Could you draw Batman in Dan Mora's style with copic markers with microns? I'm thinking Bats in only black and white and his surroundings in color. He stands semi-visibly in dark shadows in The AlleyTM where his parents died. He's looking at their bodies which are also only in black and white. It's to give off the feeling of being trapped in the past. Maybe little kid Bruce is also among the corpses? I'm not describing a panel I saw, I swear, but it's a scene that hasn't left me for a while.
Feel free to change anything, it's your art and work after all lmao
Would be super happy if you decided to do it, but not necessary if you don't want to!! Take all the time you want!! Thank you!
I finally finished it! It was definitely a challenge to do in Dan Mora's style, but I think I pulled it off okay lol. I intentionally made the bricks a little wonky because I wanted to give off the weirdness and Tim Burton like style that I think of when I think of gotham. I also added the bats in the background last minute because I thought it would look cool behind batman and kind of contribute to the ominous vibe of it all.
The materials I used:
Copic markers: black, cobalt blue, and ultramarine
Micron pens: brush tip, graphic 1, and 05
Canson XL series oil and acrylic paper pad 9×12"
For any of my Fort Wayne people (or people in the Indiana and Ohio area) all my materials came from United Art and Education, an awesome store off Clinton that is literally dedicated to art supplies and educational stuff (literally nicknamed the teacher store). They have stuff I have never even thought about, like wood carving, print/bock printing, etc. Check it out! They also have a website you can order online! (P.S. I may or may not work there and get 20% off)
Anyway, the reference photos I used:
I hope you like it! Thanks for the ask!!
P.s I feel awful for this, but I gotta just put it out there that I do accept tips and my website it linked in the description!

Artist Research Post 5- Ellie Ivanova
Bulgarian-born fine art photographer Ellie Ivanova uses her photography to highlight the manipulation of reality by memory and the creation of myths. She explores memory and identity in both traditional and experimental photography. Her signature style is set in haptic photography (when using perspective and depth to create interesting framing).
She is experimental in her photography and the way she formats which produces photographic objects that allow the image to evolve and shift its original image. She uses processes such as mordancage ( an alternative photographic process that alters silver gelatin prints to give them a degraded effect), embedded photograms, stitching, ripping, and printed surface deformation to create unique effects.
Her works, displayed in galleries and museums across the United States, are part of permanent collections, including those at Human Rights Art at South Texas College and Fort Wayne Museum of Art. According to Ivanova, her “processes and conceptual approaches through which images continue to evolve after they have been captured and printed, blurring the edges between the factual and the fictitious.”
Not only does Ivanova shoot her photography but she also runs the Third Eye Workshops, which offers photography workshops for children and youth in Roma communities in Bulgaria. These workshops can empower low-income children by providing tools for visual self-expression.
I think Ivanova’s photography is very unique, I love how in her process of creating art she destroys it. This to me is a unique technique I have not come across yet. So often we are trying to ensure that our images are discernible and sharp but Ivanova goes against this. She mixes both studio art and photography to create beautiful works of art. What I can learn from Ivanova is to experiment with different techniques and mediums and not to limit myself in the editing process of my photography.

Im assuming the three are the trio? Valerie gets added last minute, and dani (from the waynes perspective) appeared out of nowhere and girlbossed anyone who questioned it. If jazz is going to gotham u, she also temporarily moves into the manor while the team is in gotham. Im just imagining the fentons/team phantom behaving like invasive species. Bruce invited a few of them, so the rest aren't far behind. They're a package deal.
I like good fenton parents, so they and some of danny's friendlier rogues are holding down the fort while team phantom is away.
Danny instantly clocks bruce and damian as the foreign visiters and immediately investigates. His experience with fruitloop billionaires has him going down to find the batcave. He hasnt been in the manor longer than five minutes and has already figured out everyones identities.
He doesnt keep secrets from his team either. Qualms about outing another hero? No. His team works together as a single unit. Communication was a hard won lesson as they fought for their (after)lives. (Literally the only time they keep secrets is if sharing intel threatens the stability of the timeline, which requires proof in the form of a clockwork sticky note demanding them to not tell.) If his team is staying in batmans home, they have a right to know.
