I Believe...Steddie

I normally don't mind angst (though I avoid drama fics in general). Miscommunication is the biggest trope in romance, so I'm all for it, but for some reason Steve x Eddie fics / drabbles where Eddie still thinks of Steve as Steve THE KING Harrington always sit weirdly for me. Sometimes, if the Upside Down didn't happen (AUs in general) or pre-UD setting, maybe -- sure, then that could work. But close to canon fics where Eddie lives and Steve legit confesses to him? Always just -- strikes me as wrong.

Finally realized why -- it's literally the antithesis of canon Eddie. Canon! Eddie is quick to acknowledge Steve has changed. He literally runs up to him in the Upside Down while a bunch of madness is happening and where he has every right to be consumed by his own shit-tastic situation, but instead, he's telling Steve how he is a great guy and has changed.

Can Eddie be bitchy and prejudice? Yes.

Does Eddie have grudges against jocks / the popular crowd? Yes.

But he also goes full on bowing gentlemen for cheerleaders (going out of his way to help Chrissy and make her smile) and he's quick to acknowledge Steve's not that same popular AH anymore.

With Steve's bitchiness not aimed at him, Eddie would be eating his Honeycomb and snickering when old habits popped back up, and maybe he'd feel conflicted about jocky Steve, complaining about going to games or something until somebody smacked some sense into him. Totally believe tension and disbelief about one liking the other or some bias about things, but I just can't see Steve proclaiming his love or whatever and Eddie assuming it is a trap or trick or prank or something.

Maybe he'd think Steve was confused. Maybe he'd assume they were doomed, but I can't see him blaming Steve for that or blowing up their relationship IF Eddie accepted the confession and they started dating. Eddie's way more down on himself.

If someone can explain how it makes sense, please do. I'd love to enjoy all Steddie tropes, and that one seems popular lately, but where my brain sees so many problems with them getting to the confession point or even a number of big arguments that could happen afterward due to outside aspects, those two strike me as highly tactile, highly clingy romantics who would be convinced they were the height of discrete while practically fused, constantly touching and being snide little judgy dudes together.

Like, yeah, he blew up Punz’s house, it was irrational, but WHAT HOW WOULD YOU DEAL WITH THE SITUATION ON HIS PLACE??? Tommy has acted irrational, but it’s not stupid or not understandable in the situation. This boy and Tubbo did so much more than so many characters would’ve already. And both are holding remarkably well given the circumstances.

More, Tommy after blowing up Punz’s house and crying over the sea is showing such an incredible level of being able to hold it together and see the situation clear!

I know we as viewers can come up with so many solutions to their problem right now, but we are not inside the story, we are not influenced by time, by our abilities, just by being under this much pressure.

And ‘dying selflessly is what they want to get’. Well ding fucking ding, the options are literally giving them what they want, but taking them down at the same time or letting them have what they want anyway. Cool, yeah? They can experiment all they fucking long on the selfless death, if it means that it’ll lead them to their doom. If there’s a chance it will work. And c!Tommy understands it like nobody else.

If no other plot twists will happen that suddenly sill solve all the problems they have right now, it’s the most reliable option they have, and we should be proud of Tommy and Tubbo for taking that into their hands instead of, i dunno, using the little time they have to just fly away to the moon, letting everyone else die and saving themselves. Probably living a good life two of them with Michael.

And who knows! Maybe the Limbo after selfless death is not Limbo, but actually heaven! Nobody died like that before, it’s something nobody knows. Maybe c!Tommy will be allowed to move on and not be in torture or revived, idk, but move into another life and have his happily ever after.

It’s no secret that Theodore Nott had a rough childhood

Between witnessing his mother’s death at a young age and having a particularly ruthless father, Theo learned to be quietly reserved early on

1000% Theo is an introvert

Despite being seemingly closed off, he’s extremely observant and good at reading others and picking up on things quickly

While he may not be the best at deciphering his own emotions, he’s able to sort through others’ easily

This makes it easy for him to be rather manipulative because he knows what makes other’s tick and how to go straight for the jugular

He may be distant and off putting in the beginning, but once you get close, he’s a clingy bastard because he doesn’t let many people get close, so once you make it there he’ll basically hold you captive forever

He’s also stupid smart

(Canonically he’s able to re-create an illegal time turner after they were all destroyed in the department of mysteries so//)

