Kakuhida Fic Recs!
Kay so I’ve read through pretty much everything on ao3 at this point, here are some of my faves in no particular order! This list is a work in progress. I hope you guys enjoy these as much as I have.
Resist(ance) by Hoppsindel
“I’m at a point now,-” Kakuzu continued, “-where I have to make a choice. And I think that whichever way I choose will end up badly for me.”
Tore took a deep breath and gazed out over the yard and the fields beyond. He was silent for a few moments, as if gathering his thoughts and trying to find the right words to say. Then he turned to look at his friend with a very serious expression on his old, wrinkled face.
“Think of your future, Kakuzu. And think carefully. Is this man you barely know, worth risking it all for?”
Shinobi Academy of Music by lilac_bramble
In the Shinobi Academy of Music, the faculty is divided and loyalties are tested as the head of the Keyboard School launches his own agency and record label, New Dawn Artists, creaming off all the most talented students before they even graduate. Caught up in the crossfire are Kakuzu, a Syrian pianist whose studies in his own country were cut short, first by imprisonment and then by war, and Hidan, a young tenor who has already managed to alienate nearly all the teaching staff, and the sole student in the entire Vocal School to be taken on by the prestigious but elusive vocal coach ‘Jashin’.
Follow Your Arrow by Weirdowithagun
Doctor Kakuzu Hoku had followed one straight and narrow path his entire life in the pursuit of his one and only love; Money. Dubbed the 'asshole of the century' he constantly finds himself having to get new secretaries via his old friend Kisame Hoshigaki, the friendly and easy-going human resources worker. Unfortunately for Kakuzu, Kisame makes a bit of an error sending him his latest employee while trying to help out one of his friends, a man by the name of Itachi Uchiha, who's new roommate has been having a hard time finding work due to his less than spectacular legal history.
Hidan San is 'desperately afraid of his own desires', and throughout his unfortunate life has never managed to find a place he could really call home, or people he could really call friends, until he accepts a job in a last-ditch effort to appease his roommate that ends up sticking him with the man he's come to know as Dr. Satan. After a string of self-realizations and mini-panic attacks, they find themselves suddenly on a completely new path that greets them both with surprise after surprise.
Nothing Lasts Forever by Fuladaris
Kakuzu takes the diagnosis better than Hidan does. In fact, while Hidan demands to know why there isn’t a cure, threatens and cajoles and curses and clutches his rosary, Kakuzu - says nothing at all.
In Limbs and Joints by orphan_account
Being in solitary confinement saves Hidan and Kakuzu from the most severe impacts of the sudden zombie hordes wreaking havoc all over the continent. With no one else but each other to rely on, they tread into this new world where they are newly free yet not without challenges.
Half Agony, Half Hope by Devilfangs
After a particularly bad fight, Kakuzu is left heavily injured. As Hidan treats him, he comes to terms with the changing nature of their relationship and what that means for the both of them.
Is This Life or Art? by lilac_bramble
AU Kakuzu/Hidan set against the tempestuous backdrop of the London art scene. Kakuzu is an investment banker with an extensive art collection and a difficult past; Hidan is a notorious life model unwillingly moving into the world of fashion.
They take to each other inexplicably and immediately, but can they keep it together as their friends' relationships deteriorate around them and Hidan just can't seem to stay out of trouble?
Dress Our Pleasure Up As Greed by 83dumplings
Hidan was an arrogant prick and a bloodthirsty zealot. He aroused his most base instincts – to hurt and let his temper loose on his body. So then, why was he treating him with such ardour and generosity?
Contains: a stay at an expensive ryokan, overall homoerotic delirium, accidental philosophical questions, also some Daoism out of nowhere.
AND as an honorable mention we have my fave Naruto fic…
The Moss by m_jeevas
On a night submersed in rain, Sasori picks up young “trimmigant” Deidara half a mile from the Garberville bus station out of sporadic pity. An isolationist and a scorpion amongst frogs that prefers to keep to the woods, Sasori is thrust into taking on this new apprentice in tandem with “The Suna Three”, his niece and nephews hiding out from their relatives for the season. Within the forests of the Emerald Triangle in Northern California, we explore a tale of mental illness, family, and the cutthroat world of marijuana’s black market.
