I am looking for a fic where there's the monster of the week (it's maybe an incubus?) and it shifts to look like stiles. It convinces derek to not turn him into the rest of the pack. Derek agrees just to be able to be with 'stiles.' scott i think figures it out? And tells derek that it would have slowly killed him.

Derek hates touch because of Kate and flinches whenever someone touches him. But Stiles does this thing where he never touches Derek, instead he lets his hand hover around him, allowing for Derek to initiate the contact if he wants to. Oh! And Cora’s alive and I’m pretty sure the one who notices this. She ends up confronting Stiles about it at some point. I know it’s pretty short, just one chapter/ a one-shot, and around 5,000 words. I think, I could be wrong.

Hi! Could you please help me find this fic where Derek is an alpha but of like the whole town I think? Or something. Basically it's young Derek x Stiles, Derek is part of the basketball team and they end up going on like a trip for a basketball game. Stiles tags along and they end up staying at a motel (they share a room). At some point it's Stiles’ Mothers death anniversary and Derek brings him fast food back from his jog. And I'm like 90% certain that there's like a bonfire at the back of the motel and Derek brings out his guitar infront of everyone and starts singing abt his crush on Stiles.

Okay sooo, young Derek x Stiles but the hale family are still alive. There's this whole thing about them both promising to have a starwars marathon. Derek also draws a lot in this sketchbook thing, he's like rlly private abt it but stiles ends up looking in it and finding a drawing of both him and Derek. Then Derek kind of wolfs out? He like loses control a bit and is afraid of hurting Stiles. OH! And then there's another bit where theyre playfighting in the Hales' kitchen and Derek pins Stiles down and stiles gets really embarrassed abt it. And then at the end there's like a really cute line abt their hearts beating as one 🥺🥺

Hey! I hope you or your followers can help me out but I've been wracking my brain on this one for awhile trying to remember this fic where everyone loses their memory of Stiles' existence but this is where I get fuzzy on the details. first off THANK YOU 🥺!!! i appreciate your kind words so much <3 i really enjoy worldbuilding in my own writing and i'm very glad the ideas i bungle up translate well when actually in a story :'^) in my own little brainworld where i daydream, i tend to add details and layers to the original story that i do like... question if i can execute. so it is always nice to hear that they do in fact make it through 😭💓

as for advice!!

anon. so transparently. so REAL-y. if you have the brainworms for a story, even if its big and complicated and a lot to chew on it, just start!!! it is so intimidating truly but there is no better writing fuel than the muse of a story that has captured you. and!! if it does not end up finished, that is totally okay!! i have personally learned some of most valuable lessons writing while working on large pieces that ultimately ended up unfinished.

for more material advice:

when working on fic, i keep a lot of notes in a personal discord server. i have a wip channel and threads for certain fic ideas where i compile plot details, world details, fanart and inspo photos. it's super helpful!!!

one thing that helps me when i have big grand worlds in my head and i need to get them down and written is, instead of choosing to take a bite out of the whole world itself, i try to choose just a snippet or event and build around that. for example, in cicatrix, you get LOTS of lore abt calibrators and their relationship to the luofu, but plenty of what i had spinning around in my noggin didn't make it down. it wasn't relevant to the immediate story, event, or conflict, so it stayed unspoken. however, i think having really rich background going INTO writing these snippets of a larger universe helps fill things out and seem more like... lived in.

i will say. so indispensable. BETA READERS. the first few drafts of cicatrix where so ROUGH when it came to world building. i had the whole lore of calibrators and the luofu in my head, but getting it down clearly and in a way that made enough sense to an unknowing audience took a few read throughs and feedback by some lovely friends of mine. i highly recommend tracking down someone to read over your pieces and provide feedback on the things you're worried about!!!

and like... perhaps a little corny. but. believe in yourself. we are our own greatest critics, and the best attitude to cultivate toward the craft is that you can... do it. you just can. innately anon, regardless of experience, you can create the story and world you want to. bolstering a sense of confidence goes FAR esp if you end up writing a longer piece!!!

Mr. H actually keeps Tails away from violence and stuff. Cuz if it's one thing that Mr. H wants for his kid, is a childhood. He knows that littlest things of violence, or wrong choice of words can stick with a child, and form as a way of mental/verbal trauma. So Mr. H tries his best to keep his son away from that stuff. Mr. H actually covers this said violent stuff up, by explaining it in a much more 'friendly' way, and silly too. Makin it fun for the kid, yaknow?

Hello, Fox here! Sorry it took so long to answer this ask! I've been busy as hell, LMAO. But, hey! I'm glad you could join the bandwagon of Jasonnie enjoyers and enablers! There are a lot more of us than I realized, haha! Also, thank you for enjoying our fics! Even though we're not on the Jasonnie fixation as of late, it's always really fun to hear everyone else enjoying these dorks!

As for your question: Personally, I adore the Autistic!Donnie Headcanon and write him autistic in all my stories, intentional or not! Parallel play is definitely something they both just clicked on without having to say a word throughout the entirety of their relationship.

In our fics, Jason grew up in a household that disregarded his existence in nearly every sense of the word. So, after they get along and spend most of their time together? Jason enjoys it when they're doing their own things, sharing space since it's so similar to what he's used to while also being everything he's never given freely. Jason's used to blending into the background and not disturbing those around him. But with Donnie, he actually gets to share the space, to co-exist with him without fear that he's being too much or doing too little. There's no need to overanalyze and second-guess things.

Donnie's family has definitely existed in spaces together, especially when Donnie is working. But there's a significant difference between your siblings trying to help out, asking what you're doing, and getting you to build something for them, and when a kid simply blends into the space like nothing has changed. It's not like his family is constantly obnoxious, but brothers can sometimes be like that. Plus, Jason's smart, he shares the same level of knowledge with Donnie even if it isn't in the same subjects or skills, but he still blends in with Donnie's world instead of sticking out against it like his family does, if that makes sense?

