7. Any media/fandom you will avoid at all costs?

personally speaking i make a point of avoiding n.eil g.aiman and anything related to him. i know there are legitimate criticisms against him which i cant remember atm (bad memory day </3) but my dislike for him goes back longer than people have made posts about it. it all started when i was reading this anthology of short horror fiction and i understand that the thing about anthologies is that due to the variety there are bound to be some authors and/or selections i won't like for whatever reason and that's just part of the process. HOWEVER. at that point i had never read one of his works before but i'd heard a lot about him. so i read the selection and it sucked. i don't remember what it was about but i do remember it was a challenge to slog through and i was grateful for when it was over. i was disappointed because even then he'd been hyped up and maybe this was just a bad selection of his work but in any case it did not make a good impression on me and i moved on. flash forward to at least a few years later and i'm reading a different anthology. "horror of the decade" ed. by ellen datlow, something i never finished which requires its own post but to sum up some of her selections DEFINITELY should not have been hailed "best of the decade." they shouldn't have been selected as good horror at all if in my opinion. but anyway g.aiman was on the bookjacket and i was like *sigh* okay well im not really looking forward to it but i guess i'll give it a shot especially since it was one of the shorter entries. and then i read it and it fucking sucked. it was ass. it was some stupid story about sailors lost at sea who resorted to cannibalism or something and i wanted to like it but i just couldn't get behind his writing. at that point, to me, it felt like he'd just been included so that his name could be slapped on the cover and they selected one of his works at random. it felt a lot like quality didn't matter for some of the selections as much as the name or maybe filling up space. or perhaps it's the editor's personal choice which is why i dislike datlow as an editor. and dont get me wrong there was a few REALLY, REALLY good selections in that volume but g.aiman's was NOT one of them. and it just felt like an utter waste of time and a joke because there was nothing impressive or noteworthy about his writing or storytelling ability and what always makes my dislike worse is when people's fanbases have to hype them up as a god-send or revolutionary. now i am aware that maybe these were just. bad selections and not representative of his full body of work and to that i say too bad i dont care. and i am also aware that there are probably fans of his i am mutuals with who love his work which is fine great good for them this is not directed @ them but it's irrelevant. because i think he sucks and he's overrated and exacerbates it all is that he's on tumblr as like the resident uwu celebrity author or whatever and it's like. you come onto the silly little blogging site where i reblog silly images with my friends and mutuals and make me not only hear about him but make me see his TAKES? his posts? JAIL! JAIL FOR 1000 YEARS! and in any case it doesn't really matter the block button is free and filtering tags exist but also if ONE more person recs his books to me i will explode. i dont want to read him i do not care i dont think he's more noteworthy or talented than anyone else on the scene (not that i am aware of the scene) i just do not care and do not want to hear about him. yeehaw <3

actually wait I wanna talk about something I've noticed that I was literally just talking about and I think has to do with like. why people don't draw female CCs with their actual features. If I'm not making any sense just ignore me

So boobs and curves have been sexualized to hell and back despite the fact that they're not sexual features of a person, and this has led to the idea that boobs and curves are sexual.

Which leads people to think that drawing these features is sexualization, regardless of how much a streamer might actually just look like that. (not to jump away from women and misogyny, but it's why you see people in this fandom throwing a fit whenever a male character is drawn with these features, because they see them as inherently sexual)

So what you end up with is a bunch of people who try to make female and female presenting streamers as curveless and boobless as possible, which often makes them look just really skinny and flat and not like themselves at all.

Not to say that a large part of it doesn't come from people refusing to draw streamers with their actual body types in the first place, but I'd argue that this is a part of it and they work together to make it worse.

areus you are 1000% correct on this. people are so scared to "sexualize" anyone that they refuse to draw women accurately, even though its not sexualizing to show that niki has boobs. drawing her to look like a skinny eighteen year old boy is nuts. its weird and in an industry where female streamers are already pressured to be thin and follow conventional beauty standards its honestly awful.