Listen, if batman and robin witnessed them facing The Horrors(tm) like an everyday chore, then team phantom deserves to be a well-oiled butt-kicking machine.
I'd imagine bruce's motives for arranging a student exchange program and inviting the trio to stay with him was to analyze them more closely, possibly train up some of their weak points, and flesh out more thorough contigencies. But i think it'd be really funny if he just *continues* to be one step behind them the whole way.
He orchestrates a scenario where he "discovers" one of them has powers to get an opening to talk about it?
Bruce: so you have powers?
Danny: wasnt exactly hiding it.
Bruce: i dont know how things are where youre from (absolute lie), but here in gotham, flaunting powers is dangerous. It could make you a target.
Danny: more dangerous than inviting a team of unknown meta-adjacents to live in your home right on top of your secret lair slash vigilante hq?
Bruce offers to train them?
Danny and jazz: our mom's a ninth degree black belt and both of our parents are inventors and expert weapons handlers. We learned martial arts, modern weapons handling and how to pilot over fifty different types of vehicles just from them.
Valerie: i joined the team already as a ninth degree black belt.
Danny and ellie: we have multiple mentors in the realms that have helped us master each of our powers, and trained us in fighting handicapped with restricted powersets and limited or no access to powers.
Tucker: i hacked into the batcomputer in less than five minutes without even using any technopathy.
Sam: AND we've all trained under Lady Pandora with dozens of different types of traditional and historical weapons. I'm pretty sure that makes us all honorary amazons.
Bruce wants to see how well they work as a team and partnered up with various bats to gauge their skill sets?
Ellie with damian: Ellie is better at disarming damian than any of the bats. How so? She goads him into attacking, deliberately lets him successfully land a hit, and absorbs the weapon into her body. Bruce tried to prevent it, but damian eventually snapped and full body tackled her, not holding back. Somehow, neither got worse than bruises and ellie declared damian her new best friend. Damian has changed loyalties.
Tucker, Tim, and Barbara: tim and barbie started out trying to guage tucker's level of ability. They started a hackathon that lasted a whole weekend, nobody slept, and nearly every socialite in gotham connected to the court of owls was arrested for some exposed crime or another.
Jazz: everyone she gets paired with ends up bawling their eyes out, beelining straight to bruce to give him a hug and insist that he needs to spend some one-on-one with her as well. Jason straight up proposed to Jazz and declared that he'll change his name to Fenton. Somehow, he now has ghost powers. Both insist that they had absolutely nothing to do with the joker's severed remains washing up in gotham harbor two weeks later, which might actually be true as all of jazz's free time is currently being spent adopting talons.
Danny, Cass, and Stephanie: Bruce is very certain that he'll be cleaning glitter out of the cave until the end of time.
Valerie and duke: they seem perfectly behaved, but bruce just knows their hiding something. He knows it deep in his bones. (Plot twist: valerie killed the joker.)
Sam and dick: dick introduced sam to harley and ivy. Sam has disowned her parents and declared ivy to be her adopted mom. Nobody else in team phantom is surprised by this turn of events and have advised bruce to 'just let her get the pent up aggression out of her system. She's earned it."
Bruce sitting at the batcomputer staring at the empty file called "team phantom contingencies" with soul crushing despair?
Danny: here's my contingency file. All plans are categorized by how physically painful they would be, how temporary or permanent the measures would last, and what kind of long term consequences each would have.
DP x DC Prompt: The Watchlist
Batman has a watchlist. A list that contains every individual who could become a rouge and a contingency plan for if they did.
And while they, his children, often make fun of his paranoia and him for having it, they totally understand why he did. They lived in Gotham, for Christ's sake. Where everyone’s just a pin drop away from being the city’s next big villain, forcing the bats to scratch their heads while playing cat and mouse with a sicko for a good few weeks. And while they won’t admit it, the list has helped them a few times.
But that won’t stop them from making fun of any of the list’s new developments. Because you see, there was a new list. And it wasn’t just a watchlist. No, no, no. It was The Watchlist.
It was a new development after he and Robin went on an out-of-state mission to investigate some town in bum fuck nowhere Illinois. And it was under some pretty tight security as well, so they were expecting something good, like mad scientists or evil mayors. Not profiles of the kids who lived in the town. And while there were a few metas and vigilantes that made the list interesting, by the end of it all they just seemed to be teenagers.
