jay was a fool.
anyone in his friend group could tell how smitten he was when he first saw you on campus.
from the way he always stopped in his tracks just for his eyes to follow you all around, to the way he changed the path he took to his classes just so he could admire you for a second longer. it was “shorter”, because that’s the excuse anyone who wants just moments longer to stare at their crush says.
some would say he had a cute crush on a girl, others would say he had a mind boggling horrendous fat crush on you.
regardless of whichever would be true (leaning towards the second option), he had a crush. “embarrassingly pathetic” is how his friend’s would put it.
it was the way you didn’t even notice him, the star pitcher everyone couldn’t stop talking about. jay wasn’t used to being invisible, however, to you, he might as well not have been going to the same college to start.
he could’ve been demotivated, but when jay had his mind set on love, he was tunnel visioned in on it.
you however, couldn’t care less…at least that’s what you said before. you knew about his tragic and undying crush, but you had a mission; academics first.
but when your parents start pestering you about settling down after you finish your senior year in college all of a sudden, he’s no longer just a background character in your go-getter of a life.
suddenly he’s become a main character…to fool your parents.
“fake date me, it works for me and you,” he says and all of a sudden, that’s become your reality.
the subtle hint in his tone to what the months ahead may allude to raise some suspicion, but hey at least your parents won’t be on your back anymore.

if you've ever met someone who's gone to UChicago you understand why Misha is Like That.
#Iykyk#Akfhdkshfjs#I also don't think people realize just how fucking insane uchicago is#because it's 'not an ivy' so it's not as mainstream#But it's scary smart school.#they have a quarter system instead of a semester system which means 3 quarters (sets of classes) in LESS time than your average state schoo#Because they have a shorter academic year as well.#So they're doing more work in less time and more classes in less time than the average college student#All at the university 'where fun goes to die'#A very prestigious uni that loves research and rigor.#Source: my friend who just graduated from there. At Law

Synopsis: Being the state’s district attorney was your dream job. After years of law school and hard work, you were finally appointed the job and allowed to represent the state in court. You singlehandedly decided which cases to prosecute and who to bring to justice. When your old academic rival, Hiromi, shows up as a defense attorney in court one evening, you know he’s going to give you a hard trial… and a hard fuck.
An: Anything for you nepobaby :)) Hope you enjoy this. I swear I'm going to make these shorter every time, but then, I start writing and literally can't stop.
You two have been chasing each other for the longest time.
It started in law school. You don't exactly remember how it happened, but slowly over time, you and Hiromi began playing your little academic race.
Both of you were brilliant, quick, and determined. Honestly, you two were like a professor's dream to have.
You found yourself studying longer, committing to all-nighters just to read over several codes of law and past cases in the court. All of it just to score a little bit higher than him on a test.
But dammit, he was faster than you when answering questions the professor proposes. His photographic memory serves him well as he's able to distinctly remember what code a law comes from and where the code is at in the Code of Federal Regulations.
Don't even get me started on how mock trials went. The professor would actually have to stop pairing you two against each other because it would become so toxic and brutal between the two.
As law school progressed, the workload just got worse. The school expected you to complete assignments, study for the bar, and take on unpaid internships. You were a slave for your degree.
Hiromi wasn't immune to those types of pressures either, and as much as he hated to admit it, study partners help retain information better. It would help effectively consume the source material in half the time. Unfortunately, the rest of his peers were just so beneath him...
Well, besides you.
All-nighters weren't lonely anymore. You and Hiromi would drink enough caffeine to kill an elephant and go through weeks worth of content in a night.
"You know... the release of endorphins can help concentration and reduce stress, thus helping students study." Hiromi said one early morning.
It was around four a.m, and you two were covering the petty crimes section. To say it was incredibly boring was an understatement. Students like you and Hiromi would never represent or prosecute clients in petty crimes. You two were destined for so much more.
"What are you suggesting, Hiro?" You ask before a small yawn escapes your mouth. You hadn't even looked up from your book.
"I'm suggesting that we help each other by taking a quick break." He responds as he shoves the book away from your lap. Your surprised eyes look up at his tired ones, and he cups your cheeks before he leans down to kiss you.
You would walk into class sore the next day. As soon as the adrenaline from one round wore off, you two were gunning for the next.
Your study sessions continued on and so did your competitiveness.
When you scored one point higher than him on the bar, he hate fucked you until morning.
Then, he made it his mission to surpass you everywhere else too. Recruiters and attorneys personally from different law firms were ringing Hiromi's phone constantly.
You genuinely believed that he would take the calls on speakerphone just to fucking spite you. You could hear the lawyers on the phone praise him so highly, practically begging for him to come practice at their firm.
Of course, you were getting some recruitment opportunities too, but it was still somehow harder for women to find jobs in the criminal justice field than it was for men. You also hadn't been selling yourself to these firms as much as he was because you had your mind set on working for the state. You wanted to be a prosecutor for the district attorney.
The icing on the cake was when you two were having one of your "study breaks" (aka Hiromi had you bent over your bed, and he was delivering the deepest, most toe curling backshots known to man), and he took a phone call from the district attorney's office.
His hand covered your mouth as he continued to thrust roughly into you while the man on the phone offered Hiromi a job.
"Hm? Oh, thank you for the opportunity." He graciously spoke over the phone as he was absolutely bullying your insides. Your stomach coiled from anger and arousal. You fucking hated him so much. "I'm weighing out all of my options now, but I'll have an answer for you by the end of the week, sir."
After more pleasantries, he hung up the phone and bent over to where he could whisper in your hear. "Hear that, little dove? I'm getting job opportunities from the state while you're under me getting ruined."
"You know, I'll probably be too busy from here on out to play this childish games with you." Thrust. "That'll be too bad, won't it?" Thrust. "Can't say I'll miss you though." Thrust. "Maybe this pretty cunt, but that'll probably be it." Thrust. "Better make this last one count, shouldn't we?" Thrust.
Oh, and he made good on his word. Your entire body ached after he made you finish for the nth time that evening. "I'll see you around, little dove." He whispered in your ear before pressing a kiss to your cheek and leaving your dorm.
He made good on his word about that too. He never returned to your dorm. Sure, you two were graduating in two days, but some small part of you thought he'd might come over for a celebration.
No, he left you behind. He left you behind. You lost.
The anger burned hot for a few months as you gathered barrings after law school, especially when you'd see his name in the papers.
Defense Attorney Higuruma gets a non-guilty verdict for alleged drug trafficker!
Higuruma sways jury in closing argument, providing the most gut-wrenching speech!
Higuruma, Higuruma, Higuruma.
He was a fucking sensation in the criminal justice field, and his name left a sour taste in your mouth.
The anger only started to subside once you landed your dream job after a long internship. You were finally a prosecutor in a major circuit court in the crimes division.
Hiromi's name finally fled from your brain as you started to flood the newspapers.
Prosecutor helps put away notorious serial killer for life.
Cartel drug lord behind bars after district attorney helps deliver a guilty verdict for over 32 charges.
You finally felt like you hadn't been left behind. You were living the life you wanted to live ever since you were little. Did you imagine you'd be married by now? Yeah, sure. You just... hadn't met the right one yet.
Dating was hard while maintaining a professional career. You had to be extremely choosey for one. It would be scandalous to see a prosecutor dating someone with a criminal record.
And the men were sweet, don't get me wrong. They'd take you on nice dates, write you pitiful love letters, and treat you like a princess... They were all so collectively boring, especially in bed.
You'd tell them! You'd give them incredibly detailed instruction to be rough and mean to you, but they'd always laugh and make some excuse for not wanting to hurt you. Ugh.
Maybe you were ruined by Hiromi... because the only thing that got you off nowadays was the thought of him whispering hateful words into your ear while pounding himself into you with little concern or remorse.
Slowly, the gifts would start appearing.
A bouquet of white roses sitting on your desk. Do you miss me, LD?
You thought it was a simple mistake or a sick prank from one of the criminals you help lock away. You would quietly dispose of the gifts until the slowly became more alarming.
Miss your sweet sounds, LD. An audio recording of you moaning on a tape recorder played.
Who are you trying to look nice for, LD? None of those men could treat you like I did. Pictures of you going out on a date.
I'll take care of them for you. Don't worry your pretty little head, LD. A dead dove.
This was enough to get a harassment and stalking charge, but you didn't want to concern the local police. For one, you knew how lousy the police were when it came to crimes like this from working alongside them. They were honestly an embarrassment. For two, you didn't want this getting out to the public because then copy cats would start up.
You tried investigating on your own, but you came up to a dead end every time. The way this person called you LD made your head spin. That's not even your initials, but the gifts were certainly intended for you.
The only refuge for you was when you were in a court room. You felt safe and protected. A stalker of this degree wouldn't be ballsy enough to confront you in a courtroom while you're surrounded by police and bailiffs constantly.
Your refuge was short-lived by catching a glimpse of a familiar face in court one evening.
He looked as handsome as he did in law school. Hiromi's tired eyes met yours, and he almost immediately cracked a smile as he approached you during recess.
"Well look at you, dove." He smiled as he looked down at you. Hiromi's dark hair laid messily on the top of his head, and he was wearing a full business suit that framed his body nicely. "I see the district attorney's office settled for the second best option after I turned them down. Good for them."
He was still as arrogant and competitive as ever, making your heart flutter like it did back in law school. "Very funny, Hiro." You roll your eyes as you stand to look up at him.
"It's all harmless jokes. I promise. I'm proud of you, really." He assures as his eyes wander your body for just a moment.
You're not use to his praise. Normally, you're not the type to enjoy it, but hearing those words made you clench around nothing as your stomach swirled with butterflies.
"Thanks... I've heard good things about you as well.." You murmur quietly, suddenly losing all your nerve. "So, are you representing someone?"
"I am. I didn't just come here to watch you for fun. Though, I would've had I known you were such a big shot." He nudges your arm gently, causing you to laugh softly. "I'm representing a young man charged with murder. I'm sure you heard about it. Big news all over the television."
"Who was the victim?" You ask as you flip through your case files. If this was a first setting, surely you wouldn't go to trial today, but the thought of going to trial against Hiromi made your heart pound with excitement. Not many lawyers gave you too much trouble during court, but Hiromi... he would be a good match.
"They can't identify the victim. Male, John Doe, early twenties. That's all the information the cops have." He explains, and you start skimming through the case file quickly. It's astonishing that the police made an arrest when there was hardly a body to work from.
"Huh." You muse quietly as you look through the crime scene photos and pictures of the defendant's hands covered in soot from a fire. The victim had been burned.
"I'll be making a motion to dismiss this case based on a lack of substantial evidence linking my defendant to the body. Just a heads up." He then winks at you and walks away from your bar as the judge comes back and sits on the bench.
It seems as though you and Hiromi will have one last back and forth like old times.
When his case gets called before the judge, Hiromi takes the pleasure in speaking first. His client is handcuffed, sitting down next to him. The defendant was young, maybe nineteen. The evidence supporting his conviction was weak, but it was still there. Convincing a jury to convict him will be tough, and that's if the judge doesn't dismiss the charges outright.
After a long, drawn out argument between you and Hiromi about the proponderance of evidence, the judge decides to not dismiss the case.
"In that case, your honor, we would like to request a hearing today." Hiromi speaks with such confidence as he stands before the judge.
"Your honor, the state hasn't had adequate time to prepare for a hearing, and this is first setting. We'd like to request a reset date to prepare our defense." You immediately follow up as you also stand up.
"Your honor, my client has been incarcerated for over twenty-five days for a charge that has flimsy evidence at best. He has a right to a speedy trial." Hiromi rebuttals.
"Enough. We'll have a trial today whether the state is ready to proceed or not." The judge decides. Wonderful.
The trial is as painful as you imagined it to be. The evidence is flimsy, and Hiromi is practically bullying the witnesses on the stand, and when it's your turn for redirect, he practically bullies you with objection after objection.
"And what did the police-"
"Objection hearsay." Hiromi stands from his chair and eyes you with that cold stare of his.
"Your honor, I haven't even finished my question without the defense counsel butting in." You argue to the judge.
"Overruled. Counsel, let her finish." The judge warns.
Your head is practically throbbing by the end of it. The jury deliberates for two hours before coming back with the sentence. You tried your hardest and made good work with what evidence you had.
"On the charge of first-degree murder, we the jury find the defendant... not guilty."
Dammit. Hiromi won once again.
"On the charge of abuse of a corpse, we the jury find the defendant... guilty. On the charge of tampering with physical evidence, we the jury find the defendant... guilty. On the charge of arson, we the jury find the defendant... guilty."
He didn't win.
"On these charges, I will impose a sentence of twenty-five years in the Fuchu Prison with the possibility of parole after ten years." The judge sentences before whacking his gavel down.
You let out an exhausting sigh as you slowly gather your things after court adjourns. Today was likely the hardest day in your career, and you can't help but think about that young nineteen-year-old who won't see freedom until he's twenty-nine.
Hiromi approaches you after the courtroom is completely empty.
"You seem tired, dove." He muses as he loosens his tie from around his neck. He'd never admit it, but you absolutely gave him a run for his money.
"It's not everyday someone gives me that much trouble in court." You softly laugh as you look up at him. You feel your cheeks warm as you realize how close he is to you.
"Yeah? Did it bring back old memories?" He steps closer as his hand slowly reaches up to cup your cheek.
"Hm? Of me winning our mock trials?" You ask with a cheeky grin, and his grip tightens a bit.
"I distinctly remember our record being 15-13 with me having 15 wins." He replies as he leans down to you. He remembers the score you two kept from back in law school?
"You must be still sore about me outscoring you on the bar if you kept up with our scores from mock trials."
"Mmm, quite the contrary actually, you've always been my favorite opponent, even if you piss me off." He replies as he leans down towards you and presses his lips against yours.
The kiss was full of everything you could ever imagine: heat, lust, a hint of resentment towards each other. Before you know it, you're pressed against the table as Hiromi's hands roam your body like he's in a frenzy.
"Hiro.." You moan as he kisses down your neck roughly biting on your flesh. "My office.." You whine, trying to get him to ease up on you just long enough so you two could get out of the courtroom.
"And if I say no, little dove?" He whispers in your ear as his hand slips underneath your dress with such ease. "You'd let me take you right here, wouldn't you?"
"Hiro~" You whine in a breathy tone as his fingers trace around your clit like they did so long ago.
"That's not an answer, little dove." He demands as he applies more pressure. "I asked if you'd let me fuck you on this bar until you forgot your own name."
"Yes-!" You gasp as his fingers skillfully play with your most sensitive area.
"That's what i figured. You were always such a slut back then too. Somethings never change, hm?" He muses as he goes back to sucking and kissing on your neck. His fingers tease near your entrance, but they slowly trail back up to your clit.
"You're lucky I respect you enough." He growls lowly before he removes his hand. "Lead the way to your office."
As soon as you two are behind closed doors in your modest office, clothes are being thrown onto the floor, moans and small whispers of sweet nothings were exchanged. You could quite literally feel your heartbeat fluttering deep inside your cunt.
He gently nudges you to lay down on the leather couch you had in your office for the late nights you spent reviewing evidence. Your skin connects with the soft leather as he gets between your legs. "I wonder if you still taste the same, little dove."
His tongue gently laps at you, and he immediately hums with satisfaction. "Somehow sweeter, actually." He answers his own question as flattens his tongue and licks you from entrance to clit, savoring your fluids of arousal on his tongue.
Your hands find his hair, and you gently tug on it as he helps himself to your wetness. He takes his time, lapping at you slowly while gently suckling on the small bundle of nerves. Sometimes you swear he's spelling his name into your cunt with his tongue before he shoves his tongue directly inside you, drinking your nectar straight from the source.
"H-hiro~!" You whimper as you try to shuffle your hips away. The stimulation was too much to handle.
"Don't try to run from me, little dove." He grunts as he wraps his arms around your thighs and pulls you right back down onto his mouth.
His nose bumps into your clit as you subconsciously ride his face, searching for release. "Yeeahh, there we gooo. There's my little dove.. bein' such a slut." He coos as he buries his face deeper into your core.
His entire face is damp from your delicious juices. He's such a messy eater, getting it all over his chin and nose. His tired eyes flutter up to look at you as you're on the crux of your orgasm.
"Cum on my face, little dove. Let me have you." He instructs before lapping at your cunt like a starved man.
Your voice goes high pitched and breathy as you grab onto his hair tightly, forcing him in even more before you finish all over his mouth. He gratefully continues to run his tongue along your folds until your legs are trembling on his shoulders.
You softly pant as you relax into the couch. You hadn't had an orgasm like that in so long. You had almost forgotten how they feel.
Hiromi looks up at you with a confident smirk and an intoxicated gaze. "Seems like you missed me, little dove."
"Please, I only missed when you're too preoccupied to run your mouth." You retort with a grin.
"Is that so?" He questions as he pulls down his boxers, and his length springs up from the constraints of the fabric. You tug your bottom lip between your teeth as you're reminded of how big he is.
As if on muscle memory, you turn to get in doggy position because that was his and your position of choice back in college, but he grabs your thighs and prevents you from moving.
"Nuh uh. You're gonna look at me when I take you this time." He grins as he positions himself between your thighs. He fists his length a few times before slowly dragging his fat tip up and down your sopping wet folds, savoring the feeling with a small groan. "I wanna see the tears in your pretty eyes, little dove."
You're about to argue and protest about the tears part, but he's quick to shut you up by forcing his length into you all at once. Hiromi's not only long, but he's very girthy, stretching you so deliciously. White hot pain courses through you as your nails dig into the couch.
"Ah-! F-fuck!" You curse as you try to get use to his size.
"Mmm~ you're tight, dove. How long has it been for you, hm? Surely you've fucked someone since college, unless you've been hopelessly waiting for me." He grins as his hips are slow. He allows you the space to almost get use to him before he shoves into you aggressively, making you see stars.
"Ngh... p-probably like.. uh.. oh god, six months?" You answer as you stutter over your words. Your last hookup had ghosted you after you slept with him. Though, it didn't really bother you. He wasn't good in bed at all, and he called you crazy for asking him to be mean to you during the deed.
Hiromi simply smirks down at you, proud of himself for how fast he can make you a mess underneath him.
"Oh, you poor thing... hah.. No one can take care of this pussy like I can, hm?" He taunts as his hands grab ahold of your hips. His eyes are fixated on where you two are connects. He loves watching his length sink inside you.
Your warm wet entrance only serves to suck him in further, causing him to groan and continue his deep, ruthless pacing.
"N-no..." You're not even able to deny it to him and play hard to get. No one comes close to making you feel as good as he does.
His hips snap forward harshly, fucking you deeper into the black leather of the couch beneath you. Your entire body jolts with each rough thrust.
"Only I'm good for you, isn't that right little dove? You're mine, aren't you?" He asks as his hand reaches up and wraps around your throat, gently applying pressure. His eyes are now staring deeply into yours, waiting for an answer.
"Fuck, Hiro.." You whine, unable to commit to saying you're his. He applies a bit more pressure with his thumb and fingertips.
"I asked you a question." He grits as he slams back into you at a dizzying rate. "Are you mine?"
"Oh~ fuck.. I-" You can barely get a word out as he's ruthlessly abusing your little cunt. This was the roughness you had begged all those other guys for. "Yes-! God, fuck, yes." You cry as you feel your stomach clenching with the burning passion of another orgasm.
"I'm gonna let you in on a little secret because you're mine now, dove." He mumbles lowly as he leans closer towards you. His hips keep up with his rhythm as his face is close to your ear. "That guy you sent to prison today was innocent of all counts."
Your hands reach up and hold onto his back muscles as he's rutting deep inside of you, reaching new places with his new position.
"What-? Hiro... I don't.."
"You sent an innocent man to prison, little dove. Doesn't that bother you? You're sick just like me." He continues on, making you feel all confused.
"How... ah~ how do you know he's innocent?" You ask as your eyebrows furrow. Your hands search his back, and your legs wrap around him as if you're hugging him.
"Because I did it." He growls into your ear. "That pathetic excuse for a man wasn't good enough for you, LD."
Chills immediately shoot through your body from him calling you by those damn initials. LD. You cling to him for a moment, unsure of what to even feel or say. His hips continue to rut inside of you.
"What's the matter, little dove?"
LD. Little dove. You squeeze your eyes shut as you finally piece everything together. Your last hookup didn't disappear. Your stalker, Hiromi, took care of him just like he promised he would.
For some sick reason, your stomach continues to clench as he's rocking back and forth. Your eyes meet his.
"Hiro... that's so.." You can't get the words out before you're finishing all over his cock with a high-pitched squeal.
Hiromi grins wildly as he watches you come undone from your orgasm. "My little dove is just as sick as I am, isn't she?" He coos before he leans back up.
His hips starts to drill into you mercilessly, not giving you a chance to catch your breath or even think. "Oh, fuck!" He curses as he's chasing his high deep inside you. “Mmnph~ gonna cum inside you and really make you mine.” He coos as his hips start moving sloppily.
You know it’s so wrong and taboo, but you couldn’t help but feel your arousal start building again. He just confessed to you about a serious crime, yet your pussy was still soaked, making the most delicious plap! plap! plap! noises as he pounded into you.
“Fuuuuck~” He groans as you feel his thick length twitching inside of you as he spills deep into your womb.
For a moment, you’re completely speechless. Hiromi softly pants as he presses small kisses into your collarbones. “‘m sorry. I had to do it, dove. I couldn’t let him get close to you.” He murmurs quietly. “Only I get to hear your sweet sounds. No one knows you better than me.”
Taking a deep breath, you realize that if this ever gets brought to light, you and Hiromi are going down for life. You gently nuzzle your face into his neck. “Hiro, you’re insane.”
“I know that, I do.” His voice is so sweet, cooing to you. “But we can get away with it, even if we’re miraculously caught.” He presses a sweet kiss to your temple.
Well, a year later, and the two renowned lawyers are married. At least you didn’t marry someone with a criminal record ;)