It's like a mix of comforts and mutual unsaid understandings between them. They know how this shared space goes, and they both enjoy how the other exists naturally, so it's like a safe little bubble that they can get wrapped up in sometimes.

I would probably have more Jason and Autistic!Donnie Headcanons to share, but honestly, most of my Autistic!Donnie Headcanons are for my other fic series, and I have yet to think about these boys through that lens in a hot minute! (Any Autistic!Donnie-related Jasonnie ideas that are floating in my head are from the amazing people on the Jasonnie Discord Server and not my own.)

But a scene I think about a lot is Donnie and Jason cooking together. The two of them bond over their Asian Cultures, sharing their foods with each other, especially modified ones, to ensure the taste and texture doesn't disturb or overstimulate Donnie.

Also! Jason knowing his meltdown routine after a year of them being together is definitely something that delights me to no end. Knowing that when you're in that place and know you have someone you can trust to know exactly what you need and always try and follow that for you no matter how worried or hurt they may be in that moment? Because your health comes first, and they understand that? That everything that may have happened before can always be dealt with later? Fucking masterful; it means everything to me.

I do have to apologize, dear anon, for the more vague Headcanons, though? As I said before, it's been a moment since I truly obsessed over these two, but I hope I answered your question? If you have more, I'm more than happy to ramble about them and talk about them! <3

OK so. i love my family. they’re incredibly supportive of me and i’m pretty sure they’d all kill for me. that being said. the casual acephobia i get from my parents ANY DAMN TIME i talk about my sexuality (or lack thereof) is fucking exhausting and so invalidating and it sucks.

like for example: tonight i was explaining to my brother why i don’t masturbate (basically just saying “i get nothing out of it and i find it either boring or uncomfortable depending”) bc he fell into that stupid youtube nofap trend that’s literally just repackaged evangelicalism but that’s a different conversation. anyways my dad jokingly goes “yeah she’s crazy, you’re just holding yourself back” and it made me want to kill him. haha funny. i’m crazy for not wanting to participate in something that makes me ACTIVELY UNCOMFORTABLE. thanks. and i point out to him like “hey let’s not equate my asexuality [still questioning where i fall on the spectrum but yanno] with being crazy please and thank you” and he kinda acknowledged it but not really. so the conversation moved on and i started talking about my personal reasons to avoid masturbating n porn again and then my MOM chimes in with the ever so lovely “hey i’m not trying to say you’re wrong but have you ever considered that you may just want to have sex later?” oh my GOD i was annoyed the first time but this brought tears to my eyes. i, trying not to choke up too hard, said “yes that’s why i waited for so long before using the label but i’m ace right now and that’s what matters” and attempted to move on. i knew i couldn’t so i quickly let the conversation end and went out to our garage where i cried for like. a solid… idk 10 minutes? 20? i have no perception of time but it was a bit. the “what if you change your mind” has always been the piece of internalized aphobia picking at my brain and it actively kept me from letting myself just be acespec despite the fact that i’ve probably known for years. i think i first questioned in jr high. worst part is they don’t even REALIZE how hurtful it is to say those things. so I have to be the one to educate them and i’m so TIRED of it. i love explaining things but god i should not have to justify my existence to you!!! why does it matter what i choose to do with myself it doesn’t affect you i have autonomy!!!! like. do they WANT me to make myself feel unsafe by “biting the bullet” and having sex when i don’t wanna? of course not! but the shit they say tells me they’re subconsciously thinking it!! it’s so so fucking invalidating and it makes me wanna cry/scream. if even my horniest of friends can be perfectly chill with and normal about my asexuality then my parents can too. it’s not that hard they already knew i was queer before i learned abt this part of it. you wouldn’t tell a lesbian “hey how do you know you’re not attracted to men if you haven’t slept with one” but APPARENTLY it’s fine to tell me “how do you know you’re ace if you’ve never had sex” oh i don’t know maybe because i’m almost an adult now and i have NEVER ONCE FELT HORNY OR HAD A DESIRE TO BED SOMEONE I FOUND ATTRACTIVE ????? I am four days late to this but first of all - 

Mood!! I really do be out here sobbing over Dia at 1am bc apparently when I’m trying to sleep my brain goes “so, hey, you know that game you’re obsessed with? How About We Have Some Thoughts”, and then I am UNABLE to sleep until I think abt it. I am glad I am also subjecting you to 1am sob fests over our dear, sweet prince. 

Second of all - 

Honestly I genuinely love the concept of Dia and MC spending... well. Any amount of time together. I went over this once before, I think, but I’m very into the headcanon that there are probably laws about stopping demons from openly and casually approaching Diavolo - initially bc he’s the prince, and there usually are laws regarding that, but now bc I can imagine that’s another way his father tried to “protect” him in his youth. It’s a very restrictive thing, and it means he can only spend time with other demons in formal settings under strict regulations. 

Since most demons know of these laws, he has a hard time convincing anyone to break them. Why would they? Even if the King is asleep, Barbatos and Lucifer are still around to discourage them from even making the attempt - which is, in some ways, even worse than potentially crossing a line under the ever-observant eye of a suffocating father. Beyond that, he’s the prince. There’s a sort of taboo that comes with it, a feeling of general wrongness; befriending the prince isn’t something any ol’ demon should do. So, really, it’s just awkward having him try and talk to them all the time. 

But then there’s MC. A human left to fend not-so-entirely for themself in a world they had no idea existed prior to their arrival in the Devildom. 

And everyone knows humans are pack animals. Humans need pack around them to thrive. Maybe not a large group of people; maybe not their family; maybe not every single day. But isolation is seen as a form of torture in the Human World, and humans even buy small creatures to keep them company when they live alone. 

So he hopes, without full expectation, that maybe this is the right setting for him to finally find someone willing to break those laws. That maybe, if he posits himself as a potential friend - if he reaches out, invites them in, remembers all of their likes and dislikes and everything in between - they might see it as worth the risk. They might see him as worth the trouble and effort.

