I keep getting suggested ads for the new FOX show. You know the one. And I just...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 not on your LIFE am I gonna watch that show! Not on your LIFE!
The one FOX canned 911 for? (Moving to ABC was ultimately for the best but still, fuck FOX forever.) After driving the show into the ground because they wouldn't just let the showrunner do the storylines he planned with Buck and Eddie? Using someone they had clearly promised a starring role on 911 to, but VASTLY overestimated their audience's tolerance for bullshit so they had to bring over to the show they cut 911 for? Please. You couldn't pay me.

hiii im new what does buck was in the room mean
omg anon hi!!! first of all i want to say welcome!!! i also do want to say sorry you weren’t here during the “buck is in the room” era because those were some crazy ass times (in the best possible way).
so i have consulted the experts (aka the teeny tiny friends) because i am SO bad at remembering the exact sequence of events.
so basically during season 5b we knew eddie was going to have a huge breakdown. we knew it was coming. and the week before 5x13 we got confirmation of it in the form of seeing promos of eddie in his destroyed room with a bat in his hands and his knuckles splintered. and this made us go nuts!!! but you know what made everyone even MORE insane? the fact that in that first promo you could see the back of a head in the corner of the shot. and that is how “BUCK IS IN THE ROOM” was born. people were analyzing the back of that head for hours, comparing the shape of the ear we could see with oliver’s ears. basically we all arrived at the same conclusion: it really was buck!!!! buck was in the room with eddie as eddie sobbed inconsolably!!! and then another promo dropped where you could clearly see it was buck because you could see all of his back and we were like “OMFG IT REALLY IS HIM. BUCK IS IN THE MOTHERFUCKING ROOM!!!!” because before we had known but now we KNEW.
that era is really one of my favorite times in the 911 fandom, no doubt about it. it was exhilarating and full of potential and the meta was so incredibly nuanced and good and it really felt like we all just were so connected to the characters and their journey and even each other.

Ok dumb question but I am fairly new to 911 fandom and what does Buck was in the room mean? I have seen so many referneces to it!
Omg anon it was a wild time to be here. I don’t have the screenshots anymore, but basically the promo for season 5b was released on Instagram and had the clip of Eddie sobbing in his room with the baseball bat, and everyone was excited about that…but then later in the day, they released the wide screen version of the promo to YouTube which showed Buck in the corner of the frame in that clip (like how it looks in the actual episode) so we all cheered and cried and yelled because we finally had proof that Buck was in the room while Eddie was having his breakdown 😅

9-1-1 5x16 Promo: May Day

Camera zooms into the centre of the Fox logo, zooming into Eddie standing in an empty corridor. He holds a walkie talkie in front of his face and looks slightly off-camera as he seriously says, ”metro dispatch is on fire.” There’s an overhead shot of the dispatch building with smoke coming out of all the windows. A ladder is extended to the roof and there are people and firefighters walking on the sidewalk below.
As there’s a buzzing sound, we see from behind a dispatcher sitting at a desk. The two monitors in front of him flicker and go blank, though the monitors on either side of them. As we hear Jonah say, “we got this,” we see a shot from early season 4, of May and Maddie sitting next to each other at their desks. There’s a brief glimpse of Jonah, as he does CPR with a serious expression on his face. As we hear a defibrillator buzzing, Hen shouts “clear,” looking down and wearing a dusty turnout coat. A black woman lies on a gurney with an oxygen mask on her mouth and she jerks up from the electric shock.
Bobby’s voiceover says, ”you're going inside, you're going to knock down the fire at the source” as we get a quick succession of clips.  Bobby and Buck exit the truck. Jonah pulls on a helmet. Bobby grabs hold of May, and they both look up in panic and flinch as the fire flashes over, rolling over the ceiling. Bobby pulls out an axe, and swings it at an interior wall. Bobby looks serious as he stands in front of the truck and says, “go.”
Buck and Lucy look intently at him for a second, before Buck hops on the spot and starts to run off.
The text on the screen reads “Next Monday 8/7c” as the camera pans rapidly around the firetruck standing in front of dispatch. Albert’s voiceover says, “i just wish i could be half as good at this as you are,” as we see a sweaty Chimney standing in front of Albert and smiling at him, following by a clip of Albert saying the voiceover dialogue to Chim as he pulls out some equipment from the truck, during a night scene.
