Occult Recipebook
Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Tumblr media
INTRO
Occult gameplay is up there with one of my favourite ways to play. Food is a part of our Sims lives, and should also be for occults so that they can cook up their preferred foods.
This Occult Recipebook is a collection of custom recipes (food and drink) for Occult Sims in the Sims 4.
Tumblr media
I have started off this occult culinary journey with: ✨SPELLCASTERS✨
I have plans to later create foods for each occult life state, so I will keep adding to the recipe book.
“Spellcasters” as a life state can be played in so many different ways: they can range from gnarly evil witches who practice black magic and eat bird entrails, to happy little fairies who live in cottages surrounded by woods and flowers! I have tried to include a little bit of everything in the recipes I have created. These foods are a mix of fairy, fantasy, green garden witch, apothecary, or black-magic sorcerer etc.
They effect Spellcasters and/or human Sims in many weird and wonderful ways.
E.g. Nettle Tea which helps teenagers suffering with acne, Milk Thistle Biscuits which leave the consumer with prickly thistles in their tongue, and Eye of Newt Soup which most Sims will find disgusting but which Spellcasters will happily slurp up.

Patterns.
[partially based on this post by @callum-librrry]
Dave The Human, female Tsin by happenstance, and professionally, a male human was dipping one of the Caffeteria's purple bread rolls in different sauces and taste testing.
With her was Garf, a large adult Atrix of the Atrix gender, her Little guy, Un-named Male who was not technically any more male or female than Garf, just smaller, and unusually no Dave the Human, an actual human, discounting the week he'd spent as an Atrix to annoy someone.
Garf was taking notes and Un-named was doing colour commentary.
Dave tried a dab of interspecies-recipe Teriyaki and considered the flavour profile. "Without a doubt, the most horrible thing I have ever tasted." she stated after a moment of consideration and swooshed her mouth with lightly salted elderberry cordial.
"Grak." said Un-Named, witty little guy that he was.Garf made a note. "OK that's the third most horrible thing you have ever eaten, two 'I regret my life choices' and three 'Would be great with Crottled Greebs' and that one where you tried to drink the bottle." she said.
From somewhere there was a crash as someone dropped a tray and everyone looked around.
"Who was it?" asked Dave.
"EVA 43." Garf told him after a quick glance.
"...Really?I thought 43 was Atrix!"
Un-named and garf took another look.
"No... Atrix don't have stripes like that." Garf said casually.
Un-Named said "Grak?" and she shrugged. "You get better distance vision when you get larger." she assured him, and looked up at Dave who was doing an expression she tentatively read as 'bemused' - Hard to tell without a proper patch of display skin on her face like an Atrix would have.
"What?"
Dave leaned back. "Stripes. Humans do not have stripes." she notes.
Garf and Un-named looked at each other and flickered colours and patterns with their faces.
"Uhh... Yeah, they do." she said. "Remind me... on the lights spectrum Tsin vision is...?"
Dave perked up her ears. "Oh? Ohhh! Yes, down near the Squeep! end. So humans stripes are visible in the Squeep!... Um, what do you call it, the super purples and other invisible colours section?"
Garf looked it up on the tablet. "Uh yeah. We call it something different but the humans, yes they call it Ultra-Violet."
"Grak?"
"No... I don't know either. But they do."
Then Dave the Human arrived with tea and a purple bread roll off his own. "'Sup, my social circulars?" he asked cheerily.
"Human stripes." said Tsin Dave. "I had no idea you had them."
"Oh don't worry about it," Dave the Human said, "We can't see them either. Uh I think they're Blascowicz Lines, or something."
There was a pause while Garf looked it up on Humanpedia.
"Blashko's Lines!"
"There you go. Yeah... oh so Tsin can see them?" Dave said.
"Sure... oh that's weird." said Garf.
"Not that weird. Hey, Dave, watch this." Dave the Human said. He held up the purple roll. "What colour is this?"
"Grak." said Un-Named, getting it in one. "Blue" said Garf, and then "ir-tk-tk-tss. Flesh coloured".
"Dave?"
Dave the human looked at the roll. "It's... uh, grey-ish red?"
Dave the Human grinned. "Both. I can see the red and the blue so I get a colour called Purple. It's a few shades off from how Atrix look.
"Atrix are _purple?!_" yelped Garf, startled, almost at the same time as Dave The Human, squeaked, "They're not dark red?"
"Oh hey is that Teriyaki?" said Dave, and dunked his breadroll in it.

