It was cool to see more of the Death Angels' habits and anatomy
They use the plates on their heads to feel things, probably not texture, but density or moveability
And that scene with the pollen
I don't think they have scent receptors on the flesh around their ears, otherwise they can smell all the characters,
Or only picks up the smell of the fungus
Or they can feel the pollen
I don't think they can feel the same way a snake or shark can to vibrations and changes in surrounding
Or they taste things like that, the muscles around their ears having taste receptors instead
That does lead into how they evolved that way
Heavily armored, super hearing but lacking all the other senses, but extremely fast and violent
If they're like sharks and they taste with their mouths, it explains why they kill everything, wanting to see if it's the fungus or not, but if the fungus is really the only thing they eat
Why are they so violent
Their food source doesn't fight back
Did they have to fight other things off
Are they actually the prey species that would rather go on the offensive than run away
Are they the first wave of a bigger invasion
Genetic modified weapons that still need to eat something seeing as the fungus grows around impact sights (if it's not just more of an invasive plant species that arrived on the bits of a foreign planet along with the Death Angels, they had to eat something on the asteroids)
And the whole water thing
I don't think eyeless animalistic aliens riding on asteroids had any say in where to go, they could've landed on Mars and they wouldn't know
If they are the first wave, they wipe out the indigenous species, some are sacrificed to the water because if there's enough to invade a planet, there's enough to lose
And the main invaders can just make more
What else was there
Heartbeats
I'm sure the Death Angels have a limit to what they can hear or they can actually differentiate between danger, prey, or ambiant
They don't go attacking each other
They're clicking is rythmic, they snore when they sleep
Maybe they don't attack a constant rhythm that's at a certain decibel or range
Range is another thing
High pitched noises hurt them
How low of a range can they pick up
It seems not the range of a heartbeat
A heartbeat is 20-150 Hz
A meow is 200-1200 Hz
A purr is 25-150 Hz
(Frodo did purr a few times in the film
I was like, STOP PURRING
it was adorable but still)
Breathing can be as low as 60 Hz and as high as 2000 Hz
A cough is 1273-3605 Hz
20 Hz is as low as people can hear, but we can feel sounds lower than that, maybe with that thick armor, Death Angels can't feel low frequency sounds
Maybe the Death Angels lowest limit is actually 200 Hz
#1lom post#a quiet place day one#a quiet place#aqpd1#death angels#i just think they're neat#elephants can make and hear sound under 20 hz#maybe elephants will save the world

I think I have found the perfect subwoofer for my modestly-sized living room.
The Ascendo 50" subwoofer can play frequencies down to 5 Hz. It is powered with 6000 watts and is capable of 140 decibels.
Nearly as loud as a fighter jet!
This speaker was created due to a somewhat recent audiophile obsession with infrasonic bass. Humans can hear frequencies between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz. But some people believe frequencies below 20 Hz can create an intense pressure allowing for a more immersive home theater experience. So you can't hear it, but you can feel it. They might even install subwoofers behind or below their seating to completely rattle their bones.
I haven't experienced this myself, as my measly 12" sub is tuned to 20 Hz, but a small group with a lot of extra money have started installing multiple giant subwoofers in their home theaters to enhance this infrasonic effect.
But getting below 20 Hz requires giant woofers and a lot of power. Even dipping down a few Hz can require 18 or 21 inch speakers and powerful amplifiers over 4000 watts. A 21" PSA sub is rated down to 11 Hz at a cost of $3100 and people usually get 4 or more.
So how do you get down to 5 Hz?
It takes 29 more inches of surface area, 2000 extra watts, and 124,300 extra dollars to shave off another 6 Hz.
But Ascendo didn't stop there!
They make an 80" version that can play down to 1 Hz. It has to be professionally installed and requires encasement in 4 tons of concrete. There aren't any good pictures of it, but this video shows it off pretty well.

