How many of them can I marry then
This is the second time someone's asked about marriage and my CB
Anyway...
The only ones I'd say may accept marriage are heartsick and 8-BIT. The rest, though, will accept a ring pop at best.

Let's Read Peanuts (Only 45 more years to go!) – January 1955
There are lots of great strips I just don't have room to comment on. I strongly encourage everybody to read the full month at the official GoComics page. Today's month starts HERE.
January 9, 1955
I'm pretty sure I gave myself a black eye doing this as a kid.
Twice.
January 17, 1955
Oh. She's still around. Fantastic.
January 22, 1955
There are these little hints every now and then that Schroeder is some kind of professional piano wunderkind doing big shows when he's not on camera. I think that's a neat detail.
January 25, 1955
The time shenanigans have begun.
Charlie Brown turned 4 years old on October 30th of 1950. Patty was significantly taller than CB was, which would mean she was at least 4½-5 years old at the time. If she's 5½ now that would mean that at most a year has passed in just over four years of strips.
Except that Schroeder was clearly around 1 year old when he was introduced in May of 1951, which should make him 2 at most now. But that doesn't make sense because he seems to be around the same age as Lucy (if not slightly older), who claims in this strip to be just over 4. That's at least 3-3½ years of time passing.
So either Schroeder and Lucy aging more quickly than they should be, or Patty, Charlie Brown, and the rest of the gang are aging more slowly.
Oh, but it gets weirder. In addition to looking much closer to 4 years old than 2, Schroeder being 4½ years old would mean that he's gotten 3½ years older in 3½ years of comics. An almost perfect match, which kind of implies that the Peanuts timeline is moving in sync with our own. But if that's the case then why are Patty and Charlie Brown not 7-8 years old at this point? Why were they still in elementary school in 1999? Are they trapped in some kind of time-anomaly, doomed to live eternally as children as the years slowly but inevitably weigh down upon their souls and sanity?
Yes. Yes they are.
Anyways, I guess my point is that trying to keep track of things like this in Peanuts is a recipe for madness and it only makes less sense from here.
January 26, 1955
OK, you saw that right!? Snoopy was clearly thinking in panel 1 but in panel 2 he's using a normal speech bubble.
I'm just going to say it: This proves Snoopy can outright talk like a person. This is canon now.
Also apparently Charlie Brown just outright overheard him do it just now. Which explains a LOT about their relationship over the next several decades.
January 27, 1955
Is... that an F-bomb joke?
January 31, 1955
One.
Joke.
Thoughts:
Actually, trying to sort out all of the stuff that doesn't make sense in Peanuts is incredibly fun. I highly recommend it

As a fan of ghosts bbc who has never watched the American version but has heard that’s it’s not nearly as good, here’s my ideal list of characters. Because really, American history is so bonkers, how do you not make it incredibly entertaining? Just the premises of the time era/
Character 1: Native American, 1200’s/BEFORE Christopher Columbus
I don’t know what area of America the reboot takes place, but in my ideal version, it’s in upstate New York for reasons I’ll elaborate on later. Bc of that, the character is form the Iroquois Confederacy- I think maybe part of the Oneida tribe? (Also for reasons I’ll explain later). Either way, they’re not quite like Robin as they’re not the “appear stupid but smart” type of character, a bit more like Humphrey I think.
Character 2: a Viking
I just think it’d be neat. I don’t know nearly as much about the Vikings as other characters, but that way we’d get a bit of variety. Maybe a bit more like Robin, but mainly a side character that appears every once in a while, like how Humphrey does.
Character 3: pilgrim/puritan
Ideally mid-1600s, so before revolutionary war but at height of witch burning frenzy. Could be similar to Mary, but I’m thinking more so in uptight, rule-following in the beginning, but secretly far more adventurous than most (more similar to Fanny maybe).
Character 4: utopia member
I’m not a huge fan of the revolutionary era, I’m afraid, so no revolutionary characters. However, I absolutely adore the antebellum era as a time to study because it was so wild, so a character from that time! We have a relatively normal, nice ghost, except they were part of a utopia cult- bonus points if it’s the Oneida community or the shakers.
Character 5: almost a flapper from the 20’s.
This is our almost-kitty! She’s the younger sister of a flapper, loved music, and had obviously family issues- maybe also communist to deal with Red Scare #1? Would be interesting.
Character 6: man of the house in the 50’s.
This is the alternate version of the Captain. He’s a WW2 vet who came back to the US, died in 53 and is very, very gay. probably a government person who had to go through the lavender scare as well? (The captain’s my favorite I had to make sure they did him respect)
Character 7: Reagan fan
In honor of Julian the Tory, we have a Reaganite as well. NOT like Julian in any other respect simply bc I think that fits better for the next character- mostly a Traditional Family person who appears very kind but can be CRUEL- think your republican aunt. She’s a 45 year old who has some Very Pointed Opinions about trickle-down economics, but still died early into reagan’s reign.
Character 8: stockbroker from 2000’s
This is Julian. He died right before the stock market crash out of humiliation from a sex scandal, of course, while residing in his families’ upstate house. Why, you may ask? Well, because it’s funny.
Anyways, I have no idea if this matches any of the ghosts CBS characters, but I think this would be an ideal American Cast. Feel free to add anything if you disagree/have ideas.

