Bitcoin, Next Stop 69k: Will The Entire Crypto Market Rise With It?
Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Uniswap, XRP, Helium, Arweave, Filecoin, Polkadot, Stellar Lumens
The recent surge of Bitcoin past the $50,000 mark has sent shockwaves through the crypto community, igniting hopes of a broader market recovery. While Bitcoin often sets the tone for the rest of the cryptocurrency space, is its ascent enough to guarantee a sunny outlook for other digital assets? Letâs explore the implications and delve into some promising contenders poised to benefit from this potential upswing.
Bitcoinâs Bullish Breakout: A Rising Tide Lifting All Boats?
Historically, Bitcoinâs price movements have had a significant influence on the broader crypto market. Its recent rally could signal renewed investor confidence and increased risk appetite, potentially leading to positive spillover effects for other cryptocurrencies. This optimism stems from several factors:
Increased mainstream adoption:Â Growing institutional interest and regulatory frameworks are paving the way for wider acceptance of Bitcoin, potentially driving further price appreciation.
Limited supply:Â Bitcoinâs capped supply of 21 million coins creates scarcity, making it a potential hedge against inflation and attracting investors seeking long-term value.
Technological advancements:Â Ongoing developments in the Lightning Network and other scaling solutions aim to address transaction speed and scalability concerns, enhancing Bitcoinâs utility.
Hot on Bitcoinâs Heels: Promising Crypto Assets to Watch
While Bitcoin may be the bellwether, several other projects hold immense potential:
Ethereum (ETH):Â The leading smart contract platform, facilitating decentralized applications (dApps) across various industries like finance, gaming, and NFTs. ETH 2.0, its upcoming upgrade, promises improved scalability and sustainability.
Cardano (ADA):Â Focused on security and scalability through a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism, Cardano aims to become a global financial system for everyone. Its rigorous peer-reviewed development process adds to its appeal.
Uniswap (UNI):Â A pioneering decentralized exchange (DEX) enabling peer-to-peer cryptocurrency trading without intermediaries. UNI governance tokens allow users to participate in platform decisions.
XRP (XRP):Â Designed for facilitating fast and cost-effective cross-border payments, XRP is popular among financial institutions. Its ongoing legal battle with the SEC adds an element of uncertainty.
Helium (HNT):Â Powering the decentralized Helium Network for internet-of-things (IoT) devices, HNT rewards individuals for hosting hotspots, creating a unique incentive model.
Arweave (AR):Â A decentralized storage solution offering permanent and verifiable data storage, Arweave caters to long-term data preservation needs.
Filecoin (FIL):Â Another decentralized storage project, Filecoin incentivizes network participants to store data securely and efficiently.
Polkadot (DOT):Â Aiming to connect different blockchains, Polkadot facilitates interoperability between diverse ecosystems, potentially unlocking the full potential of blockchain technology.
Stellar Lumens (XLM):Â Similar to XRP, XLM focuses on fast and low-cost cross-border payments, targeting remittance corridors and financial inclusion.
Remember: While Bitcoinâs momentum is encouraging, the crypto market remains volatile. Thorough research and understanding of individual projectsâ fundamentals are crucial before making any investment decisions. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
This list highlights just a few of the many exciting projects in the crypto space. With Bitcoin breaking barriers, the coming months could see a revitalized market, but always approach every investment with caution and do your own research.

Influence of Drive Failures on Data Recovery Price
The cost of data recovery can be significantly influenced by drive failures, whether they are mechanical or logical in nature. Mechanical failures, such as issues with the read/write head or motor, often require more extensive and costly recovery procedures. On the other hand, logical failures, such as file system corruption or deleted partitions, may involve less complex methods of recovery. The severity of the drive failure and the extent of the damage will determine the level of expertise and resources needed, ultimately affecting the price of data recovery services.

Thoughts I have about Android!reader
Warnings: Just the regular sci-fi stuff that comes with androids, the 141 are a little mean because they donât get it at first but theyâll warm up to you eventually
The Android program that made you was so hidden that no one outside a certain branch of the government knew about itâŠuntil they decided to put you to the test.
You were supposed to be the best data analyst, the best planner, the best library of intelligence, the best everything the military needed besides being a soldier (no laws for androids if they attack someone yet)
They made you look so close to human that Laswell and the 141 thought you were human despite all the wires underneath the false skin
At first they were accepting of a new member. Their own âguy in the chairâ as Soap put it.
