i picked up Unhinged on your recommendation and quickly became obsessed with the series. Asa and Zane are my favorites, that first sex scene where Asa chases Zane through the house? fully lived in my brain for days after i read it. love it. thanks for the recommendation!!!
oh man, I'm so glad you liked it!!! :D Onley James is one of my faves, she always gives me that good shit
I've enjoyed all her books, but besides Shepard's book in the Elite Protection Services series, Necessary Evils (and its two related series, The Watch & Jericho's Boys) really hits the spot for me.
Plus, her author tag line is Murder is my love language, could that BE anymore me-coded? no, no it couldn't.
The only one of the Necessary Evils books I didn't really love was Thomas & Aiden's book? I feel like there was too much build up for it to turn out that way but maybe that's just me. I've only read it once, maybe if I read it again I'd like it more.
Feel free to blab about them any time, seriously, I hardly have anyone to talk to about m/m books

Mad Man - Onley James (Necessary Evils, book 5)
Synopsis
Avi Mulvaney is many things. Son. Twin. Owner of the fashion label, Gemini. Murderous psychopath. Together, he and his brother, Asa, make one brutally efficient monster, ridding the world of predators who victimize the innocent. History proves Avi and Asa don’t do well apart, but their father has decided to test that theory.
Felix Navarro knows exactly who he is. Baby brother. Fashionista. Vigilante. While he’s not happy that his big brother married a Mulvaney, the union has its perks. Like a paid internship with Gemini. But all good things come with a cost and, for Felix, that’s enduring Avi Mulvaney each day, which inevitably leads to thinking about him every night.
Felix doesn’t like Avi. He’s cocky, condescending, overbearing, and inappropriate. He’s also sexy, brilliant, and twice as lethal as Felix. Still, Felix loathes him. Even if he keeps letting him kiss him. And touch him. Even if he slipped just once. It was still hate sex, and it would never happen again. Ever.
Except, Avi’s being sent to help take down a dangerous crime ring and he’s ordered Felix to come along. Felix has vowed to stay strong. To remember he hates Avi. But they’re trapped together and there’s only one bed, and it’s so hard to hate Avi in the dark when he’s whispering how Felix belongs to him. Felix belongs to no man, but Avi is determined. He has one week to prove to Felix that he’s the exception to his rule. After all, who says no to a Mulvaney?
Mad Man is a scorchingly hot, intense, enemies to lovers, psychopath romance with an HEA and no cliffhangers. It features a dirty talking, brutally vicious killer and a sharp tongued murderous fashionista who are both too stubborn for their own good. As always, there’s gratuitous violence, very dark humor, enough blood to film the final scene in the movie Carrie, and enough heat to melt your panties. This is book 5 in the Necessary Evils series. Each book follows a different couple.
TAGS: psychopath, enemies-to-loves, dark humor, much violence, jealousy, bad boys doing bad things, long distance snark, only one bed, hate sex, more hate sex, hate sex that becomes apathetic sex then maybe something like love, if two killers are better than one what’s three killers, Avi is jealous, Asa is preoccupied, August is still August, Lucas is frazzed, Archer is still drunk, Thomas is at his wits end, Aiden is still in denial, Noah is still the psychopath whisperer and Adam is still a dick.
My Thoughts
Avi and Asa haven’t been apart since they were children. But now with Avi taking Felix with him on a mission to help their wayward brother, Aiden, things are bound to be interesting.
Felix is feisty, extremely lethal, and he hates Avi with an extreme passion. But that really only makes him more attractive to Avi. Especially when it’s apparent that Felix doesn’t hate him at all.
But Felix is deathly afraid of losing those closest to him. He built walls so high, and so thick, not even his brother, Jericho, can reach him sometimes. But Avi is determined to break those walls down, and to show Felix that he is Avi’s most important person – other than Asa.
What’s fascinating about this book is the glimpse into Aiden’s life. Aiden, the Mulvaney son we know the least about – just that his relationship with Thomas is extremely strained. Aiden may want as much distance between himself and Thomas as possible, but he’s still Mulvaney through and through – taking out the trash. And when his case captures Felix and Avi’s attention, the three of them team up to do what they do best.
