y’all i think the reason buck didn’t go with chris to find eddie is bc he knew what he’d see when they found him. he knew eddie would be this broken, empty shell of a man and he wouldn’t have left. he knew he would’ve needed to stay and fix him and since he knew he couldn’t stay, he couldn’t go find eddie. he couldn’t see eddie like that bc then he wouldn’t have been able to make himself go back to his life, to the life where everything is already fixed

Just noticed the smallest look of awe and happiness on Buck’s face when his mom says “your kids” before she says students and I’m gone😭 Oliver is so good with the subtle stuff and letting it all show and you can see how for a brief second, Buck is genuinely so happy and amazed that he has kids

Buck's Coma Dream Thoughts

Yes, it does feel like there have been SO many episodes that prove to Buck that he has a family, that he is loved, that he is worth it. This is one of the things I love the most about 911; to me, it feels real (at least in this aspect, the calls, not so much). As someone who struggles with self worth, I KNOW what Buck is going through. One time, does not fix a life time of feeling like you are not enough. Of course he doubts it and needs to be reminded again and again. He has been reminded by all the people who love him, and this episode (while I totally get the disappointment of basically zero Buddie), was not about Eddie or for that matter Chris reminding him that he is loved. It was about Buck finally reminding himself that it is okay to accept that love and it is okay for him to love himself. I've just been thinking about this a lot since the episode, so there you go 🫀🫀🫀

Did anyone else hear the faintest hints of a variation on Coldplay's "Fix You" playing underneath Chris's scene while he talks to Buck? If they actually connected that scene musically to Buck's run to get home, I'm going to get very emotional.

My Two Predictions for Next Week's 911 Episode

Buck never saved Chris from the tsunami, and died. Eddie quit the 118 and went back to the Army. Or moved back to Texas. Point is he never recovered from losing his son.

Buck never found Carla for them, so Eddie succumbed to the pressure of his parents and let them take him back to Texas.

Beer- Could be a rehab thing. Maybe drinks with Maddie?

Joker- Set up for the poker storyline later? Is someone a stand-up comedian in the coma world?

Man and child- Dad and son. Bobby and Buck. Eddie and Chris. Depending on the episode, they could be saying Buck and Chris (but if so would likely play it off non-romantic towards Eddie knowing the showrunner)

Couch- couch. So he can recover at the loft, the 118 or Eddie buys him a couch. No, I don’t want him recovering there, but it’s not up to me. Or Buck buys himself a couch because he’s seen the secret to happiness.

I’m so bad at these. Show me a 2 second clip and I can tell you the next 45 minutes down to the beat, but emojis make my head spin.