And this makes him a bit of an arrogant asshole

Looks down on people he thinks aren’t as smart as him

He definitely thinks that he knows best and can have a “my way or the highway” type mindset

Anyway, he’s super intelligent and witty and has the potential to do really well in classes

But he has a nasty habit off skiving off with Mattheo Riddle

A lot of people think Theo is the “mother” of the group, or at least the one with the most impulse control

They’re wrong

Theo is the one that Mattheo goes to with his dumbass ideas and Theo’s response is generally something along the lines of-

“Absolutely not you tosser. If we’re going to do it, we’re going to do it right”

Queue Mattheo’s initial plan- only methodically planned out to cause maximal amounts of emotional trauma for the Hogwarts population

Theo and Mattheo are also a chaotic duo on the quidditch pitch

Theo is a chaser

Making the quidditch team in his third year is one of the only times his father showed a hint of satisfaction with the boy

Being on the Slytherin quidditch team, he’s often labeled a preppy jock

And Mattheo does help him break out of his shell more

But he’s a nerdy lil book worm at heart and likes to be holed up in the library most days

Theo also has quite the reputation of being a ladies man with rumors about his escapades swarming the student body

But really they’re just that- rumors

Lorenzo is more of the openly flirtatious pretty boy, and Mattheo certainly knows how to make his way around which is perhaps why people think Theo would be the same way

But he isn’t one to really form physical attachments- emotional or not

He prefers to fly under the radar

He may have had a fling or two, but isn’t one to kiss and tell

He has a hard time entering a real relationship

Mostly because when he first realizes he’s caught feelings, he’s convinced he’s actually just ill and stays in bed pretending to be sick

But once he comes to terms with things, he’s one determined wizard

Makes sure everyone knows that you’re off limits (possibly before you know yourself)

Definitely goes to Enzo for advice on how to woo you

With varying degrees of success

I'd say in season 2 in term of clingy lore, it would be them tackling their trauma n also their relationship. Then, theres also Punz who came out alive in the breathtaking season 1 finale where they definitely kill dream, ofc it would lead up to him reviving dream back.

Also it would tied up some loose end that never were resolved, where ranboo and michael when and because its possible because this is in written text format, maybe Techno character might come back in the story where maybe big drama would happen between bedrock bros.

Theres also other lore that is loose end, but im mainly focusing on clingy lore here and things that would've connected to them. So for TOTSMP or badlands stuff idk about their lore bruh. Maybe at most, i would like include quackity or niki stuff.

IMAGINE YOU’RE AT AN AMUSEMENT PARK WITH BAKUGO and he just so happens to bring you along for a family trip as your “friend,” because he “only had one ticket left.”

It’s early in the morning and your parents drop you off at his house with your things and all you can see is Bakugo staring you down from his window. Laughing to yourself at how weird he looked, but from the other end he was shitting himself at the thought of spending a whole day with you.

You didn’t know that Bakugo has had a crush on you for almost a year now, and he had no way of telling you. And knowing him, he probably would’ve told you the last minute.

But he then realized he was going on a stupid trip with his parents and they told him to bring a friend. So fuck it, he brought you.

As you walked up to the door and rung the doorbell, you were excited to see Bakugo and his parents. You were excited overall to go on such a spontaneous trip.

Around a week ago, you were casually at the dorms getting a cup of yogurt from the fridge.

And so appeared Bakugo!

“Goin’ on a stupid trip, wanna come?” He said, and you obviously said yes.

So when his parents opened the door, they were quite shocked to see you of all people appear. Bakugo’s mother lets out a gasp, covering her mouth and lightly chuckled to herself before regaining her composure.

“Are you our son’s friend?” She says with a smug smile.

Before you could even answer, Bakugo pushed away his mother and grabbed your stuff and told you to follow him.

After awkwardly meeting his parents and getting a tour around his house. The four of you set sail for the ride.

The ride was mostly quiet, from time to time Bakugo’s father would try and make you all play I Spy or yellow car. But Mother-son duos’ cries of disdain would shut him up.

But when you got to the park, Bakugo got so clingy. He told you to hold his hand the whole time to make sure you wouldn’t run off or leave him behind. Even though he just wanted to hold your hand.

When it came to the rides, you were a wuss.

“If I had knew you wouldn’t ride any rides, I wouldn’t have brought you” he says, and that kinda hurt your feelings.

So you decided to prove him wrong by riding the fastest coaster they had open.