Samhain Tea Ritual
By Whisper in the Wood
It is fall, and deep in the ancient groves of the enchanted wood, a woman gathers earthy roots and plump, fragrant mushrooms. She places them in her basket beside wild ruby-red rose hips, juicy dark-purple elderberries, and silvery mugwort gifted by the hedges.
Her hooded woolen cloak brushes against the soft ferns that line the path over spongy moss and pine needles as she makes her way home. There, at the edge of the wood, her small stone cottage is surrounded by goldenrod and purple aster swaying in the breeze. A black cat in the doorframe mews, eagerly awaiting her return. As the teakettle heats over the hearth fire, she crafts a Samhain tea blend with the flora and fungi she’s foraged in the wood. This autumnal tea ritual honors the bounties of harvest time and celebrates the Triple Goddess, who now begins her seasonal transformation from Mother to Crone. The spirit ancestors whisper to her from beyond the veil, which is at its thinnest this time of year.
Join her and the collective of ancestors who came before you by putting together your own Samhain tea ritual celebrating and honoring the vibrancy of autumn, the abundant gifts of the harvest, and the deep love given to and received by one’s ancestors in spirit.

Cute, cozy ways to survive winter
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- buy a winter-ish tea to warm you up in the morning and the evening. You can also make your own mix (I love cranberry and elderberry)
- take vitamin D3 to boost your mood and prevent seasonal depression
- take beta carotin to have a glowy, tanned skin even without the sunlight
- get a good quality jacket from a material like wool or hemp (eco), and yes, it will cost a lot, but it's worth it. It keeps your warmer than any cheaper jacket and will last longer. A tip from a broke girl: I started to save up money in June. Also I search only in second-hand stores. I also recommend a faux fur. You can already find nice finds for 90€
- few times a week, make yourself a little bath for your feet. After a cold day, pour hot water into a bowl and put some nice bathing salts or etheric oils, I usually do smth that smells like pine trees. Super relaxing and warms your feet ^^
- read winter-ish books. They help to romanticize the cold time and make the season much more special
- get yourself a nice thick pair of socks that you will enjoy wearing during the winter
- dress warm. I have a special thermal set that I always put under my clothes. Avoid wearing jeans, for they will only make you freeze. Wear thick sweaters (I love cashmere, I bought one cheap in a second hand store), or long warm skirts or dresses (they make me feel girly and special during the cold time) remember, when you buy expensive, good quality clothes keep them in natural colors so they're universal and timeless. Remember: the time of cute outfits is over, now we're in the survival mode
- you can add yourself some color with pretty gloves and hats. I love wearing slavic scarves during the winter to honor my heritage
- when buying a shower gel, perfume, shampoo or body lotion peak smells that remind you of winter. I go for mandarine/ orange scents 😊🍊
- drink vitamin c in the morning!!!
- choose a thicker cream for your face, nothing water-based. Your skin needs special care and protection during the winter. I have an acne prone, oily skin, and I still choose thicker creams, so don't be afraid to do the same. My go-to for winter is a levera cream for sensitive skin and a black cumin seed oil. I also like products from PinusVital.
- uv still exists during winter so don't forget a sunscreen!
- decorate your apartment, room or house with winter decor. I'd defiently focus more on winter related things since they will last until March. Christmas things tend to be thrown away much quicker after Christmas. There's so many cute ideas!
- get yourself a sun clock. It's a lamp you put by your bed, which imitates the sunshine. It's especially useful in early mornings since we humans aren't programmed to be waking up in full darkness. It helps to wake up your body :)
- get yourself a bunch of candles and light them in the evening. Element of fire has always been crucial for our ancestors during these trying times
- every single week plan to do something new. It can be finding a new song or new album, going to a restaurant or a coffee shop you've never been to before, learning something new, visiting a place you haven't seen yet, trying out a new recipe, even taking a different rode back from work/school, write a new poem, start a new book, watch a new movie, keep yourself entertained by little things
- out of the same principle, try to redecorate or change placement of furniture from time to time. Our brains get easily bored and especially during winter it can be very depressing. Brains need the change to stay healthy and fit
- especially during cold times, a community is really important. Even if you're an introverted person, it doesn't mean you should stay alone all the time. Humans are social beings, and we need contacts to one another. During winter months and long evenings, loneliness can be very hard. Try looking for a local book club or knitting club or any other club you'd enjoy. Download Bumble BFF it's an app that helps you to find friends! Volunteer at your local senior house or even your local dog shelter. Being constantly alone has literally never done anyone any good.
- burn incenses to boost energies in your household (any time it's needed, of course if you believe in stuff like this :) ) I recommend orange incense (brings luck and happiness)
- spend time outside. During the week I barely have time but every weekend I try to go on a walk possibly out in the nature. Your mental state regulates this way. Just 15 minutes of walk outside each day can boost your mood. Believe me, it comes from a person who struggled a lot with depressions.
- don't forget to eat well. You burn more calories during the winter because your body uses lots of energy to keep itself warm. Eat regular, well-balanced food portions. I love vegetarian food magazines that offer amazing seasonal recipes, so you cook with vegetables and fruits that actually grow during the winter. I think it adds more magic and meaning to the season to cook with seasonal food.
- wake up early. And early can be different for every person, but sleeping in every day is not proven to be healthy. Sleeping in causes chronic diseases, slows down your metabolism, and can cause social problems. Of course, there's nothing wrong with having one slower day, but having a crazy sleeping schedule can get you in sleep debt that will not result in anything productive.
- pick projects you want to accomplish during winter like for example my projects are: learn about local birds and mammals, make a little house in my local forest, learn how to diy fairy houses, learn how to knit :)
❄️Remember that winter time is the time to slow down and relax. Look around at nature and see how everything is seemingly dead and waiting for the spring. Don't worry if you're not being great all the time or constantly achieving new milestones because it's totally fine to calm down after many months of work. I know that the capitalism convinced us that we should always work, no matter what, but I just want you to remember that nature intended otherwise and of you're more tired and sleepy during these months that's totally normal. Just be kind to yourself.❄️

