Qs for your cult of the lamb au as requested :]]
Does it have a name?
Describe the base idea for it to me like I'm a toddler
Who's your favorite character to draw?
What's a nom-spoiler headcanon you can tell us?
Hiiii omg thank you so much for asking!
The working name I have for it is the "Beyond Death Au"
My fave to draw is the Lamb because I am having so so much trouble figuring out my design for Nar Nar
Imma put the headcanon here cause all that got so so long but I imagine the Darkwoods as a Baoyu and in future art Imma have a lot of fun with that
Now under the cut is the whole premise of the au and some spicy Lamb Art😩🔥🤯🤯🤯
I made this au because I kept wondering what happened to all the Lambs after they died. The resurrection ritual as done in the game follows the rule that as long as a follower has not been sacrificed to other entities, they can be resurrected.
My brain makes sense of this by using the law of matter. When followers die they aren't destroyed, they are transferred somewhere else that the bishop/God of death has access to, or they're transferred to other beings out of death's reach.
The best way to describe it is like a sandwich, the sandwich is either in the fridge where you can get it later or someone else has your sandwich and that's out of your hands now. (If it wasn't clear the sandwich in this analogy is souls who have died)
So in the case of the souls of the dead lambs, where are the damn sandwiches????
It could be that they don't have access to the souls of the lambs because they aren't devoted to the cult since you aren't able to resurrect heretics, but is this a case of can't or just rather not? What'd be the point storywise of resurrecting them in game. It also wouldn't make sense for the Bishop of Death to only have domain over the dead devoted to them.
Now, knowing all this who could blame a lamb with the world on their shoulders for making questionable decisions to find the answer to all this?
Thanks for reading it all here’s that hot spicy boiling lamb art/j 🫣🤫🤯😩🔥🔥🔥🔥

"What is Run, Lamb, Run?"
Run, Lamb, Run, or RLR, is a Cult of the Lamb based DND campaign being played by a private group of friends. This blog is to document art, shenanigans and lore.
"What is it about?"
RLR is a crossover AU between multiple friends' COTL AU's. It follows the story of a group of targeted sheep/goats on the run through the Lands of the Old Faith during the Lamb Genocide. The group of 10 is stuck on the continent once belonging to the long lost god of Death, and they must reach the gateway to freedom and escape- before it's too late.

Every single time fanart of The Goat with "puppy dog/good Narinder" comes across my feed I Physically Wince.
Like god damn guys I know I'm from a different world and I'm an alternate version of the Lamb in canon and all that, but why have you butchered Narinder like that and WHY are you assuming I was his vessel at all. I wasnt. My crown was Shamuras. Come on. I'm Literally Purple. Some people figured that out! But not enough of them did!! Pain and Suffering!!
I hate that the fandom just so quickly jumped to "Goat's world is an opposite personality au" type of thing instead of genuinely trying to play with possibilities beyond making some pathetic Narinder knockoff.
I don't really know how I felt about the guy in my timeline, I don't have a lot of feelings on the tl as a whole yet really, but I know that this feels like character assassination just to TRY and use my existance to make a personality swap au w/ Lamb and Narinder. I love Narilamb really I do, I even qkinned Narinder for a moment back before Goat was revealed, but I swear sometimes this fandom feels a little TOO focussed on shipping for being a resource management game about running a cult- Or maybe I'm just looking in the wrong spots.
Narinder is THE LAMB'S boyfriend. Not mine. No version of him is. Stop. Oh my god please stop. I am not affiliated with this guy. ESPECIALLY not one as pathetic as the puppy dog guy. A Death God should not be that much of a soft little pushover I Hate It.
~The Goat (cotl) 🕯♟
(p.s. if there happens to be anyone out there who is a puppy/good guy Narinder, please don't read this as hate for you. It'd be a cool idea to play with if it wasnt being shoved onto Me Specifically. And. Was executed better than "uwu lil baby bean". I'm sure yall understand.)

