I like Daisy Ridley and I can tell she tried to put on a *little* weight... but *sigh* ...THIS is what Trudy Ederle actually looked like:

This was an opportunity to show an elite athlete's body at a healthy weight that was ABSOLUTELY necessary to be the pioneer excelling in her sport that she was. ...And they blew it. Worse, because it's such a rare opportunity that makes it even less likely to see something like this come along for the thicker girls (and boys and non-binaries) who feel a way about their thicker physiques and what they can *do* because of it. This is who I would have cast to do this movie instead:

Joining in on the Studio Ghibli conversation.

If you or any of your followers have HBOMax and are interested in checking out said films, they have most of them up there and grouped together under Studio Ghibli in the Hubs.

I highly recommend checking them out. Everyone I've shown them to has enjoyed them. Even the ones who rarely, if ever, watch animated stuff. For those that chose to watch the English dubbed versions there are plenty of recognizable English speaking actors who have lent their voices to the films.
