π©Έ Happy Halloween 2023, everyone! π©Έ
This year, I'm appeasing the Halloween Spirit, unhallowed be thy name, by using dark, lesser-known folklore as inspiration. Please enjoy my attempts at giving my children new appreciation through some of vile loving.
This is Daemon's entry. Althea's is here.
Chindi (Navajo:Β chΚΌΔ―ΜΔ―dii) - The ghost of a deceased person in Navajo myth that is supposed to leave the body with the personβs last breath. The Navajo believe that oneβs final breath contains all of the sins of that personβs life. A mini-whirlwind of dust/dirt is said to represent a chindi. The Navajo call these βdust devilsβ and believe that a clockwise dust devil is a good spirit and the counter clockwise is an evil entity.
"He was hanged for his crimes, but his sins have found new life in a vile love."

i have two touhou style myth ideas!
bell witch
bumpass cove
they are from america in tennesee
EDIT: my drawing program deleted a whole layer so I had to reupload the drawing! Itβs at the bottom now sorry :(
Bell witch is a tale that many might recognize but not know by name, as itβs the main inspiration for the movie βThe Blair Witch Project.β The Bell witch is from early 1800s Tennessee, said to haunt the Bells, a farming family that lived next to red river. The witch responded favorably to the name of Kate, and primarily targeted the youngest child and the father. Her powers were listed as Shape shifting, invisibility, teleportation/super speed, create illusions and even inflict conditions like paralysis upon people. She was quite the gossip, very nosy and could recite things from across miles and miles seemingly instantly. Even though the witch seemingly hated the youngest child, constantly pinching, scratching and pulling her hair and saying her main goal was to Kill the father over timeβ she adored the Mother, even referring to her as βthe most perfect woman to walk the earthβ and had a pretty good relation with her. Of course, she eventually fulfilled killing the father and leaving the family for 7 years, returning to the youngest and her new family, but left soon after, disinterested.
Debate later speculates what the Witch actually was, if even a witch. Speculation includes a Native American spirit of vengeance (Like a Chindi), a hobgoblin, a biblical demon and even a genie. There was nothing clear, forever remains a mystery and a subject of fascination.

Hey Shree ! I am big fan of IPKKND and your blog. I love your every analysis. During Payash sangeet Khushi's friend did not come for the dance so did Arnav bribe her not to come ? Also their dance was so intimate was it real or a dream or something else?
Hey Anon!
Lol that's super chindi of Arnav to sabotage a sangeet performance.
Khushi's friend did not show up and honestly none of us know why. Shyam is more likely to have bribed but like... how do you bribe a friend to NOT dance?
Teri Meri is a confusion. If it is a dream, how does this moment exist -
Were they realistically dreaming? Lolz
But then if the above intimate dancing is reality, then why is there a sudden change of clothes?
Like why is Arnav back in his sherwani and Khushi back to her usual sangeet hairstyle?
I also know the promo was shot in this clothing and makeup. And it's possible that the makers found these shots toooooo pretty and wanted to add that from the promo to the main episode edit that has us all scratching heads. Lol.
And Arnav does appear in black suit for the dance and everyone did see Arnav in that suit.
Tbh, Mama ji being happy and pseudo blessing this jodi is amaze. HE IS THE TRUE SHIPPER.
And we must assume that everyone was SO shocked that Arnav even danced that they just didn't see the performance.
Except two people.
Also, maybe the Raizadas had become cool enough that they're sooooo ok with sexy dancing and they're gonna let the kids feel the feelz until they're ready to act on feelz.
Lol.
Love,
Shree

Was in an βI need to do something fun, novel, and mildly dangerous right NOW or I am going to self-destructβ kind of mood so I got a waffle cone locally then walked an hour or two to Target and Big Lots, bought some stuff I needed, and carried it back from 8:30β10:00. I saw the moon! It is very orange. Very beautiful. Very powerful.
I got a file folder for important documents and some Command strips and hooks from Target; and a denim chindi rug, an over-door organizer, and some pretty butterfly depression glasses, which I assume are for liquor from Big Lots.
I also helped some kids cross the street because they were unsure how crosswalks worked; and I gave a few dollars to a lady holding a sign who needed it to support her kids. Honestly I liked doing those things more than the actual shopping but I am quite pleased with my denim chindi rug. Itβs pretty.
#Adventures with Tarrie#I hate it when nothing interesting happens on the way to the store so this was a treat getting TWO interesting things.#And of course thereβs the whole walking home at night thing where itβs basically me marching through town at 3 mph#threateningly staring down cars and any crevice in which a person could possibly hide#When it comes to normal social situations I freeze up#but when it comes to potential danger Iβm like βWhere the FUCK are all the creeps#Come and GET ME. I dare you to lay ONE finger on me. I DARE you. See what happens. I will bite your entire fucking HAND off.β#Iβm not afraid of walking at night. It just fills me with bloodlust and makes me want someone to try me more than usual#I am such a feral animal. As soon as I step foot outside the mask drops and all social norms go out the window#I saw someoneβs little surveillance camera turn on with a green light on the way home so I stopped and waved at it#with my two giant bags of purchased items on each arm#I stopped and ceremoniously bowed to the moon in front of passing cars#I always haul ass on crosswalks#Constantly talking to myself and the animals and occasionally trilling at things#And I walk FAST over any kind of terrain

Read it and Scream! So many chills and thrills. So much to dwell on, when all the lights are out. Like the story of βHugginβ Molly,β who assuages her grief from losing a child by grabbing live children and screaming in their ears. Or the ghost of Woodburn Mansionβthe Delaware Governorβs residenceβwho have been known to drain wine decanters at night. Plus the terrifying Chindi of Dine legend, phantom hitchhikers, ghostly quizzes, haunted history, and more. Printed on responsibly sourced paper and 100% recyclable.
