[27/365] - [31/365] H(air)eadcanons
[27/365] One time when Todoroki helped Kirishima dye his roots he wondered how he’d look with completely white hair. It’s something he thought about a lot when he was a child. He’s not trying to deny his father’s blood running through him anymore, but the curiosity didn’t die and he can’t stop the provocation completely. So they used the remaining bleach on Todoroki’s hair, but he ended up being rather half blond half white. They tried to have Eri revert the mistake, but ofc Aizawa didn’t allow it, so Todoroki just let it grow out.
[28/365] Out of solidarity Kiri didn’t dye his roots for as long as it took for Todoroki to look normal again which actually wasn’t as long as he had expected because Todoroki still felt adventurous (it couldn’t really become worse could it?) and decided to cut his hair short. Or rather shorter. He didn’t cut off much more than an inch. But he missed that inch a lot and couldn’t stop pulling at his shorter bangs or rubbing the back of his head. So he swore no more experiments with his hair.
[29/365] At first Kirishima feels a bit insecure about letting his roots show because he worked hard on that Red Riot persona and it means revealing his secret to the whole class (even though some had already figured) until Todoroki casually mentions that it looks really cool and everyone else is really supportive too. In the future it becomes his signature look as a pro hero because he learned to embrace his past and himself with all his flaws. Plus Shoto was right, it really does look cool.
[30/365] Shoto develops a minor obsession with Eijiro’s black roots and gets excited when the hair in his nape darkens. He will start nuzzling Kiri’s neck more often, brushing his nose through the hair and inhales deeply, loving the mix of Kiri’s natural scent and his shampoo.
[31/365] Despite what he swore, Shoto ended up getting an undercut years later when Deku and Bakugo did so too because of the odd bond they share and he thought to keep up with them he gotta get the same haircut. The short shaved hair immediately becomes Eijiro’s new favorite spot to pet and stroke and he loves how pliant and relaxed Shoto becomes under his touch. When Shoto’s alone, he catches himself stroking his own neck to calm down and lull himself to sleep, imagining it was Eijiro caressing him.

[36/365] - [44/365] Cooking
[36/365] Kiri and Shoto are both horrible cooks, so once they move together they live on a lot of take-out food. Sure, it's expensive, but as sidekicks they are being paid quite fine. [37/365] They also often invite themselves over to Bakugo to scrounge leftovers from him. But it works only so many times. So Bakugo makes it his mission to teach them some basic cooking. If even Uraraka learned how to cook from him and stop living off of instant meals, so can Kirishima and Todoroki. Okay, maybe Todoroki is a hopeless case. He still can’t chop chives properly. Bakugo can’t tell if he does it on purpose to get under his skin or if he really is that dense. So Shoto gets set on doing the dishes after cooking. Bakugo also suggests that Kirishima should ask Fuyumi about teaching him some recipes.
[38/365] Eijiro actually manages to keep it a secret from Shoto that he’s getting cooking lessons from his sister whenever their shifts don’t align and he can meet up with Fuyumi when Shoto is on patrol, until one day he surprises his boyfriend with home-made soba for dinner. At first Shoto thinks Eijiro just ordered take-out, but the soba tastes so familiar and when he looks up, Eijiro is grinning widely, so Shoto just connects the dots. He keeps wondering what he did to deserve a perfect boyfriend like Eijiro. [39/365] Also once Eijiro feels confident in cooking basic meals, he loves talking Shoto into helping him. It doesn’t matter that the veggies aren’t cut into perfect little cubes and stripes as long as it tastes good. Cooking together is also a perfect excuse to snuggle up from behind and take Shoto’s hands into his own and guide him through cutting veggies. Eijiro is always being rewarded with Shoto’s little signature smile who starts enjoying cooking more and more and is happy that they overcame this hurdle together. They both feel that they made an important step in strengthening their relationship and getting the hang of living together.
[40/365] They also discover Shoto’s hidden talent for cutting onions. Eijiro is always bawling his eyes out while Shoto doesn’t even seem to blink. Eijiro suspects that Shoto is just cheating and freezing his tears or something.
[41/365] However the ultimate test is inviting Bakugo over for dinner to show their gratitude to him for teaching them how to cook. Ofc the food isn’t spicy enough for his taste, but it’s actually alright and he’s proud of these two idiots (they had the best teacher after all!)