( saghert and cream, fish and bean soup, vegetable pasta salad, onion gratin soup, sweet and salty whitefish sauté, sweet bun trio, garreg mach meat pie, pheasant roast with berry sauce, peach sorbet, vegetable stir-fry, derdriu-style fried pheasant ) -- the simple act of sharing a meal with Maria is guaranteed to raise your friendship with her, but these dishes give the biggest boosts

LOST ITEMS.
TIMEWORN JOURNAL: A well-kept if obviously aged journal, its entries date back many years and are addressed not to itself, but to a person. There are many crude but lovingly rendered drawings within. It probably belongs to someone who's been looking for someone for a very long time. LOCATION: Courtyard
UNFINISHED HANDKERCHIEF: A lovely square of fabric decorated with what seems to be the beginnings of an embroidery project. Looks like... (apple trees/wisteria/sunflowers)? It probably belongs to someone who likes making gifts for others. LOCATION: Blue Lions Classroom
FOREIGN PENDANT: A subtle-yet-elegant pendant of foreign make. Its quality suggests a high degree of nobility; there is a small emblem of a wyvern on the back of it. It probably belongs to someone sentimental. LOCATION: Cathedral
OWNER.
"Oh! This is mine -- I've been looking for it everywhere! Thank you so much!"
NOT OWNER.
"Hmm... This isn't mine, but maybe... have you asked (name)?" *has an increased chance of suggesting the right person the higher her support rank with the item's owner.

"It looks so yummy! Do you want to share this together when we're done?"
"Are you nervous? Hee hee, don't worry! I used to help out a lot with cooking at the convent -- I'll help you out!"

