Rise of the Guardians deserves more Love
Rise of the Guardians is the definition of a feel good movie
THE SCENE WHERE THE GUARDIANS ARE COLLECTING THE TEETH IS ALL THE EVIDENCE YOU NEED, ALL OF IT.
Along with the scene where all the kids and Guardians come together against Pitch
OKAY LISTEN THE WHOLE MOVIE IS EVIDENCE I COULD GO ON
Hugh Jackman playing the Easter Bunny and pretty much adopting little Sophie? Pretends to not care but will still face his fear and look over the edge of the sled because he's worried for his 'acquaintance'?
Jack Frost realising his core is to help fight the dark with fun? Realising he's found the family he's always longed to have?
Tooth finding the good in everyone? Cherishing everyone and never hiding her passion? Caring for everyone, and I mean EVERYONE
Sandy being the most wholesome being to ever exist AND I KNOW WHAT HAPPENS BUT I STILL TEAR UP EVERYTIME
Santa just BEING HIS INCREDIBLE SELF. THE TATTOOS. THE BELLEH. THE YETIS!!!
This movie is joy. This movie brings joy. This movie is about bringing joy.
I will never stop talking about this movie and how purely wonderful it is.

If you're still accepting prompts, what about Jack asking Pitch to read him a book so he'll be lulled to sleep by the sound of his voice? And Pitch does it knowing full well what Jack's up to.
(I would also like to say that I adore your works and I come back to them often. I am gnawing on your words like a puppy. Thank you for the good food, and well-wishes :))
I'm always accepting prompts, but I may be slow to get to some of them! Sometimes, I'm just in a more perfect mood than others to write, so i let everyone know!
This fits so perfectly into my dyslexic Jack headcanon (and my own massive crush on Jude Law and his voice), and also is just too cute to pass up, especially after that last anon ask, which I will admit, put a damper on my mood the past few days.
---
Jack practically cannonballed into bed, staff clattering to the floor as he took a running leap from the doorway into the room. Pitch barely managed to scoot out of the way, quickly sliding to the other side of the bed as Jack landed face-down on the mattress. The young spirit didn't move. Pitch peered down at him.
"Alright, Jack?"
His answer was a grumble muffled by the sheets, and Pitch couldn't contain a chuckle. He set his book down on his lap, not caring if he lost his page as it was one he had already read multiple times before. Placing a hand on Jack's head, he carded his fingers through soft white hair.
"What was that, darling?" he asked, a little softer this time. Jack groaned. He shuffled around a bit, the arms trapped underneath him wiggling up to grab a pillow from the head of the bed. Jack dragged it down to him, lifting his head long enough to shove it under him before burying his face again. More grumbling came mass. Pitch laughed again. "I can't help if you don't tell me what's wrong." He lifted his hand off Jack's head, keeping two fingers pressed to a cold neck. He walked them teasingly down Jack's skin to the neck of his hoodie.
Jack shivered under him. A hand swatted lazily at Pitch's fingers, and he gave up his teasing to rest his hand back on Jack's hair. His thumb brushed over a lightly flushed ear. A heavy sigh was muffled in the pillow, and then Jack was peeking a pretty blue eye up at him. It was bloodshot with exhaustion, purple bags starting to build up under his eyes. Pitch's brow furrowed. He adjusted, curling up around Jack while he leaned on his arm, book forgotten as he rubbed his thumb under Jack's eye. Jack closed it, sighing.
"It's nothing," Jack mumbled, mouth barely free of the pillow.
"It's not nothing. You look exhausted," Pitch stated gently. He brushed his fingers over Jack's forehead. He was unsure if he was reading too hard into it or if Jack felt warmer than he should. "When was the last time you slept?"
"When was the last time I was here?" Jack shot back. Pitch just stared down at him, and Jack opened his eyes to see him gazing back unblinking. He huffed. "Oh... fine! A week? Maybe? It hasn't been that long, and it's not like I need it all the time anyway!"
"Jack, you feel warmer than usual," Pitch pointed out. "What are you doing here anyway? I thought you'd be out spreading your winter cheer. It is still winter, isn't it?"
Jack grumbled. "Yeah, but it's not like I need to be out there 24/7." Pitch rose a brow at him. Jack rolled his eyes. "You're really gonna make me say it, aren't you?"
Pitch raised the other brow, confused. "Say it? Say what?"
"Oh, for the love of -" Jack cut off as he buried his face in the pillow. He continued to grumble loudly, Pitch just running his hand through his hair. It was best to let the little sprite get it out without chewing Pitch's ear off.
Not that he would mind the biting.
Pitch snorted, biting his lip when Jack lifted his head to glare at him, eyes exhausted. There was a light flush to his cheeks, and Pitch couldn't help but cup one in his hand. He wanted to kiss pouting lips.
"I just..." Jack looked away. He cuddled the pillow close under him, mouth hidden as he glared at the headboard. Pitch continued to watch him. "I missed you, you jerk..." Jack mumbled. His face flushed darker.
A bubble of warmth swelled and burst in Pitch's chest, a grin slowly pulling at his lips. He forced himself into Jack's space, laying his head on the bunched pillow as he wrapped an arm around Jack's back, the younger spirit squawking and shoving at him dramatically as Pitch pushed his face closer. He could only grin wider when Jack's laughter shone through his complaints.
"God, you're like a furnace! And twice as heavy!" the younger man grumbled. His attempts to shove Pitch off were weak at best. Pitch's hand found the back of Jack's head again. "Do you even know what personal space is? I swear, you're like a leech sometimes, always -" He pulled him down, cutting the winter sprite off with a kiss.
Pitch could barely contain his smile as Jack immediately opened up to him, moaning against his lips as Pitch sighed. Jack adjusted, laying on his side, with his fingers curled in Pitch's robe. Pitch pulled him close and practically flushed together as he teased his tongue along the seam of Jack's lips. Jack let him in with barely a token resistance, sucking on Pitch's tongue. Pitch moaned.
They lay like that for some time, simply kissing and holding each other, Pitch unable to get over that Jack would rather spend his time down in the dark with him rather than spreading his fun and snow. Even Jack seemed a little surprised by his own desire when Pitch teased him earlier, but he wasn't about to chase the boy out now. So Pitch continued to kiss him, savoring the feel of plush lips on his, pulling away only when Jack seemed to slow down, his body relaxing in the Boogieman's arms. Pitch kissed his cheek with a grin.
"You used up all your winter, didn't you?" he teased, pressing kisses all over Jack's face. Jack giggled, trying to push him away. "That's why you're so warm and tired."
"No, get off me!" Jack cried out. He shoved at Pitch's chest until the older spirit lay on his back, head turned so his gaze never left his sleepy sprite.
"Silly boy..." he mumbled, so tender and soft, emotion swelling in his heart that softened his gaze and made Jack blush and bury his face in Pitch's shoulder.
"I was just trying to get back to you sooner..." Jack mumbled, bashful. "I... may have been flying over Iceland when I decided I was ready to come back. I just needed to make it look like I was doing something before coming home."
Home.
Pitch's heart swelled. He swallowed thickly.
"Wanted to see you..." Jack continued. His voice was heavy with sleep. "Missed you."