Soap and Gaz tried to make you feel welcome, inviting you out to drinks or to hang with them but you never took their offer
Ghost tried a couple times but when you blew him off he decided you werenât worth the trouble and promptly ignored you
Your orders were to collect intelligence and use it, slowly let it make you smarter, bonding with the task force was not within them
Even Price tried, though nothing worked
âEven if youâre not on the field weâre still a team.â He told you one day as you were searching through the new intel they had recently gotten
âI understand but Iâm just here to do my job to make your life easier.â That was always your response and frankly, it was starting to get on his nerves
You were starting to get on everyoneâs nerves
They understood the need for professionalism but you seemed to take it to the extreme. You never interacted or interfered with anything they did but having you there, being unwilling to cooperate made them antsy
Were you a plant? Someone pretending to be their ally to get info? They didnât know.
Soon they stopped interacting with you unless they absolutely needed to
It didnât bother you. Nothing did. You didnât have feelings, no emotions, you just did the job you were made for and did it exceptionally well without error
That was until you made one mistake
After analyzing all the intel you could you told Price the best course of action, one that you picked out from the hundreds of different generated plans you came up with that you knew would succeedâŠonly for it to end up with Gaz in the infirmary
You were confused? Youre not sure if thatâs what you could called it but you didnât have a reaction in your code for that. There shouldnât have been an issues, there was no margin for error in your calculations and yet he had been injured
After looking at the intel again, you decided it was time for damage control
Gaz was a little weary when you showed up at his bed, staring at him with those strange almost lifeless eyes of yours
âYour vitals are stable, you should make a quick recovery.â You told him and he nodded
âNothing I havenât had before. It couldâve been worse.â He assured you but you shook your head.
âIt shouldnât have happened at all. I thought my calculations were perfect but I made an error that couldâve costed your life. Iâm sorry, sergeant Garrick.â
Gaz was baffled. One the one hand he wanted to believe you were sorry because this was the most you showed about caring for one of them but on the other hand you looked completely emotionless. It was a little awkward but he couldnât find it in his heart to be mad at you or to think you were joking
âItâs all good.â He gave you a reassuring smile. âIt happens. We still got what we needed, so no harm done.â
ââŠI see.â You were puzzled but nodded.
You expected repercussions. If your engineers knew you made a mistake theyâd try to recode you so you wouldnât make the same mistake again, possibly wipe you and start over.
But the 141 didnât know you were a machine.
The others joined and you understood you wouldnât be welcomed.
âCaptain, Iâd like to apologize to you as well for my error. It wonât happen again.â
Price just raised an eyebrow confused.
âYou couldnât prepare for an RPG taking down a heloâŠbut alright.â
You didnât stick around, deciding that you would go over the intel again to find what caused your mistake, leaving the 141 confused by you.
A/n: donât really know what this is but just decided to write something, might continue it might not weâll see

There are many web hosting companies to choose from if you're taking the plunge into making your own website with a comic content management system (CMS) like ComicControl or Grawlix, a Wordpress comic theme like Toocheke or ComicPress, or a HTML template to cut/paste code like Rarebit. While these solutions are generally free, finding a home for them is... generally not. It can be hard to choose what's best for your webcomic AND your budget!
We took a look at a few of the top hosting services used by webcomics creators using webcomic CMSes, and we put out a poll to ask your feedback about your hosts!
This post may be updated as time goes on as new services enter the hosting arena, or other important updates come to light.
Questions:
đ» I can get a free account with Wix/Squarespace/Carrd, could I just use those for my comic? - Web hosts like this may have gallery functions that could be adapted to display a series of pages, but they are very basic and not intended for webcomics.
đ Wait, I host on Webtoon, Tapas, Comic Fury, or some other comic website, why are they not here? - Those are comic platforms! We'll get into those in a future post!
đ”ïžââïžWhy does it say "shared hosting"? Who am I sharing with? - "Shared hosting" refers to sharing the server space with other customers. They will not have access to your files or anything, so it is perfectly fine to use for most comic CMSes. You may experience slowing if there is too much activity on a server, so if you're planning to host large files or more than 10 comics, you may want to upgrade to a more robust plan in the future.
Web Host List
Neocities
Basic plan pricing: Free or $5/month. Free plan has more restrictions (1 GB space, no custom domain, and slower bandwidth, among other things)
Notes: Neocities does not have database support for paid or free accounts, and most comic CMS solutions require this (ComicCtrl, Grawlix, Wordpress). You will need to work with HTML/CSS files directly to make a website and post each page.
Hostinger
Basic plan pricing: $11.99/month or $7.99/month with four year commitment (monthly, 1, 2, and 4 year plans available).
Notes: Free domain for the 1st year. Free SSL Certifications. Weekly backups.
KnownHost
Basic plan pricing: $8.95/month or $7.99/month with four year commitment (monthly, 1, 2, and 4 year plans available).
Notes: Free DDOS protection. Free SSL Certifications.
InMotion Hosting
Basic plan pricing: $12.99/month or $9.99/month with three year commitment (monthly, 1, and 3 year plans available).