An overhead shot of a person falling into a large jagged hole in the floor, wearing a turnout coat with Han written out the bottom. Chim leans in and grabs them, and strains out “I got you.” The person lifts their head and we see it is Albert, with one elbow resting at the edge of the hold.
Bobby is standing outside and ducks down as a massive fireball is ejected horizontally out of a building. Buck leans forwards, frowning as he says, “why is Cap going in?” as Lucy stands behind him, watching him carefully with raised eyebrows.
Claudette sits on the ground, face shining with sweat and looking exhausted. May sits beside her and turns towards the camera with a wide eyed expression. Eddie’s voiceover says “May is still in there” as we see someone climbing up the extended ladder at night, towards the dispatch centre.
A dispatcher and a firefighter, who look like May and Bobby respectively, run forwards as the windows behind them smash inwards. The firefighter shields the person with their turnout coat. We get a close up that confirms it’s May and Bobby, as they run forwards, Bobby looking up in concern as he keeps a hand on May’s shoulder. Sparks fly from the ceiling and part of the ceiling collapses onto where they just were. The scene fades to black.
We hear Lucy say, “May Day May Day May Day” as someone slowly lifts up the 118 captain helmet with both hands. It is covered in dust and is illuminated by torch light. Lucy talks into her radio, saying “Captain Nash is down,” as she looks ahead, eyes slightly widened in fear as she inhales shakily.

911 - 5x15 Promo: FOMO

Camera zooms into the centre of the Fox logo, showing Bobby hopping out of the front passenger seat of the truck. Bobby’s voice over says, “The whole area used to be a missile base. Alright, I’m Bobby.” Buck walks behind Lucy, both looking serious. Hen squints and frowns, mouth open with her top lip slightly curled, her eyes moving to the side.
Bobby walks forward as he says, “what happened here?” frowning in concern as he starts to kneel down.
We hear a child’s voice saying “We were just playing and …” as we see a black woman and a couple of kids within a circular stone structure, with the woman standing on some steps at the side. The children run around the dirt in the middle. In the dialogue pause, we see the woman standing on the dirt, before a circle opens up around her feet and she falls into the earth. The voice continues, “the ground moved and she just disappeared,” showing that it’s the eldest of the girls talking, standing beside two younger girls. Hen stands against a backdrop of trees, frowning towards the ground. A very low down shot looks directly upwards at the sky, and Buck slides into frame, looking down towards the camera with a frown.
A police car and an ambulance drive down a residential street. Text on screen reads “Next Monday 8/7c”
May stands inside a house, beside a window. She wears small gold hoops and a pink fluffy jumper. She has a slight smile on her face and is looking up as she says, “You ever think about what life would be like” Her head bobs a little side to side as she speaks. As May continues “if you made different choices?”, we see a close up of Athena, beside a fridge with loads of sticky notes on it. She turns towards May with a smile on her face. The smile briefly lessens before it returns.
A white woman with long red curly hair, wearing a flowy gauzy robe and white chunky heels, holds a phone in front of her, She says, “My personal sauna,” as she holds the robe at her waist and steps up onto the sauna bench. From the side, we see her looking towards her phone as she enunciates, “So fire y’all!” ending her sentence by tilting her head down and smiling widely. She screams as she falls backwards, the screen flashing rapidly.
Bobby pulls open a door, looking worried, Lucy behind him in a helmet. We hear him say “Let’s pull that door off” as we see the woman from before lying on her back with her eyes closed, face turned to the side and resting on a black volcanic rock with steam coming off it.
The camera pans up from the sparks of a saw to Lucy.  Buck holds a door in his hands, says “roasting flesh”, then grimaces and moves the door to the side. Close up of the woman with the rock on her face, the skin above it looking burnt and red.
Chim and Hen stand next to each other, looking down, presumably towards her. Chim says, “A whole new meaning to saving face,” turning towards Hen with raised eyebrows. Close up of Bobby, his eyebrows shooting up.