I feel like your Millie and my Millie along with having very different styles have almost polar opposite taste in alt music. Your Millie strikes me as a modern punk fan, and mine barely listens to anything released after 2010. She owns ten Siouxsie and the Banshees shirts and writes the lyrics to Black Parade in her notebooks and screams along to Decadence in her room until Maurice turns off his hearing aids so he doesn’t have to hear more than three decibels of it but doesn’t disturb whatever cathartic musical breakdown she’s having upstairs. With yours’ music taste we’re looking at 2000-present. She probably owns a lot of bracelets of her favorite artists either bought or self made and has a playlist of the best of Avril Lavigne that she loves comparing her own voice to because sounding so much like her gives her confidence and always has her grandpa’s car radio set to whatever channel plays the most pop-punk.
My Millie, predisposed to resent others and think no one could ever get her, kind of side eyes your Millie for liking modern pop punk and emo and not really having an interest in older alt music. But then your Millie actually plays her music forcing mine to give it a chance and she’s like woah, no one told me modern alt music was actually good
And then Maurice has to turn off his hearing aids and pray for profound hearing loss because now he has two emo girls upstairs screaming along to Bring Me the Horizon at full volume
I think our Dylans would be much more normal about the interaction of sharing music. “Hey do you listen to The Ramones” “no” “do you want to” “only if you want to listen to MGK” “deal” and then they’re both just chilling as my Dylan’s got Bloody Valentine playing and he’s just sitting back thinking about Brooke bc of the song and yours has Pet Sematary playing and just really wants to know if this song was in the movie
I think though that our Dylans (as well as maybe My Dylan and your Millie) would bond over a shared interest in 2000s scene music too
You’re Millie lowkey judging my Millie for being more typical edgy early 2000s emo is so in character though-
My Millie definitely owns a ton of old scene band graphic tees and rubber wristbands of popular bands at the time like Pierce The Veil and A Day To Remember that you would find at Hot Topic back then
Now I’m wondering how our Maurices interacting would go since they’re not that different, except mine is a little more unhinged and the very obvious one-

Cooking a tenderloin for the first time
Typical 2000s upper middleclass upbringing, never learned to cook. Basic stuff in college, eggs, ground beef. 2 years were spent living off of frozen and fast food with little exception save for crockpot meals and spaghetti. Today I learned from my chef friend of a store selling cheap meat. We go, I lock eyes with a beautiful beef tenderloin, 8/10, 0.8 pounds for $4.27. Friend recommends searing it, which sounds delicious so yeah I'm into it. I learn online to best perform such a maneuver the pan be stainless steel and slicked with vegetable oil for even stoving at a high temp. I bring it home, remember I have no cookware except for my 12 qt spaghetti pot. It's technically stainless steel and olive oil is definitely oil, ooh baby I'm chefing it up. Pots a little dusty from when I made something a couple months ago. I give it a rinse so the surface is perfectly clean and ready to take this gorgeous cut of meat. Set stove to medium high as per directions, dry and rub the meat for cooking perfection. Add olive oil to the pot. The bottom of the pot isn't perfectly flat so add enough to coat the bottom, the edges half a centimeter deep trenches of Italy's finest. Oil pops and smokes a little as it usually does, the pot acting like a megaphone raising the decibels to subsonic gunshot level but other than that the spaghetti pot is a viable alternative to frying pans, I'm a culinary genius. More popping -- bigger. Smoke plume -- also bigger. Luckily the stove has a fan, no problem. Smoke alarm goes off. Pull pot off the heat and smoke alarm off the wall. Wait for annoying life-preserving chirping to stop, put back up on wall. Instant pot goes back on stove more chirping. I've had enough of this modern, dystopian replacement for a coal shaft canary, and put it in time out in another room while daddy is doing big things in the kitchen. My FBI agent enjoying