Hello! This is my introduction post :)
Tumblr media
My name is Seph and I’m a huge fan of Cats the musical. I try to know everything there is to know about it.
(Old username: Skimble-thimble)
As stated in my bio, I’m a huge fan of the City Springs Theatre production of Cats. Seeing as it was my official introduction to the musical. But I have some other favorites. Such as:
The Original Broadway Production
The 1998 movie
The 2005/2006 Moscow Production
And more I probably forgot!
My favorite actors are Michael Gruber and Jacob Brent. But there are more I won’t list here (mostly because the list is long) they’re just the notable ones.
As for ships, there aren’t many I enjoy. Not a big fan of shipping the characters (doesn’t mean I won’t indulge in the ship are though. Y’all are good at making it.)
And lastly, as for DNI, I don’t have one. I block freely :) just don’t be a dick ig 🤷
Anyway that’s it. Bye bye!

Six the Musical?
Okay, I haven’t listened to the musical in a bit, but what are some of your favourite headcanons for Katherine Howard(Fifth one, I believe)?
YESSS OMGS SHES THE BEST SHES MY FAVOURITEEEEE HEJSKDKAKDI. AAAH
okay so she goes by kitty and kat with friends and katherine with most other people, nickname privileges are just about the highest honor she can give someone. Anna and Anne call her Kitkat a lot as well.
Shes bisexual with a preference towards girls and the idea of sex repluses her but she's not sure if thats due to asexuality or non worked through trauma
she dresses very preppy with some y2k elements, has a worn pair of pink converse she adores, constantly dyes her hair bubblegum pink and usually wears it in a ponytail or two braids. she hates her hips with a passion and cant wear leggings without a skirt over it because she'll feel nauseous and will get panicked and cry. she also can only have her boobs visible if shes wearing something that accents them. she has a pair of heart earings she wears 50% lf the time and always has a choker on to hide her scar.
she loves doing makeup and coloured eyeliner and sparkles. she often draws hearts on herself and really on anything she can. she always uses waterproof mascara just in case.
she gets phantom pain in her neck along her scar a lot especially when death is mentioned. it gets so bad shes curled up cryimg bc of the pain sometimes.
she loves sweet coffees and hot chocolate and milk chocolate and gets a caramel latte every morning from a small coffee shop. she's constantly caffinated to avoid feeling her massive sleep debt. She usually eats a large dinner and a million snacks throughout the day.
she is a gremlin with playiny games, she is the best mario kart and monopoly player amongst the wueens by far usually because they feel some level of remorse when destroying people. she doesnt. insulting people is her love language and she loves using childish insults like poopface or stupidbutt along with well timed swears.
she loves pop music especially sabrina carpenter, olivia rodrigo, maisie peters, and taylor swift. shes also the largest mysical fan youll ever meet and dreams about being a musical actress but shes terrified she isnt good enough snd never will be no matter how hard she tries. Songs like the band and i and long live make her sob because she wants that so bad it hurts. she dreams of living in nyc or london and thrives in big cities
she can and will bite people for fun
her favourite game is stardew valley especially the early game so she has about a million saves that have made it to spring year 2 and tapered off. she enjoys watching cozy stardew (and similar games like fields of mistria) and minecraft on yt.
her backpack is white with pink hearts on it snd she always carries way too many spare peirod products.
shes always craving cuddles or touch is painful no in between
shes autistic with a special interest in theatre. she also has a lot of vocal stims and masks heavily. shes considering the fact that she may have adhd and also has rsd.
she loves reading fluff fanfic and cries at happy endings and on her birthday. she holds grugdes and is ashamed at herself for doing so. she projects a very confident persona but belives that she's unlovable and that (most) people only love her for her body. she hides her interests from most people because she thinks they dont care about them and theyll move on from her if she does.
her favourite animals are butterflies and hedgehogs and her favourite flower is dandelions.
she sleeps woth three pullows and two blankets and has a pink weighted blanket she uses whemever she's overstimulated
she has a canopy bed with string lights around the top and her floor is covered in a soft pink rug thats always covered in cat hair and she has light pink wallpaper with butterflies on iy and a plushie pile at the foot of her bed
theres more but im tired lol