My Cult of the Lamb Theories
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wanted to consolidate my COTL Worldbuilding theories. When commenting on posts I reference them a lot so why not put them all in one place. I'll update this list as needed.
Most of my theories are about how the world of COTL works and my favorite blorbos. Mainly TOWW, his sons and one-off posts about minor characters like Midas or Sozo. I also do character analysis if there's enough information to do so.
They're free to reference as that is the nature of worldbuilding. All that I ask is that some credit be given if they are used. I do NOT allow the use of my work to be used to train AI though.
(This post is always being updated so keep your eyes peeled folks!)
Tumblr media
Theory 1 - Why does only TOWW's head transform in battle?
Theory 2 - Why TOWW becomes a follower after his defeat.
Theory 3 - Haro was a Bishop of the Old Faith.
Theory 4 - The Birth of Aym and Baal was what finally caused the Bishops to turn on Narinder.
Theory 5 - Clauneck was the person who originally foresaw the Lamb prophecy.
Theory 6 - Helob is an ant mimic. It's why he looks so different from other spiders.
Theory 7 - Sozo's followers obeyed the mushroom growing from his head, not him.
Theory 8 - Aym and Baal are Narinder's sons.
Theory 9 - TOWW needed to kill us to leave the Realm Beyond.
Theory 10 - Chemach was the one who caused the crowned gods to go extinct.

whats your writing process like?
Hi! Sorry for taking a bit to get to your ask, I've been taking my time to make the most comprehensive answer I can, and that takes a bit of thinking on my end to figure out what my process really even is.
My process can be divided into 6 (and a half) steps, which greatly blend and blur together, but that'll I'll separate out for an easier time telling you.
I will be using the 'A Guide To Becoming A God's Consort' AU (Also known as Cult of the Cat AU) and all its works as examples throughout this list.
Step 1 - Base Idea
The base idea is where it all begins. It's the gimmick of the story. What is the main focus of the story? What is this about? For CotC, that was it being a Cult of the Lamb adaption, with the Puss x Death ship. Strip away everything, and that's what this story is.
Step 2 - Rough Plot Ideas
Once I have the base idea, I start figuring out more. What ships will there be? How do I want this to feel? Do I want it to end happy, or sad? What are some of the things I want to happen? This isn't anywhere near complete, and is rather just a general idea about what I'll want. CotC actually started a bit unusually to most of my AUs. Rather than start writing with any proper ideas, I started with 'What To Do If Your God Propositions You (A Guide)', and that did not have a whole lot of thought put in it besides 'tentacle smuttiness and CotL crossover'. The planning of the plot of 'What to do when you fall in love with your god (A Guide)' came later, when I made the decision to take this beyond a smutty oneshot.
Step 3 - Peer Review
And then, I send the ideas over on Discord to some friends. This is only a recent thing for me, though putting this much time and thought into planning works is also quite new too. I used to wing it a lot, but I don't like doing that now. So, I send the ideas on over, and get criticism, as well as more ideas to add to it and further flesh out. We bounce ideas off of each other, building the ideas into more well rounded points, and fill in gaps. We also roleplay scenes, which I will later along the line adapt into the work.
Step 3 1/2 - Stew Time!
This one both is an isn't a joke, haha. More often than not, when an idea reaches the peer review point, and we've discussed it for a day or so, depending on how captivating it is, the idea then goes on the shelf. Or, it will go on the shelf during or right after Step 4. I have 8 work-in-progresses posted. I have 49 single, multichapter works, six series', and 26 oneshots in various draft states, but all in documents. All for Puss in Boots alone. I have more ideas that have gone through the first three steps that are just sitting in Discord, not put in documents. As much as I wish I could, I just can't write all the ideas I get, and it's only the ones that truly catch my attention that make it to Step 4 and beyond.
Step 4 - Transferring
Once I'm happy with an idea, and I transfer it over to a Google Document. I do this by copy-pasting all relevant Discord messages into an empty document. Then, I go through and tidy everything up to make it comprehensive, putting points together if they need to be, rewriting things to not be addressing other people, cutting out anything I decided against using, ect. I add to it as I see fit, further fleshing things out. Once its all ready and tidied, it either gets shelfed, or it goes onto the next stage.