This one is majorly gaalee and sasodei BUT kakuhida make their appearances. Seriously, it’s so good. Very lengthy and still ongoing but definitely worth a read.
#just a few of my faves#mostly aus if you’re into that#kakuhida#fic recs#I have more friend fics that I’d like to add at some point tbh#but these are what I have hoarded in my bookmarks

"I would rather not trade in hope, because like all trade, it’s a spectacle of deception. I grew up in the animal liberation movement of the mid- and late 1990s, during the original Green Scare. I remember reading a letter that Free (Jeff Luers) sent from prison in some zine, maybe a year or two after his sentencing, which had a lasting impact on me. It’s been a long time and I can’t track it down now even with the internet supposedly making the rarest of documents available at our fingertips, so I’m sure I’m a bit off, but—sentenced to over twenty years in prison, Free brought up the Warsaw Ghetto rebellion as an example of how hope or the prospect of success isn’t a criterion for struggle and resistance. That hit home back then, and still does now.
The future cannot be foretold. A good friend who was involved in the underground resistance to the apartheid regime in South Africa told me that the late 1980s were the darkest time. [President Pieter Willem] Botha was in power, the US was still strongly backing white South Africa as an important anti-Soviet bastion, and the end of apartheid was not even remotely in sight. And then the USSR fell and the geopolitical situation dramatically changed, basically overnight. At first, everyone thought that was the end because the Soviets were the ANC’s most important backers. But a less obvious side effect was that South Africa’s pro-West apartheid government was no longer very important in the post-Cold War era; the fact that there was a strong movement in place to capitalize on these geopolitical changes was what brought about political change and the (imperfect) fall of apartheid.
The moral of the story is to organize and build movements of resistance even when everything seems lost. My view of anarchism isn’t utopian. In my eyes, every victory, every success, must be immediately perceived as a failure, as a power structure to struggle against and take down. They say perfect is the enemy of good, but that’s only because they lack any imagination and good is never good enough. Imperfection is a constant, but we just keep on fighting, turning victory into defeat into struggle at every turn."
-Jonathan Pollak interviewed in “A Nuclear Superpower and a Dispossessed People”: An Anarchist from Jaffa on the Violence in Palestine and Israeli Repression (2023)

I just wanna thank you for your post on the Mandela Effect as a South African! I get the whole effect people are trying to describe but calling it specifically that out of all the weird collective-memory incidents is weird af because that wasn’t even a global thing like the berenstain bears seems to be (I get that ‘cause my childhood memories are berenstein too) + it wasn’t even a phenomena in the region concerned + the people who coinedthat term didn’t seem to have actual exposure/connection/proximity to the events surrounding it.
No one who was actually in or near South Africa remembers him dying because the whole movement to free him was such a big deal it was truly inescapable. You’d have to live under several rocks of wilful ignorance to not know about it. There were a few Black freedom fighters, peers of his, that did die in jail or under police custody, notably Steve Biko, that were publicised during that same time period. I honestly do wonder often if American/European people just heard news of some notable Black anti-apartheid activist in Africa dying in jail and assumed it was him because they’d mashed all those guys together in their minds? Was it a news report about events in a far away country with bad information?
it’s could very well be because of their status as Black activists that got arrested; people in the western world often talk about Mandela as a MLK-esque figure who single-handedly ended apartheid and its flattens the whole history into a narrative about a messianic figure - the sheer determination of a special individual - when in reality he worked with a collective with many Black people and ANC members who did the same acts of resistance and even went to the same prison as him. He actively did try to push back against this narrow, individualistic idea of his role in history when he was alive. Many of these freedom fighters and political figures often get written out of history when the story is told internationally because of this, and their contributions to the movements (along with possibly one of their deaths) may have been subconsciously misattributed to Mandela.