There's a long beeping sound as we see Hen and Jonah standing on opposite sides of Claudette’s gurney as nursing staff place a white sheet over her. We hear Hen say, “maybe Jonah did something,” as we see a shot of Jonah hunched over and looking up with a frown, and then Hen sitting on Chim's couch, forearms resting on her thighs and hands slowly clasping as she looks at Chim with a worried expression. Chim is sitting on the armchair next to the couch in his house, and we see over his shoulder as he looks at her eyebrows raised in concern.
There's a slamming sound effect as we see an ambulance pulling up to a scene. The voiceover says, "first with an epic all-new 9-1-1" as we see a white, blond haired woman sitting upright in a gurney as Jonah brings his arm up to waist level, holding a bottle. We hear Hen say, “this guy's bringing people to the point of death” as Jonah smiles down at the woman while he draws from the bottle with a thin syringe. As Hen continues, we hear "oh oh" as we see Helena, Pepa, Abuela, Eddie and Ramon standing in a circle in the middle of an outdoor parking lot, with balloons arches dotted around them. They’re dressed quite fancily, and Eddie and Helena have their hands out as they appear to be arguing. We see Ramon from the back as he clutches his chest and starts to keel over, and Eddie crouches quickly to grab him as Pepa reaches forwards with a startled expression. Hen continues, "then using his skills" as Eddie holds Ramon under his armpits as he lowers him to the ground, while Ramon holds a hand to his chest. We zoom in on Jonah, who stands with two women behind him. He appears to be at a party, as one woman holds a drink and there is string lighting behind them, and Jonah grins.
Hen continues, “to bring them back” She's wearing a black waterproof jacket with blue sleeves, and a black top underneath, and talks to an off-screen Bobby and Athena as she stands in their house.
We see Athena over Hen's shoulder, as she looks off to the side, one finger held up and her eyebrows are raised as she looks a little fearful. We hear Athena say, “He won't take kindly - ” as we see Jonah walk onto screen in a non-descript apartment, holding up something in his hand as he smiles. There’s a sharp metallic noise as the camera pans down quickly to show he has a syringe held by his side. As we hear Athena say,“ - to being exposed,” we see Jonah looking up with his brows furrowed and eyes full of rage, as he stands in Chim’s apartment. He slowly raises his head. We see him rush forwards. Hen is standing with her back to him, looking down at her phone, and Jonah grabs her shoulders and brings his syringed hand up towards her neck.

It’s loud in his head, loud in the house, the silence surrounding him begging to consume him.
What’re you afraid of?
Eddie grips the baseball bat tighter, clenching his hands into fists around it. He just wants it to stop—the pain, the nightmares, the loss, just—all of it.
There’s another voice with him, one that’s too far away but that can never be close enough, not even when it’s right by his side, or coming through the phone speaker that’s currently lying next to him.
Buck is there, but not really. Eddie can’t hear any of what he says, the thoughts in his head tearing at the seams, threatening to put a crack in the wall he’s been holding up for far too long.
His face is wet from tears that won’t stop coming, the liquid all but staining his shirt as they fall down from his eyes. The tears make him feel weak, disappointed; why couldn’t he just hold them in—forever?
The phone slips from his hand, and Eddie lets it, blurry eyes watching as it crashes to the floor, but he can’t hear it, can’t make out any sounds.
With one hand free, Eddie brings it up to join the other, placing the baseball bat between his legs, gripping onto it tightly. He needs something grounding, something he can feel—touch.
It’s not enough; nothing is anymore.
Words Bobby said long ago float through his head on repeat. His Captain probably forgot them days later, but not Eddie; he never forgets all the pain he causes.
‘Control. You’re the guy who always keeps it together, no matter what. You don’t have to let yourself loose everything before you can allow yourself to feel anything.’
But he did, he had. There was no Shannon, no Ana, no trust from his son, no 118, no Buck, no…no anything. He’d lost everything, including himself.
‘When did you let him down before?
When did I not let him down? I’m angry at a dead person and myself and it wasn’t enough…I wasn’t enough.’
Nothing he does is ever enough, no matter how hard he tries no matter how much he pushes himself. He just—isn’t good enough. Not for himself, and especially not for Christopher. He doesn’t deserve what he wants, who he needs.
There are other words trapped in his head, ones from his dead wife, the mother of his son.
‘There won’t be a second chance; I can’t fail him, or you.’
But she had, and so had he; they’d failed each other.
