Tumblr media Tumblr media
NOTES ~ Sorry I haven’t been writing much, I hope this excuses my absence..(╹◡╹)♡
MENTIONS ~ not pulling out, size kink/difference, praise, stretching out, stomach bulge, Feng Xin, Male!Reader.
You were straddled over on Feng Xin’s lap as you were working to fix his hair, he had a long day and honestly needed some type of rest..you took down his hair and watched how it hit his back, to you his hair was one of your favorite things about him because that meant you get to spend time and take care of him, as well as getting to talk to him and learn about his day.
Feng Xin appreciated you and your efforts of everything you would try to do for him, as his hair fell down onto his back he murmured a small ‘thank you’ as you ran your fingers through his hair. You grabbed the brush that was sitting on the table besides the both of you and ran the brush through his hair making sure there were no knots or anything of the sort, his hair always looked so Lucious and beautiful thanks to your care.
Feng Xin then placed his hands onto the sides of your hips slightly caressing them as he looked at you with a warm smile, you looked into his amber eyes returning a smile back at him as you continued to care for his hair. “My dear, how has your day been?” Feng Xin spoke in a soft manner adoring your features and admiring your smile.
“My day? It’s been quite alright..I’ve been home all day and decided to clean! How about you, how was your day?” You responded in a soft tone as you finished up brushing his hair placing the brush down onto the table as your hands went onto his shoulders, you noticed how smaller you were compared to Feng Xin. He was a much bigger man than you were and it was intimidating but also..a big turn on.
Feng Xin could sense a change in the air, he looked at your face noticing you were flustered, he brushed a few strands of hair out your face as he asked “you feeling alright, dear? You’re red in the face.” Feng Xin looked a bit concerned until you giggled softly “it’s nothing..you’re just so much more bigger than me it’s a bit..embarrassing.” You softly muttered on the last few words hoping he didn’t really catch that but he did, “I see, is that why you keep shifting around my lap for some friction or am I just feeling things?” He let out a low chuckle looking down at you, you tried to protect but his hand gently cupped your cheek pulling you in for a deep passionate kiss..
Your eyes widened as you looked at him meanwhile he has a calm almost smug expression as he kissed you, your expression softening slowly kissing him back. Your teeth clashed together as the kiss started to get intense you could feel his tongue trying to make its way into your mouth, you parted your lips allowing his tongue to make an entry. Soft gasps and whines could be heard from you as the kiss kept on, hesitantly he broke the kiss being sure to look at your flustered state with a soft smile.
His hands where places on your hips as he pulled you in closer as your thighs were straddling both sides of his waist, his grip was firm but gentle as his hands slowly felt his way up your messy hanfu, “may I?” He asked in a low whisper as you nodded granting him permission, his hands made their way to your skin as his thumbs rubbed in a circular motion on your hips as you both rubbed against each other, Feng Xin let out quiet and soft grunts as you let out soft moans.
Feng Xin couldn’t help but press you down to cause more friction against you and him as he heard those moans of yours, to him they sounded like sweet honey nectar and he craved more..so much more. He leaned his head onto the crook of your neck you could feel his warm breath panting against your neck as he nibbled and kissed your neck..second by second you could feel how much more harder he was becoming the more you rubbed against him.
His hands wandered and roamed around your body as he undid the clasps and ties on your robes and hanfu removing it exposing your bare body to him, his expression softened as he looked at you. He was in awe, he’s saw you so many times but could never get over how beautiful you look.. “so beautiful..all mine.” He quietly whispered as the kisses on your neck went down onto your collarbone and then your chest, he left bite marks and some bruises along with hickeys. He wanted to mark you all over of a reminder on how much he loved you.
Feng Xin then began to remove his clothing as he sat bare underneath you, you sat on his lap as you saw and felt how hard he was, you were already plenty of wet so there wasn’t going to be any need for lube. He lined you up with his cock slowly pushing you down, he was much bigger than you so it slightly hurt but it felt *so* good.. “Feng xin..” you whined, “it’s okay..it’ll feel good soon. Just trust me, alright?” You nodded as you struggled to get the tip of his cock inside of you. You slowly wiggled and writhed on top of him as soft sharp gasps and whimpers could be heard from you,
Feng Xin praised you, making sure to know you were doing so good for him. “Doing so good for me..keep going..such a good boy taking me so well. I’ll make you feel good, I’ll give you everything you want. Such a good boy..ah fuck.” He slightly bucked his hips up as the tip finally slid inside your hole, you already clenched around him as you felt him start to stretch you out.
Your hands latched theirselves onto Feng Xin’s shoulders gripping them tightly, your body shivered as you continued to take his length. Slowly but surely you were taking him..you were half way down as he continued to shower your body in soft kisses trying to distract you from the pain as he kept telling you how good you were doing.
There would be some times during times like these he’s be worried about breaking you or hurting you on accident but you always reassured him, he couldn’t help but always be gentle with your body, you were much smaller than he was but he still wanted you. To feel you. To hear you and tell him he felt good.
As you finally took the last few inches of his length he spoke up, “do you need more time to adjust?..or do you want me to move, I promise I’ll be gentle.” Feng Xin softly kissed your cheek as he looked down at you with a soft almost gentle like expression. “Please..move..but slowly..” you managed to whimper out and he obliged.
His hips slowly moved as the placement of his hands were on your hips as he guided your movements, you clung onto him as you felt his cock slowly slide in and out of you, your whole body shuddering each time he slid in. His lips were by your ear, “good boy..taking me so well.” He chuckled lowly as he watched your reactions and each movement you did, his hand slid down your lower back as he made sure you kept your balance on-top of him.
You moved your hips slightly faster wanting to feel more of him, he sputtered out “c-careful— ah.. don’t want you to— mmph.. Fuck. to hurt— yourself..” you looked at him with a reassuring smile as the room was filled with your soft moans and his groaning. Each time you sank down you could feel a bulge in your stomach, the outline of his cock as you fucked yourself on his length. Ragged moans escaped your lips each time you moved your hips down, Feng Xin held you close to him as he moved his hips into you as you continued to move.
“You’re so small when I hold you, you feel so tight when I’m inside you as well..my love you sure you can—“ you cut him off with a chuckle as you spoke, “yes..I can handle you Feng Xin..I like how big you are it..makes me feel really good I love the difference between us..don’t stop. Kay?” Feng Xin sighed in defeat trying not to worry as much as he continued, his thrusts matching up with your movements and you could feel a knot in your stomach as each thrust was harder and faster. “Just relax and..let me take care of you..ah..” you softly moaned out as you sat back up with your hands resting on his chest as you used him for support. Your movements increased as more gasps and groans escaped Feng Xin’s lips as he looked at you as his eyes were half lidded.
Feng Xin was close and so were you..he leaned forward and latched his lips onto your neck inhaling your scent as he once again nibbled on your neck as well with dragging on kisses. He left your neck with more hickeys and bite marks leading down to your shoulders and chest..with one final thrust the both of you came and before he could pull out he completely emptied himself inside you ‘s-sorry..fuck..fuck..haah..’ he murmured through out his release meanwhile your whole body was shuddering at the feeling of being filled up and thrusted into at the same time as you rode out the waves of your climax..you collapsed ontop of him as Feng Xin held you close whispering in your ear, “you did so good sweetheart..so proud of you for taking me..”

Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were the first to arrive at Xiè Lián’s recently erected palace, mind still reeling from the meeting that occurred an hour ago.
Xiè Lián had admitted to a huge crime, claiming he was the one that slaughtered Láng Qiānqiū’s family during the Gilded Banquet.
Xiè Lián, who was nothing but righteous and good, killed the monarchy of Yǒng'ān because he “couldn’t stand to see them on the throne”.
Yeah, you don’t believe that. Not one bit.
Xiè Lián greets you at the door looking a little disheveled, rubbing sleep from his eyes with his non-injured arm. You wince at the blood and at your foolishness for forgetting to bring something to alleviate it.
“Oh, hello,” Xiè Lián offers bashfully.
“Ā-Lián,” you sigh, reaching out to grasp his sleeve, and he grips yours before allowing you inside. “I’m sorry I didn’t bring anything, I-I just needed to see you.”
Xiè Lián waves off your apology with a smile, sitting down. “Don’t worry it doesn’t even hurt. Jūn Wú did enough.”
“But—.”
The doors open and light footsteps come towards you and Xiè Lián, Mù Qíng soon appearing. His dark eyes meet yours before cutting to Xiè Lián, a scoff leaving his lips. “What? Expecting Fēng Xìn? As if.”
“Mù Qíng,” you start warily.
“What are you doing here?” Xiè Lián chimes in softly.
“The emperor detained you in your little palace. He said His Highness Tài Huá couldn’t come, but I’m not him,” Mù Qíng replies flippantly, digging into his sleeve. He fishes out a small porcelain bottle and tosses it to Xiè Lián. “It’s pitiful watching you sling that bloody arm of yours. Use it or don’t, but no one else is going to help you.”
Mù Qíng has a little smirk on his face, reminding you of a pit viper. It makes you frown disapprovingly, but Xiè Lián doesn’t acknowledge his attitude, and instead he opens the bottle and watches as the medicine does it’s work.
“So did you really slaughter the royal family? How’d you do it?”
“Mù Qíng!?” you exclaim, appalled by his inappropriate excitement and questioning.
“What are you doing here?” Fēng Xìn’s naturally boisterous voice startles them all, but Mù Qíng’s shock turns into something more ugly, disdain washing over his morbid excitement.
“I’m a guest here like you and anyone else is. Last I checked this isn’t your palace.”
Fēng Xìn glowers at him before briefly making eye contact with you before approaching Xiè Lián, his face softening. “Your Highness, what you said at the Palace of Divine Might-.”
“Yes,” Xiè Lián cuts in softly, finality in his voice and expression. “I killed them.”
Fēng Xìn pales along with you, and Mù Qíng looks briefly startled before going for Fēng Xìn again.
“What’s that expression for? Don’t make me laugh.”
You sigh and rub at your temples. “You guys-.”
“It’s not for or about you! Get lost!”
Mù Qíng looks excited again. “That is rich coming from you! As if you’re so loyal; how long did you stay around for again?”
Fēng Xìn grits his teeth, his fists tightening at his sides as a fire is lit ablaze in his eyes.
Xiè Lián fiddles with his his sleeves anxiously, a slight look of anguish on his face. “Please you two, let’s not talk about this right now..”