Until they saw Damian. They hadn’t seen him since he came back from the mission with B. He looked tired. Like ‘Tim hasn’t slept in a week and is surviving on just coffee beans’ tired.
“Ah, I see you all have found it. Good. A few of them will be arriving next week as they’re a part of Gotham Academy’s student exchange program. At least three of them will be staying in the manor with us. Father will need you all to be on standby and to be ready for any possible scenario. Please, for the love of all that is good, do not encourage them in any way, shape, or form. And please do not dismiss them either. The outcome of doing that will be much worse. Is there more that I should add? Yes. Will I? No, because you won’t understand. Not until you've seen what I have.”
The demon child sighed, then looked them dead in the eyes. “Godspeed to us all.” Then walked away.
Okay, they were scared now.

Beckie Gacki (Mark), COM MA 1997
While working toward my undergraduate degree, I never dreamed of earning a Masters. It wasn’t until about a decade after graduating that the desire to go back to school hit. Not knowing which degree I wanted to pursue, I left my options open. I just wasn’t sure if I should expand upon my undergraduate degree or if moving onto something else was the best approach.
As I read through the programs offered at Indiana University / Purdue University Fort Wayne, as it was known at that time, there were so many options. Once I came across the Master of Arts (MA) in Professional Communication, all of the classes sounded interesting. However, my concern was that the stereotypical jobs for someone who held such a degree, did not interest me. For example, they seemed to lend themselves towards having primary responsibilities of writing which was not my forte.
As I weighed my options, my father reminded me that graduate school was not a trade school. Rather, he noted that if I felt that my communication skills, including the written word as well as critical thinking and problem solving, could be enhanced as I transitioned my professional career path, then perhaps this was the right program for me.
I am so glad I listened. I never would have believed had someone told me at the start of the program that during it, I would improve my writing skills enough to earn a 100% on a written assignment … me, the girl who nearly failed her undergraduate English class! That I would be given the opportunity to be a graduate assistant and teach an undergraduate level Communication class for Purdue University. And, under the guidance of Dr. Marcia Dixon, I would complete a quantitative/qualitative analysis which, at that time, was the second study of its kind completed in the United States. The focus was on the effectiveness of using film in the classroom which went-on to be accepted for presentation at a national conference.
The benefits of earning an MA in Professional Communication continue to shine not just professionally but personally as well. Initially, it provided me the confidence to apply for jobs outside of my original career path and succeed in them as well. And although I still do not perceive myself as a professional writer; however, the skills I’ve learned have led to a professional speaking career as well as an opportunity to complete a TEDx Talk, An Unexpected Turn. It does not fall short on me that I owe this to what I learned and the experiences gained as a student in the Department of Communication at Purdue University Fort Wayne.

Day 321 — The Dying Tecumseh
When Jesus Christ came upon the earth, you killed him, the son of your own God, you nailed him up!! You thought he was dead, but you were mistaken. And only after you thought you killed him did you worship him, and start killing those who would not worship him. What kind of people is this for us to trust? — Chief Tecumseh, August 11, 1810 (Excerpt from Chief Tecumseh’s speech after the signing of the "Treaty of Fort Wayne," which sold three million acres of land for a single payment in goods of $7,000 and a small annual subsidy, to be divided among the tribes signing the treaty.)
Tecumseh (Shawnee, 1768−1813) was a vital figure in the Native American resistance to U.S. expansionism after the Revolution. A warrior chief from the Ohio Valley, he worked to build a coalition of Indigenous nations that would block white settlers from encroaching further west. In the War of 1812, Tecumseh strategically allied his forces with the British but was killed by U.S. troops in the Battle of the Thames. The future president William Henry Harrison, who led that pivotal battle, recognized the formidable challenge Tecumseh’s coalition would have posed to the United States, calling him, “one of those uncommon geniuses, which spring up occasionally to produce revolutions.”