Before Young Sheldon signs off this spring, the future theoretical physicist will reunite with a familiar character from seasons’ past.
“Tam is going to be back,” executive producer Steve Holland reveals to TVLine.
Ryan Phuong, now 22, was just 15 years old when he was introduced as Sheldon’s childhood bestie in Season 1, Episode 2 of the Big Bang Theory prequel series. Tam went on to make 29 additional appearances through Season 4, and was last seen nearly three years ago, in an episode that aired in April 2021.
Tam was the first character created for Young Sheldon to cross over to Big Bang. His adult counterpart (played by Survivor’s Remorse actor Robert Wu) made an appearance in a Season 12 episode that revealed why Tam eventually earned himself a spot on Sheldon’s infamous enemies list:
“When I got accepted to grad school at Caltech, I was afraid to move so far away from home, so Tam said he’d move out here with me and be my roommate,” Sheldon explained to Amy. “Then over the summer, he got a girlfriend… even after reading all the pamphlets I gave him about social diseases. Anyway, Tam stayed with her in Texas and I had to move out here all by myself. It was [scary]. I was lonely. I thought I’d never make a friend again — and for a long time, I didn’t.” (Per Big Bang lore, Sheldon moves to Pasadena in 1994 and doesn’t befriend Leonard Hofstadter until 2003.)
youtube
That same episode revealed what became of Tam: He married his girlfriend Beth and together they had “amazing children,” including at least one son who was considering attending Caltech when Tam and Sheldon were reunited in 2018.
Asked if Tam’s return to Young Sheldon in the offshoot’s seventh and final season will be informed by what we learned on Big Bang, Holland tells TVLine, “I think there will be a nod to that.”
Young Sheldon currently airs Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS. Its 14-episode farewell run will conclude with a one-hour series finale on May 16. An airdate for Tam’s return has not yet been revealed.

First - ok, do the Ljosalfar also exist in the world of this story? (then again, are the Ljosalfar even a distinction from the Dokkalfar that existed pre-Christian influence? I dunno, the mythology is fairly incomplete as it stands, and none of this has anythign to do with the story so why am I spending so much time on this anyway?) Second, why does getting hit on the head give Jo the Second Sight? Or did she always have the capacity for it, and the hit just catalyzed it? REGARDLESS, as none of that has anythign to do with the actual control part of the story, moving on. It's a good story. Very fantasy, but I grew up LOVING mythology, so even though I'm a little rusty on it, seeing something drawing on myth is lovely. And the idea of control that most folk dont' notice, and that even though she *does* notice it Jo can't resist? It works within the context of the story. The actual control we see is fairly pedestrian by EMCSA standards, but the worldbuilding done around it means I like this story much more than I might have otherwise. 8/10 spirals

This falls into the therapist abusing trust trope I strongly dislike, but outside of that it's well done and put together. If you like the trope, give this one a read!

I don't know what to say about this story. It's so far out of my general realm of control I like that I have no frame of reference for it. It's half possession, half mind control of a different sort, and just not my style. But If you like dream and possession magic, give it a go?

Huh, from the title I was expecting this to be a Girls(tm) story, not a superhero story, and not such a tragic one at that. Oh, it has its moments of heat, during the transformation that takes place, but the end of it is just tragic. To be forced to continue loving someone who's dead, unable to truly mourn, No matter how much heat is in the rest of the story, I can't find it hot on the whole with that layer of tragedy underlying it. it's a GOOD story, just ... another one that isn't really erotica to me. 5/10 spirals

This story feels like a cross between Green Eggs and Ham and The Cat in the Hat. I get distracted by the couplets, especially the occasional slant rhyme, and honestly Dr Seuess-esque language in an erotica story is just offputting. 3/10 spirals

... There is no IRB in the country that would approve this story, so this isn't just self-funded, but there can't be any meaningful oversight either. Also, her work needs more footnotes. Also, she clearly needs to review what we've learned from the Stanford Prison experiment; any time a researcher directly involves themselves in the experiment, as she did, it skews objectivity, and makes it less generalizable. We also ought to be presented with the method of recruitment; the nature of the recruitment can bias who is likely to apply. Further, any experiment of this sort should have included a boiler plate "you may revoke consent at any time" clause. Which clearly X was not provided. Putting the design/framing of the story aside, this is ... well, clearly it bothers me a little bit, given my science background, in the ways that it betrays the doctor's intentions with it. Which makes sense in context, but I get distracted considering how I'd improve the experiment. And it's a solid experiment for the goal of "how can I make girls want to have sex with me," rather than "how can I test response to authority?" - they *are* two different questions. The external view of the shifting mindset is less to my taste, and X's clear distress makes this less hot than it would be otherwise. 5/10 spirals

Nope, I had to nope out of this one. I can't with stories of a pandemic spreading and people minimizing it until it's undeniable that it has to be worse that they say it is. I just can't.