"Hee hee... Maybe one day, I'll catch up to them! Do you think they'll be surprised?"
UPON REACHING LEVEL 99.
"Next time, I'll protect them, too."
UPDATE GOALS.
FAITH.
"Did you know? In Archanea, you have to use staves and tomes to use magic, but in Fódlan you don't need any of that! I don't know if I can bring that kind of magic back home, but if I can help even without a staff, then it's worth a try, isn't it? Trying to keep up with both of them gets a little tough sometimes, though!"
AXE + FLYING.
"My home, Macedon, was known for its wyvern knights -- and my brother and sister were the strongest of all of them! I chose to be a cleric to protect them like they protect me, but... hee hee! Thanks to them, I love the sky."
REASON.
"Axes are so different from magic. Their strengths and weaknesses, their range, the types of foes they're better against... I won't ever be as good with axes as my big brother and sister, but that's okay, isn't it? I'm not them -- I'm their little sister! And I'll always be there to support them!"
BUDDING TALENT.
"Woah... This is new... and exciting! Heeheehee."
NEW SKILL.
"I learned a new trick! Do you want to see?"

"Just one more step..."
ALLY DEFEATS ENEMY.
"I'm so happy you're alright!"
"Wow...! You were amazing!"
(Michalis/Minerva exclusive) "Hee hee... You're just as cool as I remember, (Brother/Sister)!"
ALLY HEALS/RALLIES.
"Thank you! I'm feeling better already!"
"I won't let you down!"
"Since you believe in me, I'll work even harder!"
DEFEAT QUOTE.
CASUAL.

CLASSIC.
"Michalis... Minerva... I... Just one more time... Togeth...er..."
THE ADVICE BOX.
I'm really cheerful when I'm with people, but sometimes I worry that makes other people not hear me out at all. Sometimes my siblings just brush me off!

Thanks to Alan's photos, I found the paving without the bench. With Lilas, we cleared the slabs and installed a small table under the magnificent oak tree. Perfect for dinner in the evening when the weather is nice, until the sun goes behind the house.
The elderberry harvest is coming to an end. I made it dried to prepare herbal teas this winter and test a new jelly recipe with agar-agar. Spread on my Sunday morning pancakes, a delight!
It's a little early but the yarrow is ready (normally July and end of September).

golden milk for a golden day.
it has been a gloomy morning today in SWFL. not to mention the temperature has decreased by some 10-25 degrees the past couple of evenings. personally, i favor the warmer weather and humidity. for a lot of us, the colder weather and gloomy skies can take a toll in our confidence in ourselves and for the rest of the day. many of us will take one inconvenience and claim that the rest of the day will go just about the same. we set ourselves up for failure before we’ve given the rest of the day a chance to play out.
this morning i am sipping on my own golden milk latte recipe that helps warm up the fire in my solar plexus :
turmeric powder
cinnamon sticks
ginger
clove
fennel greek
rosemary
spruce pine needles
elderberries
ginseng root
astragalus root
licorice root
matcha leaves
marjoram leaves
after steeped, i added a teaspoon of honey and topped it off with almond milk.
from a recent perspective healing, i am beginning to see these inconvenient circumstances as opportunities for fluidity, letting go of control, and having gratitude for the experience. now at first that seems like a lot of hullabaloo, but it was not as easy as words can put it. before healing my inner chakra points i let the feelings trapped in those energy centers control my day, how i felt about it, and i let these challenging feelings debilitate me before i could move on from the feeling. some things that can get trapped in these centers are childhood trauma, trauma in self-worth and self-esteem, intrusive thoughts, sensual and sexual trauma, experience with abuse, people pleasing, and a lack in self-expression. when these shadows come up, i like to do things that match the energy on the other side of the spectrum. i’ll dedicate affirming songs to myself and sing them in a mirror, i’ll hold myself a little tighter to show myself that i’m supported, i’ll do breath work techniques and connect with the physical sensations of my body, and most importantly i move! shake, shimmy, jump, kick, stretch, and roll.
one small habit i have with a lot of intention behind it is putting turmeric in most of my everyday foods. including teas, smoothies, wellness shots, breakfasts, snacks, soups, rice, and most dinners. not only does it add great flavor but i use it to add a bit more healing into what i add to my own body.
the benefits of turmeric include :
1. Depression
2. Type 2 Diabetes
3. Viral Infections
4. Premenstrual Syndrome
5. High Cholesterol
6. Alzheimer's Disease
7. Arthritis
8. Cancer
9. Irritable Bowel Syndrome
10. Headaches
11. Acne
i do what i can to let myself, my mind, and my body know that there is plenty of space for me to be, to feel, and to release what is being held on to. i’ve given myself energy work for almost a year now, and in that time i’ve received a lot of help from others perspectives and healing energy. in that time i’ve been given the space to develop my own practice with what works for me, and it’s still ever-changing. healing becomes more easeful when we practice as well as when we are adding to that ease in the process.
be kind to yourself.

