“Chill out, sweetheart. It’s just a hockey puck.” 

“You almost broke my nose!” You all but yell, eyes narrowed into a glare. You’re practically hugging the wall beside you, having flinched away at the hockey puck Casey Jones had sent ricocheting off the goalpost in the ice rink.

He slides up to where you sit, the wall divider separating him from your frustrated punch. You sigh in defeat, picking up the hockey puck when your racing heart calms and tossing it back to him. 

You grab the textbooks next to you, rearranging them with a few pieces of paper with math equations scribbled on them. Casey eyes it with disdain, leaning onto the divider. 

“C’mon, you need to study. You have a test coming up soon.”

“Don’t worry, sweetheart,” he rolls his eyes at your anxious expression, “I’ll ace the quiz, no problem.” You cross your arms at this statement, looking at him with deadpan eyes. You don’t believe a single word of it; his past history of bad grades only proves otherwise.

“Trust me! I’ll be fine. In fact, I should be rewarded for how good I’m gonna ace it.” His lips quirk up into a lazy smirk. You straighten your back. 

“A bet? Interesting. What do you think should be your reward, though?” Your question stumps him, and Casey’s lips purse in thought.

What should he ask for? A free meal? A date? What would be something only you could give that wasn’t too outrageous?

“A kiss.” The decision tumbles past his lips before he can process it, and he’s about to laugh it off, but the way you grimace only makes his smirk grow. To his surprise, however, you nod with a roll of your eyes. 

“Sure,” You snort, “If you get an A on the quiz, I’ll give you a kiss.” You were confident he wouldn’t be able to ever get that high of a grade, so your lips were safe and remained unkissed. 

“Shake on it?” He holds out his gloved hand, and you grab it firmly, a smug grin on your lips. You pump your hand up and down, sealing the deal.

Casey groans in frustration, hunched over his messy desk. Scrunched-up wads of paper fill his table, some scattered on the floor. He slumps down with a sigh onto the open textbook, cheek squished against the paper and fiddling with his pencil. 

Why was he working so hard anyway? It wasn’t like he wanted that kiss for real or anything. 

He recalls your smug grin, almost taunting. He sits back upright with a scowl. He’d show you! He was Casey Jones, the saviour of New York City and soon to be the highest scorer in class! He’d prove you wrong and get that kiss from you, picturing your surprised face and the frustrated scowl on your smooth, pink lips.

Yeah, he’d prove you wrong.

The bell rings, signalling the end of the test paper. He heads off to lunch in a daze. He was pretty sure he nailed most of the questions, save for the trick one at the end. He’d do alright, wouldn’t he?

Yeah, he’d get an ‘A’ easily.

“Nervous?” He’s snapped out of his thoughts when you nudge him gently, having queued up beside him. He picks up the last mini parfait in front of you both, absentmindedly setting it down on your tray without as much of a glance. You like parfaits, he recalls, having shown up to many tutoring sessions with you snacking on one.

He misses the flicker of surprise in your eyes, your gaze softening when you realize he noticed and even remembered your favourite dessert. 

He turns to face you, surprised when he sees your dyed hair. “Woah! Nice highlights!” He remarks, and your cheeks blossom pink from embarrassment. He smiles widely at the sight. 

“Thanks. I just wanted to try something new, I guess.” You fiddle with the ends of your hair, looking away. He wants to add how good the colour looks on you, but the words die in his throat once your friends call you away.

“Hey, good luck on that test. Even if you don’t get an A, you’ll definitely have improved from the last one.” You add before walking away, a genuine smile on your lips. 

He chooses to forego his unsaid compliment, grinning widely. “Thanks, sweetheart.” He watches you walk away with the tray in your hands, sitting down with your usual group. He almost walks into a wall, stumbling back just in time and tearing his gaze away from where he’s watching you laugh. Were your eyes always this bright?

Weird.

Casey holds the piece of paper, gulping before turning it around. He opens his eyes, having subconsciously squeezed them shut in anticipation. A large ‘A’ is circled on the top next to his name, and he whoops in delight.

The teacher frowns at him, and he quickly shuts up and sits back in his seat. He’s practically vibrating in his chair, adrenaline and excitement coursing through his veins. He couldn’t wait to show you and rub the result in your face while gloating. And, of course, the kiss!

The kiss?

He pauses. Why had that been what he was most excited for?

Of course, he was excited about the kiss. It was what you had bet on, after all, he reasons. But a slight feeling nags him in the corner of his mind, unable to pinpoint exactly what was so odd.

It’s not like he has a crush on you or anything. That’d be weird. You’re just his tutor, after all. It’d be bizarre if he did. That’s why he doesn’t have a crush on you.

Right?

Dutch had the novel idea to put you on the midnight shift for guard duty last night, so you got barely any sleep. It’s too damn early in the morning to be awake, your eyes half-closed, all while you nurse a cup of coffee next to the campfire. Unsurprisingly, Micah is the only other person awake. He’s sitting across from you, fiddling with his (hopefully) unloaded revolvers. The two of you had been together for a while now, maybe a few months or somewhere near that.