Pitch laid a shaking hand on Jack's arm, which was curled around his own, hugging Pitch close and trapping him in place. He had never been so happy to remain trapped. "I missed you, too, Jack."
"Mm..." Jack sighed against his shoulder, frost dancing along black fabric. "What were you reading? Before I interrupted?"
Pitch had completely forgotten his book. Fumbling with one arm, he managed to find the book dangling precariously off the edge of the bed. "Just some short horror stories. I believe I personally inspired this author to write some of them, actually."
"Did you grab his feet from under his bed?" Jack murmured. Pitch glanced down at him, noticing his closed eyes.
He smiled fondly. "Probably. I'm sure he did something to deserve it, too."
Jack laughed.
"Read to me," he ordered. He snuggles closer, Pitch managing to bend his arm up enough to run fingers over Jack's shoulder.
"Are you sure?" he asked softly. "It might give you a nightmare."
"I'll name her Amora," Jack stated. "Read to me."
Pitch smiled. He pressed a kiss to Jack's hair, then tilted his head to rest his temple against Jack's. He lifted a knee to prop his leg against and propped the book up so he could read with on available hand. He opened to a random page, flipping forward a bit to find the next story. His voice was soft and steady as he began to read.
"It was many a year ago, in a kingdom by the sea..."
Jack was already out like a light.

Hey, I've reread crawlersout recently and noticed it's been almost two years since the last update.
Honestly, I don't know how many times I've read it. The pairing is absolutely unique, Gellert and Harry have great chemistry and I don't know how many hours I spent trying to find something similar. Let me tell you: There isn't.
You created the perfect little niche for them. Thank you soo much so so much! ♡
But crawlersout is nearing its ninth birthday, too.
Soo, do you maybee~ have some snippets you would be willing to share with us? 👀
Oh god is it really that old!!!
I finally caved and watched the new movies and... I actually didn't hate them? I'm probably influenced by the fact Hogwarts Legacy was such a good game that I'm more open to more extended world stuff for Harry Potter (as long as its unrelated to the core story and doesnt touch the epilogue-that-must-not-be-named)
Actually, the Mads Mikkelsen portrayal of Grindelwald just... ugh I adored it so much it sort of threw a wrench in my plans for that fic. And Jude Law as Dumbledore was just 💯
If/when I do continue it, it's probably going to incorporate a lot from the movies - having Newt and Harry meet would be so fun.
-I imagine Newt gets called in to deal with the Supay, which introduces him to Tom, and inevitably when she comes to rescue him, Harry
-Harry also meets Albus, who is still tasked with delivering Tom his letter, since Hogwarts' magic doesn't know wtf to do with Harry and still has Tom listed as a muggleborn. She's very effusive and takes an immediate shine to him, which confounds both Tom and Albus.
-Albus kind of unwillingly likes her, because she's just so obviously and genuinely happy to see him, yet he also knows about the unsavory rumors involving her and Gellert. So, he's also a bit jealous, since I headcanon Gellert as bi.
-Tom immediately dislikes Albus like in canon, but for entirely different reasons. He just hates people sniffing around Harry, although in this instance, Harry is the one effusively all over Albus.
-Honestly the next few chapters would mostly be about Tom finally in Hogwarts.

On Hermione killing Draco in Jagged
i’ve always wanted to give my explanation for this, but i fell out of fandom before i got the chance. tonight i was scrolling on my fandom tumblr, trying to find a gif to show my brother and sister in law, and i passed a jagger excerpt. one thing led to another, and i ended up reading the chapter after draco came back. (ch 30 i think?)
i know that some people were truly outraged on my choice to have draco murdered. a lot of people claimed it was out of character, and there’s a good amount of evidence for that, sure, but i think there’s a fair amount of evidence to show that it’s just as much in character as well.
originally, draco was supposed to live. originally, drarry was going to be end game. originally, abraxas was never supposed to come back to 1998, but sometimes you write the narrative and sometimes it writes itself. jagged was the story that taught me that maybe i’m not an outline type of author, because the final product deviated from the original idea so much that it was more frustrating than helpful.
admittedly, very much of the writing in jagged was therapeutic for me. a lot of hermione’s inner dialogue, self hatred, and “selflessness” are things i either see in myself or wish i could be. she’s far from a perfect character, but she’s powerful, level headed and smart. she doesn’t have many weaknesses revealed, not even when we spend half the story in her point of view. tom makes note of that several times when we get to his pov— that he has hermione on this pedestal, that she seems like some sort of impenetrable force.
but at the end of the day— hermione has dealt with extremely traumatizing situations that she had spent the better part of a year repressing. not only that, she was thrown back into 1998 quite suddenly, and even though we don’t see it in tom’s pov, it’s not hard to imagine how triggering that must be. hermione can put on a mask of indifference but at the end of the day that’s all it is— a mask.
i knew very early on that i was choosing the route of a dark order. the order has always been dark (its war, there’s really no moral high ground, despite what harry was brainwashed into thinking).
i felt very particular about how i wanted to pull this off. i didn’t want it to seem sudden or out of the blue. i also didn’t necessarily want “dark” to mean evil, because i feel like in jagged each and every character can be made out to be evil if you break down their actions in different lights. (this is a completely different essay)
draco’s betrayal was always a very dark spot for hermione. it brought on torture that she wore as proof of his disloyalty in her skin everyday. regardless of his actions or his orders, she thought this for years. she built resentment on it. is it logical for this resentment to play a part in her decision once she knows the truth? absolutely not. but that’s the thing, the moment draco steps into grimmauld place, logic has taken a backseat in hermione’s brain. she’s riding purely on emotions. she knows this, and yes, she has the wherewithal to recollect herself if she wanted to. but she doesn’t. it’s like she told remus. draco is her line.
second, hermione would have never, ever watched draco be tortured. damn the plan, damn the betrayal. she would have died to stop it. she would have gotten them both killed, probably. the point is, she couldn’t have lived with herself if she stood for hours and watched it happen. and with that knowledge, and knowing the pain she suffered through and that draco was able to stomach watching it the entire time… well, it was enough for her to not want him around anymore.
also, this was a last stitch effort for remus to prove his loyalty to her. i didn’t realize it at the time, but hermione and remus’s relationship mirrors jude’s and her step father’s from the cruel prince quite a bit. if you haven’t read it, (what are you waiting for?) the main thing you need to know is that they have an endlessly complicated, painful relationship wherein the love they have for each other is not stronger than their need to fight for what they believe is the greater good.
hermione viewed remus like a father, but that wasn’t a one sided relationship. remus loved hermione endlessly like he would his own child.
yet he still took a “calculated” risk. she was tortured and almost killed because of a decision he made. a decision he never planned on telling her about.
remus says he would do it again. and hermione knows it’s the truth, and in some ways she respects him for it. she’ll always be a soldier at heart. but it also solidifies his spot in her life as someone that will never, ever be family to her again. because hermione wouldn’t risk remus’s life for anything.
so she uses draco as leverage. remus sees draco as mostly innocent. his life lies in remus’s hands. he has to choose. hermione’s side, or draco’s life. it’s vindictive, yes, but hermione has just spent the past 4 years using manipulation to get what she wants. as a reader, it’s not a side of her we get to see a lot (aside from when she’s torturing michael, which admittedly, was meant to be foreshadow to this exact moment)
as an author i could have done a better job throwing in more unpredictable or emotional behavior on her part. but at the time, i really wanted this to be a turning point, not just for the order, but for hermione herself. this is kind of her first selfish decision in a long time. the first time she chooses something simply because it’s what she wants. as readers you may say, “her selfish act was to take a life?!” and to that i say, yes. yes it was.
i wanted hermione to be irrational just because. i wanted her to take her power and abuse it a little. we read stories about strong female characters with endless powers who fight and win big wars just to settle at the end in the name of morality or being the better person.
i didn’t want hermione to settle. i wanted hermione angry because she deserved to be.
of course there are arguments against why she didn’t, and of course logicially killing draco wasn’t the decision that made sense. but that’s the thing, hermione is a flawed character. she doesn’t (and won’t) make all her decisions based on logic.
women deserve to be angry. women don’t need to forgive.
jagged hermione doesn’t need to explain why she wanted draco dead, but as an author, i wanted to.