‘You’re not the only one who feels alone.’
He feels more alone than ever now. He’s pushed everyone away, including himself. All he has left are these voices in his head, the ones that are screaming at him; he just wishes he could hear them, understand what it is they want from him. He sure as hell doesn’t know.
He doesn’t hear the door open, doesn’t hear the familiar steps that pad down his hallway, stopping once they reach his room. He can’t see anything, can’t open his eyes, not even when he feels those pools of blue rushing over him.
What’re you afraid of?
It’s Christopher’s words now, the ones that haunt him the most.
‘I don’t want you to be sad.
It’s ok to be sad buddy. And we’ll be ok, because we have each other, ok?
‘You could be dead next year!’
Those words have haunted Eddie since the moment Christopher uttered them. He can’t make them go away, can’t change them; quitting the 118 had proved that.
There are no guarantees in life. If you love someone tell them.
Eddie chokes out a laugh at his own words that chill him to the core.
“Talk to me Eddie. What’s—just talk to me, please. Tell me what’s wrong.”
Right. He’s not alone. Well, he is, just not in the physical sense; not anymore.
What’s wrong? Everything; nothing feels right anymore.
His thoughts continue to threaten him, barging into his mind once more. The only words louder than his sons were that of his best friends.
‘I think it might’ve been better for him if I was the one who got shot.’
How can Buck think his life is so meaningless, that he’s incapable of being loved? The idea is completely beyond Eddie. He’s spent enough years hating himself to understand, sure, but Buck is…well, he’s everything. Everything Eddie needs, wants, desires. But Eddie isn’t enough; not for himself, and certainly not for anyone else.
Gripping the bat tighter, Eddie lets out a hiss as the pull strains his cut-up knuckles; it‘a amazing he can still feel anything at all.
“Eddie, please just-just look at me.”
And Eddie wants to, he does, but he’s so ashamed, ashamed of how he looks, who he is, and everything that he fears. Buck deserves better than him; they all do.
He can’t open his eyes, can’t bear to face him. Just the thought leaves him feeling exposed, vulnerable.
“I-I can’t.”
It was but a choked off sob, Eddie’s face flooding with tears once more.
“I know Eds, I—I’m here…”
And he always is; Buck never gives up on him, even when Eddie has given up on himself. Buck is always there, trying to help him put the pieces back together. The pieces that are broken and jagged, the ones that might never fit back together again.
I’m leaving the 118.
Eddie shivers at his own words.
When he’d said that, he hadn’t quite known the affect they’d have on him, on his teammates, Christopher…Buck.
‘You can have my back any day. Yea, yea, or you could-you could have mine.’
“I can’t-I-I don’t have your back anymore.”
Bucks voice cuts through the noise, through the silence, reaching Eddie as it always does.
“You do, even when-when you think you don’t. And I’ll always have yours, no matter what. You can’t get rid of me that easily.”
Eddie chokes out a laugh, though it only makes the tears flow more.
“Hey, hey. It’s ok Eddie. Just-just breathe for me. Please.”
As Buck slows his breathing, puffing in and out in slow motions for him, Eddie hones in on it, trying to match his to Bucks’ His lungs feel stiff, like they haven’t taken a deep breath in ages, the sharp inhale nearly cracking his insides.
“That’s it Eddie, breathe, let it all out.”
He doesn’t have anything else to give, nothing left for anyone to take.
“I need, I—"
Eddie takes a hand off the bat, his fingers peeling from it one by one, until they drop back down to his side. It’s almost harder than taking the breath, but he manages, reaching out blindly until he finds the soft material of Bucks hoodie, the one he somehow knows is his own, Diaz lining the back of it.
Buck doesn’t move, doesn’t take, just—waits, waits for Eddie to fall into his lap, another blood curdling cry slipping from him. His arms wrap around Bucks waist as he practically throws himself into his best friend’s lap, dropping the bat with a thud that he doesn’t hear, doesn’t register.
As Buck finally moves, tugging Eddie closer, Eddie nestles into him, burying his face into Buck’s familiar scent, the one that reminds him he’s home—safe. He can already breathe a little easier.