Except, there’s something he forgot - something important, something obvious, that he really should have considered from the start. They don’t know about the Devildom’s laws. They don’t know that there’s anything to risk in sending him a snarky message, or siddling up to him without warning in the halls at R.A.D. 

He isn’t prepared for how quickly they come to him. He thinks it might take weeks, maybe even months, before he can get them to visit the castle for hours at a time under the guise of work - but within the first few days, they’re already making him laugh so boistrously it makes his stomach hurt, one hand resting on his arm for balance as they double over in fits of giggles.

Within weeks, they’re lounging beside him on the sofa in his room, cradling a glass of something irrelevant as they gesture wildly with a story that has him enraptured beyond belief. Weeks after that, they’re inviting him out for tea, asking if he’d like to join them because they’d thought of him as soon as they’d seen the sign. 

And the entire time, they touch him so casually. They run their fingers through his hair when he’s slumped over his desk, face hidden in the fold of his arms; they squish his cheeks together when they tease him, claiming he looks like a fish when they press hard enough to make his lips pout; they nudge their shoulder against his arm as they walk through R.A.D.’s halls, flashing him a tiny smile when he turns his attention towards them; they slouch against him when they sit together, now pressed so much closer with comfort and familiarity. 

It’s so much more than he’s ever gotten, and he thrives. 

He thrives because they let him buy them gifts, never once complaining or implying that he’s more a nuisance than anything else.  

He thrives because they visit him without need for some kind of ruse, willing to spend time in his company for nothing more than the joy of being together. 

He thrives because they think of him; because they remember as much about him as he does about them; because they surprise him with his favourite treats when he’s feeling overwhelmed, and offer to help for no other reason than a desire to ease his burdens.

I love the concept of Diavolo finding his first real, true, genuine friend in MC. One that stays because they want to, not because they had to. One that sees him the same way he sees them. One that lets him have everything he never got to experience growing up as Devildom royalty, everything he’s been desperately searching for his entire life. One that lets him know what it feels like to be normal. 

Because I love the image of Diavolo realising what it’s like to just... cuddle with someone. To have someone lean back against his chest or lay themself across his lap. To have that overwhelming moment of contact and comfort when MC so casually, so naturally, settles into him. Because he’s their friend, and that’s what human friends do.

So this is based off of Arthurian lore and has some elements of it but it’s mostly (?) original!

It starts out in a normal high school setting, centered around these two kids named Elin and Niro. Niro’s had a life of total misfortune—his parents died when he was little and there was nobody else to take him in, so he was forced into foster care, and has switched schools so often that he never really got to make any permanent friendships. He’s a quiet guy, sort of weighed down by all of the loss he’s experienced, so that sort of makes him a mysterious and attractive sort of person, which gains him immediate popularity as the school’s handsome new kid. (He’s in his senior year, now, and has been at this school for almost the full year.) Despite his withdrawn personality Niro actually gets along well with his peers, but mostly because he’s a very agreeable sort of person that just goes along with what he’s told to do to fit in. He’s just going through the motions at this point, trying to survive and figure out what he wants to do in life. It isn’t really working out too well because Niro has major depression so every day is a struggle, but his current “guardian” at the foster home he’s staying in helps a lot with that, and Niro views her as sort of a mother figure to him, and it’s soft :’)

Elin, on the other hand, is the school’s laughingstock, and gets picked on a LOT by his classmates. He never fights back and tries to stay out of everybody’s way, so people think him even weirder because of it. He rarely talks and is always found with his nose stuck in a book, which has also labeled him as a major geek, so you can bet he gets targeted a lot because of this;;

Unfortunately, the kids that Niro’s friends with are the group that picks on Elin the most, and it always makes Niro uncomfortable but he’s too hesitant to really speak up about it, especially since Elin just. Sort of takes it and never outwardly complains. It’s basically just Niro making excuses to himself, and whenever he DOES try to talk his buddies out of it they’re like come on man we’re just joking around it’s not a big deal. So that sucks. One day when Niro’s walking to school he notices he’s being followed by a weirdly dressed girl. Eventually she corners him and she’s like “Merlin’s been taking too long to find you so I took things into my own hands since we’re running out of time” and Niro’s like ???? Excuse me? But she doesn’t explain and literally yanks him into a portal and that’s that. LMAO

When they emerge, the girl introduces herself as Lunete, and reveals that she’s taken Niro to the world of Avilion, in the kingdom of starlight called Inlustria. Niro’s still processing that he’s been pulled into another world entirely when Lunete begins to escort him to the castle, and pretty much dumps the world’s lore and his Destiny™️ on him on the way.

Lunete explains that there have always been two central figures in Inlustria, for many centuries across many generations. Those figures are Merlin, the wizard, and Arthur, the king meant to wield the holy sword and unify the five kingdoms on the continent together. Currently there are two Merlins, with the second being younger and newer to the position, still in training. However, she adds that this particular Merlin is the most powerful they’ve ever seen in the long history of Merlins to exist, and that he’s basically a child prodigy. It is Merlin’s task to watch over, guide and protect Arthur, so that peace can remain and the cycle can continue anew. The current Arthur is sadly old and very ill, practically on his deathbed, so the process of choosing a new Arthur to replace him had to be rushed.

Lunete then tells Niro that the Arthurs are chosen by fate before birth and are always humans from the other world. Arthurs are always loyal, confident and kindhearted, so there’s never a chance of an Arthur going astray (unless their Merlin purposefully leads them down that path). Niro’s like why are you telling me all this and Lunete goes well isn’t it obvious? Why else would I be telling you. And then Niro realizes that he has been chosen as the new Arthur, and immediately goes into panic mode. Lunete apologizes for the abrupt introduction and Avilion crash course lol but she says that usually it’s the Merlin’s job to remain in the human world, scout out the new Arthur, and bring them to Avilion, since they’re naturally drawn to them by their magic. But this Merlin is particularly stubborn and wants nothing to do with Arthur or his born duty to essentially serve the king, so he’s been stalling on locating him out of sheer spite.