The kittens of the City Springs 2023 production
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(X X)
So, this production had four characters billed only as 'ensemble', played by musical theatre students. They were only in some numbers (notably the opening and the ball), though for a lot of therest of Act I they hung out around the edges to watch and interact in the best tradition of swing cats, and they went home at interval. (Munkustrap presumably found a babysitter for the kittens.) They also played with the audience in the auditorium before the show. Here they are!
(Note: all four are over 18. All images here are posted publically on their instas, or are part of official promomaterial from the theatre company.)
Elizabeth Windley, whose older sister played Sillabub, played a kitten who looks like a smaller version of Etcetera in the same production—though her muzzle and collar are reminiscent of a Jemima. She seems to refer to her kitten as 'Minnie'!
Here she is with Etcetera (Ryley Perry) and Sillabub (Olivia Windley) (X).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jayla Lopez plays a kitten who's black and white in a similar pattern to Cassandra's markings. (Her wig is essentially the same as Misto's ensemble wig. Casslonzo daughter? Cassoffelees? Alonzoffelees? Headcanons are free!)
Between Tantomile (Grace Arnold) and Victoria (Caitlin Bond) (X); and with Cassandra (Erin Rawlings) (X):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zach Feeney's kitten has some resemblance to Mungojerrie, with the sharp blacks and oranges in the wig, and some to Electra with the floofy red fur on a dark-coloured unitard. Here behind Tugger (Spencer Dean) (X):
Tumblr media
And Trevor Groce blessed us with many impish in-costume selfies of his little kitty! I'm honestly getting Tumblebrutus vibes so, since Tumble didn't exist in this production (Plato was a tumbler, though, so we got a very flippy Macavity), Trevor's kitten can be Tumblebrutus in my heart (X X).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kittens in the pyramid: Elizabeth and Trevor, next to Jellylorum (Meredith Crain) (X)!
Tumblr media
And bonus: here they all are with Jacob Brent (X)!

ASK EDDIE - August 24 2023
FNF prez Eddie Muller responds to film noir fan questions fielded by the Foundation's Director of Communications Anne Hockens. In this episode, we discuss the recent changes at TCM, Eddie’s memories of Robert Osborne, the new Philip Marlowe book, The Second Murder, Poker Face and its inspiration Columbo, female investigators in film noir, and more. We wind up the show with a new game, “Femme Fatale or Not?”. On the cat front, Charlotte is a diva and Emily won’t come out of her trailer.
Want your question answered in a future episode? We solicit questions from our email subscribers in our monthly newsletters. Sign up for free at https://www.filmnoirfoundation.org/signup.html
Everyone who signs up on our email list and contributes $20 or more to the Film Noir Foundation receives the digital version of NOIR CITY Magazine for a year. Donate here: https://www.filmnoirfoundation.org/contribute.html
This weekend’s questions:
1.       I am wondering if there's a way to find out which movies screened at the first NOIR CITY. I'm also wondering when you first started distributing those spectacular programs.
Jeannin
 2.       Would you address the recent cutbacks and layoffs at TCM that are affecting NOIR ALLEY.
Andrew
 3.       I would love to know about your relationship with Robert Osborne.
Stacy
 4.       The estate of Raymond Chandler hired Scottish crime fiction writer Denise Mina to pen a new Philip Phillip Philip Marlowe novel, THE SECOND MURDERER was released in August. Have you read it and if so, what did you think? What do you think in general of the practice of having contemporary authors pen reboots based on other writers' classic detective characters? Are there any examples of this that you think are particularly well-done--OR that you think egregiously miss the mark?
Kathleen
 5.       Have either of you seen the new TV series POKER FACE? It’s not a whodunit.  It’s a howcatchem.  It’s been said it’s a homage to the old COLUMBO series.  Were you two fans of COLUMBO. Was Peter Falk ever in a noir movie?
Alan, San Anselmo, CA
 6.       Would love to see THE ENFORCER, 1952, starring Bogart presented on NOIR ALLEY sometime soon. I wonder about the film’s backstory. What parts of the film really portrayed the "Murder Inc.", if any?
Victor
 7.       Since becoming interested in film noir, I have seen several films with Richard Basehart. Did he ever talk about his career in noir films? I saw Basehart live on stage in the late 1970’s playing Macbeth at a theatre near Philadelphia. Did any other “noir” actors perform Shakespeare on stage?
Ed, Washington, D.C.
 8.       What do you think of Roger Corman's 1962 film THE INTRUDER? And do you consider it to be noir? Doug, Silver Spring, MD
 9.        I was curious to hear Eddie's opinion on directors William Dieterle, Delmer Daves, Anthony Mann, Robert Wise, Jean Negulesco and which of their film noirs are worth watching.
Jeff from Montreal
 10.   I was intrigued by the plot of Joseph Pevney’s UNDERCOVER GIRL (1950) because it centers on a policewoman working. I couldn’t find UNDERCOVER GIRL anywhere- to stream or buy.
My question is two-fold. How rare is this type of character in film noir? And why can I not find this film (and other films like this)?
Kellee, Kansas
 11.   Was The movie PUBLIC ENEMY recut? I ask because Jean Harlow's role is so short and feels like it was recut. I know that the Hayes code had just come into effect so that adds to my suspicion.
David
 12.   Anne and Eddie: How many emails do you each get each day connected with movies? Is it overwhelming?
Alan
 13.   Does Eddie or Anne have a favorite or memorable tagline associated with a noir film? Also, is it Tizzie with an "ie" or Tizzy with a "y"?  Inquiring minds need to know.
Timothy, Schenectady NY
 14.   I’d like to propose a new game: ‘Femme Fatale or Not?’ And start off with one tough (or maybe off the wall) example:
PITFALL (1948) (dir. André De Toth) - Mona Stevens (Lizabeth Scott) is not a femme fatale in this film but Sue Forbes (Jane Wyatt) is. I’ll stop here and see what you and Anne think (about the concept and my interpretation of Wyatt’s character.
Dave in Pie Creek, Queensland