[42/365] Many, many years later it becomes a tradition to have dinner dates with friends as kind of a class reunion even though not everyone is always able to attend. One couple or (un)happy single invites the others over for dinner. Shoto and Eijiro would have never thought that they would enjoy being hosts as much as they do now. The nostalgia of cooking and eating together at training camps during their years at U.A. is only adding to the fun of it.
[43/365] Thanks to Eijiro’s cooking, Shoto learned that he can have more favorite dishes aside from cold soba and his slightly disturbing soba consumption went down quite a bit. But maybe he is just biased because Eijiro makes everything better.
[44/365] In their established relationship Shoto is still the one who does the dishes while Eijiro takes over the cooking most of the time. He can’t help it, but indulge his boyfriend (and husband later on) by making him breakfast in bed.

[13/365] - [22/365] Dates
[13/365] After they started dating, Kirishima struggles with how to update Todoroki’s contact info. He switches from ‘my boyfriend’ to ‘bae’, to ‘snowflake’ and at some point even ‘Shoba’ before he gives up and settles for just Shoto until he can think of something better, more satisfying. Todoroki on the other hand just changes the name from Kirishima to Eijiro and calls it a day. That's his boyfriend's name after all.
[14/365] On their first date Kirishima takes Todoroki to the amusement park. After he heard that Todoroki never has been there, he made a mental note to give him the full experience and not when they are there to work. Todoroki should be able to enjoy it to his heart's content.
[15/365] The amusement park becomes their place to go on their anniversary. A day is barely enough to see and ride all the attractions, so Kirishima promises Todoroki to take him there again. And again and again, even when they're in their 40s or 50s or 60s...
[16/365] Watching Todoroki having cotton candy for the first time in his life is one of Kirishima’s most cherished moments because he hasn’t seen Todoroki’s face going through so many emotions in the span of seconds before. Plus he got to kiss sticky sugar off of Shoto's cheek.
[17/365] On the same date Shoto said ‘I love you’ for the first time, putting his sheer happiness into words. It was on the ferris wheel, the last attraction they rode. The sun had already set and the sky was painted in pretty shades of pink and purple. Kiri shed a little tear.
[18/365] On their second date Todoroki takes Kirishima to his favorite cat cafe. He’s never been bothered by going there alone while he was surrounded by couples, but now it only feels natural to bring his boyfriend with him and introduce him to his favorite cat.
[19/365] Todoroki missed out on a lot in his childhood due to the harsh training he had to go through instead of doing fun things. Kirishima made it his mission to help him catch up, so for a while they don’t run out of date ideas. Going to the aquarium, karaoke, hanabi and hanami festivals, hiking trips (a suggestion made by Bakugo), roller skating, bowling, theme cafes, a day at the beach etc.
[20/365] With Todoroki's interests in mind Kirishima also suggests going to Comiket, so that he can check out indie artists. Sure, it’s loud and there are way too many people, but Kirishima will hold his hand all the time to calm him down and so that he doesn’t get lost in the crowd. At the end of the day Todoroki still enjoyed it and goes home with over 20 doujinshis. He was also really amazed by the cosplayers and tells Kiri that it’s something he has always wanted to try as a child because he could be someone else if only for a while.
[21/365] Of course Kiri is going to make this wish happen as well. Once Todoroki made his choice, a side character from his favorite fantasy shounen manga, while Kirishima decided to cosplay his idol Crimson Riot (to support Shoto and hey, fun couple activity!), they get to work. Todoroki brings the money to the table, but not exactly knowing where to start, they ask their classmates for help. Deku is aiding with the sewing. Aoyama and Tokoyami are surprisingly good costume designers with a hand for special effects even though they both tend to overdo it (sitting on opposite ends of the spectrum). Mina is responsible for hair and make-up, but Ochako and Hagakure join them because they don’t want to miss out on the fun of dolling Todoroki up. They all agree to the unspoken rule that they won’t cover Todoroki’s scar up.