LOVE ON THE COURT | 29 NOT AGAIN
SYNOPSIS | every college student has their struggles, but raising her younger brother has Y/N top of the list, struggling her way through college whilst balancing her academics and basketball captaincy is difficult no doubt and with Jaemin, her ex best friend and captain of the guys basketball team, and his growing one sided hatred towards her, it doesn't seem to be getting any easier
WARNINGS | sexual innuendos, swearing, mentions + pretty detailed description of a panic attack, lwk abandonment issues
NOTES | the girls are fighting... you didn't think I'd let them make up this fast did you?? a much shorter chapter today I'm sorry 😓
15:27pm , after the game
Y/n knew ningning inside out, they'd been friends for their whole life, best friends for a number of years, they'd spent longer together than apart.
Y/n and ningning were practically sisters. They'd fought over stupid things like if apple juice was better than orange juice, they'd stolen each others clothes, done each others nails as post breakup therapy— they'd experienced love and loss, and they'd always experienced it together.
It was and always had been them against the world.
Personal problems had always existed, but they'd face them head on and, most importantly, together.
So y/n knew what ningning was feeling, maybe not exactly, but she certainly knew why ningning felt the way she did.
And sure, Ningning's words had hurt y/n too, but that was the thing, they'd said the best and worst things to one another.
Being so close to someone can be a double-edged sword. Knowing their triggers and insecurities so well that in the heat of the moment, it’s almost too easy to throw those daggers. The intimacy shared can turn into a weapon of knowing exactly what to say to hit them where it hurts. In those moments, it’s like being caught in a toxic cycle, where love and pain intertwine.
Regret sets in as soon as the words leave the mouth, but the damage is done, leaving both people feeling raw and vulnerable. It's a harsh reminder that knowing someone deeply can sometimes mean knowing how to wound them just as easily. So y/n knew that Ningning was showing nothing but her concern.
But equally, she understood she deserved somewhat of an apology as well, even if Ningning's words had come from a good place, they'd hurt, and perhaps they hurt even more so coming from her.
It seemed a simple explanation why this argument of theirs had rested at the forefront of her mind for so long too, because Ningning was the only person in her life who Y/n couldn't imagine losing. And after everything that she'd been through, after the people she'd lost, and the relationships she'd seen go with them, she knew she wouldn't let herself be to blame. She wouldn't let herself lose a friend, least of all Ningning, just because she didn't communicate.
Or at least that was her plan, as she made her way down the hallway of the hotel, her hair still dripping from the shower she'd just taken, gripping way too many snacks for the two of them to share. Minjun followed after her, still gushing about having seen his older sister play for the first time, begging her to teach him how to dribble the ball like her, a grin plastered across his face. It was endearing, really.
And Y/n swore she only turned to smile at him for a second, but in the next, she felt her heart drop and her blood run cold. It felt like the ground shifted beneath her feet, and suddenly, she was trapped in a whirlwind of way too many thoughts, coming way too fast.
There, stood across the hallway, was a man she had made many desperate attempts to forget. To no avail, of course.
She blinked, rubbing her fists against her eyes hurriedly, as if he was nothing but a figment of her imagination, that when she looked up again he'd disappear and this would be nothing but a bad dream. But there he was, struggling to open the door to his room, angrily staring down at the key card with furrowed brows.
He seemed older. His hairs greying and wrinkles setting in across the feafures she recognised so well, his smile lines deeper than the last time she'd seen him.
The last time she'd seen him.
Her breaths quickened at the sight of him, becoming deeper yet each inhale felt shallower than the last, and her chest tightened like a vice. This wasn't happening, it couldn't, not here, not now.
She could hear the muffled voice beside her asking why they'd stopped walking, she could feel minjun's grip tighten around her, she could see the way the man turned his head at the realisation he was no longer alone in the haway, but it all felt distant, like she was underwater. Unsure how to answer, she stood silently, gaze locked on the man, blinking rapidly, questioning if he was really, truly stood in front of her at all. As soon as he locked eyes with her, she felt the bile rush up her throat and a distant ringing in her ears, her hands beginning to shake against the smaller ones that held hers. Y/n felt like she was drowning. But she knew she couldn't. It was a luxury she couldn't afford, and the soft skin brushing against her hand was a reminder of that.
Panic surged through her, and y/n fought the urge to break down, feeling the walls closing in on her. The bright lights overhead felt too harsh, illuminating the doubts swirling in her head, making it hard to focus. Calm down. She thought, but she couldn't. She couldn't think she couldn't move, and worst of all, she couldn't calm down. She convinced herself this was nothing, voiced out lies in her mind that echoed with uncertainty. Breathe, she thought. But she couldn't. It was as if every unresolved feeling crashed over her like a tidal wave, leaving her gasping for air and desperate for an escape. She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to ground herself, but the memories flooded back faster, unrelenting and unforgiving.
Y/n found herself tugging harshly against the smaller wrist that was still loosely resting in her grip, making a sharp 180 and jetting off down the hallway, with shaky steps and ragged breaths.
She had to go, she had to leave, she had to do it now. Her phone vibrated in her hands only seconds later, a painfully familiar contact flashing across the screen, and all y/n could do was throw the device into the bottom of her bag, stuffing her belongings in on top, making no effort to answer the questions coming from the confused young boy who watched her. The blood rushed to her head so quickly, too quickly, in fact, and she swore the room in front of her begun to spin.
Her dad hadn't called her in years, not a single message, not a single word, so why now was he calling? Why was he reaching out now? Just because he'd seen her? Did some sort of shitty parental guilt kick in at the sight of his now grown children? Did he feel inadequate, maybe even jealous that they were doing just fine without him? Y/n didn't know, and she didn't care, but seeing him was still enough for her to take an unwanted trip down memory lane, reliving every moment since he'd left. Her chest tightened, the lump in her throat growing to the point that she couldn't breathe no matter how hard she tried. Still, she kept going, scanning the room to make sure she hadn't left anything behind.
Minjun had never seen his sister like this, so close to breaking down, and y/n didn't plan on letting that change today, sucking in deep breaths and wiping her teary eyes as she pulled his jacket around him. It was getting cold outside now, and she wouldn't let one careless mistake from her because of something so trivial, leading to him becoming sick.
Y/n could barely function, struggling to pull the zipper loop up and through the jacket, still she kept going. Her body ran on autopilot, muscle memory taking full control as she silently pulled the bags through the door and held a hand out for minjun to follow. Too occupied in her own thoughts she rushed out of the hotel with urgency, taking long strides towards the cabs that waited outside, only realising she was moving way too fast for Minjun to keep up when his small rushed breaths filled the air. She needed to calm down, she wasn't alone and she had to act like it. Minjun was her responsibility, and she needed to take care of him.
She muttered out an apology, quick, sincere, but short and found herself falling back into the cycle of her own thoughts again. Comfort was a thought far away, but the surety of heading home, caused the racing of her heart to ease just slightly, a dull ache developing in her arm now that she'd finally set down all her bags inside the cab, a cramp settling in.
In that moment, y/n felt the overwhelming feeling of solitude press down in her, honing in from all sides, and the ache of abandonment crept into each corner of her heart. The pain was bitter and fuck, it ran deep.

hi neil, it’s been a while since i’ve talked to you! just wanted to thank you for everything, you are my favorite author (and my moms, and her dads- i guess you are generational) and you’ve been such an inspiration and motivation to me every day. i know everyone says that, but it’s true. i’m in an academic team and we just recently started our regionals competition, and we were told to prepare and memorize a speech on pretty much anything, and surprise, i chose you! well, not you, but i chose to tell why i want to be an author, and you’ve had a pretty big hand in that. i’ll give you a shorter version at the end since it’s pretty long. again, thank you! truly.
When I was a kid, I had always wanted to be a writer. As I grew older, this dream of mine dissipated, seeming too unreliable to be a real career- until recently.
The ‘me’ of my childhood was scattered throughout the United States, leaving a piece of her youth at every new house we lived in. But one constant in my life, regardless of where I was living, was that I was always reading. Books were special to me, and kept me grounded when my life was going unpredictably. Each book was a world of its own, each story a lifeboat in a sea of uncertainty. Books were not just words on paper, they were my home, more than anywhere else. It is because of this that I strongly empathize with this quote from Neil Gaiman’s novel, The Ocean at the End of the Lane: “I’ve lived in books more than I’ve lived anywhere else.”
I am familiar with the quote in two ways. The first being in the way I grew up, living in many places but always finding home in my books. The second being one night, of uncertain longitudes and latitudes, I read my first Neil Gaiman novel- The Ocean at the End of the Lane. He soon became my favorite author.
Years later, my mom had gotten tickets for “An Evening With Neil Gaiman at the Orpheum Theater. It continued to be rescheduled due to covid, but my mom and I held on to our tickets. That evening was all I could ever hope for. He gave us advice, which I’ve kept in my heart ever since. It was that very evening in which I decided I wanted to be on the other side of my passion for reading- I wanted to be the author. With an idol such as mine, how could I not?
I had kept writing in the back of my mind always, and on that night, it resurfaced. I gained my love for reading from my mother, and without it, Neil Gaiman would be a stranger to me, and I never would have rediscovered my passion for writing. Thank you.
as always, with love, ollie :)
You will do brilliantly. Keep going!

(also none of these are proofread LMAO so ignore mistakes)
part 1, part 2, part 4
word count: 3.0k words
warnings: ANGSTTT, language, drugs, alcohol, smoking
It was finally time to depart from your first summer at Saltburn. School was going to start in a week, and you wanted to spend some time relaxing at home before the chaos of your penultimate year in secondary school.
The summer had been a wild yet fun time. You had so much freedom to do whatever you pleased, and you didn’t really know how to spend your time, since you were usually so focused on your academics.
You warmed up to the Catton family quite a lot. You understood you didn’t really fit in, but it was nice to pretend you did. Elspeth had even gifted you one of her old necklaces that probably would have paid for a car if you had sold it.
You and Venetia spent countless hours together; by the poolside, in your rooms, doing each other's nails or makeup, and playing tennis. Although she was a few years older than you, she was like the sister you never had.
As for Felix, your friendship only grew. You were thankful for him, for being so kind to you and welcoming you into a world you had never known before.
And Farleigh. Your relationship with him was… complicated. One moment, you would hurl stupid and immature insults at each other, and the next, you would be having a peaceful conversation. But the latter usually only occured when you were alone with him, which didn’t happen often. He let his guard down when he wasn’t around his family, which you found strange, but you never questioned it.
You were going to miss this place. You had to return to your normal, everyday life as a student with a normal house and normal parents.
“We’re going to miss you dearly, love. We hope you visit again next year,” Elspeth remarked as you all sat around the breakfast table on the patio.
“Yeah. Felix, invite her again,” Venetia nudged her brother as she whispered loudly. Felix grinned and looked at you from across the table.
“So, what’s been your favorite part about your stay?” Elspeth questioned, leaning forward with curiosity.
“Honestly, I can’t even pick. It’s all been amazing. Really.” You said. You meant every single word. But you could’ve actually picked a favorite part, you just didn’t want to admit what, or who it was.
A while later, you were standing at the large front doors with your packed bags in your hands.
Venetia embraced you tightly and you dropped your bags so you could hug her back. “See you next year, hopefully,” She said with a smile after releasing you.
“Yeah. See you.” You nodded and then looked over to Felix who was now also coming in for a hug.
“Bye, mate. I’ll see you at school, alright?” He patted your back as he pulled away and you smiled with a nod.
Farleigh stood farther away, watching the goodbyes at a distance. You stared him down, trying to will him to come over.
“Bye.” He simply said, expressionless. “Bye, Farleigh,” You smiled softly at him. You weren’t sure when the next time you would see him would be. He blinked at you and held your gaze before you turned away as Duncan was opening the doors for you.
“Your cab is waiting outside the gates, miss,” He informed you. You nodded and picked up your bags.
~~~
2 YEARS LATER
It was your first evening at Oxford. You had just arrived and gotten most of your things unpacked, and then you and Felix were headed to the dining hall.
You remembered a few months ago when Felix told you Farleigh would be going to Oxford as well. You didn’t really know what you thought about this. Part of you was interested in seeing him in a different setting, not just at Saltburn during your summer holiday. Was he nicer to people at school? Did he even care about schoolwork?
“I told Farleigh to sit with us,” Felix mentioned as you walked next to him. You nodded. “Okay. How has he been?” You asked. You knew better than to care about him, since the feeling was clearly unrequited. You don’t think he would care if you died a sudden death.
But it was harmless, and only in a friendship kind of way. Or whatever complicated relationship you two had.
“Good, I think,” Felix said. “You know, his mom went to Oxford. In a way, he’ll be able to connect with her. By being here, I mean.” He explained. You could tell it was his attempt at being philosophical. You just nodded and pretended to follow what he was saying.
You both walked into the large dining hall, mini lamps placed on top of the long tables to light the dim, high-ceilinged room.
You found some empty seats and sat down. A few minutes later, Felix had already spotted Farleigh and was waving for him to come over. You followed Felix’s line of sight and saw Farleigh’s familiar coiled hair, and it seemed that maybe he had let it grow a bit longer than usual.
He was actually smiling for once, and it was such a rare sight you had to blink to make sure you weren’t hallucinating.
“Hey,” He grinned as he took the seat on the other side of you, pulling it closer to the table.
You had seen Farleigh earlier this month when you were still at Saltburn, but for some reason, he looked different. Like he grew up, or something. You couldn’t put your finger on what had changed, though.
Sure, he had recently turned 18, shortly before you did. But the whole aura radiating from Farleigh felt different and more mature. Or maybe it was the new designer clothes you had noticed, or the new necklaces and rings he was sporting.
“Hi,” You smiled. You realized you must have been staring, and you quickly glanced away to survey the rest of the students filing into the hall.
You spaced out during the small talk and stared into space, pondering how your first day would go tomorrow.
“Are you going to the party tonight?” Felix nudged you. You glanced up. “Uhh… What party?” You hated seeming clueless, but when it came to this kind of thing, you were.
“You know, to welcome all the first years. Us.” He nodded as if to gesture to everyone else.
“Oh. Right. I don’t know, I want to get some good sleep before tomorrow.” You replied while inspecting your nails and picking away at them.
That statement was half true, half not. You did want to get some well-needed rest, but you were also just terrified of parties and large social gatherings. You could be awkward sometimes, and you were scared of what a real college party would include. Drugs, alcohol… It made you uncomfortable to think about.
“C’mon, please? For me?” Felix gave you the puppy eyes and you sighed. “It’ll be fun,” He reassured you. You looked over to Farleigh. “Are you going?” You asked him.
He looked offended by your question. “Duh,” He answered. You didn’t know why it mattered if he was going or not.
“Ughhh, fine.” You rolled your eyes and facepalmed. Felix grinned brightly. “Yesss,” He whispered.
You couldn’t deny that you were having a good time at the party. You made a few new friends and you were gaining some confidence.
The only problem was that Felix promised you he would stay with you the whole time, since he knew how weary you were with even going in the first place.
And where was he? Nowhere to be seen. You guessed he had run off with some girl already. Hell, within the first ten minutes of you three entering the function, about four girls were already up on him, desperately flirting and twirling their hair.
You were standing in a dark corner when you saw Farleigh approaching you. He had a glass bottle of beer in each of his hands.
“Hey, you want one?” He offered you one of the beers. You were bored out of your mind, so you shrugged and took it. The glass felt nice and cold against your hand.
“Have you seen Felix?” Your eyes darted around nervously. Farleigh shook his head. “Nope. Saw him leaving with some red-head chick, though.” He raised his eyebrows up and down which made you laugh.
He moved to stand next to you against the wall, observing the neon-lit dance floor. “Are you enjoying yourself?” He peered down at you.
You shrugged. “I guess? I’d rather be inside sleeping, though.” He groaned. “You’re so boring. You know why you’re not having fun, right?” He leaned down slightly. You shook your head. “No, enlighten me.”
“You’re not high enough,” He said, a smirk forming on his face. “Farleigh. I’m not gonna get high with you.” You scoffed and took a swig of your beer, wincing a bit at the taste.
“Some guy was giving out joints. It’s weed,” He explained, drawing a small plastic bag of rolled joints out of his pocket.
“Yeah, I’m not gonna just smoke weed from some random guy.” You blew a strand of hair out of your face.
“They’re legit, I swear.” He leaned down to your height and whispered, “I already tried one.”
You shook your head again. “I don’t smoke, you know that.” He stood up straight.
“Just try it. Look, I’m not dead yet. See?” He twirled around and you giggled. “C’mon, we can go out here.” He nodded to the side door.
You just wanted him to stop bothering you, so you let out a sigh. “Okay, fine. Let’s go.” He excitedly spun on his heel and led you both over to the door before holding it open for you.
You stepped into the warm and dense air of the night, glancing around nervously like you might get caught by someone. But who are you kidding, pretty much everyone here smokes and probably does worse.
“Okay. I’ll light it for you. Do you wanna share it?” He asked, pulling out his lighter and flicking it on.
“Yeah.” You didn’t want the commitment of having it all to yourself. He lit the joint and you watched him take a hit. He made eye contact with you the whole time. It seemed simple enough— a short inhale and then exhale.
“You try,” He handed you the joint and you eyed it suspiciously before putting it to your lips. You took maybe too long of a hit and immediately began coughing, smoke billowing out of your mouth.
“Woah, easy..” Farleigh chuckled at your reaction and you felt his hand on the small of your back as you tried to catch your breath.
“You make it look so easy,” You cleared your throat and looked up at him with watery eyes. He smiled smugly at your words.
“Just takes practice,” He told you casually. “Smoking weed is something I’d rather not practice.” Farleigh laughed at your remark and took the joint to take another hit.
“Do you like Felix?” The question came out of the blue and you turned to him.
“What do you mean…?” You lifted an eyebrow as he passed the joint to you. He leaned up against the wall and crossed his arms.
“Like, do you actually enjoy your friendship with him?” He asked. You actually considered the question for a long moment.
“Well, he’s like… the only close friend I have,” You said hesitantly. “I continue to be friends with him because I don’t have a reason not to,” You explained before taking a small hit from the joint.
“And you like the wealth and title that comes with him, yeah?” Farleigh’s words hung in the silence. You knew he was being too nice. It was too good to be true.
“Yeah, I like the summers at Saltburn, but that’s not the reason why I’m friends with him.” Or was it? No. You refused to let yourself get gaslighted by Farleigh. But you began to question your reasoning when you said it out loud.
“I mean, what else does he have to offer?” Farleigh asked as you exhaled the smoke. Why was he suddenly turning against Felix? You thought Farleigh loved Felix. Maybe you had it all wrong.
“He’s nice to me,” You flashed him a glare and he stared back at you, drilling his gaze into yours. “I’m nice to you.” He said in a harsher tone.
“When you want to be,” You shot back, pressing the joint to your lips again, staring out into the darkness.
“What do you have against Felix, anyway?” You broke the short moment of silence and turned to face him.
“Nothing. Forget I ever said anything,” He raised his arms up as if to defend himself. “No, you can’t say weird shit like that and then expect me not to question it,” You handed the joint back to him and headed for the door to go back in. You planned on drinking as much alcohol as possible to show him that you don’t need him to teach you how to have fun.
“Do you even know how to get back to your dorm?” He asked, his brows furrowed. “What do you care?” You scowled at him before going back inside.
Sooner or later, you had downed your whole bottle of beer and then you were doing shots with some random group of girls. You didn’t remember the rest of that night, but at least you ended up in your bed by the morning, even if you had a horrible hangover.
~~~
Sunlight creeps through the window and knocks impatiently on your eyelids. You groan and sit up, opening your eyes to the bright sunrise shining through your curtains,
Memories of yesterday flood back to you. Your drama with Felix, the car ride and visit to your parents with Farleigh, and telling Venetia all about it when you got back.
Felix didn’t get back from London until late last night, so you were waiting to talk to him today.
You don’t want problems between the two of you, but sometimes he’s just so ignorant and out of touch.
A little while after breakfast, you make your way to Felix’s room. He seemed hungover during breakfast, so you wonder if this is going to turn out well.
You hesitate before knocking. “Come in,” He calls. You twist the doorknob and carefully enter. His expression softens slightly at the sight of you. He’s sitting on the edge of his bed with a book in his hands.
“Hey. Can we talk?” You ask quietly. He nods, setting the book down.
“Look, I’m sorry about yesterday. I was in a mood, and I shouldn’t have said those things to you.” Felix starts before you can.
“Okay. But you know why I was mad, right?” You don’t want it to be that easy for him.
You can see the gears turning in his head. “Erm… because I couldn’t give you a ride?” He looks up at you, and you can’t tell if he’s playing dumb or not.
“No, it wasn’t just that. It’s the principle of it, Felix.” You shake your head. “The principle of what?” He asks, standing up.
“It just seems a lot like you care more about your popularity than you care about your best friend,” You explain, your voice shaking a bit. You don’t really like confrontation.
“No, that’s not true. I just-“
“Yes, it is. Ever since we got to Oxford. It’s always been this way. Leaving me alone at parties to go fuck some random girl, or multiple, for that matter.” Your voice is raised now and you can feel the anger rushing through your veins. All the things you’ve always wanted to say, but couldn’t.
“You know what, you should be thankful I even became your friend. Look what I’ve given you.” He gestures to what you’re assuming is the estate as a whole.
You scoff and laugh at his statement. “What you’ve given me? Are you kidding?! I’m not some stray animal off the street, Felix. I’m not homeless. I have parents. I have a home.” You feel tears welling up in your eyes already and that lump in your throat starting to form.
“Then why are you here?” This is the first time you’ve ever heard Felix really raise his voice. You both freeze in the silence and let his words hang in the air.
“You want me to leave? I can leave,” The tears are now falling down your cheeks as you blink. “No, wait-“
But it’s too late. You’re already storming out of his room and back to yours, which is just down the hall.
You see Farleigh standing near the end of the hallway, trying to eavesdrop. He notices your tears and is immediately heading over to you.
You try to get into your room and lock the door before Farleigh can get to you, but you fail.
He guides you into your room, his hand pressed against your back firmly before closing the door with his free hand.
He embraces you in a gentle yet tight hug as you continue to sob. He rests his chin on your head and smooths some of your hair out. He holds you and lets you cry.
Farleigh was right about him. Felix thought he saved you from a horrible life. In reality, you would be fine without him. He was just a simple addition to your life.
You hardly realize the intimate moment that you’re in with Farleigh right now until your sobbing subsides.
You push away from him slightly, hands on his chest as you gaze up at him. You sniffle. “I got stuff on your shirt,” You laugh weakly and point at the wet spot on his shirt.
“It’s okay.” His arms return to his side and you find yourself missing the comfort of his arms around you and embracing you.
“Did you hear what he said?” You ask, wiping your eyes and sniffing again.
“Yeah. Yeah, I did.” He nods. “Are you going to say I told you so?” You smile softly as you wipe the rest of your tears away.
“Do you want me to say I told you so?” He grins down at you, his brown eyes bright with amusement. You shake your head. “No way.” You both laugh, and you think you’ll be okay.