This one is a lot more magic than my preference, though the sudden internal changes are fascinating and add some heat for me. And Merrion acknowledging that he's being unethical actually makes me feel better, in some ways? I at least have more hope that he'll treat Paula right after this. And she clearly is getting something out of it, too, which helps. But it does come down to just being too magic for my tastes - though if you like magical artifacts driving the control, give this one a look. 6/10 spirals

I never quite understand how pleasure is that overwhelming for folk. It can be fun to play with, sure, but to make me completely let go around someone who puts me on edge? I don't get it and never will. Especially given the context of their interaction here. Maybe I'm just too ace to ever truly grok it, though. But the way she uses the sensation to take control, to build an effective overload induction as she does? It's well done and well written, if a bit cold for my personal preferences. 7/10 spirals

Another induction, and one that would be *really* good for folk who have trouble staying completely focused on a hypnotist, if it were a recording rather than a text induction, as it was clearly written to be read aloud. The way it uses the idea of focusing on something other than the hypnotist, and letting their voice (and I want to say her, because I'm hearing Lady Ru'etha's voice reading it in my head, for all it's Jukebox's words) just slip past the conscious awareness. It does, of course, include arousal and orgasm suggestions, so be aware of that if you're susceptible to text inductions, but I also recommend hypnotists read this one and take some inspiration for if playing with folk who are easily distracted when trancing. 9/10 spirals

Ok, this has nothing to deal with you, but i need someone who understands 😭
... what if I tell that I may be changing txt biases very soon?? And it feels so weird cause my choice of bias tend to be set in stone! I've had the same bias in shinee for 10 years, I had the same celebrity crush for about 8 years. I am not the type to switch up like that.
But like, beomgyu is not hitting the same as he used to before. Maybe it has been downhill since the red hair that looked too similar to my mom's hair. Or maybe as he shows more and more of his personality it is starting to feel so similar to mine that it has become uncomfortable (we seen to have many flaws behavioral patterns in common). Or maybe I got so used to his face that it doesn't have the same effect anymore. Idk. I hope he manages to wow me back this comeback.
And then on the other side... I saw a little while ago some images of yeonjun in his latest live (I guess two days ago?) and it did something to me. I used to be somewhat interested in him back during puma and blue hour eras - the contrast between his extra fluffy cheeks and slightly more robust upper body muscles was quite charming to me. And then after that both his cheeks and muscles deflated, and so did my interest. But then I saw those images today and it caught my eyes like he hadn't in so long, so I decided to watch a part of the live (in the car so I have an excuse to avoid talking to my bigoted driver) and I am certain that something in his face changed. His cheeks suddenly look a little more sculpted, his lips are looking lightly very lightly bruised and swollen, and maybe I'm tripping about this one but something about the way he is interacting with his own nose makes me think that it's part of the package too... AND I LIKE IT! Suddenly he looked so much more attractive to me 😭 SOMETHING CHANGED AND I AM ALL FOR IT.
God, I feel a bit pathetic for even caring about these things. I am literally engaged and still here I am thinking about pretty kpop boys being pretty lol
~♡anon
Nooo I will never understand not biasing gyu 😭😭😭
Jk i change bias all the time yeonjun was actually my first bias and I wrote my first txt fic for him but then long haired gyu happened and it was over for me
But I actually also lost a bit of interest in him during this cb because 1) i dislikes the song so didn't watch his fancams, 2) i really disliked the red hair and thought it washed out his features + i think he got too skinny so i was overall not vibing with his look but thankfully he's gone back to brown/black and will hopefully bulk a bit more
But if I was gonna shift biases it would be to Taehyun not yeonjun. I'm sad to say but i'm not a fan of what they're done to his face. It was too excessive to the point that whenever I see him I just notice his nose/eyes etc. It's a shame because I really really loved his looks in the past but he's getting more attention than ever so good for him.
But anyway i get you about feeling pathetic about it lol but men too have crushes on actresses/singers etc so we're allowed to like kpop boys lmao

oh and my hesrt was broken by a guy… he has the same name as i do (unisex name) we were 8-9 years at the same school and he had a crush on me 5 years ago but i didnt have a cursh on him back then so i told him that we are just friends and now since 2-3 years i started to have a crush on him but now i found out that he has a crush on deomeone else (this is mainly the reason why im so delulu rn) (i was always delulu but this is literally getting so out of hand) i also started kind of disliking zb1 i mean not that i dont like them anymore its just im not keeping up with their content now as much as i did like bro my ult groups are always changing (once it was shinee then svt then got7 then nct then gidle then enhypen then txt then svt again then treasure then zb1 and xikers and now its new jeans, le sserafim, xikers, ateez and enhypen (just that i dont keep up eith xikers and ateez content that much)😐😐😐😐 get me some help like i literally love them for a time then lose interesy in them and find another group and then its repeating all the time ykyk omg im so no

