This Christmas season see’s the second Advent Calendar that has been released for the Disney Parks Droid Factory line, the first being in 2022. Packaged in a beautiful box depicting a Sandcrawler decked out in Christmas lights and decorations. This is the same box from 2022, but in different colours. This year being a light gray colour, instead of the brown colour typically used for Sandcrawlers. If you slide the Star Wars Droid Factory logoed slip band off, you can lift up the flap of the Sandcrawler to reveal stunning artwork depicting festive scenes going off inside, involving Jawa’s and droids. The slip band is green this year opposed to the red slip band used in 2022, but the artwork of the internal Sandcrawler is the same as 2022. On this artwork are 25 little windows to open, as you would expect from an advent calendar. Each droid has their own unique personality and colors. Open up the Sandcrawler to reveal and build 7 new droids to celebrate along with them for 25 days this season! May the Force be with you … and your Droids!”. Which again, is the same copy text from 2022, but with 7 droids, instead of 6. [gallery link="file" size="large" td_select_gallery_slide="slide" ids="168418,168419,168420,168421,168422,168423,168424,"] Unlike the 2022 calendar, this year's calendar does show you on the back of the box which droids are included in the, except for one mystery droid only shown in a black silhouette, though it is clear from the silhouette what type of droid this is. I do think this takes away from some of the fun and mystery of opening the windows each day. If you want to keep the box mint without opening the windows, you can cut the tape on the side and slide out the tray with all the parts. Behind each window there is a little red poly-bag with the Star Wars Droid Factory logo on, that contains the droid part(s) for that day. Some of the bags include multiple-parts, so be careful not to accidentally throw any parts away with the bags. This pack is now available on ShopDisney UK. It was briefly available on ShopDisney US, and expected to return soon, and also at selected Disney Park locations throughout the holiday season. rite aid always has such a hilariously broad chronological spread of toys. the last time i was in this store a yesr or two ago they had a revenge of the fallen scout class dirt boss, mint on dusty card, pegged for $16.99. this padme is more than ten years old. this padme has been on this peg at this rite aid for a decade. mint on yellowing card. Kenobi Droids. This group of four droids comes with the Disney Droid Factory 4-pack for the Kenobi show and is currently the only way to get 1-JAC at all and a better articulated version for NED-B in 3.75” scale than the one from the retro collection. My 1-JAC came with his arms attached the wrong way so the elbows would bend backwards while the hands were on the wrong arm each, so it required some hot water and arms and hands popping and reassembly before it looked like it should. As we all know his guns are glued to his thighs and not removable but his hands wouldn’t be able to hold them anyway. In my case the grip of the left thigh’s gun is aligned to the front while the right thigh’s gun aligns towards the back. Obviously this figure is a “lemon” given that the arms were attached the wrong way (which I could fix) and one pistol is glued the wrong way but that’s fine. It’s just a good indicator that it’s not only Hasbro who makes mistakes. NED-B is a better figure although his hands (or elbow joints) are set in a weird way so he can’t really hold his hammer (which is not included anyway) in a meaningful way while bending his elbows. R3-T2’s torso differs from the typical Hasbro astromech mold in that the “utility arm” on its chest is part of the torso as opposed to being a separate piece that is glued on the torso on Hasbro figures. The paint job, particularly the sandy weathering, reminds me of an R2-D2 figure from the ROTS line and makes this astromech look a bit outdated to me. The viper probe droid is the true star in this set as it has all the articulation in all its legs/arms/tentacles that you would ask for plus all the moveable bits it has in other versions. It is just a bit smaller than the common model. The Darth Vader TIE Fighter comes in evil grey color. The Solar Panels pop off at the push of a button to simulate "Battle Damage." A lever raises the cockpit seat. a red laser lights up and emits a whining laser sound when rear deck button is pushed. The Land Speeder is controlled by sound! It travels along by itself, and the remote control clicker moves it. Has hidden wheels so it seems to float. The dewback features independently movable legs, can move his tail left and right, which makes his head turn side to side! An action figure fits into the saddle through a trap door in the lizard's back. I believe it was cut from the original film. I always wanted the Star Wars Droid Factory. You could build R2-D2 and hundreds of other droids!