When Buck’s hands come to his head, carding gently through his hair, Eddie trembles. It’s too much, and he wants to escape, knows he doesn’t deserve it, but as Buck’s fingers dig in further, Eddie can’t help but to bury himself into Buck’s embrace, taking what he wants, what he needs.
He doesn’t know when, doesn’t know how, but the silence is gone, his endless thoughts replaced by the steady beat of Bucks’ heart, Eddie’s ear placed right over his chest.
It’s hours they sit there like this, or maybe minutes—Eddie can’t say, but when he finally, finally opens his eyes, it’s to those beautiful blues. They’re red rimmed, surrounded by a sea of water, though dazzling nonetheless.
The movement causes Buck to stir, though he doesn’t say anything, simply watches as Eddie reaches a thumb up, swiping gently below his eye, brushing away the tears there.
Eddie’s voice is but a whisper, too afraid to break the calming silence that has finally found him.
“I’m sorry I made you sad.”
There it is, that smile Eddie loves and adores so much, the one that makes Buck’s birthmark rise just so.
“If you’re sad, I’m sad. That’s just how it works.”
Eddie wants to argue, though he can’t . What’s the point? If the roles were reversed, Eddie knows he’d say the same.
Bucks’ fingers pulled through his hair, brushing over the faded sides.
“I like your hair.”
A smile slips over Eddie’s face, something he hasn’t felt for much too long. Buck makes him happy, yes.
“I like your eyes.”
Buck laughs, and it’s like music to Eddie’s ears, his favorite lullaby, the sound vibrating through him.
Eddie watches as Buck brings one of his hands up, blues scanning over it before bringing it to his mouth, his lips softly brushing over his bruised knuckles. Buck repeats the same with his other hand, Eddie tracing his every movement.
Eddie wants to lean in, wants to take that final step, to allow himself what he needs, what he wants, but he can’t—not yet.
As if reading his mind, like only Buck can do, he whispers out, “I’m not going anywhere. We have time.”
And all Eddie can do is lean further into Bucks’ touch, sighing a bit in relief as Buck picks up his previous motions, rubbing one hand through his hair, the other holding Eddie’s hand so he can press kisses along his knuckles.
“Do you wanna talk about—any of it?”
What’re you afraid of?
Everything.
“I wanna talk about everything Buck, I wanna talk about me, about Chris, Shannon, you—us. Just—all of it.”
“Whenever you’re ready Eds, I’ll be here. No matter how little, no matter how long. You’re not expendable either, you know?”
He doesn’t , but he’s going to try his damnedest to get there.

it’s the season 5b promo and eddie is talking into a headset. and sorry fandom, but he’s not at dispatch.
because the thing is. eddie’s still wearing his firefighting uniform. he’s wearing navy blue, there’s a flag patch on his right shoulder, and you can see a glimpse of his silver badge. not a maroon polo in sight. 
also if you pause somewhere around the 12 second mark you can clearly see the very tip of eddie’s finger at the bottom of the screen. and this just shouts classic eddie-with-his-arms-crossed pose. which he only ever does while standing. which means he’s not sitting surrounded by monitors. which means he’s not at dispatch. 
in fact I think it’s safe to say that eddie hasn’t left firefighting at all. in wrapped in red (911 5x10) he says, so I think I need to make a change. I’m leaving the 118. he does not say, I am leaving firefighting. 
that + his uniform in the promo = eddie’s still a firefighter. just not at the 118. and not under bobby’s command. and not as buck’s partner. 
and doesn’t that just hurt so good?

SaL anon here bestie and still feeling bitchy if you feel like indulging. So I've had a couple of issues this week and the first i'll get to came as a bit of a combination of reading @canonicallyobserving911 latest post and seeing the LS promo with Owen and Andrea (incidentally we've had like 3 trailers and a whole ass preview scene from LS this week alone, WTF is OG's promo dept doing??). I thought the parents-taking-over-the-wedding clip was funny, but made me think when was the last time we
had fun stories/episodes in 911 OG?? And I don't mean one liners or ridiculous emergencies or people making a joke out of one characters actions that actually carry pretty serious implications (glares at jokes getting made about BOTH Buck's cheating and sperm donor arc). I mean episodes that were fun because we know the characters, we know that of course this is how they'd react, and it's ridiculous but real because we all have a side of us that's ridiculous at times. Where did all the fun episodes go?? I tried to think of the last example and I guess you could count the Eddie and Chim with the cursed bracelet thing (which was almost immediately undermined by the fact Chim knowingly bought a murder house 🙄). But I can't think of the last time the show was really and truly being fun. 
