Mizi and Ivan being best friends from the start after Mizi rescues Ivan from a river, and Mizi admiring him as she tries to adjust to life outside the orphanage--somehow still proceeding with relentless hope. Sua with doll-like ruffles in her clothes, practically dead inside thanks to the Mafia, with a massive grudge against Ivan, until she meets Mizi. Till having to live a normal life even though he was part of the sheep as a kid and keeps losing the people he loves as time goes on-- and pissed off that the only mildly neutral repeating presence in his life is Ivan of all people, who is the only person able to keep him alive whenever he uses his dangerous ability. And yes, Ivan would be in his white coat from r6 the whole au.

Hi because of the previous ask I am now kinda curious about what trauma you would like to something as basic as telekinesis. Also I know he technically doesn’t have an ability in bad I am curious what trauma you would write for lovecraft

I'm so sorry, I actually would love to answer your ask though. :D yay! Thank you for the ask!

Telekinesis ability - so on it's own without a character that exists to bounce off of, it's a little harder for me to spitball some sort of OC with a trauma telekinesis ability (because I have so much freedom and so little restriction), but I'll try!!

Let's go with telekinesis = hypervigilance. AHA! I will link this. Hypervigilance is the elevated state of constantly assessing potential threats around you, often found in those with PTSD/CPTSD. I have CPTSD and am plagued with this, so I know exactly how it works from experience. LET ME COOK LET ME COOK I CAN DO IT. Okay. This OC would have CPTSD (all ability users would have the metaphor of PTSD in my BSD AU but in case you didn't see my first ask post about this, I'm confirming that). I'd give OC a childhood spent in turmoil based on their parents' abuse. Okay wait, I'd focus on just one parent being abusive with an enabler partner. Yes. Realism. Focus. Okay.

Abusive parent - psychological/emotional combo. Says one thing constantly, means the other thing. Applauded and hailed by those outside the family (and inside the family too) for their outward good deeds and "amazing parenting". The OC is a well-behaved child and has spent their life praised for being so behaved by friends of the family. Rich family, privileged. Nobody would believe there was abuse going on in the home. Parent constantly praises their child and loves on them in public for their natural talents. Anything that they don't like about the child is ignored and swept under the rug as if it doesn't exist, meaning anything the OC child is interested in that isn't supported by the parents is treated like it's not there.

Behind closed doors, torture. Daily. Not in the physical sense, but in the perfectionist sense. OC is told how to think, how to speak, how to act. Though policing is key. If they step a single foot out of line, punishment. They're berated and lectured on how much of a bad person this makes them, and how they need to get their thoughts in order and they need to be only expressing themselves in ways that are beautiful and "right" and happy. They have to be an example for their siblings.

this is just becoming about me and I'm gonna start rambling too much. oh my god. whatever. CONTINUING.

Because of this, OC becomes hyperaware of every thought they ever have, feeling guilty if it ever strays from perfect and "moral" and "good" and "kind". This stress multiplies to the point of developing an anxiety compulsion around never thinking a bad thought or dreaming of a bad thing. However, they're convinced that their parents are constantly thinking badly about them and want them dead because they're such a horrible person. They want to know so badly what their parents really think, because they constantly tell OC that they should have only pure thoughts, but they're hypocritical when it comes to doing so themselves, OC is convinced. After all, what exactly constitutes a "good" or "bad" thought? How are they supposed to know? Their parents seem to think about whatever they want, and everything OC wants is bad, apparently. If nothing else, OC wants to learn how to think like their parents so they can become a good person. Because their parents are good people, obviously, who only want the best for OC.

Their parents feel so alien, though, that OC spends every waking moment reading their parents' expressions for any hint at what they're really thinking, especially when they're being nice. They try to read between the lines of everything said to them. Because of this, boom, ability born. Suddenly they start actually hearing the parents' thoughts, but they believe at first that they've entered some sort of schizophrenic state and the voices are in their head.

