Meyers then pointed out that even if Russian operatives did claim to have compromising information on Trump, they're definitely not the only ones. 

"You know who else does?" he asked. "All of us. For example, while everyone was talking about these wild claims today, Trump was announcing that he will not divest from his business empire and admitting that a foreign entity offered him a massive amount of money just this weekend."

But instead of focusing on how Trump narrowly avoided impeachable offenses, the media ate up Trump's dismissal of CNN as "fake news." 

"You are 'fake news'," Trump told Jim Acosta, Senior White House Correspondent for CNN when, at the press conference, he attempted to ask Trump a question. 

“Despite an incredibly short run, I think it is time to retire that term,” remarked Meyers. "It used to mean one thing, but now everyone is using it for everything. 'Fake news' as a term is busted."