This sculpture emulates the ancient Roman sculpture the Dying Gaul, which similarly portrays a military adversary as heroic, yet exotic and powerless. It mythologizes Tecumseh as a timeless “noble savage,” dangerously and erroneously suggesting that his death and the rapacious expansion of the United States were inevitable. The work stood in the U.S. Capitol from 1864 to 1878, a time when Congressional legislation profoundly impacted Indigenous sovereignties.

B&K Root Beer Drive In, Van Wert (No. 2)
Van Wert is a city in and the county seat of Van Wert County, Ohio, United States. The municipality is located in northwestern Ohio approximately 77 mi (123 km) SW of Toledo and 34 mi (54 km) SE of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The population was 10,846 at the 2010 census. It is the principal city of and is included in the Van Wert Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Lima-Van Wert-Wapakoneta, Ohio Combined Statistical Area. Van Wert is named for Isaac Van Wart, one of the captors of Major John André in the American Revolutionary War. A center of peony cultivation, Van Wert has hosted the annual Van Wert Peony Festival on and off since 1902. Van Wert is home to the first county library in the United States, the Brumback Library. It also has a thriving community art center the Wassenburg Art Center and the award-winning Van Wert Civic Theatre. The home office of Central Insurance Companies is located in Van Wert.
Van Wert was surveyed in 1824 by Captain James Riley, who was contracted by the government to survey lands purchased from Native Americans under a treaty in 1818. It was incorporated as a town in 1848 and was chartered as a city in 1903.
The town is located in an area originally known as the Black Swamp. Early pioneers had to deal with swampy ground, mud, and malaria. They persevered, draining the swamp for agriculture and eventually reclaiming enough dry land to establish the town. Van Wert was the birthplace of aviation pioneer Walter Hinton and the famous baritone Charles W. Clark.
At one point, Van Wert was the only place in the world producing Liederkranz cheese. This pungent dairy product was made at the now-closed Borden plant.
The people of Van Wert (400 of which called themselves "Cheesemakers") contributed to the town of Vimoutiers, Orne, Lower Normandy, France with help in the costs of reconstruction and reparation of the town after it was mistakenly bombed by the US Air Force during World War II. They volunteered to pay for the replacement of Marie Harel's statue in 1953. This is recorded by a plaque in the market square of Vimoutiers. Vimoutiers is a centre for local making of Camembert, Livarot and Pont-l'Évêque cheeses.
On November 10, 2002, an F4 tornado ripped through the town, killing two people. This was one of many tornado touchdowns during the 2002 Veterans Day Weekend tornado outbreak. Van Wert's emergency warning system is credited with saving many lives after several cars were thrown into a movie theatre that had been packed with people just minutes earlier.

The Wereth 11
Yesterday I wrote a post suggesting that instead of pulling down statues, it was time people put up new ones, specifically in memory of the Black soldiers who fought so gallantly against Nazis and other Fascists and Militarists in the two World Wars. In the course of my research I came across stories from the Battle of the Bulge about the 333rd Field Artillery Battalion and the 969th Field Artillery Battalion, the latter being award a Presidential Unit Citation for their heroic efforts to save Bastogne from the Nazi panzers. Two batteries of the 33rd were overrun in the initial surprise attack. I had heard of the Malmedy massacre; being a Brit, I’d never heard of the Wereth 11. I’ll leave it to Wiki to describe what happened
“On 17 December, Battery C was flanked and overrun. Most of the men were killed or captured. Eleven soldiers became separated from the unit after it was overrun early on the second day of the battle. They tried to find the American lines but were unable to do so. When they reached the hamlet of Wereth, Belgium, farmer Mathias Langer offered them shelter.[4] The area they were in had been part of Germany for hundreds of years, until it was annexed by Belgium after World War I, and three of the nine families in the village were known to be still loyal to Germany. The wife of a German soldier who lived in Wereth told members of the notorious 1st SS Division that black American soldiers were hiding in her village. The SS troops quickly moved to capture the Americans, who surrendered without resistance. The SS men then marched their prisoners to a nearby field, where they were beaten, tortured, and finally shot.
The frozen bodies of the victims were discovered six weeks later, when the Allies re-captured the area. The SS troops had battered the black soldiers' faces, broken their legs with rifle butts, cut off fingers, stabbed some with bayonets, and had shot at least one soldier while he was bandaging a comrade's wounds.
