Tools necessary for a tow truck
No matter how much you pay for your trailer and no matter how careful you are with your equipment, it needs to be checked regularly. If you only use your trailer for snowmobiling, a little care now will get it ready, so you'll be ready to hit the road when the first snowstorm of next winter arrives. So, for all of us procrastinators eager for the next riding season, here are some tips and tricks we've gleaned from first-hand experience and some online research. Trailer maintenance Trailer hubs and lights get more abuse than we know what to do with - until, of course, your trailer breaks down on the side of the road on your way home on Sunday night. If you think your truck is dirty from road salt and grime, what about your snowmobile trailer? Road chemicals can stain your trailer's wheels, corrode wheel studs and erode exposed trailer bobbins. Now is a good time to fully inspect the main components of your trailer. Trailer lighting Check the trailer lighting. Over the years it doesn't seem to make any difference how much we pay or the type of trailer we own, but trailer wiring always seems to be a weak link. We have gone from cheap trailers with bare wiring to trailers with enclosed, protected wiring. Ultimately trailer lighting is often an issue. Connect to your trailer and have family or friends watch when you turn on your emergency flashers, traffic lights and turn signals. If your bulbs go out, replace them immediately, not when the weather is -30 degrees and the wind is howling. Look for possible problems, such as shrinkage of the tail light assembly. Check to ensure that the wiring connections are secure. You might even consider spraying a little WD40 or electrical lubricant on the screws around the light assembly. Check for worn or rusted connectors, especially around the side marker lights. You should ensure that the main connection between the trailer and the towing vehicle is in good condition. If you need to replace the plugs, consider doing so immediately. Most trailers have running lights and earth wires on both sides. Your plugs essentially combine these two similar wires to form a standard yellow, green, brown and white four-wire connection. Typically, the factory delivered snowmobile trailer wiring without any auxiliary brakes consists of Yellow - left turn Green - right turn Brown - running lights White - ground. The trailer wire spool is perfect for all basic wiring needs for marine vehicles, for neatly installed bonding wires and for replacing wires when rewiring the trailer. A good trailer wire for tow wire replacement! Quite frankly, bonded trailer wire maintenance is easy. It's just important to take the time to do it. If you take care of your trailer now, it should provide you with trouble-free service next winter when you load up for your first snowfall. https://www.amazon.com/GOGOONE-Trailer-Harness-Replacement-Vehicle/dp/B0B6C3YQHR/ref=sr_1_6?m=A29MW9Y8KEL5FU&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&qid=1662633031&s=merchant-items&sr=1-6
