Shreknically this shit has been happening ever since AAVE has existed. While there's always going to be an overlap between southern/plains/western/texan talk and AAVE because history, people have explicitly introjected the dialect many times in history. Like I guarantee white people didn't invent dope or homedog or gangsta, we just went "wow that sounds cool!" and just started saying it. Like it predates tiktok by a century or five. Tho I'll always hear Buck Strictland when I read "gyatt"
“neopronouns are weird” every time i wake up there’s a 75% chance that everyone’s vocabulary has changed overnight. brother what is a gyatt
#'Gyatt dangit hank I'm havin' an infarcten'#or however you spelt it#I always see the real problem with this is that it's not appropriation#it's straight-ass theft#Cuz black people are suppressed to the point that people THINK it's tiktok language#just one of billions (I'm prolly not even exaggerating) of things stolen from black people#Like I can't speak for an actual black person#but my understanding is the real crime is that white people have made money off of black people even in just appropriating culture#since like forever