[22/365] Kirishima has a lot of patience and rarely gets angry (as long as we don’t talk about villains hurting people, especially his friends and family), but many years later when they are pro heroes, Eiijiro gets absolutely furious when Shoto’s scar gets retouched for a big beauty ad and his “flawless” face is shown on big screens and posters all over the cities and the headlines in gossip mags read 'this his how pro hero Shoto looks without his infamous scar'. Eijiro's outburst in which he tears the campaign apart is broadcasted on national TV.

[45/365] + [46/365] Valentine’s Day
[45/365] To no one's surprise Todoroki receives a lot of chocolates on Valentine's day and is quite overwhelmed by it. How is he supposed to keep track of all the people who gave him gifts to repay their kindness (with his father’s credit card)? Plus he has a boyfriend, why would he buy gifts for anyone other than him? Kirishima is sitting in the same boat though as he got a few gifts too. But they’ve got a whole month to think about a solution and until then they can just eat a ton of chocolate together.
[46/365] Todoroki actually considers buying like five kilograms worth of chocolate next year to pile it up on Kirishima’s desk (and maybe on his own too) to deter all the other contenders. However in the following year neither of them receives any gifts. Todoroki’s White Day cards from last year were effective enough. He had ended them all with informing the people of his boyfriend Kirishima who is giving him enough gifts and receiving Shoto’s in return.

[63/365] - [72/365] Sickness
[63/365] The first time Todoroki falls sick, Kirishima is a little overwhelmed and has to stop himself from overreacting because he didn’t think it’s possible for Todoroki to catch a cold since he can regulate his body temperature so well, so this must be serious. He gets Todoroki a ton of blankets, pillows, tea and soup and keeps asking him every five minutes if he needs something else, making sure he’s as comfy as possible.
[64/365] While thinking Kiri is trying too hard, Todoroki doesn’t mind the intense care. In fact he highly enjoys being spoiled without explicitly having to ask for it. Kirishima just brushes Todoroki’s bangs out of his face to dab the sweat from his forehead with a cold, wet cloth. But Todoroki’s favorite by far is when Kirishima gets the menthol balm or eucalyptus oil to rub it over his chest, warm hands moving in circles until they come to rest over Todoroki’s hammering heart.
[65/365] Kirishima is finally able to calm down when Todoroki falls asleep, his even breathing and the exhaustion from worrying so much lull him into sleep too until he’s being woken up by Todoroki sneezing in his sleep, the snot coming out as an icy bubble from his nose, waking Todoroki too when it bursts. Kirishima is laughing because Todoroki’s quirk amazes him even in the silliest way when he hands him a tissue to remove the icicle hanging from the tip of his nose.
[66/365] To no one’s surprise Kirishima catches the cold just a few days later after spending so much time with Todoroki. Naturally Todoroki takes over the role of the caring boyfriend now that he’s doing much better. His quirk comes in handy because Kirishima can just switch from staying at Todoroki’s left side to the right depending on whether he is freezing or feels feverish.
[67/365] One of the hardest things for both of them is to accept when the other gets hurt during a mission, especially once they are pro heroes even though they know what they were getting into when they chose this path and share the same risk. They know they can’t blame the other for something that could happen to themselves just the next day. The selfish wish to keep the other safe and sound never fades away completely though, no matter how much trust they have in the other’s power and skills.
[68/365] The first time Eijiro gets seriously injured on a joint mission, Shoto snaps, losing control of his quirk. It grows stronger from the uncontrollable hurt and anger that overwhelms him in that moment, just like it happened to his brother. It’s the first time his flames turned blue.
[69/365] While Shoto reacts with an outburst of emotions when his boyfriend gets hurt, Eijiro drowns in guilt because he blames himself for not being able to protect Shoto even though he knows they are working independently and that he’s not Shoto’s personal bodyguard (or vice versa). He hates that despite being a pro hero now, he feels as helpless as back in the Wild Wild Pussycat training camp when he was unable to save Katsuki and the others when the League of Villains attacked them.
[70/365] But battle scars aren’t all that bad. First they can reminisce in heroic memories or silly moments, like tripping while getting out of your hero costume (hey, it happens to the best!) and second they have an easy excuse to worship the other’s body. Eijiro thinks it’s unfair how Shoto keeps getting prettier and manlier, but Shoto just retorts that the same applies to Eijiro. However their favorite scars are the matching ones that they got from fighting an S-rank villain together whose claws were even able to break through Kiri’s hardening.
