A Hero's Past
A Hero's Past
FFN: A Hero's Past by MidnightShard.06
By: Midnight_Shard
Series: 1, 2, 3
Summary: (My summary skills have not improved) (Also this will make more sense if you read a Hero's Journey first. I suppose you might be able to read this as a standalone thing but some context probably isn't going to be provided. Up to you how you do it tho)
About 10 years after the events of A Hero's Journey...
Izuku, Katsuki, Shinsou, and the rest have been on the pro scene for several years now. Heck they've even managed to open their own agency! Things start to get odd when a seemingly small case turns out to be a lot bigger than they thought. It doesn't help that a lot of what they're seeing is eerily reminding them of the League which was taken down only a couple years after they'd graduated... What things might be dredged up from their past both willingly and not? And how will it affect them and the futures they've built for themselves?

A Quirk for the Future
A Quirk for the Future by The US Doctor
"Quirks, if some one could devise a way to make an artifical one, not only would they be a rich man, they would also be targeted by every villain and government. Then again, I suppose wanting to be a hero could do that to you too, I suppose I could give a crack at trying to make an artificial quirk," Izuku got up from his tea break and walked into his lab to get started.

Depend on the idea I get some are easier to do as stories some of just an image. I'd like to be able to a comic one day, but I am not a fast artist.
What is your favorite trope?
Kinkwise - Consentacles (Consentual tentacles) and A/B/O. Storywise, subversion of expectations for the characters or the audience.
Shamelessly plug the work you are most proud of and the reason why!
I just reposted this my my old DA, but I really proud of the atmosphere I built up in this image it's 10 years old but still looks good. https://buzzly.art/~Seitoushi/art/headless-horseman

Orange Juice
A Kacchako One-Shot
[Part 5 of the Interesting Attire series]
Summary:
It’s Sunday morning at the UA dormitory and Ochako is ready to start her day off right with a good breakfast. But her morning is interrupted by a sleepy blonde who informs her they’re out of orange juice. If only she can focus on what his is saying instead of what he is wearing…
Rating: teen and up
Tags: one shot, short one shot, alt. uni - canon divergent, aged-up characters, no smut, suggestive themes, awkwardness, awkward sexual tension, Bakugou Katsuki is a dork, Uraraka Ochako is a dork
Read the story of AO3 and FFN!
Tumblr media
Orange Juice
Ochako took a seat at the small table in the dorm floor’s shared kitchen space, excited to finally dig into the food she just prepared. Every Sunday morning she made sure she woke up before the others to make herself a nice breakfast before she went about her relaxing day off school. And today was no exception. She looked down at the scrambled eggs, slices of bacon, sausage links, and jam on toast, happy she decided on an American style breakfast today.
As she took her first bite, she heard a door open down the hallway. She was surprised someone was up at this hour. Especially after the shenanigans she heard her friends get into the previous night. Her eyes trained on the entryway into the kitchen slash lounge area, waiting to greet whomever was awake. Her eyes grew wide as she took in the tired-looking blonde coming out of the shadows.
Bakugou didn’t acknowledge the girl sitting dumbstruck at the table. He just made his way over to the refrigerator and took out the orange juice before chugging it straight from the carton. He acted as if he didn’t know he wasn’t the only one in the room, even though he could clearly see Ochako out of the corner of his eye.
Ochako couldn’t stop herself from blatantly staring at her classmate. And it wasn’t in disgust because he refused to use a glass. It was because he was shirtless. And not just shirtless. Bakugou didn’t have any pants on, standing before the open refrigerator in only a tight pair of grey boxer briefs.
He could feel her eyes on him as he finished off the thing of orange juice with a harsh gasp. When he removed his lips from the carton, he quickly glanced her way as if he’d known all along she was sitting there. Which he had, he’d just been ignoring her presence until then.
“What’re you lookin’ at?!” He bellowed in his usual aggravated tone.
Ochako squeaked, her cheeks flushing further at being caught ogling the ill-tempered blonde. “Nothing!” she shouted, waving her hands around anxiously. She turned back to her food and began eating again in an attempt to avoid embarrassing herself any more. She paused when a shadow fell over the table.