my sitcom Google search history: 'how to sear', 'oil popping in pan', 'how to turn off smoke alarm.' But genius has no time for shame. Time to rub this meat and turn up the heat. (Salt, pepper, garlic, red pepper in case you're curious). Drop that bad boy into the pot, hand fleeing the vicinity for fear of Hell bubbles. Meat completely crumples and folds, must fix for even sear. Watching through the tube of a paper towel roll, poke the meat with a spoon til it's flat. Cook it on low medium heat because the smoke has become unbearable. Eventually flip it over, not even seared. I'm ruined, psychologically. I decide a delicacy is worth a little smoke, crank it up to medium high, converting the top third of the kitchen living space to a fluffy olive-scented cumulonimbus. Coughing, I remember in school we were taught to crouch during a fire to get fresh air. Thank god for public education. Periodically crouching then uncrouching to check the meat progress. Decide it's done, the vapor on release nothing short of a divine smoke signal from god himself telling me what a good job I did, and to ignore the lying meat skin, who displayed a lightly cooked exterior in an attempt to deceive me into thinking there was no sear. Plate it up. Bottom of pot covered in a delectable black crust char and oil mixture. Toast some bread so as not to waste a drop and eat the most scrumptious sandwich I've had in a year.

How to Outsmart Your Boss on dafabet
Whether Robert Maxwell committed suicide or was murdered may never be known to the public …
Suffice it to say the disgraced publishing magnate cheated so many people and financial institutions to such an extent that there wouldn’t be a paucity of suspects if it was the latter. Born in Slatinske Dly to poor parents as Jan Ludvick Hoch and Anglicizing his name when he migrated to Great Britain during World War II, Maxwell used the fog of combat to his advantage, picking k8vn off a scientific journal distributorship at a bargain rate. He soon parlayed that into more literary acquisitions and doing so with such aplomb, he even gained election to Parliament.
However, a trail of deceit began soon thereafter, which led to a High Court censorship, then to possible war crime allegations and, ultimately, to an amazing web of falsified balance sheets and deceptive bank loan collateral which masked Maxwell’s mass looting of his own publishing empire’s coffers. When all was about to come crashing down upon him, Maxwell was reported to have fallen overboard while yachting along the Canary Islands. His extensive double-dealing earned him the posthumous title of The Bouncing Czech.
Maxwell’s bombastic ego, though, was authentic. He ached to be larger than life and to outdo any perceived rival, such as Australian billionaire Rupert Murdoch, whose own publishing empire spans the globe. Ironically, Maxwell tried to seize any opportunity to portray Murdoch as a low-life, casting himself as a higher-minded alternative 20Bet to the conscientious consumer. Thus, to counter Murdoch’s titillation-themed, Tory-leaning tabloid, the Sun, Maxwell ran his Daily Mirror as a seemingly kinder, gentler, Labour-oriented purveyor of similar stories.
Maxwell always ran a distant second in the United Kingdom’s tabloid wars, so he was constantly looking for an edge with which to tweak Murdoch’s operations and further convey the image — however cynical — of his holding the higher social and ethical ground. I can attest that, at least once, a blend of this obsession and his blowhard personality got the better of him.
It was a summer day in the mid-80s, and the prospects of secondary smoke being a health issue in the workplace were beginning to be accepted as fact. It was surely noble for Cap’n Bob — as Maxwell was derisively known — to be among the first to attempt an office-wide smoking ban. The Mirror’s headquarters was no doubt better served, but it was clear his motives were for self-promotion rather than a genuine concern for his employees’ welfare.
The first clue that this was the case was the boisterous manner by which Maxwell arbitrarily enforced the policy. Specifically, he loved to make a scene if it showed him in an authoritarian and positive light. Thus, when Cap’n Bob proclaimed a ban, he did it for maximum effect. In this instance, he decreed that anyone caught smoking in his building would be fired on the spot.