Lunete and Niro arrive at the castle and she leads him into the grand library, where Merlins usually spend most of their time. Niro is shocked to find out that Elin is Merlin, and Elin immediately goes “You have GOT to be kidding me” when he realizes that the new Arthur—who he has to spend the rest of his life with btw—is Niro.

Niro’s even more shocked to find out that Elin is a completely different person than how he is at school. Elin is witty, arrogant and very sassy, and constantly throws shade at Niro for doing nothing while he was being bullied. (Niro then accuses Elin for not standing up for himself when he’s CLEARLY capable of it with both his silver tongue and his knack for magic, but Elin explains that it’s a rule for Merlins not to make a big presence of themselves in the human world. Then Niro feels very guilty.) Elin swears off of accepting Niro as the new Arthur and says he can protect the kingdom all on his own.

Naturally Niro is very reluctant to take on the position of Arthur and become the ruler of an entire kingdom, but Lunete tells him he doesn’t really have a choice, and that all Arthurs fall into the role eventually, so it will be something he’ll automatically adapt to because he’s The Chosen One and it’s meant to be. Niro continuously tries to reach out to Merlin, but he’s notoriously stubborn and refuses to acknowledge Niro.

Eventually Lunete lets slip that Merlin had a complicated history with another human in his childhood that ended...not so well (and no it’s not Esca lol), hence his general distaste towards the other world and humans in general. Ofc that’s not all Merlin is hiding, there’s another enormous secret he doesn’t want coming into the light. And you bet Niro’s going to discover them all ;)

So yeah there’s obviously a lot more that goes on after that—Niro trains to fit into the Arthur role (with a lot of sexy swordfighting training montages), Merlin eventually accepts him and they grow closer (yes. In that way ;D), Merlin shows off how skilled he is with his magic and Niro goes oh no I think I might be in love with him, there’s trouble with the northern kingdom they’re trying to deal with involving a new villain that’s popped up, Niro gets to meet a king from the southern kingdom who sort of becomes his father figure/mentor so that’s cool? Niro finds out exactly what sins Merlin committed in the past, and that past sadly catches up with him and nearly ruins everything so that’s fun. Niro finds out some shit and almost abandons his role as Arthur but eventually returns to Inlustria and obtains Excalibur to save Merlin’s ass, etc. etc. I think after the “main” story ends I’m going to send them out to sea so they can go on an epic magic pirate adventure, because when Niro was a kid he was super into pirates and treasure hunting and the ocean, he was never really a “magic and kingdoms” type of guy which is super ironic. Merlin’s excited about traveling but it turns out he’s really seasick and it’s hilarious. Somewhere down the line they’ll probably find out why there’s always been a “Merlin” and “Arthur” role in their kingdom as well. So LOTS of fun stuff is in store! And my brain hasn’t been shutting up about lore and worldbuilding for this story ever since I came up with it >;)

Corn i have so many thoughts running through my head..Im curious on why you think some of us have Anime Comfort charas despite the comfort charas may be bad people? What do we / our brains find so comforting abt them? Im sure if i told a DL fan my comfort chara it would weird them out lmao.

As for the DL boys specifically, at least they can be redeemable at times. You’re able to see their development over time—and especially in Laito’s case—the complexity of their emotions.

If people get weirded out that your comfort character is a DL one, then fuck them dude. It’s something that gives you comfort, and it’s fictional. It’s not like you support actual nonconsensual actions, and it’s not like they’re real people. People who have crushes on legitimate serial killers are more of an issue and I can’t believe they exist.

Heck, I have comfort characters and I’m almost 20 years old, like it doesn’t really go away easily since it’s just a comfort thing. Laito is definitely one of my comfort characters too, and he initially became my comfort character because I was exploring my sexuality at the time and since he seemed so sexually free, I was like “yoooooo.” Even though I definitely was too young to be thinking about stuff like that—but hey that’s in the past. He became more of a comfort character of mine when I figured out more about him and when I first felt sexual trauma due to some situations. And I could relate to him on certain things. I know I’m giving my own personal example in this to explain this, so I apologize :’)

But! Enough about me! Lemme explain the science of comfort characters!

I know I’ve explained the amygdala before in my Laito/Cordelia analysis, but that’s not only where empathy is processed in your brain. It’s called the right supramarginal gyrus! The amygdala is used to recognize emotions in order for empathy to occur (and also helps with how much empathy we produce at a time) along with some other stuff. But the right supramarginal gyrus helps with filling in the gaps of a person’s emotions and also reading body language, tone of voice, etc. It’s probably the part of my brain that fires every time I analyze Laito haha.

Fictional characters in a series have a lot revealed about themselves, whether it’s confiding in another character that they trust, or we personally see their inner flashbacks. If they were real, they’d most likely not reveal those stuff about themselves to an average person. Think of it as dramatic irony in real life, I guess. For example, Yui’s incredibly distraught by Laito and has little empathy for him initially (sure her empathy for him develops because of other reasons) and we do because we find out what happened to Laito. Same goes for the other boys. It’s why we’re able to latch onto that since we know stuff about them. Headcanons are to fill in the gaps that we don’t know about characters (through deduction) and it’s an attempt of our brains making them “whole.” It’s why we all have different comfort characters because we find more empathy in some things more than others; just considering we all have different personalities and experiences.