[71/365] Eijiro is definitely the one who tries to go to work despite being sick (once Shoto actually froze him to the bed and keeps threatening to do it again), so it’s usually Shoto who calls the agency and reports him sick. Fatgum is already used to it but still amused every time.
[72/365] Eijiro falling sick put Shoto’s meager cooking skills to the test because he usually never prepares a bigger meal without Eijiro’s help. (Actually it’s Shoto helping Eijiro in most cases.) The first time he had Fuyumi on facetime while spinning around in the kitchen to make chicken soup for his sick boyfriend.

[56/365] - [62/365] With friends
[56/365] Once Todoroki and Kirishima started dating their respective squad of friends began to mingle as well. (The whole class grew closer after everything they went through.) Kirishima and Deku already bonded during and after the Shie Hassaikai raid, while Todoroki and Sero hung out as dorm neighbors and fellow manga enthusiasts before. But now you can also see Kiri spar with Ochako, so that she can practice what she learned at her internship with Gunhead while Mina studies with Todoroki who has a lot more patience as a tutor than Bakugo.
[57/365] Mina was the first one to pick up on Kirishima’s feelings for Todoroki. While being aromatic herself, she’s very attentive and often recognizes when one of her classmates has a crush on somebody even before they realize it themself. Kirishima trusted her despite knowing how nosy she can be because he knew she could keep quiet about his secrets. However she made it her mission to be Kirishima’s wingman because she was sure that wooing oblivious Todoroki would be a challenge.
[58/365] Meanwhile Midoriya was Todoroki’s confidant. He helped Todoroki analyze these new and unknown feelings for Kirishima, identifying them really fast as being romantic. Unlike Mina, Midoriya didn’t have a whole arsenal of plans to win Kirishima’s heart. Considering that he didn’t confess to his crush yet, he felt that he had no right to give Todoroki any smart advice, so he just told him to be honest about his feelings.
[59/365] But of course Todoroki took Midoriya’s advice a little too literal (like so many things), so he confessed right at the next best opportunity. Kirishima actually just wanted to know how he’s feeling and Todoroki replied that he’s in love with him. While the feelings were definitely mutual, it caught Kiri off guard, so his answer didn’t come immediately and Todoroki ended up thinking he did the whole confession thing wrong until Kirishima sat down with him to talk in private and said he wants to date Todoroki.
[60/365] Once the news spreads, everyone is supportive and happy for the new couple in the class even though Mina and Hagakure say it’s a big loss for the girls to which Todoroki points out that they’ve got Momo even though Jiro monopolizes her.
[61/365] Bakugo definitely pretends to be suffering the most like please don’t tell me you’re gonna bring Icyhot to hang out with us all the time now, he already thinks we’re besties after attending extra classes together. Plus his room is right next to Kiri’s and below Todoroki’s, so he’s got to witness whatever lovey-dovey shit they do. However if it’s just him and Kirishima he asks if Kiri is happy because if not, he’s going to kill that half and half bastard.
[62/365] When Kiri tells Todoroki about it, Todoroki just says he would accept his fate because it seems like an appropriate punishment for hurting Kirishima(‘s feelings).

[47/365] - [55/365] Love Language
[47/365] While Kirishima is a master of all forms of love language, his favorite by far is complimenting Todoroki and verbalizing his love for him (closely followed by physical affection). Kirishima’s compliments always hit Todoroki by surprise because he’s so unaware of how positively other people perceive him, so he’s often left speechless and baffled like ‘I am all of this?’. Even though he has never held a grudge against his mother, her “your left side is unsightly” left an impact on him.
[48/365] Todoroki uses words of affirmation mostly subconsciously and they often happen without much thought put into it due to Todoroki’s blunt nature. He just speaks whatever is on his mind right now, but doing so with intent is more difficult to him. Todoroki always struggles to put his emotions into words, so in the beginning of their relationship he often just copies Kirishima’s compliments. When Kiri says he loves his eyes, Todoroki says that Kirishima’s eyes are pretty too. Kirishima finds it quite endearing. It’s not his job as his boyfriend to change Todoroki (not that he wants to), but to love him the way he is and Kirishima believes that together they will be able to grow and become the persons they want to be.