Step 5 - Writing
This is the hardest step for me to explain. I just pull up a new document, and get to it. I try and keep my chapters around 3k words now, while my oneshots vary, some being 10k+, and others being split to have multiple chapters depending on how I feel about splitting. I will also, more often than not, listen to music, sometimes instrumentals, sometimes with lyrics depending on if I want the music to match the mood of what I'm writing, or if I am able to focus on writing if I have lyrics. If I have roleplays I want to add to the work, then I copy-paste them over, and rewrite them to fluff them up and make all the responses blend together seamlessly. I write until I reach my minimum word goal and feel I am at a good stopping point. I don't write drafts. What I post is what I wrote the first go around. If I don't like something, I will amend what I don't like, but other than that I don't do drafts.
Step 6 - Editing and Posting
These happen near simultaneously, so I'll just put these together. I do two rounds of reading and editing. I read it in the document, correcting any spelling, grammar and HTML tags. Then, I put it all into AO3, and go to see the work preview so I can check its all formatted correctly and see if I can pick out anymore mistakes. Once everything is ready, I post.
So that's my writing process! Titling and summary writing always varies as to when I do them. Sometimes they're the first things I come up with, other times its more around the middle, most of the time its the last. It depends on when the idea for a title comes to me, and when I can figure out a nice way to summaries the work.
Other authors, feel free to hop in and share your processes!

Okayyyy so. I’ve been rotating this idea in my mind since I got CotL and my AU brain activated immediately, so I just mashed my two biggest projects into one big mess.
The story is... surely something! Basically the four bishops got their powers from a deal with the One who waits, which in turn asked them to adopt Perseus and then sacrifice him to become a vessel for Narinder. Shenanigans ensue, the four realize that child murder is bad, found family time, Narinder can go fuck himself.
More detailed info under the cut because I put way too much effort in this and you WILL suffer with me.
Alright. I’ll be the first to admit that this AU has very little in common with the funny lamb game, aside from aesthetic and the general tone of the story, but I swear I did my best. Basically the story itself starts a bit before the main cult, when a village at the edge of a forest gets pillaged and burnt to the ground. Our four protagonists found themselves mortally wounded and on the brink of death, until...
At the edge of life, they meet with The One who waits (probably Satan, or Thanatos, I will never fully develop this story lmao) who makes a deal with them: he will bring them back to life and grant them powers beyond their dreams, with the only catch that they’ll have to bring back the ways of the Old Faith. Which in this case means starting a cult in his honor and nursing a child until they’ll be strong enough to become Narinder’s vessel. The child in question is Perseus, mysterious baby rumored to be the son of an ancient god, one of the last scraps of the Old Faith.
The four are sent back to the land of the living, with Perseus, and while he is the supposed leader of the cult, the four bishops are the ones who actually pull the strings of the whole thing, while teaching and caring for Perseus in the meantime. Soon it becomes apparent that the only way to make Perseus a vessel of Narinder is to sacrifice him once his little baby body is strong enough to hold that kind of power. And since child murder is generally considered wrong, this creates some tensions between the four bishops.