I’m not gonna rant too much about this but funnily enough I did find an article on this. It’s a pretty long read but it goes into my favorite hobby-topics: neurobiology, psychology, and philosophy. - sam is a criminal working for the power broker aka sharon while bucky or in this case, the winter soldier, was a test experiment for HYDRA / is now an assassin + bodyguard for their leader, alexander pierce

- sharon is conducting business w hydra to obtain some weapons and idk black market stuff which forces her to go to siberia, but obviously the ultimate weapon she wants to take home is the infamous winter soldier

- she asks sam to pretend to be her butler/bodyguard but is actually hiring him to get information on the winter soldier program and obtain the code words needed to control them

- they end up staying in pierce's mansion in like a really remote place in siberia

- sam gets acquainted w the other butlers and housekeepers, they tell him that the area is haunted because they would always hear a man screaming just before daybreak followed by complete silence. they also tell him that the forest is haunted by the spirit of a man who killed himself there

- just like the housekeepers said, sam wakes around 3-4 in the morning to the sound of a man screaming followed by complete silence

- anyways the next morning he accompanies sharon to her first meeting w hydra officials, and that's where he encounters bucky

- after the meeting, sharon is all like, "change of plans. we're going to steal the winter soldier." sam's like "and who's that?", "the person u were standing next to earlier,"

- afterwards, sam starts to spy on bucky. he doesn't talk much, sam notices, actually scratch that this man does not talk period

- they were standing by the door a few feet away from where their bosses were talking. "so uh, what do i call you?" sam asks one day, but bucky is like a statue, his response being a mere blink

- sharon and pierce always have their business meetings in the morning, but they also have spend time at night, usually supper or dinner, that's more casual. sam notices that pierce's bodyguard is less stiff and more human during the later hours of the day

- sam and bucky are again standing by the door. "what do i call you?" bucky asks quietly, almost like a whisper. "uh sam, you can call me sam. and you?"

- he freezes for a while before replying, "james barnes"

- another thing that sam notices is that bucky is NEVER alone. either he's with pierce or he's escorted by other bodyguards (who look like they couldn't even take him down altogether)

- one morning, after the usual distant screams, sam decides to figure out where the screams were actually coming from. he goes to the main house, pretending to bring tea for sharon (there's a small camera hidden in the tray)

- he sees the usual group of bodyguards escorting a half-naked and disheveled bucky from the stairs to the basement. when they see him, the group looks like a pack of deers in headlights, one of them reaches for their gun, "i'm bringing tea for ms. carter," he quickly says.

- "go ahead," the leader, rumlow, says, "but next time use the main hallway will you?"

- "right, she just said it was faster this way, and she's really peculiar about the temperature of her tea."

- he shows the video to sharon and she's like "i need u to find out wtf is going on in that basement."

- one night, sharon and pierce are having dinner tgt "since we're on the topic of legends and fairytales, i have to ask about something," sharon says,

- "go, on," pierce replies

- "the winter soldier program, does it really exist?"

- the hydra leader chuckles, "i was wondering when you would ask that," then points toward bucky, "my dear, you're looking at the winter soldier."

- sam listens in on the conversation. the winter soldier program was a program created by hydra in the 1940s with the first successful test subject being an american ww2 soldier named steve rogers. apparently he was given this serum that made him super strong and for 10 years, while the other test subjects were cryogenically frozen, hydra worked to find ways to control him but failed and they had to keep him restrained most of the time.

- one night, rogers broke out of the facility, stole all the remaining formulas, and threw them away before blowing his brains out in the nearby forest

- after rogers' suicide, hydra brought out its second test subject, bucky barnes, and used the remaining serum on him. afterwards hydra froze him again while they worked on something to keep his mind under control.

- around the 1960s they created the trigger words and since then they've been using bucky to do their dirty work for them. "this, my dear, is our greatest creation." pierce says as he approaches a stand displaying a red book. "his trigger words. say them and he will do anything you want. if you need some errands taken care of, i'd be happy to lend him to you. we can talk about the costs later."

- "i don't have anything i can't take care of myself at the moment, but i'll keep that offer in mind." sharon replies

- now sharon's like "okay we HAVE to steal him and the codes." she figured out that all of the mansion's surveillance turns off for an hour to reboot from 1 AM to 2, and tells sam to basically go to the basement and manipulate bucky when he's not under hydra's control. "make him trust you, that way we won't have much of a fuss taking him to madripoor."

- that night, after the clock strikes 1, sam sneaks into the basement and finds a cell with bucky inside. there's a bed, well, more like a mattress, but bucky's not sleeping on it. instead he's sitting in a corner, head against the wall, knees tucked in his chest, hyperventilating and,,,crying???

- "hey," sam whispers, "you okay?"

- the winter soldier stares at him with red rimmed eyes and a tear stricken face. "you're sam, you're her bodyguard."

- "yeah and you're the winter soldier, or do you prefer james?"

- "bucky. it's bucky"

- yeah basically sam visits bucky's cell every night for exactly 45 minutes before he has to sneak back out. he tries to gain bucky's trust and manipulate him but guess what they fall in love surprise surprise

- bucky tells sam his true story. how he and steve used to be ww2 soldiers that were experimented on by hydra. he remembers being frozen and the first thing he sees when they woke him up was steve's dead body. "they told me he shot his head in the forest." the first thing he felt was pain as they injected the serum into his veins then tried to erase his memories. he remembers going into cryo and being woken up over and over again to kill someone or destroy something.

- he also tells sam about the one night he broke out, ran as fast as he could, and jumped off a cliff, only for him to survive. he lost an arm, but hydra replaced it with another weapon. "i thought i would end there, but i just became more of a weapon"

- so sam starts to feel unsure about stealing the winter soldier bc goddamnit bucky's a person and he doesnt deserve any of this.

- also the more time he spends with bucky the more he realises that the actual james bucky barnes is a fucking piece of shit that still uses 40s slang and petnames and makes outdated jokes and is actually a big fucking flirt.

- and sam's heart breaks every time he looks at bucky's crestfallen face when he realises that their 45 minutes are over

- of all the people he could fall in love with, it just had to be a brainwashed assassin

- sharon tells him that in a few days, she and pierce will leave for a week to actually get the business transaction done. basically she tells sam that he should break bucky out of the mansion while they're away, take the trigger word book, and meet with torres so he can take them both to madripoor.

- while sharon and pierce leave, sam continues visiting bucky during the night. also he doesn't see bucky during the day bc they have no reason to bring him out of the cell, and he kinda misses him aw

- one night, he wakes up to noise, lots of it. everyone in the house is running. in the midst of all the chaos, sam hears, "find the soldier!"