girl the macarons were awful. too sugary (i should've expect this from algeria they love getting diabetes...) </3 i felt like i was eating blocks of sugar there was no other taste i wanted to cry ok. waiting for you to buy me a macaron factory or else im gonna have to marry someone who makes them properly.
this may seem like 'not a real job' but even this is very important on your resume when you'll look for work later! it's still a great experience
that's every little brothers 🙏🏼 i have two and there's days i wanna crush them to the ground and days i wanna give them everything </3 but the age difference between you two is so big!! you know what's cool about that? you can design that kid 🤭 you can teach him how to be a good person, give him good taste, everything! that's the best thing about younger siblings
hE HAS ANOTHER CRUSH NOW?? HOW COULD HE MOVE ON FROM THE PURE??? nah he has no idea what he's missing rn 👹 don't be heartbroken over... a man 😧 okay?? move on too >:( he's no heejake >:(
ABOUT THE ULT THING. i have no idea how ppl keep the same ult for such a long time like.... i mean mine are pretty much stable too but yk there's time where you lost interest as you get into a new group. i always end up coming back to my ult but there are period yk. when i see people holding fanbases for example i'm amazed cuz how do you diligently wake up everyday and do everything about one and onlY ONE GROUP??? AREN'T YOU TIRED??? AREN'T YOU FED UP WITH THEM AT SOME POINT???
plus my problem is i'm here for the music only 🙏🏼 i don't like the music my ult put out? honestly i'm not hyping the comeback or anything. my older sister listens to kpop and fr no matter if the song's good or not she votes on every music show, she streams the song, eveRYTHING. i don't even do all that when i like the song tbh... i think it's funny to see how everyone has a different way of stanning

LMAO no you have no reason to know who that is don't worry.
Elle Greenaway is a character from CBS series Criminal Minds. She was written out in season 2 and replaced with a character named Emily Prentiss, who was also subsequently written out in season 7 and replaced with a revolving door of characters for the rest of the show (interestingly, it ran at the same time as SPN, also lasted 15 seasons, and also got a continuation of sorts after it ended). We had Alex Blake (seasons 8-9), Kate Callahan (season 10), and Tara Lewis (seasons 11-15 and the revival).
Elle's replacements varied wildly in terms of writing quality and audience popularity. But the key is, the show did just fine with each replacement because the characters all filled a similar role in the team. I've done this fun little thought experiment for a while, but your comment about fans wanting to get rid of Sam made me think of it again. Because the thing is! I don't think most fans, even Hellers, actually want to get rid of Sam. But you COULD.
What would SPN look like if Sam's death in season 5 or even season 2 was permanent and he was subsequently replaced with other characters that basically served the same role he does in the story at various points?
My theory and somewhat unpopular opinion is...it wouldn't look terribly different (except for breaking the writers of their brothers only tendencies). After season 5, Sam's main role in the story is Dean's hunting partner, foil, and the person Dean feels most responsible for.
But the thing is, the way Dean's written and the way Sam is written basically means you could realistically put almost any semi-Samcoded member of their found family into that role without ultimately changing the story overmuch. Because Dean feels responsible for everybody and would absolutely fill that Sam-shaped void with someone else if he lost Sam for good, and also because nothing that happens after season 5 absolutely requires the person filling Sam's shoes to BE Sam specifically.
He has no significant long-term relationships that are essential to the show's plot or themes. He has no plots that intertwine with his character development intricately enough to be inseparable after like season 5. He has very little character development in general after season 8.
Which is not a criticism of Sam per se! But is a criticism of the way the writers utilize him (or don't rather) for 2/3rds of the show.
Anyway I may or may not have how this would work plotted out through like. Season 10. That's always where I get stuck because like. To keep with the Elle Greenaway of it all and continue the trend of Dean losing a little brother every couple of seasons, that's technically where I'd have to kill Kevin. But I really, REALLY don't wanna kill Kevin!
Back on my "Sam should have been given the Elle Greenaway treatment" bullshit.

Mick and Prophet what can you tell me about them 8)? You say comfort pairing so like, what's ypur favorite thing to think about them? Any like, particular dates or interactions that you find yourself thinking back on constantly?
dilfconstantine i love u for this question. in fact going insane as we speak. OKAY so;; i just love them so bad. silly little fbi agents living rent free in my mind fr. n as I said before, since we don't know much about them it's up to me to fill in the plot holes and maybe project onto a little but ANYWAY there's just so much you can do with these two it's actually INSANE. like i could write an entire season abt the main characters iykwim (pspsp cbs give me their rights im sure we can talk this out please pleasw) as for my favorite thing to think abt them, it'd probably be the process of them getting together tbh. bc there's just SO MANY POSSIBILITIES MAN u can drop them in ANY scenario and work it out its insane i love what they have in the show,, their friendship, how much they trust each other, looking out for one another and the constant teasing etc etc oh i feel unwell
as for canon interactions WHERE DO I EVEN START it's the little things man. the little gestures that make me want to bang my head against a wall u know? but yeahhsahd one that i constantly think abt is the one below, and IT MAY NOT SEEM LIKE MUCH BUT TRUST ME IT IS MUCH BRO (theres many. others.)
i just think they're cute
#answered#i miss them so BAD it's not funny anymore#i rewatch the show and then look back at my hcs and it just makes me look delusional