You on the other hand, typically the calm one and their mediator, are not feeling the aster. Your pulse is thrumming and frustration begins to bubble in your belly. “Okay, stop this right now,” you demand.
But of course yours and Xiè Lián’s pleading goes unheard.
Mù Qíng takes a step closer, finger poking at Fēng Xìn’s chest. “Some say you left because you couldn’t stand to see your former master fall from grace. Tch, such a pretty excuse, but we all know the real reason. You just couldn’t stand to spend the rest of your days cleaning after a broken man!”
“You shut your fucking mouth!” Fēng Xìn practically roars, swinging his fist at Mù Qíng, hitting the delicate looking man square in the cheek, causing him to stumble back into the cabinet, holding his cheek as he glares daggers through his curtain of dark tresses.
You and Xiè Lián gape, the latter standing up, sending his chair backwards.
“Fēng Xìn, Mù Qíng, stop!”
“You think everyone is as vile as you, but I don’t take joy in watching him suffer!” Fēng Xìn snaps, throwing another punch, but Mù Qíng dodges and smashes his own fist into Fēng Xìn’s face.
“Enough!” you exclaimed, only to be ignored and the two to ruthlessly attack one another, breaking a few pieces of furniture.
You escort Xiè Lián out safely before trying to break the other two up from their brawl, but it ends up with you getting shoved aside aggressively by Mù Qíng.
Just as your ass hits the floor, the main doors to Xiānlè Palace opens and a swarm of deathly spirit butterflies come inside, fluttering past Xiè Lián and heading straight for you, Mù Qíng, and Fēng Xìn. You’re yanked behind Mù Qíng as he and Fēng Xìn use a shield to protect themselves, and you from the swarm.
But during this you’re frozen, appalled that you were just shoved by someone you’ve been close to since before you ascended. You watch as Xiè Lián doesn’t put up a fight with Huā Chéng, who steals him away.
You say nothing as chaos goes down in the communication array, only eventually piping up in your private communication array with Xiè Lián. “Ā-Lián…?”
“Ā-(Y/N)?”
“Are you really okay?”
“Yes, yes, I’m okay. I promise.”
You believe him this time, especially as he looks so comfortable with Huā Chéng beside him. You bravely look at the Ghost King. “Keep him safe, please.”
Huā Chéng acknowledges you with an assured little smirk and a nod before he and Xiè Lián both disappear.
Although Huā Chéng is feared, you’ve always trusted Xiè Lián for the most part.
Fēng Xìn and Mù Qíng are still arguing with one another, their voices infuriating you.
“Why are you lying and saying he escaped!? We watched Huā Chéng kidnap him!”
“Is it really kidnapping if he didn’t put up a struggle?” Mù Qíng snaps dismissively. “Get off my ass!”
“You bast-!”
“Enough!” you shout. “Stop it! Just stop it! I’ve had enough!”
The two looked at you with bewilderment, and in return you gave them a vicious stare, eyes stinging slightly as your fists trembled at your sides. “Both of you are so fucking selfish, you know that? First you fight in front of His Highness and bring up your issues you either have with yourselves or each other, wrecking his palace in your brawl, and you disrespect his feelings, as well as mine, when we both asked you to stop! You’re both so wrapped up in yourselves and each other that I’m sick of it!”
“We-!”
“I-!”
“Shut up! I’m done! Done hearing both of you! Get over yourselves! If you want to actually look for him, then do it! Don’t ask me to meditate your petty arguments anymore!”
It’s quiet for a moment before you start hearing other voices.
“I’ve never heard General Qiáng Yǒngmíng get so angry before…”
“Someone finally told those two to shut up..”
“Poor General Qiáng Yǒngmíng. Dealing with those two for this long and finally snapping.”
You feel mild embarrassment as you realize you broadcasted your rant in the communication array, but maybe some humiliation is what these two need, but you doubt it’ll do much. With a huff, you make your exit and ignore Fēng Xìn’s pleas, heading to your palace to hide away.
“Ā-(Y/n), thank you,” you hear Xiè Lián murmur, sounding very faint now.
“Anything for you, Ā-Lián,” you reply, falling into your bed, just as your palace doors open.

Fengqing x Goddess of Death! Reader
Warning!!! Contains death! (it's gentle and unnamed characters, but still, be warned)
Tumblr media
I'm pretty sure tgcf doesn't have death gods (I haven't read the books yet, but I know most of the plot) but we'll ignore this fact
I added a name for the goddess, but it's literally just a nickname
The goddess of death was very elusive, many heavenly officials considering her a myth, only few having seen her a select few times.
So, perhaps it was inevitable that somebody would deem it necessary to track the goddess down, for paperwork that was never reported.
And who would be the one assigned such if not Xie Lian himself?
And who would be the tag-along's if not Hua Cheng, Mu Qing and Feng Xin?
In their disguises, of course.
So that's how they ended up making their way to a village that apparently housed a pair of senior-aged soulmates who had reincarnated together to share their love.
On the way they end up meeting a traveler woman, with silver hair and carrying a white cloth bundle in her arms.
"Ah, are you fellow travelers, perhaps?" she'd started with a curious tilt of her head.
"Yes," Xie Lian smiled, "we heard the town just up ahead has wonderful views, so we wanted to visit."
A peculiar, knowing glint entered the woman's eye, "Sure there are!" she leaned in closer, as though telling a secret, "They say, whatever you're looking for can be found in Yang village."
"And you're looking for something." Hua Cheng pointed out amicably.
The woman laughed, "Of course! As are you!"
The rest of their walk to the village was relatively quiet, even Feng Xin and Mu Qing not bickering much.
Instead, the two might be seen whispering among themselves, casting an occasional glance at the traveler woman accompanying them.
Upon reaching the Yang village the silver haired woman turned to them, smiled and bowed, "You'll find what you're looking for." and with that strange glint in her eye, she walked off.
Once alone, the quartet were left in a bout of silence.
"Where might we find the couple, gege?" Hua Cheng turned to Xie Lian with the same smile he always had for his gege.
"Ling Wen gave me their names, so let's just ask around, see if anyone knows."
And that's how they found their way to a regular village home with a yard and some trees.
In the yard of the senior couple, they found a woman with glittery silver hair, draped in a pristine white cloak, with an elegant black scythe held in her hands, sitting on a tree stump, looking into the home of the soulmate couple.
Upon their approach, the silver haired woman smiled, "Ah, it appears you have found what you were looking for, fellow travelers!"
Mu Qing's eyes narrowed, "Are you really the goddess of death?"
The goddess before them smiled in a sly, perhaps infuriating, way, "Perhaps, if you could guess my name~."
"Why do we need to guess your name?" Feng Xin's brows furrowed.
"Because," the goddess's smile seemed a permanent fixture, "you hadn't asked before."
"Most of heaven doesn't know your name." Mu Qing pointed out.
This time Hua Cheng butted in, "Of course they would not."
Mu Qing bristled at this "You-!"
"I think part of it is Yue," Xie Lian interrupted, "Because of your hair."
"The moon." The goddess confirmed, "I'll accept that and ask for no more then."
Yue stood up and walked toward the open door to the home, where they could see the soulmate couple having a mid-day nap, with their door to the yard open to let in the warm summer breeze.
The goddess of death approached the couple and kneeled beside them.
"It's time now, my dears." She said and reached out a gentle hand to brush the wispy hairs out of their faces.
Soon after, the couple's chests stopped moving.
The goddess stepped away from the home, ribbons of silver hair fluttering in the wind, making her look every bit the ethereal being she is.
There was only one thought allowed in that moment.
"Wow."
................
I've had fengqing x Goddess of Death on my mind for quite a while now, I had to write this
The "wow" was Feng Xin, btw
Also, Hua Cheng has met the goddess of death before, so he knew

🦊 Hua Cheng is absolutely whipped for you, you have this ghost wrapped around your finger. He'd do anything for you.
🦊 Unfortunately anything means leaving you be. He really doesn't want to but he isn't going to try and force you to love him either. Especially when you love someone else.
🦊At first Hua Cheng really tried everything to win your favor. Bothersome gods? He'll take care of it. Mission? He'll do all the work. Shopping? He'll give you anything your heart desires.
🦊He takes care of you really well but it only makes you feel guilty. Hua Cheng can see his advances aren't working
🦊He goes through a quiet phase. Where he just lies around Paradise Manor wondering why you don't love him.
🦊Hua Cheng tries many different forms to see if maybe it's his appeal that's the problem.
🦊Once you catch on though you scold him and tell His Cheng he's very beautiful, you just have feeling for someone else.
🦊Now he understands.
🦊Hua Cheng is a little upset, not at you, never. He's upset at this secret crush. Whoever they are must be worthy enough of your attention, soooo that dims the numbers down a lot
🦊you won't tell him who it is but he hopes and actually prays it isn't Mu Qing or somebody worthless 🙄
🦊Once he's able to actually smooth out his emotions and get through his heartbreak, out comes the sassy man apocalypse.
🦊He's definitely supportive of you, just not of whoever you like. If they want your best friend's approval, they better meet his very high standards.
🦊Hua Cheng actually helps you and your crush get together. He doesn't know how to feel when he sees you and Shi Qingxuan strolling together.
🦊On one hand he's very happy for you and for Shi Qingxuan. He actually likes Shi Qingxuan so.
🦊on the other hand he still sometimes gets sad that it isn't really his job to protect and take care of you.
🦊Xie Lian works Hua Cheng through it.
🦊 You guys still hangs out and even have double dates with each other!
🦊Every now and then you'll see a silver butterfly pass by. Just a little reminder he'll always be there for you
🌬️Shi QingXuan is very charismatic and sweet. He's always attached to your hip. Like Siamese cats.
🌬️His favorite thing is to gift you things and go out and about with you.
🌬️Until he had to go on a mission with you and Xie Lian though.
🌬️He isn't dumb, he isn't ignorant. Shi Qingxuan can see how you look at Xie Lian
🌬️he gets it. The crown prince is nothing short of beautiful and the both of you deserve to be happy.
🌬️Shi QingXuan doesn't push his advances after that. He'll silently push you two toward each other though and eventually you'll see less and less of him.
🌬️Shi QingXuan spends a lot of time in his woman form during his heartbreak. She feels more comfortable like this.
🌬️After a while of just taking time to herself and sometimes watching you and Xie Lian together, she'll come back.
🌬️Even if you aren't lovers you guys are still friends and she still cares about you a lot.
🌬️Also she misses going out on "girls night" which is mostly her begging you to change into a woman form so, but when you don't she'll do your makeup and hair anyways.