She lifted her head slowly. Bakugou was standing right beside her in all his almost-naked glory. Her eyes automatically trained on his defined abdominal muscles, moving down to the waistband of his underwear, then – before she could stop herself – over the significant bulge that was obviously his manhood. It’s not like she wanted to be face to face with Bakugou’s clothed penis. It was just there, right at eye level.
Bakugou noticed were the brunette was staring and couldn’t stop his own blush from forming on his cheeks. He ran his hand through his hair gruffly, not knowing what to do and fully regretting his decision to leave his room in just his boxers.
“You goin’ to the store today?” He asked suddenly, hoping to wipe that glazed looked from her eyes. Her staring was starting to stir things in him and he’d really rather she didn’t see his dick twitch from the attention she was providing.
His question seemed to do the trick, pulling Ochako from her very impolite staring. “Huh?” she said dumbly, looking up at his face. She hadn’t realized just how consumed she had been with her gawking. Her brain was struggling to catch up.
Bakugou banged the empty juice carton on the table, startling her. “We’re out of orange juice,” he said before turning and walking back toward his dorm room without another word. Ochako couldn’t stop herself from watching his retreat, the term “bubble butt” having a completely different meaning to her now.
When Ochako went back into the lounge later that afternoon to grab the grocery list, she hadn’t expected Bakugo to be sitting on a stool as if he were waiting for somebody. She avoided his gaze – still completely mortified by her behavior that morning – as she grabbed the list off the refrigerator door and turned to leave.
Imagine her surprise when Bakugou stood up from his seat and followed her out of the building. She was even more shocked when she realized that she was the person he’d been waiting for as he walked silently beside her to the store, keeping a safe distance while she perused the aisles, their shared embarrassment keeping them both silent during the whole ordeal. But she didn’t miss the blush on his cheeks when he placed a carton of orange juice in the shopping cart.

He fixates for a moment on the necklaces circling her throat, particularly a gold-plated one with 'Mine' imprinting over Bakugou’s favorite patch of freckles. It’s then he catches sight of something like a shadow on the wing of her collarbone.
It’s a bruise. Faded black and blue. Small as a kiss.
Or, Ochako infiltrates the League of Villains.

Fanfiction Recommendation: “Fat. Beautiful. Tasty. Ravenous” by MoofyKitten
Title: Fat. Beautiful. Tasty. Ravenous Author: MoofyKitten on AO3/FFN/Wattpad Fandom: BNHA/My Hero Academia Rating: M/MA for a reason. (Detailed sex in over half the posted chapters. Perv away only if you’re of age!) Pairing(s): Fat Gum [Toyomitsu Taishirou] / OFC Found on: AO3
Deets Expect some light spoilers and a mini-rant.
I am an unrepentant fanfiction addict; this is no secret. There are fics I read to wind down after a rough day, fics I read to put myself to sleep in hopes of pleasant dreams, and fics I read to tear my hear into teeny tiny fragments then build it back again better than before. THEN there are fics that don’t fit the mold – the kind that I become so invested in that I physically cannot put off reading that update. THIS, my lovelies, is one of THOSE fics, and it’s earned that place from the early chapters. This story has almost everything I need from a fanfiction, and I have a feeling the rest is just around the corner.
Let’s get the basics out of the way.
The Spelling, grammar, and punctuation are all excellent – I have yet to notice a single error, so either the author and her betas are a force to be reckoned with or I’m just getting so sucked into the story an elephant could sit on me and I’d never notice. The formatting is effective and easy to follow, and the chapters have all been of a nice meaty length, perfect for plowing through in a single sitting only to realize you missed a meal and it’s time for bed and your brain is hopelessly lost in ship-land daydreaming about what’s up next. ...wait, that’s just me? My bad.
Syntax – This one requires an entire section of its own. The fact that I’m having to actually think about how well the author’s varying their syntax says they’re effing nailing it. If a story’s syntax is at all static or the sentence even the slightest bit predictable, it’s easy enough for me to recall it because I’m mentally rearranging the bits that irk or don’t impress me as I read. I can’t even get through a bleepin’ news article or an online recipe without itching to push what I’m reading up to the standards my professors held. It sounds harsh, I know, but please take  my word for it when I say I’m not criticizing anyone. Suffice it to say, if my classes did anything, they made editing so instinctive I can’t turn it off. Confession: I have never found myself rearranging a single phrase in this masterpiece. Arguing with the characters? Encouraging the characters? Begging, pleading, and berating the characters for breaking my heart time and time again by stopping just short of the sugary fluff I can just smell right around the corner? Oh, Hell yes. I’ve done all of that and more, but I’ve never found myself with the urge to grab my red pen and strike out or scooch even a single word.