On this day, Maxwell was holding court for visitors of some dignified nature. He was guiding them through the Mirror facilities when a man hunched over a nearby photocopy machine caught his attention. The man had a cigarette dangling from his lips.
Cap’n Bob summoned his guests to follow him over there. Puffing his chest as he approached the man puffing away, Maxwell began his diatribe within steps of his quarry and gained decibels with each successive step.
“Sir!” he exclaimed, “How much do you make a month?”
The target of his wrath was caught off-guard. It took him a moment to confirm that Maxwell was speaking to him; actually, ‘at him’ would be more accurate.
“I asked you a question,” Maxwell pressed, making sure that his guests totally understood who was in charge of the moment, “And I expect a prompt fan888 answer. How much do you make a month!”
“2000 quid,” was the nervous response. “Why do you ask?”
“You’re smoking!” was the roared retort. Cap’n Bob then reached into his pocket in preparation for the coup de grace. He pulled out a wad of bills, quickly sifted through 2000 and jammed it into the surprised man’s shirt pocket.
“There’s a month’s wage! You’re fired! Now, get out!”
Maxwell then stormed away, his cotillion of impressed guests following dutifully behind. A strong boss had surely made a firm point.
Left in the wake, the stunned man retrieved the stash of cash from his pocket, looked at it and then shook his head in amazement.
“I was just called here to repair the copier,” he shrugged. He put the money in his pants pocket, flicked a few ashes to the ground, headed toward the front door and proceeded to his van. Perhaps he had more calls to make that day, but he probably opted to cancel them and make his way to a pub, instead.
The incident capsulized Cap’n Bob’s act in a nutshell. He was all show, with little attention to detail. It was a harbinger that whenever someone paid close heed to his affairs, he’d be sunk.
I just didn’t think it would happen so literally.

Understanding Your Hearing Test Results
If you have trouble hearing, the best thing you can do is to see an audiologist for a comprehensive hearing evaluation. Once you receive the test results in the form of an audiogram, the graphs, crosses, circles, and lines might seem a little confusing at first. If you are not sure how to read them, don’t fret. In this guide, we will go through how to read and interpret a hearing test result.
You might be wondering how hearing is measured. How is it possible to tell if a person can hear well or not?
Normal hearing measures between 10 and 15 decibels for each threshold. Slight hearing loss might show between 16 and 25. Here, your doctor may suggest a follow-up audiometry test at a later stage to monitor your hearing and make sure that it does not get worse. From the other tests, we list:
Speech recognition
Speech discrimination
Tympanometry
Acoustic reflexes
Hearing threshold
Word recognition percentage
What is an audiogram?
An audiogram is a chart or graph that displays the results of your hearing test by measuring your hearing ability across a range of frequencies in each ear independently. It shows the softest sounds you can hear at each frequency (high-pitched sounds versus low-pitched sounds) and intensity (or loudness), that is how well you hear from the auditory pathway or the different parts of the ear.
What does a hearing test result look like?
Frequency or pitch is usually measured in Hertz (Hz). It is read from left to right on the audiogram. Each vertical line (right axis) represents a different frequency including 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 6000, and 8000 Hz. Normal hearing fluctuates from 20 Hz up to 20,000 Hz. The most sensitive hearing range for the average person is between 2000 and 5000 Hz.
The intensity is measured in decibels (dB). It indicates how soft or loud a sound is. Each horizontal line (left axis) characterizes a different intensity level. The softest sounds are at the top of the chart, while the loudest sounds are at the bottom. The loudest intensity tested is typically 120 dB and the softest is 0 dB.
At first, it might look like a bunch of indecipherable lines and symbols. However, once you learn how to interpret it, you can better understand your hearing loss and your audiologist will better understand your type of hearing loss as well.
We have to mention that the audiogram is quantitative and not qualitative. It uses a numerical system that measures residual hearing ability in a quiet room. It neither describes the quality of your hearing ability nor detects if you have hidden hearing loss.
