We didn't think things would escalate to such a terrifying result!!!!!!!!

At first, we approached this episode with a very causual attitude. Who'd thought things would end up like this...

You could call it a tennis incident. The Zenkaiger Tennis Incident.

It started when we were stuck on deciding what kind of World should come next.

"What should we do about the next World?"

"The episode is going to air in September, that's autumn."

"If we're talking about autumn, there's the saying 'autumn of sports'. By the way, our dark prince a.k.a. Sekoguchi-kun¹ apparently used to be in the tennis club, and has stated that he'd like to play tennis."

"That's it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Yup. Completely serious progression.

Tennis is the sport of gents and ladies, perfectly suited for the ever elegant Zenkaiger.

As long as we have enough rackets and won't need to use frying pans to mimic playing tennis, then this should be a very serious sports episode!!

We definitely didn't barge down this path only because we have a Ten*myu² actor as a regular and want to make a tennis episode!

Tennis without pointless plays. Nn... ahh... ecstac-³

From the start, we decided to make a tennis episode because Sekoguchi Ryou said he could play tennis.

Let's see what our dark prince is capable of!! And thus it was decided that the final sweet action would be Stacey's to claim.

However, there was no way that our cast members who have been thoroughly infected by Zenkai would just sit there and watch!

This was our biggest overlook.

Our script was already chaotic to start with! Then there are also Komagine⁴ and Mashiko⁵, determined to leave their giant clawmarks all over this show. Thanks to them, things started to spiral out of control.

But above that, Kiita-kun also started using his tennis outfit.

It was very memorable, how with each passing scene, he lifted his shorts higher and higher to better show off his legs. You really didn't have to go this close to the edge......

Leaving the man trying to make his shorts even shorter aside, on the other hand, we have aniki on his own looking troubled about something.

This was on the day we held a tennis tournament by that familiar rock quarry.

There stood Mashiko, deep in thought, a rather solemn expression on his face.

We were worried that he might've run into some kind of big trouble, so we reached out to him about it, and then...

"Your face looks so intense! Did something happen? Is everything alright?"

"Oh! I'm alright! I was just thinking about what kind of reference I should sneak in in a moment."

Hey, what kind of worry is that?

It's not like you have to make some kind of reference!!

Regardless, ponytail Stacey... it should be illegal.

There's no choice but to nod along to Cutanner-Suzuki's⁶ improv line "His hair looks good like that".

Sekoguchi-kun, who said that he wanted to play tennis, carried on with filming with near zero mistakes! Exceptional!

well this one is better! making the lans in a modern AU environmentally conscious, which I've seen often, is a good move. lwj being a pediatrician suits him in a lot of ways. and in a world where they get regular haircuts, I can easily imagine him doing it himself rather than going to a barber

also lxc and nmj are married but jgy is also around and really into lxc so there's the potential for some drama there...I never saw him as creepy towards lxc like he was creepy with qs though.

wwx's backstory involves being disowned for getting arrested at a student protest which fits him better than just being disowned bc myu simply lost her temper one day HOWEVER I don't think wwx would like reality shows as a 30 yr old

Well, I'll start this blog with this awsome meme! Please enjoy :3

Day 1. What was your first Myu and/or how did you get into Myu?

My first Myu was Mugen Gakuen Mistress Labyrinth. I already knew that there was Sera Myu and I just knew clips with Anza and La Soldier with old, bad wigs and I always thought: How can they mess up Sailor Moon like this? After I watched La Reconquista (which really disappointed me) I wanted to try one of the old musicals. Because I really like Season 3 I picked out Mugen and I was really impressed. It was so good! And because Kawasaki Miki's awsomeness I started to honor her a lot and watched all musicals in which she appeard and than the rest. But it was Mugen who opend the door to Myuworld for me :D

So I found this thing online and decided to do it on tumblr! Day 1. What was your first Myu and/or how did you get into Myu? Well it started when I stumbled across a clip of Moonlight Densetsu from the Black Lady Fankan. Curious about what I had just seen I decided to find the Black Lady musical and watched that. (Totally wasn't prepared for so much feels though) That was pretty much it and I was completely hooked XD The rest is history as they say ;)

30 Day Sailor Moon Challenge: Day 4

Day 04 – Best friendship

This is one which I think depends on the continuity, and also is really hard to pick just one.

