In the winter of 1968, in a small mountain town, three children try to escape from the so-called Home dels nassos (nose man), a legendary being who captures lying children during the last day of the year. But they are not the only ones who fear it: the lies of the past can also be smelled.

Typologies - Matthew Chattle

Matthew Chattle is a freelance editorial press photographer. He works in the way that he shoots things that interest him such as the Queen's funeral, Amritsar Sikh March, London Ratha Yatra the Festival of Chariots and other events. However being a freelance he also does his own documentary/editorial thing as well such as taking images of the Götheborg Of Sweden (massive ship) at Canary Wharf in London, the St Benet’s Abbey in Norfolk and also food.

Chattle really has an eye of things, beauty we wouldn't normally see or angles we never considered. He also posts nearly everything he takes, which coming from someone who takes far too many images is actually quite inspiring. This conflicts me because some images he has posted makes me think - why? why would you post that? But I can understand it from a documentary perspective and enjoy them because there is a reason behind it.

Chattle caught my eye with his almost two year long journey of photographing his shoes with a sign on the ground taken on his iPhone. These signs were put here for a multitude of reasons throughout the last couple of years. For example during the COVID-19 pandemic to guide people and make sure everyone was practicing social distancing, these signs were also put here to show direction of travel, guidance to stop, keep out and whether to exit or not. Also as seen in the image to the left, he even made a mini typology within his larger typology. And he hasn't stopped since creating this example, still to this day he is creating images identical to this with it own unique sign design.

This typology is an example of work he does for himself and for others to enjoy. None of these images or typologies are visible on his website, only on his Instagram. However he did do an interview with Typology City in July 2020 mainly as he was starting out with just taking images of the social distancing signs.