The survivors of the 333rd Field Artillery Battalion were ordered to Bastogne, where they were incorporated into the 969th Field Artillery Battalion. Both battalions had provided fire support for the 101st Airborne Division during the Siege of Bastogne, for which they received the Presidential Unit Citation, the Army's highest unit award.
Because it had been overrun, the 333rd Field Artillery Battalion suffered more casualties during the Battle of the Bulge than any other artillery unit in the VIII Corps. Six officers (including the commander) and 222 enlisted men had been either killed or become prisoners of war. The 333rd Field Artillery Group subsequently served in the Central Europe campaign to the end of the war, while the 333rd Field Artillery Battalion took part in the Rhineland Campaign.”
but if you’ve a stronger stomach, read this
https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/11/07/wereth-black-soldiers-battle-of-bulge-army-world-war-ii-history/3465059/ and
https://warfarehistorynetwork.com/2019/03/07/a-hidden-massacre-in-belgium/
I’m glad to say that on the site there is now a memorial,
and also one in Massachusetts
The 11 soldiers massacred, known as the “Wereth 11”, were: Curtis Adams of South Carolina; Mager Bradley of Mississippi, George Davis Jr. of Alabama; Thomas Forte of Mississippi; Robert Green of Georgia; James Leatherwood of Mississippi; Nathaniel Moss of Texas; George Motten of Texas; William Pritchett of Alabama; James Stewart of West Virginia; and Due Turner of Arkansas. ALL except one from the South.
And now, maybe you’ll understand why I’ve been so absolutely pissed off when some ‘activists’, totally ignorant of the sacrifices - and yes, the evils- necessary to defeat Naziism, did this to Winston Churchill’s statue
and this to the RAF Bomber Command statues (and yes, I know about Dresden, just like you know about Warsaw, Rotterdam, Coventry, London...)
or tries to burn the Union flag on the National War Memorial, the Cenotaph
and when an ‘art conservator’ trumpets her credentials among the virtuous by suggesting how to destroy bronze statues, and forty thousand righteous Tumblr readers cheer her on. Books, paintings and buildings next, people. I read today that Princeton ‘University’ (do they know the meaning of the word?) has now ‘cancelled’ Woodrow Wilson, and John Wayne airport, Orange County, will be renamed. Racist, hompohobic bastards that they were, back then in the 20th Century. Probably transphobic too, if they knew the meaning of the word. A la lanterne with the lot of them.
Savonarola, thou should’st be living at this hour
#The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones.

Fun in the Sand
Fort Wayne, Indiana is one of the largest cities in the Midwest region, nestled between the southern suburbs of Chicago and the North shore of Lake Michigan. The city is named after General George Henry Ford, who led the Fort while commanding the army of the United States during the Civil War. His reputation as a military leader is what continues to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. Besides Ford, other notable figures of the past have kept this city among the most popular in the world.
The city of Fort Wayne was named for General George Henry Ford, a decorated military leader who led the American Civil War. Early settlers and Native Americans called Fort Wayne a crossing point due to its strategic position at the confluence of three rivers - the St. Joseph, the St. Mary's and the river of the Ozarks. It served as an important supply base for the Union Army throughout the war. General George S. Patton, the famous world war two commander, also had his headquarters here. Today, the city is considered a national historic site. A visit to Fort Wayne has become synonymous with sporting events because it is the site of the historic Summer Olympics held every four years in the mid-section of the city.
John Chapman is perhaps best known for his role as the lovable dog in the popular TV series "Foo Dog", which was an Oprah Winfrey and daytime talk show favorite in the 1980s. However, John Chapman was born in Fort Wayne and graduated from high school in another area of the city. Another notable former Fort Wayne resident is actor Donny Anderson, who appeared in such movies as "Lucky Number Slevin", "The Damned United", and "The Great Santini". Other notable individuals include Wanda Jackson, Jack Nicholson, and singer Diana Ross.