And between all that, Avi and Felix give their relationship a chance. Felix brings his walls down, and he lets Avi in. They share their deepest insecurities, thoughts, and fears. And they vow to continue to communicate their needs to each other – even when Felix promises to be very, very bossy.
As each Mulvaney finds their partner, I’m more and more fascinated and enthralled by these vigilante psychopaths. I guess there are few things I love more than morally grey vigilante murderous psychopaths. Who knew?

1 Kings 16: 29-34. "The Jasmine Flowers."
Tumblr media
This is the end of a section focusing on the aspects of Jewish Royalty that are up and down, but never completely stable; we do not achieve Malchut through the attributes of these persons singly or together. We know this as the Kingdom split, it fell, we are Kingless and thus Kingdomless now as we have been for nearly three thousand years.
No one understands the Torah, no follows the decrees, there is expansion, but not encompassing of the human race in its ambitions. There are excesses and scarcities, utter stupidity, slaughter and filth all around us. We have made them happen. A sovereign personality does none of these things.
All we have read so far detailed how much work God had to invest in disciplining and guiding His Kings, none of whom lived long or well enough to shape or change the world.
They wanted more than they could consume, they chased the Beauty Boys around, worshipped their penis cocks and payed homage to their own, built altars between themselves and their subjects, burnt incense, filled the air with confusing foggy sweetly scented lies that went bad on them.
We conclude this section with our favorite Royal Foibles, Baal and Jezebel the King and Queen of hell. The question we need to answer is which noble aspects of the Kings of Israel do we yet possess and what can we mound up from them?
Or is Israel to remain a province of Egypt, a meandering, sandering race of noble born men who continue to choose panedemic over purpose?
Ahab Becomes King of Israel
Ahab, "God is Father, God is Brother" was the son of "Ecstatic Worship." We know this goes both ways. There are some brotherhoods out there that are very passionate about all the wrong things and there is no stopping them. Recall the Kingdom did not allow Tibni, the Intelligence Shield to join the mix.
Jews are supposed to be the smartest people on earth. This is a commandment it is not a drill. All worship and all intelligence must be performed at the same time or Sovereignty will be elusive and its enemies will be many:
29 In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab son of Omri became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria over Israel twenty-two years.
30 Ahab son of Omri did more evil in the eyes of the Lord than any of those before him.
31 He not only considered it trivial to commit the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, but he also married Jezebel daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and began to serve Baal and worship him.
32 He set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal that he built in Samaria. 33 Ahab also made an Asherah pole and did more to arouse the anger of the Lord, the God of Israel, than did all the kings of Israel before him.
34 In Ahab’s time, Hiel of Bethel rebuilt Jericho. He laid its foundations at the cost of his firstborn son Abiram, and he set up its gates at the cost of his youngest son Segub, in accordance with the word of the Lord spoken by Joshua son of Nun.
The Thirty Eighth Year of Asa =1630, או‎גאֶפֶס‎, ogapes.
og="bread thrown on the fire" "the baker"
ap=The root cluster עוף ('wp), עיף ('yp), and יעף (y'p) appears to reflect a general sense of elevation, and from that come words that have to do with flight, or with being eminent, or with overshadowing and hence covering or protecting.
This cluster is arguably one of those Scriptural phenomena that reflect the vast complexity and simultaneous simplicity, intelligence and efficiency of the Hebrew language. In translations this verbal unity must sadly be fractured, and a large majority of Bible enthusiasts will never know what treasures lie within.
es="Respond to the counsel; use the wooden idols for kindling, and wake up the mind."
It is used to denote wood for kindling (Joshua 9:23), wood as a building material (Genesis 6:14, 2 Kings 12:13), and items made of wood (Exodus 7:19, Deuteronomy 19:5). And hence it may be used to denote (wooden) idols (Deuteronomy 4:28) or gallows, stake or similar means of execution (Genesis 40:19, Deuteronomy 21:22). The theological meaning of the Biblical tree (from the two trees in Paradise related to the fall of man, to the cross of Christ, to the restored Tree of Life as witnessed by John the Revelator - REVELATION 22:2) seem to promote a relationship with the verb עוץ ('us) meaning to counsel or regard.