Jump to current day, OC has confirmed telekinesis, and reading others' thoughts has made them develop a panic disorder, because seeing into brains means seeing every good and bad thing thought about them, and OC struggles to keep from being a people-pleaser machine that does everything in their power to be what others want them or think them to be so that they can keep others' thoughts as pure as possible.

Hope that....was coherent. Basically OC would be obsessed with people pleasing because of their trauma of having to please their parents just to survive, and then I'd make their emotional arc about coming to realize that thoughts are neutral, anybody is allowed to think anything, and having bad thoughts is actually a great thing, a way to process feelings instead of self-destructing by bottling everything up until it bursts and you have no idea why.

I just left this post for like a whole 30mins reminding myself of the details of Lovecraft and looking for scene compilations of him and hunting for backstory and dude IM ACTUALLY SO STUMPED ON THIS ONE. His non-ability of turning into an eldritch monster is like....it's too basic and unfounded in any reasoning. He just IS an alien monster, and his personality is based on how much of a weirdo he is just because he's an alien monster. So trying to come up with a trauma for him that created this non-ability is impossible, kinda, since his character is founded on him BEING the monster instead of having the monster to use and a backstory (there's literally no backstory on his wiki so I assume bro just exists).

The only trauma I could really give him would be based in his alienation from society as a weird creature-thing. I do love that trope sometimes, so taking his canon traits (it makes him itch when he's the center of attention, he's constantly sleepy, overanxious, and never motivated to do anything i.e. wants things to be over with ASAP), the trauma I could try to tie in would be a Frankenstein-esque plot. People saw him as inherently bad because of what he exists as, not because of anything he's done, and treated him with fear and loathing because of it. And he's so cold all the time, he just wants to be close to somebody warm. He uses the fire as a substitute, but that's not like having a human body. He just wants to be warmmmm!!!! He bundles up to substitute for the lack of human warmth and also to hide as much as possible, he sleeps when he can so he can avoid being seen, and he itches when he's the center of attention because he's been a victim of mob mentality before.

Children have been his one hope, since children are more inclined to accept even weird people, so he's tried his best to make his tentacles into balloon animals and be entertaining so he could make friends (like he did in canon with Q). There!

yknow what i have nothing to do and need to distract myself from *gestures vaguely* and i mentioned it a few times in the last few days so i may as well talk abt that one theory i like

first of all let me say. it's not my own original theory lol i can't remember where i saw it first but it's p common so it'd be a bit hard to trace who was the first to bring it up

second. i know it contradicts some themes or at least some messages bsd is going for. which is why i don't think it's too likely (on the other hand some elements in the story can def allow a plot point of that sort to happen without being contradictory asdfhg matter of perspective ig)

ANYWAY the actual theory:

dazai knows he's in a story and aware that he is a character

backup for that theory:

honestly not much. a minor fourth wall break for laughs (the "wow~" scene. you know the one) isn't really proof, but if it was true it'd add some depth to that scene i think!

the main thing i think is cool abt this theory is how it recontextualizes a lot of things about him;

the thing that made me think abt making this post is that collection of dazai saying "you can't kill me" at various points of the story. most of them have context for each scene (atsushi can't kill him bc nlh will nullify the tiger, fyodor can't kill him bc he has the power of friendship, etc), but the fact the same line repeats multiple times makes it stand out to me

so consider this: dazai is confident that he won't die because he knows he can't die before the story is over, bc that's what the narrative decided. that's why none of his suicide attempts ever work (tho you already know my opinion on why that is, in the context of the story itself). he keeps trying tho bc man. it's tiring to be aware

that being said! well. we know he's been suicidal from a very young age. he sees no meaning in the act of living. and, being a character in a story, knowing that your life is all fake, can certainly make one's life feel meaningless, huh.