drawing grian or scar or wilbur with boobs is not sexualizing them. its going oh wouldnt it be interesting or funny if this guy who doesnt have boobs had boobs. isnt gender so weird and funny and arbitrary. now i do get annoyed with how often people are willing to draw mcyt dudes in dresses or with tits but have never drawn a woman in their life-- that does get to me. okay, you can draw boobs. why dont you draw them on someone who actually has them irl? i genuinely dont have an issue with the scitties stuff it just annoys me that people in this fandom would rather draw a guy in a dress bc haha* than draw a woman at all. drawing male characters with boobs is great though. imo its akin to drag in a weird way but i dont want to get into the dynamics of drag and gender parody rn since that's not the point of this ask. regardless its cool and people should do it if they want but they should also draw women.

again, im not calling anyone out or saying this is across the board the case, just saying it can be a trend in fandoms. like all of this, im not saying anyone is doing this on purpose. misogyny is pervasive and systemic, just like most forms of oppression. thats why my biggest advice is to just look at your own behavior when you can and try to notice trends.

anyway aside from that element of things i dont have anything to add, your insights are very welcome! body image is a huge issue in media and i think attempts to "desexualize" female streamers end up being incredibly harmful.

*the "man in a dress" concept, btw, can be incredibly harmful and is often a transmisogynistic stereotype. im not saying it is here but i would encourage folks to think hard about when that joke is just about being horny over some guy's thighs and when its about how comedic it is that person who looks like, for example, scar (who has what society deems as "masculine" characteristics) is wearing a dress. again, i dont think this is the case for much of this fandom as most of you just seem to like drawing dudes in dresses bc its fun, which is great, but watch out for this stereotype in other forms of media. if you want more info on this please feel free to ask.

If you enjoy a post, REBLOG!!!

Reblogging a post helps it gain traction, plus you can leave private comments in the tags that only op and the person you reblogged from will see.

This is ESPECIALLY important for art and fic!!! Reblogging supports the artist/writer, and i can guarantee you that any little comment you put in tags will make their day.

Also, unlike a lot of other social media, tumblr posts have no "expiration date". It's common for old posts to randomly resurface and be mass-reblogged by people. It's also fairly common to go through someone's blog and spam-reblog (some people don't like this, and will say so in their bio or pinned post. usually tho, you can assume spam-reblogging will only bring a smile to someone's face). It's also common to reblog a post multiple times in a row!

Also, reblogging =/= reposting! Reblogging still gives op the traction and notes, unlike (as i've heard anyway, i don't use twt) quote-retweets. When an artist says "don't repost", they mean don't save the image and share it in an entirely new post of your own.

Next topic! Tags. Tags in a post itself won't do anything. Use the tumblr tags for it! Tumblr tags also let you make comments in a sort of "whisper voice", and sometimes someone will see your tags and find them funny enough to screenshot and put in a reblog. This is colloquially known as being peer reviewed, and is both a blessing and a curse. People can also see who you reblogged from, and sometimes will reblog from that person instead if there's "unnecessary comments" in a reblog, such as an @ or an in-joke with a mutual.

If you don't reblog anything, people will tend to assume you're a bot and block you on sight. This site has a history of pornbots who will like a post on someone's blog and thus create a connection for google searches. Most people don't want that connection, and thus block empty blogs. Having a profile picture and a blog title/bio will help prevent this, but even with your likes public an empty blog will often get blocked on sight.

Speaking of public likes! They're useless. Mostly, likes are used to save posts for later, such as a recipe you want to look back on, or a video you couldn't watch while in public, or something you couldn't reblog because you hit your post limit. Tumblr's post limit is iirc about 200 posts a day (incl reblogs), so go ham! If your post limit has been hit, you can always queue things up for later. In your blog settings you can find your queue, and adjust how often and when it'll post. You can have up to 1000 posts queued, so when i say go ham i MEAN go ham.

TL;DR always REBLOG rather than LIKE, and use TAGS to comment!