Is Rise of the Guardians 2 possible? Yes!
Let's list all the facts supporting the possibility of another movie:
1. The director of the first movie is open to the idea of creating a sequel. "I'd love to be involved in something like that again, just because there are so many things I'd like to improve on from the first time because of inexperience or the circumstances that we didn't get to do.’’ (2020) The director? Peter Ramsey, the guy behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse!
Tumblr media
2. Speaking of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Dreamworks started to experiment with 2D and 3D. Their newest movies The Bad Guys and Puss in Boots the Last Wish are huge critical and box office successes.
The Bad Guys earned $250.5 million from the $69–80 million budget. Puss in Boots the Last Wish earned $263.6 million and still counting from the $90 million budget.
Tumblr media
3. When we're on the topic, Rise of the Guardians wasn't a flop but it didn't make as much money as Dreamworks anticipated. The movie cost $145 million to make and made $306.9 million at the box office. With the new art style being cheaper to make but not dropping in quality future films will make much more money. And that's how it should be. Not getting more expensive and looking like an early 2000s CGI video game, Disney!
Tumblr media
4. Dreamworks has no problem with making sequels even when there is a big gap between the last release. They announced Kung Fu Panda 4 for the 2024 release meanwhile Kung Fu Panda 3 came out in 2016. That's an 8-year wait while the original trilogy had about two 4-year gaps between installments. Between the original Puss in Boots and its sequel passed almost 12 years. Puss in Boots 2 also foreshadowed a potential sequel to the Shrek franchise for which the last movie was Shrek Forever After in 2010. The Croods came out in 2013, and its sequel The Croods: New Age came out in 2020. Again with huge positive critical and box office reception. $216 million from a $65 million budget. Dreamworks is the master of sequels!
Tumblr media
5. Furry bait! People at Dreamworks have a connection to the internet. They know people went wild over Mr. Wolf and Death. Bunnymund voiced by Hugh Jackman? Come on, people will go crazy!
Tumblr media
6. Great villain potential! Everybody is praising Death for how scary he is. People love tragic and complex villains like Ramses, Tai Lung, and Lord Shen. If Dreamworks leans into Pitch Black's backstory from the books they might create one of their best villains yet! I'm not going to spoil it.
Tumblr media
7. Jude Law, VA of Pitch Black, will be in the Star Wars Skeleton crew and Pan and Wendy. Whether or not those projects will be good in their own right people will know him from those roles and might want to watch an animated movie just because he's in it.
Tumblr media
8. Dreamworks wants to please its audience. Unlike so many creators who destroy franchises out of spite or try to ''fix'' them to their own liking, Dreamworks respects its audience, characters, and lore. I'm sure they know fans want more, but they only make a sequel if they know it will be great.
Tumblr media
There is only one huge problem. Alec Baldwin, the voice actor for Santa, killed someone. In October 2021 on the set of “Rust”, a Western being filmed, Baldwin pulled the trigger with a live round, killing the film's cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins. I'm not going to get into detail. Find it on your own accord, there are plenty of people already cowering it better than I could.
Tumblr media
The solution is easy, just cast a new voice actor.
It looks to me that practically everything is in perfect configuration for the Rise of the Guardians 2.
It also looks like Dreamworks has a new strategy. Release an original movie and then a sequel to the franchise, another original, and another sequel.

For many of her contemporaries, Patricia Highsmith was too strong a poison. When I was researching my biography of her, the English crime writer HRF Keating told me that when the woman he knew as Pat was invited to join the Detection Club — formed by writers including Agatha Christie and Dorothy L Sayers in 1930 — one member was so outraged they told him, “If she’s in, I leave.”
And when Highsmith published The Talented Mr Ripley in 1955, the first of five Ripley books, readers were shocked by its amorality. Her central character was a charming psychopath, a murderer who evades punishment.
That first novel is a story many of us know from Anthony Minghella’s sumptuous 1999 film: Ripley, a young man with a shadowy past (played in Minghella’s version by Matt Damon), is tasked by the shipping magnate Herbert Greenleaf to persuade his estranged son, Dickie (Jude Law), to return from Italy to New York. But a complex web of desires prompts Ripley to commit murder and assume Dickie’s identity.
As a character he is an extraordinary creation, one who has also been played on screen by Alain Delon, Dennis Hopper and John Malkovich. Now, in an eight-part Netflix series, it’s the turn of Andrew Scott to step into his polished Ferragamos.
Highsmith died in 1995 at the age of 74, in her adopted home of Locarno, Switzerland, and was never a huge seller in America. Her US editor Otto Penzler, who published Highsmith in the 1980s, told me that Americans found her fictional world hard to navigate: “There’s a certain repellent quality to her books. The Ripley novels are so amoral that a lot of people are simply uncomfortable, because they don’t have a guidepost.” Others found that discomfort compelling: in 2008, the Times nominated Highsmith as the greatest-ever crime writer.
The transgressive nature of Ripley has its roots in her life. Before Highsmith was born (in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1921), her mother tried to abort her by drinking turpentine. As a small child she hated her stepfather, Stanley, with such a passion that she fantasised about killing him. When she was 14 her mother asked her, “Are you a les? You are beginning to make noises like one.”
Highsmith later recalled in a letter how worthless this remark had made her feel. “It reminds one of ‘Look at that hunchback, isn’t he funny’ on the street,” she said. These childhood experiences — she once said she was born under “a sickly star” — fed her dark imagination. “All this probably caused my propensity to write bloodthirsty stories of murder and violence,” she told a journalist.
When Highsmith sat down to write The Talented Mr Ripley in 1954, she had already published three novels: Strangers on a Train (1950), The Price of Salt (in 1952, under a pseudonym, and later republished as Carol) and The Blunderer (1954).
She first had the inspiration for Ripley in 1952, while staying at a hotel in Positano on the Amalfi coast. It was early one morning and as she stepped on to the balcony overlooking the sea, she spotted a solitary man walking along the beach. “I could just see that his hair was straight and darkish,” she later wrote. “There was an air of pensiveness about him, maybe unease.”
She dashed off the novel at speed, over six months, while living in a rented cottage in Lenox, Massachusetts. “It felt like Ripley was writing it, it just came out,” she said. As she was working out the plot, she wrote in her notebook the word “EVIL” in capital letters next to the heading “Subject”.