[49/365] Shoto is rather prone to use physical touch to show his affection. Reaching out to hold Eijiro’s hand no matter when and where they are just comes naturally to him. He also loves kisses to say thank you or just to randomly appreciate Eijiro’s presence. They can be sitting on the couch, watching a show and Eijiro laughs at a joke and his bright, wide smile just makes Shoto wanna kiss him, starting at the corner of his mouth. The spontaneous affection always makes Eijiro smile for an entire different reason. But they both love to give and receive and their personalities reflect in how they go about it. Eijiro is all about big gestures like giving full body hugs and lifting Shoto off the ground. His warm bear hugs never fail to make Shoto melt into him as if their bodies were made to fit together. Shoto’s touch is more subtle, but always meaningful. If Eijiro is upset (may be anger or sadness), a warm, firm hand on his shoulder is enough to calm him down and ground him. Shoto always struggles to find the right words to comfort Eijiro because he thinks certain phrases just sound shallow and insincere, so he lets him know that he’s there for him through physical touches.
[50/365] Shoto’s personality makes him a good listener. So his act of service is often to lend Eijiro an ear and let him vent while he listens patiently. He keeps seeing things rationally when Eijiro is being emotional.
[51/365] Eijiro is a classic gentleman, holding doors open or carrying heavy things even though he knows that Shoto is perfectly capable of carrying three big grocery bags by himself, but Eijiro says he has already carried enough burdens in his life. Shoto points out that Eijiro is shouldering a lot as a human shield in his hero work as well, but still indulges him by letting him act chivalrous because he knows it makes Eijiro happy since it’s a trait he values highly and Eijiro’s happiness makes Shoto happy too. [52/365] Shoto is the one who brings trinkets back home because random small things remind him of Eijiro like ‘I saw kids on the vending machines today and one had these cute little red dragon keychains that look like you, so I got you one’. Eijiro proudly puts all these little gifts on display, telling his friends ‘look what my boyfriend got me the other day!’, so after a while his room, and later their apartment, looks a little cluttered with all the items that don’t really fit together.
[53/365] Eijiro is pretty much the type to make visual connections too, but he’s more likely to buy short-term stuff like food (strawberry cheesecake) or a bouquet of two-colored (red and white) tulips.
[54/365] It’s also really important to Eijiro to make sure that Shoto gets his quality time when it’s just the two of them. Especially after big events like birthday parties or hero galas he makes sure that they get to sleep in and spend lots of time cuddling and kissing (and more if they feel like it) before actually getting up. Unless they have work the morning after, then the cuddling has to wait until evening.
[55/365] Shoto knows that quality time for Eijiro doesn’t only mean alone time with his partner, but also seeing his friends. So he doesn’t mind when Eijiro spends time with the squad while he stays at home alone or meets up with Midoriya and Iida.

Romantic/sexual orientation, experience & PDA
[1/365] Kirishima had already figured out in middle school that he's gay, gained his first experiences (with his former best friend Tomo) and is pretty confident about it. He won't deny that he's into boys if it happens to become a topic during a conversation with friends.
[2/365] The only thing about Todoroki that’s not split in half is his attraction. Girls leave him indifferent; he rather feels drawn to boys. But feelings are difficult for him as he has repressed them since childhood and only experienced the negative side of the spectrum for the longest time like hate and anger. He didn't get the fuss about romance & sex (he wasn’t even sure if he likes /people/). But once he allowed friendships to bloom he started getting susceptible for other feelings too. Distinguishing between love and admiration took him a while tho.
[3/365] Todoroki’s subdued attraction might not only be a result of his childhood trauma. He might as well be demi. [Both headcanons are good.]
[4/365] Todoroki had a hard time putting a name on his feelings when he started to get aware of his crush. Butterflies in his stomach were suspected food poisoning and when Kirishima complimented his strength after combat training he googled if he had developed a heart condition.
[5/365] Todoroki has to relearn accepting love and affection. However he didn’t realize how touch-starved he was until Kirishima held his face for the first time and gently let his fingers wander over Todoroki’s scar.
[6/365] Holding hands was the first hurdle todokiri had to take. Todoroki was afraid of hurting his bf. Kiri was only half-serious when he said his quirk would protect him from the Hand Crusher Curse™ but ofc Todoroki took it literally and just like this Kiri had taken his fear.