🌬️She actually finds more comfort in seeing the two of you he happy together.
🌬️Plus these days she's got her eyes on the unsuspecting earth master
🌬️Shi QingXuan will drag him around with her and make him go on doubles "dates" with you and Xie Lian.
☀️Feng Xin has taken a liking to you very much
☀️He feels like you're the one. You're kind and sweet, but also strong and brave.
☀️He's whipped and he know it.
☀️He's more of a affection kind of guy. The subtle wrapping an arm around you, or staying by your side to ensure your safety
☀️That's why he follows you around, not because he loves you or anything.
☀️His love struck stupor was shattered when seeing you and Mu Qing together though
☀️Feng Xin at first is very angry. He's not mad at you, and he would never say anything directly to you either but he stays mad by himself and Mu Qing
☀️maybe if he had told you sooner you wouldn't be in that annoying bastards arms.
☀️Mu Qing better be treating you right too or Feng Xin won't hesitate to heat him up
☀️you notice the tension between the two get thicker. Lately they've been arguing more, and fighting more.
☀️enough is enough though. You care about them both and you won't have them fighting like this.
☀️Once you and Feng Xin talk it out, he calms down a little.
☀️The physical fights dwindle but of course they still bicker.
☀️Feng Xin isn't mad anymore but he's still hurt. He's very loyal and he wanted to be by your side.
☀️ He'll accept it though and back off
☀️now a days he bickers with Mu Qing and he's still friends with you
☀️He always makes sure you're safe and that Mu Wing is treating you kindly.
☀️Feng Xin doesn't hate Mu Qing either. He's happy someone finally got the man to loosen up and get the stick out of his ass.
☀️He's going to love you a long time before he can get over it though.

I wanna hold on tighter thats just the way I'm wired: Chapter 2
🏹Feng Xin/reader🏹
🔞MDNI and I MEAN IT THIS TIME | 3.4k | this is the smut | read on ao3 | No one fucking look at me
Tumblr media
Hands roamed.
Feng Xin broke the kiss to remove his top and toss it to the floor in one swift movement. You watched the fabric briefly obstruct his soft face as it revealed his bare upper body. Strong, healthy, and built from training.
Before his hands were back on you, you unbuttoned and removed your bottoms, kicking them free before you dragged him back to you by his lips.
Like his cheek, his skin burned, and soon even your own shirt was constricting.
Without breaking another kiss, you grabbed one of his hands and led it under your shirt. You were aching for the feeling of his callouses rubbing against your skin. He happily followed and gripped your waist, rubbing his thumbs along the length of your ribs, from your sides, toward your belly and back, in slow drawn-out motions.
Your hands wrapped back around his neck as you closed your eyes and let out the smallest of gasps.
He smiled against your lips, but not before returning to grab your lower lip between his teeth like before.
When the gnawing on your lip let go, your eyes flew open searching for where the touch had gone. However, it immediately reappeared under your chin right above your pulse. Your head subconsciously drew back, inviting the feeling further.
Feng Xin nipped at the exposed skin on your neck with his teeth, before soothing the bite with a brief massage from the tip of his tongue and moving along to find a new patch of skin to stimulate.
You had let yourself drown in the feeling of his love bites, wishing them to continue forever. But the next thing to catch your attention was a sudden pressure between your legs. Feng Xin had shifted to press his knee against you and, in time with his teeth on your neck, was ever so slightly rubbing with a solid but gentle heaviness.
You had opened your mouth to gasp, but the heavy exhale from your lungs passed through your vocal cords and vibrated, resulting in a quiet, nearly imperceptible moan.
Nearly.
In response, Feng Xin immediately returned his lips to yours and kissed you deeply. “Do that again,” he whispered into your mouth. His knee rubbing between your legs picked up again. “I want to swallow that little noise you made.”
His words caused your hips to shift, searching for better contact. You kissed him deeply in the process, biting his lip as he did yours, before abruptly breaking away and whispering breathily into his ear, “Then earn it.”
He chuckled, “Alright,” and moved a hand from your hip until it was kneading the soft flesh under your thigh, slowly making its way further up and in toward its anticipated destination.
The pressure from his knee drew back and was suddenly replaced by his hand teasing the waistband of your underwear. Slowly teasing the tips of his fingers under the fabric, but not daring to remove it.
He then withdrew his hand from the waistband before cupping the fabric between your legs with his palm, and painfully slowly dragging upward.
You caught a gasp in your throat at the sensation of his hand through the thin fabric of your underwear and smiled at him. “You’re gonna have to do better than that.”
He kissed your smile “Who said I was done?” and slipped his fingers under the last layer of protective fabric making contact with your sensitive and now bare skin.
You gasped at the sensation, drawing a deep breath of air into your lungs before shakily exhaling in articulated gasps.
His fingers danced around, stroking the less sensitive perimeter of your intimate spot slowly and occasionally daring to dip one finger closer to the center, gathering some moisture, before exploring another part of you.
His touch continued along the perimeter, then center, and finally back again. But this time when his fingers trailed up, they kept going until they carefully made contact with the small bundle of nerves he was looking for.
The contact sent an earthquake through your hips and aftershocks up your spine. Noticing your reaction, he grazed the same spot again, and your hips rocked in kind. You dug fingernails into the back of his neck, and it earned you a stifled grunt in his throat.
While he was busy, a thought suddenly appeared in your mind and before you could tame yourself, your free knee moved to catch Feng Xin between the legs and to push against the hardness under his clothing before he could stop you.
The result was a deep rumbling gasp from his throat that you determined had to qualify as one of the most stimulating sounds you had ever heard this man make.
“Do that again,” you murmured with a grin, echoing his own words into his ear.
He stopped. The fingers between your legs paused in contemplation before they were retracted all together.
Before he proceeded, the only words of warning you received were “You first,” before he swiftly removed your underwear completely with both hands, flipped you around and rolled, placing your back up against his, and gripping strong arms around your chest sitting you both upright, legs separated.
He kept you that way. Open. As his arms each snuck around your midsection and met with the soft skin of your inner thighs.
“I don’t mind waiting my turn.” His lips brushed up against the tip of your ear, and then his hands resumed, teasing you until you were putty in his arms.
His middle and ring fingers settled on your most sensitive spot, rubbing slightly. Eventually those fingers slipped down into your wetness and teased your pulsing opening, touching everywhere except where you wanted him. His other hand continued to rub the bundle of nerves he had abandoned earlier.
You turned your head to see his face out of the corner of your eye. He towered over you, but you didn’t care. You loved looking up at him. “Fucking tease,” you threatened. You wanted to see what he’d do.
Feng Xin smiled, “You still think I want to kiss you with that potty mouth?”
You scoffed. “You’re one to talk when every other word out of your own mouth is ‘fuck.’”
He kissed you suddenly and spoke, “You won’t be much better off once I’m done with you.” And with that he slipped a finger into you fully and easily.
Your breath hitched but you didn’t make a sound.
He added a second finger quickly, making note of how relaxed you already were, and then began curling them both away from you.
You tightened. He kept going. Finding a rhythm between the curls and thrusts of his fingers inside you with the external stimulation from his other hand.
“Fucker,” you playfully whispered. The teasing had already been more than you could bare, if he kept this up it wouldn’t be long until you unraveled on his fingers.
“That’s my girl,” he responded. He stopped thrusting and you felt his arm flex to find a different angle. A deeper angle. And then, leading with his buried fingers, he began to pull upward as if he was powerfully drawing the string on his bow.
The movement targeted inside you right where you were weakest. Your mouth dropped open, head flung back onto his shoulder, and your eyes snapped shut. However, you let no sound escape.
The sight was disappointing to Feng Xin so he tried again. Over and over, massaging that gummy part of you with his fingers and the punishing pull of his arm time and time again.
His other hand kept up too, rubbing at you to mirror the same rhythm, the two movements working together like the double strings of a crossbow, being drawn together tighter and tighter and at the same time. The head of the arrow aiming directly at its target.
Until you could no longer bare it and *SNAP* the bowstring released, sending the arrow soaring.
Feng Xin had hit a bullseye.
Both of his hands continued to fuck you through the explosion of bliss in your body, each movement kicking your balloon of pleasure as high as he could force, until he eventually decided it had been in the air for long enough and let it pop on the ground.
Yet you did not make a sound, restricting your body to labored breathing. If he wanted to hear you moan, he would need to rip it from you. His hands wouldn’t be enough.
The glint of triumph in your glazed eyes was enough to communicate that to him.
He laid you back on the bed to recover, making a show of him stripping out of the last layer of clothing separating him from you.
Just the sight of the size that sprung free from the fabric made you ache. And that ache hurriedly pushed your post-orgasm feeling past and encouraged you to chase the next one.
He was on top of you the next second. Skin on skin, mouth on mouth. Nothing could separate his touch on you now. Both of you were entirely naked and vulnerable in each other’s embrace.
You climbed on top of him, straddling his legs once again, but this time without any restriction of clothing. You felt a prodding warmth graze the needlingly sensitive wetness between your legs and you felt your lower half relax as if you intended to draw it inside.
While one of your hands rested on his shoulder, the other dropped below and guided his arousal toward where you wanted him. You rolled your hips to coat him in the remnants of your lingering and dripping climax and both of you gasped. Then you slowly lowered yourself, allowing him into you with the utmost caution.
He was big. So big it took you a good while before your body could open up enough to even begin to take him. And another moment to allow entrance without pain. But soon enough his full thickness was engulfed by you.
There was still just so much more length to go.
An idea washed over you once you accommodated more of the size inside of you. With every passing moment your body grew hungrier and more impatient. The only way to satisfy your craving was to gorge yourself on the meal you desperately wanted.
You meaningfully looked deep into Feng Xin’s brown eyes and sighed before promptly let gravity crash your hips down into his lap with a hard and wet slap.
He was fully inside.
The penetration into you was sudden and so deep. The overwhelming wave of pleasure and pain rushed over you, and you responded with a sharp gasp.
Your head had been thrown back from the deep and painful impact of him on your cervix. You began to grind your hips on him, feeling that deep pressure prod at your deepest point, as if making a threat that you wanted him to go deeper.
Feng Xin made a face and a noise that seemed to want to make good on that threat.
It felt so good to be around him.
You could only guess how he felt to be so perfectly nestled inside you.
He grabbed your hips, indicating he wanted to move.
“Wait!” you cried suddenly, eyelashes fluttering in ecstasy.