Early titles for the book included The Thrill Boys and Business Is My Pleasure before she settled on The Talented Mr Ripley. “What I predicted I would once do, I am doing already in this very book,” she scribbled in her notebook. “That is, showing the unequivocal triumph of evil over good, and rejoicing in it. I shall make my readers rejoice in it, too. Thus the subconscious always proceeds the consciousness, or reality, as in dreams.”
Although there had been villains of this sort before — think Iago in Othello — none inhabited a universe in which they not only survived at the end but positively thrived. “I have a lurking liking for those that flout the law,” Highsmith told one interviewer.
By Ripley Under Ground (1970), the second novel in the series, Tom has become a serious collector of art, owning works by Van Gogh, Magritte and Picasso. With his wife, Heloise, he lives in a house outside Fontainebleau, their lifestyle financed by art fraud. In the course of the remaining books Ripley goes into battle with the mafia; garrottes someone on a train; and hits the nightclubs of Berlin dressed in drag.
The character of Ripley, shaped not so much by crime fiction as by existentialist literature — Highsmith was a keen student of Dostoevsky, Kierkegaard and Camus — continues to cast his shadow over culture. There are traces of him in Thomas Harris’s Hannibal Lecter, Bret Easton Ellis’s Patrick Bateman (American Psycho), Jeff Lindsay’s Dexter Morgan, and Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) in Saltburn.
Seventy years after Highsmith created her calculating killer, will Netflix give us the real Ripley? Other film versions have struggled with his talent for getting away with murder.
In René Clément’s 1960 Plein soleil, an adaptation of The Talented Mr Ripley, Delon is arrested, an ending that Highsmith described as “a terrible concession to so-called public morality”. In Minghella’s take, the killer is given the gestation of a conscience. “There’s so much nihilism in film right now,” the director told The New York Times. “If I’m going to tell a story that’s so bleak and so much a journey of a soul, if in the end Ripley was just going about his business, what’s the journey?”
Steven Zaillian, writer and director of the Netflix series, has said that he tried to imagine how Highsmith herself would adapt the novels if she were alive today. The fact that he had the luxury of eight episodes meant he could be “faithful to the story, tone and subtleties of her work”. He won an Oscar for his screenplay of Schindler’s List and hopes to film all five Ripley books.
Certainly, his adaptation of The Talented Mr Ripley is the most faithful I have seen. Scott captures Ripley’s strange blankness, his slippery quality, his moral emptiness. Throughout the series — shot in black and white on location in Italy and New York — various characters seek the truth about his identity. “May I ask you to describe Thomas Ripley?” an Italian detective asks Marge Sherwood (played by Dakota Fanning, opposite Johnny Flynn as Dickie). It’s a question that Ripley himself can’t quite answer.
In a conversation published in Interview magazine, Scott recently told his fellow actor Ben Whishaw why this inscrutability appealed to him: “There’s a trend in drama at the moment to make the characters accessible: ‘What’s their backstory?’ What’s wonderful about Tom Ripley is that you have no idea.’’’
In fact, we do know a few things from the 1955 novel: for instance, that Ripley’s parents drowned in Boston Harbour and that he was raised by an aunt. But when Ripley describes his background to Herbert Greenleaf he feels uneasy, Highsmith writes, “the way he might have felt if he had been lying, yet it had been practically the only thing he had said that was true”.
And what about his sexuality? In the novel Ripley describes homosexuals as “perverts”. He tells Dickie that he’s not “queer”, and jokes that, since he can’t make up his mind whether he likes men or women, he’s thinking of giving up both. “As a matter of fact, there was a lot of truth in it,” Highsmith writes in The Talented Mr Ripley. “As people went, he was one of the most innocent and clean-minded he had ever known.”
The casting of a gay actor in the new series adds another level of ambiguity. “If Tom Ripley was in a gay bar, I’m not sure that he would fit in there,” Scott told Interview. “Nor do I think he’s a straight character. I think he’s a queer character, in the sense that he’s very ‘other’.”
So fully did Highsmith imagine Ripley that at times he was almost real to her. When an award certificate she had been given for The Talented Mr Ripley became mildewed, she took it out of its frame, cleaned it and scribbled “Mr Ripley and” before her name; he deserved the honour as much as her, she said. She sometimes signed letters “Pat H, alias Ripley” and in a copy of Ripley Under Ground given to a friend, she added the inscription “For Charles with love … from Tom (Pat)”.
While researching Highsmith’s biography, I discovered that in many ways Ripley was the author’s alter ego. Like him, she was a mass of contradictions: a gay woman who could be misogynistic; an individual who held extreme and at times highly offensive views, but who could be a kind and loyal friend; a figure who had many identities. “With every person she knew, she was always a different Pat,” one of her friends told me. “That’s why it is so difficult to define her character. She had many facets, many different projections.”
Ripley is the ultimate disrupter: a man who reinvents himself with the ease of a quick change of clothes; a possible psychopath who has a taste for the finer things in life; an outsider determined to forge a better future for himself; a ruthless killer who cries at Keats’s grave.
He is that very current figure: the consummate self-reinventor, a modern-day everyman who will do whatever it takes to survive. And we, as readers, and soon as viewers again, are encouraged to cheer him along.'

What do you think about Dumbledore? I read a lot of Tom Riddle centric where Dumbledore is honestly considered more immoral than Voldemort himself. I understand why fans of Tom Riddle might not like Dumbledore and how he may not be everyone's cup of tea. I wondered what your thoughts are
sdfgfgh this seems to be a fraught topic on this side of the fandom 😂
Honestly? I am Dumbledore neutral. I think he is a complex, nuanced and deeply flawed character and while I don't click with extremely critical interpretations of him, I also don't quite gel with the idea of him as just a good person put into an impossible position. As much as I like Jude Law, I can't recognise his Fantastic Beasts Dumbledore as the same character as the one from the original HP series.
I uhh do not agree with the idea of Dumbledore being more immoral than Voldemort. Fans can interpret canon how they wish, but me personally? I don't enjoy the sub-genre of fic that bends over backward to justify the actions of Voldemort and the Death Eaters.
The Death Eaters are not some sort of revolutionary force defending the magical world from annihilation. They are a subsection of the wealthiest, most privileged members of wizarding society pushing back against perceived diminishing power. We know that the Wizarding World did not see a Muggle-born Minister for Magic till the 1960s, despite Muggle-borns having been a part of their world since the founding of Hogwarts. That's... a thousand years. I don't think that it is a coincidence the election of the first Muggle-born Minister is followed shortly by the rise of Voldemort. As they say, “when you're accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression”.
There are a number of ways to interpret Voldemort's motivations and I am undecided myself on which makes the most sense, but one thing that is clear is his unrepentant greed, selfishness and hunger for power. What's there not to love? 😌
But I can see why Tom fans in particular dislike Dumbledore. The way that he handles their introduction at Wool's is stunningly horrible and far more influenced by his past with Grindelwald than Tom, at that age, deserved. I also find it fascinating how this is never really recognised in the books as one of Dumbledore's failings. As I've mentioned before, that Dumbledore sees a child that has never been loved and has never loved, and sees this as a moral failing of the child is... interesting, to say the least.