Notes:Â Free SSL Certifications, free domain names for 1 and 3 year plans. 24/7 live customer service and 90-day money-back guarantee. Inmotion also advertises eco-friendly policies: We are the first-ever Green Data Center in Los Angeles. We cut cooling costs by nearly 70 percent and reduce our carbon output by more than 2,000 tons per year.
Reviews:
đâI can't remember it ever going down.â
đâInMotion has a pretty extensive library full of various guides on setting up and managing websites, servers, domains, etc. Customer service is also fairly quick on responding to inquiries.â đâI wish it was a bit faster with loading pages.â
Ionos Hosting
Basic plan pricing: $8/month or $6/month with three year commitment (monthly, 1, 2 and 3 year plans available).
Notes: Free domain for the first year, free SSL Certification, Daily backup and recovery is included. Site Scan and Repair is free for the first 30 days and then is $6/month.
Reviews:
đâVery fast and simpleâ đâCustomer service is mediocre and I can't upload large filesâ
Bluehost
Basic plan pricing: $15.99/month or $4.95/month with three year commitment (monthly, 1, 3 year plans available).
Notes: Free domain and SSL certificates (for first year only). 24/7 Customer Service. Built to handle higher traffic websites. Although they specialize in Wordpress websites and provide updates automatically, that's almost a bad thing for webcomic plugins because they will often break your site. Their cloud hosting services are currently in early access with not much additional information available.
Reviews:
đ"The fees keep going up. Like I could drop $100 to cover a whole year, but now I'm paying nearly $100 for just three months. It's really upsetting."
đ"I have previously used Bluehostâs Wordpress hosting service and have had negative experiences with the service, so please consider with a grain of salt. I can confirm at least that their 24/7 customer service was great, although needed FAR too often."
Dreamhost
Basic plan pricing: $7.99/month or $5.99/month with three year commitment (monthly, 1, 3 year plans available).
Notes: Free SSL Certificates, 24/7 support with all plans, 97-day moneyback guarantee. Not recommended for ComicCtrl CMS
Reviews:
đâThey've automatically patched 2 security holes I created/allowed by mistake.â đâPrices are very reasonableâ đ âback end kind of annoying to useâ đ âwordpress has some issuesâ đ âit's not as customizable as some might wantâ
GoDaddy
Basic plan pricing: $11.99/month or $9.99/month with three year commitment (monthly, 1, 2, and 3 year plans available).
Notes: Free 24/7 Customer service with all plans, Free SSL Certificates for 1 year, free domain and site migration.
Reviews:
đReasonable intro prices for their Economy hosting, which has 25GB of storage đMigrated email hosting service from cPanel to Microsoft Office, which has greater support but may not be useful for most webcomic creators. đ Many site issues and then being upsold during customer service attempts. đ Server quality found lacking in reviews đ Marketing scandals in the past with a reputation for making ads in poor taste. Have been attempting to clean up that image in recent years. đ âGoDaddy is the McDonald's of web hosting. Maybe the Wal-Mart of hosting would be better. If your website was an object you would need a shelf to put it on. You go to Wal-Mart and buy a shelf. It's not great. It's not fancy. It can only hold that one thing. And if we're being honest - if the shelf broke and your website died it wouldn't be the end of the world. The issue comes when you don't realize GoDaddy is the Wal-Mart of hosting. You go and try to do things you could do with a quality shelf. Like, move it. Or add more things to it.â MyWorkAccountThisIs on Reddit*
Things to consider for any host:
đž Introductory/promotional pricing - Many hosting companies offer free or inexpensive deals to get you in the door, and then raise the cost for these features after the first year or when you renew. The prices in this post are the base prices that you can expect to pay after the promotional prices end, but may get outdated, so you are encouraged to do your own research as well.
đ» Wordpress hosting - Many of the companies below will have a separate offering for Wordpress-optimized hosting that will keep you updated with the latest Wordpress releases. This is usually not necessary for webcomic creators, and can be the source of many site-breaking headaches when comic plugins have not caught up to the latest Wordpress releases.
Any basic hosting plan on this list will be fine with Wordpress, but expect to stop or revert Wordpress versions if you go with this as your CMS.
đ€ You don't have to go it alone - While free hosts may be more limited, paid hosting on a web server will generally allow you to create different subdomains, or attach additional purchased domains to any folders you make. If you have other comic-making friends you know and trust, you can share your server space and split the cost!
Want to share your experience?
Feel free to contribute your hosting pros, cons, and quirks on our survey! We will be updating our list periodically with your feedback!

Total trade with China reached A$219bn (US$145bn) in 2023, the highest-ever level and up from A$168bn in 2019, the last year before the outbreak of the pandemic and imposition of Chinese tariffs and sanctions, according to official data from the Australian government.[...]
The recovery in trade value has been driven in particular by rising prices of iron ore â Australiaâs most important export â and a rebound in services after travel and tourism dropped off during the pandemic and relations soured.