You exclamation scared him, worried that he’d hurt you. His face cooled from hot and hungry to frozen and fearful in an instant. He wrapped your neck and back in a supportive embrace while he scanned your face suddenly asking in a panic, “What’s wrong?”
You’re eyes were half lidded and watering from his intrusion and you responded in a shaky voice, “I just want to feel you.” You subconsciously clenched around him. “Don’t move. I want to stay full.” Tears began to fall from your eyes.
Feng Xin’s eyes grew wide as he processed your words. Your tears startled him. His pause indicating how worried he was until you looked at him in assurance, permitting him to continue.
“I didn’t know how starving you were,” he teased.
You could feel both your own pulse and that of the god inside you at the point where you were connected. For the time being, his heartbeat existed within your body. And the thought of that alone was nearly enough to send you into the sky for the second time.
You hauled your mind far from the edge of that high.
Feng Xin wrapped strong arms around you. Grounding you to the point where you became one.
You then began to snake your arms around Feng Xin’s neck. And before settling your chin on his shoulder, you whispered, “Xin-er…” your voice soaked in insinuated suggestion.
Feng Xin froze.
You continued, “A-xin,” you nibbled and sucked on his earlobe then took a hot breath before weakly whispering into his ear, “I want you.”
The man in and around you trembled imperceptibly. Then he contemplated. And then finally made his next move.
With a terrifying explosion of animalistic brawn and while still fully nestled inside, he flipped both of you over, so you were once again under him and on your back.
Any sort of restraint Feng Xin had been clinging onto had since evaporated, and he pulled out from you entirely only to slam back inside once again.
Over and over and over.
The pace wasn’t fast, but it was hard and drawn out. Each thrust like the release of an arrow from his bowstring. With every thrust, the head of each arrow assaulted your favorite spot deep inside you.
The coils in your gut were on fire from the repeated impacts. The blaze grew hotter every time he bottomed out. Your thoughts jumbled and time slowed within the walls of your mind.
You could barely remember what had led you to this point. The only thought that ricocheted around your brain was just how good it felt to have Feng Xin moving inside you like this.
His force was unrelenting and his stamina unsurpassed. He fucked into you with a passion no less than how he kissed you.
Intentional, hard, and with an infinite amount of love.
It wasn’t long before his persistence ripped the sounds he wanted out of you. And once you broke, you gave up trying to hold back.
It was impossible for you to suppress your sounds anyway, so you directed them right into his mouth. You took a choked breath before the impact followed by a drawn out vocal whine as he prepared his aim to thrust again. Until he burrowed back in and the cycle of your sounds continued.
Each thrust grew harder and more accented as he consumed your moans. They seemed to be fueling him. Each sound he ate up from you funneled directly into the force of the impacts aimed within you.
The beautiful abuse made you feel dumb. Thoughtlessly, you uttered an answer to the question your body had been asking for too long, “Ju Yang,” another thrust hit you. “I see now.”
That little phrase of yours earned you an extra poignant thrust to your insides and a pained moan escaped from you into his mouth. He had not let a single one you fed him go to waste.
He kissed you again after this especially loud moan, and upped his pace, still maintaining his depth.
He had already fucked you dumb but now he was just about to fuck you crazy with pleasure as well.
With every last bit of strength you had left holding you back from your release, you looked into his beautiful golden-brown eyes and breathily uttered, “A-xin.”
He looked at you in response but with not any difference in his rhythm.
“Come with me,” you commanded.
He already had no intention of letting you down. He continued to showcase the true power and stamina of a god yet still as his rhythmic movements grew even more intense. Your mind could not take much more of this euphoric beating. The feeling would soon devour you.
“Feng Xin,” you mindlessly uttered as you placed your hand on his cheek and shut your eyes. You gathered all your remaining composure, directed it to the man above you…
…and you prayed.
You prayed to your god.
The only god you had ever wanted to worship.
The god above you now.
And the god still pounding a waterfall pleasure deep within you, daring you to suffocate because your lungs had now forgotten how to breathe.
His unrelenting pursuit of your orgasm was finally achieved at the height of your breathless hypoxia, melting the rest of your composure along with the tightness in your core.
Gasping loudly from your lack of air, you released, projecting the entire explosion of pleasure into your prayer to him and squeezing the impossibly large size inside you, as if to drag Feng Xin off your cliff of bliss with you.
Your intention was successful. You prayer was heard.
A prayer like none other than he had received before. It poured nothing but your ecstasy into his mind, drowning him in the crushing sensation of your release that was soon to make him gasp from his own.
His eyes flew open, and he looked down at your beautifully pleasured face in realization. A face being pleasured by him, and him alone.
Between your squeeze engulfing him and the heavenly fanfare of your prayer invading his mind on top of it all, his steadfast rhythm became erratic and harder still. He inhaled sharply before hammering into you while he bottomed out one, two, and three more times, preventing you from coming down from your own high, and then buried himself impossibly deep as he came.
He only muttered the strained word, “Fuck,” and sung a melodic whine into your mouth as he filled you.
You felt his release spread within your gut. You felt him twitch as you uncontrollably squeezed, your body and soul still miles from the ground. Your body drew out every last drop from his release and your mouth ate up every moan from his as you pulsed around him.
You devoured his beautiful sounds. You locked your legs around his waist as your body tried to slowly glide down from the heights of your own orgasm with his, both pairs of your hips subtly grinding on their own to subtly shift his fullness within you.
The pair of you stayed connected like this for a while. Your arms and legs wrapped around him, his strong hands holding you in an indestructibly warm embrace, and your insides contracting at increasing intervals around the feeling of which you never wanted to leave from you.
You tried to catch your breath before you spoke. “Don’t move,” your hot breath whispered to him, exhausted.
Feng Xin obeyed. His broad chest heaved. Strands of loose hair stuck to his forehead, where beads of sweat kissed his temples. A few capillaries dripped down his neck and onto his breathing chest. A few more dripped further still.
His body seemed to be glowing. Like there was a halo of light surrounding him. Some sort of shimmering bronze reflection from his skin that bewildered your eyes. His skin was as hot as the embers of a metal-forging inferno, only now beginning to die out.
He was beautiful. In every sense of the word. The man above you made you feel so good, so safe, and so loved. You were in complete awe as you looked up at him from the view on your back.
He was your angel.
Your god.
And you loved him.
Feng Xin didn’t dare pull out. And you didn’t dare ask him to.
Your thoughts are words were one in the same. Your mouth speaking at the exact moment the thought was formed. “I wish I could be full of you all the time.” But it was the truth.
“Is that a prayer?” He chided in response.
“Only if you answer.”
He carefully kissed you in reassurance. Slowly. Deeply. “Always.”
This was perfect. He was perfect.
“I will never leave your side.” He promised between peppered kisses. “I will protect you until the end of time.”
He looked into your soft eyes. You saw the world reflected in his. Your world. A world you would share together. Until the end of everything.
Just a god and his most devoted believer.
Forever inseparable.

'This should be easy right?' A thought arises in your head, moving towards a far position from the target. Cocky sure, but how hard can it possibly be.
You have no prior experience on archery before, but you have been ogling studying at a certain someone.... Cause you knew somehow it would come to this, You practicing it yourself.
"Why are you just standing there? Come on I wanna see your amazing skills already, surely you weren't bluffing just a while ago..."
Without even facing him you could tell that Feng Xin has that stupid, lovable grin on his face, going along with his sarcastic comment. Your brows furrow at your boisterous words before, yet you still try to play it cool.
"Ah, It's just been so long since I've handled a bow... Give me time to remember.." You say with a nervous smile, eliciting a huff of laughter from Feng Xin. Gods you really hope you don't embarrass yourself later, if only if it weren't for that damned ghost that caught you off guard a while back. That incident left you with quite a few cuts and bruises and an overly worried lover be it that.
✶⋆.˚꩜ .ᐟ˙⋆✶✶⋆.˚꩜ .ᐟ˙⋆✶
You knew it would be a stupid idea to to go out foraging when its almost dusk. But in your defense, this is the only time you were free...It was still early, but you just lost track of time..
You also did not say a word to your lover in fear of revealing your surprise.
for what exactly...? well
A lot of years has passed by. Companions have come and go, Things lost and some found. Memories of the past hazy by now, as new ones develop and pile.
But there is this one time that you will never be able to forget. Forever etched in your brain, It is the start of the waltz of two hearts, now intertwined and growing stronger at each passing moment. A time worth of celebration and remembrance, Your anniversary. And its only two days left until then.
That's why you're here, in the the middle of the forest, basket filled with the flowers you came across, for the gift your about to make as you get home .
You walk at a quick pace, trying to find your way out, so you can go back the embrace of your lover, Feng Xin.
The world around you is embraced with orange and pink. Signalling that the sun is now setting for the moon to take flight..
Your not entirely scared of walking around in the dark pshh.. You can protect yourself just fine, it's just that you have a bad feeling about this trip, And you're in the middle of the forest too.
No people can be seen in sight, who knows what kind of carnivorous animal lurks here-or worse ghosts, out for your blood....Plus your lover is a prominent figure in the heavenly capital, what if they held some heavy grudges about his awesomeness, And your here defenseless.
You slap yourself in the cheek, trying to stop your line of thought that's making you panic even more now. Gripping onto your basket you're walking even faster, as the forest is now engulfed in darkness.
The hair on your nape rises, goosebumps rippling on your skin at the cold. No more sun to provide you with warmth.
Only the cold moon, along side with the cold air working against you now. Making the leaves rustle, making it sound like something is trampling on it-
You freeze in your tracks, An ominous presence clouds your senses.
'rustle, rustle'
Bolting with out a second thought, you mutter curses under your breath. Fight or flight instincts kicking in, well just flight instincts. You don't know how to fight ghosts, just humans, surely an uppercut won't work on ghosts right?-
You debate on what to do, should you scream for help? there should be people near right? your village has to be! You try to think of a suitable plan in your head, though the adrenaline makes your mind run a bit too fast,
...You can feel it's gaze on the tip of your spine, like it's getting closer and reaching for you-
Your survival instincts kick in as your leg drops, making you kneel. Horrifyingly sharp claws just above your form, Where your face was just at. Retracting it's claws, it covers itself with a thick fog, blending onto the trees again, waiting for a perfect time to strike.
You celebrate in your mind for a bit, letting out a galore of curses at the ghost. Taking a bit of Feng Xin's dialect in fear. But you quickly stand up to run again, now letting out a cracked yell of help, throat dry in fear.