and ofc, alienation from those around him, since he seems to be the only one aware of the story. he is quite literally separate from the human experience bc of this

also some more angst :) i do firmly believe dazai feels a lot of guilt, more for meta reasons than him really showing it. guilt is a very big repeating element in no longer human and its protag yozo, whom i think dazai is obviously very inspired by. soooooo now consider this :) guilt over odasaku's death. in the context of the story, there is no reason for him to feel that, more or less. maybe nothing beyond "if only i called ango out earlier" "if only i got there in time and got him help", he didn't actually cause oda's death, not more than mori did for example, and he did the best he could too.

buuuuuuut what if he's a character in a story. he doesn't know if the story is about him yet, but given how other people around him don't seem to notice they're characters, it must be, right? the narrative depends on him. and, in that narrative, odasaku ends up dying. if he didn't exist, odasaku could live (really interesting to think abt that in the context of beast, too)

actually since i brought it up. beastzai definitely seems to know he's a character. he knows his existence doesn't mean much, i mean his whole universe is just an offshoot of the main one, literally an au of canon. that's even more meaninglessness on top of canonzai's meaninglessness, and he experienced both of them at once. no wonder he ended up killing himself damn 😩 (sorry this is a joke. ik he killed himself for some noble reason. but also i bet this made it easier)

an awareness of this level can explain some things like how dazai knows things are gonna play out in certain ways - he knows he's in a story, so he knows the narrative has to end in some satisfying way. the main characters have to win, so the doa have to lose. fyodor can't kill him. and we're back to the start

problem with this theory:

that thing i mentioned abt themes and messages in bsd. a lot of the story seems to tell us dazai is HUMAN. having him aware of everything on a meta level, imo, may cheapen that message, bc that quite literally makes him More than others in the universe.

then again the story (and asagiri in interviews lol) also seems to show again and again that he is exceptional and knows best so eh. like i said, matter of perspective

how i think it might work:

yknow how it was said The Book was created by an ability (and that's probably why it caused a singularity when beastzai touched it). well. what if the whole narrative we're following, in a way, in the universe of bsd, can count as an ability too. like a combination of The Book and poe's ability, kinda. (i've seen some theories in the past abt how asagiri is gonna be the final boss of bsd lol and that he would indeed have an ability that's just. *gestures at everything* this)

sooooo while nlh can't take him out of the story physically, it nullifies his ignorance to the situation. in a way, he's out of the story because he sort of watches it from an angle others can't

october was a bit all over the place for me. i was traveling for the first week-ish of the month and then the rest of the month... well, didn't get a lot done but that's partly because I'M GOING TO JAPAN IN THREE DAYS (!!!) so the last few weeks have been a lot of planning/preparing etc. plus stressed about...other things going on in the world, so i just did not have as much mental energy. but oh well that's ok!

i still did a bit more editing of my ya sci-fi book, mostly on One Chapter that has been a pain in my ass. but i think i am almost done with it now and hope to send it out to critique partners soon. i'm hoping i can also do a bit more general editing and be able to send the whole book out to some friends/fam to read for fun (maybe by end of the year at least)... feel like i need a positivity pass very badly lol.

also did a bit of planning on an adult sci-fi book idea i've been thinking about for like... a year-ish now. still am trying to figure out a lot of plot details, but i did at least sorta figure out the ending i think!

i got a fair amount of my sylvix week fic done (i think about 2.5k so far) but uhh not as much as i hoped. i'm nervous about getting it done on time bc i haven't even finished the first chapter (out of a planned 4 chapters) annddd i am gonna be in japan for half the month and have accepted i will not have time to write lol. plus there is thanksgiving and everything after that... 😅 but i will try my best o7

oh yeah i also fell very far down the alien stage rabbit hole (i sure do love that.. angst in space....hahaha) so that has basically consumed my entire brain for the past week. literally like a day after i finished watching all of it / consuming all the bonus content i started planning two fics immediately, one of which i've written like 3k words of notes for so errmmm. i'm not sure when i'll actually have time to write those, maybe if i can actually finish writing a thing or two by the end of the year lmao.