That being said, I don't believe Dumbledore can be given any credit for the person Tom became. And later there's only so much leeway that can be given for a terrible childhood. At some point, we need to let Tom take accountability for his own choices. Dumbledore didn't drive him down that path, but he certainly made no attempt to steer him off it.
(Discussing Harry would double the length of this post so I'll just stick to Voldemort)
I don't come across Dumbledore frequently in fic as I usually read post-war fics and he is ⚰, but a couple that come to mind are:
innocent (until proven guilty) by @laeveteinn - Dumbledore is a total fuckup in many ways but clearly written by someone who likes him and I think that strikes the perfect balance. He's arrogant, somewhat narcissistic and has blindspots the size of the Grand Canyon but he is, nevertheless, aiming for The Greater Good™️
Ouroboros by @metalomagnetic - While he doesn't play that major a role in this, I find it so clever and such an astute observation of human behaviour that in a world where Tom's circumstances are actually improved yet now dysfunctional in a way that Dumbledore can actually empathise with, he finally has sympathy and concern for Tom. Sympathy and concern that was absent in the canon world where Tom suffered but acted out on his trauma in a way that was not palatable or morally acceptable to Dumbledore.

my non-spoiler review of fantastic beasts: the secrets of dumbledore - and why you all should watch it
fantastic beasts: the secrets of dumbledore is just amazing. I have been about to sob for all over the film (heartbreaking moments, too much for my heart that wasn't ready for all of this).
Finally I had the magic. This was magic. Everything. The characters are awesome, beautifully written, beautifully interpreted. Jude Law is simply perfect as Dumbledore, and in this film you can perfectly see it. Mads Mikkelsen is wow. His Grindelwald has something that Depp's did not have, though I loved the original Grindelwald too. But, now, after have seen the film, I can't imagine someone who isn't Mads at the place of Grindelwald. Something of his face, maybe, of his deportment, of his attitude, his expression. And Grindelwald has to be like this: noble, apparently gentle, mysterious, charming. The plot, the landscapes, the fantastic beasts themselves... All of it.
Plot
This film had to do only one thing: tell us who Creedence is. And, guys, I swear to you that we all come to know the truth. And, as Jo Rowling has always done, it is upsetting, something I would have never thought about. But this film is not simply this: it is about Dumbledore, and, God, Albus Dumbledore is the absolute protagonist. Finally his story - as we knew it through the seventh hp book - is told, perfectly told. We can see, all over the film, Dumbledore's pain on Jude Law's face, his regret, his love, his agony. It is the real Dumbledore, the one I've always wanted to see on the screen: a man that has been wrong many times in his life, a man that can't forgive himself for what he did, but also a man pure of heart that constantly tries to fix where he went wrong. And that is the important thing - as Newt says at a certain point: to try. This is not the same complicated and confusing plot of the second film. This is linear, clair. This has an objective and a road to follow. It is a very political film and I loved it. There are the election of the leader of the entire wizarding community all over the world, there is the German Ministry of Magic, the French one, the Spanish one, the MACUSA, and Our Ministry of Magic, the English one, as we know it. And because of this context I can say that Mads Mikkelsen's Grindelwald is the perfect one. But I don't want to make a spoiler, so here I finished.
Characters
One of the flaws of the second fb, were the characters: the second fb introduced too many characters without giving them a story. Well, it doesn't happen here. A few main characters that we come to know as well as the original protagonists - Newt, Queenie, Tina and Jacob - and that give a plus to the plot. Lally, Theseus, Yousuf and Bunty: they are the other main characters apart from Dumbledore, Grindelwald, Credence and our group of friends. Lally is a badass teacher of Ilvermorny; Theseus, Newt's brother, is completely different from the arrogant and distant one we knew in the second film; Yousuf is, maybe, the more mysterious of the group; Bunty is a brave sweetheart. Together, they make up a perfect group. Then, there is Aberforth. Wow. I love how Richard Coyle and Jude Law brought the Albus-Aberforth relationship on the screen. Perfect. The perfect picture of their complicated brotherhood, as Jo Rowling told in the seventh hp book. Credence is "less important" compared to the first and the second film. Now that everyone knows who he is, the only thing left to do is trying to save him from Grindelwald - who seems less affectionate to him. Well, I can't stay here talking about the characters (even if it is my favorite thing to do), but I can say a thing: they are perfectly written and I love them all.
Fantastic Beasts
If the second fb has almost forgotten to put the fantastic beasts into his plot, here the fantastic beasts steal the scene. They are awesome. We see, obviously, Teddy and Pickett, but there is also a creature from the hp books that we have never seen in the films: the Blast-Ended Skrewt, a giant one. And then, a creature you'll all adore is the Quilin, one of the rarest creature of all the Wizarding World, that has a main role in the whole plot. Trust me, you can't miss the fantastic beasts at all.
The Blood Pact
This is how the second film comes to end: with the blood pact of Grindelwald and Dumbledore which seems impossible to destroy. And yes, this pact is central in this third film, until the end. Inside it there is a young and yet powerful magic, as we have never seen before.
Places
From New York to Berlin, from Great Britain to the mountain chain of Himalaya. Berlin in the early 1920s is beautiful and the magical Berlin is something sublime. And then there is Hogwarts. Our beautiful Hogwarts. I was about to sob when I saw it. Because, after all this time, after all these years, Hogwarts is still there for us. And it is true that Hogwarts will always be there, because even this time it is. And we're inside it, in the Great Hall, among the Hogwarts' students. And we need it. We deserved it. To come home. It brought us home. Again. One time and forever. Always. I did not want those Hogwarts scenes to end.
I don't know if I finished, but I'm not finished with this film. The music (guys, the music! Howard did a fabulous work with it. There are the classical fb tracks - New says goodbye to Tina, Jacob's bakery etc. - but also the classical hp tracks!)... And all the references to the hp books and film! WE CAME HOME WITH THIS FILM. WE REALLY DID. I loved every aspect of it. Every. From the start to the end. And then, the "always" reference. I adored it.
Feel free to send me asks, if you want to know anything. I'll answer as I can (if you want spoilers... Well, I'm an expert in spoilers, but also if you don't want them).

Praise the Lord! It’s time for today’s word ministration. I welcome you all in Jesus’ Name.
Let us Pray: Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of life and this precious moment you gave us to share your word. I pray that you send your Holy Spirit to guide and to teach us all the truth of your word. We give all glory and honor to your Holy Name. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Topic: Seven Habits of Strong Believers
Strong believers in Christ are individuals who have a deep and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and adhere to Christian teachings. Their lives often reflect a commitment to living according to Biblical principles, which may include aspects such as love, compassion, forgiveness, and moral integrity. The specific details of their lives can vary widely as people express their faith in different ways but a common thread is the pursuit of a life aligned with Christian values and a desire to share their beliefs with others.
Seven Habits of Strong Believers are as follows:
Strong believers feed their Spirit
Mathew 4:4 - But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”
Mathew 6:11 - Give us today our daily bread.
Strong believers build up their faith by listening to God’s word daily
Romans 10:17 – Consequently, faith coming from hearing the message and the message is heard through the word of Christ.
Strong believers strengthen and encourage self-daily by speaking God’s word
Mathew 8:8 - The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.”
Proverbs 18:21 – Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat of its fruit.
