That is all I said to him when I went to take this pic, bc we had to be quick and I had spoken to him the same day and the other days before when I was cosplaying Kuwei.

For a second he thought I wanted him to fix smth on his collar bc I pointed at mine before finishing the sentence but he got it quick as usual, did the pose and when we were done he gave me a sly acknowledging smile going "That was good." cause I did just ask as if I would have asked anyone else for a favor just with a little nod to my voice. I love how it turned out, I could totally see a scene like that happening in universe XD

I wanted to go for untwisting the backpack strap first of fixing the collar but figured both would look awkward on photo and I think I made the right decision going with this version.

Into The Fold this last weekend was so unbelievably incredible - I had the most amazing time, met some truly wonderful people, and managed to come away from it all winning second prize for my Wylan cosplay??

Hearing everyone say how much they loved the cosplay was already magical enough, but to hear it directly from the cast - from Jack!!- took my gratitude to a whole new level. I had so many people tell me afterwards just how wild their reactions had been, and I’m just so happy that I could do Wylan justice! 🧪💣

what are peoples opinions on white people cosplaying poc characters? like i’m talking without doing things to be racist (like black face, eye tape etc.) to change their feature but like,, idk a white person cosplaying james potter (who is widely headcanonned to be desi or latino) or even a canonically character of colour like inej gafha and jesper fahey?

i’m asking to educate myself on the matter because it isn’t something i know that much about and these are characters i love but have never really looked into cosplaying as i’m not sure if it’s appropriate (as a white person)

what do you associate with nina? i wanna embroider little pictures onto my nina dress and so far i have a crow, a heart (anatomical), a flower (to represent jurda and jurda parem), and bones (to represent her 'power swap')

is there anything else i could add in?

Paddy is such a champ for real. His stage presence is so so fun! He just seems happy to be there and engage with everything going on. I can also not stress enough how no camera recording of him truly captures how he actually just looks like a prince in real life!

I'm super happy to have gotten a pic with him this time around.

With the ongoing campaign to save Shadow and Bone going as strong as ever, and with the upcoming billboard reveals in LA and London, I thought I’d share these photos of my Wylan cosplay and show some love for one of my fav book characters of all time! 🧪💣

And yet her hands were shaking. Wasn't this the way drüskelle thought? Destroy the threat, wipe it out, no matter that the person in front of you was innocent.

"Nina", Matthias said softly, "he's just a kid. He's one of us."

One of us. A boy not much younger than she was, caught up in a war he hadn't chosen for himself. A survivor.

Day 2 of Rose City Comic Con! I have wanted to cosplay Wylan ever since I first read Six of Crows -- I am drawn to character arcs that involve discovering one's own self-worth, and I was excited to read about someone who plays the same instruments I do. I had originally used a darker blue fabric for the vest, but it didn't seem quite right, so I tried again with a lighter blue jacquard fabric. I may also need to find different blue colored contacts -- they didn't show up clearly in person or on camera!

I didn't end up with any pictures from the convention itself on Saturday, but my friend was kind enough to take this photo for me in her apartment.
