Oh, my sweet lord I am FREAKING OUT! My beloved @nildespirandum​ is on fire and popping out a fresh new Halloween treat via Incubus Loki and Witch Nora. 

This first chapter is... there’s some scary-ass moments in a place I’m almost hoping she doesn’t explore any further, humor between our favorite Incubus and Witch, and some super intense “what the fuck just happened here” shifts off the reality axis. If you’ve never read my beloved Nil’s Incubus Loki, this is a perfect place to jump in.

Incubus Loki and his witchy wife have a very naughty anniversary

Ignoring the order given to her to stay still, Nora pushed her sopping hair away from her eyes, wiped the back of her hand on her wet lower lip, and looked up.

“You are a very contrary creature, witch.”  

The voice was as clean and smooth as the facet of a diamond, save a little purr at the end.  As if it was pleased that she has been disobedient.  Or, rather, as there would be pleasures to be found because she had disobeyed.

The dim light from candle sconces high on the walls that had been carved too straight and too true out of black stone did Nora’s merely human eyesight the favor of leaving most of the demonic creatures that writhed in perfect silence around the massive space to her imagination

Or perhaps not.  Her imagination had always been a bit too wild for the good of her sanity, particularly at the moment.  That she could see the suggestions of motion, could smell the musky, smoky, meaty funk coming from them, feel the rising temperature from body heat and bodies in heat of the bodies, made her mind fill in all sorts of terrible details that may or may not have been worse than the reality that was only barely visible to her in the reddish air.

Worse, she hoped silently, I really hope what I am thinking is way worse.

The only properly illuminated spot was where the Master of the Revels sat, where she kneeled before him.

I’ve been absent for the last couple of weeks, getting The Birdcage, It’ll Be Good For You and Feed, or Fuck? ready to publish. But I’m needing that spooky vibe and I know you must be, too.

There’s something about Halloween and Curtis Everett from Snowpiercer that are entwined forever in my consciousness. I think it’s because the only two stories i’ve ever written about Curtis were for the beautiful @jtargaryen18′s Halloween challenges - this is a woman who loves Halloween as much as I do.

However! I read @sweater-daddiesdumbdork​’s Curtis Everett story for the challenge and fell in love with how she writes him.  Wilfords Demands and other Darkish!Curtis fics is a dark and intense vision of Curtis surviving that fucking Wilford’s evil reign by becoming a gladiator and impregnator for the evil conductor. Get a cup of tea and a warm blanket, these stories will chill you, and then totally turn you on.

This shit sent a chill up my backside. I closed all my curtains and scooched up close to my poor husband, who was just trying to get some sleep. Danse Macabre is sexy, scary as shit and with a weird, chilly twist that sticks with you long after you’ve read it. You know you’re going to love it.

One of the gifts of being able to beta read for @nildespirandum​ is that I know when one of her stories is going to rip my heart right out of my chest- and still reading it and weeping uncontrollably anyway. One such story is Perfection, with a beautiful - and beautifully tormented - Sir Thomas Sharpe who supports Allerdale Hall and his vile mine with his earnings as a male prostitute.  Alice does not care. She is a painter, and artist, and she sees him as the glorious, god-like creature in her next painting. The description of Alice’s physical challenges and her courage hit you like a fist to the heart. Thomas, when he allows himself to love, is one of the most beautiful of people. Lucille? A thousand times more terrifying than in the film. In the end, all you can remember is the portrait Alice paints of Thomas naked and a love that extends beyond this life.

One of the darkest and most atmospheric pitch-black Loki stories I’ve ever come across was from the wildly talented @maiden-of-asgard​ - her Vampire!Loki was a terribly tormented creature locked in a castle on Midgard because his brother Thor couldn’t bear to kill him. So who better to keep Vampire!Loki company than a “treasonous” Light Elf? 

In Monstrous, the claustrophobic confines of the castle and the half-deranged remains of Loki are terrifying enough. But what if he chooses to show the least amount of kindness to his tormented captive?

I wanted to save Minnie Rose for last because this is a writer who doesn’t get the attention she deserves. She’s @wegingerangelica​ here, but she doesn’t post on Tumblr, though I wish she would. But she has a spectacular Dark Loki that brazenly explores just how terrible Loki could be after escaping the clutches of Thanos. In the story Pain, he happens upon a young woman who becomes his captive and an excellent partner to explore his pain and fury. Sexually, but you probably figured that out by yourself. He’s dark and cruel and terrifying, the sex is red-hot and there is character development sneakily mixed in with the smut. What more can you ask for a chilling Loki SexFest? 

So... this is Day 31 of my Halloween reading recommendations. I hope you’ve found some new writers to adore, and I hope you’ll explore the masterlist and give these wonderfully talented people some love.

But The Cult is super spooky because Cult Leader Steve is a little too good at his job, and his best friend Bucky is a little too trusting, especially with his new bride. Because if you’re going Dark, Loki is already there at the bottom of the mine shaft, chuckling and waiting for you to take the fall into his abyss.
