Chainsaw Man Chapter 104 Thoughts
Tumblr media
There was so much discussion going around the community when this particular chapter of Chansaw Man came out, and certainly the amount of reasons was really telling due to the level of anticipation. Denji and Asa finally meeting face to face since Part 2 kicked off.
FIrst, we need to talk about Yoru in the very beginning because I knew she had a tendancy of getting annoyed, but to see her throw tantrums was honestly kind of adorable and really funny at the same time. The  way she was acting in the first page and a half made feel like a Tsundere which was interesting even when Asa told her “Hey I’m trying to sleep here” lmao,  but then the vibes started to shift immensely once Asa asked her a simple question.”Why do you hate Chainsaw Man so much, anyway?”
The explanation that Yoru gives to Asa is rather personal and yet it really says a lot about the world of Chainsaw Man. At one point in time,  Yoru fought against Chainsaw Man and not matter how much you killed him somehow he would find a way to come back.  In midst of their battle,  Yoru lost only to have her body be eaten by her adversary.  That left her body in a very weakening state compared to where she was at originally.
Chainsaw Man became the reason why there hadn’t been a single war since The World War, and over time the concept of War became a means of entertainment.  It was displayed through media such as movies,  video games, etc.  As the world forgot about the terror of War it left Yoru imuch more weaker over the years.  She believes that at some point people will forget about her and the only person to blame in her mind is Chainsaw Man.
Asa followed up with another question to  Yoru, “Are you afraid of being forgotten?”   only to be left with an awkward silence. It really bothered Asa because Yoru threw such a heavy tantrum just moments ago only to have fallen directly to sleep.  While starring off towards the ceiling, Asa began to wonder about where her life had been. For as long as she could remember dying never bothered her at all, but now she feel happy to still be alive. All thanks to Chainsaw Man saving their life that day.
The following day, we cut back over to Denji who really had me laughing because of his antics. A simple fact that he became a chair for one of his classmates to it on, and the whole time I was just thinking like “Come on Denji...lol!”  But hey,  he seemed to be enjoying it so whatever makes him feel good in life hehe. What disrupts his whole process is one of his classmates telling him that some pretty boy was looking for him, and surprise surprise it’s Yoshida. That really turns Denji’s mood off instantly where he tells Yoshida to stop stalking him.
Based on his observation,  Yoshida curiously asked why the girl was using Denji as prop, and Denji reveals that he made a commitment that if he’d get paid 10 yen if the girls sat on him for 10 minutes.  If he wasn’t back in 30 seconds then Denji would have to give a refund to the girl. However, Yoshida hands over the ID card hat Denji dropped during his fight against the cockroach devil to which we found out he did that on purpose to expose his identity. This really gets under Denji’s skin, but Yoshida is simply looking out for him because he wants Denji to live his life in peace. Simply avoid anything that could bring harm to his life even forcing to keep Denji down to do so.
Further annoyed by this, Denji makes a decision to walk away before Yoshida persuades to talk with him more even using Denji as a chair to do so.   At first,  he refuses to do until a 1000 yen appears and decides to go with it.  Even so, Denji continues to hope that someone will discover his identity as Chainsaw Man.  As calm and chill as Yoshida has been thus far, he ask, If Denji is doing all of this to get a girlfriend where he quickly answered positively about that without an ounce of hesitation. At that moment,  Yoshida offers to help Denji find a girlfriend and ask for his help. The stage becomes set once he tells Yoshida to look for a girl whose desperately looking for a boyfriend.
Finally, this last portion of the chapter brings us to the roof of the academy where Yoshida sets up the meeting... Sorry the long awaited meeting that everyone in the fandom was waiting for. The moment when Denji and Asa finally confronted one another face to face. It all began by Yoshida bringing up the question to Asa about Chainsaw Man which immediately catches Denji’s attention.  It was really nice seeing the awkwardness and tenseness from their simple introduction  from Asa’a point of view, and  especially Denji being very chill and calm about it initially.
What also really struck a cord between the conversation that Asa and Denji had together was this organic presence that was there. It’s something you feel could actually happen in the real world between a boy and a girl, but also I really love how meta it eventually got from Asa’s point view and the contrast to seeing Denji being super defensive about what Chainsaw Man is all about.
Okay let me preface by also that I feel Denji almost jumped the gun when he straight up admitted to Asa that he was Chainsaw Man. This certain element of Denji is one I think some saw coming, but at the same time I was like bro... you’re about to pain a target on your back. All you get between the two of them is one single glance before Asa walks off calling Denji a loser and walking away.  Yoshida even assures Denji that nobody is going to believe him even though he continues to boast about as Asa continues walking down the stairs bring a close to the chapter.
All in All, I give this chapter of Chainsaw Man a Pure Perfection rating. I really loved how Tatsuki Fujimoto structured the chapter and the panel layout where we one section was dedicated to each of the protagonist.  The first 3rd of the chapter being centered around the Asa Mitaka after Chainsaw Man rescued her, and the middle portion centered around Denji after his meeting with Yoshida.  The way Fujimoto writes each of their perspective before the two protagonists is honestly really well done, and I the real highlight for sure is the meeting and exchange between Denji and Asa Mitaka. That’s pretty much all i gotta say when it comes to my super lengthy thoughts on this chapter of Chainsaw Man and pretty soon I’ll drop my toughts for Chapter 105 as I catch myself up to the latest chapter that just came out recently. Until then, I hope you all take care of yourselves out there.