Coriolanus Snow was fourteen years old when he fell in love. The academic year was nearly halfway over, just days away from winter break. Coriolanus hated breaks. His one hot meal a day would be ripped away from him for at least two weeks—longer, perhaps, if the weather turned inclement when school was supposed to pick up again in January. The only good thing about a break was not having to carefully construct his image, to ensure that no one realized that the great house of Snow was falling. But he tried to not pay either issue any mind, choosing to focus instead on the Academy’s trip to the opera house.
It was supposed to be a culture day of sorts. Since the war and the Dark Days, the arts had been slow to return to the Capital. Most of the funding was spent on rebuilding efforts, ensuring that the Capital’s citizens had places to sleep and things to eat. But the Plinth family had been funding the arts steadily over several months since being granted their title, enough so that the opera house could open its doors once every few weeks to hold a performance. Strabo Plinth paid for a Lord’s Room, and insisted that Sejanus’s class be able to attend one such performance.
Coriolanus did not particularly care for the arts. He could see their value, sure, in being able to memorialize parts of history, to show how the public viewed the changes in culture. It was a history lesson for him and little more than that.
His mistake, of course, was muttering that to Sejanus as they took their seats in the front row of the Lord’s Room. Or, rather, his mistake was saying such a thing within your earshot.
“I beg your pardon?” you said, peering around Sejanus.
Coriolanus stiffened, surprised to be called out so publicly. It was one thing for you to question his ideas in the classroom. He didn’t mind that. It kept him sharp. It made him always prepared to provide a solid rebuttal to a counterargument. But this? He didn’t know what to do with this. “I believe our time could be better spent than listening to people sing in a language that we don’t even understand yet.”
“It is remarkable to think that a boy so intelligent could think so lowly of the arts,” you said, turning your nose in the air. “The arts bring us a sense of community. It allows us to come together and understand the way our society functioned and continues to function. It breeds creativity, and with that, innovation. Do you think we would have such impressive advancements if not for people becoming inspired by the beautiful? You think you’ll become a man of logic, of sound mind, but you will be little more than a cynic if you do not appreciate the arts.”
He blinked. Well. He didn’t know how to rebut that. He tried, though, because Snows do not back down from a challenge. “I can understand the value of poetry and prose. But a performance? It seems more gratuitous than anything beneficial to proper society.”
“Perhaps you are of simple mind, then,” you said. You turned your attention to Sejanus. “Are you also simple?”
Heat rose to Coriolanus’s face. He prayed that he did not look as red as he felt. Before Sejanus could answer you, he said, “Are you of simple mind? I can hardly think of a reason to attack someone’s intelligence other than for a lack of a proper argument.”
Rather than looking as embarrassed as Coriolanus felt, you only laughed. “Fair enough, I suppose. How about, you try to find enjoyment in this performance and if you don’t, you can gloat without interruption or criticism.”
“I shall agree to your terms.”
But as the performance began, Coriolanus could hardly focus on anything other than you. How you sat at the edge of your seat. How you propped an arm up on the railing, cradled your face in your palm. The way your eyes seemed to sparkle as you absorbed every note. You were mesmerized and mesmerizing. He couldn’t look away. Coriolanus might not have learned the importance of opera that day, but he certainly realized you were a work of art all your own.
Coriolanus Snow fell in love at fourteen years old in an opera house.
Two weeks later, when the Academy students returned from break, he left a single white rose he begged his Grandma’am for on your desk. You did not know it was from him, but he didn’t seem to mind. Not when you showed the flower to everyone you saw. Not when you wore it so proudly in your hair.
And, now, ten years later, he brought you another rose as you sat curled up in his palace’s library.
You had not yet noticed his presence as he stood several feet away. He didn’t mind, though. Coriolanus fell in love with you when you didn’t even realize he was watching, and he fell further in love with you every moment he had to admire you.
Coriolanus twisted the rose by its stem pinched between his fingers. It was not often that he felt anxious, but it was becoming more frequent. After everything that happened with Sejanus, he found himself becoming paranoid that you might run away. That everything you said that evening was an elaborate ruse and that you were waiting until the last moment to run away to the base Sejanus was stationed at. That, despite his efforts in intercepting Sejanus’s letters to you, one might have slipped through and you were just biding your time.
Still, he felt the need to apologize to you. He was not sure how truthful you had been when you said you intended to tell him of Sejanus’s plan. He wanted to believe it, to be sure. But Coriolanus had been angry enough to murder Sejanus then and there, and he was sure you realized that. Coriolanus was worried that he scared you, that he might have gone a hair too far in ensuring you would not be taken away. That one day soon he might wake to news that you were gone—running off to a life with Sejanus or a life away from him, he wasn’t sure.
And yet, here you were. You had come to the palace unchaperoned, of your own accord. You had done so every day this week. You let him kiss you, and you kissed him. You let him hold you. He did not go further than that—nothing more than passionate kisses and longing touches. Not because he did not desire it, but because he wanted to know you desired it. It meant little to him to have you as a wife in name. He wanted to drive you as insane as you drove him.
Your head lifted as his footsteps echoed across the floor. You watched him as he approached, knelt down before you, and plucked the book from your hands. He marked the page you were on and set it aside, replacing the book with the rose.
You stared at the rose, admiring its pure white petals. “Thank you, Coryo,” you said.
Oh, how he loved for you to say his name. He wished, of course, for it to arise under different circumstances, but he loved it nonetheless.
You reached down, a hand cupping his chin, and pulled him up to meet your lips. Coriolanus kissed you softly, as if you might break, before he moved away and took a seat next to you. He pulled you into his side, his arm snaked around your waist as your head fell against his chest. Your legs curled up under you. You burrowed yourself further into him.
“The ton might soon think we have held a secret wedding if you continue spending your every waking hour here, petal,” he teased. He wouldn’t mind if they thought that. Anything to keep the ton from trying to take you away.
“The ton would believe we lived on the moon if someone was convincing enough.”
He laughed and shook his head. It was nice for you to tease but not direct it at him. “I am pleased you spend so much time here now, though.”
“It…feels safer.”
Oh. Oh, he liked that. How long had he been hoping you would say something like this? Coriolanus lifted your hand to his lips and pressed a kiss to your knuckles. As much as he liked the push and pull with you, this was better. This was nicer. This was the sort of life he deserved.
“Yeah?”
“I don’t feel like I have to pretend to be someone else. When I am with the rest of the ton, I have to still act like a respectable young lady. At home, I can’t even read in peace. But when I am here, I can read and call you horrible names without judgment.”
Coriolanus snorted. “Oh, I judge you for the names you call me.”
“But you don’t stop me either.”
“No, I suppose I don’t.”
And why would he? He loved your wit. Even if there were times he wished you would tone it down, he appreciated that you didn’t put up with bullshit. Coriolanus had little respect for people that allowed others to walk all over them. In his view, most of the ton was like that. You, however, were a beautiful, shining exception.
Coriolanus glanced around the room, making sure that Coriolanus the Cat was not around. Whenever he tried to kiss you, that damned cat would appear out of nowhere to try to claw his face off. (Or, as you put, “play with him.”) Coriolanus wasn’t sure if you were in cahoots with Sejanus, but he was certain that you were in leagues with the cat. Once he was sure the cat was not preparing for attack, Coriolanus cupped your face in his hands and pulled you in for a kiss.
“You can call me anything, and I will still adore you,” he mumbled against your lips. “I love—OW!”
You pulled away with a laugh as Coriolanus the Cat pounced on top of his head. You reached for the cat, cradling the beast in your arms, cooing at it. “We don’t attack our papa, Coriolanus,” you said, pressing a kiss to the top of its head. “He doesn’t deserve that, does he?”
Coriolanus glowered at the cat. “I don’t think that’s my son. I think he’s a bastard.”
You swatted at his chest. “Don’t be rude, he can hear you!”
Coriolanus leaned down and whispered in the cat’s face, “bastard,” before pulling away before the cat could claw his face off. But, while the cat was trapped in your arms, he did take an opportunity to steal another kiss, grinning as you giggled against his lips.
Hmm. He could get used to this.

𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓲𝓷 𝓗𝓮𝓪𝓭𝓬𝓪𝓷𝓸𝓷𝓼- 𝖕𝖆𝖗𝖙 3
Part 3! We finally get to Wars, Sky, and Wind! WIND IS PLATONIC ONLY DON'T BE GROSS
Warnings: possible suggestive themes (AGAIN NOT FOR WIND), angst, mental health topics, scars/wounds
⋆。°✩
𝖜𝖆𝖗𝖗𝖎𝖔𝖗𝖘
21-22 years old, one of the captain's of the Hylian Army. Zelda offered him a higher rank (general I'm assuming) and a position on the Hylian Council, but he refused almost right away.
Pretty tall, an inch above Twilight, but still shorter than Time
Blonde hair, shaggy but in a fashionable way. Idk y'all, he makes it work
Leaner muscle, double pierced lobes, wears chain linked earrings when at fromal events but usually sticks to his signature blue hoops
Can't read Hylian that well, but can understand/speak several languages, such as Twili (Twi is kinda jealous)
The strategist of the group. He was always under a time limit during the war, so he knows how to handle a tricky situation quickly and efficiently most of the time
Went to school in his developmental years, though was recruited at around 14-15 because he was way better in the fighting field than in academics. It worked out for him though, so he's not complaining.
As much as he cares about appearance and fighting for his country, he hates balls/formal events. The fake interactions and smiles make him sweat and he usually leaves an hour into them. He'll suck it up if you're there with him though
Closest to Time, Wild and Legend ironically enough. Wild and himself can relate on the aspect of being in the Hylian army, and they typically talk about how their experience was. Legend and him mostly bicker, but its all fun n' games. Time and Wars are essentially the higher-ups, though nobody actually says that, its just been silently established.
Super wary of Y/n, especially with his expriences with other dimensions and eras. He was honestly convinced you were part of Cia's plan or the shadow, since your timing seemed a little convenient, but you've gained his trust little by little, maybe a little too much.
Unlike his usual demeanor with women, he doesn't outwardly flirt with our protagonist. Yes, he throws a few quips here and there when appropriate, but he respects Y/n. He doesn't see them as everyone else. He has them on a pedestal towering over everyone
Has scars from the war, duh. He was mostly up close in the front lines, so a lot of slashes and nicks. Has a pretty bad burn on his left arm from Volga's fire, it's healed but still pretty scarred on his skin.
𝖘𝖐𝖞
20-21 years old, the "Chosen One".
Average height, light freckles across his face and shoulders, he was living right under the sun, you can't tell me he doesn't have freckles!!
Also... sleeper build. I said it. He has a sleeper build and boy when Y/n first sees him shirtless?? AWOOGA-
I headcanon him as having a gigantic triforce insignia tattoo all over his upper back. It was part of his ceremonial return, more on that later.
Suprisingly very school smart for falling asleep in class all the time. Sun was and still is very jealous of his natural smarts.
Has his lobes pierced, wears small red hoops. He wants to get more stacked piercings, a loftwing feather to match with Y/n in the future, who knows?
Doesn't have the biggest sweetest tooth, but he does love pastires of almost any kind. Pumpkin ones are his favorites, though Y/n's cinnamon rolls are quickly climbing up the ladder.
One of the most conflicted about Hylia and the whole "following the goddess" thing. He s=has insomnia because of it, causes him a lot of anxiety.
He was very depressed after his journey was finished, as he didn't identify as anything else besides a hero, and since his purpose was completed, he was nobody.
Struggled a lot with isolation and self-deprecation right up until joining the Chain. He still struggles with it, despite it being years later.
After meeting you and learning about your similar struggles of identity and burden's of mental health, he felt so much less lonely. Sure the Chain were his brothers and they knew what he had been through, you really understood him. You went through the same thing, you knew what it felt like.
Close to Hyrule and Four, but probably most attached to Y/n, even before the romantic feelings set in. He's got a big heart.
Biggest sleepyhead. Will sleep almost anywhere, especially if he's exhausted.
Hobbies include woodworking and playing his harp, but recently took up making a piece of jewelry for Y/n. He's been working on it for months, adventuring prevents him from working on it too long. He wants to give it to you during the winter festival, when you're all his.
𝖜𝖎𝖓𝖉
little shit
...
I would say I'm kidding, but he is :3
around 13 I wanna say, it's only been about a year since his adventure.
Short, duh, but his growth spurt is kicking in. He's catching up to Y/n, and you are not excited to be the shortest in a few years.
Sandy blonde hair, a bit wavy. Somehow always has a tiny bit of sand in it, no matter how many times he washes his hair.
If you think Twi or Hyrule had the biggest sweet tooth? HELL NO
If Wind ever found out about energy drinks or soda/pop, we're done for
Not the best in terms of speaking and reading Hylian, though being a pirate has helped him develop his own colorful vocabulary
Very skilled with up close combat, though the others hardly ever let him be on the front offensive
Similar to Wild, likes taking pics of anything (mostly weird faces that the others make)
Y/n and him clicked INSTANTLY. He might've not trusted them immediately, but they were best friends super fast. Wind has helped you get through homesickness by tellng you his own stories about his home.
"Captain" of Tetra's ship, or that's what he believes
Everyone knows Tetra's in charge though
Struggles a bit with alcoholism, being a pirate and all kinda leads you to be reliant on alcohol. The boys are trying to help him with it, but its the main coping skills he uses when after a high stress situation or he's feeling lost mentally.
Everyone sees him as a little brother, despite how much of a little shit he is >:3c

My interpretation of Paul Holden 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Because @crow2222 asked. And by the way I'm so sorry its so bad I lowkey kind of rushed it 🙁
Warning, homos 💔💔🙅🙅❌❌⛔⛔🚨🚨🚨🚨🍅🍅🚫🚫❌❌⛔⛔⛔🤷🤷🙅🙅. And small reference to child abuse. But like very small 😔 🙏
And I'm actually so tired I almost passed out writing this so ignore all the major mistakaes
Okay so first off, I do NOT see Paul as the one who called off the whole thing with him and darry, nor the only reason they had issues. Which they didn't really have but that's a whole other thing.
I like to see him as someone who mirrors darry sort of on the opposite side. Darry is seen as Soc like even tho he is known as a greaser. Shorter hair then ur average greaser, no hair gel, actually follows most laws (he needs too but yk) and doing very well in school and academics in general. But still having many greaser qualities and being a greaser in general.
Meanwhile Paul, a Soc, has longer hair, breaks a few more laws (many socs jump greasers, drink and smoke underage ,and that's it. But Paul would steal, vandalize, etc) but wont jump greasers. Rumbles sure but jumping them in general is a no go for him. Considering his best friend is one.
He also does just well enough in school to pass classes and stay on the football team. Not trying all that much. If it weren't for his parents forcing and pressuring him and his (I hc him to have one) little sister encourageing him he would have probably failed everything then get kicked out. His father is also just an asshole and his mom was so emotionally neglectful it was crazy
I see him as some of the socs safe person for if anything happens similar to darry. Hiding from whatever? Paul. Want a party? Paul. Just wanna hang out that isn't out or at your house? Paul.
His house is basically the hangout spot bc his parents are barely home and when they are they don't pay to much attention bc they act good with them around. Even tho it was rare socs would go there anyway.
Now to Paul and darry. Darry was pauls safe person. If his dad beat him or threatened to kick him out, Darry was the person he would go too. And they were close for years. But It was darry who called off the whatever they had. Paul was the one who was fine with what they had. He was fine keeping it a secret. And he's probably given up a thing or too just for Darry. And darry did care, but he just couldn't do it anymore. In fact, he had kissed many girls when they were dating, claiming its just to hide what they had but realistically he just wanted to try to “get rid of his homosexuality” as its against god. (he literally went to church in the south in the 60s..) but Paul ignored it. Ofc it bothered him but Paul didn't really see it as bad to do bc maybe darry really was trying to hide it?
Darry didn't hate him but when he broke up with Paul. Paul began to dislike him a lot more. Ofc still not jumping greasers but just hated darry. He felt like darry never really cared and everything he did was useless. Ofc darry said they could still be friends like they had been for years but Paul just wanted to leave.
This is why Paul looked visibly angry at darry during the rumble and why darry had no reaction during the rumble. Paul was pissed and he had every right to be. And darry knew this. They still fought, fist to face, body, whatever. But secretly, even though Paul wanted to refuse, the second Darry would make any motive to wanna get back together, Paul would have dropped anything in a heartbeat.

Remus John Lupin ☾₊ ⊹:
A collection of my favourite headcannons and some of my own personal ones relating to Moony.

"Starman - David Bowie"

James ver
Background: ════ ⋆★⋆
Hope Lupin (nee) Howell, his mother originates from Southeastern Wales where she grew up on her family farm which had been in their family for generations.
Lyall Lupin grew up in an orphanage in England, which is why Remus knows none of his paternal family.
Up until he was four years old, the Lupin family resided in a flat on the outskirts of London within good distance to the Ministry.
After Remus was bitten, he and his family were forced to bounce around for a few years as his parents were afraid of his secret getting out.
Hope inherited her parents' old farm from back in Wales, this surprised her as they had not seen her parents since Remus had been bitten from constantly being on the move. The family of three had to travel back to Wales to sort out affairs and plan the funeral. After the funeral they remained on the farm to sort out family affairs, while Hope and Remus tried to convince Lyall to let them stay. Lyall was hesitant to the idea at first, however he could not deny the hope of giving his family a home after years of not having one. The look of pure childlike joy in Remus’ eyes was one Lyall had longed to see again, and he finally had it back. That mere look is what managed to send him over the edge and sign the documents and take ownership of the farm.
Lyall continued his work remotely and would commute occasionally when needed, to try to make the family extra cash when needed. Hope would go into town to run errands and collect the supplies, but Remus remained on the farm.
When Remus’ came of schooling age, he was not allowed to attend the school in the village because of his condition. His parents feared for what would happen, so they decided against it. However, Hope being a muggle still wanted Remus to receive a non magical education. Out of love for her son Hope quit her job to become Remus’s teacher and be a stay at home mom for him. Hope took classes to get her qualifications and began homeschooling Remus.
Lyall had to take on more odd jobs to support the family with Hope staying home with Remus and to support the demands of the farm.
Hope taught Remus how to care for the farm animals and in turn he developed a deep love for animals.
Besides subjects such as Math, English and Welsh, Hope taught Remus how to bake, cook and clean to give him a well rounded education.
On special occasions, Lyall took Remus to the village bookstore for a day out. This was one of the rare times where he was allowed to leave the farm. They wanted to avoid any clues to his condition or that Lyall was a wizard.
They were poor in money, but rich in love.
Hope and Lyall did everything they could to protect their son and show him he was loved despite it all. However, even as a young boy he developed his self loathing tendencies because he knew how people took to his kind.
Despite being only four at the time, Remus still vaguely remembers the incident and what his father’s views on werewolves were before it. Remus knows how much his father regrets it, which is why he has never brought it up as he doesn't want him to view himself as a bad father.
Appearance: ════ ⋆★⋆
As per canon we know Remus has various self inflicted scars across his body from his wolf.
His eyes are honey brown, and appear golden in the sun almost as if there is gold shining directly through his irises.
Curls on the end of hair hair give it a fluffy look, the colour is a sandy, very warm toned brown.
Standing between 6’2-6’5 feet, he is taller than all the marauders
However his posture is terrible making him appear several inches shorter than he actually is.
His body is skinny with long limbs and torso with a slim waist another result of his condition
He has a academic aesthetic bordering on grandpa vibes.
He layers his clothes to hide his body, and make it look distorted in shape.
Characteristics: ════ ⋆★⋆
He is a clinical smoker, and goes through multiple packs of cigarettes, especially when he’s stressed
Despite being well mannered and polite, he is quite vulgar more so than any of the marauders. He swears like its a second language. Which always surprises people given his approach with teachers.
He’s highly protective of his loved ones, but he’s more subtle about it.
However, when the full moon is close he is far from subtle
He’s not all that much into PDA unless it’s a special occasion or if the full moon is close. Otherwise he just prefers small things such as interwinding hands.
All of his friends own a sweater of his or more
Introverted but extroverted in the presence of his friends
He’s book smart, and highly intelligent but most of his knowledge is due to how much he reads
He has to put a lot of work if he wants to maintain his good grades
Fun Facts: ════ ⋆★⋆
The library is one of his favourite places
His mother taught him how to cook and bake
He makes the best worlds brownies
Uses sarcasm as a coping mechanism
He’d love to work in a bookstore, or do anything related to literature
He didn’t have any friends growing up so he found comfort in his books
His first year of Hogwarts his suitcase was majorly filled with books as he thought he would need extra because no one would be his friend after they learned of his condition
In later years he still brought his books, but not as many as he knew he would have friends to spend time with.
He’s left handed
He draws on his shoes
His clothes are thrifted and vintage
Secretly he writes stories but never shows them to others
He visits his ma whenever he can
He has the boys do movie nights with him so he can educate them about muggle culture
He’s a film geek as much as he is a book nerd
The clothes he wears are always muted colours and colours that he can see
Since began bitten as a child, over a span of multiple years he began to develop dichromatic vision
This is why he wears muted colours, browns, beige and ect as he always knows what they are
Sometimes he has to ask the marauders for confirmation on colours
He also prefers these colours as they help him blend in more so he can avoid attention
He’s always involved in pranks but never gets caught