So being from here, everyone I’ve talked to thinks it’s the weirdest thing it’s called the Mandela effect because it seems more like people living far off not taking in the news properly more than a true mass misremembering or… case of collective inter-dimensional travelling.
yes, exactly! this is what truly bothers me about the mandela effect being called that. regardless of whether or not people use it to mean the silly parallel dimensions theory or simply to refer to the mass misremembering of something (as most people tend to do today), which i do find kind of fun and interesting on it's own, still keeping it named after mandela is just incredibly tone-deaf.
no matter which version you look, every definition of this term is based around the fact that those supposed changes in people's memory vs reality are always small, mundane and inconsequential enough as to go unnoticed by someone not paying attention, and like. mandela dying during the apartheid in the 80s is the absolute OPPOSITE of an inconsequential or unimportant event that nobody would pay attention to for years. it's the sort of thing that would bring massive consequences to the history of an entire country, which in turn would also affect the world at large in different ways, most obviously when it comes to black liberation movements.
seeing this term get used to refer to actual silly and inconsequential things such as the berenstain bears misspelling or pikachu's tail not having a black tip is just crazy to me. it's hard not to see it as a dismissal of mandela, as if he is some sort of fictional character from a fictional country, whose impact in real life is on-par with monopoly's mascot not wearing a monocle. and i just know that nobody would so easily accept such a ridiculous conspiracy/concept getting thrown around like this if it were about an US or european president 🤷♀️
#ask#and it's not like i'm an expert on south african politics or anything like that. it's just that this reeks of americentrism to me#not to mention racism of course. it's as if world history that's outside of america and europe is as real as a fictional bear to them#long post

For the toh asks, 3, 6, 7, 12!!
Hey there 💕
3. Favorite episode? Why? Ramble as much as you'd like.
Man, this one's really hard because TOH has SUCH good episodes, but I'm going to have to go with what I believe is ultimately the popular answer and say Hollow Mind.
It's just so well done, it's been said again and again but the way they make the reveal of past foreshadowing (Belos being Philip Wittebane, Hunter being a grimwalker) is SO good. Even if you knew or strongly suspected, the way they do it makes it so the impact is perfect, both on the plot going forward and the emotional impact it has on the characters as well (like even if Luz doesn't immediately crumble like Hunter does, you can tell it gets to her and it starts building up overtime until it gets to her being full of guilt and straight up suicidal which... uh oh).
The way they make use of established lore with the mindscape, the foreshadowing and more lore we get for the future (wooo for Wittebanes lore but rip for Flapjack) is just so damn cool. Even while filled with dread while watching, the episode is just so engaging to watch that you can get pretty much focused on it during rewatches as well.
Plus, when it comes to more self-indulgent feelings, Hunter finally getting out from the castle and away from Belos + the papa wold Dadrius moment are just too good for me not to enjoy it. Oh! And on that note, Hunter straight up having a panic attack when they got out of the mindscape also was 10/10 for me, because I'm just not used to media addressing how traumatizing some situations can be for the characters, ngl, I was SO happy to see it and even happier when it continued in Labyrinth Runners, as weird as it sounds.
6. A character you didn't expect to love? What made you start liking them?
Not in a dislike sense at all, but definitely Darius lmao.
I vaguely remember seeing him for the first time and thinking "oh, he's so fun, he has such a cool design as well, and his voice is pretty, it's a shame he's a villain. Anyway-" and just continuing being invested in the Raeda disaster happening right there.
Truly I also found his abomination transformation the coolest thing I've ever seen, but in my mind it was like "we're surely not seeing much of him, oh, well" (which is sadly true, but not in the way I thought), so with such an "unimportant" character, there was no way for me to get invested or love him, right?
WRONG. Dadrius attack.
Listen. Listen. I liked him as a character but not so much as a person, I suppose, though again I never hated him because there was just so little of him for that to happen. But then Any Sport in a Storm happened and watching him doing the Head Chop™️ to Hunter was like "god, I hope this doesn't awaken anything in me".
I think from that moment I started toying with the possibility of him adopting Hunter because I was desperate so it was half joking, half serious and as such, I started thinking more about him as well, which eventually ended up with me and my thousand headcanons and theories about him, his backstory and such. As it happens when you're a Darius fan, it's rough out here.