Ahab reigned in Samaria, "the nightwatchful place" for 22 years.
22 years alone is 3171, גאז‎‎א, gaza, strength. If we look at the entire phrase, Ahab son of Omri became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria over Israel twenty-two years, a different value is obtained, 5470, ה‎דז‎אֶפֶס, the dzepes.
Dz=das or duz,
"In Mesopotamian thought the shedu was a supernatural protective power for whose presence the gods were invoked," and makes the observation that, "Good and evil are in the moral, not the metaphysical". In The Religion Of Israel, Y. Kaufmann writes, "When the gods of the nations are called shedim it is not meant that they are evil spirits, but that they are insubstantial shades, 'no-gods,' with neither divine nor demonic functions".
epes= see above
The implication of Ahab ruling during this time for this length of time is a spark of enlightenment as to the difference between reading a scripture, where all the gods, angels, and demons play, and how we are really supposed to act in life and how to contrast the nobleman from the diabolic and apply the correct diagnosis, the motivations behind his condition.
When a man acts out and claims it is his Godliness this is called idolatry. It is forbidden because it asks the masses to forigve evil in the Name of God and this is as ridiculous as it is profane.
The greatest example is the Crucifixion. God has not forgiven those Romans for that murder conducted so calledly in His Name. It is doubtful He ever will. This obscenity has warped humanity since.
To marry oneself and humanity alongside oneself to obscenity is to create a graven image, one that is fixed indelibably in the mind. We are sentient however and can scrub the writing about that nonsense surrounding how holy and saced things really are without much effort, correct?
Omri did not explain the errors of the former kings with ethical conduct, and he in fact was worse, creating a graven image, a habit for iniquity in his court:
v. 31 explains: The King also married Jezebel daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and began to serve Baal and worship him.
Jezebel= "do not cohabitate with this girl."
Ethbaal=
The ubiquitous particle את ('et) usually marks the accusative (the subject of a sentence) but often has an unclear function. Sometimes it (or an identical second particle) indicates a close relationship between the words that surround it, and can be translated with "with" or "near."
The form את ('et) is also the base of the four second person pronouns, meaning "you": (אתה, you man; את, you woman; אתם, you men and אתן, you women).
Baal="The god on the ground"
The verb בעל (ba'al) means to exercise dominion over; to own, control or be lord over. The ubiquitous noun בעל (ba'al) means lord, master and even husband, and its feminine counterpart בעלה (ba'ala) means mistress or landlady.
God is obviously called 'lord' all over the Bible and the sin of the Baal priests (1 Kings 18:40) was not that they called upon some other deity but rather their incessant howling of the word 'lord' without any further responsibility or effects (see Matthew 7:21 and 11:4-5).
The King married someone no one with sense would marry, and then she and the king nurtured irresponsibility within one another. Of what type?
He set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal that he built in Samaria. Ahab also made an Asherah pole and did more to arouse the anger of the Lord, the God of Israel, than did all the kings of Israel before him.
Asherah Poles are big dirty penises. They do not do a good job of setting policy, excuting the law, or providing good and plenty for the nation, just for the unsanitary hootchies that come calling.
=5167, ה‎אוז,‎ ‎"the Oz".
An Oz is a strong man. This goes both ways. It can mean "refuge" or "sharp, intelligent" it can also mean a powerful despot, an autocrat. The people know when they are the ones going up on the chopping block and then the funeral pyre instead of all that ails society.
About the Strong Man, In Matthew 12:29, Jesus said people were seeing Him “bind the strong man,” referring to Satan. This means the king, the people, the temple, all of society need to reject the strength of the Strong Man and rule according to the principals prescribed by secular law.
Shame never once barred a freak or a fuckup from brutalizing his people, only the law has the strength that can match a strong man and take back the power he stole. Religion can prevent him from surfacing from the ranks again, but once the dim of wit allow a tyrant to surface, the law is the only thing that can overpower him:
see v. 34:
In Ahab’s time, Hiel of Bethel rebuilt Jericho. He laid its foundations at the cost of his firstborn son Abiram, and he set up its gates at the cost of his youngest son Segub, in accordance with the word of the Lord spoken by Joshua son of Nun.