Strong believers dominate and control their thought life by filling their minds with God’s word
Joshua 1:8 - This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Strong believers anchor and establish their heart by giving God continual praise and thanksgiving
Psalm 34:1 - I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Mathew 21:16b – Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise.
Strong believers edify self and charge their battery by praying in other tongues
Jude 20 – But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 14:4 - He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
Strong believers become streamlined by getting rid of the baggage
Hebrews 12:1 - Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
Dear friends, when you put these Seven habits of Strong believers into practice on a daily basis, you will develop the kind of spirit that will cripple the enemy and ensure the kind of victory you’ve always dreamed of. This is the life Jesus died to give you. This is the life you were meant to live!
Allow me to end here. God bless you.

Dark, lustful and complex: It's a woman's world at Cannes
CANNES
From a sex offender to far-from-perfect mothers and girls unabashedly exploring their sexuality, this year's Cannes Film Festival has thrown out the stereotype of the one-dimensional female character.
Cinema has long stood accused of ignoring women's inner lives and complexities, or telling a story through the male gaze.
However, men and their opinions were relegated to a secondary role in many films at the world's leading industry shindig.
In "May December", Julianne Moore plays a woman who had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old boy -- now her husband -- and is in denial years later over her wrongdoing.
A loving mother, but also a registered sex offender, the film sees her character grappling with buried crimes, in the role alongside Natalie Portman.
"The entire range of human behavior should be accessible to women because women are simply humans," said Portman, who loves to see women "behave in morally ambiguous ways".
"It always drives me crazy when people are like, oh, if only women rule the world, it would be a kinder place. No, women are humans and come in all different complexities."
This year Cannes boasts a record seven female directors in the official competition for the Palme D'Or prize -- and some films barely focus on men at all.
Even in "Firebrand", starring Jude Law as a repulsive King Henry VIII, the spotlight is on his sixth wife Catherine Parr as she struggles to avoid the fate of her predecessors.
In "Homecoming", by French director Catherine Corsini, a black woman returns to Corsica with her two daughters years after fleeing the French island in a hurry.
As they explore their mysterious past, her teenage daughters -- even the model student -- experiment with crime, drugs and sexuality.
At the same time, the complexity of motherhood, sacrifice and the decision to lie to your children all run under the surface.
Tumblr media
Cannes cinemagoers also got an unusual glimpse into the lives of women from countries where they are often portrayed as merely oppressed and conservative.
In "Four Daughters", Tunisian director Kaouther Ben Hania made a hybrid film-documentary about a real mother, Olfa Hamrouni, whose two daughters joined the Islamic State group.
Hamrouni is at times sympathetic and at times repulsive as she recounts her own violence towards her daughters.
She is seen joking about her awful ex-husband, yearning for affection, yet intolerant when she overhears her daughters giggle about kissing boys or exploring their bodies.
"I wanted to show how women have internalised some patriarchal reflexes," Ben Hania told AFP.
In "Goodbye Julia" -- not in the main competition -- male director Mohamed Kordofani confronted his own sexism and racism as he put women at the forefront of a story about war in Sudan.
The movie explores the complex friendship between a black woman from pre-independence southern Sudan and an Arab woman from the north with an overbearing conservative husband.
"I started to review how I was behaving in my previous relationships. I reviewed my own racism," Kordofani told AFP.
Elsewhere at Cannes, British director Molly Manning Walker took a nuanced look at sexual assault and consent in her feature debut "How to Have Sex" on a judgement-free alcohol-fueled girls trip abroad.
"For me consent isn't black and white, it's not yes and no... if someone is having a bad time you should be able to recognize that," she said.
One Cannes showing that drew scorn for its portrayal of sexuality was new HBO series "The Idol" and its graphic raunchy scenes, directed by "Euphoria" creator Sam Levinson.
While the main character, played by Lily-Rose Depp, is portrayed as a complex character exploring her sexuality, some critics did not buy it.
Variety slammed its "tawdry cliches" and said the show "plays like a sordid male fantasy.
"One could argue there's something revolutionary in the way Levinson depicts female sexuality... but Levinson takes things too far in the other direction."

Brad knew exactly how to get Bria started in the industry, as he had gone through it himself. He used his camera to get a professional-looking headshot of her. She didn’t have a resume since she didn’t have any acting or singing experience. He talked to Helena Bonham Carter and David Fincher. They both thought she had what it took to be successful. It was going to be a lot of hard work and disappointments. She wasn’t always going to get what she wanted.
There were going to be a lot of kids who wanted the same thing she did. She just had to keep trying because one day, she would be the one to get the job the other kids wanted. He did still want her to remain a child and not be overwhelmed. She would only be twelve years old once and he didn’t want her to grow up too fast.
She could repeat dialogue from memory from her favorite movies, while also being able to imitate people and their mannerisms. Specifically, George Clooney. It made him remember that children were like sponges. They were always watching and listening to everything they said or did. She was in the stage where children her age were very interested in morals. They pushed boundaries to develop their independence but they still needed their parents for support.
It was a tough age to be in. They were too old for some things but too young for others. She was a great kid. He sometimes had to remind himself of that. Before he knew it, she would be asking to borrow the car and going on dates. He wasn’t ready for that. But, she couldn’t stay a child forever. She would have to eventually grow up and become a woman.
“Over here, we have Miss Bria Pitt. She is from Los Angeles, California, and enjoys laying on her stomach and watching the insects on the ground. On weekends, she enjoys sleeping in and being lazy. Her favorite singer is the Backstreet Boys. Give it up for Miss Bria Pitt!”
He laughed. She was being her usual goofy self while playing in her room at home. Her pediatrician told him that there was nothing wrong with playing pretend at her age. It just meant she had a big imagination and was very creative. And she was! That was the reason why he wanted her to get an agent. She needed a place to channel her energy and creativity.
Even though playing pretend was different than acting. Nobody was telling her what to do when she was playing pretend. She didn’t have to memorize a script or practice a scene over and over until it was perfect before shooting. Maybe one day, she would turn her creativity into writing scripts or directing. At the moment, she was on stage at a beauty pageant. Instead of showing off evening wear, she was bouncing around.
They were having George over for dinner. It would be a perfect time for her to show off her impersonation of him. He would get a kick out of it! Uncle George Clooney. That was what she called him. George was the oldest, he was in the middle and Matt Damon was the youngest brother. According to her, anyway. They called him ‘The Kid’. Where is that kid?
That was the question they asked whenever he was mentioned. He was here, there, and everywhere. The last time they heard from him, he was in Italy with his ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow and Jude Law making a movie. Since it was the late nineties and long-distance calls were expensive, they had to wait until he was back home to see him. He took to Bria as an older brother or an uncle by playing with her in her room and being interested in whatever she had to tell him.
George was amused by her. She was something else entirely. He had never met a child like her and likely never would again. Brad was doing a great job of raising her by himself. He was currently teaching her about the LGBT community. They talked about what it meant to be gay, bisexual, lesbian, and transgender. He also taught her about pronouns.
“I was born a boy, so I identify myself as he/him. You were born a girl, so you would identify yourself as she/her.”
“George is a boy. He’s coming to my house.”
“Exactly. Bria is my daughter. She is a girl. What about a man who is attracted to another man? What does he identify as?”
“Gay. Unless he’s a woman then she’s a lesbian.”