Legit SO fucking true. And it only got WORSE with time. The only reason I even WANT it to stay *UP* is because 1. 10-50 friends aka the few ppl who havent left and are still actively posting are on there, and unlike most of my followers that are still on there, they actually care and 2. i want my studios (specifically Vocaronpa) to stay up because me n vinnie worked (and are STILL working) *SUPER* hard on that studio and, if it shuts down, we'll lose a lot of image & idea storage as well as comics we made and all our hard work and the time we have spent working on that studio. The only GOOD management they've done is banning Leafy, but she(??? their friend who actually HELPED kept reffering to them as she, so im assuming their pronouns are she/her) who got unbanned for like a month but never came back. Oka got banned for a WEEK for "riling up" a fucking whiny AL kid because of a mature JOKE in the DESCRIPTION of a COPYPASTA COMIC???? that was PART of that copypasta????? like omg. and cloudyy got all her comics removed and got her alt and herself banned because (and she DMed me this when I asked her) "I was told if I type in a banned users name and a random password i could see how long they are banned for, so then a bot banned me for ban evasion" ??? fucking ass moderation smh. syrup does NOTHING abt this site's shit, Kaz and Jay get away with *EVERYTHING* (and i *MEAN* ***EVERYTHING......***) and, most of the time, people ignore others' vents and posts in general and only seem to care abt themselves. had a "friend" block me bc of the Jay drama and block my alt when I tried to *calmly* ask if we could talk it out. theyre going on the DNI list with leafy n maki <333

Comic Studio is a hellhole, and ive been saying this for a year now,

I get banned for trying to defend my post from criticism. It might seem that i escalated it, but no, i didnt. I simply hit back from the backhanded insults i got. But, the bigger creator gets away scotfree. And thats just how cs runs. and its not fair, whatsoever. You just have to get lucky. People who make actually good content are just left in the dust, and 10% of the time they get actually recognised.

And, i know i did some fucked up shit, and i apologise. But. You cant just make fun of me and try to ridicule me and even tell me to fucking KILL MYSELF or make jokes about DOXXING ME, someones even GOT MY FUCKING IP. Its incredibly unfair. I checked up on the site and someone who is a severe harrasser and a transphobe got banned for a MONTH. Im banned PERMANENTLY. How is that fair in the slightest?? Its really just a hivemind to be honest.

why i love the sentiadrien theory.

(NOTE: this isn't a list of reasons why i believe the theory's true, i know that's already been talked about and debated a lot. these are just reasons i think it's a good twist in the story.)

it has the potential to be so powerful for adrien's character arc. whenever he finds a way to free himself, whether that's by getting a hold of his own amok, or even figuring out how to destroy his connection to it (personally i love the foil-miraculous theory so im rooting for the concept of a cool upgraded cataclysm), it'll be so meaningful as a symbol of overcoming abuse and finding freedom. ESPECIALLY if that comes in the image of using the power of destruction he was given to cataclysm his metaphorical shackles just like how he's cataclysmed physical cages and walls so many times throughout the show. just. the SYMBOLISM. chefs kiss

whenever mari/ladybug finds out about this, hopefully we'll get to see her go all Fierce Protector Mode to defend adrien/chat and encourage him that he's still an amazing and valid person (please?? this would be so cute????)

also since marinette, who holds the miraculous of creation, is known for her bravery, agency, and creativity- traits adrien as a senti never had a chance to have growing up- it gives more reason to root for her and adrien's relationship. she can help him heal, bring out his humanity and grow into himself. if that makes sense?? i read a rlly cool meta on this once but i forget who wrote it:(

it gives a meaningful reason for emilie's death. the plot of the show literally wouldn't exist if not for emilie dying (or falling into a coma if that's what you prefer), and it would be a bit anticlimactic to find out that the reason she died was because she just wanted to create, idk, robot assistants or a pet dog or something. whoever emilie created, she DIED for them, and so imo it only makes sense that the being she created was adrien, her child.

sentimonsters are such a good metaphor for abuse. since the show's for kids, it's hard to talk blatantly about heavy topics like abuse, but this lets them deal with it in a kid-friendly way. and i know this has been discussed already, but i don't think that using a magical metaphor lessens the gravity of the issue at all. as i saw someone point out, miraculous has always been a show that uses magical metaphors (akumas, superhero disguises, you name it) to talk about real-life issues both kids and adults deal with, and personally i think that's really beautiful.

it just..... honestly makes the show so much more interesting/dark/angsty???? in a way that's chillingly unexpected, but also makes so much narrative SENSE looking back on it, which i think we can all agree is the best kind of plot twist. personally as much as i love the lighthearted funny parts of the show (i do!!!), i've always been drawn to the contrast of its more tragic, epic-scale side (especially since seeing cat blanc aka my favorite episode lol). IM NOT EVIL I JUST LIKE PAIN, OK

all the potential for angsty fanarts/fics/other fanworks. i've seen quite a few of these but i know there's also a lot more out there i haven't seen yet, and i just love all the concepts that fans are exploring because of this theory.