Hiel= Life Itself
The verb חיה (haya) means to live and life is all about resonance between elements — molecules working together to make a living cell, cells working together to make a living organism and human minds working together to make a living nation.
Adjective חי (hay) means living and adjective חיה (hayeh) means lively. Noun חיה (hayya) means life or living thing, and may also be used to describe a vibrant community. Plural noun חיים (hayyim) literally means livings but describes the whole palette of activities a living being engages in: one's making-a-living.
Bethel= the House of God
Jericho=the Fragrant Place, (refers to the jasmine and orange flowers that grow there)
Abiram= "father of pride, not of arrogance"
Segub=spiritual warfare in large numbers
Our verb focuses on the unified behavior of any closely interlinked group, whether it's an army that moves as a single unit but with separate divisions (Numbers 31:7), or Levites serving in the tabernacle (Numbers 4:23) or women serving at the tabernacle's entrance (Exodus 38:8). Since in the Old Testament large, unified groups are usually armies, this verb mostly expresses military engagement. But to conclude that our verb is essentially military — and therefore that the servants of the tabernacle were engaged in spiritual warfare (as per HAW Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament) — is fantastic and wildly off the wall.
Joshua= freedom from oppression
The verb ישע (yasha') means to be unrestricted and thus to be free and thus to be saved (from restriction, from oppression and thus from ultimate demise). A doer of this verb is a savior. Nouns ישועה (yeshua), ישע (yesha') and תשועה (teshua) mean salvation. Adjective שוע (shoa') means (financially) independent, freed in an economic sense.
Nun=many persons living in prosperous conditions.
Here we have it: It is the King of Israel's responsibility to ensure this world, the House of God is wholly inhospitable to tyrants and tyrantitas, dull or dumb persons who rule oppressively without government, science, or technology at their disposal.
Should the world fall prey to such persons, the Melachim says large numbers of educated persons should act in the Name of the Lord and remove them power.
As for what happens to humanity after that: The answer is found in the meaning of for the jasmine fragrance found in Jericho:
After Reuben did teshuvah, he merited bringing the duda’im [jasmine flowers], (Gen. 30:14) which resulted in the birth of Issachar, who is from the good side of Cain the firstborn. Eve said when Cain was born, "I have acquired a man with G‑d," (Gen. 4:1) which is actually an allusion [to Cain’s rectification through Issachar], since both Eve and Leah were from the level of bina, which as we know is called Imma Ila’a [the supernal maternal aspect].
The answer is: We rebound. We organize around the principals that have never let us down, that bring out the good in us and we never stop teaching why must never stop. That is the binah, the "foundation of learning" indicated by this Kabbalah of the Scent of the Jasmine Flowers. We don't have a King of Israel or a Kingdom of Israel but we do have the binah, and that means no matter what has happened, all is not yet lost.

3. Pertemuan gue dan AP di bumi perkemahan di korea, disitu gue sedang melakukan uji coba tenda pengungsi, yang cukup canggih karena dilengkapi dengan pengatur suhu di kala musim panas dan dingin, juga perangkat keperluan pokok lainnya seperti peralatan masak praktis dan peralatan utk tidur sperti sleeping bag, selimut, bantal dan lain lain, tenda dan pernak perniknya serupa dengan point 2 tapi alur cerita pertemuan pertama dengan AP yang membuat berbeda, disini AP dibuat cukup putus asa dan very lonely ( this is real facts) dia pingsan dan blackout karena too much alcohol consumption, akhirnya dia mengalami kelumpuhan saraf temporary but will be pemanent apabila kebiasaan minumnya tidak dihentikan, akhirnya gunsama meminta gw untuk merawat sampai AP benar2 pulih kembali, dan itu cukup makan waktu 2-3 bulan, dari situ kedekatan terbangun, AP merasa gaj sendirian, merasa ada yang mengurus merasa ada teman ngobrol dan berdiskusi
4. Ide yang lain adalah ketika gw lagi menghabiskan beberapa waktu di korea, tinggal di sebuah desa kecil yang damai dengan pemandangan gunung dan pantai yang indah ( i dont where in korea 😁) tau2 suatu malam yang cukup berbadai, AP yang sedang galau dan mabuk ( galau terus yak 😁) akhirnya tidak bisa mengendalikan mobil sportnya dengan baik akhirnya menabrak pagar rumah gw, untung kondisinya tidak cidera sedikitpun tapi mobil dan pinggang kebawahnya mendadak mengalami kelumpuhan temporary ( bisa jadi karena too much alcohol consumption) dari situ pertemuan kami dimulai
5. Ide yang lain adalah pertemuan kami yg pertama pada saat ada bakti sosial di suatu daerah di korea ( i dont know where either) dimana melibatkan banyak yayasan sosial termasuk diantaranya yayasan tempat gw bekerja & yayasan tempat AP rutin menyumbang, dia melihat gw sedang ngisi workshop disitu, kenalan dengan dokter Lee, dokter Lee yang ngenalin AP ke gw, lanjutannya bisa nyambung ke point 3
Demikian sekilas ide2 untuk dijadikan bahasan tulisan gw kedepan

@devils-messenger from HERE
How he kept running into Vash was a mystery...though it could have been that he was drawn to the mans scent subconsciously. This was not that scent however. This was hot. It punched him in the libido. It sizzled in his nose and forced him to dig nails into his palms to keep the growl down.