“You are picking this up fast. Good job. What about a man or a woman who is attracted to both genders?”
“Bisexual.”
That was correct! If she came to him and told him she was attracted to girls or she wanted to change her gender, he would support her one hundred percent. She wanted to be both a girl and a boy. He didn’t know if that was possible. Maybe in the future. If she wanted to identify as a boy, that was okay. Or she could continue being a girl and do things that were considered boyish. She didn’t know. That was okay. She didn’t have to decide that at that moment.
The LGBT community was broader than a simple explanation but he didn’t want to confuse or overwhelm her with information. She would learn more as she got older. If she wanted to wear boy’s clothes for a while, she could do that. He would take her somewhere and buy clothes from the boy’s department. She could go back and forth between being a girl and being a boy.
She had a successful audition with the talent agent and was signed! Brad was overjoyed for her! She sang You’ve Got a Way by Shania Twain and recited the dialogue from Aladdin while acting out the scene. The agent thought she was adorable and talented. What did she want to do for a career? She wanted to do acting, singing, and dancing. They could look into those for her. Maybe Nickelodeon or the Disney Channel. She liked the sound of that!
George congratulated her! He always knew she had talent! She nodded, making them laugh. During dinner, they let her have some of their wine. She thought it had a strong taste and she didn’t know if she liked it. That was fine. Maybe she would like it more when she was older. Once she finished what little was left in her glass, she got up and walked to the kitchen.
Brad was going to take her to Target the next afternoon to pick out some new clothes. She was growing like a weed! They were going to check the junior’s department, along with the boys. She was already five feet tall and was still growing. At most, she would likely grow five or six more inches. He was five feet, eleven inches but she was slowly catching up to him. She wasn’t too concerned about her height. It helped her when she needed to get something down from a high shelf.
George thought the boy's clothes would fit her better than the girl's because of her height. They might have to go into the women’s department. When was she supposed to stop growing? Her pediatrician told them she would stop growing when she was around fifteen. That was in three years. He wished them luck. Brad thanked him sarcastically.

How Do These Celebs SIZE Up?
Do you ever wonder which celebrities have the biggest and smallest penises in Hollywood? Well today you’re in luck! Here at Mr. Man we love penises of all shapes and sizes, and we’re celebrating the delish diversity of dongage with the 20 biggest celebrity growers and showers! Only A-listers actors made the cut (or uncut!) and the results have been verified by our dedicated team of guy-ientists. Those are guy scientists for you non-academics. Hit the list below to check out the sexy celebrities with the biggest and smallest penises in Hollywood!
Watchmen star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is one of the most well-endowed men in Hollywood, according to a list compiled by Mr. Man, a database for male celebrity nude scenes.  The Emmy-award winning actor who can also be seen in the Netflix historical legal drama The Trial of the Chicago 7, is included in “Hollywood Showers” list. “During this award season, we thought it would be fun to recognize the actors who dare to bare all,” says Phil Henricks, an executive at Mr. Man.  “We didn’t feel the need to hand out trophies as these men have already been gifted with the best prizes of all.”
The experts at Mr. Man were satisfied as well. , they chose him among their 10 “Showers” in Tinseltown.  Viggo Mortensen, Ben Affleck, Colin Farrell, and Ewan McGregor also make the well-hung club.
Michael Fassbender, best known for his starring role in the X-Men films, appears on the list for his full-frontal scene in the 2011 film, Shame.  “The German race car driver turned actor is probably not as well known in America as the other men on our list,” reflects Henricks. “But judging from the impression that he made on our team, he should be.”
Among the Growers list are Tom Cruise who appeared nude in 1983’s All the Right Moves, Jude Law from 1999’s The Talented Mr. Ripley, Leonardo DiCaprio in 1995’s Total Eclipse and Tom Hardy who bared all in 2008’s Bronson.  “We applaud the Growers, too,” says Henricks.  “At Mr. Man, we appreciate all shapes and sizes.”
#1: Ben Affleck
It’s no secret that Ben Affleck is one of the sexiest men in the biz we call show. But did you know that the real-life DILF has the biggest penis in Hollywood? It’s true. He surpasses even the legendary Michael Fassbender (who seemingly fluffed for his Shame role). For a look at what Ben is packing, check out his massive member in Gone Girl. Ben there, hung that!
#2: Michael Fassbender
Michael Fassbender’s legendary cock has received ample time in front of the camera thanks to his brazen full-frontal performances. Michael really put other actors to shame in, well, Shame, when he flaunted his huge swinging penis. Raise your hand if you want more Fassbender dick!
#3: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
The talented and sexy actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II em-bawdy-ies Watchmen’s Dr. Manhattan like no other man can. He lends his perfect, thick penis to the role of the famously naked Dr. Manhattan in multiple mouthwatering scenes. Do we like seeing him naked? Um, Ya...hya.
#4: Liam Neeson
We’re Taken… by Liam Neeson’s cock! Now we know where the horse-hung Irish actor gets his swagger from. Liam Neeson’s full frontal scene goes down in Under Suspicion, when he makes a mad dash across a lawn with his thigh-slapper on full display. Just… wow.
#5: Ewan McGregor
Ewan McGregor is one of the nudest actors in Hollywood, with over a half dozen frontal performances under his rarely-there belt. And with his impressive package in Young Adam, this sexpot is an example of quality and quantity! When it comes to Ewan, we all win.
#6: Omar Epps
Omar God! Omar Epps is definitely an actor who we want to see more nudity from. But at least he blessed us with a great frontal nude scene in Conviction. We’re convinced that he’s one of the most well-endowed actors in Hollywood!
#7: Viggo Mortensen
Viggo Mortensen has delivered decades of dudity, first showing off his thick penis in 1991’s The Indian Runner, and most recently in 2016’s Captain Fantastic. That cock? Fantastic!
#8: Antonio Banderas
Many fans might not know that Zorro himself is packing an impressive sword. Antonio was just a twink when he showed off his genuinely thick sausage in 1982’s False Eyelash! And don’t get us started on that sexy au naturel bush. Just don’t okay.
#9: Colin Farrell
A man with a dashingly handsome face, dreamy eyes, perfectly toned bod, and an extra long dong might seem too good to be true. But that’s exactly what you get with Colin Farrell! Porn fans can check out his sizable soapy cock in Triage.
#10: Justin Theroux
My man’s lingerie? Grey sweatpants. Justin Theroux made headlines for his bobbing bulge in The Leftovers, but to see what he’s actually packing, check out Justin’s impressive frontal shot in Eight Inches Under. We mean, Six Feet Under!
#11: Robert De Niro
The legendary actor Robert De Niro was about as studly as they came when he was a young Hollywood hotshot. We think that his sexy cock, as seen in the Bernardo Bertolucci movie 1900, might contribute to his confidence.
#12: Harvey Keitel
This accomplished actor made a name for himself with his brazen nude performances. You can peep Harvey's hog in unforgettable scenes in Bad Lieutenant, The Piano, Ulysses’ Gaze, and more!
#13: Alexander Skarsgård
Arguably the hottest member of the Skarsgård dy-nasty isn’t afraid to serve up his Swedish sausage. Alexander shocked audiences by delivering full frontal nudity in a True Blood scene that’s straight fire.