Team Top 10 Tunes : Charlie Cox

Radio Host: Ladies and Gentlemen! Where have you been? It’s been a belter of a summer here in the Dayglo, and we missed you! It’s been groovier than The Rainbow, ravier than the Balearics, more dehydrated than Glastonbury, more rancid than A Big Day Out, more diva than Nell’s...and where were you? Never mind you’re back, the Dayglo is heaving, the bar is open, and please welcome if you will as tonight’s DJ one of the most interesting actors around – all the way from Blighty a man who was a pleasure to do business with (on The Ordained, and stand by folks, let us see if it gets through the gate to series with CBS); smart, urbane, impeccably mannered and extremely talented. You may know him best from Stardust or Downton Abbey (ep 1) or Moby Dick or heaps of other stuff. We know him best as the IRA fella in Boardwalk Empire (seasons 2 & 3) in which he was WAY WICKED! Anyway, enough from me, the screams are too loud for me to hear myself anyway...here he is, a big Dayglo hand, if you will...for the marvelous....MR CHARLIE COX!
Charlie Cox:
I Thought I'd put together a list of slightly lesser known classics. I've had to resist listing a Dylan, Pink Floyd or Justin Beiber (last one was a joke) but hoped it would be more interesting this way.
1. Lawrence, KS - Josh Ritter
Through a strange set of circumstances I ended up becoming friends with Josh long after being a huge fan of his. I once heard him sing this one live with no microphone or amp. He just belted it out from the front of the stage. Made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. It was extraordinary.
2. Ain't No Sunshine - Bill Withers
There's a quality to Bill Withers voice that is so moving to me. Something very gravelly and resonant. He seems like a real "salt of the earth" musician. I heard that he was discovered whilst fitting toilet seats to Boeing 747's. No idea if it’s true but very cool if it is.
3. Bulbs - Van Morrison
I see that a few people have chosen Sweet Thing already which would arguably have been my pick. So for a little variation I thought I'd submit this lesser known track from the album Veedon Fleece. Really gets me excited this song especially when the piano kicks in after 30 seconds! I kind of hate it when "old timers" say it, but when I hear this song I tend to agree... "They just don't make songs like this anymore"!!!!
4. Within the Rose - Matthew and the Atlas
The vocal harmonies that these guys do are stunningly beautiful. They are still relatively unknown but are on iTunes and I think are gonna be a big success soon. It's not mine to tell but I met Matthew once who told me the story behind this one. Amazing to listen to knowing it ... sorry!
5. Telegraph Road - Dire Straights
This one takes you on a whole life journey. It's 14 mins long so if you ever want to kill an hour just listen to it 4 times. I think if there was any band I could see in concert it would be these guys. Mark Knopfler on the guitar would be sensational.
6. New York, I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down - LCD Sound System
Just recently discovered this living in NY. Don't really know the band very well but absolutely love this track and its touching melancholia. There's also a great documentary about the lead singer who decided to quit it all one day whilst at the height of success. It's called "shut up and play the hits."
7.Crucify Your Mind - Rodriguez
Talking about great documentaries. About a year after everyone else, I discovered Searching for Sugar Man needless to say it was unbelievable and I think I cried for the last 30 minutes. Two days later my girlfriend discovered he was playing so she surprised me with tickets. It felt like an historic experience.
8. Something Good - Alt J
Another new favorite of mine. Don't really have anything to say about it other than express my concerns about "killing" this song for myself by overplaying it. I seem to really struggle to not put it on every time I turn my iPod on. Or their album for that matter.
9. Gabriel's Obe - Ennio Morricone
Sound track to the film The Mission and a bit of classical to my list. I think this is probably one of the most moving pieces of music I have ever heard. Morricone, has elevated countless movies into a class above what they would have been without him. He's a maestro!
10. Untitled - Interpol
I very rarely respond to modern music that have little or no lyrics. This is an exception. I have no idea why I love it so much. It has a very dark, dangerous quality to me. Even the title "untitled" is in tune with the feelings the song invokes in me.