“Actually, i was just thinkin about ya. Funny how that shit works sometimes.” That was not actually why he was there, he had no reason to be there. Now, however; he had every reason to stay with the man. “Look at ya, yer so tired yer passin out on your feet. Let’s get you to bed...”
It was an order, and he did not wait for a response, taking Vash by the arm and practically dragging him back up the stairs. “Remember when I said you had a scent that brought out the beast in me, Vash?” It took him a good moment to realize he might be gripping his arm a bit too hard. “Now you smell like a drone lookin to catch the queens eye...” He was panting, he couldn’t stop it. Fucking pheromones...

Mad Man by Onley James
Summary: Felix Navarro can't stand Avi Mulvaney. He can't stand all the extra work Avi gives him which forces them to spend time together. He can't stand how no amount of biting sarcastic comments seem to faze Avi. He especially can't stand how Avi always calls him kitten. At least that's what he keeps telling himself. The truth is that Avi has been the star of all of Felix's fantasies for months. So when Avi is forced to spend a weekend apart from his twin and drags Felix along on some family business to keep him distracted, Felix protests but eventually relents as always. Except there's only one bed and Felix is learning about all of Avi's insecurities and oops maybe Felix is in love with a psychopath.
Thoughts: This is definitely my favorite book of the 'Necessary Evils' books so far, a series which focuses on seven psychopathic brothers who dole out vigilante justice to criminals who get away with their atrocities because the justice system failed. To be fair, I have thought that about every book in the series as I've read them. I've been waiting for Avi and Felix's story since the moment they laid eyes on each other in book three of this series and this definitely did not disappoint. The banter is hilarious and watching Avi try to figure out how to be a good partner is endearing and entertaining. Because the attraction and the inevitability of the relationship was established before this book began, the entire is just the two of them grappling with their own traumas and insecurities as they try to navigate what it would be like to be together. Another reason this book has been my favorite so far is that it's the first one that has a scene that actually features all of the brothers and their significant others together and interacting. I love the romance, but the brotherly ribbing and griping and teasing in this book was also fantastic.
Meet Cute: Avi and Felix meet in 'Moonstruck', book three of the series which features Avi's brother, Atticus, and Felix's brother, Jericho. Hoping to get into fashion major Felix's good graces, Atticus organizes for him to do a paid internship at Avi's athletic wear label. Avi is immediately smitten when they meet for the first time, but Felix is having none of it.
"I hear you'll soon be working…under me." The implication in his words had Atticus cringing. This was why Asa did most of the talking.
Felix scoffed, raking his gaze over Avi before flicking his eyes away as if he'd been weighed, measured, and found lacking in anything Felix wanted. "I'll be working with you. I don't work beneath anybody," he said, boredom bleeding into his tone.
Avi smirked. "That's okay. I'm sure you'll look just as good on top."