So for the manga, I’m not really sure at the moment, but I figure when in doubt, pick Ami and Makoto. Or Sailor Pluto and Chibiusa, that one was really sweet and I wish they would have gotten more time and emphasis, but I also understand the manga to be primarily about Usagi’s journey and, to a lesser extent, Mamoru’s, so I’ll take what I can get.

For the anime, I’d have to go with Ami and Makoto, especially in the Classic season, and in Super S. They always seem to be there for each other no matter what, even if they get things wrong at times. My second choice would probably be Ami and Usagi, even though I think her friendship with Rei was a lot more emphasized especially in later episodes. There are quite a few moments throughout R and S which I particularly liked, and I probably would have been perfectly happy if the Classic season’s episode 9 had been completely “filler” and just Ami and Usagi hanging out.

For PGSM, literally everyone. The friendships played such a huge role in this that I would be hard-pressed to choose just one. But if you held the Black Crystal to my face and said I had to pick, I’d probably choose Makoto and Rei, not because I think theirs is necessarily better, but because theirs is the one that’s featured in my current favorite episode. Though at the same time, Mako and Ami or Usagi and Ami could probably make a pretty close second, especially considering how important these relationships ended up being for Ami’s character arc.

For the old musicals, it’s Usagi and Ami, easily. Both played a huge role in each others’ character arcs throughout the musicals, which I personally felt was especially apparent in the Eien Densetsu and Dream arc musicals. A second choice would probably be either the Starlights or the first stage Amazon Trio, because this was the first time that I could remember actually even liking the Starlights and looking forward to their scenes, but also playing off of each other absolutely amazingly. They seemed to enjoy each others’ company and to be able to express themselves in ways that they didn’t always do towards the other characters. And for the Trio, at least part of it is that they spend almost all their stage-time together and their friendship is massively emphasized throughout almost all of it, so you could pretty easily believe that if one of them wanted to switch sides, the others would be like, “hell yeah we’re switching too” even if they didn’t fully understand why.

For Crystal, I’m going to pull my “when in doubt, choose Ami and Makoto,” but I’d have to rewatch to be sure.

And for the new musicals, I’d have to pull a PGSM and say all five of the main group. There are a lot of moments where they seem to really prop each other up in ways that didn’t always happen in the old musicals due to the rapid rotation of a lot of the cast. For NogiMyu specifically, I’d have to pick the Shitennou, and I have made several posts about how they play off each other in a way I wouldn’t expect from characters who aren’t the first stage Starlights.

For the first time in myu life, I've decided to treat myself to the 1mg xanax I got for "free" - free just like the three bottles of juice I took from the fridge on the day of the surgery, yesterday

At this point I'd also would have paid them a bunch more if they somehow could have made the recovery painless, which it currently isn't. Ironically, the supposed painkiller drops are the ones that burn and itch, and the antiseptic ones don't. I mean... I shouldn't be complaining, it's a miracle that I am even in this incredibly privileged luxury position of even being able to afford a surgery, to have eyes good enough to sustain it, and a job stable enough to just f off for two weeks on a sicke leave.

I can sense making typos and yes I am writing this with eyes closed. Even on minimum brightness, any screen is painful to look at for just a second, and at the same time, the TalkBack accessibility assist app for Android is such a pain in the ass to use, because I hate people talking to me. Wait, no. I love people talking to me. I hate computers talking to me in human voice.

To top it off, our frequently faulty fire alarm went off again. IDK why I said frequently faulty, I don't think it's ever rang a single time when there was an actual fire, because there never was an actual fire that I could detect. Having had a xamax isn't really making the fire alarm pleasant, although to be frank I am glad that it doesn't work that way.