7. Has the show ever made you cry? What scene(s)?
I cry. so much.
So TOH absolutely got to me. I think the first scene that got to me was the one that gets to everyone, Eda thanking Luz for being in her life and telling her goodbye before transforming into the Owl Beast.
And then you know, Season 2 is life ruining /lh.
So I cried in Separate Tides in the same part Luz wants to cry lmao, I cried in Eda's Requiem, I cried in Reaching Out, I cried in O Titan, I cried in King's Tide.
Shoutout to me crying also at Hunter talking about being unable to trust himself in Labyrinth Runners, and I still can't watch Keeping Up A-fear-ances without crying, that one's hitting a little too close to home for comfort, frankly lmao.
I think the rest is also very predictable, Thanks to Them when Flapjack died, For the Future during Camila and Luz's conversation and Watching and Dreaming when Luz dies and pretty much the whole scene with the Owl Trio fighting together, plus the ending. Like I said, I cry a lot.
12. What do you consider the most memorable scene? Why?
Another hard one.
Objectively speaking, I feel like there are two super memorable scenes: The repetition of Luz's speech about "I'm the good witch!" through the show and the way it gets recontextualized each time, from it being just kinda silly and about her using it as escapism a little bit, to her using it to reclaim her belonging to the two worlds she chose for herself and her identity as part of them with all the people she loves.
I would call that one probably the most memorable one. I think the other that everyone remembers, which is why I would say it's memorable as well, is Eda telling Luz the whole thing about how everyone was to be chosen, but if one just waited for that, they'd die waiting, that you have to choose yourself. Even more memorable since it came back during Watching and Dreaming.
Personally, definitely less sweet and less overall plot important, but a scene that haunts me forever and ever is the palisman souls in Belos' Mind finally reaching Luz and Hunter and the reveal that they're palisman souls in the first place: It's so damn chilling when they start talking with the whole "danger! get away from him! run!". Just... holy shit. Okay, that makes me one to cry too, we have established I'm a crybaby ajsfjsdg
I'm just... the amount of compassion for them to be suffering like that and to go "this happened to us, he killed us, please, get away, we don't want him to kill you too, we don't want you to suffer too", especially considering that Hunter had accidentally contributed in some of those deaths. I'm gonna go cry some more, actually, bye asfhsdg
Thanks for the questions 💗

The Controversy of Uralic Peoples as Mongoloids
During the age of European nationalism, Finns, Hungarians, and Estonians have often had the concept of their Whiteness challenged. Some individuals have even gone out of their way to classify these three collectives as a part of the Mongoloid (East Asian) race. The strongest evidence for this claim had to do with linguistics. In the 21st century, many individuals only recognize language to be a fluid construct that has no indication of race. However, Europeans of the late 19th and early 20th century perceived language as an ethno-racial marker.
Some Western Chauvinists theorized that their shared identity of whiteness was partly ingrained in their common linguistic heritage. A broad language family identified as "Indo-European" is what loosely bound the white race together. The Finnish and Estonian tongues, however, are derived from the "Finno-Ugric" or "Uralic" language family. Because of this discrepancy, the Uralic peoples were considered Orientalized by their lack of linguistic kinship. In addition to a difference in language, certain Uralic populations also possessed physical features similar to that of East Asians. Most notably, ethnic groups like the Khanty and Mansi have pronounced epicanthic folds and maintain distinct linguistic ties with the Hungarians. These linguistic and phenotypic attributes indicated that, although the Finns, Hungarians, and Estonians appeared to be white Europeans, they were, in actuality, descendants of the Mongoloid race. These racial designations were not merely trivial ideological conflicts either. We see its impacts demonstrated when, in the United States, early Finnish immigrants were not considered white. In their book, Peter Kivisto and Johanna Leinonen note how a Finnish gentleman was denied American citizenship due to his Mongoloid origins.