Circumstances That Throw Them Together: Avi and his twin, Asa have never been apart for more than a few hours at a time. Wanting to conduct an experiment, their father, Thomas sends Avi by himself on an assignment to help his brother Aiden on the other side of the country. Knowing that he won't fare well on his own, Avi forces Felix to come along in order to keep himself distracted. Asa's book takes place concurrently with Avi's and I will say it's clever to set the love stories of the twins who can't be apart on the same timeline.
The Sizzle: The sexual tension is definitely there from the first meeting and Felix and Avi actually hook up in the first chapter of the book. The will they/won't they aspect of the romance comes from Felix insisting that it's completely casual while Avi is completely certain that Felix is his person
"You have a snake tattoo," Avi murmured.
Felix's cheeks turned pink, his gaze sliding away. "Yeah, so do you? It's not uncommon?"
"We get the snake tattoo when we make our first  successful kill. Why did you get yours?" Avi asked.
"Because Jericho has a snake tattoo," he said, still refusing to look at him.
"Jericho got a snake tattoo as a symbol of loyalty to Atticus and our family. Noah and Lucas have them, too."
Felix was crimson now. "So what?"
"Nothing," Avi lied.
Felix was embarrassed, even Avi could see that, but he didn't get why. As far as he was concerned, it was all the proof he needed that Felix was meant to be his. He'd already been branded a  Mulvaney. His Mulvaney.
The First Kiss: As I mentioned before, it happens in the first chapter. It follows a slap, which is very on brand for these two.
Conflict: There's a couple. There's the external conflict where Felix is helping the Mulvaneys take down some bad people and then there's a few interrelationship conflicts. There's one that centers on Felix not wanting to admit that what he and Avi have means something because he's afraid that it will be taken away and there's another that involves Felix coming to terms with the fact that dating Avi means that doors are going to open for him that may not have been accessible before.
Love Confession: It happens over text, which I don't generally love, but considering Avi says it first and it's kind of just casually thrown into their conversation, I will accept it.
Happily Ever After: They take down the bad guys, Felix starts his own brand, and they get married.

Book #16:
Tumblr media
Mad Man (Necessary Evils Series) by Onley James
“Not another one Land…” you say. To that I say immediately no! Where is this this judgment coming from and can we never do it again! First off, this dropped on the 7th and you know how I feel about this series. Secondly, I have this thing with numbers and when it comes to duets I think the first book should fall on an odd number and the second book should fall on an even number. So, there!!
So, book five in the series focuses on Avi (Asa’s twin and mirror opposite Felix (who we met in book three and is Jericho’s brother). These two together are just so good Avi and his lovable derp ways has my heart. And the case this book hits just as hard.
Overall: ⭐️ 5/5 🌶 4.5/5

Names For Scrivener
I wanted more names for my scrivener so I looked up a long ass list of names and formatted it to be uploaded by scrivener for the random name generator.
I will say there are 1,000 boy and girl names in this list but they dont have an ethnicity or name meaning tagged on them. I wanted to just do a quick thing for names to import on scriveners name generator. I figured I might as well share it all. Its under the read more if you want the list ^^ I didnt want to make a giant ass post followers who didnt care would have to deal with.

Headcase - Onley James (Necessary Evils, book 4)
Synopsis
Asa Mulvaney is half of a psychopathic whole. He and his twin brother live together, party together…kill together. In the Mulvaney family, murder is the family business and business is good. When an experiment separates Asa and his brother, Asa is forced to navigate the world on his own for the first time in his life.
Zane Scott is a small-time crime blogger and amateur sleuth, but he dreams of a byline in a major paper someday. When he winds up at a boring fundraiser beside Asa Mulvaney, they share an intensely passionate encounter that leaves Zane with an ache in his chest and a story idea that could make his career dreams a reality.
At a nearby college, a cluster of suicides isn’t what it seems. When Asa’s father asks him to look into it, he sees the perfect opportunity to see his little crime reporter again. And Asa needs to see him again. Zane’s suspicious of Asa’s motives, but he won’t say no to a chance to peek behind the Mulvaney family curtains.
As the two unravel a sinister plot, Asa’s obsession with Zane grows and Zane finds being Asa’s sole focus outweighs almost anything, maybe even his career–which is good for Asa because loving a Mulvaney is a full-time job. Can he convince Zane that he’s worth navigating a family of psychopaths and his pathologically jealous twin, or will Zane learn the hard way that the Mulvaney boys always get what they want? Always.