A visit to Fort Wayne can be contrasted to a visit to any other city in America by viewing the number of athletes and celebrities that call Fort Wayne home. Some of the country's most celebrated athletes have called Fort Wayne their home including wrestling champion Scott Norton, mixed martial arts fighters Urijah Faber and Michael Bisping, basketball star Clyde Drexler, football great Joe Montana and wrestler Chris Johnson. A notable celebrity that resides in the city is NFL running back LaDanian Tomlinson, who is from Fort Wayne and is now a professional NFL running back for the Tennessee Titans. The city's most famous resident is actress Cybill Shepherd, who resides in the nearby southern suburbs of Fort Wayne.
While many of Fort Wayne's inhabitants have little regard for sports, a large number of the people do and they make up a large chunk of the population. Football is the mainstay of the town's sports community and numerous teams call Fort Wayne home. Two of the most well known teams are the Fort Wayne Cowboys of the National Football League and the Evansville Warbirds of the United States Army. Former basketball star Scott Hamilton is also from Fort Wayne and the current NBA point guard, Johnny "The Face" Cook, was born in Fort Wayne. A host of entertainers have made home bases in Fort Wayne including the rock band Motley Crew as well as the country music singers Scott Weiland and Kip Moore.
Fort Wayne is also a favorite spot for artists that want to showcase their work. Rap artist like 50 cent and J.I. Cash reside in the area and country music stars like Eric Clapton have recordings created acoustic spots such as the Fort Wayne recording studio. Rock bands as well as DJs spin records in Fort Wayne. A popular radio station has even been marketed specifically to cater to the rock fan base.
Sports events are abundant in Fort Wayne and you will find your favorite NBA, NFL, or college sports team here. The Fort Wayne Pistons play at the Palace of Fine Foods inside the downtown area, while the Fort Wayne Cowboys play at RFK Stadium. You will also find auto racing and large scale theme parks in Fort Wayne. Fort Wayne has seen a recent resurgence in popularity with football teams moving into the city. A popular auto racing group, the "Wicked Wheel Racing Pigskin Band", has held races at the Circuit of the Americas and also at Sand Raceway Park.
Fort Wayne is an excellent city to live in for any age. It offers entertainment, recreation, dining, cultural activities, and sports. The winter months offer fun activities including winter tubing, sledding, and skiing. The summer brings beach activities, water parks, shopping, concerts, and baseball.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
The current invention pertains to a software program development tool: First to transmit raw data information, second to process raw data information for validation and third to install and update the necessary codes needed to transmit and validate the raw data information in a typical transaction. Particularly, the present invention relates to an object-oriented programming system that provides interface between two databases or servers containing data information needed to complete a particular transaction. More particularly, this invention relates a system that provides an interface between databases that provide source code, raw data information, and update data code.
The present invention is classified as a stand-alone development tool that run its own local database to create and to generate raw data information and as an integrated case tool that interface first with a network database to validate raw data information; and second with an update database to update the software program. Both stand-alone development tool and integrated case tool use an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tool to generate (a top-down) graphical display representation of the program code such as Graphical User Interface (GUI).
2. The Prior Art
With so many imported/exported items and so many US government departments and agencies in need of this data information for proper and legal trade of goods, the customs process was, and still is cumbersome, complex, redundant, fraught with eccentricities and time consuming. Only those adept and familiar enough with the process have access and are able to navigate its procedural morass. While the customs primary mission is to prevent terrorism from entering the US, it also is responsible for collecting import duties, and enforcing U.S. regulations, including trade.
In today's import/export customs software industry, there are many kinds of electronic filing (e-filing) that fulfills the customs transaction requirements with some encumbrances including limitations, conditions and setbacks that lead to time consuming and processing delay. These encumbrances' occurrences are mostly due to constant rates change such as antidumping and countervailing rates to balance the economy and the budget which makes it difficult to keep up with these changes.
Furthermore, with 9/11 attacks, security concerns adding other factors to the mix. By 2003, the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) antiquated Automated Commercial System (ACS) became dangerously overwhelmed. Homeland Security created a new CBP system ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement). The ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) part of ICE was to provide a platform to share trade information but it fails to precede the arrival of goods which results in being delayed or turned away the shipment of goods until May 1, 2015 where ACE becomes operational and available to a certain group of users that include: Carriers, Brokers, Freight Forwarders, Services Centers, and Exporters. The CBP system deployment core trade processing capabilities in ACE is projected to be completed by December 2016; users should acquire any kind of e-filing software to fulfill the transaction need.
