Also before the Emmy nominees are announced friendly reminder to my fellow HOTD fans that, due to releasing after May 31st, HOTD Season 2 is not eligible for this year's Emmys. They will be eligible (and likely nominated) next year at the 2025 Emmys.

== Love Notes ==

Wow! Today was a busy day in the fandom! I feel like Mondays always are, but today feels particularly busy! There's so much going on, and everyone seems to be having such a great time with the new press release photos that were found yesterday!

It's so lovely to see this kind of energy and love being injected back into the fandom. I was mentioning this to a friend recently... that it feels almost like OFMD itself is a giant puzzle that we all have access to, and every time we think we're nearing completion of it, some cool new footage, bts, stills, information, interviews, anything-- shows up and suddenly we have all these new pieces to fit into place.

The puzzle is never really finished, but it gets bigger and more intricate with every discovery, and I absolutely love spinning the pieces around and seeing where they fit with all of you.

Whether you are brand new to the fandom, somewhat seasoned, or an ofmd fandom elder, I hope you know that you bring so much joy to this place! I know sometimes we have our spats between fans, but what family doesn't have those? We have so many talented, brilliant members on this crew, and I love coming back online every day and getting to fit another piece into the puzzle with you.

I hope you all are having fun crew, because that's what fandoms are all about. Remember to take a break if you need to, and scream loudly all your love if you feel up for it. We love hearing it <3 Happy Murray Monday lovelies!

Queerty’s Hot Takes: Now this is what we’re talking about! This is one of two aforementioned acting categories with majority LGBTQ+ performers—how incredible is that? Gay stars Matt Bomer and Andrew Scott are recognized for their long overdue lead roles, bisexual Richard Gadd’s Baby Reindeer is basically the belle of this Emmys season, and Tom Hollander—who this year said his “sexuality is sufficiently liberal”—gets a nod for playing Truman Capote, one of the gayest people ever. We. Are. Obsessed...'

Happy with most of the 2024 Oscar noms but there were some really strange snubs. First about "The Iron Claw" and Zac Efron being shut out from everything. Sadly it proves what a lot of us wrestling fans have said for years that these award bodies have a bias against pro-wrestling and depicting real-life wrestlers as really only projects about fictional wrestling has ever gotten noms like "The Wrestler" and "Glow" (which both were good too). There are other good wrestling movies and shows that get overlooked including "Dark Side of the Ring" which should've gotten Emmy noms for documentary series. Thankfully The National Board of Review and the critics enjoyed it just as much as us wrestling fans and people in general who saw the movie and liked it. Then I'm shocked Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig didn't get any for Best Actress or Best Director even though the "Barbie" movie did really well in other categories too. Also Charles Melton got snubbed too. Other than that it was what was expected and looking forward to seeing who wins.

Every year we try to predict the very unpredictable Emmys in a very special episode of Dual Redundancy. This year Dave, Kyle and John try and forecast who will take home the Emmy in all the major categories for the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards which will take place on September 15th 2024 on ABC. We predict the acting categories for drama series, limited or anthology series and comedy series as well as the main three: outstanding limited series, outstanding drama series, and outstanding comedy series.

Adrienne Westenfeld, Esquire. I read some of Marie's Fabels in English Lit in college but didn't know anything else about her. I didn't realize how much Groff made up while I was reading Matrix (everything).

How to Make a Cheese Plate for Just Yourself—and Why That's a Really, Really Good Idea, Emily Johnson, Epicurious. Good life advice, although I'd go with crusty bread dipped in olive oil over crackers.

This time last year, no one would’ve predicted that an adaptation of a Scottish comedian’s stage show would have ended up as one of 2024’s most talked-about TV series and made headlines around the world (for better and worse). But that’s exactly the trajectory that Richard Gadd’s Baby Reindeer has enjoyed, and right now it feels like a dead cert for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series; the controversies around its “real life” story have only boosted its profile and kept it in viewers’ and voters’ minds. Still, I’d like to see some awards love for Ripley, a real slow burn of a show that didn’t fall into the trap of aping the beloved Anthony Minghella film adaptation and instead carved out its own thrilling path...

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie

Richard Gadd – Baby Reindeer as Donny Dunn (Netflix)

Matt Bomer – Fellow Travelers as Hawkins Fuller (Showtime)

This one’s a particularly stacked category, filled with worthy winners, but Baby Reindeer’s creator-star Gadd feels like the one to beat (his is by far the most talked-about performance on the list, despite the fact that he had a very limited profile in the US just a few months ago). Scott, however, was snubbed by the Emmys for his role as Fleabag’s “hot priest” so it feels like he is well overdue some recognition from voters. His performance as Ripley’s titular conman was by turns charming and chilling, and once again proved that he’s one of the most compelling actors working today...'