Headcase is a high heat, intense, lovers-to-frenemies, psychopath romance with an HEA and no cliffhangers. It features an obsessive, calculating psychopath and a wannabe reporter who will stop at nothing to earn himself a major byline. As always, there’s gratuitous violence, very dark humor, enough killers to fill an auditorium, and enough heat to melt your kindle. This is book 4 in the Necessary Evils series. Each book follows a different couple.
TAGS: psychopath romance, Asa is bored, Avi is jealous, Zane is pretty, Adam is still a dick, August is… August, Aiden’s still missing, Lucas is concerned, Atticus plays den mother to a gaggle of murderous young adults, Asa wants Zane but knows he suspects he’s a killer, Zane wants a story but can’t keep from falling into bed with his target, extra dark humor, found family, So. Many. Murderers, mysteries abound, bad boys doing bad things and each other, high non-relationship angst, low relationship angst, shmoop, fluff, smut.
My Thoughts
Zane has dreams of becoming a crime reporter, and he’s spent months following the trail of bodies that seem to surround the Mulvaneys and their partners. When he encounters Asa at an event, he thinks he’s found his in. But Zane is in for way, way more than he bargained for.
When discovering the Mulvaney family secret – they’re the psychopath sons of an eccentric (and apparently very handsome) billionaire who take out the trash that slip through the criminal justice cracks – he doesn’t expect things to hit so close to home. But they do, and Zane has to rely on Asa to get him through.
Zane leans heavily on Asa. Asa keeps him going, keeps him from spiraling. He also keeps him rather blood thirsty. Zane’s brother was the victim of a sick and twisted game run by sick and twisted people (even by Mulvaney standards). And Zane won’t rest until they’re all taken out. And Asa won’t rest until Zane gets his closure.
The start of their relationship is a little rough around the edges, but they soon build a foundation on communication and honesty. Zane communicates his needs, and Asa communicates his desires. They find a balance that works for them. And they make it work. Zane even manages to win over Asa’s twin, Avi, who is more territorial of Asa than anyone else. And considering Avi’s fixation with Jericho’s brother, Felix, whatever lies ahead for the four of them is bound to be intense.

A short, fluffy timestamp to my Bill/Sarah universe to celebrate their anniversary.
As always, thanks to @warlockwriter for the beta and the moodboard!
Timestamp:  October 6, 2020
They’d made it to their seventh anniversary.  After the bombs, Bill had thought they wouldn’t make it to their third.  They survived the ASA too, for a few sketchy years. Two kids, too.
Now here they were, in their second year of being United States citizens again – and their seventh year since they said “I do.”
Bill sat at his desk, looking at the picture of Sarah that he kept on the right corner, where he could always see it.  He loved that picture, almost as much as he loved her.
There was a light rap on the door to his office and he looked up to see Sarah herself.
“What are you doing here?” he asked.  “Is everything okay?”
She stepped in and held a hand out to him.  “Kids are at mother's’ day out and everything’s fine, but you’re stepping out of the office for a bit.  Come with me.”
Bill gave Sarah a look. “Babe.  I can’t just leave mid-morning.”
“I’ll have you back by lunch,” she promised.  “Maybe the end of lunch.  You’ll have your radio on you, if they need you.”
Bill knew he wasn’t going to win this argument.  He took Sarah’s hand and followed her from the station.  A couple of deputies, manning the office, watched her lead him out with something like amusement.
Hmph.  Let them get married and see if they wouldn’t do the same thing.
“Where are we going?”
“We’re going to get my anniversary present,” Sarah replied lightly.  “And maybe yours, too, if you like it.”
Well, Bill was lost. He let Sarah bundle him into the van and rode with her down Main Street to Jericho’s only jeweler.
“You want jewelry?” he asked, confused.  Sarah didn’t really wear much jewelry day-to-day.
“Not for me,” she explained.
Oh.  He had an idea now.  “Sarah, do we really need to spend money on this?”
Sarah shot him a glare. “For four years now, you’ve gone without a ring.  That’s over half our marriage!  Things are normal again, you’re working a regular shift again – heck, you even have weekends off!  This should go back to normal, too.”  A frown crossed her face.  “Unless you’ve decided you don’t want a ring?”