What’s up people, I’m back (probably for a limited time)
I’ve recently reconciled my differences with tumblr, and after a long hiatus have been playing some Magic, and because I tend to obsess over things, I need to get my urge to buy cards out by building lots of fake decks.
So I’ve decided to give you a deck that takes terrible cards and turns them into sufferable cards. And by sufferable, I mean insufferable. For your opponent.
Welcome Obeka
Wizards of the Coast doesn’t realize how good being able to end the turn is, so they’ll put it on anything. Unfortunately because Sundial of the Infinite isn’t *technically* a legendary creature (it *can* get there, with some help) I haven’t been able to run a completely jank commander deck where I end my own turn over and over again.
Now you, my dear reader, may be thinking “why would you *intentionally* end your own turn prematurely?”
This is where it gets fun.
Luckily, this time WotC printed sundial as a legendary creature IN THREE COLORS. Colors which can do dirty terrible things (for a price). The purpose of ending the turn? To remove the (at a price) from that statement.
Take Eater of Days for example. Now, with modern power creep (and it has gotten out of hand since I’ve stopped playing, so forgive me if this cards is completely too mana intense these days) (anyways) Now, 4 colorless mana for a 9/8 is pretty okay. You get it out turn 4 or 5, it’s bigger than anything you will see for at least a few turns (or you’re playing against elves in which case, I’m sorry) and you can swing it around like a big stick with flying and trample until your opponents Doom Blade it or whatever removal you kids run these days. Probably you will do at least 15 damage with it though. But wait, you have to skip your next turn? and then your next turn again? Complete garbage. So bad you can scoop this card for about a dollar.
But what if instead, when it entered the battlefield, your turn suddenly and unstoppably ended, giving the stack the middle finger? Suddenly it’s turn 4, you have a 9/8 flying/trample out and you aren’t even playing green.
Have a problem? This deck says, if that problem happens on your turn it doesn’t happen at all.
Losing the game at end of turn because you had to cast Pact (pick one)? not anymore.
You have to sacrifice *whatever* it is at the end of your turn? nope.
you want to pull off a disgusting combo with Conjurer’s Closet and Wormfang Manta (you’re welcome for that idea) but you need a way to stop it from skipping a turn in the first place? Just end the turn.
Now, this is a risky deck, because you lose hard to removal, and while there is a single counterspell indicated, I recommend you run a lot because a path to exile will ruin your day before you can say “Black Lotus isn’t that good anymore anyways” or whatever the kids are saying these days. 1 white mana will turn your easy 9/8 leviathan into your worst enemy, so keep a few tricks up your sleeve. Hell, you can even run pact of negation and skip paying the mana when you just end the turn instead (If you’re really desperate).
Just remember to flex by ending your turn before you draw to really style on your opponent.
Have Fun kids.

Let's Read Peanuts (Yes, all of it) - December 1952
There are lots of great strips I just don't have room to comment on. I strongly encourage everybody to read the full month at the official GoComics page. Today's month starts HERE.
Dec 6, 1952
Heh.
Dec 8, 1952
Honestly it's not a bad look.
Dec 9, 1952
Did that just make him cry?
Dec 11, 1952
Gah! Please never do that again!
Dec 19, 1952
No no no! If you just outright lie then of course he will brush you off without a second thought. You've got to start with something somewhat true and then slowly work in the bullshit over time. Maybe throw in a death threat and a passive aggressive snipe at his sexuality to twist the knife a little.
God, it's like you four year olds from 1952 have never even been on social media.
Dec 21, 1952
I mean, it's more than I've gotten this year.
Dec 23, 1952
One of many things that I think sets Peanuts apart from other strips is how well Schulz depicts depression (probably because he almost certainly suffered from it). You might think depression is just a sad feeling similar to grief but it's actually more of an irrational pessimism coupled with a persistent sense dread. Your brain doesn't exactly lie to you but instead tells you the most negative version of the truth possible which can lead you to some very irrational conclusions. You feel fine, it's the ~world~ that's broken (and keeps giving you these useless pennies).
Er, not that I know anything about all that.
Anyways, Schulz perfectly captures this in a way that's honest and sincere but also entertaining and kid-friendly. Which is pretty damn impressive when you think about it.
Thoughts:
End of the year character design recap time!
Again, not doing every character every year for my own sanity since the cast will be getting very large. CB and Snoopy will be constants but the rest will get rotated in/out:
Charlie Brown
October 1950
December 1950
December 1951
December 1952
Snoopy
October 1950
December 1950
December 1951
December 1952
Lucy
March 1952
December 1952
(why can't I make this one picture smaller? Am I doing something wrong?)
Linus
September 1952
December 1952
Schroeder
May 1951
December 1951
December 1952
The main thing I'm noticing is that everybody looks twice as old as they did last year while the expression work is getting a bit more complex and nuanced. Charlie Brown's head is literally half the size it was in 1950, Schroeder has aged up into an actual character and has shed a lot of his UPA stylization, Snoopy's face is becoming a bit more blocky and angular, and Lucy's eyes no longer make her look like some kind of cursed doll. Big improvements all around I think.
Linus... got a shirt. Look it's only been 3 months what do you want from me?
There's also a lot more detail in the backgrounds now which is creating a wonderful sense of these characters existing in an actual environment. Schulz is also surprisingly good at drawing plants and nature which adds a nice organic softness to his world. It's all actually making me kind of annoyed at the animated adaptations because they always go for something loose and minimalistic for their backgrounds and I think they would have really benefited form the contrast something more solid and detailed would have provided.
Finally his paneling and compositions are god tier. I mean, god damn.
Anyways that's it for 1952, I hope you all enjoyed it. Next up: 1953!