The whole time you were clinging to Bakugo for mercy screaming your guts out. But it was so worth it.

After that you couldn’t get enough of the rides.

While you were in line for a ride, Bakugo couldn’t help but notice a guy staring you down. This ultimately got him pissed off. While you were blabbering about some random topic, Bakugo softly pulled you by your waist and pulled you into his chest.

Your face grew hot as his actions, “what’s wrong?” You mumbled into his chest. Looking up at his you noticed how his gaze wouldn’t leave the guys.

“Some random creep eyeing you down, don’t worry” he says, looking down into your eyes. You noticed a light blush dusted over his face.

As the line grew shorter, his hands stayed on your waist the whole time.

As the day turned into night, your feet grew tired. Eyes drooping and voice gone from all the screaming, your back tired from carrying not even half of the plushies Bakugo won from you.

Hand in hand, you notice Bakugo lead you away from his parents’ gaze. Leading you away into an alley, he sets down your plushies and looks you into the eyes.

“I like you,” he admits.

“I know,” you said back.

This takes the blonde aback, making you chuckle. “I knew something was up the moment your mom looked at me when she opened the door—don’t worry, it’s cute–“

After 5 minutes of a non-stop makeout session and 10 missed calls from Bakugo’s mom. The both of you arrive at the car. Lips swollen and faces warm, no words were spoken as the two parents could already gather what went down.

And as you drive into the night, you snuggled up against the blonde. And the both of you peacefully drifted off into sleep.

| the final bell rang in bio, making your way to math class. you usually stayed on the 3rd floor, waiting for all the chaos on the staircases to die down. you wore a black sweatshirt, jeans, along with your black converse. you hair was half-up half-down with a red bow. as you were walking to math, your ex found you in the hallway. he had always been very clingy, never understanding.

“hey there pretty girl.” he said to you as he followed you down to the first floor. you got icked out immediately.

“leave me alone please.” you told him, attempting to walk faster.

“not when you look this beautiful.” he said, as he grabbed your arm to make you stay close to him.

“dont touch me!” you said in a stern tone, immediately making sure he released your arm. thankfully by your surprise, a girl was watching the whole time.

she had auburn hair that was up half-up half-down and went above her shoulders, green eyes, and freckles. she wore a hoodie with green parachute pants.

the way she saw the situation, she was immediately worried, so she decided to step in.

“the fuck you think you’re doing?” she said to the guy.

“talking to the prettiest girl i know.” he replied, looking straight into your eyes.

she wrapped her arm around your neck and shoulder. “a girl thats taken.”

the guy wasn’t scared, but annoyed. he left in defeat, a scoff leaving his mouth as he rolled his eyes.

“hope you didn’t mind. i didn’t like the way he talked to you. im ellie.” ellie said.

“no, thank you. i really appreciate it.” you told her.

on the outside, you looked fine. but on the inside, you we’re freaking out. not because of fear, but because of how brave she was. she did that, for you. for your safety. you blushed at the thought of her defending you again.

“how do you know him? seems like a bitch.” she asked, as you both walked down in the hallway.

“ex-boyfriend, sadly.” you replied. “but once again, i really thank you for helping me out there. do you mind if i get your number?” you didn’t think twice as the words left your lips.

“oh no, not at all.” she said as she handed you her phone to put your number in. “thanks”

“see you again sometime?” you asked nervously.

“yeah, see ya.”

a few hours later the school day ended. you decided to text ellie.

ellie then sent a photo of each block that she had, 1-7.

r: “we have math and history together”

as you put your phone away, it was hard to fall asleep. all you did was think about her. she was on your mind for that entire night. because what you both had, felt right.

weeks went by, and you guys became an incredible duo. you both were always together. you knew what made each other smile, happy, laugh, cry, become sad, and so much more.

finally, it was hoco week. you already knew what to wear, since the theme was ocean. as you got to school, ellie asked you the question that every student asked their peers. “are you going to homecoming?”

“yeah, i really wanna go. i already have my outfit. i dont have a date, but its fine.” you told her.

the bell rang, signaling for students to get to their first class. “ive got dance, ill see you later tho.” you told her

“im not done.” she told you in your ears as you gave her a hug. “will you be my girlfriend?”

this moment couldn’t be real. it was all a dream. you were on cloud 9. you wanted someone to pinch you. “of course i will.” you replied as you gave her a kiss on her lips.