Something that strikes me about this story above others I’ve given the same rating (Spoiler: there are VERY FEW!) is the sheer variety of the scenes and environments. Sounds silly? Probably, but romances often develop a certain amount of location stagnation, and I know from personal experience how difficult it can be to bust through those patterns. (I mean, the majority of “A New Lease on Life” takes place in the Lair in some room, most commonly a bedroom, the lab, or the kitchen.) This story takes the couple off of familiar and ‘safe’ turf like homes and offices and drags them through countless other places without regard for their sense of comfort. Each scene feels real and multi-dimensional and directly or indirectly influences the characters’ behavior and reactions. It’s awesome. That’s a sign the author has done her people-watching!
Now, about that OC. I’ll readily admit, in the first chapter, I had my reservations. At first glance she seemed shallow, obsessed with appearances and her own view of the world, and – strange as it may sound – too skinny and too attractive. Yes, there’s some personal bias involved there, but the majority was practical rather than emotional. BUT! Because the writer of this story is the same who unleashed the beautiful Kacchako torment Hot-Headed upon me without a single breath of remorse, I gave Aiko a chance. Sure enough, my first impressions were entirely incorrect. The things that bothered me about Aiko? They all had explanation or purpose, and she’s turned out to be a pretty well-fleshed out character...pun intended. As the story progresses we’re seeing sides of her that I hoped for but didn’t expect and each chapter leaves me wondering what we’ll learn next.
Romantic connection. First word: “OOFTA.” The second word, I’d spell out, but it’s a shrill, wordless, begging whine that I cannot translate into English for the life of me. This pairing starts without any sort of romantic connection; it skips straight to the shenanigans and leaves hope that the snugglebunnies will follow eventually. Friends…if you’ve read any of my writing before, you’ll know that I. LIVE. For. The. FLUFF. The awkward mush, the sweaty palms, the am-I-gonna-barf-or-do-I-have-a-crush, the absolutely tooth-rotting sweetness capable of sending a reader headlong into diabetes with a dopey grin and heart eyes - they’re my crack and I love them. This story started with no fluff but it’s been slowly developing in the background. It’s an entirely new situation for me! I feel like I’ve gotten used to eating my dessert first then digging into an equally sweet dinner without a moment to cleanse my palate. This story? It’s like gorging on smoky, meaty St. Louie barbecue for weeks on end with literally just a smear of something sweet as an afterthought. Mind. Frackin’. BLOWN. It turns out I’m more masochistic as a reader than I ever suspected.
Another relationship I want to cover is the building friendship between Aiko and Fat Gum – because nope, she has not managed to mentally connect the half-starved Taishiro she’s climbing like a tree with the big-and-beautiful Fat Gum who owns the agency. Yep. She thinks she’s boning Fat’s beefy little brother. It’d be funny if my heart wasn’t whining for fluff. While frustrating to fluff-starved readers, Aiko not knowing the beefcake and the brother are one and the same provides an intriguing and natural way for her to build an actual relationship with him. This means none of the fetishistic bullarkey rampant in other stories pairing plus-sized male characters with OCs.
What sort of fetishistic bullarkey am I talking about? To name a handful: I love you so lose weight. I love you because you’re big. I’m fat too so it’s okay if we’re together. Blatant fat-fetish disguised as romance. Fat character’s life absolutely revolves around food and it’s gross/nvm it’s okay. Lastly, OC’s only chance at being loved by fat character is feeding them. Maybe to thin folks those don’t sound negative but to those of us who fit the description? NOPE. These don’t make healthy relationships. Using these can turn a well-meaning pairing toxic and frankly, it tends to piss off those of us who – GASP! - accept ourselves no matter our size. These...tropes, let’s call them, have made me hesitant to even try fiction involving plus sized male characters because I’ve been let down so many times. Finding plus sized female characters is easy, especially OCs, but appreciation for the chonky bois isn’t nearly as common. They need love too, dammit!