*The 2021 Emmy Awards will air this Sunday at 8 pm. ET on CBS. It will also be available to stream on Roku, Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV, AT&T TV, Sling TV, Fubo TV and CBS’ streaming service Paramount+. The Crown has 24 nominations this time! Claire Foy has already won Outstanding Guest Actress Drama, Adriano Goldman for Cinematography, and Yan Miles for Editing last weekend!
Emmy Nominations 2021: Vanity Fair Predicts Who Will Win
A close look at every award that will be handed out during Sunday night’s broadcast, from an intense actress showdown to the potential for history to be made.
After a year of television that felt more than a little unusual given the pandemic that surrounded it, the 2021 Emmy Awards will be an opportunity to celebrate the shows that got us through, whether via fantastical escapism, well-costumed romance, or the optimistic wisdom of a certain football coach. Just like last year, Vanity Fair’s experts have their eyes on a specific trio of shows—this year it’s The Crown, Ted Lasso, and The Queen’s Gambit—to take home the bulk of the prizes, but there is also plenty of room for surprise. Will The Handmaid’s Tale be the comeback kid? Will the final season of Pose soar to the top? Was it really Agatha all along? Read ahead to find out, and tune in to the Emmy Awards on Sunday night to see if we got it right.
A guide to Hollywood’s biggest races
DRAMA SERIES
The Boys Bridgerton PREDICTED WINNER: The Crown The Handmaid’s Tale Lovecraft Country The Mandalorian Pose This Is Us
In the culmination of its long, triumphant awards season, Netflix’s The Crown should finally win the top prize for its acclaimed fourth season. The period drama has won every equivalent precursor, from awards given by key industry guilds like the PGA and SAG to those given by notable outside groups at the Critics’ Choice Awards and Golden Globes, and found an entirely new audience with its rich rendering of the Charles-Diana saga. In the time since its airing, a serious challenger has not emerged to overtake it, even with the support for Pose’s final season or the sheer popularity of The Mandalorian. It’s time for The Crown to finally take the, well, you know. —David Canfield
ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES
Sterling K. Brown, This Is Us Jonathan Majors, Lovecraft Country PREDICTED WINNER: Josh O’Connor, The Crown Regé-Jean Page, Bridgerton Billy Porter, Pose Matthew Rhys, Perry Mason
Tighter than it first appeared, this race comes down to two very different contenders. The smart money may actually be on Billy Porter, considering the overall Emmy performance of Pose for its final season—the FX drama has already won three trophies this year via the Creative Arts awards—and the fact that Porter has already won this category. He’s nominated again for a true showcase of a season that’s hard to deny. But as Schitt’s Creek proved last year, the Emmys love a sweep, and The Crown—with its deep ensemble and clear overall front-runner status—looks tailor-made for one. Josh O’Connor stepping into the series’ center with his indelible Prince Charles is likely to find embrace amid the wave. —David Canfield
ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES
Uzo Aduba, In Treatment Olivia Colman, The Crown PREDICTED WINNER: Emma Corrin, The Crown Elisabeth Moss, The Handmaid’s Tale Mj Rodriguez, Pose Jurnee Smollett, Lovecraft Country
Emma Corrin’s devastating breakout turn as Princess Diana sits comfortably atop this list—which feels a bit strange to say, given that she’s surrounded by awards heavyweights like Oscar winner (and costar!) Olivia Colman and multi-Emmy winners Uzo Aduba and Elisabeth Moss. But so it goes. And in fact, her chief competition is probably another first-time nominee—Mj Rodriguez, repping the surging Pose and having already made history as the first trans nominee in the category’s existence. Will voters jump at the opportunity to make even more history? It’s a long shot, but don’t count her out. —David Canfield
SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES
Giancarlo Esposito, The Mandalorian O-T Fagbenle, The Handmaid’s Tale John Lithgow, Perry Mason Tobias Menzies, The Crown Max Minghella, The Handmaid’s Tale Chris Sullivan, This Is Us Bradley Whitford, The Handmaid’s Tale PREDICTED WINNER: Michael K. Williams, Lovecraft Country
Voting closed before the tragic passing of Michael K. Williams on September 6, but the actor, whose work included The Wire and Boardwalk Empire, was already predicted to win this award for his performance in HBO’s now canceled Lovecraft Country. Winners of this category are often well-respected veteran actors (Peter Dinklage, Ben Mendelsohn, John Lithgow) who voters seem to be honoring not only for their current project, but their entire body of work. And that would be the case for Williams—a five-time Emmy nominee—this time around. It would be a bittersweet way to remember a beloved member of the acting community who created some of TV’s most memorable and vulnerable characters. —Rebecca Ford
SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES
PREDICTED WINNER: Gillian Anderson, The Crown Madeline Brewer, The Handmaid’s Tale Helena Bonham Carter, The Crown Ann Dowd, The Handmaid’s Tale Aunjanue Ellis, Lovecraft Country Emerald Fennell, The Crown Yvonne Strahovski, The Handmaid’s Tale Samira Wiley, The Handmaid’s Tale
Dowd won in 2017 for her work on The Handmaid’s Tale, but with this crowded category stacked with her costars from the show, they’ll likely split the votes. And Anderson has always been the front-runner anyway for her transformative performance as Margaret Thatcher in the fourth season of the Netflix series. She already won the Globe earlier this year, and in all likelihood will beat out her own costars to take the Emmy as well. —Rebecca Ford
DIRECTING FOR A DRAMA SERIES
Bridgerton, “Diamond of the First Water,” Julie Anne Robinson Pose, “Series Finale,” Steven Canals The Crown, “Fairytale,” Benjamin Caron The Crown, “War,” Jessica Hobbs PREDICTED WINNER: The Handmaid’s Tale, “The Wilderness,” Liz Garbus The Mandalorian, “Chapter 9: The Marshal,” Jon Favreau
There’s a strong correlation between this category and the best-drama-series Emmy, which should give the edge to drama front-runner The Crown, and particularly the propulsive season four finale, “War.” But we’re spotting potential upsets in the beloved series finale for Pose and particularly the Handmaid’s Tale season four finale, “The Wilderness,” directed by Oscar-nominated documentarian Liz Garbus. Given how much The Handmaid’s Tale outperformed expectations in the nominations, we suspect this might be a place for the show to surprise again. —Katey Rich
WRITING FOR A DRAMA SERIES
Lovecraft Country, “Sundown,” Misha Green Pose, “Series Finale,” Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Steven Canals, Janet Mock, Our Lady J The Boys, “What I Know,” Rebecca Sonnenshine PREDICTED WINNER: The Crown, “War,” Peter Morgan The Handmaid’s Tale, “Home,” Yahlin Chang The Mandalorian, “Chapter 13: The Jedi,” Dave Filoni The Mandalorian, “Chapter 16: The Rescue,” Jon Favreau
Oddly enough, The Crown has never won this category, despite the dense history layered into each episode, which we suspect should give series creator Peter Morgan an edge here. For potential upsets keep an eye on Pose and the long list of heavy hitter credited writers; this is, after all, the category where Friday Night Lights and The Americans finally won after years of being overlooked. Pose is surging in Emmy attention for its final season, and you never know just how far that affection might go. —Katey Rich