Hearing Loss Levels
To start with, there are several levels of hearing loss. The normal limits where hearing is normal for an average human adult is -10 to 20 dB. Hearing loss ranges from none to profound, depending on the hearing threshold, which is the softest sound heard at a certain frequency.
1. Mild
It refers to the threshold that ranges between 20-40 decibels. At this level, you can talk with people face to face. You can understand them perfectly. What you cannot understand is the sound from far away or conversations taking place in louder spaces.
2. Moderate
It refers to the threshold that ranges between 40-70 decibels. You struggle to hear conversations no matter where the setting is. You might have difficulty hearing conversations found in noisy spaces. Some words in a conversation can be missed.
3. Severe
It refers to the threshold that ranges between 70- 95 decibels. You get confused in conversations in groups or background noise. You struggle to hear some household sounds such as the doorbell or telephone ringing. You rely on lip reading in conversation, whether consciously or not.
4. Profound
It refers to the threshold that ranges above 95 decibels, that is very little or no hearing. You rely on lip reading or using sign language, even with the use of hearing aids.
It is extremely important to note that a person with a normal audiogram can still have hearing difficulties in certain situations. For example, a person with normal hearing might find it difficult to understand the conversation with a certain background noise or coming from another room. This is what we call “hidden hearing loss.” It is a type of hearing loss when the person has a normal audiogram but has a lot of difficulty with background noise.
How to read an audiogram
Different symbols are used which indicate the thresholds on an audiogram. Each symbol on the chart represents the threshold for a given frequency. Once all of the thresholds are measured and plotted on the graph, they can be connected to form easy-to-read lines for both the right and left ears.
If both lines are overlapping, your hearing loss is considered symmetrical- that is the same in both ears.
If the lines are not overlapping, your hearing loss is considered asymmetrical- that is your ears have different degrees of hearing loss.
If you glance at your audiogram, you can determine whether you have hearing loss or not. You will see lines with red circles/triangles and blue crosses/squares. The line joined together by crosses (usually on the right) represents the hearing in the left ear, and the line joined together by circles (usually on the left) shows the hearing in the right ear. It is a little confusing, but it is made this way so your audiologist facing you can read them and interpret the results.
In short, the lower the line drops on the chart, the worse your hearing is at that specific frequency.
Results for the part of the hearing test, when you are listening through speakers, are marked with “S” " This line represents the response of at least one ear or the better hearing ear.
The right ear is graphed with < or [, and the left ear is graphed with > or]. These responses determine whether a hearing loss is conductive or sensorineural.
A steady line connecting your threshold levels at the top of the chart indicates a standard hearing.
Adults can consider themselves to have normal hearing ability if their responses indicate they heard noises between 0 and 25 dB across the frequency range.
Children are considered to have hearing ability within normal limits if their responses are between 0 to 15 dB across the frequency range.
A line rising or dropping along the chart indicates hearing loss for certain frequencies. Your audiologist will classify the severity of your hearing loss by where the symbols fall on the graph. The space between your threshold and the normal hearing area represents all the sounds you are missing because of your hearing loss. The bigger the space, the more sounds you will not be able to hear.
A line lower on the chart states extreme hearing loss.
What do the results indicate?
The most important thing is to notice at what volume the curve starts and how steeply it drops off. You can work out the overall degree of your hearing loss from mild to profound by calculating the average of the readings. Many people are surprised by the shape of their hearing test curve. This is due to the gradual presence of hearing loss and the brain’s ability to adapt to the loss, which makes it not noticeable for some time.
What to do with your test results
The audiogram that you did will provide you with all the treatment options for hearing loss. It will give guidance on how to treat the condition by articulating the type of hearing loss you have and how much hearing loss you have.
Complementing your treatment with noise protection is always essential. Some treatments include:
Hearing aids
Cochlear implants
Cleaning excessive earwax
Medication for infections or wax removal
Surgery
Ear tubes
In certain conditions, the doctor recommends additional hearing tests or diagnostic procedures to better understand your current condition, such as getting a tympanogram or middle ear exploration.
