Human lab is what I was thinking. Though they probably are using a lot of technology they've come across including yautja and engineer. I like to think the lab was originally on a ship, but eventually landed to a main compound of sorts as Specimen 6 (Bruce) started getting larger.

I feel like he struggles and at first his default looks almost identical to a chestburster, albeit smaller and with longer arm nubs. But like, becomes more human-esque every time he molts, since not only was his host a human but the genetics that were messed with were all humanoid too. It definitely takes practice in shifting, which I feel like he doesn't really get until he's escaped successfully, since the people keep him so restrained when not testing. Especially with how close he's come to escaping before that at this point he's just probably constantly restrained somehow, even if it's like a chain that lets him wander around the room. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

   He swiped his tail across the multitude of buttons, feeling a twinge of satisfaction as it was ruined. Now the babies couldn’t be put back, at least in there, and he waited impatiently as the fluid drained away to somewhere else, he didn’t care. 

   All he cared about was the ten tiny forms now snug in his arms as he crawled beneath one of the boards, tugging at a coat that had been left. It wasn’t a proper nest or hive, but it soothed a part of him that hissed at the bright open area. 

   He purred quietly, the sound foreign in his throat but feeling right as he carefully nuzzled the waking younglings. They needed to have his scent- they were his, part of his hive now, his babies- even if there was a sense of confusionDisgruntlementConfusion from their still sleepy minds. 

   It didn’t matter if they appeared more human already, he could smell that they were one of his own kind. Itty bitty ones who needed to be guarded and protected. He purred a little louder, tucking the squirming babies against himself carefully to help keep them warm. 

   Warmth was good and safe, as long as things weren’t bright and heat as well. He shook those thoughts away, focusing on the little minds waking up. There was a jolt of panicFearConfusion, but he did his best to sooth it, hissing gently in between quiet purrs. Safe, he’d make sure they were safe. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey, if he has a smaller body then he's going to use it to his advantage. Though oh with the martian DNA he's probably like, twice as terrified as fire as a normal xenomorph. The entire hive there probably is if they've all been genetically messed with.

Pfft, that is exactly his expression. He knows they're not baby babies, but he's only recently finished evolving into a queen and is suddenly swamped with instincts. Not helped by the fact the kids have been in tubes this entire time so they straight up smell like newborn xenos. Newborn xenos who haven't been claimed by a hive yet so they're his babies now. And heaven (and whatever else) help anyone who tries to take them away from him.

Okay I have started randomly thinking about the Aliens Vs Predator game (the 2010 one). Specifically the xenomorph campaign, along with xeno-batfam. Y'know, just slowly rotating it.

Just thinking of a what if scenario slash crossover y'know. I mean the vibes are there with xenomorph experiments and all that y'know. Just pondering on if Bruce never ended up on Earth per se