By a miracle you could see the end of the forest, and a path like the one leading to the village. You could almost scream in joy, and that you did, along with a few pleas for help.
Yearning to touch the moonlight on the clearing, you reach your hand out. Commotion could be heard nearby, and freedom at the tip of your finger tips.
Your joy was short lived though, as you couldn't move even if you were putting all your strength on your legs. Maybe that's because something is holding you down, unavailing you to even breathe, Sharp claws closing in to your neck.
Eyes widening in disbelief, Torches could be seen in the distance. And there he was, your lover. With Fengshen in hand, it seems he saw you too, face twisting in fear and anger. It looked like he was screaming for something, but your eyelids were growing heavy. You really wanted to say that you were fine, to ease his nerves, hating to see him like this... Maybe if you wake up soon, You'll have the chance to tell him that...
...As all fades to black and the screams were all turned but to faint echoes.
✶⋆.˚꩜ .ᐟ˙⋆✶✶⋆.˚꩜ .ᐟ˙⋆✶
You awoke the next day, with a worried Feng Xin by your side,
Enveloping you in a bone crushing hug.
You wanted to ask what happened but he was quick to cut you off with a scolding. You just accepted it though, knowing that what you did was wrong. About not telling anyone were you were going before hand.
Apologizing with honeyed words, You vowed to never do it again. Making him huff a 'You better not', skeptically as if he knew you were gonna do it again in the future
✶⋆.˚꩜ .ᐟ˙⋆✶✶⋆.˚꩜ .ᐟ˙⋆✶
And here you are now, due to his pleading for you to learn the bow to protect yourself in those situations.
You were weighing it on your mind yesterday, not that you could say no. But you decided to say yes anyways because, this means you could watch Feng Xin's back as well when all goes haywire.
Taking an arrow from the quiver strapped to your back, you place the arrow's nock to the bow's string. Channeling all your rage as you pull back the string. Just realizing that it needs quite the force to pull all the wa-
fwoosh!
The arrow flies, your hand slipping amidst your thoughts. It would have be epic if you hit bullseye in first try but.... It didnt even reach halfway, it was to be expected since it was only pulled a little.
You turn towards the brunet to intercept the arriving laughter from the man behind you- ahm...too late
Feng Xin slid a hand to his mouth as he said,
"Wow, You're amazing It reached so far...!"
It sounded like he was trying hard to hold his amusement in really bad, tears pooling at the edge of his crinkled eyes.
"You- That didn't count! watch, i'll nail it this time"
You turn, Trying it again, pulling the bow strings taut. The arrow flew though farther this time, but it didn't even hit the target. You groan in frustration, though relieved that it was at least better this time. You try it again, and again-
"Your form is wrong... Here let me help you"
Feng Xin seemingly done with his daily dose of laughter, finally moves to aid you. Enclosing into your form, enveloping your own hands on the bow.
Stiffening at the closeness, you impulsively turn your head to look at him. Noticing the soft smile still imprinted on his face, brows curved perfectly in his focused state, brown locks framing his face just right. And his piercing eyes looking at the target, and now at you, his gaze softening.
"Why are you looking at me? you should be looking at where you're shooting," Feng Xin grins, kind of embarrassed with your lovesick gaze
You quickly rip your gaze away from his, huffing a small,
"I knew that."
Feng Xin gives you a few tips and adjustments on your form, Though you find your mind going elsewhere
"Here you can shoot now.." He says softly with his hands still enveloped around yours, guiding your fingers off the string.
Fwoosh-
The arrow flies, though a bit crooked at least it hit the target now,
"There you go now you do it by yoursel-"
"No! I suck at shooting arrows it would be best if you guide me for now!" You were quick to say, which surprised the man.
Letting out a chuckle at the switch up from -
'I'm a pro at archery, I don't need anyone's help!' To this
"Fine, fine a few more so you can get the hang of it" Feng Xin pats your head, and guides you in position again. Playing along with your antics for now.
This happens a few more times, with each getting closer and closer to the center of the target.
Fwoosh-
The sound of the arrow piercing the wooden target, you're used to it now. But this time, excites you the most, as you see the arrow has finally hit the bullseye. You let out a cheer, relieved to have finally hit the jackpot. You were convinced to have gotten the hang of it.
"Now your turn"
He pats your head again probably for good luck, now creating some distance so he can survey your marksmanship.
Letting out a breathe of air, you take an arrow from the quiver again, though this time never taking your eyes off the target.
"Hey I said stand up straight, were you not listening before? And also your foot move it back a bit more"
He barks out from a far, dead panning. The things he said before just being forgotten in a few short minutes.
You swiftly fixed your posture, brows furrowed in embarassment.
"-I knew that I was just getting ready!"
Huffing, as he let out an amused 'mhmm'
You put the nock on the string of the bow, pursing your lips as you pull it back. Focusing only on hitting the target in front of you, Not paying mind to Feng Xin's scrutinizing gaze.
Unbeknownst to you, there was pure awe in his gaze at the sights of you. Lips twitching into a lopsided smile. While the sun sets in the horizon, making the surroundings glow with a tint of orange and pink. The scene just looks ethereal, able to be mistaken as the heavens itself.
The arrow makes a whistling noise due to the speed, slicing through the air in its wake. Landing on the target with a loud thud.
Though disappointed with it not hitting the center mark, you were only a few sections off. Surely you could do it in a few tries or one more-
"Good job, that'll make do for now" Your eyes widen whilst turning towards Feng Xin, with both hands clasped
"A few more, I really can hit the target in the center now-!"
You try to persuade him,
"Don't overexert yourself, we have all the time in the world"
"Well what if the world is ending tomorrow, how will I protect myself then" You try to retort
"I'll be there beside you," A firm reply by Feng Xin, whilst he picks up the arrows that are laying around.
",I only won't be, if you go somewhere without telling me"
You sigh, placing the bow on the side to help him clean as well
"Are you still mad about that?" Walking towards the targets, you take the arrows embedded there, putting them back on your quiver.
"Don't act all surprised now," A sigh can be heard even from afar
"I only wanted to do that to surprise you-" You freeze on the spot, the continuing part '-for our anniversary' on the tip of your tongue can't having to bear to say it.
"That so? You have no need to do that" Feng Xin's voice gets closer and closer, as if he can read your mind.
Feng Xin turns you around to face him "You know thats supposed to be my job giving gifts..."
"So here, happy anniversary love"
He clips an intricately designed hairpin on your hair, with a few adorning jewels complementing your eye color.
You could only stand there in awe, Feeling like the luckiest person alive right now.
"Now just sit there won't you? let me take care of cleaning-"
You couldn't help buy cut him off by jumping into his arms, Legs wrapping around his waist. Spilling thank you's at his ear, and complaining about that stupid ghost that ambushed you a while back. Making you lose your gifts.
"You didn't have to.. I have to give you a gift now.. just wait-"
Earning a laugh from the Feng Xin "The only gift I want, is for you to stay safe always"
Enveloping his strong hands on your thighs, so you don't fall and injure yourself.
"i'll Master the bow and learn every weapon in existence tomorrow if you wish, i'll even wear some cool armor around-"
"Careful you might surpass me if you train so hard"
His tone is laced with sarcasm and amusement, though he's glad your taking your safety to the next level.
"Maybe I will."
"Sure you will, let's go inside now shall we? We still have a lot of celebrating to do." He smiles fixing his hold on you into a 'bridal carry' so it's comfortable for the both of you.
You melt into his hold still defeated about forgetting his present. Vowing to repay him tonight, just Muttering a little 'okay'

HOW DO HSR MEN REACT TO THEIR S/O NOT ACTING LIKE THEIR NORMAL SELF
(GN!Reader)
(Boothill, Dr. Ratio, Sunday)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
BOOTHILL:
Something was wrong today and Boothill knew it. You were occasionally picking at your food. More quiet than usual. And didn’t even kiss him goodnight! Do you know how much that hurt the poor guy? He nuzzled into a unicorn stuffy to make himself feel better for goodness sake!
But you had him worried. Really worried.
“Ay, you doing alright?” He murmured, fixing his hat giving you his signature toothy smile.
“Yeah I’m fine.” You mumbled back a reply which was totally bull. You were feeling really shitty for no reason. It was one of those days where everything was boring and dull.
Boothill taking notice of your quietness he picked you up bridal style making you yelp.
“Babe what on earth!” You choked out surprised and he smirked.
“I’m gonna buy you whatever you want okay? I just wanna see your pretty smile back.” He cooed out stroking your hair making you flush in surprise and happiness.
“..Thanks. I’ve just been out of it.” You mumbled out a reply reddening further at his touch which he chuckled at.
“We all have our days. C’mon!” He put you in a more comfortable position in his arms taking you into the city.

DR. RATIO:
Usually Veritas was the grumpy one in the relationship. Always talking about his studies and all the degrees he’d earn during his days at university. Though none of that came into mind when he saw you acting out of it. When he tried to talk to you, you ignored him! Now that hurt his ego a lot.
And his feelings.
“May I ask why you are acting in such a different manner than usual?” He said with his occasional stoic tone his gaze narrowing as he saw you sit on the couch staring into space.
“It’s nothing.” You mumble out a reply making Veritas gaze narrow further and his eyebrows furrow into knits.
“Nonsense. I am your spouse. It is obligatory to tell each other how you feel.” He huffed out crossing his arms.
You feeling crappy and not wanting to deal with his constant persistence gave up.
“I just feel tired. Everything seems so dull today.” You pull your knees to your chest praying he didn’t see your exhausted state that was there for no reason.
Veritas eyes softened. He grabbed your hand and kissed its knuckles making you flush ever so lightly.
“What are y-”
“Tell me what I can do to make the boredom vanish.” He cuts you off murmuring into your knuckle.
The only thing that came to your mind was..
“Your presence.” You whisper out and Veritas sits on the couch with you letting you lay on his shoulder.

SUNDAY:
Something wasn’t right. Sunday noticed easily with his perspective self. His hands twitched as you didn’t say a singular word to him the entire day. His wings drooped every time you passed by him without saying anything. As well as his halo dimming every time.
“Darling, what’s gotten you acting this way today?” You know his question was genuine but it stung for no reason. Did you need a reason to act this way?
“I’m just more tired than usual. Even though nothing has happened today. I think that's the reason..I know, weird.”
Sunday sighed and he smiled gently using his gloved hand to pick up your chin quietly placing a soft kiss onto your lips makes you stutter.
“W-what was that for?” You redden looking up at him with wide eyes.
