Okay! I want to know more about your four main protagonists from True North! Questions for all: 1. Name and Age 2. How is their relationship with sleep? 3. What type of colors are they drawn to and why? 4. What feels like home to them? 5. What can they not live without? 6. Do you have any faceclaims for them?
Thank you! This will also help me flesh them out so much so…!!
1) Names and Age
Faolan Cahl is about 26 years old.
Captain Cayden is around 23.
Aella Lyall is also 23.Â
Lexi Lyall is 24.
2) Relationship with Sleep
Faolan is a war chief by origin, but given his Reaver aspect, he sleeps pretty well. He has zero issue and is more like a giant lazy dog when not fighting. He doesn’t sleep in long bursts though, his body is used to taking little naps and operating itself in shifts. He can sleep just about anywhere, on anything, and when he tries to sleep it’s an INSTANT sleep. Fear him.
Cayden sleeps best on boats and ships, the swaying and creaking and sound of the waves are home to him, he’s a whole new man on ships - good rests, nice dreams, he sleeps like a baby. But on land everything is solid and still, and won’t give him that comfort, so he’ll toss and turn all night and take like… An hour to actually shut his eyes and rest. To help him sleep he’ll drink some whiskey before bed ordinarily.
Aella is the lightest fucking sleeper omg. She’s the first Lady Knight and has to always be alert and ready for both shifts in patrols, early training sessions in the courtyard or attacks and sudden missions. Her body is too stressed to stay asleep long. She always ends up going to sleep drunk, usually after a brawl in the tavern. Without alcohol in her system she’ll wake at Lexi turning a page in a book. So, she also gets sleeping drafts for when she doesn’t have her own cure.
Lexi is a dreamer by nature so her relationship to sleep is welcome, she’s only recently started getting nightmares but ordinarily, her feelings on sleep are great! She can sleep after coming up with stories in her head, and then she’s such a fucking deep sleeper it’s unreal. A battle could be going on right beside her between 20 men and this bitch is still snoozing soundly, curled up in blankets.
3) Colours and Why.
Faolan likes blacks and reds. Blacks kinda blend anywhere and red is - you guessed it! - blood. Reavers, man. Reavers. He isn’t really sure why beyond the fact it’s blood and coals.
Cayden likes rich, bright colours. Like reds and golds and deep blues. Purples. Silvers. He’s very picky about mixing them and has a good eye for what goes with what. He’s a pirate, so anything that looks flashy. His favourite changes like the sea though so idefk with this man.Â
Aella prefers purples and spiceberry. She just finds them inviting and warm colours. She’s pretty practical so she doesn’t know why, she just knows she has this scarf that she attaches to her shoulder pauldron that’s kinda like this mini shoulder cape that’s purple and spiceberry. It was given to her by her aunt. (it was her mothers scarf)
Lexi likes greens and blues, and yellow. She likes the colours of nature basically, because she’s an apothecarian, she works with a lot of colourful flowers and appreciates the beauty of it all. Normally she likes more.. Pastels. Like pastel blue. It’s like the sky. But deeper greens like the forest.
4) What Feels Like Home?
For Faolan, he was brought up in woods and learned to fight by mountains. Any place wild and unruly, and untrailed, is where he thrives and feels more comfortable. Thick forests, perilous mountain passes, long grass and jagged cliff ledges and caves. He finds home there.
Cayden’s home is the sea. He’s Stormborn, so hearing the rumble of thunder in the distance is less of an omen for him and also more a comfort, but definitely the sea. If he can’t be ON the sea, he needs to be NEXT to the sea. If not that then he’ll need to go to a tavern to hear loud, rowdy men and women and he’ll surround himself in the drunken joy because it reminds him of his crew.
Aella feels home with Lexi. Her cousin and her have been alone for so long, and it’s been such a struggle to keep afloat, but everything she’s done and does, is to keep them safe. As long as Lexi is beside her and smiling and laughing, Aella is at ease. Her second home is a tavern though, but she won’t go as far to say all taverns. Unlike Cayden. She needs to be familiar with the place first.
Like Aella, Lexi finds her home with Aella. The girls do everything for each other, they are best friends and family, and Lexi doesn’t mind where she ends up so long as Aella’s still there. On the side, for an actual place, the woods is where she finds her comforts. With the tree’s and the flowers. She knows secret routes and hidden parts of the forest. It’s a solace when she’s surrounded by nature and good energy like that.
5) What Can They Not Live Without?
Despite each other?