Planning a dark academia vibe world
Let's add another project to my plate that I will never finish!
Okay no lets be serious. I never intend to start something and not finish it. But knowin me the possibility is there.
So I want to make a dark academia vibe world. With supernaturals. But it should not be so dark that it looks bad in summer. Or spring. Like a Mystic Falls but more cramped together. Not so widely spread out like Moonlight Falls. And with every lot from the expansion packs. But maybe without university. Maybe I do both versions. But for sure without world adventures. At least without the Shang Simla stuff. And without into the future. That would only look hella weird xD
So what lot do I need? Let's make a list.
Rabbitholes: - City hall(with police and military?) - business(and restaurant?) - diner - bookstore - spa - school - stadium - criminal hideout - arboretum - equestrian center - film studio - gypsy wagon - hospital - science lab - mausoleum - resorts - theatre - vault of antiquity - big show venue - cofeehouse
Community Lots: - Big Park(Festival) - art gallery - beaches - cat jungle? - consignment store - dance club - disco club - dive bar - diving areas - dog park? - elixir consignment store - exclusive lounge - fire station - fishing spots - fusion lounge - graveyard - horse ranch - junkyard - library - live show venue - pool - ports? - private venue - salon - sports bar - supernatural hangouts - vampire lounge - small park?
and then of course residential lots and apartments. Soo I don't really play with the cat and dog lots since the seem pretty unnecassary to me. Do you use them? Would you like them in a custom world? And also small parks...do you use them? Ports or more accurately houseboats are know to create lag in the game. Should I just abandon them or make a few ports?
Tumblr media
I tried a few grass textures for the world, but I think the darker one is too dark xD What do you think? This is not the world that I will be working on its just a test world to see which terrains I want to use :)
If you want to help me, I would appreciate it a lot :)

‘Paris’ track 16 3AM “Let the only flashing lights be the tower at midnight in my mind”
** The 621 area code is an overlay for area code 346 so it will serve the same area (Houston, TX)

First time she mentioned midnight was “22” track 6 on the 4th album, Red “it feels like a perfect time for breakfast at midnight” -> exactly what her and her ghosts do in the Anti-hero music video
“We play dumb but we know exactly what we're doin'”

“You Are In Love” track 15 “Small talk, he drives, coffee at midnight” ->like in the Karma music video?
*Area code 315 serves the central part of New York State. It covers a large area including cities such as Syracuse, Utica, and Watertown
On Reputation 6th album
“New Year’s Day” track 15 ‘I want your midnights, but I’ll be cleaning up bottles with you on New Year’s Day”
***but since tracks 12 and 15 were mentioned in this from reputation that makes me think of 12/15 (10 days before Christmas)-dates below
And on Folklore 8th album
The Last Great American Dynasty track 3 “They say she was seen on occasion pacing the rocks, staring out at the midnight sea”
5 albums have midnight as a time reference

Wrapped in guilt, sealed up tight”

BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF 'EI RETIRO' PARK
Covering over 125 hectares and comprising more than 15,000 trees, El Retiro Park–recently named a UNESCO World Heritage Site–is a green oasis in the heart of the city. In it you’ll find all kinds of interesting monuments and gardens, including Jardín de Vivaces, Jardines de Cecilio Rodríguez (Andalusian-inspired classicistic gardens), Jardines del Arquitecto Herrero Palacios, the recently-restored Cat Mountain, the Rosaleda rose garden and Parterre Francés, which holds a Mexican conifer that is nearly 400 years old and is believed to be Madrid’s oldest tree.
In addition to its role as one of the city’s green lungs, it is also a popular spot among Madrileños who like to go there for a stroll, to do some sport, visit an exhibition or take the kids to a puppet show. The park is home to a large artificial lake, where you can rent a rowing boat, and to the Velázquez Palace and Glass Palace which are both currently used as exhibition halls by the Reina Sofía Museum. The latter is a beautiful glass pavilion built in 1887 to house exotic plants for an exhibition on the Philippines. It is one the finest examples of cast-iron architecture in Spain.
El Retiro is also filled with interesting sculptures and fountains such as the magnificent Monument to Alfonso XII, which watches over the lake and in spring of 2018 opened to the public an observation deck offering wonderful vistas. Near the Rose Garden, you’ll encounter the statue of the Fallen Angel, the only sculpture in the world dedicated to the devil which curiously enough sits 666m above sea level. Other spots worth visiting are the Galápagos Fountain, built in honour of the then princess Isabella II, the Teatro de Títeres, the only theatre in Europe that stages puppet shows every weekend, and the large area known as Reservado de Fernando VII which King Ferdinand VII decided to keep for himself and his family when the rest of the park was opened to the public. In this section of El Retiro, between Calle O’Donnell and Calle Menéndez Pelayo, you’ll find some of the king's "whims", small buildings or monuments designed as little retreats for the monarchs to rest and relax: Casa del Pescador, the recently reopend Cat Mountain (it had been closed to the public for twenty years) and Casa del Contrabandista, which now houses Florida Park, a former nightclub which has been turned into a multi-purpose space serving top-notch food and hosting shows and other events.