dragon shibu 🐉 - self explanatory. can have a human form or not, depending on what the mod feels like

yokai shibu ⛩️ - specifically a tatsu, though i suppose i would write him as other yokai, depending on what they are. - also has a tiny variant where he's just... kinda small lil guy. can't talk, moreso like an annoying little cat. for him, send 🫙.

revived shibu 🫀 - a shibusawa that was miraculously brought back... he's just kinda here, now. does he regret his actions? ...eh.

chef shibu 🍳 - from an au where the events of bsd are more lighthearted (everyone is a chef).

baby shibu 🥚 - an au like revived shibu, except he's three years old... and in that fog, defeating another's ability would give you it. the ada is raising him in the hopes that someday when he's older he can switch everyone's abilities back to their users. (and while mod hcs shibu in general having PICA, this child's is worse.)

director shibu 🍚 - an au where shibusawa is the director of the special division for unusual powers.

Bc of the stuff you said in the last post abt having magic being very OP I had a thought about how to make it less OP.

Imagine it only working in dire circumstances (like Yosano's from BSD) so it isn't always an option, or causing severe physical harm to the person performing the magic.

And yes! Nihility/Harmony Nazuna ftw he is the Tingyun/Bennet of Magical Girl Arashi.

first of all. Hi!! Hello Nazunon and Anon!!! and a big hi to @neptunite-stars too cuz we're gonna be discussing their ideas too! im making this a list or im gonna go crazy crazyiwascrazyonc-

Powers! (not weapons, we'll get there later)

First (1) option! Healer! Nazunon says to tone down his healing powers while anon says to keep him op to show the great loss he was in Valkyrie. Gotta agree with Nazunon in this one, even if Nito is only in the final battle, a healer with no restrictions is wayy too op and would make the audience feel like there's no reason to feel worried for the main team, because even if they get hurt they can just heal and go back to work :/

A way to prevent this (using Nazunon's example!) is putting conditions! A few ideas are that he can heal only a certain percent (some bruises will keep hurting and cuts may not fully close) due the stressing situation they are, or he can transfer the bruises to his own body, as a way to represent his caring personality yet tendency to take too much. Orrr following Yosano's(BSD) powers as example, he can heal others while hurting them, directly contradicting his personality and making him reluctant to use his powers unless is strictly necessary (kind of -1HP but +5HP per hit lol)

2nd option! Support! Can buff his ally or debuff the enemy, or mabye both, idk. A buff idea is reinforce the clothes/armor of his allies (+DEF/VEL) or weapons (+ATK/VEL), and for the debuff ma~ybe inflict little but progressive dmg, maybe where whenever his attacks hit will make the enemy feel numb which can make them unknowingly ignore the cuts and bruises others make them.

3rd option! straight up a Tank. Also starting with the Weapons and Neptune's ideas. What's the weapon that would make the little guy a walking menace, you ask? A big pair of scissors is answer! like, almost as tall as him. It *has* to be that big to be used as a shield, and when it's closed it will make the shape of a sword!

Very delicatte looking, but strong metal! It has to be able to cut heads after all hahaha!/hj

Now going back to supports/healers, i've got the classic options, staffs and books.

Needle staff and antique books (yes they're from genshin but i didn't really wanted to design the covers, but you get the idea).

The staff has a little floating threads mess in the center from where i think infinite threads should come out, but for specific purposes, like heal or reinforce allies for his healer/buff thing, or he can stab the needle in the ground to make the threads go for the enemies foot, forming sewing patterns on the ground, keeping them trapped in the place.

And the books can have like a bunch of magic/alien fashion history that Nito has to study in depth to properly cast whatever he needs. Need to heal someone's deep cut? gotta know how to do a medical stitch in detail. Wanna tie up someone? study how to properly make the knots or take the risk of them escaping.

Anyways! Those are my takes for Nazuna's weapon/rol, hope y'all enjoyed it. I dont plan making any of them 'canon' unless i make a poll about it or see a bunch people directly saying they preffer a specific one (probably).