Thus, there is a dire need in the import/export customs software industry for an e-filing system that would interface CBP users' transactions to CBP network database for data validation purpose. IECUSOFT e-filing system is best fitted to accommodate and to fulfill the need of CBP users by implementing an efficient, affordable and user-friendly software application system.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
This patent conveys, discloses and claims an advantageous tool, a beneficial system, and an important invention for an automated electronic-filing in the import/export customs field. The Software design intention and focus is to fill in the market void by providing the tools needed to CBP users and ABI (Automated Broker Interface) participants. The Software is NOT intended to be in competition with the existing software in the market but rather to provide a more affordable, user friendly software and fast processing CBP Software that will communicate with the customs for validation of duties, taxes, and fees; data information approval; cargo release of goods; and electronic payment through ACH (Automated Clearing House). And more specifically to implement a modern upgrade software design which is comparable and analogous to the new age technology.
The software system's main window displays a deactivated chapters selection button and different activated and deactivated record and executable buttons. The chapters' selection button becomes activated after the user identity is known. Any chapter selected displays different deactivated records for a specific transaction. These records become activated after the user identifies the details data to be transmitted. Mandatory records are required records; conditional and or optional records are required only upon a fulfill condition(s) in the mandatory record. One and only one record can be activated at one time in hierarchy order needed for a particular transaction. This is part of the self-guided software in order to prevent transmission error, at the same time to save processing time and to increase accuracy.
The first advantage of this invention is that the software system eliminates the cumbersome, complex, and redundant customs' data entry confusion. The second advantage of this invention is that the software system eliminates customs' processes fraught with eccentricities. The third advantage of this invention is that the software system reduces customs time consuming and errors as the transaction process goes on according to the data information entered. The fourth advantage is that all data entered in each individual field can be deleted all at once rather than deleting individually. The fifth advantage is that all data entered in each individual field are internally validated before transmitting the data. The sixth advantage is that the user does not necessary need to know beforehand the valid codes needed to enter into the data field; the software system is built-in with all necessary CBP codes for any transaction. Also the software system is equipped with a date picker feature to format the date to CBP format. The seventh advantage is that the software system computes the check digit for the user according to CBP check digit computation formula rules. The eighth advantages are the tariff, tax, fee, antidumping, and countervailing duties computations are performed automatically for the user according to CBP's duty calculation sets of formula rules. The ninth advantage is the system populates these data in the field for the user: Rates, class code, duty code, and case numbers. The tenth advantage is the data entered in the mandatory record sets the transaction pace by activating the required conditional and optional records and enabling the individual required fields inside the conditional and optional records. The eleventh advantage is that the software systems generates and creates new records for the user to speed up the customs process. The twelfth advantage is that the totals are automatically computed and populated with the correct values on the data fields for the user. The thirteenth advantage is that once the records are done filled out, the Block Control Trailer and the Batch Control Trailer are generated and populated to complete the transaction. The fourteenth advantage is the software system writes the data information on the CBP Forms and save the information for later use. The fifteenth advantage is that the software system rearranges the data in length, class, and position; and also checks for proper characters data field entry before transmitting. The only data the user needs to obtain is the US Harmonized Tariff Scheduled (HTSUS, "tariff number") for the commodity being transacted the. This tariff number is first checked for a valid tariff number by the software system.
The above advantages of this invention are provided by the software system in accordance with this invention. The software system of this invention includes a user client unit called "USeR" short for Utilize, Send, and Receive. USeR utilizes the software to send and receive data information. The above USeR unit is interface first to a server unit called "VARe" short for Validate, Approve, and Release. VARe validates data information, approves the transaction, and releases the goods; and then secondly the USeR unit is interface to another server unit called "PUMa" short for Provide, Update, and Maintain. PUMa provides the software system, updates the software data, maintains and services the software environment. PUMa maintains a programming database mainly the tariff numbers database; category number database; rate database; units codes database; duty, tax, and fee codes database; items description database, class codes database; transaction code database; flags database; city codes; district/port codes; foreign port codes; state codes including Canada and Mexico; country codes (both origin and export); government agencies and firms code database; entry type code database; compliance code database; container code database; missing code database; automated clearing house database; and many other pertinent code and data for import and export usage described in the CBP.
