Valdemar Schønheyder Møller (Jan. 6, 1864 - 1905) was a Danish painter, who briefly studied at the Royal Academy before shifting to P.S. Krøyer’s school.

He befriended Vilhelm Hammerhøi there and assisted him with model photography - a new approach in Denmark in the 1880s.

In the 1890s Schønheyder Møller frequented Skagen (Anna Ancher painted his portrait), but soon relocated to Paris where he singlemindedly started painting canvases with sunlight as the dominant element. The locals called him Le peintre du Soleil…

Schønheyder Møller was bipolar and spent his last five years in a mental hospital in Aarhus, Denmark.

I am an artist and children’s book illustrator and diagnosed bipolar II with generalised anxiety disorder. Of course that’s not the only things I am, I am also a daughter, a mother, a wife and a friend, but it’s the bipolar and the art that mainly define my life.

Bipolar / Mental illness and art definitely go hand in hand for me, although nobody is 100% positive on the exact causes behind bipolar, brain chemistry, genes, trauma or all of the above. What is generally agreed upon is that individuals with a MH condition are more likely to be creative Do we use a different part of our brains? Is there an area of the brain that controls how we interpret things in a different way to others and that part is also responsible for our moods and personality? Who knows? I certainly don’t . What I do know though if a magic wand could be waved to take away my bipolar but along with that I would lose my creativity, then I wouldn’t allow that wand to be waved

thought maybe i say hi in your feed! My name is Maria Skliarova, and I am a Ukrainian full-time artist. I did the cover for the book The Lost Year (which was a finalist for the National Book Award) and worked with numerous magazines as conceptual editorial illustrator. 

I have bipolar disorder so sometimes i don’t draw for four-five months 🥲 Also I read a looot of books (my last fave fourth wing & iron flame, bc fantasy can sometimes help me to ease struggling with bd). that’s it 🫶🏻🖌️

Arrhythmia

Lying awake,

Staring at the ceiling,

Internally screaming,

Thinking about the billion things that they could do.

The whole house is clean by 4:00 A.M.

They'll pay for it in the morning,

But they'll swear they're doing better.

And they will be,

For the time being.

But, eventually

The clock will stop,

And it will be time to go back to sleep.

A vicious cycle.

A rising tide that swells before receding.

My face is currently like Niagara Falls …the slightest bit of anxiety over a situation = face pouring with sweat

It’s horrible and embarrassing especially if I’m out at the time

Just in the busy town the other day it started because I was stressing it was too busy for me and now today over a sofa delivery and dealing with the delivery guys ….tap on!