This condescending view of the Finns was even shared by their fellow kin from Central Europe, the Hungarians. But why? Why would the Hungarians, a fellow Uralic-speaking people, deny any sort of linguistic/lineage tie with the Finns? This rejection is rooted in several factors tied to race, culture, and politics. In terms of politics, Hungarians have often tried to ease themselves into the sphere of pan-Turkism. This was especially prominent during the era of European nationalism when pan-Slavism was perceived as a threat to Hungary. In a reaction to Pan-Slavism, the Hungarians have often hearkened to their steppe ancestry as proof to be included as a part of a Turkic union. In addition to political factors, Hungarian history has instilled a strong sense of pride in their descent from hardened steppe warriors. The Hungarian nationalists envision themselves as the perfect syncretism of equestrian valor and . However, this romantic imagery is removed by asserting that Hungarians are related to the Uralic people. Uralic people, who were not steppe warriors, but lowly fishermen from the baron reaches of northern Europe.
The Nordicists sought to reinforce Hungary's shared origin with the Finns by emphasizing their cranial similarities. In his work Intra-Nordic Differences, Suvi Keskinen writes:
"Anders Retzius, Professor of Anatomy and Physiology,
developed a skull index to investigate “longskulls” and “shortskulls,”
coming to the conclusion that the Finns, the Sámi, and Hungarians
were to be placed among the Turanian type, understood as of Asian
origin"
Finland's history of being colonized by Sweden only added to the narrative that Uralic people were naturally meant to exist as subjugated people. This was in no way appealing to the Hungarians who sought independence from the Austrian Empire. This degrading portrayal of Finns as a subjugated and primitive race caused Hungarians to distance themselves from any sort of shared identity. In the book Languages and Publics, by Susan Gal and Kathryn Woolard, the authors note that a certain linguist was disgusted at the notion of having any sort of ancestral lineage to the Finns. In contemporary times, however, Hungarians have largely come to accept their place as members of the Uralic language family. Though others may stress the possibility of Turkic roots, one cannot deny the distant Siberian influence present across all Uralic peoples.
As the era of nationalism waned, the focus on race and ethnicity also diminished. The tumultuous aftermath of World War 2 prompted European nations to reconsider their relationships with neighboring countries. This shifting landscape gradually relieved the burden on Finns, Hungarians, and Estonians to constantly affirm their place within the Western sphere. The post-war period brought a nuanced perspective, allowing these nations a respite from the need to continually assert their Western identities.

top 5 fav characters?
info dump to your hears content on this one cus it's basicly a blank check
FROM WHAT? ! ok uhhhh going to do one from my main fandoms I guess
Wtdw- the twins (shut up lollipop is one character cause I said so) anyway I love them because I think their dynamic is interesting and just something not explored enough in horror media and their really fun to write. Second fav is ribbon dancer
Fnaf- the day care attendants. BUT ONLY MY VERSION. hot take the dca fandom ruined them. Sorry not sorry. Um. I liked them because of their complexity and the iver all unhinged uncanny valley they had. But the fandom turned them to soft and like romantic. When in my head it's just like two teenagers who are done with everyones shit and go feral. Second fav is vany/Venessa
TADC- while it hasn't been a round long it's made a significant impact on my fandoms list for brain rot. My favorite is gangle so far and I would like to see how they progress as a character. I'm also a theater kid so. Second fav is pomni.
Underverse- fresh ink or color. THRU HI E SO MUCH GENDER AND LIKE ARE DO FUNK ANC EVIL AND I NEVER TALK ABOUT HIM EVER BUT HE DOES MEAN A LOT TO ME SIMPLY FOR HAVEING THE BEST CHARACTER DESIGN OF ALL TIME
And outsiders- I saved this one for last because it's the hardest. I don't really have a favorite. I love Owens complexity. I love Apos character arc. Gracies personality. Magics symbolism and story. Krows choices . Beks attitude. Mowhee everything! Like. I can't pick one! They all mean so much to me. I end up majority writing Owen cause he's the one I've seen the most of but every character is important and special and AH! I love them all so much. So yeah. Sorry I can't pick there.
Other than the last two you'll notice I have a trend with reallying liking characters that have like more than one mind I guess? Gangles comedy and tragedy personalities. Loli and pop. Sun and moon. Idk it's even with some of my second favorited Eric and ribbon. Vanny and Venessa. Huh I guess color counts too actually bring a fusion if fresh and ink.