By Jack Hellner
This article in USA Today is so full of misinformation that itâs hard to know where to start. They work very hard to absolve Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and their policies for the rapid rise in inflationâbut the actual evidence shows how responsible they really are.
Voters blamed Biden and Harris for rising costs. Was that fair? We asked economists. [I]s the Joe Biden and Kamala Harris administration to blame? Yes, the economists said, but only to a degree. Of the seven economists who spoke to USA TODAY, most cited the global pandemic, not Biden, as the primary cause of the nationâs inflation crisis. [snip] Biden and the Fed succeeded at pulling the economy out of the downturn. The job market swiftly stabilized. But the stimulus effort also fed inflation, the economists said, which ultimately helped sink the Democrats at the polls. âI think that they thought the public would reward them more for a fast recovery, in terms of jobs, than they would punish them for inflation,â said Ryan Bourne, an economist at the Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank. âI think that proved a huge miscalculation.â Yet, most economists queried by USA TODAY listed the pandemic as the main reason for the historic price surge. Inflation, they said, would have happened no matter who was president. âThereâs a long list of reasons for the high inflation,â [Mark] Zandi said. âThe Biden-Harris policies that are on the list are at the very bottom.â [snip] âBiden/Harris donât bear primary blame for the inflation,â said Jeffrey Frankel, a Harvard University economist. âPrimary blame, rather, goes to supply constraints as the economy came out of COVID and the acceleration of commodity prices that came with Russiaâs invasion of Ukraine.â
Foremost, these economists blame the pandemic for the inflation, but looking back at the data reveals that inflation stayed somewhere below 2% for the year of the pandemic (2020) before Biden was even inâit was 1.4% when Biden actually took office, and had remained low even with all the stimulus that was approved during Trumpâs last year of his first term.

Your post about how the clinical process surrounding mental illness and addiction was really interesting!
I wonder what your thoughts are about Housing First models and Common Grounds models? Because I feel like they speak directly to your points and provide the needs but also a structure that can be relied on if one wishes to change oneself.
my job as a research assistant is actually doing an evaluation of the benefits of a massive housing first project in boston! i am a fan of housing first particularly because i think everyone should be housed + the possibilities for life shrink dramatically the second somebody is unhoused, regardless of their substance use status. unhoused ppl are treated as less than human (sometimes less than animal tbh) in many spaces. i also have a personal investment because my brother overdosed in part because of the fact that he had been kicked out of his living situation for using + was forced to use with a depressed tolerance in a remote location. if he had been in a housing situation which was not contingent on sobriety, where others may have been present to narcan him or he would not have had the immense stress + trigger of dogshit menial labor jobs needed to pay the ridiculous, price gouging rents at sober living- i mean, i can't speculate, but it's something i do think about.
i think my hesitation with how it can be implemented is, again, the assumption that the end goal for everyone is recovery. my position is not "well some people can't recover" or "well some people can't recover until xyz is met" but "nobody is obligated to recover, ever, and recovery is a subjective concept which can be put to extremely reactionary uses. i want to reduce people's suffering and increase their possibilities for life."
i do think, based on my work, that it's really important for people who are using substances to have access to resources which facilitate their safety and happiness + a lot of them would probably choose either sobriety, MAT, or safer drug use habits if that was something which was easy for them to do. they often express genuinely felt desires to "get better" (in whatever way that means to them or whatever way they hope it means to me) but similar, competing desires to continue experiencing the benefits of their drug use, as well as avoiding the negatives of sobriety. while i chafe at the idea that all people's "true selves" want to recover (in the specific way that recovery is constructed by substance use treatment providers), i do think that most people want to suffer less. things like methadone/suboxone (or safe, legal, surveillance free supply!!!), medications provided on site, easily accessible, non judgemental medical treatment, etc can save lives.
it's important for ppl to be very skeptical of who is allocating/managing the resources for these interventions + their motivations. to be frank, i get scared about the future of the (admittedly imperfect) housing projects i work with because they are funded by the state of MA with the primary goal being to get ppl off the street, because housed members of the community were complaining about the encampments. the state very clearly wants to see that these projects 1) reduce the prevalence of visible homelessness and 2) reduce the rate of drug use among participants. my job is very explicitly to collect and produce data that indicates this + the questions i ask when i collect data are quite explicitly centered around figuring out if being housed makes ppl use less drugs. the point here is that the state absolutely can + will revoke the massive amounts of money it has allocated towards these programs if they don't see them as making people Stop Doing Drugs or Stop Wandering the Streets. this is why i think harm reduction responses should be grassroots responses originating within + for communities, as described in some of the chapters of Saving Our Own Lives. unfortunately, these communities rarely have the infrastructure or the resources to implement these projects, so they must rely on the state + all of its messy biopolitical motives