Second on my things-I'm-pissed-about list is the return of Ravi. Not because I'm upset Ravi is back, I'm thrilled actually, but seriously KR?? After completely sidelining his character in 5b in favor of trying to make L a thing, after literally cutting him out of the HenRen vow renewal photo, after not even mentioning once during 6a where he was but making sure we had a whole damn scene devoted to explain L's absence, suddenly we're supposed to be excited you’re promoting him in the BTS?? I just can't be grateful that it took 1.5 seasons of negative feedback for KR to give people something they want. I hope they have no budget for effects that episode because it all went to pay Anirudh to bother with this show again after his character got so disrespected. Anyway that's my bitchy thoughts for these last few days, enjoy!!
Hello my friend! You have definitely caught me in a salty mood because my family is occasionally infuriating 🙃 I am SO with you and everyone about how LS has gotten all kinds of promos, and official stills from set released by Tim, meanwhile, OG is continuing to languish with barely anything and who knows if what we DO get from the official releases is actually something we’ll get to see.
I also agree with the lack of truly fun episodes. Cursed was trying to be Jinx but where Jinx was all about the firefam and their dynamics, and a fun montage of them doing their jobs, Cursed wasted all it’s time showing us every aspect of some random starlet’s life with barely any firefam (and while Eddie talking to Bobby and Athena was great a) that story didn’t line up with literally anything we’ve ever seen or been told about Isobel and b) it didn’t have Eddie’s continual investigative partner Buck involved). Plus, it didn’t even have a good resolution like Jinx did which gave us a brilliant scene with Eddie talking someone down and into doing the right thing. Cursed spent the whole episode setting up a “the assistant colluded with that guy to cause accidents to her boss to make her believe she was cursed” and then just...didn’t do that and instead had the assistant just skimming money and the guy having some randomly flimsy reason to come after her. But like, who cares? In Jinx we care about the guy (Brian, right?) insofar as he is directly putting the firefam and people in danger by doing things wrong while trying to “help”, eventually making a good-faith call about something that wasn’t actually what he thought it was, and then ultimately stealing the truck from the firefam when they needed to get to a fire where their help was needed. We don’t care about Brian as much as we care about how his actions affect the 118 and their ability to do their jobs. Cursed has nothing to do with the firefam except that they keep getting the calls. We get a little bit from Eddie but it’s never focused on enough to be called the central story. The central story in Jinx is the firefam. The central story in Cursed, even up to the end which SHOULD have been focused on Eddie and Chris (and fucking BUCK because the tsunami came up), is Felisa who the audience doesn’t know or care about. Yes the episode had some laughs, but just like everything in s6, is lacking heart, depth, and focus on characters we actually know and love.
Same with What’s Your Fantasy which was SO wildly all over the place in tone from cute sisters talking female empowerment-turned emergency situation, to murder fantasies, to sex fantasies overlaying a conversation about a child’s crush, to a huge, misogynistic, terrorist plan running throughout the episode. Again, a few cute surface level scenes, but mostly just filler with no consistent tone or through-line for any of the characters. Even back in season 5, FOMO had some funny moments, but again didn’t devote enough focus to main characters and instead spent too much time on some random emergency character having a whole arc, and the episode had a whole tragic ending. Honestly I can’t think if a single other “fun” episode in the whole of season 5, which people can say was the “point” but given that almost nothing got any (on screen) resolution (or any that wasn’t immediately undercut/forgotten) it doesn’t feel like there was a point. Previous seasons did so much better balancing tone throughout episodes, and being able to cut the heaver episodes by moving towards lighter arcs, and then back again. An ebb and flow across the whole season vs a whole oppressive season followed by episodes packed with wildly different stories that tonally do not fit together and leaves the viewers with whiplash. I’m still sooooo frustrated with how the sperm donor (and the cheating) storyline has been turned into a big joke. Especially because we KNOW the potential that was there for a meaty, and emotional storyline and Oliver has consistently delivered GOLD on that kind of stuff. And instead we got masturbation jokes, and jokes about being accosted at work and literally every other mishandled aspect of the arc. 😤😤😤😤