I never wanted his attention.
In fact, I never wanted anybody’s attention.
Mrs. Finch stood at the front of the classroom. Most of the students were busy-lost in their own conversations as she cleared her throat multiple times before finally losing it when she slammed her hand down on the table before her.
The room went silent.
“There we go.” she said, with a lopsided smile-though the annoyance was clear in her gaze.
“Sorry, Mrs. Finch, didn’t mean to ruffle up your feathers.” Gojo’s smooth voice lilted from the center of the classroom.
The classroom broke out in laughter. It felt almost exaggerated to Ara’s ears, who merely continued to stare straight at Mrs. Finch through half-lidded eyes. Nothing about Gojo Satoru was amusing to her but ever since he moved to our town freshman year of high school, he’s owned the students’ attention ever since. His popularity only grew by leaps and bounds over the years.
Maybe it was his looks, his name, his athletic skill–she didn’t want to know or care. There were enough rich, insolent snobs at this academy so he fit right in.
“Satoru, as much as I love your bird jokes,” Mrs. Finch’s voice dripped with sarcasm, “The time to stop your chirping is now.”
Gojo merely chuckled into his hand.
She held up a piece of paper, “Alright, as your homeroom teacher I am expected to share this with you all. As you are all aware, you are seniors. Next year, most of you will be happily hopping off to whichever college or university you applied to–hopefully somewhere far, far away,” -her eyes lingering on Gojo, who merely smiled brightly in return- “But as your high school careers almost come to an end, there is one more thing I know many students are curious to know about. Your rank.”
“Obviously, since this is the beginning of the school year there is a chance that this rank could change but here is the academic ranking of your graduating class as of today. I’m only going to be reading off twenty students' names on this list because the top twenty students are the only ones who will be specially commemorated on graduation day. As well as the valedictorian and salutatorian–who will also be allowed to say speeches. If you are not on this list and would like to know your rank, please speak to me after.”
She cleared her throat, “Alright, first in rank is–”
Gojo leaned back in his seat, a subtle smirk gracing his lips as he awaited his name.
“Ara Natsuna.”
Suddenly, everyone’s head faced her and she wished she didn’t exist. She stared down at her hands on the desk-countenance neutral-but if anyone was looking closely they would notice that her shoulders were incredibly tense; her elbows were almost digging into the desk from nerves.
A few claps arose, along with a few murmurs before Mrs. Finch continued.
“Second in ranking, Satoru Gojo.”
The classroom erupted in cheer. His best friend, Geto-who was seated right behind him-leaned forward in his seat to playfully tousle Gojo’s platinum hair. But Gojo barely responded, only offering his fellow fans a half-hearted smile while nonchalantly crossing his arms.
As Mrs. Finch continued to list off names, this growing uneasiness nagged at her. She didn’t understand–of course, she was expecting a high rank. Maybe first rank was a bit of a surprise but she knew she’d earned it.
So what is this feeling?
She hadn’t made eye contact with anyone ever since her name was announced, still continuing to diligently stare at her linked hands on the desk as if they were the most interesting thing in the world.
But she raised her head to find the source of this sixth sense bugging at her.
Her eyes were met with his crystalline, cerulean blue eyes–staring at her with absolutely no emotion. It was the most serious she had ever seen him. Something about his stare was so intense, she just froze.
If it was possible for eyes to swallow someone up, she was sure she would’ve disintegrated there and then.
Her brows furrowed quizzically before she quickly looked away. She swallowed hard, shaking her head imperceptibly–in attempt to ignore her buzzing nerves.
That was the first time he looked at me.
I wish it was the last.
She closed her locker room door and there he was, leaning against the locker beside her own as if he owned it. She nearly jumped.
He smiled. She wasn’t unfamiliar with his dazzling smile. It was pasted all over the schools’ walls, newspaper and television. She didn’t need to see it all up close but… she’d be lying if she said it wasn’t more handsome in person.
“Hi Ara.”
He was quite bold for using her first name already.
But it was back–that buzzing sensation that whispered along her skin when she’d first locked eyes with him. Now that he was close and peering at her again-with what she couldn’t help but identify as false geniality-she immediately identified what the rapidly growing knot in her stomach was telling her.
It was a sense of foreboding.
Obviously, he was trouble. Anyone with brain cells would know that. He was the kind of trouble that easily drew in girls and only made the guys want to join in on his fun.
But that wasn’t what her instincts were telling her. Her instincts were telling her to stay far, far away from him. That he wasn’t just coming to her for some fun, lighthearted conversation–or whatever he was trying to come across as.
He was here for something else.
And if there was one thing Ara trusted, it was her gut feeling.
Besides, she couldn’t imagine anything useful actually coming out of his glossy lips anyway.
He raised a white eyebrow, his smile only widening as she stared.
Just as he opened his mouth, she bent down and lifted her backpack–hastily throwing it over her shoulder before turning around. She headed towards the school exit, she couldn’t miss her bus.
“What-!” his astonished voice echoed in the empty hallway, “Is it because I called you by your first name?”
She didn’t bother turning around, only sending him a glance when she’d turned into another hall. It seems his friends had caught up to him–or maybe they’d been nearby. Maybe him talking to her was a set-up, she couldn’t know.
His friends didn’t act like it’d been a set up though, they didn’t even look at her. Like everyone else.
Despite his friends being engaged in quite the boisterous conversation, his eyes were locked on her. His smile nowhere to be seen.
I should’ve switched schools then.
She yawned before closing her locker door and nearly going into cardiac arrest when she saw him leaning on the locker next hers again.
His white hair was left ruffled-as usual-and the crisp blue blazer that was the school’s boy uniform suited him a lot more than 99% of the school’s male population.
He smiled, “Good Morning, Natsuna.” he greeted.
She glanced around the hall to see that there were only a few people down the end of the hallway. Most had gone into their homerooms already–although it was technically a little early. There were still five minutes until all the students were required to be in homeroom.
He let out an amused chuckle, “Are you embarrassed to be seen with me?” he asked, disbelief coating his tone.
She shot him a look before readjusting her backpack strap over shoulder. She was surprised he was still bothering with her.
She turned around and headed towards their homeroom. He followed her.
“Why won’t you talk to me? I haven’t even done anything to you–have I?” he asked, genuinely curious.
Suddenly she stopped before their homeroom door. His tall frame nearly bumped into her.
“What’re you stopping for?” he asked.
She turned around and her eyes widened as she looked up at him. She’d already known he was tall but up close, it was even more obvious. At 5’3, he stood at a considerable height before her–being a foot taller.
He tilted his head, his blazing blue eyes curious as he searched her face.
He raised his hand and right before he could make contact, she quickly jumped back–the door behind her suddenly swinging open and Geto stepped out. She scurried out of his way.
“Satoru, there you are. Get in here.” Geto reached out and grabbed Gojo’s arm, pulling him into homeroom.
Gojo glanced back at her, “Wait–”
“What were you doin’ standing out there by yourself..” Geto’s voice trailed off when the homeroom door shut behind them.
She sighed in relief. There was no way she was going to walk into homeroom with Gojo. She was sure to be barraged with questions or–more likely, get weird looks from the other girls. She didn’t need that attention.
She stepped out of her last class a little later than usual. She had stopped to ask the teacher a question but then had gotten wrapped into a full blown conversation instead. It was one of those elderly teachers that students rarely talked to so she felt bad attempting to cut the conversation short.
But she had to make sure she didn’t miss the bus.
Just as she stepped out of the classroom, Gojo stood outside her class.
How the hel–
“Hi, Natsuna.” he greeted, energetically. His folded arms dropping as she walked right past him.
He followed behind her.
“I found out a lot about you today.”
She glanced around at the handful of students in the hall. A few glanced their way, giving curious looks. A student from the basketball team yelled out Gojo’s name in greeting.
“Yo!” Gojo responded, quickly dapping him up before catching up to her once more.
She continued to religiously ignore him as she walked.
“Don’t you want to hear what I found out?” he pressed before easily walking in stride with her–despite her fast walking.
When she didn’t respond, he continued. “Your birthday is in November—a month before mine. You like the color purple–pastel purple, specifically. Good taste, by the way. I look great in that color–”
She hastily put in her locker code before swinging it open. He was still going on as he leaned against the locker beside hers.
“You’ve lived in this town since forever. You don’t do any extracurriculars. You have one friend, Millie, who’s surprisingly talkative—”
She slammed her locker door shut.
He raised a brow, “Oo, feisty.”
She glanced at him-scowl on her lips until her eyes widened–Fuck, I’m gonna be late for the bus.
She suddenly turned on her heel and ran.
“Wait–”
But she was too far down the hall by the time he called out. Wasn’t like she was going to listen to him anyway.
He sighed before waving his hand and speaking-in a rather cherry voice, “I’ll tell what more I learned tomorrow!”
Is he serious? Can he not take a hint?
She was too annoyed by her tardiness to care much until she ran outside to see the buses leaving one by one. Her heart dropped.
No, no, no.
Her eyes widened as she saw her bus was one of the first in the line up to leave. Her heart dropped to stomach.
No, no, no.
But it was too late. Looks like there was no other choice…
Her hand was shaky as she reached into her pocket to take out her phone. She whispered a quick prayer before holding the phone to her ear. He picked up on the second ring.
“Hey, Baba..”
It was just as she expected.
“Home, School, Home, School. It’s such a simple fucking routine–why don’t you get it by now? Just get on the damn bus on time!”
He slammed the door shut behind himself. She sobbed as she crawled into a ball on her bed.
“Can’t do anything fucking right!” His yelling audible through the door.
She continued to cry on the bed. Her stomach hurt from where her father had kicked her. Her cheek pounding from his slap. This was why she hated asking for favors. Her Dad never took it well. She was always a nuisance.
Always.
And yet he expected nothing but perfection from her. Getting an A- on an assignment would most likely result in the same.
Can’t do anything fucking right.
His harsh words echoed in her mind. It seemed nothing she did ever made him happy. She’d wanted to tell him that she was ranked first in her grade but the moment she stepped into his car the atmosphere was suffocating. She knew it was gonna be, but she thought… she thought maybe she could dampen the mood by telling him.
But, boy, had she been wrong. The verbal abuse started the second she stepped into the car.
Then the physical abuse when they reached home.
Now he was off back to work–probably going to be back in the evening. Her Mom was still out of the country; visiting her lovely, accolade-ridden family that she tried so hard to impress despite being a housewife.
It wouldn’t have even made a difference had she been here. She took his abuse all the same–turning a blind eye whenever he did the same to her.
Divorce is not an option. Her Mom would constantly say, back in the day when Ara used to beg on her knees for her to leave him.
Her body shook as she sobbed. She grabbed the pillow and screamed into it, until her throat was dry and scratchy. Til the pain made her numb to emotion.
She entered homeroom early, in attempt to avoid the white haired boy that always seemed to find her at her locker somehow. She wasn’t in the mood to have someone talk at her today–or ever, in fact.
But, to her surprise, Geto was in homeroom too. His dark hair up in his typical smooth yet slightly messy knot, with a few strands hovering over his forehead. His broad shoulders always seemed so pronounced in the school uniform. He sat completely relaxed in his seat, phone in hand.
His dark eyes flickered up to her when she entered.
She swallowed, quickly looking away before heading to her seat. She didn’t need to look to know he was watching her.
She sat in her seat, hastily pulling out one of the paperback books that she was supposed to read for an assignment. She’d already finished reading the assigned chapters but she wanted to get ahead.
As she flipped through the book to find where she left off, Geto’s deep voice suddenly rang out, “Satoru is curious about you.”
She froze, her fingers tightening around the page she was about to flip. She’d spoken to Geto before, he’d been in some of her classes so they’d randomly get paired together sometimes. There wasn’t much between them beyond that.
She glanced over at him, “Tell him to leave me alon–”
The door suddenly swung open and Gojo entered, his hands over his knees as he panted.
“Suguru, have you seen–” his piercing blue eyes suddenly landed on her and then at Geto.
He froze when he realized that he’d heard a feminine voice speaking when he’d entered the room. And since Geto was the only other person here…
A frown graced his features, “So you can talk to him but not to me?” he demanded.
Before she felt required to answer his absurd question, people began to pour into the room–including Mrs. Finch.
“Well, well, well, look who’s early.” she grumbled as she eyed Gojo. Ara couldn’t help but feel as though her and Mrs.Finch were the only two people who viewed Gojo the same–a pest.
For once, he didn’t take the bait and instead sat down in his seat with a huff. A pout on his lips as he crossed his arms.
Ara narrowed her eyes at the sight before dutifully turning back to read her book.
Her thoughts wandered as she questioned what his deal was..
It was subtle at first.
Ara walked out of the cafeteria, her tray of food in hand. She never sat in the cafeteria. She didn’t have any friends so what was the point. Well–Millie didn’t have the same lunch time as her this year and even if she did, it was sometimes easier to eat by herself.
Millie’s friends didn’t talk about things she could relate to anyway. Millie was funner to talk to one on one–but that was just her opinion.
Lost in her thoughts, she didn’t notice when she’d turned the corner in the hall and bumped into someone.
“Shit.” she muttered, as her tray of food fell straight to the floor.
“Oh fuck.. I’m so sorry.”
She looked up to see Austin. He was in her Anatomy class. They hadn’t spoken too much before but… she would be lying if she said she didn’t find him interesting. He was kinda like her, reserved, but maybe a little more sociable. Puberty had also hit him like a truck.
He’d grown much taller and he seemed to be filling out a bit more. His hair had grown out to his shoulders and it looked good, especially with that low man-bun hairstyle he was sporting nowadays.
She’d never gain the courage to tell him that though.
They both bent down to reach for the tray at the same time. Their hands touched.
“Oh.” he muttered, while they both withdrew their hands.
He glanced at her to see that she looked semi-embarrassed. The moment she caught his eye she gave him a small smile.
“Y-you’re fine.” she reassured him–though she wished she had the courage to tell him that she meant that in more than one way.
He blinked, “You sure? I could buy you lunch if you want? I feel bad.”
She shook her head, “Don’t worry about it.”
She glanced down at the mess on the floor, “I’ll just go get the custodian.”
“Wait, no–I’ll do that. It’s the least I can do after wasting your lunch.” he said.
Just as he turned to head off, he suddenly turned back.
“A-are you sure I can’t buy you anything? Seriously,” he fished out a five dollar bill from his pocket, “Please take this and at least get something from the vending machine.”
She raised her hands slightly and shook them, “Don’t worry about it.”
He outstretched his hand with the bill, “Please, just take it. It’ll make me feel like less of an ass.”
She laughed slightly, “You’re not an ass.”
He waved the five dollar bill in his hand once more and she eyed it wearily–before snatching it.
“Fine.”
There was a tinge of shyness in the attractive smile that spread across his lips, “Thanks, Ara.”
She pocketed the five dollar bill with a shake of her head. He was nicer than she thought. After he joined the Basketball team last year she expected him to adopt the typical jock attitude but it seemed he was still himself.
She watched him jog off to find a custodian.
She turned slightly to brush off any crumbs that may have fallen on her uniform but it seemed she was in the clear.
After giving her uniform one last dust off, she glanced up. A frown on her lips. There it was again. That feeling…
That intense nagging feeling in the back of her mind, as if trying to tell her something in a language that she couldn’t understand. She’d felt it before but… Gosh, it was so uncomfortable. Her stomach flip flopped with anxiety as she glanced around for the source–
Her eyes widened when she looked down the end of the hall to see a familiar tall, white-haired boy staring directly at her. He stood as still as a statue.
The nauseous feeling somehow disappeared the second she locked eyes with him.
She blinked before frowning. Ugh, why’d he have to show up?
She turned and headed towards the library, internally praying that the vending machine in the library still worked.
Austin didn’t come to school the next day.
“A-austin?” she said–the following day when he’d come back to class.
He stopped in the midst of packing his books before slowly looking at her. The bell had just rang moments prior, everyone had quickly exited the classroom but them.
His glance was short-almost hesitant-as he froze.
She eyed the bandage wrapped around his hand before asking, “Are you okay? How’d that happen?”
“Broke my hand during basketball practice.” he mumbled while packing his bag at a rather unwarranted pace.
“Oh–well, um, I hope you get better.”
“Thanks.” he said, curtly, before throwing his backpack over one shoulder and fast-walking out of the classroom.
He never spoke to me again.
Just as she adjusted her backpack straps over her shoulders, a white flower was suddenly placed in the open locker before her.
Her eyes widened before she looked over to see Gojo beside her.
His white hair appeared damp, as if he’d just showered. His indigo blue blazer folded haphazardly over his shoulder while the top few buttons of his dress-shirt were left unbuttoned. His proximity didn’t leave her much choice but to inhale his magnetic cologne.
“White hibiscus flowers, your favorite right?”
She glanced back at the single white flower that now rested atop her books in her locker. It was still attached to its stem. It was her favorite–specifically ones with red in the middle, which was exactly the kind he brought.
She liked the look of the red center against the white because it reminded her how the heart was the center of the soul; how emotions make one’s body impure–so it bleeds through its core to the rest of the flower.
At her dumbfounded expression, he smiled.
“I’ve been learning. Millie’s been telling me all about you.”
Ara’s jaw locked.
His hands slipped into his pockets, “Your favorite classes are physics and art. Your favorite teacher is Mrs. Lindsor—I don’t know how,” his nose scrunched disapprovingly, “You like cats. You’ve never been in a relationship before. You’re parents are kinda strict—“
Suddenly he was shoved into the lockers. Her hands gripping his collar as she stared at him with a stern expression.
Her face twisted with agitation as she spat, “Stop talking to my friend about me.”
His eyes widened as he held his hands up, “She speaks.”
Her expression became more enraged as the corner of his lip curled into an attractive grin. Her hands clenched into fists at his collar.
He tilted his head, “Oh? You want to hit me?”
His tongue deftly ran over his bottom lip, “Go ahead.”
When she didn’t move, he only egged her on further, “C’mon, hit me. Do whatever you want.”
A flicker of confusion flashed along her face. As much as she was tempted to… she didn’t trust him. Not one bit.
Why does he want me to? Her grip on his shirt loosened in hesitance.
Suddenly something malicious flashed within his eccentric eyes and before she knew it, he was cupping her face in his hands–forcing her to keep her eyes on him.
“Do whatever you want so I can do whatever I want.”
His words melted like butter on her skin–but if butter was warm, why did she feel so cold? Why did goosebumps arise on her skin?
Her insides churned as she tore herself away from him.
“Stop doing this bullshit. It’s not cute, a-and leave my friend out of this.”
She hated how he looked at her like that–as if she were the most amusing thing he’d ever laid eyes on, “I wouldn’t have to talk to her if you talked to me, you know.”
She squinted, “Are you okay? Seriously-what are you getting out of this?”
“You.” he said simply, as if that were the most logical answer, “I want you.”
Her eyes narrowed further–this had to be some kind of joke. “You’re not funny.” she murmured.
He bent over slightly as he laughed. His laugh was airy and boyish–the kind of laugh that one could easily be drawn to, if she hadn’t found something heavily off about it.
“I’m not joking, Ara.”
He stood up straight after picking his fallen blazer off of the floor. When she’d shoved him, it had slipped from its haphazard placement over his shoulder.
He looked down at her, his blue eyes incredibly mystifying as he hunched before her to look her eye to eye–his index finger holding the collar of his blazer over his shoulder while his other hand was wedged in his pocket.
“Ara.. I can call you that now, right? Now that we’re talkin’ “
She stumbled backward, “We’re not talking. Just leave me alone.”
He smirked, “You’ll come around.”
The confidence oozing from his tone would’ve infuriated her, if it didn’t make her feel unsettled to the bone.
She didn’t understand. Where was that likable, comedic Gojo that everyone else saw? Why was this version of him the one she had to meet? Even if she told anyone about this–no one, literally no one–would believe her.
It wasn’t like she had any friends to tell anyway. Well–Millie maybe but Millie herself was now talking to him.
She struggled to find her words, “I- I said, leave me alone.”
He leaned back, taking his hand out of his pocket to loosen his tie as he sighed, “Why are you makin’ this so hard for me.”
She ignored him, stepping around him to close her locker door shut but he stuck his arm out–firmly holding the locker door open by its top edge.
“Fine.” he looked down at her, his blue eyes blazing with mischief as she appeared startled.
He was so close to her, it was hard to breathe.
His voice dropped an octave lower as he added, “But I expect something in return.”
His eyes dropped to her neck when he saw her visibly swallow. The playfulness in his demeanor shifted into something more dominating.
He raised a brow as she stepped back.
“Don’t.”
“Why not?”
“There’s nothing for me to give you.”
He smirked, closing her locker door for her, “Lies.”
She’d missed her bus again. It was an accident–truly, a fucking accident. It wasn’t her fault that her art teacher wanted her to stay after to talk to her about future art-related career paths when they merely were supposed to chat about her recent artwork.
She writhed in pain on her bed, clutching her gut. It felt bruised from the amount of times her Father had kicked her.
It’s not fair, it’s not fair, it’s not fair.
She was always her father’s punching bag. Every, damn, time.
She was so sick and tired of it. So angry. She did everything right, everything. But one mistake–one simple fucking mistake–would get him so incredibly triggered. It gave her whiplash everytime.
She was finally at her breaking point. She was done. She was done wallowing in this pitiful fucking mess of her toxic-ass family. Done watching her Mom let her Dad treat them both like pieces of garbage. Tired of nothing changing. She was done.
She just wanted to do something she wanted. Just this once.
She’d talked to Millie on the bus this morning–the only time they ever seemed to talk nowadays but she had mentioned something going on tonight. It was Friday so, there had to be something.
Ara cringed as she reached over to grab her phone from her nightstand. She texted Millie.
A: hey can i come over?
M: r u kidding
M: hell yes, are u even allowed to tho?
A: im gonna sneak out
M: omg no way
M: im like hella shocked rn but hold on, imma use my bros car to pick u up
A: wait don’t stop in front of my house
A: i’m gonna wait at the end of the block
M: bet
A: thanks, lmk when ur here
M: omg im excited, does this mean your coming out tn?
A: yep
M: STOP im hype
M: ok, im omw
Ara put the phone down and sat up. She stared at her wrecked room in silence. It hadn’t been messy until her father had dragged her by the hair into her room from the car. He liked to dramatically throw her shit across the room in the midst of his rages.
She’d gotten used to cleaning his messes, but not tonight.
She grabbed her wallet, phone and keys–stuffing them all into her sweatpants pocket before chewing at her bottom lip diligently as she thought.
The front and back door wasn’t an option, her father had cameras. She’d been contemplating the garage but the longer she thought about it the more hesitant she grew. What if my Dad hears it open? She couldn’t risk it.
She glanced at her window. It looked like that would be her best bet.
She swallowed hard-forcing her nerves down-as she went to the window and shoved it open. She physically winced at the strength that simple action had taken her.
She gave her room one last look before hopping out of the window.
Milie ran the straightener over her hair, “I still can’t believe your here-like what the actual fuck.”
Ara laughed, she was already drunk out of her mind. She’d drunk a couple White Claws and that seemed to be all it took–it was her first time drinking after all.
Millie’s eyes caught Ara’s laugh in the mirror before them. Mille set the straightener down before running her hands through Ara’s hair–smoothing it out further.
“You should smile more often. Your smile’s really pretty.”
Ara set down her white claw before wobblily standing up, “Yeah, yeah. So who’s place are we going tonight?”
Millie smirked, “Nanami’s. His house parties are the fucking best so you picked the best night to sneak out. Nina and her man are gonna pick us up and then we all are gonna go.”
“Nanami Kento?” Ara questioned, “He likes to party?”
“Shoko probably convinced him cuz his house has a heated outdoor pool.”
Ara shrugged, bending over to pick up her White claw again and take another sip. Millie sat at the vanity now, leaning close to the mirror as she applied her lip gloss.
She smacked her lips together, “So.. are you planning on getting your first kiss tonight?”
Ara tilted her head back and finished her canned drink in one gulp. She set the drink down with a giggle.
“Maybe,” she said, before locking eyes with Millie through the mirror and they both laughed.
Millie swiveled around in her stool, “About time, girl! What’re you gonna do if some guy wants to go further?”
She shrugged, “I’m down. Honestly, I’m down to lose my virginity tonight for all I care, I just wanna have fun.”
Millie laughed, “Look at you today! I’m-like-shocked. Are you sure you're Ara? Or did you get possessed?”
“I didn’t do my Physics homework yet.” she mumbled distractedly to herself.
Mille chuckled, now applying extra powder to her face, “Girl, it’s Friday. You have the whole weekend. But please make sure you do it and send it to me cuz there’s no way I’m gonna do it.”
They stood on the porch of Nanami’s mansion. Voices and music could be heard blasting within the house from outside. Ara’s gaze was stuck on the perfect landscaping done on Nanami’s front yard. Her eyes lingering on the white hibiscus flower bushes that were planted outside his house.
They looked so pretty under the moonlight.
Millie gently touched Ara’s arm, catching her attention.
Mille grinned before squealing, “I’m so excited for you to experience your first party.”
Roland snorted, “No one’s gonna know that it’s you.”
His dark eyes looked her up and down, “Honestly, I still don’t believe it.”
Nina placed her hand on her boyfriend's chest. Her and Roland had been dating for two years now. He’d driven them all here–and as much as she was grateful for the ride, she didn’t appreciate his leering gaze at her body, especially with Nina right in front of him.
Nina remained oblivious, “Listen, Straight A students need to have some fun too. No one stays boring forever.”
Sober Ara might’ve had different words to say but intoxicated Ara merely laughed, “Sure, exactly that.”
Roland continued to glance at her curiously until the door swung open.
Toji stood in the doorway, “Hey, kids. Sorry to keep you waitin’ “
Toji was older than them by a few years–only because he refused to graduate for some reason. Either he was too dumb or just didn’t care. If there was one thing everyone knew he was good at-it was pulling women-it was football. He was captain of the football team for a reason.
He dapped Roland up as he let him and Nina enter. Roland was also on the football team.
“Who’re you?” he suddenly asked as Ara stepped forward.
His narrow green eyes looked her up and down–even if he was expressionless it felt as though he were eating her up with his eyes.
She knew she looked good–even if none of the clothes were hers. Millie had completely transformed her look with just a few simple pieces.
She wore a light blue, lace-y tube top that showcased quite a bit of her bare hips and navel. The fitted top also outlined the shape of her rather full breasts, which she’d typically kept hidden underneath the blazer of her uniform. She knew what attention they would draw on her smaller frame so she never wore her uniform without the blazer.
Then for bottoms she wore a simple tight black mini-skirt that revealed her smooth legs. Thank god Millie had extra razors so she’d shaved at her house. And for shoes, she wore her typical black Converses–unfortunately Millie and her weren’t the same shoe size. (a/n: i swear i didn't do this to make her basic. she ends up having to walk home so i jus didn't want my girl to suffer :,) & yES ik she's not real but idc idc)
Millie took her hand, “It’s Ara Natsuna, dumbass.”
She saw Toji’s brows draw together in confusion before his eyes widened, “You’re shitting me. Quiet girl?”
Before she had the chance to respond, Millie was suddenly pulling her inside.
Millie spoke as she dragged her through the mass of people, “He was totally gonna try chat you up–”
Millie suddenly stopped, “Wait, did you want him to?”
Ara shook her head. Don’t get her wrong, Toji was attractive as hell, but she’d rather not start her party debut with someone that passed around.
Though, that might just be how she felt right now. Who knows where the night will take her?
Suddenly a few of Millie’s friends called out her name and they both were thrown into a mass of greeting people. People were incredibly astonished to see her–continuously making stupid comments asking if she’d decided to leave the books behind. Joke or not, it was incredibly shallow.
They acted like being hot and smart wasn’t possible at the same time. It was annoying–but she was too drunk to care.
Millie suddenly ran off and Ara stumbled slightly as she went after her–but then froze in her steps.
Millie had run to Gojo, who was sitting on a couch's armrest. His long limbs easily held him up as he reached over to return Millie’s side hug.
“Millie Mills.” he greeted in a light, singsong tone.
He wore a simple black tee shirt with matching pants. Despite the simpleness of the outfit, his shirt fit just right on his lean frame–tightening around his muscular waist and shoulders when he raised his hand to pat Mille’s head.
Her throat went dry.
Millie and her had already talked about Gojo. She tried to tell her to not talk to him and Millie seemed to half heartedly agree–using lame excuses like he’s fun to talk to or that he’s hot. She didn’t know how to tell her that Gojo talking to her out of the blue wasn’t a coincidence–even if he possibly did like her as a friend or whatnot now, he was not to be trusted.
Millie said she didn't like like him but the way she was pressing her chest against him displayed otherwise.
Millie had tried to tell her to give him a chance–eagerly telling her on their bus rides that Gojo kept asking about her but Ara refused. She didn’t want to hear one-fucking-second of it. She didn’t care if Gojo never asked about a girl before. She didn’t care if Gojo mostly fucked cheerleaders. She didn’t care if he hadn’t been in a relationship in the past four years since he moved here.
He was weird, annoying and obnoxious—and that was that.
The vibe she got off of him was nowhere near safe either. She honestly didn’t even know how Millie felt comfortable hugging him.
Millie went on her tiptoes to whisper something in his ear and he bent his head lower to make it easier for her.
I found out what she whispered in his ear later...
Suddenly his head snapped up and their eyes locked.
Despite being a distance away, the ominous feeling within her gut still arose the moment his intricate crystal-like eyes met hers. She had no choice but to freeze under his gaze when he gave her body a slow perusal.
If Toji had been eating her up with his eyes before, Gojo’s eyes were devouring her–his attentive gaze ravaging each piece of her unveiled body with such greed, she couldn’t take it. She felt like she was standing naked under his gaze. There was something so vile and unhinged about the dark look that had slipped across his face; she suddenly felt like she shouldn’t have come here.
His expression hadn’t even changed much, his jaw simply clenching and his hand on Millie’s head suddenly slid down to the back of her neck.
Millie jumped slightly when Gojo’s hand tightened around her nape.
His eyes never left Ara’s as he spoke, “I thought you were lying–tellin’ me what I wanted to hear.”
Millie glanced at him, a bit nervous at the new terseness of his tone, “W-why would I do that?” she said, with a slightly timid, childish laugh.
“I’m not a liar.” Millie added, playfully, before placing a hand on Gojo’s thigh to steady herself.
That was all Ara needed to see to know that Millie still hadn’t cut off contact with him. Her insides twisted with disgust. She’d known that the other girl hadn’t fully agreed to stop talking to him but–Christ, it just looked so low.
Knowing that he was interested in her ‘friend’ and that her ‘friend’ found him creepy and still getting all close to him? What was even the point?
Ara stepped back-keeping the emotions hidden from her face as she subtly waved at Millie–signaling that she was gonna go elsewhere. She hadn’t talked to Gojo in a week and she didn’t plan on changing that now. Millie gave her a thumbs up.
Gojo’s eyes followed her before she disappeared somewhere into the kitchen.
Suddenly, someone nudged his knee.
Gojo turned his head to see Geto looking at him curiously. Geto sat, fully relaxed, in the exorbitant couch that he was sitting on the armrest of.
“What is it?” Geto asked while withdrawing the joint from his mouth.
“She’s here.” Millie responded, her attempt at including herself in the group of lethally attractive men before her.
“Who’s she?” Nanami asked-dryly-from the loveseat beside the couch that Geto and Gojo occupied. He didn’t look up from his phone.
Before Geto could respond, Gojo was suddenly questioning Millie, “You convinced her to come here?” The seriousness in his tone made the other boys go quiet.
Nanami glanced up from his phone.
Millie shook her head, “No, she wanted to come herself.”
“Thought you said her parents were strict.”
She shrugged, “Dunno. She snuck out.”
Gojo released her neck, a look of contemplation passing over his features as he rubbed his chin, “Somethings up.”
“Isn’t there always.” Millie mused, while playing with his fingers.
He raised the hand Millie was fiddling with to her face, his long fingers easily covering its entirety as he pushed her face back.
“Satoru! My lip gloss.” she exclaimed as he stood up. He gave her a wink before disappearing off into the throng of people.
She sat down on the armrest Gojo had just left from with a huff.
Geto didn’t spare her a glance. Instead, he indirectly addressed Nanami by saying, “He’s mad.”
“Satoru?” Nanami questioned, glancing up from his phone again.
Geto nodded.
“How do you know?” Nanami asked, “He looked normal to me.”’
Geto shrugged–not knowing how to expand on it because he wasn’t sure how he himself knew, but he was more than sure of it.
Toji arrived with three beers in his hands. He popped a cap open with his teeth before throwing himself back on the loveseat beside Nanami.
“Jus saw the sexiest chick I’ve seen in a while.. Her tits were-phew.” Toji shook his head before taking a swig.
“If you're talking about Ara, leave her alone.” Millie bit back.
“Oh? That a challenge?” He smirked at Millie. They’d fucked once–okay, maybe more than once—but, like every girl who tried, she couldn’t tie him down.
“Don’t even try it.” Geto warned.
If this was how parties were like, she never wanted it to end.
Loud music pounded through the pristine, wide-ceiling walls of Nanami’s house. The strong scent of weed, alcohol and a plethora of expensive colognes and perfume in the air. Voices—so much chatter, laughter and familiar faces. Everyone seemed so chill and.. happy.
She handed the joint back to the guy beside her with a loud cough—more coughing followed as she continued to breathe.
“Shit, is this your first time?” he asked, a hint of a smile on his lips.
She turned her head back to see Noel. She’d always seen him around school but they barely interacted—he wasn’t in the same classes as her. Besides, he hung with a completely different crowd. He was on the swim team. And, gosh, he was hot.
She didn’t know how she managed to grab his attention when she’d merely been walking around the outdoor pool. He was sitting in one of the surrounding lounge chairs and asked if she wanted to ‘cyph’.
She’d agreed—despite having no clue what that meant. It didn’t take her long to realize that it was just another term for smoking w33d. (a/n: idk if tumblr censors words or not so imma jus keep spelling it like that. y'all know what i mean anyway~)
They now sat shoulder to shoulder on the lounge chair. He was laughing beside her.
She frowned once her coughing subsided, “Are you laughing at me?”
He shook his head, pieces of his dark brown hair falling over his forehead in the process.
“Nah, I should’ve figured. I never seen you at one of these parties before.”
She wasn’t sure if it was drugs or alcohol in her system but god, the subtle grin on his lips was so hot. He had one of those smiles that made it hard to look away from his lips.
No wonder Millie hooked up with him sophomore year.
Something about that thought made her pry her eyes away.
His hand came up to her back, “You want another hit?”
She glanced back at him, shaking her head, “I need a minute. My throat feels so..” she didn’t know how to describe it.
He laughed once more, running his hand down her back reassuringly.
“I know. My first time smoking was like that too. I was coughing like a bitch.”
He then asked her, “Do you want a drink?”
“Millie said not to drink the stuff here.”
His subtle grin returned, “She’s probably right… is that who you came with? Millie?”
She nodded.
“How do you know her?”
“I met her on the bus.” They’d always sat next to each other since kindergarten.
“That’s cool.” he dropped his hand from her back, and offered her his joint, “You wanna hold onto this for me while I go get us some drinks?”
She took it from his hand with a nod.
As he stood up he noticed the look of disappointment on her face. Though, he didn’t know the reasoning behind it. She was still thinking about Millie—her one and only friend, who never took her word seriously.
“Aw, don’t look like that,” he bent down to give her a light kiss on the cheek.
He ruffled the top of her hair, “I’ll be right back.”
She offered him a small smile before watching him walk off.
The front door slammed shut—loud enough to be heard over the music. Everyone in the mansion paused for a second as people began to glance around and murmur.
Nanami jumped up from the loveseat, “The hell was that?”
Geto and Toji stood up as well.
Gojo suddenly appeared before them. His white hair more disheveled than usual as he smoothed down his black shirt. There was a hint of a bruise forming on his cheekbone.
Geto stepped towards him, “What happened?” he demanded.
“Oh, I just kicked Noel out.” his tone oddly light.
He shrugged before looking at Nanami, “I caught him tryna steal somethin’ in your Mommy’s room.”
“Noel?” Nanami questioned. “He wouldn’t do that.”
Nanami was captain of the swim team. He’d spent a considerable amount of time with Noel, who was on his team.
Something in Gojo’s eyes shifted as he stared at Nanami—the lightheartedness in his tone moments prior gone, “Are you doubting me?”
Toji’s eyes widened before he took another swig of beer.
Nanami’s brows furrowed until Gojo suddenly threw his head back in laughter.
He placed a hand on Nanami’s shoulder, giving it a good squeeze before leaning close. Geto’s eyes lingered on the red marks along Gojo’s knuckles.
“Don’t worry, Nanamiiin, I took care of it,” he tilted his head, “You can scold him all you want whenever you see him at practice.”
He released Nanami’s shoulder with a bright smirk on his lips.
Nanami eyed him, “Just don’t slam my door.”
Gojo held his hands up-as if he were instructed to do so by the police-before walking backwards haphazardly.
He wriggled his fingers playfully, “No promises.”
Ara watched the girls play in the pool with a bored expression. They looked like they were having so much fun.
What’s taking him so long?
She looked down at the joint in her hand. She’d taken a couple hits–even if it made her cough quite a bit, but she couldn’t help but wonder where Noel had gone. He should’ve been here by now.
She picked up his joint and lighter with a frown before walking around the pool to head back inside the house. Her drunk self too unaware of her surroundings to notice the many lingering eyes on her as she passed.
She entered the mansion, heading to the kitchen to see if Noel was there.
Her eyes scanned the spacious kitchen in awe. It had to be the biggest kitchen she’d ever seen. Whoever designed it’s interior managed to merge a modern yet home-y feel perfectly. Its red, cream and dark brown color scheme also gave a sort of regal appeal.
She stumbled over to the nearest canvas hung on the wall. It was huge. It showcased a beautiful view of vast hills and a sunset colored sky. Her fingers gently ran over the painting, only for her eyes to widen when she realized it was actually hand-painted, not printed. Her eyes widening further when she saw an elegant black signature at the painting's bottom right corner.
Who knows how much this thing costs.
“Natsuna? No way.”
She turned her head to see Jaemin. He wore a black wife beater, showing off the small tattoos that marked his tan collarbones and toned arms. They never spoke before but she’d be lying if she said his wolf-cut didn’t suit him.
She raised a brow, “You know my name?”
He laughed, “Of course. We’ve been going to the same school since forever.”
She turned around fully, letting her back lean against the wall as she absentmindedly played with a strand of her hair.
“I guess.. I look hot enough for you to speak to me now.” she stated, dryly-the words slipping off her tongue without a second thought. Alcohol was truly something else.
He chuckled as he drew closer, “Pft, you were always hot. I liked your little quiet, mysterious girl look.”
A laugh escaped her lips as she repeated, “Quiet, mysterious girl look?”
She placed her hand on his chest when he stood directly in front of her. He bent his head low to touch her forehead with his. Whatever his cologne was-it was entirely too addicting.
He raised his hand with a red solo cup to her cheek. His knuckles skimming the side of her face as he spoke, “You always look like you wanna be left alone or else I woulda bothered you a long time ago.”
She smirked wryly. “Sure.”
He returned her smirk with one of his own, “Let me prove it–”
Suddenly his phone buzzed, and he froze. He held her gaze a second longer before glancing down between them, at the phone in his hand.
He shook his head subtly, “Gotta get more drinks.”
He patted her hip, “Stay right here.”
She nodded.
He gave her a little smirk before walking off.
“Damn Gojo, don’t you got your lil lackeys around for this?” Jaemin grumbled to himself.
He didn’t mind Gojo at all—in fact, he actually kinda liked the guy-but it wasn’t like they were tight or anything. The only reason why he decided to ‘listen’ was because Gojo never asked him for a favor before. He figured it was a once in a blue moon typa thing. Hell, could’ve even been a drunk text. He didn’t care, he just wanted to see Nanami’s family’s wine cellar.
He walked downstairs, glancing around at the movie theater room before him.
“Fuck, what damn part of the basement am I at now.”
He walked further into the room, past the large screen, towards the drinks bar. He leaned on the counter to glance around, only to spot empty champagne flutes instead of bottles.
He frowned before spotting the open double door beside the mini bar.
He pushed himself off the counter and walked into the wide wine cellar. He whistled.
He walked up to one of the bottles and easily plucked one out.
“Holy shit, 18 year old Scotch?” he gaped, “Shit probably tastes like ass.”
He carefully placed it back.
“Too bad Gojo wants beer.” he muttered, though he wasn’t really complaining.
But where the hell is the be—Oh.
He spotted the mini circular, blue, window that was stuck into a door in the wall. How could he forget? Nanami’s infamous walk-in freezer.
He pulled open the door and walked inside.
Goosebumps immediately rose on his skin the second he stepped within. It was neatly arranged and brightly lit. He walked further inside and spotted the untouched stack of canned beer on the shelf.
“Bless.” he muttered before reaching out to grab a couple.
Just as he juggled a few cans in his hands, the freezer door slammed shut.
His head snapped around, eyes widening before he dropped all the cans in his hands and ran to the door. He tried the handle before slamming his hands onto the door.
“YO! Hello?! Open this shit up!” he hollered, while glancing through the mini window. He saw no one.
At first he’d thought it was a stupid prank from one of his boys who might’ve followed him into the basement but… there was no one.
“HELLO?!!” he yelled once more, looking through the window with more intensity.
He didn’t understand how the door could’ve closed if someone didn’t pull it shut—he assumed it may have been an auto-lock timer on the door or something.
He broke out in a cold sweat when he realized no one could hear him. Not over the loud ass music.
His hand went to pocket to check for his phone. Maybe he could call—
“Fuck!” he hollered as he harshly patted his empty pockets.
He’d set his phone down on one of the shelves in the wine cellar when he’d grabbed that aged Scotch.
His breathing slowed when realization hit him like a truck. No phone. No one to hear him. No one in the basement.
If he didn’t get help soon, he was gonna freeze.
And it didn’t help that he was wearing a wife beater.
Of course I had to wear a fucking wife beater to-fucking-day.
He clenched his teeth, running his hands quickly over his arms. The cold was starting to settle in, alongside a large dose of panic.
His eyes dilated in fear before he slammed his hands against the freezer doors once more.
“SOMEONE!!! HELP!! GET ME OUT— HELP!!”
In the midst of his panic, a shot of hope suddenly zipped up his spine.
Gojo. That’s right—Gojo!
Gojo had been the one to text him ‘Yo yo, get more beer from the basement will ya¿ tyyy ;)’ so there was a chance Gojo would notice that he was gone. That he didn’t come back with drinks.
Gojo would help him—Gojo would remember him.. right?
Jaemin’s teeth began to chatter.
“Fuck!” he hugged himself once more before throwing his whole body against the freezer door. It didn’t budge.
“HELP!! SOMEONE HELP ME OUTTA HERE!!!”
He grabbed the phone from the shelf.
A smirk graced his lips, “Too easy.”
He was counting on the weak internet connection in Nanami’s wine cellar to-at least-delay Jaemin from contacting others. Or his phone to shut down from the freezer’s low temperature by the time he realized he could call someone. Jaemin wasn’t exactly the brightest guy.
But this. This was so much better.
He chuckled to himself as he walked through the dimly lit theater. Tossing the phone back and forth within his hands as he easily made his way back to the main floor from Nanami’s multi-level basement.
Just as he rejoined the boisterous party, he spotted a large fish tank installed within the wall.
He wandered over, bending over to peer at the various koi fish inside. Several of the multi-colored fish bounded over–their eager mouths opening and closing as they bumped into the glass, expecting food.
“Hey guys, miss me?” he mused.
He tapped the corner of the fish tank with his knuckle three times.
The fish tank slowly retracted from the wall. The fish all swam to the top. Their eager mouths bobbing through the water.
He smirked as he dropped the phone within the fish tank’s clear blue waters.
“Keep this safe for me, will ya?”
Ara stood in the kitchen, growing more irritated by the second.
Where is Jaemin? Or Noel?
She crossed her arms. Did I really get ditched by two guys in the same night?
Despite that possibility, for some reason her gut feeling told her that that wasn’t it.
She sighed, glancing down at her hand. She still had Noel’s joint and lighter. She decided to take another hit.
She coughed—having inhaled a little too fast. The woozy feeling that followed made her obnoxious coughing worth it.
She’d never felt so relaxed before. It was almost too relaxed. Relaxed enough that it almost felt wrong.
Everything was so enhanced it was absolutely riveting. The music. The colors. The voices. Maybe it was a good thing she’d never tried w33d until now—she saw exactly why people could get addicted. Even if the smell wasn’t exactly pleasant.
Just as she raised the joint to her lips again, a new crowd of people entered the kitchen. Rambunctious as ever.
She spotted Arman. She knew he was a close friend of Noel’s. They both were on the swim team.
She impulsively stepped up to him, “Hey-“
Before she could get another word in she was interrupted.
Arman’s eyes widened, “Holy shit—Natsuna?”
She immediately reddened. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes, instead she smiled slightly.
“That’s me.”
He glanced at the joint in her hand, “Wait, you smoke too? Damn, girl. Double agent, for real.”
She was too high to care about his little comments. Quite frankly she’d been hearing it so much tonight it was getting boring.
“I don’t smoke. Today was my first time.”
He raised a brow, “Really?”
He eyed her joint, “Then where’d you get that from?”
“Noel. Do you know where he is?”
Arman’s brows furrowed. He seemed completely lost in thought, as if it was taking him a lot of brain cells to think.
“I don’t know, I think he left.” he finally slurred out.
“He left?” she questioned, surprised.
“Yeah, some dude told me he got kicked out but I don’t know. He didn’t respond to my texts.”
“Kicked out? What did he do?”
He didn’t answer, instead he reached into his cargo pants and shuffled out his phone from his pocket.
He handed her his phone—showing her the screen of the several, horribly misspelled texts that he’d sent Noel. It seemed Noel had left him on delivered.
She sighed, handing the phone back to him.
“Thanks.”
Suddenly a moment of clarity seemed to pass over Arman’s eyes.
He clasped her arm, “Wait, was Noel your ride here?”
She blinked, too drunk to recall, “I.. I don’t know.”
“Shit,” he let go of her arm, “Let me know if you need a ride home.”
She laughed, her unfiltered thoughts slipping off her tongue, “There’s no way I’m sitting in the same car as you.”
“What?” a hint of a dashing smile revealed itself, “Why not?”
“Because do you see yourself? You're drunk as shit.”
He threw his head back, laughing a little too loosely. She couldn’t help but laugh while watching him.
He set his eyes back on her, “And you think you’re not?”
Her brows furrowed, “I think.. I’m sober enough.”
“If you’re sober then we’re all sober.”
She rolled her eyes, “Ha ha.”
Arman threw his arm around her shoulder, “You’re staying with me.”
Arman had introduced her to a few of his friends. It took her a millisecond to forget their names and faces.
His hand was in hers as they walked through the swarm of people. Her legs hurt from how much they’d walked around.
It’d been fun though, exploring the mansion with him and his friends. She almost hoped that she would remember it.
The next thing she knew she was being tugged and suddenly she was on someone’s lap.
She glanced over to see Arman sitting on a loveseat. His deeper, tan skin glowed handsomely underneath the colorful lights. It only emphasized his dashing, perfect-toothed smile. She couldn’t help but compare his smile to a Disney Prince.
She’d rarely seen him around at school. He was a junior but he was undoubtedly attractive. His jet black hair was slightly outgrown in that rugged way, with a few strands hovering over his forehead.
She attempted to move his hair off of his forehead only for it to fall right back in place.
She let out a laugh.
“You’re really pretty.” he blurted.
She glanced at him. Into his dark eyes, that were surrounded by-jealousy inducing-lengthy lashes.
She placed her hands on his shoulders.
Her voice wavered, suddenly feeling shy, “Yeah?”
He nodded, his hands sliding around her waist—drawing her closer. Their faces millimeters apart.
“You.. don’t like Noel right?” he asked, sounding almost nervous.
She laughed a bit, “I just met him today.”
Their noses nudged into each other and he smirked, “Then.. he shouldn’t mind, right?”
She smiled a bit, “I don’t think he’ll mind..”
His smirk widened as their lips barely brushed against each others, “He won’t.”
She bit her lower lip, her tone playful, “He won’t?”
“He won’t.” he responded, gruffly before crashing his lips into hers.
Her first kiss.
She was too drunk-high-crossed to know what she was doing. She pressed her lips into his—merely trying to mimic his movements. His lips tasted of alcohol.
His hands were touching her all over. Sliding up the curve of her waist, grabbing her hips and even fondling one of her boobs. His thumb rubbing against one of her nipples through her top.
She moaned against his lips.
His hand slid to her thigh, moving her leg over his hard-on through his jeans. A jolt of nerves suddenly shot up her spine.
She broke the kiss. She was out of breath and her face felt hot.
Suddenly, an ice-cold voice sounded from somewhere near them, “You guys should get a room.”
They both glanced over to see Gojo standing in front of them, drink in hand.
His expression was stone-cold. His bright blue eyes latching onto hers and for some reason, she knew something was wrong. Very wrong.
Suddenly a wildly handsome, playful smile spread across his lips. To others the sight must’ve been nothing short of appealing but it felt nothing but menacing to her.
She swallowed, her throat dry.
“Gojo!” Arman greeted, friendly.
They fist bumped.
“You jealous?” Arman teased.
His blazing blue eyes slid over to Arman, his smile widening. She didn’t miss the way his fingers tightened around his glass.
“More than you know.” he mused, airily. “As much as I’d love to watch you two go at it out here, Nanami would freak. Better take it to his Mom’s room. Maybe you’ll get lucky and find some toys in there.”
Arman snorted humorously, “You’re fucked.”
Suddenly Gojo grasped her chin, forcing her to look up at him.
“Not as fucked as she is.”
That amused smile still pasted on his lips. But his eyes—she could feel the darkness swimming within them despite how blazingly blue they were. They were frigid with something so prominent she wondered how no one else saw it.
She immediately felt her body tense under his touch. She shoved his hand off of her.
His smile twisted into a wicked grin. She didn’t miss the hard edge to his curled lips.
She tugged at Arman’s hand, “Lets go.”
She wanted to get away from him. Far, far away from him.
Arman stood up, patting Gojo’s shoulder as he chuckled. Everything seemed to be funny to Arman. She couldn’t help but notice that the boys were also close in height.
“Shhh, bro.” he joked along with him. Not realizing that they were talking about completely different things.
Gojo merely winked before pressing his drink into Arman’s chest.
“One for the road?” he offered.
“Hell yeah.” Arman took the drink out of his hand and tilted his head back—downing it all in one go.
Gojo whistled as Arman handed the empty glass back to him.
Gojo lightly punched his arm, “I knew I liked you. Go have fun.”
Arman grinned, “You know I will.”
They both shared a chuckle before Arman faced her. His arms slipped around her waist.
He placed a couple light kisses on her neck, but she was stiller than stone. Her eyes were latched onto Gojo’s face—whose smile was slowly slipping away by the second.
She quickly turned away from him and faced Arman. A soft, hesitant smile on her lips.
He returned her smile with one of his own, “You wanna go upstairs?”
“S-sure.”
He pecked her cheek once more before slipping his hand through hers. He led them through the swarm of people once more.
She hated that she felt Gojo’s eyes on her back. The feeling made her shiver.
She refused to glance back.
They got lost trying to find the upstairs like twice. Only to realize they’d walked past it multiple times because the stairs were not well lit.
A few people stood at the bottom of the stairwell. Talking and chatting while her and Arman laughed quietly as they walked past them up the steps.
The group eyed them as they walked past.
Her and Arman had passed that group multiple times when they’d gotten lost so she could only imagine how odd they looked to them. Watching them go in circles around the house again and again.
She was a complete ball of giggles as they climbed up the spiral glass staircase.
He flashed her a subtle smile, before poking her.
“Shhh, keep it down, missy.” he teased her.
She almost broke out in another fit of giggles until he suddenly stopped.
He released her hand to hold onto the railing. His eyes were wide.
Her brows furrowed as she peeked up at him. She stood on the same step as him.
“Are you okay?” she asked once she noticed him look somewhat off.
He was sweating bullets.
The next thing she knew he turned his face aside and he was retching all over the steps, liquid pouring out.
Her hands went to her mouth as he stumbled down a couple steps, flimsily holding onto the railing for some balance.
He looked up at her, she stood a few steps atop him.
His eyes were bloodshot, face blotchy, his hair slick with sweat. His shirt was stained with the dark liquid of his vomit. All he’d vomited out was liquor.
He raised his foot, as if attempting to climb up one more step only to release the railing and go staggering backwards. The people at the end of steps yelled and moved out of the way as he crash landed into the floor.
A few people hadn’t moved out in time and managed to get hit by his rather tall frame, but now he lay sprawled on the floor. His red eyes wide open, arms splayed out, completely still.
His head moved slightly, as if trying to turn his face aside—only for white foam to start pouring out from his lips. His body began to convulse.
“Arman!” she screamed, running down the steps.
She dropped to her knees, by his side. She stared at him, worry consuming her as she held her hands out—unsure what to do.
She needed to find Millie. Millie might be sober enough to help her figure out this situation.
She stood up shakily. Her knees wobbly with terror as she looked down at Arman’s convulsing body. People’s shouts and murmurs all white noise to her.
More and more people seemed to gather around him.
She swiftly pushed her way through the crowd only to bump into an incredibly hard chest.
Her body went cold.
She looked up to see Gojo’s eyes already on her. She swore something in his eyes crackled, like blue flames.
His fingers grazed her forearm before grasping her. His large hand easily encapsulated the entirety of her elbow, “Go on. Find another plaything. I can do worse.”
The underlying threat veiled by his darkly charming smirk made goosebumps break across her skin. Her throat went dry in terror.
Her eyes widened as it clicked, “You… it was you..”
Noel. Jaemin. Arman. He’d done something to them.
He tilted his head, strands of his white hair becoming more disheveled in the process.
He raised a white brow as he waited for her to complete her response. His dangerous smile only widening.
The confidence sweeping off of him unsettled her to bone—enough to make her choke on her words.
“What did you do?” she whispered in shock.
“Nothing I regret.”
She stepped back, shoving his hand off of her.
She cupped her elbow-where his hand had been moments ago. Her skin still buzzed from the aftermath of their contact.
“What did you do to them?” she asked, her voice shaky.
His eyes bounced with amusement as she stared at him in absolute horror. The feeling of fear coursing within her only amplified by the drugs and alcohol in her body.
“What did you do to Arman?” she demanded.
His hand slipped out of his pocket, revealing a little zip lock baggie of pills. Some of the pills were crushed, leaving a powdery residue on the sides of the bag.
She eyed the bag. He caught the unsureness in her eyes.
“You know what this is?” he asked.
She shook her head.
“Molly.”
Her eyes widened—especially when she remembered Arman had downed the drink Gojo gave him without a second's hesitance.
Who knows how much he put in there.
“Y-you’re sick.”
He chuckled—chuckled.
The faint sound of sirens pierced through the music. It seemed someone had called the ambulance.
“This is nothing.”
I wish he was lying.
“He’s seizing on the floor.” she sputtered.
“And?”
Her heartbeat stopped—her eyes instinctively meeting his once more. The smirk on his lips had dulled some, but his eyes. There was almost an ethereal glow to them—but instead of finding it beautiful, she found it deeply disturbing.
“You aren’t his to touch.”
She was speechless. The uneasy feeling in her gut pulsed through her—urging her-screaming at her to get away from him. As far away as she could.
She staggered backwards, his sharp eyes and fading smile never leaving her as she disappeared into the crowd.
I should’ve never gone to that party.
Ara walked with her phone in her hand. The sky was dark, but the brightly lit mansions along the street kept the streets rather well lit.
Each mansion was more spacious and grandly landscaped than the next—almost as if in competition. Some had fountains and others had marble driveways. It was mind-boggling.
She glanced over her shoulder, looking back at Nanami’s house. The ambulance was parked outside, alongside several police cars.
She’d gone searching for Millie first, the second she’d gotten away from Gojo. But she couldn’t find the other girl anywhere.
She stopped her search the second she heard cops pounding on the mansion doors. She’d escaped through the back door.
She watched the house observantly from over her shoulder. The music and voices could still be heard from down the street.
She saw a paramedic and a few cops dragging a stretcher out to the ambulance.
Her heart lurched as she remembered just the look of distraught that had passed along Arman’s face a second before he stumbled down the stairs.
An image of his helpless body, lying on the ground at an awkward angle, with foam bubbling out of his mouth.
She flinched. She hadn’t felt that scared in a long time.
And Gojo.
She was still too drunk to fully process what he’d done. Too inebriated to fully acknowledge it.
She shook her head, raking a hand through her hair as she glanced down at her phone.
An unfamiliar number had texted and called—multiple times.
163-7263-1555: ara its me
163-7263-1555 (2) missed calls
163-7263-1555: pick up
163-7263-1555: silent treatment againnn :///
163-7263-1555: shouldn’t i be the one mad right now
She was more than sure it was Gojo. She wasn’t sure how he’d gotten her number, maybe Millie had given it to him.
She’d rather die before texting him.
She switched from the messenger app to Google maps. She was following the walking directions to her home address. Even if it was 39 minutes away, she didn’t care. She wanted to go home.
She didn’t want to ever party again.
I should’ve never gone home that night.
She stood in the middle of her room. It was still just as messy as her father had left it.
It was like walking back from one nightmare to another.
She sighed, walking over to make sure her bedroom door was still locked. She knew if her dad had wanted to come check on her could’ve, he had a key.
He preferred to kick it down sometimes despite that.
She raked a hand through her hair before deciding to clean one section of the mess. Maybe it would ease her nerves—she was almost sure sleep wasn’t going to come easy to her tonight.
She bent down, picking up the fallen papers beside her desk. Her legs ached from her long walk. Luckily it hadn’t been too cold outside.
Suddenly a slight sound came from her window.
Her head spun and she eyed it warily.
What was that?
Nothing was different—at first glance anyway. She swallowed, unsure what to make of it.
She glanced over when she spotted her phone on the bed light up. It casted an ominous white glow to a corner of her dim room, along the ceiling and wall.
She hadn’t kept any lights on. Using the moonlight pouring from the window as her only source of light.
Her stomach swam with uneasiness. She was too uncertain to move.
Her whole body tensed when she heard faint shuffling noises by her window. Her eyes widened when she saw a hand grasp her window ledge then, before she knew it, a figure appeared.
He was squatting, his legs wide open over the narrow window ledge. The same ledge she used moments ago, to climb back into her room.(a/n: y’all kno that one official art pic of gojo squatting, legs wide & his thumb under his blindfold, yeA that one ;)
A smirk lit the edge of his lip when he spotted her.
He raised his hand and knocked on the window, as if prompting her.
She didn’t move—merely rooted in spot-in shock.
No fucking way.
When he realized she wasn’t going to open the window his shoulders sagged. His expression darkened as she heard him mutter through the glass-
“Do I have to do everything myself?”
He used the hand that wasn’t pressed flat against the window to grab onto the slim rail. After a bit of shuffling he pushed the window up.
Her heartbeat skyrocketed and she immediately stood up.
He’s going to come inside.
She glanced towards her bedroom door but then stopped. She glanced down at herself.
She hadn’t changed out of her outfit from the party. Her dad was surely going to kill her if he saw her in this outfit. Her dad was sure to kill her for even being up at this hour.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
“Araa.” his voice was light, almost teasing.
She spun around, eyes wide with panic when she saw Gojo standing within her room. He looked so tall, his head too close to the ceiling.
Her room wasn’t exactly small but the mess made it look so. And his tall, slender frame made it look even smaller.
He stood right underneath the moonlight emitting from the window, it gave the ends of his frosty white hair a glossy hue.
He looked radiant.
Every detail of his pretty blue eyes defined in the dark.
Maybe I should scream..
A croak left her lips.
Her drunk mind raged with indecision. She knew she should scream, wake her father… but she was terrified. Terrified of picking the wrong demon to deal with.
Her father was predictable. He’d hit Gojo then hurt her twice as bad once he kicked Gojo out. She winced at the thought–but Gojo-Gojo was unpredictable. There was no guarantee what he would do…
Maybe I can get him to leave.. She was terrified of rousing her dad. He’d already beat her once today–if he beat her again she wasn’t sure she could handle it. And if she had to explain where she’d been… he’d kill her. She was sure of it.
Gojo tilted his head, “Aren’t you goin’ to talk to me?”
Her body shook slightly, “What-are you doing here.” She meant to sound firm but her voice came out raspy instead.
He took a step towards her while teasingly mocking her tone, “Why-the hell don’t you answer your phone.”
She took several steps back, fighting to keep her voice calm, “Y-you need to leave–”
He continued to slowly walk towards her, his eyes skimming over the mess in her room curiously, “If you picked up my call I could’ve taken you home, y’know. You didn’t have to walk.”
She held out her hand, “Stop.”
She stopped him a second before he could stand directly in front of her. Despite him being a few feet away from her, his tall frame easily blocked her sight from most of the room. His head was bent as he looked down at her.
She scrambled backwards a few steps, nearly tripping over the mess in her room multiple times just to regain more distance between them.
“Don’t come close to me,” she warned, her voice shaky, “Get out, Gojo. I’m serious. Get. Out.”
His eyes twinkled, “But I just got here.” he whined.
Her hand shook as she kept it held up in the air. “Just go.” she whispered, her tone harsh.
The glint of amusement within his eyes was all too demeaning. He tilted his head.
“What’re you gonna do, princess.”
Her mouth went dry, she struggled to find her words. Her heart pounded in her ears.
“I’ll scream.”
A dangerously handsome smile split across his lips. He shook his head.
“My dads home.” she warned.
His eyes latched onto hers, “Then why didn’t you scream when I came in.”
She felt something constrict in her throat.
She didn’t know how to tell him that despite him entering her house against her will-her Dad was guaranteed to twist the story and blame her. He might beat Gojo but he’d beat her worse. Because it would be her fault that Gojo got into the house. It would be her fault for not locking her window. It would be her fault for even knowing who Gojo was–
Because everything was always. her. fault.
She swallowed–feeling absolutely sick.
“You want me here.”
Her eyes immediately flitted up to his, “No.”
“Admit it.”
“There’s nothing to admit,” she spat.
His eyes blazed as he taunted, “Then scream.”
Her body tensed with indecision–panic. Her throat constricted once more as she tried to think through the fear. She had to pick the lesser of two evils.
Her mind instantly became plagued with terror at the thought of waking her Dad. Just imagining his potential anger made her want to sob. But Gojo–he wasn’t listening.
“Please-” her voice cracked before she clenched her jaw, “Just get out.”
Suddenly he was crossing the distance between them, easily stepping over the mess.
Her eyes widened, instinctively backing up until her back hit her bedroom door.
The second he stood directly in front of her adrenaline took over and she slapped him. Her hand shook slightly from the aftereffects.
“I said. get. the fuck. out.” she bit out through rushed breaths.
She was absolutely terrified of looking up at Gojo–but she did it anyway. His head was still turned aside, facing the direction she’d slapped him. His smooth cheek blossomed with red from her slap.
His crystalline eyes were frozen at first-as if in shock-before something shifted. Her breath caught at the sight.
The next thing she knew she was being tossed onto the bed.
His hand was at her neck, holding her down in a chokehold as he stood between her spread legs. His other hand flat against the blanket beside her head.
“I’ve been good. so. fucking. good.” His lips brushed against her skin as he spoke roughly into her temple.
His fingers momentarily tightened around her throat.
“I left you alone,” He dug his nose into her cheekbone, pressing her face aside into the bed. “You think that was easy for me, hmm?”
His fingers loosened on her throat, his thumb gently rubbing over her racing pulsepoint.
“All I wanted was somethin’ in return, but you know what I got—” he hissed. “I got you showing up to a party, looking like the sluttiest bitch I’ve ever seen.”
His fingers tightened around her neck once more as he growled against her cheek, “I wanted to slut you out right then and there.”
She shivered, her hands went to his wrist at her throat—weakly pushing at him. Her nerves alight with terror.
“Get off–“ she whispered, shifting under him.
“You know what your ‘friend’ told me when she hugged me. She said ‘look what I brought you’.”
Her eyes widened. Millie? Millie said that?
His hand left her throat, suddenly cupping her face—forcing her to look directly at him.
He spoke raggedly, “She knows you’re mine—everyone knows you’re mine. Except you-you want to tease me—“
His lips crashed onto hers, enveloping her lips in a kiss so hard that her jaw ached. Her skin simmered wherever they touched.
The pressure of his lips dug her further into the bed. She gasped when he tugged at her lower lip with his teeth. He immediately took advantage of her open lips—shoving his tongue through the narrow expanse of her mouth.
He groaned.
She grabbed his shoulders and shoved him back.
He budged just enough for the kiss to break–his blue eyes illuminating in the dark. He slowly straightened, licking his lips.
She quickly propped herself up on her elbows. Her chest heaving in and out as she attempted to catch her breath. She placed a hand over her lips, her hand shook.
He stood in between her legs, which hung over the bed’s edge. His face was flushed, and not because of her slap.
“What the hell–” she rasped, before cutting herself off when he grabbed his shirt from the back and easily slipped it off.
Her throat went dry.
Well, him being the best basketball player definitely showed. It genuinely.. wasn’t fair.
His skin was incredibly smooth–nearly glowing in the darkness of her barely lit room. His shoulders bulged; his arms tautly corded with muscle. His already protruding abs tightened before her eyes. He was entirely too compact with muscle—it was clear he’d done some work in the gym.
He looked so strong-so lean-she was almost… terrified.
In fact, she was scared out of her mind.
He ran hand through his tousled white hair before bending over her once-again. He pressed his hands to the bed, around either side of her.
His jaw was locked as he looked down at her. His eyes slowly looking her up and down–his gaze absolutely predatory.
His forehead nearly touched hers as he lowered himself but she immediately fell back into the bed–avoiding his touch.
She scrambled under him–moving without any thought as she attempted to slip away only to yelp outloud when he grabbed her by the waist and shoved her back down against the bed.
She looked up at him, her eyes wide with fear.
His countenance was unreadable–except for the dark look of heat that swam within the endless blue waters that were his eyes. The longer she looked at him she knew what was going to happen—she knew she was going to drown.
“You’re mine now.”
No. no. no.
Suddenly his hand was at her tube top, shoving it down. Her tits spilled over, revealing their luscious size. Her nipples were already hard from the slight breeze that escaped from her window.
His eyes reveled in the sight before he grabbed one and squeezed. She gasped at his grip.
“Mmm,” he palmed her hard nipple, “You been hiding these from me.”
She grabbed at his wrist, failing miserably to tear his firm hand off her chest.
She writhed under him, “Gojo, no—“
Suddenly he grabbed her wrists, easily pinning her hands above her head with one of his own. Her tits only seeming to protrude more at this angle.
His eyes widened, “Fuck.” he muttered, “You never took off our uniform’s jacket for a reason, huh?”
She didn’t get the chance to respond because he was touching her in an instant.
He took his time with each of her tits. He ran his palm against the smooth, untouched area of her underboob. He squeezed a handful, letting her tits fill the entirety of his large hand until it spilled through the gaps of his fingers.
He pinched her nipple and her body bucked.
“So fucking hot.” he gritted out.
“Gojo, please, stop, please—“ she whispered, begging.
She’d never felt this vulnerable in her life–she had to make him stop.
She twisted underneath him, purposely pushing her wrists against his hold only to gasp when his mouth latched onto her nipple. He lapped her perky nipple up, sucking diligently while roughly groping the other.
He broke away from her to look up at her through her tits, his lips glossy with saliva.
“How can I.” he answered, raggedly-before latching his mouth onto her unattended tit.
A choked moan left her lips-not from pleasure. Or so she thought-she couldn’t deny the feeling her nipples being attended to elicited. It was a feeling she’d never experienced before.
There was a heat she was starting to feel within her body—the kind of heat that was starting to burn within her, making her crave something she didn’t even know she wanted.
The feeling only added to her fear. The pulsing fear running underneath her skin threatened to overwhelm her.
“Please, please,” she whined, “My father is downstairs—please—“
His tongue swiped at her erect nipple once more. The tip of his tongue licking a tantalizing circle around her nipple before withdrawing his lips. A subtle smirk grew on his lips before he spit between the center of her tits. The feeling of the fluid against her skin making her squirm.
His fingers smeared his saliva along both of her tits. Her tits were soft and pillowy in his hands, using it as an excuse to squeeze them once more–he had to get them fully wet somehow, didn’t he?
He leaned back, standing upright between her legs. He didn’t let go of her wrists.
His blue eyes ran down her body. He wanted to groan. Her tits looked so good like that–glistening from his spit.
“Daddy’s downstairs, hm?” he mused. “Maybe he should know who his daughter belongs to now, hmm? He’s going to meet me one day anyway.”
“No..” she whispered.
He bent over her once-again, his teeth nipping at her lower lip. She sharply turned her head away–her body twisting underneath him.
“Get off—” she was cut-off when his hand suddenly pressed into her lower stomach, pushing her down further into bed. Her twisting and turning forced to an abrupt halt at the movement.
A low-cry left her lips.
“Why don’t you scream my name as loud as you can, yeah? I want you to.”
His hand was at her skirt, ripping it off with one swift yank of his arm.
He greedily drank in the sight of her in a baby pink lacey thong. Millie had given it to her tonight, as a ‘first night out’ gift.
If she’d known he would see it, she would’ve never worn it.
He slid his hand up her thigh, forcing her leg to spread before him. His teeth skimmed over his bottom lip at the sight. The entirety of her glistening cunt was visible to him since her thong had partly shifted aside.
He groaned through his teeth.
“Fuck, princess.”
He quickly released her wrists to hold up both of her legs, sliding his hands under her knees—spreading her completely wide open for him.
Before she could think of utilizing her free hands, she tensed. His pant covered groin was suddenly pressed against her warmth. His hard-on evident against her sensitive, untouched skin.
Her body buckled at the sensation.
A low chuckle left his lips before he began to grind his clothed cock against her wet cunt. She gasped, the feeling of something moving against her warmth foreign to her. But her body betrayed her mind—her juices spilled out her core, coating her thong and wetting his pants.
“Such a pretty pussy.” he rasped as he began to pick up speed, his hips jutting against her sensitive cunt. He was so hard.
She couldn’t move, her legs were spread wide. Held open by him against her will. Her knees were nearly at her shoulders as he grinded his cock against her. The bed squeaking noisily.
There was a feeling she couldn’t describe starting to brew within her. That heat–it spread along her skin and burned her insides. It seemed to originate from where he was rubbing against her. She couldn’t take it.
“Gojo-stop, Gojo-” she cried out, begging him to stop but he cut her off.
“Yes,” he growled out, “Just like that—want you to scream it next.”
His cock grinded harshly against her now, making her yelp out and her toes curl. Her thong was soaking, a wet spot had formed on his pants.
“So fucking wet,” he stared down at her cunt, continuing to roughly grind his cock against her. The friction felt so good against his cock.
“All mine.”
She writhed. A strangled cry leaving her lips as she attempted to separate her cunt from him by pressing her hips into the bed. The feeling was just too much–
He merely ground his cock further against her–pressing his hips against hers to further push her down into the bed. He used the added pressure to jut the length of his cock faster against her cunt.
She cried out, “P-Please—! Stop, Gojo—nnghh!”
He groaned–forcing himself to stop so he didn’t cum. He didn’t want to cum just yet.
She shivered, a subtle sigh of relief leaving her lips as she felt that hypocritical heat buzzing within her skin die down. She had no words for what that feeling was. A zip of fear coursed through her when she nervously glanced up at Gojo between her spread legs.
He was out of breath, his abs tightening with each inhale. Strands of his white hair curled over his forehead, slick with sweat. The slight mark of her earlier slap still on his cheek.
His gaze was possessive as he muttered, “m’gonna make you mine.”
He let go of one of her legs to unbuckle himself. He was too impatient to step out of his pants, merely unzipping himself and shoving his boxers down to let his thick, veiny cock jump out.
It was so long it made a slight sound when it hit his navel at first. His cock was big—big enough for her to be aware that it was big despite not having seen other cocks before. It was swollen at the tip, pink and leaking a liquid-y white substance.
The liquid leaked down his cock’s veiny sides. The veins protruding against his cock’s pale, pink skin. His cock was so erect, it was almost taunting her.
Her heart jumped to her throat–she was absolutely terrified.
She attempted to close her legs, drawing her knees together, “N-no…”
He easily drew the one leg he held apart and used his other hand to hook his index finger around her thong. He moved it further aside before placing his cockhead right at her entrance.
The tip of his cock pulsed as he felt her juices leak against him–despite not having entered her yet. His hissed–mind blanking with pleasure but before he could act on it, her legs flung out.
She turned to her side, moving to escape—until his hand found her throat, easily pinning her back down to the bed as he shoved his cock right into her core.
A pain-filled cry left her lips, her body buckling wildly underneath him. He’d only managed to seat his tip within her, but it hurt—it hurt so bad.
He bent over her and groaned.
A shiver raked her body at the sound. She went still, eyes squeezing shut, “No-no-nono-”
He peered down at her, his blue eyes dark with lust as he saw her strained expression. He slowly withdrew his cockhead and pushed it back in.
Her body jolted, eyes snapping open, “No—Gojo, stop-please, please—it hurts—“
She grabbed onto his hand at her throat. Her nails scratched at arm–trying-shoving-pushing at him, but they both knew it was futile. She sobbed.
Her cunt was incredibly wet, wet enough for her to feel aware of how warm the juices were making her insides. Despite all of this, she was still a virgin. She’d never had someone inside her before. Her cunt didn’t have any room for someone as big as him—or anyone ever.
He lowered himself over her, careful not to press his cock further into her as he swiped his tongue along her cheek, licking up her salty tear.
“You cryin’ princess?”
The tip of his cock pulsed inside of her.
His fingers around her neck tightened, “Do y’know how fuckin’ good you feel? How tight?”
He nipped at her jaw, before sucking at her neck—leaving dark dark hickeys behind. Darker than the marks he’d left on her tits.
“You think you deserve to run free after the way you were rubbin’ up on those random bitch boys, hm? You let them feel you up-let ‘em talk to you—”
His hips bucked into her, forcing another inch in. She nearly screamed.
“Only I get to do that.”
Her body was arched in pain, the skin above her tits felt warm and blotchy as she outstretched her neck. Her collarbones rising and falling against her skin as she breathed unevenly.
“No-no-no-“ she whimpered, her cunt hurt bad. Having more of him within her felt wrong—despite what the signals in her body were telling her.
Her cunt squeezed around him-heartily willing to accept him despite the pain. His girth was huge, taking up too much space. There was no way-this couldn’t be happening—
He groaned into her neck, his hand slipping down to play with her tits once more.
He squeezed her tit greedily before rubbing her areola till her nipple hardened against his palm.
“You were such a bad girl today-y’know-you should be grateful..”
He chuckled, huskily, against her skin, “Should be grateful I’m not tearing this pussy open right now.”
She made a low, weak moaning sound. She could only imagine the pain—there was no way. No way she could take all of him. She would break.
Her cunt squeezed around him, hard—the complete opposite of her mind’s reaction.
“Hah,” he breathed out, against her neck.
His hands beside her head fisted the sheets, gripping it hard as his thighs flexed. He fought the animalistic urge to pound his hips into her at the godless pace he wanted to fuck her at.
He had to resist–her pussy was so tight that his cock nearly felt wedged in place, despite the slick of her wetness coating the rest of his balls.
He raised his head over hers, his cerulean blue eyes raking over her face. Her lips were slightly parted-breathless-as the crease in her brow deepened. Her body shook slightly as she tried to twist her face away–revealing that she was in pain.
His lips brushed along her jawline as a rush of lust overcame him at her expression. His balls swelled.
“Your pussy’s beggin’ for me, princess.”
He withdrew his hips slightly, letting his cock slide out before shoving it back in at the depth he was at before. Her body lurched. Her hands instinctively grasped his shoulders to hold onto something as she arched in pain.
Despite the cry she’d let out–she’d still heard the lewd, wet sound that filled the air.
“Hear that,” his lips were at the cusp of her ear, “That’s how wet you are.”
His hand cupped her tit again before squeezing it-harshly. She wanted to yelp but squeezed her eyes shut instead, biting down on her lower lip to quiet herself. If her Dad awoke to seeing her like this…
“You wanted this, didn't you?” Gojo’s ragged voice cut through her thoughts, “Isn’t that what you told Millie?”
His cock snapped in and out again. At the same depth as before. Barely a fourth in.
She gasped through her teeth. Her body trembled as she tried not to be too loud. He hadn’t gone deeper but god-the action was so unfamiliar, her insides felt like a mess.
“You told her you wanted to lose your virginity tonight.”
Her eyes snapped open in horror.
She had told her she was open to that but that was in confidence—and it wasn’t like that was her sole goal for the night.
Suddenly he leaned back, letting himself stand completely upright between her legs. His hands slipped up her thighs, spreading her legs further open—far and wide.
He stared down at her through half-lidded, hungry eyes.
“I’ll give you what you want, princess.”
Her eyes widened before she attempted to lift her hips away from him, but his hands suddenly wound themselves around her calves. His hands slipped under the bend of her knees before shoving her legs apart, forcing her hips back down into the bed.
She felt his tip poke her entrance.
She gasped—fear consuming her as she twisted helplessly. His hold was too strong for her to move. She attempted to pry his fingers off of her legs.
“Gojo-please, please-no, no-I can’t—“
Her little mewls shouldn’t have made his cock stiffer. He leaned over her, spreading her legs further open as his hands pushed her knees up. She felt the tip of his cock poke at her wetness.
His lips brushed against hers as she jolted. She was so sensitive, he loved it.
“Don’t be like that, kitten,” his voice a low murmur against her lips, “I told you I wanted you.. you should’ve came to me first.”
His hips shot forward, burrowing the full length of his cock inside of her all at once.
He caught her scream with his lips, kissing her deep and slow as she trembled underneath him.
Her nails dug into his shoulders. The pain was so blinding she couldn’t think. She felt so full–she felt like a new space had just been forced apart within her.
She writhed underneath him, unable to think until she pried her lips away from his. Her teeth clenched as she turned her head aside, trying so hard not to scream as his cock throbbed inside of her—forcing her pussy to accommodate.
She let out a choked breath, her cunt inadvertently squeezing around him.
“Fuck,” He groaned, the sound muffled as he pressed his face into her hair. “Takin’ me so well, princess.”
He slightly pressed his hips further into her, reveling in the feeling of how the walls of her cunt didn’t let him go, “Feel so fuckin’ good.”
She winced, moaning in pain as she squeezed her eyes shut. Her fingers clasping and unclasping his shoulders.
His blue eyes scanned her face, a look of adoration and pure lust mixing within his gaze as he ran his hand down her temple to move her hair out of her face.
“Your virginity was always mine.” he stated, huskily–with all the confidence in the world.
Her cunt squeezed around him and his hips jutted into her. Just as she cried out he pressed a desperate kiss to her lips. The feeling of his cock completely stuffing her and his lips on hers simultaneously jumbled her body and nerves like no other. She whimpered.
He broke the kiss before leaning back. His gaze darkened as he took in the view before him.
His hands on her thighs spread her legs some more, causing a soft whimper to leave her lips. Her full, perky tits were shiny with sweat. And her legs—they looked so fucking sexy, completely outspread for him like that. He could feel every tremble of her thighs go straight to his cock.
And her cunt—her cunt looked so good, completely stuffed to brim by him. Her warm pussy juices leaked over the edge of his cock. He didn’t miss the line of blood slipping down her cunt to ass.
She looked so ready to be used.
And that’s exactly what he did.
He fucked her hard. He didn’t care how loud the bed was. His dick slammed in and out of her relentlessly—lewd sounds of her wetness filling the room as she cried out with each rough fuck. If she thought the pain was bad before, it was nothing compared to now.
He was just so damn big. She swore she could feel each ridge and vein of his dick against her pussy walls—his cock forced her pussy to fit.
His countenance was focused despite being lost in complete bliss. Her pussy was his. Only his.
He didn’t slow down—continuously ramming his dick into her. The tip of cock hitting her walls each time, making her body jump up and quiver. Her tits bounced satisfyingly with each body breaking fuck.
“Ohh—god, fuck—stop, p-please—“ she was absolutely dumbstruck.
“You can take it.” He spread her legs wider, making her back arch in pain.
He leaned forward, picking up his pace somehow, “I’ll be the first and last dick you have—you hear me? This cunt’s mine.”
She breathed haggardly, her brain lost in a fog of pain as that heat she felt earlier slowly crept back up. She couldn’t believe this was happening.
“Nngh—!” was all that left her mouth when he continued to fuck her out. He kept spreading her legs open further–his grip on her legs firm as he let his cock hit her at an even deeper angle.
“Hurts!” she cried out, wincing, “Gojo—please—“
He didn’t stop. His cock slamming in and out of her roughly. Her cunt felt so damn good—so tight.
He licked a bead of sweat that shone along her cheekbone, “I know, princess.”
She was a mess. Her hands gripping his shoulders tightly as she let him do whatever he pleased. It hurt so bad she couldn’t think–but there was a small part of her that was reveling in the feeling he was arousing. She couldn’t explain it.
“Gojo, please, stop–” she whined, helplessly, tears slipping down the corner of her eyes once more.
His hand went to her navel, gently pressing into her lower stomach. He growled when he felt the slight bump of his tip hitting his hand. Fuck, her pussy felt too good.
He looked down at her. Her tits swung in hypnotizing circles. Her hair was completely unruly over the sheets and her face shone with tears.
His voice was rough as he muttered, “Such a pretty crier–S’not fair.”
Her cunt tightened at his words and he groaned through clenched teeth. She felt his dick throb inside her and couldn’t help but shiver at the unfamiliar feeling. She felt like wasn’t on this planet. This feeling burning within her skin, the lewd noises filling the room. The odd sensation of gradually building up subtly under the pain.
“You like that, hmm? You like when I compliment you while breaking you open?”
She shook her head, “N-no, please-nnghh, it hurts. Hurts.”
“You can take it, princess.”
He leaned forward, enrapturing her lips in forceful kiss as he pressed his hips into her. Letting the length of his cock fully submerge into her warm wetness. Her body arched underneath him, her tits pressing into his firm chest as he kept her down.
She felt his cock twitch and she gasped, breaking the kiss, “G-gojo—!”
He buried his face into her neck, groaning as he shoved his cock further into her. She winced.
Then suddenly she felt his cock pulsate within her. She felt something warm and thick fill her up—a lot of it. She swore she felt it drip down her ass.
He came… inside me. She went limp in shock.
He slumped over her, catching his breath. His weight nearly crushing her until his dick spasmed within her, shooting out the last loads of cum within her cunt.
He came a lot. He knew he had—it wasn’t usually like this but fuck, he had to see it.
He leaned off of her slowly. He slipped his hands around her legs once more, spreading her open to see his dick still lodged deep within her.
She was just so warm down there… Fuck, he almost didn’t want to pull out.
He noticed streaks of his cum had slipped out, joining the trail of blood and pussy juice that trailed down to her ass. His cock jerked in her pussy at the sight.
He slowly pulled himself out, his cock leaving her pussy with a satisfying ‘pop’ when he finally withdrew himself completely. A string of cum was still attached to her pussy from his tip when he pulled out.
A second later, more cum poured out of her cunt. And more. Streaks of blood were mixed in here and there but Fuck—how much did he cum?
His cum leaked out of her cunt and slipped down her ass onto the sheets. The sight was so erotic he didn’t notice that his cock was fully erect again. His balls throbbing once-more.
He ran a hand over his dick, giving it a few pumps before squeezing the tip to watch one last bead of cum pour out. He swiped at the cum with his fingers, collecting it.
He brought his fingers to her lips. Her eyes were closed but then opened half-way at his touch. Her whole body ached from the aftermath of their sex, she was completely worn out.
“Open your mouth.” he murmured.
She blinked, before opening her mouth compliantly.
He placed his finger in her mouth, “Suck.”
She did. Her little tongue swiped at the substance coating his fingers and squinted at the taste. She didn’t know what to make of it.
He smirked, that typical darkly handsome smirk of his– “Good girl.”
She lay in bed, curled up into a ball under the sheets. She still hadn’t gotten up to shower yet-despite desperately feeling the need to shower after getting railed by Gojo Satoru.
She still couldn’t believe that had just happened.
Her whole body ached, each physical movement causing some sort of strain on her body. Her throat felt dry and her legs still felt sticky despite having pissed already. She was still in a state of shock.
She hadn’t gotten the nerve-or will-to move because Gojo was still here.
He lay on the bed next to her. She couldn’t see him because her back was to him. She needed him to leave.
She felt the bed shift under his weight and suddenly his presence felt closer. His voice arose from somewhere near her shoulder,
“Are you sleeping?”
She jolted slightly, at his closeness—before scooting further away from him on the bed.
“Hm.. you mad at me then?”
Her brows furrowed. Why’d he say it like I shouldn’t be?
She needed him to leave but she refused to talk to him. She’d experienced abuse before this…but this was different. He’d taken her virginity.
She flinched when she felt him press a delicate kiss to her shoulder.
“C’monnn, princess,” he urged—whining slightly, “Talk to me.”
She didn’t want to. When the silence ensued she thought she heard a low sigh.
“You’re not allowed to give me the silent treatment anymore.” he muttered, discontentedly.
Her eyes snapped open at that—unsure what to make of his words. She wasn’t sure if that was a threat or just more of him whining. He was so unpredictable, she had no clue how to safely navigate this situation.
She didn’t trust his current easygoing-ness one bit. She didn’t know what he would do to her if she said something wrong—something he didn’t like. She wanted to be defiant but she was… terrified. She’d never been overpowered like that—completely bent to someone else’s will.
She still felt the imprint of his large hands around her legs, gripping her thighs firmly in place-to keep her spread open for him no matter how much she struggled. He barely budged when she’d twisted and turned-trying to escape. He dominated her easily every time. His strength scared her.
She closed her eyes, willing her heart rate to calm down. She needed to think through the fear but she wasn’t ever any good at acting.
She hesitantly poked her head out from the blanket, turning slightly to face him.
His blue eyes sparkled at the sight of her.
“Do you know what you just did to me?” her voice wavered, resisting the urge to snap at him, “Why would I want to talk to you.”
He was propped up on one elbow, shirtless, as he lay beside her. His white hair was completely ruffled, with strands poking out in different directions. A subtle pout appeared on his lips as he contemplated her question. His white brows furrowing.
She wished he’d put his shirt on.
He sighed, “Me and you were gonna happen regardless so..” he shrugged.
She blinked, staring at him in complete disbelief. There was so many things wrong with that that she didn’t even know where to start.
His fingertips skimmed her cheekbones, tucking her hair behind her ear. She resisted the urge to flinch.
She watched him in complete stunned silence.
He was gazing at her, almost adoringly. She could tell from his line of sight that he could see the hickeys decorating her neck. Now that he’d moved her hair out of her face, they were more visible.
His crystalline eyes flitted to hers, catching her staring. A brief look of surprise flashed over his eyes before a smug smile spread across his lips.
“I’m pretty, right?”
She blinked, speaking impulsively, “You’re insane.”
“Fix me then.”
Her eyes widened before flinching when his hand slipped over her stomach, lightly pressing her down so that she lay flat on her back instead of her side.
She froze. Her body alert with fear as he leaned towards her. He placed his head on her shoulder, letting himself lie comfortably over her.
He threw his long leg over her tiny frame. She was still partly naked under the blanket—but lucky for her, he wasn’t under the sheets.
“Don’t chicks love that shit?” he continued before sighing, “I wish you wanted to fix me.”
She glanced down at him, at his fluffy white head on her shoulder—his hair tickling her chin. He was so big compared to her that despite him being the one trying to ‘cuddle’ on her, his large stature still gave the appearance that he was spooning her.
She shifted slightly under his weight, wondering how he was comfortable. She supposed he didn’t have much to worry about—considering he was laying atop of her and seemed to live life doing whatever the hell he wanted.
Fix him? she wanted to laugh. The only thing that would fix him is jail.
She closed her eyes, fighting the urge to tremble slightly. How am I going to get out of this?