Lavender Hibiscus Henna Hair Recipe
Henna Powder Lavender Spearmint Tea (infuse 10 minutes) Hibiscus Elderberry (Infuse 5 Minutes - darker color) Cabernet The teas mellow out the scent of the henna, and is soothing. Use tea at warm temperature, not boiling. Mix all together and leave overnight. I find that braiding my hair into pigtails helps me be able to reach all my roots and also rub all the henna into my braid so it's easier to clean out later. When I don't use braids I end up with very tangled hair and it's a mess. Easier to put on the top of your head as well. Gives a bit of depth to the color too since the lower layers aren't perfectly covered. Henna has a hennotannic acid element to it red-orange dye that is found in walnuts and water hyacinth. You have to make it into a paste to make the dye release. I need to see a henna tree. This time I left it on for about an hour, and the paste was like mud. I usually wrap foil around my head to keep the heat in and not get this dye everywhere. I've noticed an observable difference in my mind when I wrap it in aluminum foil. Had this mental image of Magneto putting on his hat. I always considered myself more of an Xavier, so... that's interesting. The difference between veils and helmets, metal and cloth... and what wavelengths it may filter out. Anyways, back to my hair. It looks great! Really like the color. The physical vibrancy helps me feel more vibrant. Successful formula. Will recommend to future selves in the future.