“There's an expression that isn’t dull.” He murmured out ruffling your hair. “You made me think I wasn’t treating you well.”
You hitch at his words and shake your head rapidly.
“Of course not! You know I love you.” You stare up at him with those wide eyes making Sunday melt and kiss you again.

The room is dark and foggy. You could smell the strong lotus and sandalwood aroma in the air. The dozens of candles around the room being the only light sources to the five people in the room. Mei y/n was kneeling on the floor before the Heavenly Emperor's, Jun Wu’s statue, praying before him with his three other friends like everyday, at the same time. He had his eyes closed, hands on his knees and mind in praying trance. His friends, Xie Lian, Mu Qing and Feng Xin weren't that concentrated. The three behind him kept opening their eyes and looking at y/n. Everytime Xie Lian heard Mei Nianqing, the head Guoshi of the Xianle Kingdom and Mei y/n's father, approaching he closed his eyes again and pretended to pray and meditate. Feng Xin and Mu Qing weren't that concerned about Mei Nianqing and secretly kept admiring his son. Sensing the two's distraction, behind them, Mei Nianqing slapped the back of their heads with his palm. Both whispered-yelled like from one mouth, "OW! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" Xie Lian snickered beside them. Mei y/n bowed his head to the Heavenly Emperor's statue, signaling the others that he had thanked the god and had finished. He turned around to look at the other four men behind him, "I'm finished, Guoshi." The priest nodded, "very well. The lesson has ended. Go then you four, the rest of the day is free." All four thanked and bowed before him before leaving the room. Mei Nianqing shook his head, disappointed.
The four walked out of the Holy Royal Pavilion towards the cherry field, spending the rest of their day together. The Crown Prince and the son of the state preceptor walked at front, hands hooked together. They laughed about Feng Xin and Mu Qing getting scolded by Mei Nianqing, AGAIN. The latters walked behind them, leaving a respectful space between. They blushed and tried to defend themselves, also trying to hide their jealousy towards Xie Lian. They reached their usual relaxing place, a red cherry tree from which hung a simple swing. Mei y/n let go of Xie Lian's hand and ran towards the swing, hopping onto it. He started to move his legs gently, watching the others sit against the tree. They sat in silence for a moment, the swinging of the swing being the only sound. "Finally, some peace and quiet. Qi Rong has been a pain in the ass the whole day. Someday, I swear I'm going to snap," Mei y/n sighed. He had been Prince Xiao Jing's servant for years, appointed by his father. Only near Xie Lian and the other two he could address the young Prince so casually and actually talk ill about him. The other three didn't mind, rather they agreed with him. Xie Lian felt bad and sighted, "Don't worry, I'm going to 'talk' to him. I can't see you being tortured by him like that. I can ask Guoshi again to make you my servant, maybe he will allow this time?" Mei y/n hopped off the swing and sat between Mu Qing's legs, against his strong chest. The young boy blushed at it but didn't dare or want to push him away, he took a lock of his hair and started playing with it. Mei y/n smiled and closed his eyes, relaxing in the calming silence with his dear friends.

"Everything I love about you"
Fengqing x reader
This feels so ooc, someone please bury me, but also, I have zero regrets
Tumblr media
It's a lovely way to spend the day, lounging around on a picnic and watching the clouds rolling by with your lovers.
Then your thoughts start drifting too, but never too far, because how could they, when your wonderful lovers are right beside you?
And maybe there's something about this incredible softness that doesn't come too often with Mu Qing and Feng Xin, not with them fighting so often, because your feeling very sentimental.
"I love you." you just have to whisper out, and once you start, the end is a long-forgotten thing.
You turn to your lovers, making sure to have their attention, and, with warmth in your eyes, you remind them, "I love you both so much."
"We love you too." Feng Xin tells you with soft eyes.
"I know that," you feel a fond bit of laughter bubble under your skin, "now, shush, I'm not done."
"I love the way Xin's voice softens when Qing does that silly little thing. I love how Qing's brows quirk when you tease Xin in that sassy way, when you lean more on one hip. I love how strong Xin looks, even when just walking." a small laugh escapes you, "I love the way Qing's hair sometimes flutters around like pretty ribbons." Feng Xin laughs at this as Mu Qing hides his face, already flustered, both of them blushing.
You laugh too, and lightly chide, "Shush. I love how you two understand each other without even looking sometimes. I love how I can come up with so many big and small reasons why I love, and at the same time, there's no reason at all, I just love you. I love how you express yourselves. I love how easy it is to love you. I love how you make me feel so happy. I love how just thinking about you reminds me how much I love you. I just love you. I love you so much, I think I'd still love you even when we become dust!" at the end, your words came out so quickly, you were left lightly gasping.
After a moment of stunned, tender silence, Feng Xin engulfed you in his embrace, pulling Mu Qing along.
"I love you both so much." Feng Xin's voice muffled in your clothing, but the emotions were heard as clear as glass and your heart swelled.
There was a quiet blanketing around you three as you lightly swayed in your tender embrace.
Perhaps a slight, expectant feeling was coming off you and Feng Xin as Mu Qing averted his flushed face and quietly spoke, "I guess I'd love you too if we were dust." his face reddening even more after saying that.
You and Feng Xin laughed lightly and hugged Mu Qing impossibly closer as Feng Xin couldn't help but lightly snicker, "you couldn't say anything cheesier?"
Mu Qing flared in return, "Shut up! Name said it first!"
You continued watching them fondly, because even as they bickered, their care and love was so easy to see.

Maple Robes and Lace Veils
Hua Cheng x M!Reader x Xie Lian
Tumblr media
this is the second part of my first story, "The First Glance". Again it's technically about my OC since no one's asking for anything. I just have it written to where it can be for a reader. 😋
Switching pov's
Also guys I am not Chinese but I try to find words and translations that are important to my OC's story.
Dúshé means poison laced tongue in simplified Chinese (I think)
Mûguô means bitch, or whore in simplified Chinese (I think)
Míngqín means song bird it's Y/n's nickname
Previous part: First Glance
_____________________________________________
Once the morning has officially started, San Lang goes back to his wood pile. You stand by Xie Lian while San Lang somehow manages to build a whole door for the shrine. Xie Lian seems to love it, it's obvious with how he's become fascinated by opening and closing it repeatedly.
"I thought a door would be easier to stick talismans on than a curtain" San Lang explains. You smile and give a small clap. "It's a very well made door, San Lang, good job" you giggle at Xie Lian's excitement.
At the mention of talismans Xie Lian seems to remember something. He claps his hands together, "Oh Míngqín I forgot to tell you what happened at Mount Yunjin! I'm so sorry, so much happened yesterday"
You wave a hand, "it's nothing to worry about. How important could it be? I was there for most of it." You smile but Xie Lian's face is very serious so really nothing's funny at all.
"Well actually," Xie Lian laughs nervously, scratching his temple. "I talked with the heavenly officials and I found out that I met a calamity yesterday." Your face morphs into shock but Xie Lian quickly settles you down. "Not him." The words are met with silence. Of course it wasn't the white calamity. What were you thinking? ,"They called him Crimson Rain Sought Flower, his name is Hua Cheng" Xie Lian smiles. At this ghost's mention San Lang starts to pay attention to the conversation. "He walked me through the forest yesterday and I mistook him to be the ghost groom but he isn't. He isn't hard to be mistaken after seeing his silver butterflies ."
You're in shock. Because you got caught up in a swarm of silver butterflies yesterday. "I... Just don't understand. Why would a calamity be hanging around Mount Yunjin? Crimson Rain Sought Flower is known to stay in his den." You sigh.
You easily worry about Xie Lian and panic once more. "He didn't hurt you did he?" You move closer to Xie Lian and hold his face, looking for marks or bruises. "Why didn't you call for me, I would've been there right away." You frown and move back once you're satisfied with your search.
"There was no need to call, he didn't hurt me... He led me through the forest and safely delivered me to the temple." Xie Lian smiles but you sigh.
Xie Lian didn't get hurt, but a well known calamity shows up and helps Xie Lian? Coincidence. The same calamity helping you? Intention.
"...I suppose it's okay. As long as you didn't get hurt A-Lian. Just be careful." You look to the ground, but Xie Lian pats your head. "I am careful, ah you really should've seen the butterflies though Míngqín They were very beautiful"
You arch a brow then shake your head. "I actually did see them but, Wèizhī might eat them" Wèizhī is your two birds - Oriental Magpie- , they're not here right now though. They're probably bathing in water somewhere. Hm a bath doesn't sound so bad actually-, "Y/n?" You're brought back into focus when San Lang gains your attention. "Sorry I tend to lose my train of thought" you hum.
"What about you y/n?" You cock your head to the side at San Lang's question. "What have you heard about Crimson Rain" San Lang smiles mischievously.
"Why would I know anything about anybody?" You shrug. Of course you've heard and seen plenty about Hua Cheng, you're a ghost. You're... Residence happens to be near Ghost City.
Xie Lian nods in agreement though, he could use the info. You sigh, "Who knows? He stays in his den, and although close I've never seen him in my city." You shrug again.
All of you eventually go back inside. You end up staring at the painting again. You would have eventually painted something for Xie Lian but you've been busy working on the actual build of the shrine. You've always been good at the arts. Drawing, dancing, and singing. That is why you're the God of Song after all.
"San Lang's skills are very beautiful" You say, looking over at him. "Who taught you?"
San Lang shakes his head. "I had a good teacher a while back, I paint mostly for fun now." You nod at his explanation and smile back at the painting. You really do like it. It shows Xie Lian in what once used to be all his glory.
"Do you really like it so much, Míngqín?" Xie Lian stares at you and you've forgotten you don't have a veil on. They can see your expressions and you aren't just invisible anymore. You blush, and instinctively cover your mouth with your sleeve.
"O-oh, well yes I like it. It's very well done and it captures the prince of XianLe very beautifully." You stutter and look away.
The moment is interrupted when the three of you hear a scream and a man running towards the shrine. "Save Me! Save me please!" The panicked man grabs Xie Lian's wrist very harshly. It's in your nature, you can't help it. You are quick to push the man away, and to protect Xie Lian. He pats your arm however, in a 'It's okay' motion. Xie Lian sits the man down and asks for an explanation from him.
You and San Lang glare at him. Both of you don't trust him and both of you share a glance when the man explains he's from Banyue pass. Which has since turned into a dry land of sands. The man was running away from what killed his other group members.