GENSHIN MEN AS COLLEGE AU TROPES.
my entry to @yae-publishing-house's modern au event! this is shorter than usual due to me having a lab report to settle atm ;–;
your petty classmate, your closest enemy, your academic rival, your study buddy; he had been all, helped you a lot during tough times of understanding certain lectures, and roasting your grades whenever he got the chance simultaneously.
study dates? they were normal. though you wouldn't admit the term yourself because it sounded way too personal, but your classmates had already seen you spent too many hours with him outside academic settings, so did he really help you in maintaining good results, or you just loved spending your time with him?
well, you supposed you should never know the answer yourself.
ALHAITHAM, CYNO
. ° ⨯ . ⁺ ⵌ . ⁺ ♡. ° ⨯ . ⁺ ⵌ . ⁺
the one student who successfully made everyone turned at him in every step he took, you included.
he was the epitome of perfection, an abstract work of flawlessness, a living embodiment of genuineness. he was all everyone loved. yet it baffled you to this day that he was your seatmate. how could someone this immaculate actually sat beside you, and for god's sake, you couldn't focus in your classes, at all.
every little thing he did made your heart racing; from him casually lent you his answers when your professor called out your name, to him blatantly covered you up with his hoodie if he ever caught you trembling because of the cold from the air conditioner, you knew you were doomed to survive all year around with him being this close to you.
AYATO, KAZUHA, ZHONGLI
. ° ⨯ . ⁺ ⵌ . ⁺ ♡. ° ⨯ . ⁺ ⵌ . ⁺
“why did the melon jump into a lake? because it wanted to be a water-melon.”
his lame jokes were everywhere around you, yet you still found some kind of entertainment around him.
he loved teasing everything about you—in which when you accidentally slept in class and he took a picture just to jokingly blackmail you in the future, joking about how besides chocolates, you were his favourites and so on—and you felt like strangling him from time to time with his cheesy and corny attitude.
though, maybe, you did love the banters.