Bill glanced down at his hand where a wedding band should be.  He used to wear his grandfather’s; he’d lost it the night of the bombs when it was stolen by the fugitives that stuffed him and Jimmy into the trunk of their own patrol car.  He could still hear the one man’s cheerful “Mine now,” as he plucked the ring off Bill’s finger.
A light hand touched his leg and Sarah was watching him, concerned.  “You’re thinking about that night and the trunk, aren’t you?  I was hoping this was a way to put that behind you.”
Sarah made sense. “Let’s do it,” he said, “before I change my mind about the money.”
They walked in, hand-in-hand, and perused the cases until they found men’s wedding bands.  Sarah pointed out a simple gold one, like he’d had, but others caught his eye.  There were different widths and styles and metals – some even professed to be titanium.
“Do you see one you like?” murmured Sarah.
Bill had zeroed in on a few plain ones: the gold band Sarah pointed out, a silver one that matched it, and a silvery titanium one that didn’t seem quite as rounded as the other two. He thought that one might be more comfortable; less metal sticking out from his finger.
He nodded and looked up, catching the eye of a saleswoman.
“Would you like to try some on?” she asked.
Bill pointed out the three he’d picked out.
With an amused smile on her face, Sarah watched the saleswoman size Bill’s finger.  “I knew you’d go for the plain ones,” she said.
“If you knew that, why didn’t you just buy me one yourself?”  Bill wasn’t upset; he was just curious.
“I might have been wrong.” She shrugged.
Bill tried on the three rings and based on price, had it down to the silver or the titanium.  They didn’t look much different.
He was wearing the titanium one when the saleswoman said, “That a popular one these days.  Titanium doesn’t tarnish or scratch easily.  Lots of men like the durability.”
That sold Bill on it. He might spend most of his days behind a desk, but he did get summoned to help with a call every now and again and you never knew what you were getting into.  Durability would be good.
Sarah paid for the ring and insisted it go in a ring box instead of letting Bill wear it out. “I’m keeping you until lunch, remember? You’ve still got an hour.”
What else did she have planned?
He figured it out when she drove over the Tacoma Bridge.  They were off to Stanley’s, where he’d proposed to her.
Sarah got a market tote out of the back of the car and carried it halfway up the rise to Stanley’s house, about where they’d been the night of the proposal.  She instructed Bill to grab the blanket from the trunk.
He spread it out and waved at Mimi and Caroline, who’d come out to the front porch to see who was there. Sarah must have cleared this beforehand, because Mimi waved back and led Caroline back into the house.
Motioning for him to sit down, Sarah pulled out sandwiches and two small bowls of salad.  “Sorry it’s not more gourmet.  I didn’t know how long you’d take at the jeweler’s.”
Bill grinned and reached for his sandwich.  “Whatever you made is perfect.”
“Good,” Sarah said. She pulled the ring box out of the tote and sat on her knees facing him.  “Because I want to ask you to wear a ring again.  To profess to the world you chose someone to spend your life with, and that that someone is me.  To choose me again.  Will you, Bill?”
Her speech was more eloquent than his proposal had been, but Sarah had always been better with words. If he also thought this was less daunting a situation, he kept that hidden away.
He took the ring from her and put it on.  “Babe, I choose you every single day, ring or not.  And every single day, you’re worth it.  I’ve never doubted it, but if I did, all I’d have to do is look at the boys to know it’s worth it.”
He leaned in and tugged lightly on the back of her neck, pulling her closer.  She went down on hands and knees and he kissed her, holding one cheek in his hand.  “Happy Anniversary,” he whispered when they broke apart.
Sarah sat back up and reached for his left hand.  She kissed his fingers just below the ring.  “I choose you, too,” she said.  “And I hope we have many more anniversaries together.”
“We will,” Bill said. “We’re going to grow old and decrepit and make Nathan and Wes take care of us and this ring better still be shiny or I’m going to go back and complain that I was misled about the durability.”
Sarah laughed and the sound was music to Bill’s ears.

HEADCANONS
Tocava magistralmente a flauta.
