Ranger Rankings - Power Rangers In Space

Premise - 4.5

The quest for Zordon is a much better set-up than the previous seasons, and a driving force for most of the season. It gets forgotten a little here and there in the middle, but it's replaced by Andros' quest for his sister instead.

Character Dynamics - 3.5

The Turbo replacement Rangers finally started to feel like people here rather than placeholders for plot points. Andros was a really good lynchpin, although Zhane was a bit bland.

Sixth Ranger Arc - 2

It's less of an arc than a few episodes to introduce him. Zhane turns up, gets struck by lightning, then just kind of disappears for a bit before showing up at the end.

Plot Development - 4

Things build quite nicely in this season. The fact that this is the culmination of the first six years of the franchise really helps, and there are some great multi-part arcs here. Countdown To Destruction is awesome, and the whole Psycho Ranger arc was grand.

Villains - 4

Astronema's arc was well done. I'd have liked a little more time with her before she got re-brainwashed, but she was a good season-long villain. I liked that we saw some of the earlier villains more than once, like Divatox. Ecliptor worked well as a support villain, and Darkonda being totally unpredictable was fun. Dark Specter was a bit of a non-entity in the grand scheme of things though.

Overall - 3.70

Hottest Ranger - Andros. The haircut alone was enough to win it for me tbh. Zhane was a close second.

Notable Episodes:

Grandma Matchmaker - Ashley's Grandma could have beaten up all of the villains on her own if she wanted.

A Date With Danger - Zhane x Astronema 4eva

Astronema Thinks Twice/The Rangers' Leap Of Faith - Karone deserved more time with her brother before going evil again!

Countdown To Destruction (Parts 1+2) - The end of six years of Ranger history, and a brilliant ending in itself. The 'We are Spartacus' moment was well and truly earned.

who was killed off too early: Well, since people don’t actually die in the PR verse’, I’ll say when Jason, Trini, and Zack left for the “Peace Conference” (aka failed contract negotiations)

who i used to hate but now i love: Lord Zedd (seriously, he gave me nightmares as a kid)

who i used to love but now i hate: Also Lord Zedd (he really improved as a villain as I got older)

who needs to be killed off asap: Kat

who is unfairly hated: Goldar. He’s just absurd

who is unfairly loved: Kat

who needs to sort out their priorities: Tommy Oliver

who needs a hug: Billy 

who needs to get out of their current relationship: Tommy when he decided to rebound with Kat

who the writers love: Tommy gets some seriously dramatic arc like...every 20 minutes

who needs a better storyline: Bulk and Skull

who has an amazing redemption arc: Tommy (seriously, the Green with Evil arc was one of the best in the entire history of the show)

who is hot af: I mean...Tommy. And Kim. Like....I’m pretty sure everyone knows where I stand with those two

who belongs in jail: Every single monster that interrupted Kim and Tommy on their dates in the park

who needs to be revived from the dead: Trini. I just miss her.

Umm… Well… Then I guess I want to bring more attention to Marik because he deserves to be loved by all. And I want to empathize on all the other aspects on him that have been completely neglected. Cuz it pains my heart that he’s just simply shoven away as this.. Idk.. Simple one layered character that doesn’t get more than a thought or two spent on him. And I just know that he has more to offer than the show lets on.. Whether he himself even knows it or not.

ᚡ:Random fact about the mun?Eeehhhh…. I’m really bad at these things cuz I really don’t do much other than roleplaying a psychopath and loving buns…So I don’t really know what I can add to that.. I love doom.. But it’s in my about mun info I think… I am the most terrible person when it comes to holding a conversation but I think I already said that somewhere as well…

I used to collect stuffed animals since the day I was born, and it was a shared hobby between my brother and I (who is four years younger than me) so when I was 14/15 we used to visit the thrift store and buy loooooooooooooooots of stuffed animals for like… 10 cents.. or 40 cents.. really.. the most expensive ones were like 2 euros.. And we did that for quite a while. Those days are past now and I’ve kept only the ones that mean most to me.

Still, I have 8 garbage-sized bags full of them.. I’m donating 20 bags to children in far away poor countries.

Not doing anything cuz period’s giving me a hard time hating on me so I haven’t been able to eat all day or so the slightest at all :\ I have a spastic bowel and it’s something chronic and it tends to get irritated when I’m on “those days” so whenever that is the case, which it is now, I’m in for a very unconfortable three days @.@

I also think Appa is going to be down with something again, he’s been sneezing and trying to clean his face all day and his nose looks rather runny. (Also this is from 3 days ago)I took Appa out, yesterday, with Fluffa’s buggy since I didn’t want him to miss out on the nicer weather being kept in my room all day because of his health continuously going up and down. He’s doing much better now, his nose was so dirty but it looks fine at the moment.