eyes wide open oikawa tooru x gn!reader (angst) synopsis: you confront an old love word count: 1k warnings: egotistical behavior, went hard on this one ngl masterlist | requests are open
teal and white balloons line the reminiscent halls of aoba johsai. strings hang onto locker handles, each one slightly scratched and torn from years of overuse, students not caring for the longevity of them. banners run along the top of the lockers, words scattered on some of them. aoba johsai's volleyball team's wins written on one of them.
you can hardly remember the last time you thought about their volleyball team. of their captain and setter. except now, it's hard to ignore the glaring love the school had for its athletes. the countless yearbook photos and awards all ending up in the hands of the players. especially the famed volleyball team and their captain that oh so loved the attention.
he loved it so much he forgot how to love someone else. leaving you years later standing outside of the party, arms crossed over your chest, completely alone. even hearing the music reminds you of why you didn't want to come in the first place. the songs that sound a little too much like prom music and the outfits that are simply there to represent wealth.
"reminiscing?" a voice worms its ways through your ears, familiar and yet disturbing.
"hard to reminisce when none of it was very enjoyable," you stare ahead at the banner, him standing in your peripheral vision, your finger tapping against your forearm.
he sighs, lowering his shoulders. he's always been expressive through his body language. how he loves someone, hates them, it's always written across his face like a shakespearean play. and now, you can see the pain your words cause him, "none of it?"
you look over at the man you once loved, just now noticing the way he's matured. his hair is a little shorter now and his glasses seem much more attuned to that of a grown man. they're a little thicker and closer together, echoing the academic look he carries through his outfit. the browns and loose plaid look quickly screaming professor, something you could never see on him.
"yeah... okay, not all of it. some of it was nice," you finally say, eyes still unable to connect with his for more than a few seconds.
his appearance seems much more at peace with that answer than digging for something that’s a bit more truthful, "how have you been? as we haven't seen each other in quite some time."
"truly? i don't know if that's any of your business, oikawa. it hasn't been for a very long time. so, i think i'm going to go. you enjoy your celebration with the team and every girl or television network who you had attention from," you push past him, mind throwing you back to every memory you've had in these halls.
the way he'd lean against your locker like some american sitcom. his eyes stuck on yours like a mouse to a trap, keeping you in his sights just long enough for him to use you to gain what he wanted.
"you're right- if that means anything to you, i want you to know. i wasn't right to you, not in the ways that mattered. especially when i did love you as much as i did," oikawa practically yells out to you just as a new song begins to play over the speakers.
you turn around to look at him, chills running up your arms. of course you wanted to know if you ending it with him was the right move. the way you cried over and over blaming yourself for ending something that barely even blossomed into something bigger. when in actuality, oikawa never could've shown that love to you, at least he couldn't then. the overwhelming sense of joy he felt from others impeded the love he garnered for you.
"i loved you, and maybe it's too late for me to say that to you, but it's the truth. you were too good for me, and i took that for granted," his voice quiets some, hands stuffed into his pockets like a kid getting scolded.
"it is too late. because- well, i'm a different person. eighteen-year old me would've loved to have heard that spiel," you take a few steps towards him, biting your lip as you shake your head, "but at this point? it's a little off the mark. wouldn’t you say?”
oikawa stands there for a moment, clearly unable to think of what else to say, "... i know. but truly, y/n- l/n, i am a different person now. and i'd like to at least have a chance to sit down with you, tell you my side of everything."
"what makes you think you deserve that? to have some sort of closure that i never got when i wanted it? you don't get to change this around just because you've changed," your eyebrows furrow, a clear look of disgust covering your expression, "oikawa, you may be the greatest guy alive right now, but that doesn't change anything."
"i know- i know. i just want a chance to show you that my eyes are wide open. and they're finally noticing everything that i need to address in my life. that includes how i treated you," he takes a few steps in your direction, bringing his hand up slightly as if he were to hold yours.
you quickly shake your head, "while it all sounds very genuine, i don't want that. i don't want whatever closure you think i may give you. please, go back to the party and find another person from your past who may want this apology."
instead of saying anything else to finally sway you to his side of the court, he stands there, like a fool. fingers pushed back into his pockets as a pout settles on his lips. anything you may have felt for him before, any sort of love or even contentment has been thrown out the window. now, all you feel is pitty for a man who so desperately wants to let go of his past.
a/n: this wasn’t how this fic was supposed to go.. it was supposed to be a fluff piece…