Ahem. Rant over.
As mentioned before, I ain’t seen any of that crap in this story. This author is treating Fat Gum like she would any other character instead of focusing on the fat. I wish with all my heart that more authors were capable of (and willing to) do the same with Fat Gum, and with other plus sized male characters. I can’t even put into words how much it means to me that she’s doing such a fantastic job portraying a character type that so many writers bungle without ever realizing it. I’ve needed this story my entire life and never realized it wasn’t there; I shudder to think of how long I might have been waiting for it if this author never found the inspiration to do so.
If I don’t shut up now, I fear I never will. I love this story that much. Moving on.
Warnings
Explicit sexual content – do NOT read this around your family unless you have a stronger will than I and can do so without creeping them out. (According to my husband, when I read smut I “look like a demented vulture staring down at a half-flattened ‘possum waiting for it to take its last breath,” complete with hunched shoulders and heavy breathing. Flattering, I know.) The smut scenes, while not my usual cuppa tea, wreck. My brain? Broke. Chapter four’s budding romance? It’s goin’ on my headstone ‘cuz I’m dead.
There are mentions of human trafficking and the future may include more about it. Slut-shaming comes up a few times because men are assholes and asshole exes are the ultimate assholes. Situational fat-shaming and lack of body confidence come up as Aiko comes to recognize Fat Gum for who he is instead of what he is; on the other end of the tag, Fat is also doing a lot of it to himself even when it isn’t spelled out. You can see it behind some of his reasoning in his POV chapters and since the writer is kickass at portraying thoughts and feelings without ever breaking out of restricted POV, you can also see hints in other chapters. That said, if the shaming was really bad without any redeeming purpose, I’d have noped my way right out’a that fic and never looked back. It has a purpose, and it’s not that bad. Give it a chance.
Recommendation level
This story lacks purple prose and excessive fluff, and I haven’t seen any signs of the pop culture, literary, and music references I love so dearly, but the rating remains the same:
Ten. Out. of. Farking. TEN!
YES! I’ve finally found another 10/10!!! A quick reminder for anyone who’s managed to not see my other reading recc posts, I don’t even need both hands to count off all the 10/10s I’ve read. Congratulations, Ms. MoofyKitten – your story rocks my world and I have an addiction I do not care to shake!

We’re Friends, Aren’t We?
Rating: T
Pairing: Kacchako (Bakuraka)/Bakugou Katsuki x Uraraka Ochako
Disclaimer: I don’t own My Hero Academia.
Word Count: 1766
Title: We’re Friends, Aren’t We?
Description: Kacchako One Shot – Fluff
Bakugou is jealous, and the truth comes out.
A/N: “We’re not just friends, and you fucking know it.” from this prompt list.
ffn || ao3
Katsuki
Where is she? She’s usually here by now.
I check the time again and look around the corner of the pillar I’m leaning against to see if she’s coming.
Dammit. I should just leave. This is stupid. I should be worrying about destroying Deku and Icy Hot in our practical exam, not waiting for a girl like some sappy idiot.
I start to walk off toward the main building when I pause. If I leave and she shows up looking for me, it’ll hurt her feelings.
What the fuck? Since when do I care about her feelings?
Now, this is just making me angry. I definitely should just go.
“Oh, hey, Bakugou, I almost didn’t see you there.” Kirishima appears next to me wearing his unfailing grin. “Are you going to class?”
“Do you think I’m an idiot?” I growl. “Of course, I’m going to class.”
“Okay. Well…are you waiting for someone?”
“No,” I answer instantly. “I’m just, uh…”
“Well, you should probably get going soon.” He adjusts his bag on his shoulder. “You don’t want to be late. I’ll walk with you if you want.”
“I can walk by myself,” I snap.
“All right, well then…see you in class.”
He walks off, and I see Ashido run up next to him, talking excitedly.
I check my watch again and frown. I really do need to leave soon if I’m not going to be in trouble with Mr. Aizawa. The last thing I need is to fall even further behind because of something dumb like being late.
Still. We’ve been meeting up every morning before class to walk together… I mean, it started when she insisted on walking with me one day last month. And then twice again the next week, even though I kept telling her to knock it off. But now, it feels wrong to walk without her.