"You ran all the way from Banyue pass to here?" San Lang asks with crossed arms. Your form is the same. The man seems to sweat at this, but Xie Lian in all his kindness offers the man a drink. Xie Lian is kind but he's probably just testing if the man is a mortal or not.
"No need to be polite you can drink" The man -for all his supposed running- hesitates to take the water Xie Lian so generously offered. When he does drink it, the water going into his body sounds hollow. You and Xie Lian both know it. "You can stop drinking now." Xie Lian says and takes the water from the man's hands. His disguise is ruined and everyone knows now. The man rises up quickly though and pulls a sword from his sleeve, moving to attack Xie Lian.
Before you or San Lang can act, Xie Lian is quick enough to flick the sword away. Sometimes you forget Xie Lian is just hiding his strength. The man tries to run and Xie Lian moves to use Rou'ye but the man drops and a sad looking skin bag(?) is left behind... A chopstick is what caused the damage. You and Xie Lian both whip your heads around to San Lang. Xie Lian goes to investigate the corpse but you still stare at San Lang.
"A chopstick?" You ask with an arched brow. "A chopstick" San Lang only smiles and you sigh. You both go to Xie Lian. When you get closer you can see that Xie Lian is using the array, so you do too. The only thing you can really hear is people being joyful about merits, and ignoring Xie Lian. Officials disgust you.
"Are the lot of you deaf? Did you not hear his highness? He asked a question." Your voice rings through the array and the officials who were once joyful before quiet down. Instead of answering, the cowards leave the array.
You're not a popular force in the heavens. Especially since your personality has always been cold and distant. You were actually loved once before, for your unnatural beauty and voice people revered you. That was until they found out you were a ghost and before they trashed Xie Lian's name. You would cause trouble for the other gods and challenge them often, causing fear to most officials. You always defended Xie Lian's name and when given the chance for promotion, you refused and chose to stay with Xie Lian instead.
This loyalty of yours to a scrap god however causes other officials to look down on you, they also just don't like your attitude. You have other unofficial titles that the heavenly officials made and of course those names spread. There's one title that used to be used quite often but you actually haven't heard any officials call you that in a long time. That title is "mûguô". Someone caught word of your past and decided to spread the name to upset you, but it faded out very quickly. That official -who you never even knew the name of- disappeared shortly after, with their temples burnt and no trace of them.
You're stuck in your thoughts until you hear Ling Wen answer Xie Lian's question about Banyue Pass. You leave the array, Xie Lian will tell you what's going on. When you look over at San Lang he's giving you a cheeky smile. "What?" You tilt your head but he just shakes his head.
You run your hands over your new braid while Xie Lian talks to Ling Wen. You mess with the red ribbon San Lang tied your hair with. It's definitely a pop out color compared to all the white you wear.
"San Lang, I'm afraid me and y/n will have to go far away soon" Xie Lian pipes up and stands from the... Thing on the ground. San Lang furrows a brow at the news and then gives a smug grin. "Why doesn't gege and y/n take me with them? I know a lot about Banyue Pass."
Xie Lian looks confused but he nods anyways. You wouldn't mind if San Lang came along either. "Oh? What do you know about Banyue Pass San Lang, you're far too young to know those things" you tease with a smile, while the three of you head inside the shrine.
San Lang chuckles and goes to speak before a knock on the door makes you all silent. You all look at each other in a moment of silence before Xie Lian opens the door.
When Xie Lian opens the door it reveals Mu Qing and Feng Xin who are in disguise... They are in a shocked silence not having seen you in a long time and to see your face after so long. You all sit in silence.
After you get over your shock you let out a panicked yelp and cover your face. They saw your face! Your cursed, cursed face! You shove your face into your hands. You didn't want Mu Qing to see it. He'd use it against you and you already hate him enough already. Feng Xin saw your face! He'll surely be disgusted with you now.
You start to groan into your sleeves, trying to move away from their eyes. You try to find your veil through the slits of your fingers. You can hear your name tumble from Feng Xin's lips but the door slams and someone whisks you away into their arms. They forcibly move your hands away from your face and now you can see that your face to face with red robes .
San Lang holds your wrists, and that stops you from hiding your face. "San Lang, my veil? Where's my veil?" You don't have a clue where he put it. Another pair of hands come into view and puts your veil over your eyes. You know it's Xie Lian.
Now that you can actually tell what your surroundings are you find that you're in San Lang's arms. You blush and step back. You hadn't meant to grip onto him so tightly.
__________________________________________________
Xie Lian sighs in relief when they find y/n's veil. Xie Lian is actually sad to see his face hidden again. He hasn't seen your face in so long and he missed it. Xie Lian supposes he doesn't mind though. If anyone deserves to see your beauty it's him and he actually doesn't want Feng Xin or Mu Qing to look. Xie Lian shakes his head to remove such thoughts. As if he could describe your face like it was a secret to keep between the three of you.
"I'm going to open the door now y/n" he pats your hand. He waits for your nod before opening the door again. He smiles nervously at the two officials outside. Of course Xie Lian knows who they really are but for now he'll pretend. "Ah why are you two here?"
Mu Qing and Feng Xin have crossed arms "Are you going to Banyue Pass? We're going with you" they say at the same time and then glare at each other. Xie Lian laughs but opens the door to let them inside. He looks at y/n keeping an eye on him. Xie Lian knows his temper.
When Feng Xin and Mu Qing see San Lang they're alarmed. Holding up their lighting, and fire. "Who's he?" Mu Qing nods his head at San Lang. Xie Lian sighs, "This is San Lang"
Feng Xin's eye twitches, "where did he come from? Where's his family? Do you usually invite people you don't know into your home?"
Xie Lian laughs nervously but he's glad that the attention isn't on y/n anymore.
Not until Mu Qing attempts to throw lightning at San Lang. It would have most definitely hit the wall and caused a big hole but y/n dispersed it. Sending a shot of ice towards Mu Qing. His face hides behind his veil but Xie Lian knows you're angry. "No fighting in the shrine. If you damage the shrine I promise to return the damage double to your god's palace" he spits with venom, threatening Mu Qing's palace.
It's evident y/n doesn't try to hide who he is. Sure he's in his avatar and he looks simple. However he doesn't do a good job at keeping his abilities at bay.
Xie Lian doesn't know whether to laugh or cry. The tension in the room is very high. Mu Qing looks ready to argue back but San Lang steps in front of y/n and stands by Xie Lian's side. "Are these two servants, gege?" He hums with a smug smirk.
"uhm something like that but not exactly-" Xie Lian gets interrupted when San Lang throws a broom into Mu Qing's hands. "Start helping then" San Lang smiles. His face resembles a mischievous fox. Y/n cackles.
Xie Lian waves his hands trying to calm a cursing Feng Xin and Mu Qing down. "Please for my sake leave him alone" he laughs nervously. He doesn't need his shrine to get destroyed not that y/n would let that happen.
Talking about y/n, ah. He's glaring at Mu Qing under the veil. He'll have to make sure they don't break out into a fight either. San Lang leans on y/n's shoulder and the stiffness seems to leave y/n's body. Xie Lian isn't too worried about anyone fighting. He thinks San Lang will keep a careful eye on y/n.
Xie Lian rubs his temple. "Maybe Feng Xin should make a pathway so that we can get to Banyue Pass quickly?"
Feng Xin does just that. Leaving Mu Qing standing alone in front of the three of them. "Is he coming with us?" Mu Qing points to San Lang with furrowed brows. Xie Lian sighs and goes to answer but y/n answers for him
"Of course, since when was it a servant's job to worry about his highness's friends?" Xie Lian drops his head when he realizes that Y/n has joined San Lang in his smart remarks.
Not only does he have to worry about one silver tongue but two. "Yes San Lang is coming with us. He knows a lot about Crescent Moon Pass and that's sure to help me" Xie Lian explains with a nervous smile.
Mu Qing is interrupted when Feng Xin cuts him off, "The pathway is finished". Mu Qing, ever the prideful looks at the pathway and shrugs, "I've seen better". Which leads to Feng Xin and Mu Qing bantering again.
Y/n interrupts them by activating the pathway. "Stop bickering like an old married couple let's go" San Lang snickers softly, "I never thought of that, they do bicker like an old married couple don't they" The two officials glare at San Lang and y/n. They smile back. Xie Lian only knows y/n is smiling because of his crow feet.
They all go through the portal. Xie Lian lets out a laugh, knowing that he's going to have to deal with all of the four's antics on their journey. Xie Lian is happy with his circus though.

Hey remember this post???
I wanna hold on tighter thats just the way I'm wired: Chapter 1
🏹Feng Xin/reader🏹
🔞MDNI | 2.8k | fluff & eventual smut | read on ao3 | No one fucking look at me
Tumblr media
Summary:
“Tell me everything,” he pleaded. There had never been an intimidating aura in his gaze, but his reaction to the boldness of his own words seemed to startle himself into fearing he might’ve been too forward, “Please.”
You did not answer in words. With him, you knew you didn’t need to.
You just took a step forward.
Your unfocused gaze locked forward in line with the chest of the taller man, your free arm reaching toward him, your mind screaming for your body to be embraced.
And embrace you he would. Whenever you so much as whispered for it.
or
Sometimes Feng Xin is just the only person you want to see after a long day. Luckily he really can't get enough of you.
...
You fumbled with your keys while standing outside your own apartment door. The exhaustion from your day had caught up with you as you struggled to even open the deadbolt on the door.
Eventually you made your way inside. Your apartment was simple but comforting. A wood wick candle was lit on the counter. The scent of juniper and spruce washed over you. It wrapped you in its scented tendrils, and heavily filled your lungs like a weighted blanket. A good weight. A secure weight.
And then your gaze landed on the person lounging on the couch. He hadn’t turned around yet to acknowledge your arrival, so you caught a glimpse of his profile. The sunlight leaking through the curtains caught the tips of his eyelashes and shimmered as he looked up and turned to welcome you home.
His eyes seemed to smile more than his lips as he greeted you.
His singular dimple appeared deeply on his left cheek. He didn’t have one on the right. And the shadow of that dimple made his face soft and perfect. You wanted to poke that little spot on his cheek.
Usually, it would make him laugh. To you that was a sound more beautiful than music. And then he would playfully tell you that you were silly for finding something so mundane still so adorable.
Then, when you would blush out of embarrassment for being called out, and he’d break out into an even stronger fit of laughter.
The skin between his thick eyebrows would crease above the bridge of a strong nose, nostrils subtly flaring with every gasp of breath between laughs. His eyes would smile upside down and close so tightly that small beads of tears would squeeze their way to the outer corners of his eyes like a single drop of morning dew on a small branch of apple blossoms.