As for your second thing, I’m right there with you in regards to Ravi. Like, they couldn’t be bothered to let Bobby or Buck or literally anyone drop a single line about how their probie had grown and was lent out to the academy for a few months?! Especially after the audience was begging for more of him and irritated that he got sidelined and lost out on screentime and storylines so KR could force L into every little thing. The show KNEW going in to s6 how the fans and the general audience felt about L, and about Ravi, and it definitely feels vindictive and petty on KR’s part to allow no mention of him, even after every single episode had the audience asking where he was, BEGGING for any line about what happened to him, and saying how weird it was that he disappeared without anyone saying anything. For the only mention of him to come not even in the show itself but in an interview after the whole first half of the season was over is such a slap in the face. I hope Anirudh got every single thing he wanted out of coming back (I also hope someone had to grovel at least a little bit) and I hope that the very loud chorus of “FINALLY” from the audience when he’s back will stick in KR’s craw because of how universally beloved he is compared to every other random recurring and one-off episode character she’s tried to force into focus so she didn’t have to actually deal with the main characters of the show. My only worry is that she’ll try to do something to his character out of spite because I absolutely wouldn’t put it past her. For now I’m going to hold on to the joy at Ravi/Anirudh coming back, and excitement at seeing what he’s up to.
Thanks for giving me somewhere to focus my other frustrations today! And in a few days we’ll have some Yehaw wee-woos to flail about. And since we still have some time before our OG team comes back, I’m always here to dig into the salt mine!

518 Promo: Starting Over

We hear Buck saying, “this last year” as the camera zooms into the centre of the Fox logo, showing the ladder truck pulling up to the dispatch centre in 516, smoke coming out of the building’s windows. We see Buck in a hoodie, bringing a hand down from his head and turning to talk to someone with his eyebrows arched, saying, “with everything that happened.” We see another shot from 516 of Bobby flinching with his entire body, briefly crouching as a window from the dispatch centre explodes, a fireball rolling out. Another shot where Bobby turns his head to the side with a panicked expression, eyes wide in fear. We see May and Bobby running through the dispatch centre during 516, as the glass windows explode behind them as Bobby has his arm around May. We hear Bobby say, “I'm gonna get you out of there” as we see them running, Bobby looking up and behind him. We see the ceiling begin to collapse, then cut to black.
We hear Buck say, “it feels like” as we hear a faint ringing sound and Lucy lifts up the Captain’s helmet from the rubble. We hear Buck continue, “maybe he spent so much time” as the camera flicks rapidly between that scene from 516 and Bobby looking ahead, lips pressed together and eyes slightly wide. The voiceover continues “worrying about us” as Bobby’s hand closed tightly around a glass, shattering it. His hand continues to flex. Bobby looks ahead blankly. We see Buck lean backwards as he says, “maybe we didn't spend enough time worrying about him” whilst pinning something to a wall, his eyes flitting around a little.
Red text on the screen reads “Next Monday 8/7c” and the voiceover says, “Next Monday” as the ladder truck and ambulance pull up to a cliff side. We hear Chim say, “you ridin’ the ropes, Cap?” as we see Lucy and Bobby standing next to each other, both looking down at themselves as they secure their harnesses. Bobby looks serious and Lucy looks determined. We see Chim with his sunglasses on, looking at Bobby with his eyebrows raised in surprise as we hear Bobby say, “did I stutter?” Chim and Buck turn to each other, Chim making a surprised frown with his lips pressed together and eyebrows further raised. Bobby is turned towards Lucy, looking downwards as he says, “alright, let's go.”
