Karan Johar launched Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor under his production banner with ‘Dhadak’. The film was a hit and the debutante received all the appreciation she deserved for her performance. KJo soon announced the cast of his upcoming period drama ‘Takht’ which included Janhvi along with many others.

Now, according to the latest reports, Janhvi will possibly star in the filmmaker’s another venture as a lead. Reportedly, Johar will be backing a biopic on Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena and he feels that Janhvi can play the Gunjan’s role perfectly. Karan thinks she has the right posture and attitude which is needed for the character.

The report further stated that the actress won’t be flying the helicopter for real but will learn how it works so that she would look comfortable on screen.

During Kargil War, Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena was awarded the Shaurya Vir and she was the first women to receive the honour. She was a part of the first batch of 25 women who were selected as Indian Air Force trainee officers in 1995.

Priyanka Chopra is back in the bay and has resumed her professional commitments after enjoying her bridal shower and bachelorette parties with her close friends.

While her fiance Nick Jonas is currently enjoying his bachelor party with his friends, the ‘Baywatch’ actress has resumed the shoot of Shonali Bose’s ‘The Sky is Pink’. Taking to social media PeeCee shared a picture of herself wherein she can be seen flaunting her big rock with a caption “The sun and I.. Delhi here we go.. #theskyispink.” Even her co-star Zaira Wasim took to her Instagram handle to share few snaps from the sets of the film.

‘The Sky Is Pink’, which also stars Farhan Akhtar and Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles is based on the life of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary and is scheduled to release next year in February.

However, what is interesting to note is not just the topic chosen by Vishesh but also the genre. It will be refreshing to see a Bhatt producing a comedy.

‘Mission Mangal’, which is being touted as India’s first space film starring Akshay Kumar in the main lead which will be helmed by Jagan Shakti. Earlier, Akki had taken to Twitter to reveal that he had signed a three-film deal with Fox Star Studios and Cape Of Good Films.

Now, the Khiladi of Bollywood took to Twitter once again to reveal the cast of the film ‘Mission Mangal’. He shared a picture with the cast of ‘Mission Mangal’ which also stars Kriti Kulhari, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Sharman Joshi and Nithya Menon.

He captioned the picture as “Proud and excited to bring the story of India’s Mars Mission, #MissionMangal to you. Coincidentally the mission was launched on this very date, 5th Nov. 2013. Meet the team and do share your best wishes for our shubh mangal journey. Shoot begins soon.”

The cast of the film is expected to start shooting for the film in mid-November. Meanwhile, on the professional front, Akshay has his kitty full with projects like ‘2.0’, ‘Good News’ and ‘Kesari’.

5/545‘Jabariya Jodi’: Parineeti Chopra shoots at Lucknow railway station, goes unnoticed

After the release of her last film, ‘Namaste England’, Parineeti Chopra is busy shooting for her next, ‘Jabariya Jodi’ opposite Sidharth Malhotra. Recently, the actress was shooting a particular scene at the Lucknow railway station and surprisingly she even sneaked out unnoticed after the shot.

According to reports, the makers had installed hidden cameras to avoid the crowds. Parineeti gave the perfect shot in one go much to the delight of the director and before commuters could realise that she was shooting. As Parineeti was in a deglam look, she went unnoticed and left the venue as soon as the shot was canned. By the time people could figure out what was happening, the unit had also made a quiet exit.

The film which went on floors a few months ago is being shot in and around Lucknow. It is slated to hit the theatres next year.

Dhadak box office day 1 is bigger than SOTY, earns Rs 8.71 crore

Dhadak, the Hindi remake of Marathi hit Sairat, has opened as per the expectations. The film, which is also marks the debut of late Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor, has collected more than Rs 8 crore on its opening day. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted the film’s first day business figures and compared it with the first day collection of Student Of The Year (2012).

Both the films are produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and were the launch vehicles of newcomers, mostly star-kids. While Student Of The Year featured Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra, Dhadak starred Janhvi and Shahid Kapoor’s half-brother Ishaan Khatter.

Adarsh said, “#Dhadak takes a HEROIC START… Rarely does a film starring absolute newcomers open so well… Day 1 is higher than #StudentOfTheYear [ 8 cr]… Fri 8.71 cr. India biz.”

Dhadak is directed by Shashank Khaitan who has earlier directed films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

Khaitan, in an interview to IANS, said, “I am feeling calm and composed because of the way this film has turned out to be. I am really happy with it. The gun has been fired and now nothing is in our hands. So, I am just excited about the audience reaction. Praying that they will like the film.”