Every so often, Micah’ll glance up at you, just to quickly avert his eyes if he thinks you’ve caught him staring. Not like you’d be able to notice, which your eyes full of sleep still. Before long, he pipes up and asks—more like tells—you, “Hey, sweetheart, why don’t’ya come ‘n sit by me? ‘M much more comf’able than that log yer sittin’ on.” When you sat next to him, your head flopped onto Micah’s shoulder tiredly. His head tilted to rest against yours; his scruffy cheek nuzzled into your hair.

Thus beginning an unspoken tradition of cuddling after long guard duty shifts.

Micah’s still gonna be a little shit towards you, but now it’s endearing somehow. Like he’ll sneak up behind you and poke the sensitive spots on your sides just to see you squeal and jump. Cue the smirk and some raspy cackling <3

When you two are alone, he’ll kiss all over your face if you’ll let him. D’you have facial hair? He’ll kiss it too. Stubble? Yep, you’re covered! Clean-shaven? Expect some kisses and a heaping helping of his mustache and beard affectionately rubbing against your cheeks. He likes seeing how you wiggle around in his grasp when he rubs his beard on your face <3

Once Micah gets more comfortable with you and the relationship as a whole, expect quick hello/goodbye kisses every time he enters/leaves camp. He’s adamant about it occurring when no one can see both of you. The last thing he needs is Arthur jabbing at him with a shit-eating smirk on his face. It’s none of Morgan’s business, anyways!

Admittedly, he’s not the most physically affectionate person when it comes to hand-holding or hugging; but when he’s upset/frustrated, it’s the only thing he wants. After particularly hard jobs, or when he’s just feeling upset, Micah’ll drag you to the outskirts of the camp, sitting down against the trunk of a tree. He’ll pull you down to sit in his lap, encouraging you to wrap your arms around his neck or his waist. You’ll stay like that for hours sometimes, depending on how he’s feeling that day. If it’s long enough, Micah will’ve dozed off with his head nestled into the crook of your shoulder. Other times, he’ll sit there in silence, enjoying your comforting presence, or he’ll vent about how shitty his day was.

Micah considers drinking around the campfire with the other gang members as a date. You have to ask him to go out out somewhere for a date since it just doesn’t seem to cross his mind that you may want to do more than just drink with him.

He likes seeing you wearing his hat around camp. He may or may not purposely start leaving it on your bedroll more and more often. Do you have your own hat already? Yeah, probably. Does he care? No. If you start wearing his shirts too? Ohhhh boy you’re in for a treat that’s for sure ;)

Micah likes to buy your horse fancy stuff from the local stables whenever he passes one by. He buys as much hay and sugar cubes he could reasonably shove into Baylock’s saddlebags. Somehow while Micah’s loading everything, Baylock manages to steal a few sugar cubes for himself. After a while of this, Micah just started to buy a handful for Baylock as well. For your birthday, he buys you a brand new saddle with shiny metal stirrups. Let’s just say to save up that much cash; he didn’t always give the gang its share, so to speak.

For his birthday, you buy him a new gun, and he almost proposes to you on the spot.

Somehow, he always manages to smell like gunpowder and whiskey. You’ll see him drinking with Dutch, and you go over to ask him what he’s drinking, and it isn’t even whiskey. He’s drinking whatever brand of cheap beer the gang had a crate of this week. Like what the fuck Micah, how do you keep doing this???? Not even you know how, considering you’ve never seen Micah take a bath in his life.

Bar fights are interesting, to say the least. More interesting than they were before, anyways. If someone says one backhanded or even slightly rude towards you, they’re getting a few teeth knocked out. There’s a reason why you aren’t allowed to go to the saloon in Valentine with him anymore.

When you’re out of camp without him, you tend to pick up rocks or something similar you think Micah’d like. He was real confused when you first started giving him all sorts of different rocks and trinkets, but he grew to like it. Now Micah has a container full of rocks next to his bedroll.

Micah brings you food when you’re working so you don’t go hungry. He’ll sit down next to you and watch you silently as he ate. Sometimes he’ll ask a question here or there, but he enjoys the comfortable silence more.

Okay I’m gonna do this in a modern day AU cause it’s something different and fun hehe

Employment Obito

Obito would definitely be a cop hands down. Cause it’s a very Uchiha thing, and he would be the type who is down in the action and not those ones who sit in the office and just sift through paperwork

He has a strong sense of justice and would be very empathetic towards people - even to the criminals, especially those who have a real compassionate reason

But Obito would still uphold his duty as a police officer and arrest criminals

Obito would clash a lot with his colleagues (who are mostly Uchihas) as they are less likely to uphold the same values as he (i.e. they are very black and white in their way of thinking whereas Obito sees the grey areas)

Obito would be very dedicated to his work. He is passionate about justice and fighting for the best interest of his hometown

Rin

Not obvious at all but Rin would be a doctor. And not just any doctor but a world renowned doctor known for her ability to diagnose the most difficult of ailments

Rin would also be a researcher in the medical field. She would be at the forefront of cutting edge medical research

Like Obito, Rin is extremely passionate and dedicated to her work

Rin loves helping people and protect those who are the most vulnerable in her hometown

Rin is very empathetic in her role as a doctor. She would sit down and take the time to listen to all her patients’ needs

Rin is very well loved amongst her colleagues and those who work with her at the hospital

She would not hesitate to sit and work overtime to get down to the bottom of a difficult diagnosis

Both Rin and Obito are very dedicated individuals, so much so that they risk burning out…

Marriage Proposal

Obito proposed first (with the help of Kakashi of course)!