The three of my main anxiety-fighting escapisms I engage in are music, movies (youtube mostly), videogames and reading. Music is a sort of a werird one, I'm realizing now, because it's very difficult to just listen to music with adhd, and not do anything else. I am currently too blind to clean up - literally vast majority of my day today was spent with my ees closed. A bunch of messages unread and unreplied to. An unknown number of emails. Runny nose. It feels like I've had one-day contact lenses on for three days straight without a moisturizing rops in sight - except it's been only 30-ish hours and I've been putting on drops every 10-15 minutes today.

I do appreciate that the nurse called - even if she obviously, couldn't say much just to keep on going through it and call if needed. I am very dubious of how I would actually make a phone call in my current state

But anyway, what I was sayiung is, one thing that I've realized terrifies me more than just being half blind and not being able to play videogames - and of course now I'm skipping over social life and other more important things than petty entertainment - is that I --- like, my introspection capabilities are stunted

I am list without paper and writing. How can you even do a quick CBT exercise if you can't jot anything down? or, if you can, cannot read it back? Not to be the kind of obnoxious white guy who discoveres adversity for the first time in his life, but I honestly am glad for sight, even with the -4.5 glasses that I did have. That I still do have and are now completely useless, as every time I wash my face I'm tempted to put them on only to realize that not seeing is my Current State Of Being.

I really do not want to know how many typos I am making here.

Or to be ffrank, I do not even know if I'm still typing or I misclicked somewhere and typing into some other app uselessly. Wouldn't have been the first time I lost a wall of (useless) text to an accidental F5 or something.

I admit I am somewhat disappointed that I've not somehow achieved perfect bliss with just one xanax pill. Hmmmmmm it's almost as people needed more for comfort than just drugs. Johjly sis of uiou asl ,e

Second half of erso concert i starting in a minute, and I keep wondering why I cannot stand the voice of the klassikaraadio employee. Her voice isn't bad? Like... idk. I think it's unnecessary attept to talk through everything that I cannot stand about radio in general.The sound of an orchestra tuning is one of my favorite things in life nd I hate when it's taken away from me maybe?

How old are the main cast pokemon in human years? specifically the mews, atticus, opal, matt, alexandria, and gamma?

// (sorry in advance if you wanted them to answer, but they wouldn’t know how to quantify it) So, you can sort of tell what stage of life a character is in by their behavior alone, but people strangely enough get Atticus’s wrong all the time, and characters like Clara are maybe somewhat skewed by their longevity.

What age means for any given creature in this world can vary by species, genus, magic-type, and sometimes even subspecies. “Human” is the baseline measure here because you already have a frame of reference for what our ages mean relative to our development! 

Myu

Myu’s actual age is one of the most easily known in the comic itself because we’re told twenty years pass between the opening of the comic and the attack with Gamma. So, she’s 20! But for humans, she’s a lot closer to 15.

Topaz

We also know how old Topaz is; she’s only 1 day old. But she can already talk, and can sort of think abstractly sometimes, so she’s closer to 4 or 5 years old.

Clara

Clara told Gamma she was over two hundred years old. She still upholds older-world values because of that and her stubborn resistance to change, so she’s basically only around 40-45 years old.

--- Within the order of legendary monsters, mews are nothing particularly special, but they can in-theory live indefinitely... as long as they remain lucky. They often live for several centuries at a time, and plateau in maturity for several decades before they continue developing.

Atticus

According to Atticus’s story, the Lambda Project was completed only 5 years ago! But he’s actually a lot closer to Myu’s age, because compared to humans, he’s also 15.

Gamma

Gamma doesn’t remember how old she is, and so neither do we. ;) But while she’s somewhat eccentric, and occasionally acts childish to get Clara’s goat, she’s closer to a 30 year old human.

--- Zoroarks usually live fast-paced lives as though they’re trying outrun the inevitability of their fate, for they live for a maximum of 50-60 years.

Matt

Matt’s very clearly an older man! He’s still got quite a few years in him, though, he can still go toe-to-toe with Caroline’s strong attitude, as well as, apparently, Marie’s antics. He’s currently 56 years old, and for a human, he’s... the same!