[7/365] Kiri prides himself in already having experience with crushes and relationships and can't wait to show Todoroki how it's done. Yet his confidence falters in the front of Todoroki and his everlasting pokerface who doesn’t feel insecure about his lack of experience at all. Todoroki trusts Kirishima and knows he would never make fun of him. He's really excited about all the first times he's going to experience with Eijiro.
[8/365] nsfw-ish While Todoroki doesn’t mind being inexperienced, he still tries his best to be a good boyfriend. Unfortunately he reads how to wikis and stupid gossip magazines to educate himself. So after their third date he pulls out the condoms from his pocket like “so it's our third date, I know we gonna have sex and I came prepared” when he and Kirishima haven’t even kissed yet and Kiri didn’t even think that far ahead.
[9/365] Kirishima is really big on showing and giving affection to people, but in the beginning he's sensitive and keeps PDA to a minimum as he knows that Todoroki can get easily overwhelmed and they are already the center of attention once the class knows that they are dating.
[10/365] To Kirishima’s surprise Todoroki is more than ok with PDA. Actually he often is the one to initiate it. Eijiro is his bf, surely he's going to hold hands and give him little kisses during breaks between classes when he feels like it. Stop looking! It’s nothing special...

[32/365] - [35/365] Sparring & Compatibility
[32/365] Todoroki and Kirishima realize that their quirks are compatible in more than just one way (holding hands without Shoto having to fear crushing them). So they get really excited about coming up with combo moves and trying them out in class.
[33/365] Kirishima is also the perfect sparring partner for Todoroki to improve his close combat skills. It’s even more fun now that they are boyfriends because sometimes Todoroki tries to cheat, like kissing Kiri in the middle of an arm wrestling match (and still losing).
[34/365] One of their favorite training sessions definitely was rescue training when the class was divided into heroes and civilians and Kirishima got to carry Todoroki (bridal style) into safety much to the whole class' entertainment as well. Todoroki didn’t let go even when they reached the safe zone, saying that Red Riot has to learn how to deal with clingy fans and suitors too.
[35/365] Once they start going pro and working as sidekicks on a daily basis, experiencing the huge workload and physical stress it puts on their bodies, they realize that their quirks can do more than just being a brutal force, for example a cool hand put to a swollen ankle. Eijiro’s quirk makes him prone to muscle tension and Shoto gladly helps to relieve the pain, warming up his left hand to knead through all the sore spots in Kirishima’s body. Meanwhile Eijiro is like Shoto’s personal fascia roll.

[11/365] + [12/365] Birthday Celebration
[11/365] The class loves to throw big parties in the dorms whenever it’s someone’s birthday. Knowing that Todoroki doesn’t like being the center of attention and loud parties, Kirishima decides to ask their classmates to tone it down a little for him. He gets Midoriya and Iida in on the plan first. They are Todoroki’s closest friends and having the class president on his side surely will help to convince the rest. In the afternoon the class surprises Todoroki with a book club kinda party in the common room. Sato baked Strawberry Cheesecake for the special occasion, Momo brewed one of her exclusive teas, everyone else brought pillows and blankets, their favorite mangas and for those who didn’t take any with them into the dorms, Todoroki brought some of his own mangas to share and borrow. In small groups they come to ask Todoroki about his favorites and to talk about plots, current arcs, favorite characters and ofc to congratulate him on the side. The later into the evening the quieter it gets in the room as everyone is reading. Todoroki and Kirishima sit side by side on the floor leaned against the couch, sharing a blanket and Todoroki puts his head on Kiri’s shoulder, quietly whispering ‘thank you’. Kirishima pulls him closer and kisses the crown of his head, wishing him a happy birthday.
[12/365] Years later, Shoto still prefers to celebrate small. The best gift Eijiro gives him is time. Days off are rare for pro heroes and time off on your birthday is not a given. So Eijiro always talks to the other sidekicks at the agency Shoto works at to ask them to switch shifts, so that Sho can stay at home. He will sleep in, meet with his mother and siblings for breakfast, have lunch alone at his favorite soba restaurant and in the evening his fiancé brings take out home. Stuffed and happy Shoto snuggles into Kiri's strong big arms on the couch.