You can examine your audiogram to check if you have hearing loss. The results of your hearing test serve as a baseline for you and your audiologist to monitor any changes in your hearing down the road. Treatment will be recommended based on the type of hearing loss depicted on the audiogram and how severe it is. Be an effective participant in your hearing health care! Get your hearing test now.

FROZN A620 :The Dual-Tower CPU Heatsink From ID-COOLING
Dual-Tower CPU Heatsink FROZN A620
ID-Cooling has unveiled their brand new FROZN A620 Black Dual-Tower CPU heatsink cooler. This cooler, which the firm claims is capable of cooling systems with a power consumption of up to 260 watts, has been presented by ID-Cooling. However, despite the fact that this may seem to be a terrific feature, the fact that this cooling system is reasonably priced is ultimately going to be what draws customers to this product.
The FROZN A620 Dual-Tower CPU Heatsink Cooler can cool down systems with TDPs of up to 260 watts
ID-Cooling is in effect. The FROZN A620 is a dual-tower heatsink, which indicates that it is made up of two aluminum-finned blocks that are attached to the baseplate with a total of six heatpipes. This allows the heatsink to effectively dissipate the heat generated by the processor. These heatpipes extend all the way down from the top of the baseplate to the bottom of the baseplate.
The central processing unit (CPU) is created using a high-precision CNC technology, and the baseplate is designed with a nickel-plated copper construction that makes direct contact with the CPU. The two towers, when joined together, feature a total of 108 aluminum fins that are stacked on top of one another to make the process of heat removal easier. It has been said that this central processing unit (CPU) cooler is capable of dissipating up to 260W of power, which suggests that it is able to accommodate almost any modern major CPU produced by Intel or AMD.
The FROZN A620 is equipped with a pair of FDB fans, each of which is designed to produce a low amount of noise while at the same time generating a significant amount of air flow volume. The Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) serves as the controller for these fans, which may rotate at rates ranging from 500 to 2000 times per minute. They provide an airflow rate of 78.25 cubic feet per minute and have a noise level that is lower than 29.85 decibels A. The proper connectors are used in order to connect the fans to the standard 4-pin headers on the motherboard.
The ID-Cooling FROZN A620 Dual-Tower heatsink features
The ID-Cooling FROZN A620 Dual-Tower heatsink features dimensions that are 120 millimeters in width, 140 millimeters in length, and 154 millimeters in height, and its fans have the more standard size of 120 millimeters in diameter. In addition, the cooler has a ram clearance that may reach up to 40 millimeters when the fan is positioned on the outer side of the heatsink and up to 65 millimeters when the fan is placed in the area between the heatsinks.
In terms of compatibility, ID-Cooling offers support for central processing units (CPUs) of the 12th, 13th, and 14th Generations from Intel, in addition to CPUs of the AM4 and AM5 families from AMD. In addition to that, support is offered for more outmoded Intel sockets, such as 115X and LGA 1200. In addition, the FROST X25 thermal compound with a rating of 10.5W/mk will be included in the distribution of the cooler. This compound will be a part of the standard package.
The cost of FROZN A620 CPU
In China, the ID-Cooling FROZN A620 CPU cooler can be bought for the equivalent of $35.69 USD, which is 259 RMB. This pricing was discovered on the official website of the manufacturer. This cooler has the potential to provide cooling power of up to 260W, and the price is rather affordable considering what all it has to offer.
Given the pricing point, which is about half the price of some of the more well-known dual-tower heatsinks such as the AK620 from DeepCool, which costs roughly $60-$70 US, we can see a lot of potential consumers for this product. Given the price point, we can also see a lot of prospective users for this product. However, we won’t know for certain till the heatsink is put through a battery of tests in a wide range of environments first.
