no srsly this haunting me. We got only officially disaster twins for leo and donnie and recently PB&J for mikey and donnie (and I think chaos duo). The couple I tagged before is

Ok i am thinking now perhaps to shorten mikey and leo duo name.

I was thinking flashy fiends ooor classy compadre

Tho the ee sound in flashy classy is fun and compadre has Spanish origins that would match leo! (Plus compadre is just a fun word)

Alsoooo heard of tidepod duo which I thought was reference to the "eating tidepods" which ...they might do (esp mikey).

Also one I kinda into is portal rivals ! Both do portals aaaand probably reference the competitiveness b/w them in that episode w the waiting for those mobs

Buuuut now I'm thinking competitive compadre (if its not obvious, I like alliteration)

There's a couple I heard that is just adorable!

Raph and mikey as sunset duo! It even goes w the rise theme!

Even cuter, donnie and mikey as smarts and crafts!

Annnnd someone ik irl suggested leo and raph as fire and water! Cos leo is def more chill and go w the flow guy and raph is more firey anger and passion plus it goes w their colours!

Edit2: Even tho I heard of the brawns and brains for donnie and raph, which both like sorta works but also kinda cliche and may not be the best rep of their duo. Tho I honestly think there isn't much moments w those 2 specifically. Both are kinda serious at times. Maybe the no duo or no no duo XD cos they shut down each others bs

Hmmm I don't think flashy fiends or classy compadre are getting traction BUT i still definitely think fiends and compadre are going to be good in a duo name (or trio)

SOOOOOO I was thinking there's been w other turtles like "brains and brawns" or "smarts and crafts" soooo what if for leo and mikey it's like "the heart and head" tho that may sound like donnie and mikey.

OOOOOOOR "laughs and smiles" cos they seem the most likely to mess around and be positive (tho ofc the others do too, but not to the same extent)

Edit 4: now trio names added. I say because there desperately needs to be one for donnie , leo and mikey.

All I can think of for leo, donnie and mikey is the little brothers trio or chaos and disaster.

Cassandra and april are for sure badass. And think they need a duo name cos I can see their dynamic so well. We've seen BOTH of them literally LAUGHING while they're in danger or fighting. Like the daredevil twins.

Curly not immediately punishing Jimmy for assaulting Anya is something I don’t think a lot of people are viewing in the complex context for Curly as the superior to both of them and closest confidante they had.

Like I am in no way saying he didn’t under react or fail Anya by not being harsh or direct with Jimmy but it really is the case that he really couldn’t. Imagine being stuck in such a confined space with very little areas to genuinely hold someone if they commit a crime. It’s not like this was an event that occurred before they departed or that they have easy communication with The Pony Express to ask for how to proceed when something like this arises. Not to mention, Jimmy’s relative power in relation to Anya as the co-pilot and second in command, he has the knowledge and access to do something to her had Curly directly punished him in this setting.

They were also Curly’s friends. It’s not just the case of him mediating something between his subordinates but people he is personally invested in don’t want to see spiral further in Anya’s case while also not wanting believe his friend go that bad in Jimmy’s actions. They were both suicidal and Curly putting Jimmy’s stability first is both out of bias but also the fact he’s aware at some level Jimmy is a danger to himself and others if not constantly placated. Combined with the fact he was in denial or just not piecing together what Anya said it’s hard to say what he buying time for and what he had treat as urgent. This isn’t even saying he doesn’t care about Anya but he’s not going jump to the worst conclusions about his friends even if part of him acknowledges the evidence saying so. It’s a complicated thing but he’s still human and needed to process it on top of trying to keep a ship that already took on a lot of water from further sinking, metaphorically.

I just personally think that while Curly failed Anya, it was a scenario where there wasn’t much he could do to the best thing by her safely and like Jimmy, we are underestimating what a good leader would do in a very fragile and tense situation like he was in. By the time he may have been ready and had a plan, things were much too late.

I'm curious on your rottmnt spiderwick au cos I honestly first thought they're like bugs but then I'm searching and find out they're like mythical creatures?!

And then finding out the spiderwick is a book and movie (i watched it but was like a kid soooo i can't remember it well)

So wanted to ask if there were like specific reasons for picking those creatures w certain turtles?

Ah geez, well most of my design and character work is based on gut feeling

Leo it just made sense to be a nixie he was the first one and immediately my brain just said oh, nixie, funky little water creature who's also oddly elegant, he can wear a kelp wig and he got big ol feets

Donnie had abit more thought go into him, elves are usually portrayed as intelligent and in the books there shown to have hand crafted weapons (bows and arrows) and I wanted him to still have his ability to make things

Mikey's a sprite because while usually depicted as pretty and friendly fairies they are also these sorta just like evil lil unhinged guys and I felt that really fit him

Raph is the largest one so I wanted to pick something bigger, i also thought the height difference between him and Mikey would be pretty funny, but I've always had a strong attachment to dragons and I also have a soft spot for raph so I did sorta also just shove two of my favorite things together

Sorry I don't necessarily have the best reasoning behind them most of my decision making is gut feeling lolol anyway bonus art!! Mikey should be smaller but I did not want to try and draw him any smaller then that-

Think adds onto mikey wants of being independent and not being the youngest.

Mean wasn't much on this on the series except for hot soup episode where he clearly wants to show he can do it by himself.

Also ye the fact raph puts so much responsibility on his shoulder and any failure to protect his brothers is a personal failure for him.

And mikey's over empathetic and dr feelings combo would probably be mich more vigilant of the fact.

Nothing properly finished though. Tbf half of them were meant to only by sketches but still... So many sketches. So little lineart, colouring and shading.

Aldi I am filled to the brim with ideas I don't feel like I can really pull off. I would love to make a one off comic of like, Mikey demonstrating himself as the strongest sibling by like, using his mystic powers to protect Raph, after he failed to protect himself. I just really really love the idea of Mikey protecting Raph every now and then.

It's definitely hard for me to articulate why I think that's such a good idea though. Kinda a 'maybe you're the oldest and the bulkiest but you don't have to do this alone' moment? Raph is always trying so hard to protect his brothers. I think a moment where specifically Mikey, the youngest, steps in to protect Raph when he can't protect himself, would be really neat.