*breaks down your Inbox's door* *heavy breathing* I've made my own Shadow OCs but don't think this means I'm happy about it.
*I am actively losing sanity because Graves and his Shadows have me in a death grip*
So here, here are my Shadows. There's like nothing on them cause I've just now made this shit up for ~reasons~
Andrew 'Woody' Fallwood. Gets his callsign from his name and the fact he's a cowboy. Around 5'11", not very big but is plenty strong. He's a silly guy, likes to make jokes and stuff to keep the others calm, especially big boy Moose. Almost always has a cigarette in his mouth. Can be a bit of an ass but that's just cause he's a stubborn little Southern man. More of an Appalachian southern man, and grew up on a cattle farm. Just really loves cows cause he has so many fond memories of the cows under his family's care. Scary good shot. At least it's scary until people learn he grew up in rural Appalachia and then it's just "oh you've been shooting since you were six, haven't you?"
Cole 'Flash' Halley. Tall, lanky guy that stands at around 6'2". Youngest to be recruited into Shadow Company, often gets called "Baby" or similar things since he's so young. Instantly became so many of the Shadows' new younger brother. Gets his name from one of his first days as a Shadow where he beat a record for completing an obstacle course in the fastest time. He holds all the records for "fastest" on so many things on base, including "fastest time to get a hug from Moose". Cause while Moose is a nice guy and all, he doesn't just go around hugging people, especially the newer Shadows. All Flash had to do though was walk up to him in tears and Moose's big brother instincts kicked in. This was his second day on base. He's the stereotypical little brother, though, cause he's constantly doing things to piss other Shadows off/to just be annoying for the hell of it.
Matthew 'Truck' Simmons. Shorter (around 5'8"), but broad, bulky guy. He's been dubbed "getaway driver". He drives everything, from the great big tanks to just normal ass cars. Definitely a truck freak, and is always in the shop, working on any of the numerous terrain vehicles the Shadows have. Had to repeat a couple of school years, and the second he turned 18 he enlisted. He was sick of being told he wasn't "smart" just because he can't do well on academic tests. But put a truck in front of him and a toolkit and he can tell you every single thing about that truck in extreme detail.
Jacob 'Ness' Owens. Not tall at all compared to most other Shadows, only around 5'6". He's a superb swimmer, and is almost always in the water. Loves to dive and do other water related missions. If he could, he'd swim in the outdoor pool year long (it's closed during the off seasons), but luckily the indoor pool's temperature is more easily controlled, thus allowing him to intentionally make it colder. These pools are for training, but the indoor one tends to be more recreational. Ness is required to sign into something when he wants to swim, cause he always makes it colder, and Graves got sick of the complaining from Shadows trying to swim after he's done. Gets his callsign from the fact he's often in his full wetsuit while swimming, and one time, during the night, several Shadows saw him swimming outside and joked he looked like the Loch Ness Monster. He's very quiet and rarely talks, doesn't like to be around a lot of people, but does a good job and is still friendly enough. Prefers giving in to his cryptid namesake (and the fact he's Ohioan) and doing weird things to get out of conversations. (like staring wide-eyed at them and sinking under the table like it's the water level)
*Ness is my baby boy I love him so much*
Anyways, back to complaining over my willing obsession over Graves and Shadow Company
Ah, the brainrot has a firm root if you made ocs HAHAHAHAHAHAH-
-
Moose is actually an excellent swimmer and handles the cold pretty well so him and Ness would bond over that. Moose won’t stay in the water as much but he would definitely join him for a swim.
Flash would definitely be mothered by Moose. Having joined when he was pretty young himself he’s pretty protective of younger Shadows. He tries to not be overbearing but sometimes he can’t help it and worries over them.
Moose would love to hear Truck talk about his vehicles. He knows a few things himself about them, well enough to get them running or to make repairs if needed. He likes listening to people talk about things they’re passionate about.
Woody would definitely be good friends with Moose. The jokes would win him over and they have a shared love for cows. But the accent would definitely have a part in it, something Moose won’t admit. A southern accent is very comforting to him.

