hey hi hello good morning um i just got woken up with the knowledge of my bank account being way in the negatives because a bill came in later than it should have and i am not taking it well

i started a new job last week and im not getting my first check until later this week, and theyre mailing it to me so it may come even later. my phone bill needs to be paid (its $54 and i need my phone turned back on just in case my job tries to call me, i dont want to get fired/suspended over this) and of course my fridge is looking empty at the worst time too (literally any amount helps, i just need basic food to last for the next week. im running low on struggle meal ingredients 😅)

im transmasc and queer and i have no family or support system to fall back on, i would take on more commissions but my queue is very full and i want to make a dent in it before i open up again, plus its hard to be creative in a situation like this... i cant afford burnout right now

im so close to being back on my feet, this is my last roadblock and its coming at the worst time. as soon as things get steady with work things will be back to normal!!!

one of the people I'm working on a group project with tried to put AI-generated images into our presentation. I've been procrastinating so I only caught it today. two days before said presentation. the images have been there for five days. how did none of the other group members pick up on this. the images were supposed to be diagrams. none of the labels made sense. I'm going to bash my head against a wall.

Update-ish (I'm back)

Hi kiddos. I'm sorry for our absences lately. That isn't really like us to do. Alot has happened since our last post and it's safe to assume that I'll probably be the only one posting for awhile. And on top of this, our account got purged around midnight where we live, and our account got deleted for a bit. So we had to stay up for hours trying to get it back— unfortunately we weren't able to save our inboxes or messages. so everything is gone. I deeply apologize little ones. We don't have much time to post alot since we have School and then after go to work. But I promise as a single individual I can try my best

The good news is that we have a three day weekend, and I don't have work. Ill try to be as active during that time being. Until then it's mostly just reblogging.

because of the figure post i got curious and ended up reading all of weekly my oniichan and it was surprisingly tame. the manga and illustrations are almost all "cute girls doing cute things"-style moe. the figures (and their accompanying illustrations), which are the most "on-display", are definitely the most risqué part of the package.

I really liked the Mato-chan 4koma series, which I think might have been extended and can be read separately on Mangadex. I want to live in her beautiful bug world

I like the idea of getting together with your buddies because you love moe, designing characters and sculpting them and releasing books fleshing out those characters and their world. there was a nice diversity of offerings in a small package, (process sketches, color comics, illustration series, 4koma, gag pages, character designs, etc) while keeping them in a consistent format, with the same artist contributing the same medium each time.

i particularly liked the idea of yuuno's fantasy figure collection designs (the blood donation set, which is the strongest design-wise imo, even got sculpted as GKs!).

i feel like the format has a lot of potential, basically. it's ambitious--they talked about how it was basically a joke until it wasn't--but it's the kind of thing i'd like to see more of. i suppose kickstarter is where a project like this might happen, but i feel like it doesn't cater to this kind of niche... because of the subject matter and format it has that kind of doujin feel, but critically it has the manufacture backing for the figures.

i wouldn't recommend it to anyone but other moe scholars, but it's worth your time if you are. when i graduate to GK sculpting i hope everyone will make a zine with me

The only language studying advice I’ve got that matters much, as in isn’t take or leave (because most advice really depends on the person and their preferences for how to study), is this:

if you study for enough cumulative hours, and are regularly spending study time on some new material that is requiring you to learn something (compared to picking 1 study material and reviewing it but never ever moving onto a new material with unknowns you must learn), you will make progress. 

Most people, eventually, will move onto studying something regularly challenging them with new material to learn. Usually when they realize they weren’t learning anything new long enough. (I’m a perfectionist so I perhaps realize slower than some people when I’m reviewing material to the point of refusing to move onto new challenging material that would provide more to new stuff to learn). So for the most part, as long as you just study Enough Hours, you will eventually make progress. 

There’s no fancy perfect or ‘better’ study method. Maybe there is for you personally. So it could be fun to explore various study methods. But in the end it mostly comes down to time spent studying. So WHATEVER study methods are ones you can do, and keep getting yourself to do, are the BEST ones for you to make progress with. (And its fine to change study methods if it gets you to KEEP studying). Because in the end, its going to be hundreds or thousands of hours you just need to spend reviewing what you’ve learned by practicing with it, and studying new stuff to increase what you know.

People like to argue sometimes that textbook study is best, or classroom study, or tutors, or immersion, flashcards, mnemonics, context learning, drills, audio lessons, etc. Pick whatever you can stick to, change it if you realize now you can get yourself to Do something else easier. If textbooks are something you get yourself to do, then do them. If you refuse to open textbooks you buy, then use something you WILL use more often. Whatever you pick will work if you put in the study hours. 

TLDR: the best study methods for YOU are the ones you will do, because the amount of total study time you put in is the biggest thing influencing if you make progress. 

Don’t worry too much about if your study method is perfect or if another would be ‘better.’ If you feel like switching it up, have fun. If you feel a method you’d hate looks effective, if you won’t do it then it wouldn’t be effective anyway.

*Note: if you have perfectionist tendencies or tend to stick to trying to master current materials (my worst tendency), my personal suggestion is maybe try to make sure 50% of your study time is spent on something containing Something new and challenging. To make sure you’re regularly making some progress in learning new material. (Examples: if you have read a graded reader then listening to the audiobook would provide at least 1 new thing to challenge yourself and learn - listening skills of those words you read, if you find a new novel chapter with mostly known words but a few new ones - it has some new words to learn and new sentences combinations of words you know, if you are listening to review of something you entirely know and can comprehend in listening then consider trying to shadow the audio so you can challenge yourself with new pronunciation practice, and of course stuff like reading a book/watching a show with a bunch of new words or having a conversation in a new topic would contain new challenging material to learn).

hey. you can contribute meaningfully to a post made up of images in a way that doesn't misuse image ID'ing. you can accurately transcribe an image for the visually impaired and all screen reader users without adding your snarky commentary to said transcription. the fact that you find the OP of a pictured post to be "some cunt" is not relevant to transcribing the image. the legitimacy of israel, while a worthwhile and necessary conversation especially right now, is not relevant when you're transcribing an image featuring an israel flag. these are both real examples I've just seen TODAY of people misusing image transcription to make commentary on the post. in both cases I actually agreed with the opinions of the people writing those transcriptions, but my point is that the transcription of an image is meant to be wholly objective descriptions of the images themselves. PLEASE make your commentary. I'm not saying you shouldn't. but don't hijack a tool primarily for disabled people to do it. describe the image in clear, objective terms, THEN do your aside where you make your comments. come on.

find more of a place though... see you need to understand that a reincarnation does not mean this person we know in this moment at time (32 year old Sparrows, the one i usually go to when answerin more misc. questions) is simply put in a different body but still living on as we know them. it's why... i'm honestly not too fond of these reincarnation questions