Faolan needs his sword. He gets twitchy if he doesn’t have it near or on his person. Warriors of Clan Cahl name their chosen weapons - they are super sacred to his people. To lose your sword isn’t an insult or anything like that, but it’s known to send some warriors into a panic, like they’ve just lost their child or friend. Since they’re buried with their weapons, it’s a huge deal for them that not a lot outside The Dhalmarri people would understand. He needs his sword, which counts, yet as a whole, what he can’t live without is his people. Everything he is and have done is for his people. Everything he achieved and fought for. The Dhalmarri is his everything, and why he became King was only for the good of them.
Cayden is a pretty simple man despite all his spark, what he truly can’t live without is music. You thought I’d say his ship or the sea, or his hat? He loves his captains hat but for sanity, he can’t live without music. Be it through shanties, mere humming, or a melodic strum of guitar from bards. He can play instruments and sing himself so if he can’t hear anything near by, he’ll make his own. Music to him is like listening to a soul. Music unifys and has a power stronger, and older, than even the most wisest sorcerer can explain. If asked outright however? He’ll say booze or coin. He’ll joke and brush it all off.
Aella can’t live without combat. Bluntly put, she needs the fight. There’s no deep, underlining meaning behind it, she’s a simple fighter who craves the heat of battle. She protects, attacks and conquers. She’s the most alive when fighting, be it through pointless bar brawls or for something/someone. Lexi’s joked that she should just become a mercenary on many occasions, and had it not been for the death risk - she would have taken it seriously.
Lexi can’t live without adventure. Adventure and her books. Lexi is driven to explore and find things - be it something as simple as a new route to gather herbs, or an adventure in they city. She truly shines in new places, and finding new things, secrets. Lexi is also an avid reader, which ties into her craving for adventure, pages can carry you to new worlds and take you on grand ventures into uncharted paths. She dreams both big and small.Â
6) Faceclaims For Them?
This is the most difficult question because they aren’t just average looking people and to fc them severely limits what I have in my head since, y’know, fantasy characters. BUT IT WON’T STOP ME TRYING!Â
Faolan I’ve yet to find one for. He’s difficult af ok, I still cry at night. NO ONE WORKS. He’s more or less POC, but bc it’s a fantasy world, and not fully cementing with certain races being from THIS place or THAT, it’s difficult to find a face for him.
Cayden would essentially be Andy Biersak with heterochromia, ngl. Dem cheekbones. I used him as Yosh for my DA stuff but was way off on that bc Yosh is POC it was just the closest facual structure wise I could get. Cayden isn’t a POC and Andy is actually startlingly close to what I’m picturing. (though i am still on the lookout)Â
The girls are so much easier ok, bless you girls.
Aella closely resembles Segovia Amil. Slayin’ with the eyebrows and the fierce look of ominous. Threateningly beautiful.
Lexi’s closest is Astrid Berges Frisbey. Protect her. Look at that face. So innocent. (she’ll kick ur butt and outsmart you thrice over tho)Â

Before They were Lost (a Time Travel Marauders Fanfic)
Before They Were Lost (a time travel marauders fanfic) by Belle Aella Baker Marauders
The 1st fan fiction of this series will be of the golden trio with the Harry Potter next gen (teddy lupin, etc), these characters somehow momentarily end up back in time, with the result of a very powerful time turner, as well as the help from Minerva and Isabelle. These characters find themselves back in the placement of March 1981, months before the Potter deaths, and the major order decline (Prewtts deaths, etc). During this time Sirius suspects that his lover (Remus) is the spy whilst no one, but Remus suspects it's Peter, though Remus isn't sure who to believe when Sirius becomes distant in the month of March.. when Harry, Ron, Hermione and Woody are sent back to this time, along with Teddy, they realise this is a mistake, aside from everything looking exactly the same at hogwarts, the only time they notice something is when they turn the corner and bump into non-other than Remus Lupin.
Heads up here looking at a conspicuously long fic.

Would you answer 1, 10, 12, 16, 27, 42, 47 about Lexi from your book True North? (From detailed questions for OCs)
Thank you and I would love to!
1. What’s their full name? Why was that chosen? Does it mean anything?
Lexi’s full name is Lexi Lyall. Her surname is derived from an old Scottish name meaning ‘wolf’ while Lexi means ‘defender of mankind’ and is a shortened version of Alexis, but she never uses it. She has another name that is basically the origin of her clan name; Sigurd and that means ‘victorious defender’. These names were chosen loosely based on the type of person she grows to become, and were more or less hopes from her parents.
10. Do they like children? Do children like them? Do they have or want any children? What would they be like as a parent? Or as a godparent/babysitter/ect?