birds of a feather ➳ chapter 1
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ . . ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : .
Only two months were left until March. That meant three months until the end of third year and consequently the end of Kageyama’s time in Karasuno, and worse, his time as the setter for the Karasuno boys’ volleyball team. No one had really spoken much about it, apart from anxious mentions about the looming final exams that would be taking place during the end of February. Even then, Yamaguchi and Tsukishima were smart, so they were barely worried. It was only now, gazing from across the volleyball court at a small calendar on the wall, that it had dawned on Kageyama that everyone really would be graduating. He couldn’t really decipher if his peers were nervous, excited, or some strange other option. He couldn’t decipher how he felt about it himself.
He was excited, of course. He knew so many opportunities for his volleyball career would appear and he would soon have all the time in the world to focus on the one thing that mattered most. He would be free from so many school-related responsibilities, free from anything that tied him down, free to become who he really wanted to be. Free to -
“Kageyama!” called out an all too familiar voice from across the court, completely interrupting his train of thought. Kageyama looked up, ensuring his annoyance would be clear on his face with a scowl. “Let’s practice some more!”
Ah, yes, the person that would be the most shocking loss following graduation. Hinata. His obnoxious partner and classmate. It wouldn't be a shocking loss because Kageyama would miss him, necessarily, but rather because he had accustomed himself to his constant presence. His voice, the familiar bright orange of his hair, and his moronic antics that despite some increased maturity had remained during their highschool career.
Kageyama was usually always, and really always, up for practice. But he found that during that particular afternoon he had a lot on his mind. Plus, it was late. Everyone had already gone home, and while he and Hinata always practiced extra when they had the chance, he felt a bit light-headed and uncomfortable. It was best to go home. It wasn’t a bad idea to get a head start on studying for finals, either, considering Kageyama’s interesting academic record.
“I’m going,” he said, giving Hinata a curt nod. Hinata’s expression changed almost comically from a powerful and lively grin to what could best be described as despair.
“What?” Hinata drew out the ‘a’ on that ‘what’ with a whine. “But everyone else already went home, and I don’t want to practice by myself,” he bounced a volleyball unhappily, giving Kageyama a look of both disappointment and hope.
Kageyama sighed. In a bizarre feat of honesty and openness, he mumbled “I don’t feel well, so I’m going,” and began to gather his things to walk home. He readied himself to listen to more incessant whining and complaining, but Hinata remained silent, giving him a stare with a tilted head like a curious puppy. Then, inexplicably, he gasped as if he had a genius idea. Kageyama groaned in response. “Don’t start -”
“It’s cold outside,” Hinata explained, sounding too glad about it. “And you’re not feeling well. What if you get sick before our practice match with Date Tech next week?”
“Your point?”
“I’m giving you a ride on my brand new bike!” He responded, characteristically unfazed by Kageyama’s sour mood.
⋆
Kageyama’s insistence that he didn’t need a ride and that that wasn’t what he meant when he said he wasn’t feeling well went wholly ignored. And so there he was, stuck holding onto a boy shorter than him on a bike, with the cold air of incoming spring hitting his face. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat. The bike was adjusted perfectly to Hinata’s height, which meant Kageyama sat with his legs in a less than ideal position. Before he could say anything else to protest, Hinata gave him a grin, and took off after a hurried warning to hold on tight.
If Kageyama hadn’t known the boy, he would’ve sworn that this was a purposeful attempt on his life. Hinata swerved too fast more than once while rushing to get Kageyama home, more often than not causing Kageyama to crash right into his back, which was quite humiliating regardless of the warmth it provided contrasting the cold air. Kageyama didn’t even live far from school. He had no clue why Hinata would be in such a rush. To make matters worse it began to snow almost as soon as the two set off and Hinata sped up even more in response. Kageyama considered praying while he clutched his bag with one arm and Hinata with the other. The two spent the majority of the ride yelling, although Hinata’s yelling consisted of booming laughs, a clear sign that he was having fun. If Hinata didn’t get himself killed then, Kageyama swore he would do the job himself.
When they arrived at Kageyama's house, he dizzily got off the bike, holding his head with one hand. Hinata hopped off his bike with a smile and began to turn it around so he himself could go home.
“Were you… trying… to kill me?” Kageyama said breathlessly, still clutching his bag as if he was on a roller coaster that was approaching a loop. “I thought… it was strange that you wanted to help out…”
Hinata gave him a look that screamed that he felt betrayed. “I was only trying to get you home fast so you wouldn’t get sick!” He protested dramatically and scoffed, already getting on his bike to leave.
Kageyama turned the claim over in his mind. He had said he didn’t want Kageyama to get sick, and he had sped up once it began to snow. He let out a defeated sigh. “Fine. Thanks.”
Hinata looked at him with brief disbelief. Even Kageyama was surprised that he had thanked him so easily. Usually, he would’ve called him a dumbass or some other poorly worded insult even if Hinata had good intentions. Kageyama couldn’t comprehend why he gave in so quickly without a fight.
The two stood there for a moment in the snow, eyes locked onto each other’s. For some reason, Kageyama noted only then, after having known Hinata for years, that his eyes weren’t a pure brown. They were a more honeyed brown, light caramel. Hinata then gave him a sunny grin, a wave, and off he was. Kageyama stayed there standing alone. He felt that same light-headeness as earlier, then he shook it off and began to walk inside.
Graduation would be a gift. So what if Hinata wasn’t coming with him? The two were inseparable, that was true, but they were much more independent now than they once had been. At the very least there would be no more bike related attempts on Kageyama’s life.
But there wouldn’t be anyone to give him a ride like that. There wouldn’t be anyone insisting for him to throw a few more sets like that. There wouldn’t be anyone to do any of that. Or maybe there would be, but whoever it was, it wouldn’t be Hinata.
Kageyama ignored the thought. Graduation would be a gift. He felt a bit light-headed again.
He had no reason to feel this way.
After all, Hinata looked fine. He wasn’t worried at all.
Right?

I said I'd do one of Val, and I did. You can once again tell that I worked on different pictures on different days because the line quality is sorta inconsistent... oh well.
This is a bit shorter than Beriith's section because she hasn't lived quite as long as he has, and doesn't need worldbuilding loredrops to explain stuff. Still! She has lived experience and her story isn't "coming of age" story, she is very much an adult. Unlike with Beriith (where I had to be sorta vague about exact ages) I can be a bit more precise with Val.
(as a reminder, in this setting elves [and most other long-lived humanoid species] mature from child to adult like humans do, but their aging slows down somewhere at late 20s/early 30s, so as she is currently in her early 30s, she is comparable to a 30-year-old human in mental, physical and legal maturity. I know some settings have elves mature slower, but this is not one of those settings.)
More info under cut, sorry it’s long once again
CHILD
Valeria is the eldest of three children; she has a (middle child) and a sister (the youngest child). As a child, she is cheery and sweet-natured. Her parents' wealth means she never goes without anything. She is not exactly spoiled, but she's definitely used to a certain... standard, even as a child. She gets along with her siblings well, and likes being a big sister, which is good, because her parents are aloof and distant, and lot of Val's "parenting" is done by different nannies and teachers.
When she's very young, she witnesses her father argue with her Aunt (his sister, that is.) and as her aunt storms out, she takes a brief moment to talk to Valeria, telling her that she probably won't come around anymore (not that she often did anyway) and she should never let anyone tell her what to make of her life. She gifts Valeria her hair ribbon, a gift Val will keep with her all the time from that moment on. She writes Val letters for a few years, but they eventually fall out of regular touch.
TEENS
As a teen, Val is. Hm. It's complicated. She's not really a wild, rebellious teen, but it's during her teen years when she gets several realizations about her family and about what she wants to do. While as a small child she didn't really have enough knowledge of the world to realize how distant and, frankly, emotionally neglectful, even abusive, her parents are, as a teenager she starts to realize this. Her parents are shitty and distant, and not at all like the parents of many of her friends and peers. She doesn't directly rebel or anything, but she starts paying attention, and definitely gains some context about her aunt as a result.
Her ideas for her future continue to crystallize. Inspired by her estranged aunt and the meeting she had with her in her childhood, she decides to pursue an academic career to differentiate herself from her family. She knows that technically she could probably use her family name for leverage, but wants to prove herself, and as such, she spends a lot of time studying to get ready to apply to her chosen university, to become a mage. It takes her several attempts to get in - Serenzia University of Thaumaturgy is fairly prestigious, and there is a lot of competition over spots. As mentioned, Val could probably leverage her family and their connections to have an easier time to get in, but she absolutely wants to get in by her own merits.
EARLY TWENTIES
Once she gets accepted to the university, she kinda... lets loose? "Early twenties" is Val's "Party Phase." While as a child and teenager she mostly lived in social circles connected to her parents, at the university she was finally free to make friends who had no connections to her family, and student party life took her for several years when she was in her early twenties. Casual relationships, alcohol, mild recreational drugs, parties and get-togethers, the whole thing. She wasn't like super wild and didn't go too overboard... but she definitely was known for partying, to the point of her having to take an extra year to finish her studies, as she kinda ended up dropping out of several required courses due to lack of focus and had to retake them. Oops.
Her relationship with her parents continues to be bad. They're kind of whatever about Val's whole university career, and while they're not too happy about her partying ways, they're kind of whatever about that as well, as long as she isn't... too embarrassing about it. For example, they strictly forbid her from having serious relationships, for reasons which will become apparent later, but for now she's fine with it because serious long-term relationships aren't in her interests anyway. Her relationship with her siblings deteriorates somewhat, not because of her partying, but more like... they developed into different directions and all deal with the side effects of neglectful parenting in their own ways, and don't quite have the maturity to deal with it yet.
Eventually, she starts taking her studies actually seriously, and proves herself to be skilled and hard-working, with some degree of natural talent to magic.
LATE TWENTIES
By her late twenties, Val has started her long graduate program to become an Archmage of Thermomancy. She has left her partying ways almost behind by that point as well. First, and most important, she more or less grew out of the whole thing. It was her testing her wings and getting carried away by sudden freedom, and it was not something that would be a long-term lifestyle; after her first few years she kinda fell off the party wagon gradually, and by the time she starts her graduate program, she's less into wild parties and more into "wine and theater" or "chill restaurant night" kinda get-togethers. Second, she has, um, she has an experience at the start of her program. When she gets accepted into the program, someone starts a rumor she is sleeping with several professors in exchange for her spot in the program. The rumors get serious enough that even the professors in question hear about it, and the university has to start an official investigation on it. Val (and the professors) is eventually officially cleared, it... changes things. Val is a lot less interested in hanging out with random people, and while she doesn't like... lose her faith in humanity or anything, she becomes more guarded and careful. She loses her serious-ish partner (they weren't long term yet, but Val kinda thought it could happen, despite what her parents want) who never really comes around to the idea that the rumor was a complete lie. Several of her casual friendships go the same way when the whole thing is going down. And several professors think Val herself is behind the rumor and become colder towards her as a result.
Whoever started the rumor is never identified or punished for their actions.
Over the years, the whole thing kinda... fades from memory, but occasionally someone still asks if "anyone remembers that chick from a few years ago who fucked a professor for better grades or something."
In any case, by her late twenties, Val is more serious about her studies and has her university career mapped out.
CURRENT
Val, in her very early 30s, is mostly done with her graduate program, basically just looking for a final project and thesis subject. Life is. It's good enough? She occasionally teaches starter courses at the university -- she doesn't really need the money (rich family :( ) but it's something she enjoys anyway, and it keeps her in the university circles while she tries to figure her thesis out. Her goal is to finish it in a year, whatever is the subject, and then she'll start working in a research team, and maybe even become a proper professor one day...
But then, one day, her parents drop a bomb on her. They've found a husband for her, from nobility no less, and she is expected to get married within six months, so your university career is kinda over, maybe your husband is ok with it, but whatever, you prioritize getting along with your future husband now, none of that thesis stuff. So, Val thinks, fuck that. She's not going to get married. She's going to ditch the whole goddamn city, and find her aunt, who for sure she has resources to help her, or at least to help her get started. Transfer to another university. Anything but getting married to some dude she doesn't even know.
But she can't escape alone. In the years past, mages used to summon Hellhounds to act as bodyguards whenever they traveled solo, and while the practice has largely fallen out of use, it's still done occasionally, and instructions to the summoning ritual are easily available.
Except, something goes weirdly wrong...