- the first place sam goes to is the forest, and there he finds bucky kneeling by a frozen lake, with a gun in his hands. sam tackles him and throws the gun away

- "what the fuck were you thinking huh?!" sam shouts, tightly holding the front of bucky's shirt, and he can't help but cry at the thought of bucky's dead body. and all of a sudden he feels like shit. for manipulating bucky and taking advantage of his trauma for his own gain. so he gathers bucky in his arms and tells him everything. about what he and sharon were actually planning, what his true motivations were when he first went inside the basement, and how he actually grew to care for bucky

- bucky just laughs and says, "i know,” he reveals that sharon's plan all along was to take bucky and the trigger words for herself, and frame sam as the mastermind behind everything. she'll then fake bucky’s death and offer sam as another test subject for the winter soldier program as compensation for stealing (and “killing”) bucky

- "how do you know all this?"

- "she visited me the first night you arrived and we talked. she told me she'll take me away and all i had to do was manipulate you into breaking me out." bucky confesses, "i didn't realise you were a sweetheart, that made everything so complicated."

- anyways sam knocks bucky unconscious and basically helps hydra guards put him back in his cell. "just saying, maybe we shouldn't tell pierce abt this yknow" and the hydra guards r like yeah no totally cause if he knew we're all fucked

- anyways bucky and sam come up with a plan to escape together. sam contacts a friend known as baron helmut zemo, who's basically sharon's biggest enemy, but more importantly, owes sam a big ass debt and asks him to give the two of them safe passage to sokovia

- they plan to escape two nights before sharon and pierce return to siberia. on that night, sam wakes up at exactly 1 AM like he always does, and kills everyone in the house. he puts a bullet in every hydra guard, every housekeeper, everyone. he disables all the techs in the house, steals the trigger word book and breaks bucky out of his cell.

- "wait. there's something i have to show you." bucky says. he takes sam to the facility. the place where they tortured him and experimented on him. the place where every other test subjects were kept frozen.

- (if you've watched the handmaiden, yes this is a reference to the library scene) sam can't contain the anger he feels when he looks at the room. "is this where they tortured you? is this where the screams come from every night?"

- bucky nods. he points at a chair in the centre of the room, surrounded by machines and computers. "every morning they would drag me out of my cell, put me on that chair, and-" he swallows a choked sob, "and read the trigger words,"

- sam can't control it anymore. he grabs a metal rod and starts destroying the place. he breaks every machine, tearing them apart until they are nothing more than wires and buttons. he kills all the frozen test subjects, because they deserve better than this. he rips apart the pages of the winter soldier's mission reports, and gathers them into a pile.

- from afar, bucky watches as sam lights up the pile and everything in front of him starts to burn. when sam turns to look at him, he can't help but think about how magnificent he looks as the fire roars behind him. his hero. his guardian angel. his sam.

- sam approaches bucky and pulls him in for a hungry kiss. something he feels he should've done earlier. "no one will ever control you again." he says, and for once its a promise that bucky believes in.

- sam reaches in his bag and pulls out the red book. bucky starts to cry bc no one, not even before hydra, had ever loved him like this. "i mean it. no one." sam says. bucky throws the book in the fire and watches and both paper and leather melt into ash

- the end they escape using zemo's private jet and live happily ever after haha

SO !! i barely have anything yet bc i just had this fucking brain blast like an hour ago but. here are my Thoughts so far:

so the very first thing i tried to think of was like. what everyone is? i did my best w this but i am so fuckin open to ideas..... i don’t know shit! 

the easiest answer right off the bat was who the humans are (or at least the pirates who appear to be human) in this. we got the science team as the pirate crew—gordon, tommy, bubby, and coomer! they are sailing the seas and maybe they are not doing a very good job of it but it’s fine. it’s Fine

the second easiest answer was benrey’s situation. we got skeletons fuck yeah. benrey got some of that curse uh oh! however w benrey’s situation that’s more like... sometimes being a skeleton rather than just steadily turning into one, i thought maybe the curse fucked up on him? maybe it’s like. he’s only half cursed to just sometimes be a skeleton but he can also look human again too. i don’t fucking know. also OH SHIT BENREY HAS TO BE NOT HUMAN UHJHHHHHHHH fuck it guess he’s part ancient now too. i guess. shit i’ll have to spend more time on him but this is.. the gist

next we got uhh forzen babey. i’ll be honest i’m not too confident on this one. i had the vague idea that maybe he’s a mermaid? although whether he’s one of the mermaids that steals sunken pirates and turns them into mermaids or one of the mermaids who was turned into a pirate i can’t really decide. i mean the pirates-turned-mermaids are always helpful in game, and forzen. well. Isn’t, but the mermaid-mermaids live so far deep that they’re never seen? so i don’t know. but he’s out there.... in the ocean....... somewhere....... waiting for me to have more brain power to answer this

it’s darnold time! i’ll be honest i also don’t have many ideas for this guy. i thought maybe he’s got something to do with the order of souls? that’s vaguely related to potions right? sage darnold with the oos eyes curse and he reads the fuckin skull juices to help out the crew with their voyages..... i think? there are other options too but this is the one that jumped out at me the most!