I sort of thought our classmates would suspect something was up, but apparently, they’re all as dumb as they look. Not that anything is happening between us. At least, not technically. It’s not like we’re dating or some shit. She’s just the annoying girl I walk to class with.
“Come on, Deku! We have to hurry.”
I jerk at the voice and look toward it only to see her bouncing down the sidewalk.
With him.
“Oh, yeah, Uraraka. You’re right. We really don’t want to be late, or Mr. Aizawa will be mad for sure.”
I watch as they rush past me. Together. Completely oblivious to my presence.
My blood is boiling in my veins. I clench my hands into fists, and I fight with everything I have not to level the entire 1-A dorm with my quirk.
How could she bail on me for that green-haired loser? Without even a second thought? She’s supposed to walk with me. That’s how it works. We’ve walked together every day this week. Granted, some of those times were also with other people, but still. We had an understanding.
God, this pisses me off.
I grind my teeth as I sling my bag over my shoulder and start toward the main building. Kirishima asked if I was going to class, and I am, but fuck. If I could afford to skip and not fall behind those other idiots, I would. That and I wouldn’t know how to explain my absence to Mr. Aizawa. What would I even say? That I’m late because a girl wouldn’t walk with me?
What the hell is wrong with me? Did I really consider skipping class just because some girl? That’s fucking pathetic!
“I am not pathetic,” I growl, shoving my hands in my pockets and walking faster.
And yet, when I get to class, I’m still pissed.
Ochako
“Hey, Uraraka?”
“Hmm?” I look up from my notes to see Sato leaning across the aisle. “What?”
“Did you have a fight with Bakugou?” he whispers.
“What? No, why?”
“’Cause he keeps looking over here, and he has that face like he’s ready to kill someone.”
“Isn’t that just his regular face?” I hear Todoroki murmur softly from Sato’s other side.
“No, this one is way more intense.”
I frown, and steal a glance toward the far side of the room, craning my neck to see around everyone. I freeze when I meet Bakugou’s gaze for a split second before quickly looking away.
“Yeah,” I mutter. “He definitely seems angrier than usual.”
“Do you know why?”
I press my lips together and try to think.
“No… I don’t think so.”
Mr. Yamada clears his throat loudly, and we quickly turn back to our notes, abandoning the conversation.
But I can’t get it out of my head. I mean, why would Bakugou be angry at me? I didn’t do anything. At least, not that I know of.
The bell rings to dismiss the class for lunch, and I begin to gather up my things.  I stop to look up when a shadow falls over my desk.
“Oh, hi, Bakugou.” I ignore the annoying waver in my voice.
“Cut the crap. I saw you looking at me.”
I blink and slide out of my seat, reaching down to grab my bag. Gosh, where did everyone else go? And why does he have to be standing so close?
“I don’t know what you mean,” I lie terribly, trying to move past him, toward the door.
“Yes, you do,” he snarls.
“Okay, so I was looking at you. So what?”
“Why?”
“Why?” I echo, a frown forming in my forehead.
“Why were you looking at me?”
“Because Sato said you were glaring at me,” I answer loudly, my patience wearing thin. “And you were,” I add, “so actually, it’s me who should be interrogating you!”
He scowls and starts to walk off. “I don’t have time for this bullshit.”
“Hey, no, wait!” I call after him. “Are you angry at me?”
When he doesn’t answer, I follow him, reaching out to grab his hand. He spins around immediately, violently pulling out of my grasp. I take a step back and stare at him as he gives me a murderous look.
“Don’t touch me!”
“I’m sorry,” I say softly. “I was just…” I close my eyes and take a deep breath. “I just want to know why you’re acting this way?”
“I fucking waited for you.”
I blink in confusion.
“What?”
“This morning,” he says, his tone vibrating with rage.
“You… This morning?” I shake my head. “I don’t understand.”
“I was waiting outside the dorm for you. I thought… You were supposed to walk with me.”
“Supposed to walk… I walked with Deku this morning.”
“I know,” he rumbles.
“Wait. What do you mean I was ‘supposed’ to walk with you?”
He turns his face away, and I almost wonder if he’s blushing. But that’s stupid.
“I thought we had an agreement,” he says quietly, “to walk to class together, but then, today, you showed up with that loser!”
“Deku is my friend!” I say over him. “Don’t call him a loser! And it’s not like you ever told me you wanted to walk with me! How was I supposed to know?”