#14: Daniel Craig
If you look up “daddy" in the dictionary, you won’t find a picture of Daniel Craig. That’s not how dictionaries work. But if you check him out in Love is the Devil, you will see one of the hottest daddy cocks in Hollywood when he lets it all hang out in the tub!
#15: Richard Gere
Richard Gere proves that it’s not the size that matters, it’s how you use it. The retro heartthrob bravely bared his bits in the aptly named movie American Gigolo. Now that’s what we call kicking things into high Gere!
#16: Tom Hardy
This British babe loves showing off his pint-sized package to anyone and everyone. Shia LaBeouf even claimed that he and Tom once wrestled fully naked! Tom Hardy boldly bares it all in some of the most memorable nude titles here at Mr. Man, like Colditz and Bronson. Hardy will leave you hard!
#17: Tom Cruise
Now we know why things didn’t work out with Katie! Throughout his career Tom Cruise tried his best to hide his package from the camera, but in 1983’s All the Right Moves, he briefly slipped audiences his Cruise missile. Tom’s nudity has us jumping (on the couch) for joy!
#18: Jude Law
Jude Law was every gay boy’s crush in the ’90s, but many people don’t know that he showed off his goods on screen. Jude Law’s best penis shot can be found in the homoerotic The Talented Mr. Ripley. With a face like that, does penis size matter… like at all?
#19: Leonardo DiCaprio
Back when he was a mere twink, industry favorite Leonardo DiCaprio delivered a surprising frontal scene in Total Eclipse. He was only twenty-years-old when he showed his fun-size cock and balls while standing on a roof fully naked! See, you can be a ladies man, even without the gland.
#20: Terrence Howard
We’re certain that he’s simply a grower and not a show-er, but that didn’t stop audiences from commenting on the shocking size of Terrence Howard's penis as seen in Get Rich or Die Tryin’. Maybe in Terryology (Howard’s unproven math theory) three inches equals a foot!

'Netflix has just dropped an extended trailer for the hotly-anticipated Ripley TV series - leaving fans' jaws on the floor.
Andrew Scott stars as conman Tom Ripley in this adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's 1955 novel The Talented Mr Ripley, though many readers will perhaps be more familiar with the sumptuous Anthony Minghella film version from 2000 - starring Matt Damon, Jude Law, Gwneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
This new version - shot in stunning black and white - follow's the titular lead as he scams his way to a life of untold wealth in 1960s Italy. Hired by a wealthy chap to retrieve his wayward son, Dickie Greenleaf (played by Johnny Flynn), Tom swiftly finds himself captivated by his employer's lavish existence. In fact, he becomes so entranced that he devises a scheme to assume Dickie's identity.
In the new trailer, we see a fixated Tom disturbingly repeating Dickie's way of speaking in the mirror. Meanwhile, Dickie's better half Marge Sherwood (Dakota Fanning) senses there's something not quite right lurking behind Tom's perfect demeanour, so alerts both Dickie and the authorities, to no avail.
"Tom is one of those people who take advantage of people," Marge says in the clip. "He's taking advantage of Dickie." But while Dickie seems unfazed by Marge's concerns, Tom begins to grow increasingly irritable at her incessant suspicion.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," he tells Marge in another scene, as his body language conveys quite the opposite. But Marge's worries are corroborated once a certain Eliot Sumner discovers the conman's fake IDs and demands an explanation. With the Italian police also on his trail following Dickie's mysterious disappearance, Tom has to constantly watch his back.
The eight-episode series is written and directed by The Night Of's Steven Zaillian, who also penned the scripts of Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York and The Irishman, as well as Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List.
'Every shot looks like a beautiful charcoal sketch'
Fans were quick to comment on the thrilling new trailer. Here's just a selection of what some of you had to say:
@honomyanlem9849: "The cinematography looks insane!"
@MariaVosa: "You had me at Andrew Scott. But Andrew Scott as Tom Ripley!?! Countdown to April 4 starts immediately!"
@FrankieWasHeShaking: "Genuinely one of the best and most intriguing Netflix Original trailers I’ve ever seen. Incredible."
@KathySolorzano: "As much as I Loved Matt Damon as Tom Ripley, I think I shall love Andrew Scott even more. Looking forward to this ..."
@RickHaydnHorst: "I knew Andrew Scott was incredible the first time I saw him on Sherlock. I’ve wanted to see him more, and finally, he’s getting the roles he deserves."
@amandasaunders2503: "Having Andrew in this had me sold but then to see the cinematography? Every shot looks like a beautiful charcoal sketch!"
@shirley1989: "Easily one of the best trailers I have ever seen, love it!"
@dlweiss: "I already know that Andrew Scott can bring the creepiness, so my one big hope is that his performance is also allowed to show how charming and convincingly harmless Tom is capable of appearing. That dichotomy is at the heart of what makes him such a unique monster."
@marc8750: "Finally something worth resubscribing (for). They (Netflix) don’t make good miniseries like they used to."
*Ripley comes to Netflix on April 4.'

spec for ep 10
So, this BTS photo has me inordinately excited for how these three converge in ep 10.
*Spoilers ahead*
It’d be easy for the show to have Rose decide to turn back for Lissa because she senses the danger through the bond, and I wouldn’t mind it but we’ve already had plenty of examples of their bond in that sense, I don’t think doing so again in this instance would do much for character development. In fact we had it happen in episode 9, literally, with Rose being interrupted in the midst of writing a goodbye letter to Lissa and rushing off to save her. And episode 9 was an important turning point for Rose and Lissa, because we have Rose explicitly repudiating the idea that she makes choices purely in Lissa’s interests. She’s fighting to become her own person, reaching for a life beyond being the guardian she was bred to be from childhood. She wants more.
So from a basic writing perspective, whatever choices happen here are going to be a little more focused on developing Rose and Dimitri’s bond. And, well, given my priorities, I’m happy about that. We also desperately need a mirroring moment here to episode 5, Rose turning back from what she believes she wants - a life free from everything to do with the Dominion - to return to the one she needs, to protect him at all costs, even her own fantasy life. The same way Dimitri chose to disobey orders and his own vows to the saints in order to rush to save Rose; to turn away from the life he thought he wants for himself in order to protect the person he needs with every fibre of his being. And he’s been making that choice passively and actively over and over again since. In terms of romance, now would be a great moment to have Rose be placed in a position to also make that choice, which is the perfect set up for the progress of their romance arc and lays the foundation for some of the drastic choices she makes for Dimitri and her love for him in the future.
I’m wondering if Mason comes clean or if Rose’s instincts prompt her to turn back or if they put together some dots and realise there’s an invasion happening and rush back to protect their friends and found family.
We know Janine’s been investigating the attack on St Jude’s and the evolutionary developments in strigoi modes of attack and general existence so I love that she’ll be showing up again in the midst of the attack -- hopefully they don’t kill her off, I need more of her and Rose in season 2, if we get one. If Rose doesn’t get back to Dimitri in time, then Janine’s maybe the only other person I can imagine who could get him out of the cell. So am I going to get some fun future in-law hijinks? Are we going to get all three fighting together?? Really hoping they don’t kill Janine off though.

my non-spoiler review of fantastic beasts: the secrets of dumbledore - and why you all should watch it
fantastic beasts: the secrets of dumbledore is just amazing.