i guess this isn't even my first time doing DTA book covers, I did these back in February

previously "designed" the cover of a children's book my brother's friends self-published but that was just placing text over a cartoon drawing of a bee someone drew. real career #moment

I don't think I've ever... "taken" a "design" class. (but DID ask for photoshop cs2 for my 12th birthday.) and i used to make a lot of Gifs and Graphics on here age 15 or so (one of jensen ackles got 1000 notes, baby!) etc so honestly. I Learnt at Tumblr University

but I HAVE previously "worked" "in" "design" in the way that social media officers get dragged into print design when no one else in the fucking office knows how to use the strict brand guideline templates to save their lives

so I mean. my point is it's very unfair to look at this and think like, idk. that I taught myself All That just for this project. I had a long head-start and other skills already! but on the flipside it's not. Insurmountable Prior Expertise. just practice! messing about!

what IS really, really, really new territory for me with these is how much I....made myself? I mean, everything's a gradated spectrum, all art is plagiarism design triply so, but anything I'd done before had been adding text over images or working within literal drag-drop style brand templates with specific fonts/colours, (OR: amv editing! which is a similar form of....editing together other things, without addition, necessarily) I really am not a creative person in terms of Sparks of Ideas, in drawing yourself or writing yourself, I'm All Editing, Baby!, and so.....starting just at thinking about the Thing I was working with, what people love about it and what people should have as a first impression of it, and taking all of that and...sounds stupid but i was like SCARED!!!! to MAKE/add things in that photoshop file BY MYSELF. it was still levels of copying eg soni's Le Guin mock-up is still visible in the end product, and the back covers are a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of an 80s sociology textbook where I saw a simple black stroke frame and thought "oh!". and there's stock textures for the creases and the plastic tape, and I didn't design the font myself — all those details, etc. The usual. But having something 60+ layers deep from me making little colour blocks or erasing or adding edited imagery outside a template or background stock to work off made me feel like I was out adrift in the open water without anything tying me back to land except The Text Itself and my love of it and how I saw it. whack!!!!!!! to create!

many, many people helped me with every step of the way. just "this is 1.11 leading this is 1.15 which looks less terrible" over and over and over again. i love them a lot for that. everybody needs that.

Im the list anon again and boy do I have more for you but this time I also have some questions as well if your time allows and you are willing to answer of course. First with the other things I loved:

1) the fact that Ron warmed up to Draco so quickly! I genuinely think thats so much in character. Ron is not a distrustful person and as a middle child as they come is very easygoing and would for sure make stupid jokes at Draco

2) The patronus. My god the Patronus. I seriously put the phone down and made a small slow clap during that chapter. At first I was like hmmmm *insert unsure kombucha girl face* because almost all fanfics have him with a dragon patronus and leave it at that (and lets be honest at this point my expectations of you were quite high dont blame me blame your bloody brilliant writing) but then, and I dont know if you did this on purpose or not (I have a feeling you did) but the fact that the dragon was the same (pale white) wounded but still feral dragon that Hermione FREEED (!) from a bank (£££) dungeon, malnourished and used for its nature, surrounded by darkness, wealth and misery!! And it was Hermione who broke its chains!!!!! Is just *chefs fucking kiss* slow clap*

3) the way you describe sex scenes are so natural! Ive never read a fanfic or book that doesnt make me gag a little bit (I am not a fan of smut at all but ill go with it because of a good story) until I read yours. Its so simple but yet intricate and you make the entire act so intriguing and normal and intimate. Bravo.

4) I LOVE SASHA. I love that Theo fell for her head over heels and the way you portrayd her reminded me of a friend of mine who works as a sous-chef in London so I always pictured her when reading it!

5) Dracos inner voice is ON POINT. Like I genuinely think you shoud own the rights to that character now.

6) Ill say it again. I love Ginny. You should also own the rights to her character too.

7) my interest for Quiddich (even when reading the books/wathcing the movies) was on par, if not lower than Hermiones. You managed to get me interested in that too so yes another slow clap to you

7.1) Also such a clever career for Draco!! Made si much sense!

Now to some questions

A) What was the deal with Malfoy referring to Ginny as Weasly and refusing to aknowledge her Potter surname. And why did everyone kept correcting him? It was hilarious granted but I wanted to know whether the reason you included this time and time again had to do wih something deeper? Or was this included as just a funny recurring joke?

