Sirius waves their thanks and rushes out, making it home as fast as they can without blatantly breaking the speed limit. While they want to go straight to Remus’, they realize it’s unlikely that Remus has any food - because he somehow never has any food except for chocolate - and somehow Sirius doubts that Remus has remembered to eat today.

Praising his past self for freezing three different kinds of leftovers, Sirius shoves the containers in a bag and runs around trying to think of anything else Remus might need. 

Ginger tea for inflammation? More chocolate, definitely.  Massage oil with CBD? Jesus Christ, what is he doing? 

Sirius tries to, you know, stop panicking, and throws some overnight essentials and extra clothes into a bag - because while they really really don’t like spending the night places, they are not going to leave Remus, come hell or high water.

The cab ride there seems to take an age, and it takes all of Sirius’ self control not to snap at the driver. By the time they get to Remus’ flat, they’re practically vibrating with anxiety. Sirius uses the spare key he knows is tucked in this weird fake plant and lets himself inside, trying to make as little noise as possible.

They set the bags on the ground gently and slip off their shoes, tiptoeing into Remus’ room. Remus has his lamp on the low setting, providing a little light, but otherwise the room is entirely dark, and Remus is curled up in a ball on the bed, as best Sirius can see under the pile of blankets.