Obito is usually good at expressing himself and what he wants but when it comes to proposing, it would be a very difficult thing and he would struggle

The two have been together for several years yet Obito would already know he’d want to marry Rin from the very beginning

Obito is actually quite a patient person and he would give Rin all the time she needs

Only when he and Rin have discussed about their future together would he decide that it would be the time to ask her to marry him

And as much as Obito had all these fancy crazy things in mind to impress his girl, it would never turn out the way he imagined

Obito would ask Kakashi how he should go about with the proposal during when the trio are catching up for dinner and whilst Rin goes to the bathroom

Kakashi being his usual blunt and straightforward self would tell him to ask her straight out

And Obito being all panicky about it would just blurt it out in front of Rin and Kakashi when she is in the middle of walking back to the table

Of course there would be a long mortifying silence that follows

But needless to say, (and very much to Obito’s relief) Rin would say yes (and Kakashi would roll his eyes at Obito’s stupidity)

Relationship

Rin wears the pants in the relationship (lol!)

Obito out there catching bad guys and being in the midst of all the action with his fighting skills and use of weapons would freak out if he forgot to put the washing on when Rin told him to

Both share the household chores

Both cook, but Obito is the better cook

Obito would always try and find new recipes to impress and surprise Rin when it is his turn to cook

They have date night once a week

Obito would once in awhile bring home flowers for Rin or her favourite dessert

Rin would surprise Obito with massages

Obito loves giving Rin back hugs and Rin would turn around and cuddle him right back

Both are affectionate and are risk takers (both at work and in the bedroom!)

They rarely have major arguments, but if they do it would usually be from some misunderstanding

They would sit down and talk about it and resolve it together (then make it up to each other in the bedroom afterwards)

At the very beginning of their relationship, Obito would feel inferior to Kakashi (as he knew Rin used to like him) and would become very jealous whenever Rin talked too much to Kakashi

But over time, his level of confidence and trust in Rin grew and it dissipated, so now the trio would hang out a lot

Rin would also be hanging out with Kakashi on her own and Obito wouldn’t mind

But he would be unusually clingy when she gets back from her catchup with Kakashi and Rin reassures him with lots of affection that he is the only man for her <3

There would be days where they just do their own thing but in the company of each other and that’s the space they really like

They like to take baths together (yes to bubble baths!)

Obito is first to wake up and he would always try and make Rin breakfast in bed if he isn’t rushing out the door to get to work

When either of them have a bad day, they would just sit there together in each other’s arms…just silent

And Rin loves to tease Obito - always! And she would find it very entertaining when he just blushes and has no idea what he is doing (because he doesn’t love a flustered Obito)

First Date

Obito would be so nervous he wouldn’t be able to focus on work the whole week

He would be making loads of mistakes and be super clumsy

He would totally put the stapler in the fridge instead of the stationery cupboard cause he would keep thinking what the best outfit to wear would be

Everyday after work for the entire week, Obito would go to the shops and fuss over what he should wear and then freak out cause he can’t decide so he just buys everything and decide on it later

But later comes along and he still hasn’t made up his mind

So he enlists Kakashi to help him

And when Kakashi sees the enormous pile of clothes Obito bought out of a panic state, he would just roll his eyes and tell him he doesn’t know whether Obito could be helped or not

But Kakashi being Kakashi would still stick by Obito and help him

And the day before the date, Obito would call Kakashi incessantly whilst at work in fits of panic, to the point where Kakashi would just hang up on him

Then on the day of the date, Obito would be hanging around Kakashi in an attempt to calm his nerves and Kakashi would showcase his annoyance but would allow Obito to hang around anyways

And then during the date Obito would be super nervous and Rin can see straight through this and tries to calm his nerves and make things lighthearted

And Obito would run to the bathroom and call Kakashi and freak out LOL

But Kakashi would tell him to shut up and just enjoy the date and not call him again

So Obito just does his best like he always does and Rin also sees this

But eventually Obito gets used to the situation and he would feel a lot more relaxed

Until Rin decides to give him a kiss out of nowhere

And then Obito would be thinking of it for the entire month at work LOL

Omg, I tried! I am not good with writing HC! LOL I think I can only write a story rather than bits and pieces. But lmao I just envision in my head that Obito is this super dork who’s so awkward with everything. 

Mind you, the Obito in this HC universe is what he would be like had he not experienced any tragedies. My HC of him would be very different if it is set in the ninja world after Rin’s death.