SO I GOT TWO POSSIBILITIES HERE FOR THIS GUY. what i can’t decide on is how much of canon sot i want to be canon in this au... mainly, the stuff abt the pirate lord. i got two options here, one of which is that ramsey still exists as the pirate lord and he hangs out doing mostly the same shit he does in canon, and gman is like. an ancient who stuck around the sea of thieves for whatever reason? which would make tommy a descendant of the ancients too, hence why i specified earlier that all the pirates in the crew might not be human..... EITHER THAT OR gman is the pirate lord and ramsey fuckin uh doesn’t exist in the au. and i CANNOT for the life of me decide which i like better. ANY HELP APPRECIATE HERE PLS

i think no matter who the pirate lord is in this au they’d have no problems letting pretty much anyone in honestly. ramsey just kinda says “oh you washed up unconscious on the shores of old sailor’s isle? cool let me just not ask any questions and part the shroud for you real quick ok bye” and honestly i can’t imagine gman would be much different—although he’d probably be more cryptic abt it than ramsey is

SO. GORDOS. i feel like him coming to the sot was a last resort of sorts. he feels lost in life, unsure what his goal is or where he’s going, and he hears of this mystical sea that nobody who enters ever leaves but apparently there’s adventure and treasure and wonder there so he’s like fuck it, i’ve got nothing else to do and goes there hoping to find some sort of purpose. and find it he does :)

tommy time! i feel like whatever brought him here had to be partially related to his dad? either he’s just There bc. well. his dad’s the fuckin pirate lord, or gman’s all cryptid abt being an ancient and left tommy to sort of grow up in the sot on his own while gman kept a distant eye on him, just so tommy wouldn’t find out too much abt being an ancient or whatever. uh. so he’s pretty familiar w the world of sot and all its wacky magic shit! 

(actual sot lore question here bc this is smth i don’t know—does all the magic that happens in sea of thieves happen beyond the shroud? i wonder if the rest of the world also has skeletons and giant sea monsters and magic and shit or if it’s just inside the sea of thieves...... hmmm for this au i’m gonna assume that all magic is something unique to the sea of thieves and doesn’t happen beyond the shroud) 

The Bubby. honestly i like the idea that bubby came to the sot just to like... get away from the outside world? like maybe he’s on the run from something............ this is very very vague in my mind and is extremely subject to change but i like the whole “I’M LEAVING THIS WORLD!” thing as bubby being like fuck the regular world i’m going into the flesh eating devil shroud and nobody can stop me. and then he did

coomer. the man himself. i think coomer came to the sot searching for adventure! and more to learn! he’s always looking to broaden his horizons and where else to go but to the mystical sea of thieves when looking for new experiences? coomer is just here to have a good time :)

UH i think darnold already existed in the sot... he just sorta Lives There... there are npcs who just fucking were born and raised there right. like tasha was in the sot at age 4 so it makes sense right?? darnold just live here and he helps get the crew from the outside world familiar with the sot!

FORZEN has been in the sot for ages—either he’s always been here as a mermaid or he got turned into one so long ago and he’s just been getting angrier and angrier w it every year he’s trapped here. he barely remember why he came anymore but god does he regret it. :(

gman either way just kind of Is There huh..... as the pirate lord i honestly can’t imagine his origin being much different than ramsey’s? like he just makes friends w the ancients like hey what’s up i like this sea. my sea now. or he Is an ancient and just fucking chills there. whatever

bubby and tommy + coomer as well are agents of chaos in general. they don’t follow the fuckin Rules and it makes gordon’s life a living hell. 

bubby: look gordon i dug up some grubs! gordon: cool man, put those in the barrel and we can use them to fish late- bubby: (shoving the grubs in his mouth) gordon: BUBBY NO WHAT THE FUCK DON’T EAT TH coomer: oh, what a good idea, bubby! i am feeling quite hungry myself! (also starts eating worms) gordon: I’M COOKING DINNER AT THE CAMPFIRE RIGHT NOW PLEASE DON’T tommy: oh are the worms okay to eat? i wonder what they taste like gordon: NO STOP benrey, shoving worms in gordon’s face: eat worms? eat worms now please?

coomer finds out how to launch himself out of a cannon and he becomes unstoppable. the crew is attacked by an enemy ship and everyone’s like “oh fuck everyone get to the cannons!” and they go there to find coomer fucking launching himself directly onto the enemy ship, and he kills their entire crew in seconds. by the time he mermaids back to his ship everyone is fucking stunned silent and coomer is just like “well, that takes care of that! let’s get back on course, gentlemen!” and since then they just fucking fire coomer at people like a weapon whenever they get attacked by other pirates or skeletons. It Always Works

Sorry to my four followers that all I’m doing is just posting abt Homestuck disk horse, I’m just 👀 because, the biggest thing I have about Homestuck^2 is that the writers cannot pick a lane, and are also just really pretentious, which maybe seems ironic considering I’m gonna go in and waste an hour or two writing this, acting like I’m on some high ground of any kind about writers and their takes on the Homestuck story, but I digress.

My criticisms have been voiced before, and have been done much better by other people, I’m just having a brain moment, it’s the same shit, different day. I also wanna preface this by saying you’re allowed to like Homestuck^2, and you shouldn’t feel bad about it. I have more gripes with the writers more than I do with the story because it’s not the story’s fault that I have problems with it.

That being said, writers claim that content after the ending of Homestuck is not canon, and that the story exists out of canon, and that we can choose to ignore it. But we can’t. Just because you say it’s not canon, doesn’t mean that it’s not canon. When the OFFICIAL writers are writing the OFFICIAL story, it means it’s canon. But they keep saying it’s not when they obviously want it to be.

Furthermore, the writers keep saying that the story is intentionally written to be inflammatory, and that it’s supposed to be bad, and I’m just sitting here, thinking, “Okay, and...????” Because they get so upset when WE get upset. And I don’t understand WHY. So are we supposed to like the purposefully bad content that is meant to make us feel bad, or not ???

I’m gonna bring up some stuff about the timelines. Keep in mind that this is speculation, and that it’s implied, but if it’s not this way, it just goes to show that the writers don’t know what they’re doing because this is literally the only explanation I can think of as to what the takeaway is from the Epilogues and HS^2.

So, even though the general theme of the candy and meat timeline is ( implied ) that they both represent too much of a particular group of story elements ( candy = drama, fluff, fan service, meat = substance, all the intricate details ) and the supposed idea is that the ending will have things get better, as the characters aren’t in control, it doesn’t make me or anyone feel better about it, especially considering it doesn’t make any sense as to why the timeline is split like that. The writers are so caught up in the metaphor and in the meta, that they forgot to write an actual reason as to why it’s happening at all.