☢:When was the last time you went to the cinema? What movie did you watch?Uhhhh…. I think that was with my birthday two years ago? I went to see Jurassic World with my sister cuz she always insists we should go to the movies but I don’t really like the movies because you have to wait so long for the movie to actually start and also people in your seat… It’s rather a hassle so I prefer to watch movies from TV using DVD.

I only make special exceptions if it’s about a character I love or a subject. Such as dinosaurs, or Riddick…

Drabble - Heckyl

 [It’s been a while since I’ve written for him. But he’s popped back up recently for a very specific verse. So lemme give you a quick rundown of this verse because it’s not one on this blog yet. In most verses (excluding any Kendeckyl verses) Heckyl knew Karone while she was Astronema and had a very brief relationship with her before being captured by Sledge. In the verse this drabble is connected to, Heckyl and Astronema were expecting a child. This drabble details Heckyl’s capture in this verse. Enjoy the angst] @lostlittlekerovianprincess

In just a few short months, the outlaw Heckyl would be a father. A father to a very wonderful daughter carried by his Pretty Princess: Astronema. But as fate would have it. The outlaw/Alliance of Evil member had gained a lead on the Energems.

There was a system nearby said to hold at least one of them. He could check it out and be back in plenty of time for the birth of his daughter. Provided Snide didn’t screw things up.

He should have known it was too good to be true. Almost two hours after landing on the planet, he found himself trapped in a room. The moment he tried to turn around, the room shifted, changed into that of the maximum security cell of Sledge’s ship.

Heckyl fired of his energy blasts, trying to escape but it was no use, neither the door or the walls would budge.

A very familiar laugh caught Heckyl’s ears and the outlaw gripped the thin openings of his cell. “Ecliptor,” He growled, “Astra will kill you once she’s figured out what you’ve done.”

“No she won’t,” Ecliptor spoke, “Because you’ll never escape and she’ll never know it was me.”

Heckyl was about to reply when he heard more footsteps, “If you’re done messing with my prisoner I’ll take that payment now.”

“Of course Sledge,” Ecliptor replied and handed him a data chip, “And I trust you’ll keep your mouth shut?”

“Of course,” Sledge answered. “A pleasure doing business with you.”

“Give Lord Arcanon my regards,” Ecliptor said before turning back to Heckyl. “Now you sit tight. I will be sure my princess is well taken care of, far from the likes of you.” With that, Ecliptor walked off as Heckyl screamed obscenities at Ecliptor.

“You don’t understand a damn thing Ecliptor!” Heckyl yelled, “You’ll break her heart the second you tell her I’m not coming back!”

Ecliptor stopped and turned, “You should never have given her a heart in the first place.”

Later, when an unwanted transformation trapped him in the sword, Snide took the chance to mock Heckyl’s fate. “Oh ‘woe is me I won’t get to see the birth of my abomination’. Boo hoo! It’s your fault we’re trapped here! If you hadn’t been so eager you would have realized it was a trap from the start!”

“Me!? You’re just as eager to get the Energems! I said we should be careful but you insisted it would work out so don’t you pin this on me!”

The argument repeated itself for weeks. One day Heckyl sat next to the door of his cell sulking, as he knew this would be around the time Astronema would give birth. He was lost in his thoughts when there was a gentle tap on the door. “Heckyl?” A feminine voice whispered.

The outlaw peered out of his cell, glaring at the person who had disturbed him to find Poisandra crouched outside fidgeting nervously. “What do you want Pinky?”

The alien woman huffed, “I was going to give you something but if you’re going to give me attitude I won’t.”

Heckyl sighed heavily, “Fine, what do you want Poisandra?”

“Better,” She replied, “Here. Don’t ask me how I got it, but I thought you deserved to have it.” Poisandra slipped a piece of paper into Heckyl’s cell.

He looked at it with the dim light and his jaw dropped. In his hands was a picture of his Pretty Princess, but not just her, in her arms was unmistakably a child, their child.

“Word in the grapevine her name is Andromeda and that she was born about a week ago,” Poisandra explained.

Blue eyes wide, Heckyl looked out of the cell at his captor’s fiance, “Thank you.”

Poisandra nodded a little, “I’d been thinking about having kids with Sledge once we’re married, so I can’t imagine what it must be like to be separated from your child. So...I thought...you know.”

“Yeah,” Heckyl looked down at the picture again before slipping it into his coat pocket. “Thanks.”

Poisandra nodded again before standing up and walking away. Heckyl took out the picture again once he knew Poisandra was gone and continued to stare. She was right. Nobody on this ship, that he knew of, understood what it was like being separated from their child. Heckyl was more determined than ever to find a way out of his prison. Energems or not, he would see Astronema and Andromeda again.
