also. while i am on a roll. i have been thinking a bit about Taylor's vocals (as one does) and one thing that keeps popping up in comment sections when people say "hm she isn't good live" is that fans defend her saying "oh she just gets shaky when she is nervous!" or "she is always rough when she hasn't performed in a while!" (and of course "this is not true"/"she is a songwriter that's her main thing!" etc). And it got me thinking about the very peculiar nature of the commodity of live shows because personally if I paid $500 for a ticket I would want and expect the singer to bring their absolute a game but on the other hand they also are a person with bad days/weak spots/etc. How much empathy should I, as a customer, then have?

#the idea of like. a good you purchase. is not all that easy to apply to concerts #but you do pay for an experience and the artist should do their best to deliver #EDIT: just because u have a lot of empathy for rich and famous celebs also doesn't mean everybody should #because it is understandable why they wouldn't #and it's especially strong with taylor #if i cared a lot about voice in my singers and this one singer who is making millions is continuously off in live shows i maybe wouldn't go #'aw but they are just a teen :('#because they ARE making millions while your favorite bar singer is barely scraping by