December In Review
Well let’s start off with I’m stealing Li’s template.
What’s In My Cup?
AM: As of late I’ve been drinking black/earl grey tea w/ honey or drip coffee because too much caffeine has been giving me massive anxiety and OCD tics which we don’t even want to get into. I add 1 scoop of Agent Nateur’s holi(mane) which is just collagen powder w/ pearl powder. It actually really helps the evenness of my complexion in my skin. Then I add some hazelnut, english toffee, or vanilla stevia drops depending on the vibe I’m in each day and then my nut pod creamer. Also, you guys I’ve been putting my warm drinks in my ember cup I got for Christmas and it keeps it to the temperature I want for so long, I can shower, do my skincare, whatever and it’s still the same temp. 😭 life changing.
During the day: I’m drinking water with silica drops for thicker and healthier hair, ultima electrolytes in lemonade, and trace mineral drops. I rly want to try the LMNT??? Element??? (Idk..) electrolytes, but why do all the flavors sound like they taste bad.
During the holidays I have been partaking in an occasional sprite that I mix with white peach cranberry juice, cranberry sauce, frozen cranberries, and a sprig of rosemarry as a little mocktail vibe.
PM: I’ve been drinking teas. My favorites have been spearmint, hibiscus tea w/ honey, or elderberry healer by the company rishi.
What’s On My Plate?
AM: smoothies are my go to.. usually strawberry & banana with almond milk, cacao powder, inulin, flax seed, chia seeds, rice bran, pearl powder, chocolate protein powder, cacao nibs, and honey to make it taste like a chocolate covered banana/strawberry.
Pm: I have been rly into a couple things that I’m just rotating…
1. smash burgers on corn tortillas that have been all over TikTok lately. They’re just easy and take such little planning.
2. I marinate boneless, skinless chicken thighs in coconut aminos, salt, minced garlic and minced ginger from a jar and cook it in a pan with all the sauce from marinating. Add it as a dressing on top of a bed of lettuce, cilantro, green onions, sugar snap peas, cabbage slaw mix, and add vermicelli noodles if I’m feeling like I want some carbs.
3. Another one is chicken thighs skin rubbed w/ salt & garlic, fry up the chickens and then remove them from the pan add in black rice (super high in antioxidants) with minced ginger, garlic, let it soak in all the oils and then I add chicken stock, a can of coconut milk and lemongrass smashed. Then add the chicken back in and ignore it for 40 mins. ( this is just a recipe from Gwyneth Paltrow clean plate book which I kind of die for)
My mom and I made Julia Childs lamb for Christmas with green beans and an endive salad.
What’s On My Bookshelf?
Currently reading the 4th book in the “Magnolia Parks Universe” It’s called “The Great Undoing” the series starts out with a book about Magnolia Parks and BJ which is the most toxic but addicting love affair we’ve all had and the 2nd book goes on to Daisy Haites which is like crime lord familia, brother steals paintings from the louve type vibe with more love triangles between both worlds from different perspectives and the 3rd book goes back to Magnolia Parks and the 4th is now back to Daisy Haites.
Tumblr media
What’s In My Playlist?
I’ve been into classical music or scores that have been evoking feelings of a past life or have been allowing me to just feel my feels. If not that I’m rly into the song High by Steven Sanchez .. hawt 🫡
What I’ve Been Up To?
I was going crazy for Christmas decorating I wanted it to feel like the North Pole, but honestly it also made me kind of depresssed. My expectations are always high for holidays. My sister never comes home for ANY holiday and always spends it with Lara’s dad side. We used to always spend Christmas night at my grandparents on my Dad’s side of the family and I think that makes the holiday feel lonely now that they’re gone and my uncle is in Boston. Usually we go over to my neighbors on Christmas Eve and she has this huge pasta party, but she cancelled cause she had a pinched nerve in her back and we ended up cooking her a huge lasagna and taking over chicken pot pies for her Christmas Eve + Christmas. I was over stimulated but not with Christmas joy. Happy to help, but I’m feeling exhausted. I enjoyed spending time with my parents and surprising my mom with a gift for her business my dad and I snuck around to get, but as sad as it is to say… I feel relief that Christmas is over and it’s time to bring in a new year.
I am severely dedicated to my physical therapy and my body now that I’m stationary and not traveling around. 3 days out of the week I’m at the clinic in tractions. One where I’m strapped in to the wall pulling my neck to the left and one with 25lbs pulling my neck forward and 20lbs pulling my head back to reintroduce the C curve into my spine. Then I have a ton of at home exercises they have me doing for my knees/ankles and spine as well everyday. It’s a holistic clinic so I’m going to see their nutritionist in January and go further cutting out foods and getting clear on what my body needs to be its highest and best self.
I got a pill organizer from Amazon cause I’m trying to be better about my supplements… it’s been life changing. I’ve been taking saffron 3 times a day to help mood stabilize and gaba to help calm my brain ( both life changing ), chlorophyll, heavy doses of omegas, vitamin d3k2, zinc, glycine which is a building block for collagen, pumpkin seed oil for long hair, and a lot of Bach essences to keep my brain as peaceful as possible.
I’m spending lots of time with my animals. One of my ducks is being a bully so we had to separate berry cause her leg is hurt and cherry won’t stop standing on her back pulling her feathers. We’re collecting about 7 eggs from our ducks and chickens per day.. which is crazy cause I can’t eat eggs anymore, so we’re over flowing with eggs. We have 2 strays in our basements that we are taming to hopefully adopt out or have as outdoor cats that come inside at night… only time will tell.
I finally bought an air doctor for Christmas and I feel like I’m in a pure oxygen tank the air feels so clean (I found a coupon code for $300 off if anyone is interested)
I’ve deep diving into astrology and doing moon rituals.
Every first of the month I’ve been blowing cinnamon through my door which I highly suggest for an abundance practice and washing your cards with cinnamon water.
Skin & Hair Saviors
Face reality is my tried and true. I’m afraid of anything else but I rly want to venture out. I’m going to start micro needling at home to help plump my skin & get rid of acne scars.
My red light/blue light therapy wand + my near infrared/red light therapy panel are saviors.
I use golabs rosemary hair oil any chance I have to let it sit and chill and I use her other oil on my ends and then pop it in a shower cap and let it simmer for at least an hour.
Virtue hair oil with keratin has been my go to before I braid my hair every night.
I’ve been using a ph balanced shampoo by k18 & a rice water conditioner called mykirei..
I also do a apple cider water rise on my scalp to balance PH after I shampoo and condition ( 4 parts water, 1 part acv)
Miss & love you all
Aly 💗