In accordance with this invention the interface provides the USeR with an acceptance or rejection details message of the processed data information to determine whether the transaction is approved or disapproved. The interface allows the users to transmit data information and question for various different data scenarios and statuses; the transmitted data may then be saved, printed, or electronically delivered. Also the interface allows the user to register for various services and enroll in different CBP programs such the electronic payment mechanism, the ACH (Automated Clearing House).
In accordance with this invention the interface allows PUMa to examine the software system operation and performance; acquire data code changed, deleted, added and mutated or permutated. The interface allows PUMa to maintain the software system up to date, control the software system application and utilization, repair broken data code, and install the software system in various computers and electronic devices.
In accordance with this invention the interface allows VARe to validate and approve a transaction; to provide acceptance or rejection details message of a transaction and to provide data code changed, deleted, added and mutated or permutated. VARe registers and enrolls users for various programs offered by CBP.
In accordance with this invention the software system eliminates the use of customs paper filing and backup log of goods in customs warehouse; implements a user friendly automated electronic filing system for fast and easy validation of commodities and release of goods; provides an electronic payment through the Automated Clearinghouse (ACH). Overall, the software system accommodates customs paper filing of the old age world to customs paperless filing of the new age technology.

FIG. 1 illustrates and defines the flow of data among different units operation: "PUMa, VARe, and USeR interface Diagram" 100. First a server 135 called "PUMa" Provides, Updates, Maintains and services the software system; second another server 150 called "VARe" Validates the data entry, Approves the transaction, and Releases the goods; and third a client 180 called "USeR" Utilizes the software, Sends and Receives data information. The arrows 190 depict the direction of the data flow between interfaced units. The flow of data in diagram 100 between VARe 150 and the USeR 180 is both ways "bidirectional"; the USeR 180 transmits data information to VARe 150 to be processed for validation and VARe 150 transmits back the processed data for approval and release of goods or for disapproval and rejection. The flow of data in diagram 100 between PUMa 135 and VARe 150 is one way "unidirectional"; PUMa 135 checks VARe 150 periodically for update and downloads the necessary data. The flow of data in diagram 100 between PUMa 135 and USeR 180 is also one way "unidirectional"; PUMa 135 installs the software system into USeR 180 client and updates the USeR 180 with new data code parameters downloaded from VARe 150.
Drawing sheet number 1/9, FIG. 1a displays a typical PUMa unit 135 constituting of various units capable of downloading data information from VARe unit 150, writing software codes, and uploading data code into USeR unit 180 for proper and legal transaction. FIG. 1b shows a symbolic VARe unit 150 composed of various data code to validate transaction data information for approval and release of goods or for disapproval and rejection. FIG. 3b: "ACE Customs APPS" displays the active and or enable button "Batch Control Header" 315 that signals the beginning of the transaction file; and it is used to identify the user and the sender/receiver of the data. Batch Control Header" 315 allows the user to select a chapter to file and only one type of application data can be processed within a typical batch control. The CLEAR button 333 deletes the entire data entry in a record rather than individual field data deletion and the SUBMIT button 360 transmits the entire data entry record to the USeR client before transmitting to VARe server for validation and approval. The date data field 350 is a date picker field feature that formats the date according to CBP format. The data element 370 is the name of the data field element and the red asterisk "*" symbol 340 after the data element symbolizes the data field element is mandatory. The data selection name 380 is the data selection item and places the selected data content in the data field 390. Some data fields 390 are editable and enable; some are not according to the nature of the data required. The data selection name 380 can be a combination of one, two, or three data selection name boxes; and while the software application is in running and or executable mode the data selection name 380 widens itself to fit the selection item content. Also by resting the cursor on a selected data name a definition of the name will appear. To make data element 370, data selection name 380, and data field 390 appropriately viewable in the layout window 315, abbreviations and acronyms 320 have been used to describe the data element name and to optimize the space suitably to fit data element 370, data selection name 380, data field 390, CLEAR & SUBMIT buttons inside the display window.