--- The pikachu line in particular age at roughly the same rate as humans, despite the fact that other rodent species, even ones similar to pikachu, live for far less.

Opal

Cat pokemon age quickly and mature by the time they’re in their teens for many species... Although it might be debatable to call Opal “mature” at times. She’s currently 24 years old, but closer to 30 years in humans.

--- As a side note, the other cat character in the roster, Sandy, is only 4 years old, but she’s a lot like a 7 year old. Depending on species, a cat monster can live anywhere between 40-100 years.

Alexandria

Alexandria was always willing to help, and very eager to talk to people. Think of someone’s overexcitable mother! She was 30 years old, but was probably closer to 36 to 40 years old.

--- Bird pokemon are incredibly varied and diverse, so how long they live depend heavily on species. Swellow in particular live for about 60 years.

VERY first shot with jc cradling yanli’s body in his arms...okay...

the camerawork in this episode is really good. I don’t like what they do with zoom and the lenses sometimes but here they have the spinning camera around wwx as he is bombarded with hatred on all sides (including sect leader yao going after him for jfm and myu’s murders? fuck him), then later we get the blurry focus as he starts to wake up. it’s effective and doesn’t look stupid

setting things up for ep1 includes lwj getting injured  - which was only because he was looking at wwx losing it. after he gets cut he does a double spin for some reason and kills like 3 people. the blood on wwx’s chin is from him spitting up it up (qi deviating finally?) and it’s daylight out so the freezeframe lets the day catch up with the scene. a little jarring but you see how it all falls together

CLIFF SCENE whew okay I actually...never cried during this scene. it’s really good, the culmination of all his tragedy and loss and self-blame and broken relationships and missed chances, and the suicide of someone who was always so kind and joyful...but you know he’s going to be back. god he really did die with a smile huh

lwj is probably at his most physically drained here, his voice sounds grainy and he’s sweating bullets and wwx can see the toll it’s taking on him, he can see the blood pouring out of his arm and I’m sure all he can think is that he’s only hurting lwj by being held here by him....that idea of tarnishing or ruining someone by association that’s been drilled into him and now he can see physical evidence of it. really though, he’s ready to go. even if lwj was at his best, I doubt he could have done anything to stop him. but jc here must have felt like the nail in the coffin to lwj

my jc sword strike interpretation is that...he missed lol I think he had his eyes closed or something. and then wwx saw that the rock was unsteady and he looked panicked to me, he just wanted to not harm anyone else he loved...what a scene...

the camera angle is really not very flattering. I feel like we can see right up jc’s nose. not his best look and also he’s trying to murder his brother so he doesn’t even have a noble goal to redeem himself. his worst look except for the fake facial hair. nothing is worse than that

do I think it matters that he didn’t actually murder wwx? no. he failed him in the worst ways possible long before that cliff scene.

I find overuse of flashbacks to things we’ve already seen annoying but tbh it’s very helpful here. we just had almost 30 hours of another story and we need to be reminded who everyone is and why it matters. and I appreciate it even though I know the story

there’s so much I love about his opening scenes in gusu... it’s all so gentle and familiar and nostalgic. wwx walking around revisiting his youth, seeing the bright sun and smelling the fresh air. I read the really good post about how his previous life is dreamlike and you can see the surreality of it all in these scenes

right before wwx wanders around CR we get a shot of lwj playing guqin in the middle of the river. why, lwj? do you just love the river a lot and want to give wwx some time to regroup?

also the blurry lens telling us wwx is still bleary but the figures clearing as he wakes up fully, their conversation in which wwx asks if they looked for him and lwj swears he believes him, when in the past they both know he didn’t, the blues and whites, the gentle music. leaving the world in such suffering and noise and coming back to further violence and threats and isolation, this is the first time he can relax and know he’s got a safe place to stay with someone he can trust. he hadn’t been back to gusu since he was a teenager. must have felt like some far-off haven, though on some level he was worried about being questioned and found out, back then

day 1 - tenimyu 3rd 30 day challenge

Day 1: Favourite actor (or top 3) from Tenimyu 3rd

1.) Before I answer this, the main reason why I started watching tenimyu (after putting it off for such a long time) is because I wanted to see the different kinds of Fuji. So the answer I’m going to put here will be in fact.. my favorite Fuji.

