This song has a very satisfying crunch to it. The rapid extratone kicks in the 2nd drop are cool. I love Notaker in general (i like BG too, just haven't heard a ton of his music).

I've been too busy with studying to post which I see as a good thing!!

Things I've done this week:

Made a tentative class schedule for the next few semesters

Conquered a calc concept I was struggling with

Learn if else statements in C++

Wrote my first few drafts of my first philosophy essay

The more mundane:

Went to the dentist

Had a good day at work

Started trying to tackle my laundry (gotta love the depression + adhd combo, I haven't put my clothes away in ages)

Set up my first lava lamp :DDD

Had a difficult conversation calmly and effectively - very glad this happened!

Tomorrow, hopefully I'll get more math done and finish my final draft of my philosophy paper.

I'm tired now tho so gn lol

every track that Patrick Topping releases on his Trick label is gas but this track is rocket fuel. a raucous floor-filler with erratic vocal cuts, thumping bass line, and more lasers than a Star Wars flick - once this thing takes off there's no slowing down.

DJ Susan - "Body Right"

Repopulate Mars continues to impress with the most consistent tech house bops in recent months (don't tell Claude). an infectious sample, groovy bass line, and addictive high melody gives the straightforward banger some welcome depth. when the air raid siren hits you'll definitely feel it.

FJAAK, Elli Acula - "To the Peak"

Germany's favorite weed smoking "boy band" is at it again. tough to pinpoint as always, they diverge from their usual techno sound to some breaks that wouldn't sound out of place in the mid 90's. sure to get you working a sweat, especially when that whistle melody kicks in. trying to hear this in the depths on the underground at Movement as soon as possible.

Blackgummy - "Trouble in Paradise"

the soundtrack to a dystopian journey that I want to go on. this sounds like a blazing fast coupe driving through Night City in cyberpunk 2077. neon and chrome. big electro melodies, synthwave stabs that descends into a techno groove - this is Blackgummy at the top of his game. ever evolving and relentless.

I Hate Models - "Lazy in Hell"

oh we're going dark. pumping peak time techno for the real club demons, it brings a tear to the eye. piercing highs, pounding bass and aggressive vocals - the slight moments of trancey reprieve makes the track even heavier. death metal techno, if this is hell I am game.

1. Little Dragon - Peace Of Mind (feat. Faith Evans)

This song came out at just the right time & hit me in the feels with it’s tastefulness & soul.

Little Dragon is a band that is always shining a bright light ahead of me, showing me the way to perfect, timeless music.

2. Andhim - Donner

Heard this track in a DJ set and had to shazam it immediately. Was taken aback by it’s rawness and beautiful symmetry.

3. Teachers - Loved You All The Way (Johannes Brecht Night Remix)

Johannes Brecht has slowly become one of my favourite producers and this remix oozes his character sound. Huge, deep kick drum surrounded by glittery synths. Big feels.

4. Jeremy Olander - Gattaca (Original Mix)

Wow. This song really works itself up into a crazy peak. One of my favourite songs to jog to. Everytime I listen I hear a detail I didn’t notice before. Jeremy Olander is my number 1 musical discovery of 2017.

5. Mr. Bill & Funi - Screening

Mr. BIll back at it again with the most sophisticated arranging and production. Proud to say he’s Australian too. This song really showcases the crazy level of detail and heart Mr Bill puts into everything he makes.

6. BlackGummy - Arp Makes Sphinx Purr

Just a good ol. banger. I love the medium level of intensity this bad boy sits at. Just slowly burns away and brings a great vibe.

7. Robot Koch - Reach (Chi Thanh Remix)

This track is so deeply spiritual. I love how long they make you wait before it hits the melodic build. By the end of the track I’m always left feeling uplifted and connected to my surroundings.

8. Kimbra - Top Of The World

So good to hear Kimbra back with so much confidence. Had to hear this a few times before I really appreciated everything that is inside this song. Everything about it resonates with what i’m looking for in music right now.

9. Andhim - German Winter

This song is the perfect way to close an 8hour party set & leave people feeling uplifted & reborn. Beautiful, glassy synths cascade over super smooth percussion. Showcases the versatility of Andhim.

10. Maribou State - November Nights

I know this song came out in 2016, but I only discovered it this year & I needed to put it in my list. So texturally and rhythmically ambitious but pulls it all of effortlessly. That first synth drop makes me smile every time i hear it.