Meat and Candy are two timelines which are supposed to eventually be joined together to create a better story, as their representations are, when combined, what make a balanced story. The metaphor is all fine and well, until you run into the problem that is Ult!Dirk, because his influence seems to be primarily locked into the Meat timeline, as he never had control in Candy. Assumably no one did as far as I’m aware. So why is it that Candy, despite it being liberated from any manipulators, is still stuck in an active case of OOC ??? The metaphor shouldn’t be the explanation, because it’s not a valid excuse to explain why the characters are so poorly written. What would make sense is the idea that there’s a third party puppeteering the Candy timeline, but it’s implied once in the writing from what I remember, and the only third party is in Pesterquest where we see the “Director” but I doubt the woman behind the slaughter is messing with the Candy timeline.

So I guess to fit the theme of “pick a fucking lane”, the question here is, “If Candy is supposedly outside of influence of anyone, then why are the characters still so OOC ?” The only answer I can see here, is because the writers wanted the metaphor, even though the metaphor doesn’t have a reason to happen. And for the purpose of argument, let’s entertain the idea that Candy is OOC because it’s considered not canon. Okay, cool. But also, not cool, because Candy isn’t a timeline that’s not supposed to even be written. It’s not canon. It’s not supposed to matter if it’s not canon, but it does, so why is it OOC, which hey ! Also matches the “pick a lane” thing. I suppose it’s similar to how John retcons the timeline, rendering the pre retcon events non-canon. Except, no, because the pre retcon timeline is three things:

1. It’s not a separate timeline like Candy, it’s still one timeline, it’s just John changing things up.

2. The actual events of pre retcon have a direct effect on the post retcon timeline, thus it doesn’t matter if it’s rewritten or non-canon when it has direct influence over the plot.

And 3. It’s characters pre-retcon are still in character, even if you consider it non-canon.

Candy timeline is literally none of these.

There’s also the implication that we don’t have to take it seriously because it’s non canon, but it’s hard not to when you’re writing about important, serious topics.

And I don’t know about you guys, but Homestuck^2 and the Epilogues don’t give me bad fanfic vibes, because at least bad fanfic is funny and entertaining. None of this is, because to me, unlike most bad fanfic, it doesn’t have the same feeling of it being unintentionally bad. A lot of the writing feels like it’s specifically trying to highlight the discomfort.

an irl friend of mine wanted me to watch the show (we’ve been slowly showing each other new anime over time) and when we first started watching it recently everything was fine, normal...but the more we watched and the shitter things got for me irl, the more i started projecting feelings into the show really hard, and then i just said fuck it and decided to self insert fhieslfhels and here we are

quick crash course so some words i use describing Nova’s role in this verse make sense: DTB takes place in a world where there’s like a fog around the world...the real sky doesn’t exist anymore, and every star you see in the night sky actually represents a person known as a “Contractor.” (And yes that means when you see a star fall, a Contractor has died. They’re kept cataloged by most official organizations by numbers assigned to their stars.) Contractors have special powers at the cost of a price, i.e. someone who has electricity powers but then has to eat an obscene amount of food for seemingly no reason after the fact. understandably, powers and payments can be literally anything, ranging from both good and bad, dire to simple, etc etc. And all of this started happening when these 2 supernatural zones known as Heaven’s Gate and Hell’s Gate randomly showed up one day, and then people in or near these zones (which are now uninhabitable) started developing these powers. allegedly Contractors also only have lizard brain levels of emotion, as in they aren’t really supposed to be able to feel anything, they only act in the most rational and self-preserving manner for them. this ofc isn’t entirely true and gets challenged in different ways throughout the show, but anyway i think those are enough basics for my bio description to make sense...

i don’t have an official bio typed up yet but Nova is still just Nova lol, altho like in my FB verse, she has a condition that only certain people can see. she’s not a straight up Contractor (so she doesn’t have to deal with all that payment bs), but she has been influenced by the Gate. it changed her appearance (starry haired catgirl) and she has the ability to shift between a cat and human form, but only other Contractors/people that have been in contact with the Gate to a notable degree can see that part of her appearance. so as a human she just looks normal to everyone, and as a cat she just wouldn’t be sparkly, but to Contractors/Gate people she looks like a catgirl/sparkly cat all the time. she’s best friends with one of the side characters in the show named Kiko, a girl who works for a hack detective and likes anime a lot, so she and Nova bond over that lol...Kiko also canonically has a crush on Hei (the MC, who I now realize I haven’t shared his name up to this point lol. sidenote: that’s not his real name, it’s the codename he goes by in the organization he works for. His “civilian” name that he tells most people when he’s undercover is “Li Shengshun” but we actually never find out his REAL real name, unless it actually is Li, but regardless I just refer to him as Hei because that’s what everyone else does lol), although Kiko doesn’t actually know him (they’ve never had any super significant encounters) but that’s how Nova ends up meeting him. Kiko points out her crush and Nova decides she’s gonna help her friend get a date, but after things get set up Nova realizes she feels...a little empty...maybe even a little jealous :3c and ofc from the beginning Hei noticed that something was up with Nova that apparently no one else can see, but he decides not to make it his problem until he’s told that it’s supposed to be his problem. he basically works as a hitman for a secret vague Syndicate (just think secret government agency or whatever except this organization is over even the government) that employs Contractors and various other individuals that have had experiences with the Gate. one of his teammates is another black cat (lmfao) who probably starts keeping tabs on her anyway, just because he can, and because he’s wary about the fact that she’s just living her life like this and yet she still just happened to cross paths with this particular group of people...what a coincidence, although when it comes to Contractors Mao (the cat) knows it’s probably not a good one. 

Aaaaaaaand that’s about all i got for now i think, i’m gonna try to post some more writing next week (no promises) for JSHK, BSD, and now DTB, and i’m probably gonna lean more towards producing more DTB for the time being because i’ve been using it as my one crutch during this fucked up time we are living in lol, i projected too hard and now i’m in love, story of my life!!!