In the end they will understand that The One Who Waits is not to be trusted, and even discover the truth about the destruction of their previous village: it was Narinder and his acolytes all along! Oh no! The four (five with Perseus) will unite against the Big Bad Guy and bring him down with the power of friendship. And they lived happily ever after <3 And now for the characters themselves
Judas: always nervous, just wants the cult to run as smoothly as possible and desperately needs a break. He’s not pleased with the fact that he’ll have to kill a child, but he’s willing to go through with it for the sake of his own loved ones. Still convinced that Narinder will heal them once the deed is done. He wouldn’t even mind staying blind forever, but absolutely hates what happened to Apollyon and Magdalene. He’s not a great fighter, being as strong as a wet paper towel, but what he lacks in strength he makes up in fervour, which makes him a very powerful Curse user. His favorite curses are Hounds of Fate and the Maelstrom, and while he’s not that good in closed quarters, can defend himself with the Dagger (especially the Bane Dagger for the poison). He takes Perseus’s eduation extremely seriously, and tries incredibly hard to make him behave in a way appropriate for a cult leader. This doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about Perseus, far from it, but he knows what will have to happen in the end, so he tries to ignore any fatherly feelings that pop up. Still, it’s so hard not to be proud of Perseus when he gets a big word right, and he also taught him how to recognize birds by their sound and did he tell you about that time Perseus did a sermon all by himself-
Magdalene: the one who acts more as a mother to Perseus, more than willing to let him have some extra playtime and let him be friends with children his age. Judas is not too pleased with this (”Think of the cult! What will the followers think seeing their Leader playing like a commoner!”) but with a bit of coaxing he’s willing to see her side of things. And also he’s blind so going behind his back is very easy. Her throat was cut during the aforementioned village destruction, and while Narinder let her live again, he did nothing to help with her condition. Talking is extremely difficult for her, not to mention painful, and while the bandages do a decent job at holding her together, they do not stop the bleeding and need to be changed at least twice a day (this is true for all of them, their injuries do not heal, but also they can’t die from them because of the deal with the One Who Waits). She’s physically pretty strong, and her weapon of choice is the axe. She may look motherly and sweet but she’s also capable of cleaving heretics in two with one single blow. She usually goes on crusade either with Judas or Azazel, who are more skilled in long distance combat.
Azazel: a lowly demon turned conman turned demigod. Azazel starts this story as a scammer, trying to con people into worshiping him as a god, a small cult quickly forms around his figure and a village is soon built near the forest where he lived. His smartest followers (Judas and Maggy) were quickly able to see through his lies, but instead of shunning them and declaring them heretics, he offered them a place by his side. Still, the scam didn’t last long and soon the cult would have disbanded if the village wasn’t assaulted by acolytes on a mysterious crusade. Azazel is in for the fun part of the cult, mainly the feasts, parties and shroom based rituals. Still, under his facade of carelesness hides a deeply traumatized soul, and while the powers granted him by Narinder are cool, they were never worth the destruction of his village and the death of many of his former friends and followers. During the attack his ears were cut off and his horn broken, and while this didn’t completely make him deaf, he still struggles to hear sometimes due to the bandages and the costant bleeding of his ear canal. He cares about Perseus a great deal and while not very good at being a dad, still acts as a sort of mentor, teaching him all sorts of cool things, like magic and swear words. His weapon of choice are the Gauntlets, and he’s also able to perform fire attacks (like the enemies in the game).
Apollyon: he is the one who got it worse, due to his skull being split open and Narinder’s “gift” being essentially planted in his brain, he’s the one who’s most under the control of the One Who Waits. Once an elder god, his glory days now behind him he spent a couple of millenia wandering earth, before ending up in a certain village and the rest is history. He got ambushed during the attack while he was trying to protect his friends and while his godly constitution made him sturdier than the average man, not even he was immune to death, and in the end accepted Narinder’s deal. Once a caring and sweet individual, Apollyon has become distant, spending most of his time in a world of his own. His sentences always trail off and he seems incapable of following a coherent train of thought, and even on good days he’s far from the person his companions came to love. While mentally he’s much weaker than before, his physical strength is still unmatched, which makes him the only one capable of wielding the hammer in battle. During these times he shuts down completely, seemingly possessed by a vengeful spirit and even his allies need to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn’t mistakes them for foes. Is this also result of Narinder’s nasty influence, spreading through the crown he placed on Apollyon’s head? Nobody knows for sure, and while Apollyon seems to know more than he should, his mental state makes it quite difficult to differentiate between truth and delusions.
Aaaaand there you have it! I’m not gonna explain Perseus too since he’s basically his same old self, just maybe a bit less cocky and without his hate for monsters. I hope you like this! Feel free to ask about this, even if it’s not super developed.
Bye!