B) Why did you choose for Draco to have a “fantasy” to produce a patronus and not for example for him to have had to do that after theyd exchanged “i love yous”. Very interesting angle and i liked that it was sort of a loophole to all the ‘death eaters cant have patronuses’ but quite curious on the thought process

C) Why did you opt for Draco to remove his mark? Do you think that stands as reward for him more or for Hermione? Very smart solution by the way

D) if you have the time- Could you please elaborate a tad more on what the soul-bonding means? Why was it so taboo? At furst hand it seems like a very romantic/amazing thing to do with your partner right?

Lastly- Do you ever itch to make a second part to this? And in the most acceptable case that you dont, I always wondered what you had in mind for them in the future- because of the soul bonding thing, you mentioned that the generational curses will be erased, which means I guess that the Malfoys can have more than one child now, and girls as well. (I cannot believe im asking for this as I am the one to avoid any pregnancy fanfics but) do you imagine them with children and if yes, how many? How do they integrate muggle devices(I know youd agree wit me that Hermione would definitively bring some muggle stuff over!) and which devices would Draco really secretly like?

2.) Regarding your beautiful analysis of my specific dragon breed for Draco’s patronus: How many points would you like for your Hogwarts house of choice? I will add that according to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the Ironbelly’s scales are normally a metallic grey. I will also add that I subscribe more to book canon than movie canon. In the book version of events of the Gringotts escape, Harry breaks the chains and Hermione (with eventual help once the boys catch on) destroys the ceiling so it can have a way out. The partially blind dragon does the rest of the work on its own.

3.) Thank you, that’s very flattering.

4.) Does your friend also get you into fancy restaurants and can they make salted caramel bread pudding???

5.) Thank you, it was one of my favorite aspects of writing this story.

7.) Haha, I felt so validated by that line of dialogue in Cursed Child when Draco tells Harry he wanted to play quidditch professionally, but wasn’t good enough.

Now to some answers:

A.) It’s definitely a recurring joke. It’s up to the reader to interpret Draco’s actions here: is he doing it to be a massive troll? Or is he genuinely not retaining the information of her married name because he considers this fact so unimportant that he does not bother to keep it in his brain? Troll, snob, or both, you can decide!

B.) I’ll address the second part of this first, because it was not intended as a loophole. I 1000% do not understand the “death eaters can’t have patronuses” thing. It makes absolutely no sense. Snape has a Patronus. But beyond that… Umbridge has a Patronus (a cat). If we’re letting that woman have a Patronus, then yeah, I think Draco can cast one. As for the vision that Draco used to conjure it… up to you whether that’s a fantasy or a glimpse of a certain ritual actually working. Draco’s thoughts on the matter: “An image of such striking tangibility that he might have already lived it, or perhaps experienced time in such a way that he lived it now.”

C.) I wanted Draco to have a choice, obviously a recurring theme for him in RN. For my characterization of him, that symbol on his arm causes him nothing but shame and self-loathing (see the end of chapter 36 during his heart-to-heart with Hermione). He’d already exercised almost every known avenue to rid himself of it before Hermione entered his life (he lists these in chapter 44). Hermione already loved him (and has told him so) by the time she’s figured out how to remove it: “I love the man you are today and I will love that man tomorrow, bare forearm or not. I simply wanted you, for once, to have the choice. It’s your body.”

D.) Ooh anon, you are tempting me here. I really hate to be coy, but you might see some future writing on this very topic.

I can at least answer the taboo part: I think soul magic in general (horcruxes, the use of unicorn blood) is quite taboo in the HP universe. As no one knows what happens after death (not even ghosts, Nearly Headless Nick says as much when Harry asks him point-blank in OoTP) I think most magical folk would think the intense ritual (blending magical cores) an unnecessary thing anyway. As Draco explains in chapter 48, since no one actually knows the effects or if it works, it’s considered a bit over-the-top since it’s probably futile anyway. It is also not a Vow with a death component; Narcissa is obviously alive in this story even though Lucius is already dead. I wrote the generational curse protection theory in as a dig at Cursed Child for the way they handled Astoria’s character.

The idea of it I think is romantic, but I will stress it is very dependent upon the intent of the two participants. To quote Draco in chapter 48 again: “To twine one’s soul to another showed a willingness to not only physically tether one’s self during your time here on earth, but to commit to a blending of your magical cores, putting faith in your magic to recognize its bonded counterpart in another life. Should other lives even exist.”