“You know what? You’re right!” He throws his hands up. “I’m an idiot! Why the hell would I want to walk with you anyway?”
“Okay, that’s completely unfair!” I shout back. “Deku is my friend just the same as you! You have no right to act…to act–”
“To act how?”
“Jealous!”
His mouth snaps shut, and I feel the silence between us like it has its own gravity.
“I mean, we’re friends, aren’t we?” I ask finally. “I…I thought you were my friend.”
“We’re not just friends, and you fucking know it.”
“What?” I gasp.
“Oh, come on, Uraraka.” He sighs, crossing his arms. “Do you really think I’m friends with any of the morons in this class?”
“What about Kirishima?”
“He’s an exception,” he mumbles. “I can’t get rid of him.”
“Well, what about Todoroki? Or Yaoyorozu? And Kaminari?”
“They’re not my friends,” he scoffs. “They’re people I attend class with. My competition. That’s it.”
“Okay, fine.” I sigh. “Where are you going with this? Are you trying to tell me you’re not my friend? I don’t–”
“I don’t do friends,” he repeats firmly. “And…fuck, this is so stupid.”
“Fine by me,” I announce. “I’m going to lunch.”
I have no idea what is happening in this conversation, but it doesn’t feel like anything good, so I’m happy to leave.
“No, don’t,” he calls after me, a strain, almost like pain, in his voice. “I…”
I watch silently as he jerks his head to the side before turning back to me and focusing on a spot over my head.
“I… I’m sorry I’m… It’s not that I don’t want to be friends, I just… I like you, okay?”
“You what?” I echo softly.
“You heard me,” he growls. “And…if you laugh at me, I swear to God, I’ll blow this classroom sky high.”
“I would never laugh at you about that,” I tell him honestly.
“Good.” He barks.
“And, since we’re talking about it, I… I guess I sort of like you too.”
He gives me a skeptical look and his frown deepens.
“You’re just saying that to make me feel less stupid.”
“Actually, I’m not,” I glare at him. God, why did I have to fall for such a hothead? “Why would I lie about that?”
It’s quiet for a minute where we just stare at each other, neither of us willing to concede. My eyes are watering when he finally ends it.
“Okay. Whatever,” he says brusquely as he turns to leave.
“Does this mean you’re going to walk me to class tomorrow?” I call after him, swiping under my eyes.
He pauses before looking over his shoulder. “Yeah, I guess,” he answers with his usual apathy. “Just don’t be late.”
I smile to myself as butterflies erupt in my stomach.
“And don’t bring Deku!”
He disappears down the hall, and I reach up to feel my burning face. What just happened? I mean…did Bakugou really just… And did I actually say… I mean are we…
Are we a couple?
My stomach flips, and it’s suddenly really hard to breathe. Is this normal? I don’t understand.
A bell rings somewhere, and I’m suddenly reminded I’m supposed to be at lunch. Grabbing my bag, I adjust it on my shoulder, and start for the cafeteria. I’m not sure why though. It’s not like I’ll be able to eat anything.
Not when all I can think about is how Bakugou waited for me.

Barkugo ; Kacchako
Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia/My Hero Academia Rating: T Status/Length: Complete 1/1 ; 3,897 words Links: FFN ; AO3 Summary: His eyes darted down, and instead of seeing his hands like he’d expected, there were fucking paws covered in fur, and what was worse was that they were tiny. Bakugo screamed with frustration, which came out as a high-pitched howl and only made him scream louder. A/N: This is 110% the fault of @tipsyraconteur, who spammed me with angry pomeranian gifs after I told her I almost wanted to write a fic with Bakugo as an actual angry pomeranian. It was really fun to write, though, so I hope you guys enjoy! :D

omg it's finally finished......at 13.5k........... so without further ado, here's the most self indulgent thing i have literally ever written, my kacchako vrains au, for @kacchakoweek day 0: au
title: by meeting you, the world is in color
word count: 13,657
summary: "Three reasons to keep going," he whispered to himself as he went through the motions of setting up a Link VRAINS account. "One: I have to know about what happened, and why it's so secret." A deep breath, and then: "Two: I have to do this so I can move on." Another deep breath. "Three: I have to find her. I have to save her."