EVE's amazing music videos
Eve is a Japanese singer-songwriter and mangaka, who began her career as a utaite by publishing her first covers in 2009. Today Eve is quite a recognized artist, especially since the premiere of the anime adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen, this because he gives her voice At the first opening of the series, also since April 2020 he is in charge of the history of the manga kara no kioku, which has received very good reviews.
But in this post what I want to talk about is not Eve herself, but her music videos and the people behind them.
Many of the artists Eve works with are independent and very little known, so there is very little information about them apart from what can be obtained from their social networks, in some cases their names are unknown and there is only know their pseudonym, of this type we can highlight to Mah and Waboku. The first is one of those who has collaborated more times with Eve, being perhaps the most recognized video clip being that of the song “Dramaturgy”, which has more than 104 million views on YouTube. Mah’s animation style stands out for have a “simple” appearance but it is not at all, having thick and strong lines, with a “dirty” and quite dark coloring and with a character design that is usually terrifying.
Tumblr media
On the other hand, we have Waboku, who has far fewer collaborations with Eve but even so is in charge of animating one of the most popular video clips of this, which is “As You Like It”, this music video has more than 75 million views on YouTube. Waboku, unlike Mah, presents a much more fluid animation and full of movement, with a pastel color palette that moves away from the more abundant black and white in Mah’s animation, in addition to having a cleaner stroke and a character design a little “square”.
Tumblr media
Of those who have more information, I would like to highlight Sae Okamoto, she has several collaborations with Eve as well as participation in other projects, her most outstanding work with Eve is the video clip of the song “Ano ko secret”, where she shows us an animation much closer to the common one of the animes, being it is a little less experimental than that of the previous 2, even so it shows a great fluidity in its animation, it maintains a palette of pastel colors similar to that used by Waboku, but it moves away quite a bit of the grim character design that was featured earlier.
Tumblr media
We can also find Yoda Nobutaka, who has been in charge of the animation of the video clips of the Valentine’s Day specials, of which the songs “Kokoro Yohou” and “Heikousen” can be highlighted, collecting between them more than 54 million reproductions in Youtube. These have a higher production due to the fact that they are propaganda for a brand of chocolates in Japan, for which some animation studios were also hired, these being “Enishiya” for the video clip of Kokoro Yohou and the studios “10 Gauge” And “Studio Durian” for Heikousen. As I mentioned before, these music videos have a much more elaborate aesthetic, which is much more like an anime, being very colorful and detailed.
Tumblr media
Then we have Marie Yasui or also known as Mariyasu, who has collaborated on a single occasion with Eve and gave us one of what for me is one of the best music videos she has, she, in addition to this video clip, has been in charge of directing a ONA of a chapter called "Shu” and also publishes since 2017 his own manga which is “Shoujo Jiten” which has received good reviews. Mariyasu shows us an incredible animation in the video clip of “How to eat life”, which brings us back the gloomy and terrifying character design that both Mah and Waboku presented and combines it with a fluid animation and  small details similar to those of Okamoto and Nobutaka, resulting in an audio visual work that has nothing to envy to any opening of the anime of the moment.
Tumblr media
Finally, I wanted to mention Ryuu Nakayama, who has the most extensive curriculum of those who I have mentioned in this post, having jobs in works such as: Kill la Kill, Hunter x Hunter Movie 2: The last mission, One Punch Man and more currently He will be the director of the anime adaptation of the Chainsaw Man manga. Nakayama, like Mariyasu, has collaborated on one occasion with Eve for the video clip for “Raison d'être”, which, as in “How to eat life” shows us a display amazing animation, which at times reminds me a lot of Kill la Kill, but this unlike Mariyasu animation has the participation of the animation studio “Eniyisha”, which manages to give a more professional touch to the final result.
Tumblr media
Finally, I did not want to leave without mentioning the collaborations that Eve has had with some renowned animation studios such as “Bones” and “Wit Studios”, with which she has collaborated to make the videos for the songs “Aono Waltz” and “Kimi ni Sekai” respectively.
Eve’s music videos are a whole world, which, together with the music (something I do not talk about in this post), result in quite complex worlds with unique stories, which ends in wonderful audiovisual works worth seeing again and again.

List of Kuro Ladies that Hate (or Would Hate) Undertaker
Francis — Undertaker has never heard of a comb or scissors or the word "kempt"; the leader of this little group
Nina — Wearing stuffy old clothes??? That are too big??? No silhouette??? Someone's itching for a restyling
Ada — She likes cleanliness, a word that cannot be found in the dictionary of "Mr I Don't Wash My Hair"; her team is ready to power-rinse him
Grelle — Some people are itching for scissors and sketching paper, but some other people are certainly itching for a chainsaw and a good old rematch...
Ran-Mao — She wanted O!Ciel to eat (properly) in that one chapter, and I don't think we've ever seen Undertaker eating anything else but those weird bone biscuits (not that she would care much, but I'll still put her here because why not?)
Paula — Maybe she's a little too nice to actually "hate" anyone, but Undertaker's actions did lead to Lizzie getting hurt, so putting her here too