A friend brought up the trend once and I thought it was cool.
I would like to give and honerable mention to sparrow from new life smp. Because oh boy is he one of my favorite characters of all time. But he's also like the only character of New life i love? Don't get me wrong scotts great but Sparrow is the ideal blorbo so no one can even begin to compare.
#salt answers!#Thank you for this#Won't be tagging characters or fandoms because it's a lot. And it's late#BUT EVER YOU CONTINUE TO BE TOP MUTUAL MATERIAL

Comparing rTMS Therapy and Medication for Mental Health Conditions in Hyderabad
Mental health challenges affect millions worldwide, and Hyderabad is no exception. With advancements in mental health treatment options, individuals suffering from conditions like depression, anxiety, and OCD now have more diverse choices for effective treatment. Among the most effective and safe approaches are repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) therapy and traditional medication. Here, we compare the two methods to help you determine which treatment approach may best fit your needs.
Understanding rTMS Therapy
rTMS Treatment in Hyderabad has become increasingly popular as an alternative to medication. Offered by Asha Neuromodulation Clinics (ANC) in Hyderabad, rTMS is a non-invasive procedure that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate specific areas of the brain responsible for mood regulation. Research has shown that rTMS can significantly alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions, especially for individuals who haven't found relief with medication alone.
How rTMS Therapy Works
rTMS involves placing a magnetic coil near the forehead, targeting regions associated with mood and cognition. Each session typically lasts 30–40 minutes, with patients requiring multiple sessions over several weeks to see optimal results. At ANC in Hyderabad, rTMS treatment is administered by a trained medical professional who customizes the therapy to each patient's unique needs, ensuring maximum efficacy and comfort.
For more information on rTMS treatment in Hyderabad, visit Asha Neuromodulation Clinics or contact them at 9777731111.
Pros of rTMS Therapy
Non-Invasive and Drug-Free One of the primary benefits of rTMS is that it doesn't involve medication, making it an ideal option for patients sensitive to drugs or worried about side effects.
Minimal Side Effects Unlike medications, which can cause fatigue, weight gain, and other side effects, rTMS generally has mild side effects, such as slight scalp discomfort.
Proven Effectiveness for Drug-Resistant Cases Studies have shown that rTMS can be highly effective for individuals who haven't responded to medication, offering new hope for lasting improvement.
The Role of Medication in Treating Mental Health Conditions
Medication remains a common and effective approach for managing mental health issues. Antidepressants, anxiolytics, and mood stabilizers work by balancing brain chemicals, providing symptom relief for many individuals. While medications can be highly effective, they also come with limitations and potential side effects.
Pros of Medication
Quick Symptom Relief Many patients experience noticeable improvement within weeks of starting medication, which can be critical during a mental health crisis.
Widely Accessible Medications are accessible, affordable, and often covered by insurance, making them a feasible option for many patients.
Various Options With numerous medication types available, doctors can tailor prescriptions to fit a patient's specific needs and adjust doses if side effects arise.
Comparing the Long-Term Impact: rTMS vs. Medication
Both rTMS and medication can be highly effective, but their long-term impacts differ. Medication requires ongoing use, which can result in dependency and withdrawal symptoms if stopped abruptly. On the other hand, rTMS, with its long-lasting effects, is often considered a more sustainable choice, as many patients experience prolonged periods of relief after completing a treatment series.
Deciding the Right Treatment for You
Choosing between rTMS treatment in Hyderabad and medication depends on various factors, including your medical history, the severity of symptoms, and your preference. At Asha Neuromodulation Clinics, patients receive a comprehensive evaluation to determine the best treatment path. For those looking for a non-invasive alternative with fewer side effects, rTMS may be an excellent option. Conversely, individuals who need rapid symptom relief may find medication beneficial.
Why Choose Asha Neuromodulation Clinics (ANC)?
Located on the 4th Floor of Fantasy Square Building, Biodiversity Circle, Gachibowli, Hyderabad, Asha Neuromodulation Clinics (ANC) provides specialized care and expertise in neuromodulation therapies, including rTMS.