It is Sadamoto Fuma

Unlike the other Fuji adaptations, he didn’t smile much, didn’t hold his chin much and he didn’t act much with his eyes. He was also the most boyish Fuji I’ve seen, which was really refreshing. The reason why I like him was that he portrayed the Fuji “which knows he’s good but is unsure of himself/his future” very well.

There is this part where he reminisces about his conversation with Tezuka in the rain where Fuma just.. smiles so depreciatingly at himself and I was just blown away by the depth of emotion he was able to do. 

He’s such a pretty and cute boy who has rare smiles but surprisingly he pulls off the acting when the moment really needed it.

2.) Takuma Zaiki

I’ve always been wary of Tezuka adaptations because I never liked his character much. Zaiki’s Tezuka however is probably the adaptation which made me drink the most amount of “Respect Tezuka Juice”. He acted Tezuka so intensely that his veins almost popped out when he’s held the racket and the way he sweat showed how much effort he gave into the role. His breathing was also part of his acting. I think his build was also quite right for the Tezuka role. I used to imagine Takigawa Eiji (Seigaku 1st Gen) as the eternal Tezuka but now I think of Zaiki when talking about Tezuka.

30 day otome challenge - day 15

15.What are your top three favorite otome games? Why?

In no particular order:

One has to be Amnesia, since playing it was a turning point in my life regarding otomes and husbandos. I don't remember buying it, just that one day I checked my Steam library and it was there, and I think I had started Kent's route. It was summer, so I didn't have class, and I binge played it until I completed all the routes and got all the endings. I was so obsessed that the day after finishing it I went to Buyee looking for plushies and got my Ukyo and Cafe Shin plushies! And I don't think I have to explain how much I love Ukyo...

Hakuoki must be on the list too, since thanks to it I've made wonderful friends and it got me into myus again (and I can watch these myus with my friends and be happy). It's been like a year and a month since fate made me buy it on sale just before going to Ferasha's panel about the Shinsengumi (which featured Hakuoki), and though it took me a long time (5 or 6 months) to finish Kyoto Winds, it triggered another hyperfixation that had me looking at Hakuoki memes on Tumblr for hours. And in case someone doesn't know, back in the day I had a friend who was as obsessed with Kuroshitsuji and Kuromyu as much as I was, so we spent hours and hours (of class) writing a fic (Shinigami DEATH), countless breaks singing Kuromyu and such... Life and things happened and we haven't been friends for years, so while I still love Kuromyu I don't have someone to share it with. Discovering Hakumyu made me insanely happy because, apart from the fact that it's full of great songs and has an amazing cast, it reminded me of my love for Kuromyu and those times with my friend. The cherry on top was joining Haku Hell, where I've met the sweetest people who share my love for both the game and the myus.

And for the third one I'm debating myself between Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side 1 and Mystic Messenger, but I think MysMe is going to take the spot. I distinctly remember the day I learnt about its existence and the day I started playing, and it really helped me get through uni. Also, I cosplayed Mary Vanderwood the 3rd (the maid) and have good memories of that cosplay, I felt comfortable and confident wearing it (I should get it shipped to my new apartment so I can wear it to Aniventure next year...)

Day 8. Favorite Moon Actress

Let me just say I think every Moon brought something different to the role and appreciate them all. However my clear favourite has to be Miyuki Kanbe! Right from the first time I watched one of her musicals I was like “this girl literally is Usagi”. I mean there is clearly not too much difference between her playing Usagi and her happy personality in the fan events. She was naturally bubbly and energetic in what she was doing and could really act her socks off in those emotional moments. To me she was the one who brought Usagi and Sailor Moon to life on stage the most.
