James 2:1-4
How can you claim to have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ if you favor some people over others? … If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person, but you say to the poor one, ‘You can stand over there, or else sit on the floor’—well, doesn’t this discrimination show that your judgments are guided by evil motives?
Matthew 25:41-45
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
Zechariah 7:9-10
Thus says the Lord of hosts: Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another; do not oppress the widow, the orphan, the alien, or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.
Leviticus 19:34
The alien who resides with you shall be to you as the citizen among you; you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
Deuteronomy 27:19
‘Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’

The chapter ends with
20 If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar; for whoever does not love a brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. 22 This is the commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
If you call yourself a servant and lover of the Most High, then hate towards another should not reside in you. Does it? Get rid of it!

I have a bible app on my phone now because I want to read/listen to it, mostly out of curiosity.
There is a daily bible verse that will appear in my notifications at really any point in the day, today it was John 1:29.
There's just something about seeing this in my notifications while listening to a song about being so into someone you want to have rough nasty sex directly after having just finished reading a truly deranged fic about a horrible man named John.

Telling people you're Christian: Blasè, dated, wrong. Instant dislike.
Telling people you're a true follower of Christ: Idk... What I'm saying but I'm trying to make a point about Christians not actually following the teachings of Christ and if they were True followers then they wouldn't be so far up everyone's ass with controlling and hateful policies like...
Homophobes think more about gay sex than actual gay people! And they're way too concerned about genitals.... and they're really creepy about children... ACTUAL children.
The projection is REAL. The call is coming from INSIDE THE HOUSE! You're the problem! You're the person you're scared of!
They freak out over people "forcing trans on kids" as if they themselves aren't forcing unnecessary surgeries onto Intersex babies!!! Transphobes are the ones forcing kids to transition!!
If they truly believed in their "God" then they would not mutilate intersex babies! Because they would believe God made them that way and that they were special or whatever idfk.
IT ISN'T ABOUT THE BIBLE! THEY JUST WANT CONTROL!!! How the FUCK are you gonna say something was "God's plan" and then mutilate a baby?!?!? They deny their children life-saving medical treatment bc it's "God's plan" but then in the same breath mutilate intersex babies... put them on hormones that make them sick... just so they can be "normal".

As, you know, someone who doesn't align with their assigned birth gender, reading Jesus saying "from every woman who makes herself a male will enter the Kingdom of Heaven" to Peter makes me happy. I know He probably didn't meant it in a literal way, more in a "if male's are worthy of life, love, wealth, the truth, territories, parties, reading, arts, religion, are allowed to pray and read the scriptures, have discussions about politics, have the autonomy over their bodies, and a lot of perks because the society was built for males only, then I'll make her a male so she can live with such dignity as you" way. But it won't never stop making me happy because God made woman and man equally in His image. Woman are just His image as man, meaning He probably has feminine and masculine traits and we must find a way to balance it, hence why marriage exists for cis people (just a thought, I don't know if it makes sense). But I guess in trans people, they can find this balance within themselves and not the marriage. Cis people may find their divine in marriage but trans people find their divine within themselves.

hey to this person sorry i didn’t answer this sooner, it was about 4 am when i got it and i’d just finished watching Nerdy Prudes Must Die so i was not in the proper head space to answer this and then i promptly forgot to
(i’m using a photo because i want to keep your ask in my inbox so i don’t lose it)
anyway happy pride month first and foremost!! i hope in the, like, 2 months it’s been you’re feeling more comfortable in your sexuality!
the way i think about christianity vs sexuality is that there’s a lot of rules in the bible and no one follows all of them. There’s a story in the bible where it says that if your kids don’t behave you should take them outside your neighborhood and throw rocks at them till they die. obviously, we don’t do that. more specifically, that was the old testament, and most of those kinds of stories are null and void because Jesus died for our sins. in my opinion, these null and void rules also apply to where the bible says not to be gay.
The old testament gives us the ten commandments. these are generally well known, and out of all the things the old testament says, these are the most important. However, in the new testament when Jesus is preaching, he says that if those 10 rules are too much, there are 2 main ones: 1- worship no other gods above the one true god and 2- love thy neighbor as thyself. All in all, christianity is about love and acceptance, and sharing those feelings.
Some people think being gay is a sin, some don’t, some people say that their bible doesn’t even say anything about homosexuality since there are multiple translations. But the bible says that god made everyone the way they are on purpose, so i think that as long as you are doing your job of spreading love and care, god doesn’t care if you’re gay.
tldr; In my opinion, if being gay was considered a sin by old testament standards, then it isn’t anymore because Jesus died for us. So if anyone says being gay is a sin, you can say the son of god died for your right to kiss whoever the hell you want. happy pride month 🏳️🌈

Loving her never felt like a sin.
It was patient, and kind,
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.
If god is real, and he inspired those words, he'd know they were about her.

Whoever says he is in the light but hates his brother is still in darkness. But whoever loves his brother is in the light. And there will be no reason to sin because of him. Whoever hates his brother is not in the light but lives in darkness. He does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

A lot of Christians I've met are hateful¹ but that is not following your scripture, or what Jesus would want.
Wasn't Jesus' entire thing was to be accepting of everyone²? he died for your sins, can't you accept his ways and show compassion to everyone despite what other things the bible may say?
I feel, it's important to mention that the bible isn't even directly God's word, it was written by man, and man cannot be perfect. The bible has a good amount of contradictions³, it is not a book of rules, more a guideline, we should follow the main ideas it teaches.
The bible condemns a lot of things⁴ which followers seem to ignore, so why not ignoring the condemning of homosexuality? There is no good excuse for bigotry, nobody should be using their beliefs to be hateful to others.
¹In my personal experience, a lot of Christians I have encountered have held a lot of hate in their heart, one side of my family is Christian (white side) they hold biases against some groups of people for no apparent reason outside of racism, I know that there are nice Christians, I know some nice Christians, but it's just drowned out by all the bad.
²Matthew 9:10-17, Mark 2:15-22, and Luke 5:29-39: The Pharisee rebuke Jesus for eating with sinners, to which Jesus responds, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick." Jesus shows mercy as opposed to self-righteous judgment.
Luke 6:35 Jesus said, “Love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil”
³Example: Genesis chapter 1 says the first man and woman were made at the same time, and after the animals. But Genesis chapter 2 gives a different order of creation: man, then the animals, and then woman.
⁴Examples:
- no eating pig, rabbit, camel, shellfish, lobster, clams, oysters, urchins, fat, blood, certain birds, ect. (Leviticus 11:4, 11:10, 3:17, 11:13-20)
- no mixed fabrics (Leviticus 19:19)
- no short hair (Leviticus 19:27)
- no grudges (Leviticus 19:18)
- if you cheat you go to hell (Leviticus 20:10)
•••••••••••••••••••••
All of this to say, don't use Christianity to be an asshole or I'll find you xx
