I call it my Frankenstein Beanie because of the colours, the cables, and the fact I Frankensteined a few techniques from a few different patterns for it. I have quite a lot of yarn left so I might make some matching arm warmers

i finished knitting the Fisherquine sweater by @chris_knits_crochet_ on Instagram. i loved this pattern and it was on 7mm needles so worked up fairly quick.

Cable plying an already finished yarn

Recently I asked how successful cable plying an already finished yarn would be.

Well, last night I just did it. I gave more twist into into the yarn, wound it into a center pulled ball and plied it again with itself.

Before:

I like the contrast but I am no fan of pink so I was unsure if i would ever use it so i tried it with this yarn.

After:

While cabling I noticed I gave too little additional twist into the yarn. Let's see how it looks when I wash it again.

I like the way it turned more purple and how it floofed up while cabling. Maybe i'll try some nalbound socks with it. I think I'll do the same with at least one other of my other two plies.

The final "better late than never" finished object post, this time from April 2023 (!), is the Abellio sweater designed by Meiju Knits that I knit for my uncle! I did a little mix-and-match with the sizing to make sure it fit him properly, and it was totally worth it! So happy with how it came out!
