Day 25: Favorite Female Protagonist

I have a fair amount of favorite female protagonists but I only have so much love for her right now. Kagura is not your typical female protagonist--Sorachi-sensei does not write her as a mere female counterpart a shonen manga, which usually offers bishoujo with great body and tsundere personality. She's a 14 year old with crazy strength of a nearly extinct blood-thirsty tribe. She eats a ton and copies the main hero's bad habits, which includes picking nose and making dirty jokes. She speaks in a weird accent and she's very naïve she often make mistakes from simple instructions (remember when Shinpachi asks him to call the ambulance or the race during Otsu Arc? *sigh*). She's cute, yeah, but she's basically a child so you can't sexualize her unless you're Takechi Henpeita. Although we ship her with Okita, she doesn't have any canonical love interest, which makes her even stronger because heroines are sometimes only meant to fill that love interest role.

But the greatest thing about Kagura is perhaps her true personality behind all her silliness. She wants to get rid of the blood thirsty nature within herself, and when she snapped that one time, it was because she wants to protect her dearest friend. Albeit her violence, she is truly a gentle girl at heart. I really love her for that matter.

Gintama 30 Day Challenge: Day 29 - Favorite Manga Volume (Volume 1. Where it all started. I just love how they all have a disaster first meeting, and yet it didn’t stop them from getting involved with each other, whether they like it or not.)

Day 08: Favourite Antagonist

I like Kamui and Nobunobu. Kamui because he’s handsome brutal, and stick to his beliefs. Though it means to stay away from his family. And Nobunobu because he’s probably one of the characters that I hate the most, because he killed the character that I love, and he’s pure evil, greedy, wanting to take over the goverment. But most importantly, because he repents in the end. You won’t believe his characteristics will develope this much. It makes us wanna believe that deep down he’s a good man, though I still cannot forgive him.
