Okay I might have a secondary type for my OTP (the primary type being " enemies to lovers", emphasis on the "enemies") :
Very short hero and very tall/big/buff villain.
Villain picking up protectively the hero like a little pet
Villain holding the hero by the scruff of their neck/collar
Hero jumping or climbing the villain for a kiss
Villain holding down easily the hero
Hero sitting on the villain's shoulder with no one daring to comment on the situation
Hero gently taking the villain's hand and villain being struck with their size difference and how fragile yet powerful the hero is
Hero being fed up with the villain's antics and pulling them down by their collar/cape to give a piece of their mind and/or a kiss
Villain comparing the hero to quick, tiny animals with the intent of making them look weak and annoying but instead sounding like they find the hero cute and endearing
Villain appearing in backlight as they tower over the hero down on the ground
Villain clenching the hero's chin with the underlying threat of being strong enough to break it yet being gentle enough to keep them safe
Hero stealing the villain's clothes and drowning into their scent them
Hero struggling and cursing as they pull the unconscious villain away from danger, barely managing due to the weight of the other
Another villain making a joke about the hero being the villain's pet
Spooning!

Are Asterix and Caesar just joking innocently, snarking at each other, waxing poetry about the intricacies of their relationship, or full French-kissing off screen? Either could prompt this reaction.
.
Initially drawn in answer to this thread by @scribeprotra . Because it was a beautiful, poetic description perfectly summarising what I love about the ship Asterix/Caesar...and the only thing missing was Getafix Knowing and Obelix being slightly confused but ultimately a very supportive best friend.
#Asterix#Obelix#getafix#Césastérix#Asterix/Caesar#Istadraws#pen drawing#traditional art#if you noticed Getafix suddenly growing taller in the second panel no you didn't#he was just getting ready to react if Obelix took his comment badly#but of course he doesn't#because Obelix doesn't get many things but he Gets that Asterix and Caesar are a bit Weird#Wednesday posting

a short prompt for asterix/césar: asterix being hurt by some legionaries (maybe because he ran out of potion and obelix is off fighting in the other direction) and césar being the one actually ordering them to stop hurting him / take him prisonder instead and to bring asterix to him.
Among his many other qualities, Caesar was able to acknowledge and even appreciate the bravery of his enemies.
Even more when this bravery was unexpected. He had always judged the indomitable Gauls as arrogant fools, unworthy of their freedom as it only depended of their precious magic potion.
When the little warrior of the village was spotted near his troops, and was confirmed to be deprived of his magic potion (the lucky result of a well-placed arrow piercing his gourd), Caesar had been certain it would be hilariously easy. He had expected a quick victory, or for their enemy to pathetically beg for his life.
Instead, the short Gaul fought with the ferocity of a lion, fast and deadly, taking advantage of his size to slip between legionaries and strike low blows, unrelenting in his attacks despite the obvious outcome of the battle.
As he watched the fight, Caesar found himself...impressed.
The more he observed, the more he realized: the Gaul would sooner die than surrender.
It should have pleased him. He knew this man in particular had caused more trouble than any other in his village, and his disappearance would deal a fatal blow to the indomitable Gauls' morale.
His legionaries were already tasting victory, blood thirst in their eyes as they were taking the opportunity to finally get revenge for years of defeat and humiliation. The Gaul could see his defeat coming, Caesar could see it in his eyes, and yet he kept fighting, refusing to let fear get the better of him. He even had the audacity to look at Caesar between two blows, defiant until the end, and even to smile.
Caesar should rejoice at the defeat of his enemy.
But would it be a defeat ? Or a last victory over Caesar?
Caesar didn't want the Gaul's death, but his submission. They both knew it. And the Gaul refused to give it.
A legionary managed to land a severe blow on the Gaul's shoulder, forcing him to drop his shortsword; another rammed into him with his shield and sent him sprawling on the ground, clutching his wound. Spears were raised for the final blow in the middle of vicious cheers calling for blood.
"Enough."
Caesar's voice cut like a sharp sword through the shouts, halting everyone's movements. Slowly, the imperator made his way through the crowd, towering from his horse over his fallen enemy.
Yet again this defiance in the eyes glaring back at him.
Fine. So be it.
"Death would be too kind a mercy for you, Gaul. I'd much prefer to see you live to see your village's downfall."
And yet again this mocking smirk, as if the Gaul wasn't bleeding on the ground at his enemy's mercy.
"Just ...admit you can't ...get enough of me, old Julius."
His cheeks suddenly flushing, Caesar gritted his teeth, seriously tempted to change his mind and impale the Gaul right here.
"Take him away," he barked instead, turning his horse around, "and make sure he doesn't die before regretting his words!"
He would get this man to submit even if it was the last thing he ever did.

Bonne lecture !

Oh there's definitely going to be funny business in Caesar's office when Asterix comes to "have a talk" B3
au where the gaul village is just a pop.30 town in the appalachians and caesar is the rich land developer from out of nashville wanting to buy their land
#and by funny business I mean he's going to pin him to his fancy desk and screw him silly#Asterix#Césastérix

Caesar and Astérix be like: I need to stop you, I want you to submit to me, I will always resist you, you're my enemy but I'll reward you everytime you help me, I won't ever harm you, you’re a torn in my side but life without you would be unbearable, I know not to underestimate you but I love to test your limits, you’re different from any other Gaul/Roman I know, I can’t stand you yet you’re my greatest challenge, I will protect you from harm, I can’t imagine a world without you

#should really come up with a ship tag for Ceaser/Asterix
A couple of friends and I use Césastérix, or if you prefer Caesasterix ^^
The idea that Caesar is the one who has a crush on Asterix and is so cringe and nervous about it that he just declares war on the village is funny to me. An arrow with a note on it is shot over the blockade and lands in Asterix' front door and the note reads "do u like me"

I've pretty much read any Caesar/Astérix fic I could find on the web, because I'm starved for content about these two. Here's a list of my favourite tropes regarding this pairing:
Panoramix (Getafix) always knows what's up. Always.
Obélix is happily oblivious. If he knows what's going on between Astérix and Caesar, he doesn't understand everything but supports his bro nonetheless
Astérix may likes a bit too much Caesar's legs
Caesar and Astérix sassing each other is a way to flirt with each other, really
"Dammit, I'm not supposed to find this/him attractive!"
The Gauls/Roman legions are not paid enough for this
Caesar is surrounded by idiots
Caesar is a seductive bastard but we love him anyway
We love a confident warrior getting flustered by an act of love/seduction
Both aren't sure if they want to kiss or shut the other up

The life of Caesar would have been a lot simpler, had he never encountered this insufferable little Gaul.