Sometimes you would gently wipe away those happy tears with the soft pad of your thumb. But he would catch your hand instead, and kiss your palm, never breaking eye contact, and pulling you in with his gaze alone, like the attraction between two opposite poles.
It wasn’t a daunting gaze. It was magnetic. You couldn’t help but be drawn toward him. He was the direction in which the compass of your heart pointed. The North to your South. With one you must always have the other.
And then he’d smile.
Just like he was now.
The flex of his mild and strong jawline complimented his upturned lips.
The cut of his jaw wasn’t sharp like a knife. But rather bold like the rounded end of a stone hammer. Weathered and experienced. But far from showing any sign of decay.
His cheeks blushed as they swelled above his smile, plumping his prominent and round cheekbones. It was just like how he’d smile after kissing your hand. Except this time without the brief playful flick of a pink tongue peeking out at the corner of his lips.
Right now, there was no playful smirk.
Right now, Feng Xin just turned and smiled at you in the most genuine way a man ever could.
The most genuine way a god ever could.
Suddenly the sunlight streaming in from outside through the curtains was blocked by a cloud, and the two golden brown eyes that were smiling at you widened in cautious surprise, before he spoke.
“Meimei…” his voice trailed off, rumbling soft and low. Like the distant roll of thunder in the minutes before a storm threatened to pass over, warning the birds that something was wrong.
You were drawn from your wide-eyed and exhaustion driven trance at the sudden change in his expression. It was subtle. Only you would notice the slight tension in his jaw. You could feel the faint grind of his teeth in his mouth as he gnawed on the inside of his cheek. Something he only did when he was concerned.
He never really was able to hide that feeling very well.
Worry.
It was written everywhere across his facial features. The tightness of his jaw, to the wrinkle above his nose, to the darkness of his eyes.
Brown eyes so dark you were lost in them for a moment.
Yet before falling into them, you retracted the reach of your gaze from the man on the couch and shot it down toward the floor, keeping your eyes hidden under suddenly lowered lashes.
He noticed immediately.
You closed the door and wordlessly walked to put your things away, intentionally preventing your gaze from crossing his. After your key had finally been put away, a hand reached into your line of sight.
Not touching just…
Offering.
You had no choice but to look at him now. Frankly, you didn’t even know why you were acting this way. The person you loved most stood steps away from you. The calming touch of his skin mere inches from your own.
The intensity shown in his eyes wasn’t aggressive or even determined. It was soft. Welcoming. As if he had you tethered by an elastic band.
But, driven by habit, you resisted. Distance increasing but tension rising. You felt the space between you tighten. But when you had stretched the elastic band to its maximum, you could not fight the unbearable force it had on you anymore.
And you let go.
Everything you had been keeping tightly sealed away broke through the vault in your mind and flooded your heart.
Your eyes watered. Subtly. Enough that a fine glimmering line along your bottom lashes obstructed your vision, but no tears fell from them.
The hand he had extended toward you did not bother to stop or delay any more once he saw your face change in that moment.
The fingers of his left hand traced down from your temple and a thumb landed on your cheek. His right traced along your arm, fingers lightly grazing your skin in question.
You leaned a little toward the sensation involuntarily in answer. The warm palm of his hand made full contact and sparked on your skin at the touch. Like the clack of two magnets.
The hand on your cheek wandered until his thumb reached your lower lashes. He slowly ran the outer pad of his thumb across your damp lashes. At the wet feeling on his sensitive fingers, a faint hitch of breath stumbled from his diaphragm.
The inaudible scream laced in the desperate reach of your arm was too heart wrenching for him to even attempt to ignore.
Swiftly his position shifted, and he swept you up into his arms, one arm supporting your knees, and the other hugging your shoulders. He nestled his face into the crook of your neck to breathe deeply, calming himself in the familiar scent of your perfume.
“What do you need?” he murmured into your neck. His voice cracked at those words, as if he couldn’t decide whether or not anything louder than a whisper would startle you. His voice was soaked in helplessness, even if it was the person in his arms, you, who was the source of that helpless feeling.
You really didn’t know how to respond to his question.
You lifted your head off him prompting him to lift his as well. You felt an expression appear on your face, and by his reaction it was likely a complicated one. He looked back at you wearing a half smile, softly upturned eyebrows, and glossy caramel milk chocolate eyes.
The concern in his gaze threatened to melt you. Yet still, your pride got the better of you. Even if you were being embarrassingly held in his arms, you convinced yourself you would remain solid.
But you leaned forward anyway. And understanding, he did the same.
Your foreheads met, like you wanted to communicate your unspoken words directly into his mind without the need for hard-to-find and difficult words.
The touch was a gentle reminder of his closeness to you and your trust in him.
For the moment, he held you there, in his arms, breathing.
He waited for your breathing to calm. Initially short and shallow, your breaths slowed and evened out as your body recognized you were safe.
You didn’t realize how much more relaxed you had become until you felt the deep rumble of a suppressed laugh against your face.
Your eyes had fallen closed, and you had subconsciously drawn closer to him, one breath away from your nose grazing his own. If you had done it on purpose, it almost would’ve been a taunt. But he laughed, knowing this wasn’t the case.
“Come with me.” He teased, you felt his breath against your lips, the touch of them however ghosting you entirely.
The phrase implied a question, but he had no intention of actually letting you go.
And you had no intention of leaving.
So, you let him carry you.
He turned his head in the direction of the couch. The warmth of his face left yours feeling cold when he turned away and as he started carrying you. He held you tight as he sat you down with him, placing you sideways in his lap and protecting your head as if he was holding a precious newborn.
Upon feeling the side of the couch at your back, the distance between you and him became unbearable, despite still being in his arms. You leaned toward him and adjusted yourself to wrap your arms under his shoulders and around his chest. Your cheek rested against his sternum.
You wanted to feel the thump of his heartbeat and steady cadence of his breathing. Wanted to take those rhythms and place them within your heart. Unfortunately, this was only the closest you could get.
He responded in kind, wrapping his own arms around you. His grasp was strong. Grounding. Not tight or restrictive. One arm crossing and protecting your back while the other held the back of your head.
You felt so very safe.
You had never felt so safe.
Feng Xin was the one person who could make you feel…
Safe.
He squeezed you against his chest. You squeezed back. It had been such a long day. Just holding onto the man in your arms comforted a place in your soul that had been feeling tension and discomfort for so long.
In response to your strengthened hug, he started gently running his fingers along your back, starting at the vertebrae below your neck and dragging a light touch in circles around each segment of your spine. One, two, three circles with his fingers before he’d move on to the next section and start the circles again.
You shuddered the moment his fingertips reached squarely between your shoulder blades, flexing them together and burying your face deeper into his chest with your eyes shut tight. He promptly removed his fingertips and replaced the teasing ticklish touch of his finger circles with a flat firm hand gently massaging the drawn muscles in your back, gingerly untying the knot in between your shoulder blades until they loosened again.
When you finally relaxed, you realized even being held like this, even intertwined like this, was still not close enough.
Your hands fell to fidget with the bottom hem of his shirt, rolling the soft fabric between your fingers.
His hands were still on your back and in your hair. But not wildly. There was only just enough movement to let you know he was still there. It suggested nothing more.
Seconds passed and you fought against every muscle in your body that was screaming at you to stay in his arms, to stay safe, and you instead lifted yourself from his embrace.
His arms fell away to allow you the freedom to move. You hated how cold you felt without him. You settled down again in his lap, now facing him with your legs on either side of his. Your hands found their way to his hair, tied up into a bun with only his long bangs framing his beautiful face.
Your hands held the back of his neck as you looked across his face, your gaze switching between both of his golden eyes. Each of your fingers sprawled out and cradled the space between the nape of his neck and the spot just behind his ears. Your finger pads ran up and down between the strands of his tied-up hair to massage his scalp. Your thumbs rested in front of his ears toying with the strands of hair that framed his face.
He simply stared back at you, his eyes hazy with bewilderment. You noticed his concern was still present in the slight crease between his brows.
You wanted that concern to disappear.
Feng Xin dared not to move as you placed your lips on his brow, the spot just above the bridge of his nose, and lightly kissed. Still holding his head and playing with his hair but now also urging his concern to go away.
Just as slowly as you leaned in to kiss him, you then drew back, admiring your work on the way. Settling yourself back in his lap and smiling sweetly now that the crease had melted away.
The bit of Feng Xin’s gaze that had held his cold concern now housed a new contrasting emotion. One that was a lot warmer. And it seemed to be growing throughout his face. The crease that had been between his eyes had been swapped out for a budding warmth in his features.
You were about to drop both of your hands from his neck when Feng Xin reached up to stop one of them from moving. He intertwined his fingers with yours and pressed his cheek into your palm, closing his eyes.
Hot.
His cheek burned.
Like the scorching sun at the height of summer. Not enough to hurt at first. But dare to stay exposed too much longer and your skin might bubble. Skin cooked raw to the touch.
Too much longer like this and he’d turn you to ash.
Feng Xin hastily shifted his upper body forward, leaning in tauntingly close as he stood to pick you up. Momentum from his movement drew your face toward his and you let it.
His strong hands supported you, gripping tenderly under your thighs as you succumbed to the tingling burn on your skin.
And you kissed him. Sudden and chaste, yet lingering.
He kissed back. Brief but hungry. He only allowed himself to bite your lip for a moment before reluctantly pulling away and meeting your gaze.
You hooked your feet behind his lower back as both reassurance and to steady yourself. In response, Feng Xin carefully and eagerly carried you to your room, and laid you down on your back underneath himself. His one arm gingerly lowered you while the other supported himself above your shoulder and past your ear.
You noticed his fluid movement pause at the sight of you. Your hair draped around your head like a crown as you gazed back at him. You ran your fingers through your own hair to test your theory, and it earned you an open-mouthed gasp from him.
Quiet, but undeniably real.
You drew that same hand away from your hair and ghosted your skin along the back of his neck, twisting the short wisps of hair at his nape around your fingers. When your hand did eventually settle on his neck, that slightest bit of applied force seemed to crumble him, and he dropped his face toward yours, using your hand to guide his way.
And he kissed you again. And again, and again.
There was palpable pressure this time. And much more greed.
Like if he didn’t kiss you just right or if he didn’t kiss you just enough that, for some reason, he thought he would never again get the chance.
Like it was the last and only thing he had ever wanted to do. And, gods be damned, he was going to do it right.