The voiceover says, “the epic 9-1-1 season finale” as text on the screen reads “The 911 season finale” and we see two people, presumably Lucy and Bobby, being lowered down the side of a cliff. Buck stands on the truck, looking downwards in alarm as he grabs the rail and says “what was that?” We see Buck and Hen standing by the ambulance in the background as two people run across screen and we see the bottom of the truck as it starts to tilt. Hen starts to say, “the cliff is coming down” and then we see her, wearing sunglasses and looking concerned as she continues “and it's taking the ladder with it.” Lucy and Bobby rappel down the side of the grassy cliff side, both looking downward with one hand on their rope. We see the ladder truck tip forwards off the side of the cliff. We hear Hen say, “Cap?” as the truck falls. We hear Hen shout, “Ladder is down ” as we see Bobby and Lucy looking upwards from where they stand on the cliff floor, next to a man that’s lying on his back. Lucy is grimacing and Bobby startles, taking a step back. We see the truck sliding and tumbling down the cliff face. The camera flickers and then cuts to the 9-1-1 title screen, with the 9-1-1 logo on a flickering cityscape background. The voiceover says, “9-1-1 all new, next Monday, on Fox” and there’s additional text that reads “All new Next Monday 8/7c”.

New 5x15 Promo
Camera zooms into the centre of the Fox logo, showing Bobby hopping out of the front passenger seat of the truck. Bobby’s voice over says, “The whole area used to be a missile base. Alright, I’m Bobby.” Buck walks behind Lucy, both looking serious. Hen squints and frowns, mouth open with her top lip slightly curled, her eyes moving to the side.
Bobby walks forward as he says, “what happened here?” frowning in concern as he starts to kneel down.
We hear a child’s voice saying “We were just playing and …” as we see a black woman and a couple of kids within a circular stone structure, with the woman standing on some steps at the side. The children run around the dirt in the middle. In the dialogue pause, we see the woman standing on the dirt, before a circle opens up around her feet and she falls into the earth. The voice continues, “the ground moved and she just disappeared,” showing that it’s the eldest of the girls talking, standing beside two younger girls. Hen stands against a backdrop of trees, frowning towards the ground. A very low down shot looks directly upwards at the sky, and Buck slides into frame, looking down towards the camera with a frown.
Overhead shot of a bride walking down the aisle. Text on screen reads “Tonight 8/7c”, popping up onto screen in time with the drum beat
We hear May's voice saying “You ever think about what life would be like if you made different choices?”, as we see the bride standing, smiling widely as she faces the groom. The bride is light-skinned with warm undertones, wearing a veil behind her head, with a flowery headband, and holding a bouquet of pink flowers. The groom has dark brown skin with warm undertones, and is wearing a dark blue suit and a bowtie. His eyes roll up into his head and he falls sideways, going face first into a table with a vase of flowers on it before bouncing off it and falling onto his back.
The bride leans forwards and screams. There's an overhead shot of a police car, an ambulance and a firetruck driving down a residental street, with large houses on each side.
As May says, "some people," we see the groom lying on his back, his jacket removed and under his head. Bobby kneels at his feet, and Hen starts to crouch down by his head, as the bride stands behind her, looking around.
Close up of May, in what looks like her blue dispatcher polo, as she shakes her head and continues, "worry about getting the full experience"
We see a close up of Athena, beside a fridge with loads of sticky notes on it. She turns towards May with a slightly nervous smile on her face. The smile briefly lessens before it returns, closed-mouth and a little more genuine.A white woman with long red curly hair, wearing a flowy gauzy robe and white chunky heels, holds a phone in front of her, She says, “My personal sauna,” as she holds the robe at her waist and steps up onto the sauna bench. From the side, we see her looking towards her phone as she enunciates, “So fire y’all!” ending her sentence by tilting her head down and smiling widely. There is steam swirling up behind her phone. She screams as she falls backwards, the screen flashing rapidly.
Bobby pulls open a door, looking worried, Lucy behind him in a helmet. We hear him say “Let’s pull that door off” as we see the woman from before lying on her back with her eyes closed, face turned to the side and resting on black volcanic rocks with steam coming off them.
The camera pans up from the sparks of a saw to Lucy.  Buck holds a door in his hands, says “roasting flesh”, then grimaces and moves the door to the side. Close up of the woman with the rock on her face, the skin above it looking burnt and red.
Chim and Hen stand next to each other, looking down, presumably towards her. Chim says, “A whole new meaning to saving face,” turning towards Hen with raised eyebrows. Close up of Bobby, his eyebrows shooting up.

there are parts of this that just give me season 1 vibes. buck being emotionally tied to the person at dispatch. chim coming back after being away. potentially losing someone on a call. i know i’m probably missing a lot of things but the parallels to early s1 are just *chef’s kiss*