Duchess Meghan ‘didn’t understand’ that the Cambridges were ‘the number one couple’
April 28, 2021
By Kaiser
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are co-chairs for Vax Live, a Global Citizen-affiliated concert which will raise money for global vaccinations. This is a lot bigger than I originally thought, which is saying a lot! The Sussexes and Global Citizen have got a lot of A-list celebrities and performers signed up for the concert, plus world leaders will be making appearances:
Prince Harry and Meghan will serve as the campaign chairs of Global Citizen’s effort to deliver COVID-19 vaccines to medical workers in the world’s poorest countries. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will appear at “Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World,” to be taped Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and air on ABC, CBS, FOX, YouTube and iHeartMedia broadcast radio stations on May 8, Global Citizen, the anti-poverty nonprofit, announced Tuesday.
President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will also appear during the broadcast as part of the “We Can Do This” initiative to increase confidence in COVID-19 vaccines. French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Croatian Prime Andrej Minister Plenković will also appear at the concert, which will be hosted by Selena Gomez and headlined by Jennifer Lopez.
Harry and Meghan are also leading an effort to raise money for the vaccine-sharing program COVAX, which hopes to produce $19 billion to pay for the vaccines for medical workers. Global Citizen said the idea is to push businesses to “donate dollars for doses,” and the world’s seven biggest economies to share excess vaccine supplies with countries in need. As of April, 60 nations had still not yet received any COVID-19 vaccines, Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans told the Associated Press. The celebrities will also urge pharmaceutical companies “including Moderna to make vaccines available at not-for-profit prices.”
[From CBS News]
Macron, Biden, Harris, Trudeau, Plenkovic… when will your fave? My God. And no Boris Johnson, which is HILARIOUS!! So, yeah, this is a big deal and it’s amazing that Harry and Meghan are co-chairs and that they’ve obviously been helping out behind-the-scenes. It’s just a reminder that Harry and Meghan have always understood how to use their profile, how to maximize their names for the greater good. I bring this up because royal commentator Robert Jobson was recently farting about how Meghan didn’t know her “place” in the royal food chain. Jobson said, in part:
“[Harry] is not the sharpest guy, but maybe he didn’t want to explain it. It’s hard work being a member of the royal family. People think it’s not but it is. It’s not glamorous and maybe she didn’t fancy that after at all….When [Meghan] saw that she had the little house and William and Kate were the number one couple she probably didn’t understand that and thought, ‘Well we can do better than this and start commercializing the royal family,’ well frankly that’s not acceptable,” he said.
Jobson notes that the point of the royal family is centered on “service and helping others. It’s not to do with helping yourself. I’m afraid that’s what’s happened here. I blame Harry really because he knew the story but he wanted his cake and to eat it and you can’t do that.”
[From Page Six]
Harry served in the military for ten years, founded the Invictus Games, founded Sentebale and did tons of on-the-ground conservation work for years. I think he genuinely believed that with Meghan by his side, they would continue to work on charitable endeavors, represent the crown and be beloved members of the Windsor family. He didn’t count on everyone in his family being engorged with rage, jealousy and pettiness. Anyway, Harry and Meghan are global superstars and the Keens are playing with sheep. Everybody got what they wanted.
‘It’s difficult not outshining a match on a windy day.’