Lexi is a kind soul so children do tend to like her, she can be silly and get them laughing, and she enjoys telling them stories. For the most part she’s alright with them but she doesn’t know if she wants any of her own. She wants to explore and live her life before committing to something like motherhood. She feels she has a lot of growing up to do. As a parent, currently, she’d be severely lacking. She’d be great at games and storytelling, but be awful at knowing how to handle a child full term - so it’d probably be best if she was to be a Godparent or babysitter. I think she’d surprise herself in her capability in that standpoint, because mostly, she can’t be around children too long. Their energies are way too chaotic for her and drain her very quickly, that said, she’d sword fight with sticks and play tag with the kids.Â
12. What is their favourite food?
Bacon and chicken. She absolutely loves bacon and chicken. But it’s only really reserved for special occasions, or when she manages to sneak some from the kitchens when doing errands for the physician. She also loves the mashed potatoes that Aella makes. She can’t get enough of those potatoes.           Â
16. Do they collect anything? What do they do with it? Where do they keep it?
She collects books; particularly old tomes that she shouldn’t be looking at. In Khania, due to reasons, magic is often looked down on, and anything to do with it is scrutinized. Forbidden. Lexi is naturally curious - particularly about alchemy and magical beasts, so she collects all she can on both and hides them under the floorboard by her bed. Usually she studies them, memorises them, because they fascinate her completely.Â
Another thing she collects is herbs - being assistant to the royal physician, she is often tasked with going out and collecting herbs, flowers, and certain materials. Sometimes, she keeps the extra amount for herself because she likes studying the properties and mixing her own poultices. Their house is COVERED in herbs and flowers that she’s found and uses.Â
27. What makes them sad? Do they cry regularly? Do they cry openly or hide it? What are they like they are sad?
Lexi’s a crybaby. She honestly can’t help it. Her heart is 1000x too big for her body and if something gets to her she’ll openly tear up, she can be very sensitive in that front as she’s really gentle and kind-hearted. She doesn’t hide away emotion because she’s an Empath, so when she feels, she feels. A lot of things can make her sad; death, isolation, poverty. All the usual things you’d imagine. But when Lexi’s sad, she’ll cry - as you’d expect - then try to find a silver lining once she’s gotten it out, or at least find a way to learn from it. If she can’t, then she’ll try and not let it keep her down for long.
42. What are their goals? What would they sacrifice anything for? What is their secret ambition?
Her goal is to become a physician. A true physician. It wasn’t easy for her to get the position she had because the ways in Khania aren’t as progressive as other Kingdoms - though the king is trying to change that. As a woman, and a young woman at that, her options would have been very limited if she didn’t try and break the mould. Her goal is to advance herself through study and hard work and help the hurt. It’s her nature to want to help people.Â
What she would sacrifice anything for would be Aella. No questions. She’ d give her heart and her soul for her family, and Aella is the only family she has left. They grew up together, raised each other practically. They balance each other out, I feel, make up for each others weaknesses.Â
Her secret ambition is that she wants adventure. Think Belle, that line ‘I want adventure in the great wide somewhere, I want it more than I can tell.’ Yeah. That’s Lexi. She finds her escape in her books, which spark the flames and take her to far off places, but she has a longing there still. She doesn’t want to only know the outer woods and Khania, or know places from the pages of a book. She wants to travel the kingdoms, go to where others haven’t, discover knew things and actually live the stories she’s dreamt about.Â
47. How do they act in a formal occasion? What do they think of black tie wear? Do they enjoy fancy parties and love to chit chat or loathe the whole event?
Oh God. Okay, so, here’s where things become obvious that she isn’t a true Khanian and hint at what the book is focused around (True North being that they’re finding where they belong and who they are). Lexi is of a wilder spirit in comparison to the ladies of court/and or the kingdom. Much more outspoken, free-spirited. Driven in her ideals. Less polite and grace focused. So, parties are usually colourful to say the least. In formal occasions you can bet that she’ll be up on her feet and dancing (which for a lady to do alone isn’t a good thing, apparently) she enjoys twirling, spinning and pulling others up to dance with her. Which…Also a no no. The older generation don’t find her as cute as the more open members. The younger Knights find her pleasant and fun, and sometimes take bets to see how long it’ll take for her to get chided by a disapproving court member. For black tie events, she’s had to go to a few banquets because she was dragged along by her mentor, the Young King’s brother. (yes, a prince. he’s the court physician she fought tooth and claw to study beside.) Ordinarily he’d have her by his side but sometimes he’s nice and let’s her go have fun. Which she does. The chit-chat she isn’t fond of, neither does she care for the politics, so mostly she’ll enjoy the food and the band. But she rarely dresses up, because she’s never along as a party guest. When she does dress up… It’s very obvious she has no Khanian blood in her. She has a liking for braids and decorating her hair with flowers and sometimes strips or beads. (Think Scottish inspired.) whereas the Khanian girls prefer having curls and lace or silk head pieces. It’s an interesting thing, anyway.Â
