1) uh, I’m a beautiful person on the inside and the outside (mostly inside)

2) My baking skillz are awesome, and the food I cook is delicious :)

3) I’m a strong and adventurous person, despite the fact that I choose to do things that are hard or statistically doomed to failure

4) If a friend is in trouble, I do what I can to help (usually it’s cookies, sometimes it’s talking them through rough spots)

5) Just because my brain is wired differently doesn’t negate what I do with myself. I can be as rad as I want with a short haircut and a nosering and that doesn’t make me any better or worse than anyone else. I was rad before and I’m still rad now :)

Any advice for introducing my new girlfriend to my husband for the first time?

Varies from person to person and their temperaments so, so much I think.

I personally think one of the best ways is just to invite the new person to more of a group hangout - like if a dozen of your friends are going to a show or karaoke night or bowling or whatever, bring the new person along. Just like one would for a new partner in a monogamous relationship doing the low key “meet my friends by way of coming to a low pressure group activity” thing, except one of the people they end up meeting is also your spouse.

For folks who do much better in small situations, I might recommend just a “casual” contact first - like, if you’re hanging out with one then the other, have some overlap time, or just be like “Hey, when you come by to pick me up for our date do you want to come inside and meet my husband?”

But, really, most of this is less poly-specific advice, and more just general “How to introduce two people when one or both of them might be nervous” advice. Just don’t make a big deal of it I really think is key. :)

I also remain unsure why anyone thinks I’m a good person to come to for advice, but I’ll gladly give it to you anyway. ;)