If you re-read Draco’s experience during the bonding ceremony in chapter 51 (starting from this bit: “The cognizance of his own powers never felt sharper, more familiar, but suddenly another power pulsed within to join with his.”) you might find it bears a resemblance to the trajectory of their relationship.

Lastly- I’ve left Draco and Hermione to their wedded bliss. I’ve got nothing planned for them beyond where they are in the final lines of chapter 51. I don’t have that itch to write more into their future because it would feel forced. Draco laid out his two envisioned futures with Hermione in chapter 48 when they discuss having or not having children. They are happy and content in the life they chose together. That’s all I ever wanted for them.

Arthur and the Invisibles (2007) is a one of the worst movies I’ve ever watched

I remembered watching this movie as a kid and felt pretty nostalgic about it. While scrolling for a movie to watch today, me and my bf ran into it and wanted to see if the movie lived up to how cool we remembered it from our childhood.

So for quick plot summary for those who don’t know what this movie is: Arthur is this 10 year old boy living with his grandmother in the countryside. He occupies himself with grandpa’s studies of small creatures (called the Minimoys) in their backyard. It’s also explained that his grandfather earned rubies as a gift from helping out this one African tribe, and hid it in the backyard (presumably with those creatures). 

His grandfather, however, disappeared and his grandmother is in deep debt. Some guy in a suit pressures them that he will own their land if the grandfather doesn’t come back and they don’t pay their debt in 2 days. Arthur finds the secret his grandfather was hiding and finds a way to get to the miniature, underground world of the Minimoys with the help of the African Tribe (who lives somewhere in their backyard I guess???). 

The rest of the movie is about the journey he takes with the Minimoys to find the rubies (and fight the bad guys who have it) and eventually find his grandfather (who was a prisoner from that bad guy). Grandpa comes back and they pay back their debt with the rubies, happy ending yay the end. 

SO excusing the eerily-looking animation and how gross it made me feel (I’m mostly talking about the numerous giant-sized insects they animated with high detail)...

...the content in this movie is completely trash. Throughout the whole movie, the PACING WAS SO RUSHED AND TERRIBLE. This went for both the pacing of the plot and dialogue!! Things escalated so quickly, from one thing to the next, event-wise and with how characters felt about one another. Like you dont even know,, things happened SO FAST. And this was mostly a result of how choppy and quick the dialogue was. THEY TALKED LIKE A BAD ANIME DUB, one line after the next after the next after the next. And basically all their lines were exposition or them explaining things (like what they were holding, what they were doing, etc)?? 

OH and the love interest... the love interest. 

Right off the bat, her personality was mildly irritating.. Her personality summarized is the stereotypical “I’m not like other girls, i don’t need you to protect me” kind of girl. And personally, I’m all for girls being independent,, like power to girls!!  The problem with her is the constant remarks she makes to remind the audience that she’s “not like other girls and doesnt need protecting.” I’m sure that 80% of her dialogue in this movie is a sarcastic line towards someone that radiates negative energy. It’s just not the type of character you’d want to watch on screen because of how negative they sound. (Then as you’d expect because tropes, she becomes softer after falling in love with Arthur)

IMPORTANT THING ABOUT THE ROMANCE IN THIS MOVIE THAT MADE ME UNCOMFORTABLE: So the protag is 10 years old (I’m assuming but he looks and sounds 10). Love-interest-princess acts like she is mentally 16-18, but she’s actually 1000 years old. But it’s “okAY” because 1000 years in her world is actually 10 years in the human world. She’s voiced by Madonna by the way, if that adds anymore to image I’m trying to describe. idk man, i was just super uncomfortable seeing this girl open-mouth kiss this 10 year old kid TWICE in this movie (she initiates BOTH times).

OH and they get married after knowing each other for a day and arthur becomes king i guess

Arthur touched love-interest-princess’ chest and then took the lace off of her top, making her let out this weird scream. She has to cover her chest for the rest of the time until she gets the lace back

The jokes were tasteless and inappropriate for a children’s movie. There were just SO MANY moments that made me feel super uncomfortable (whether it was a joke or not). My bf and I seriously had to question if we were watching a kid’s movie. 

They had a scene where they drank this green smokey drink at a club with Snoop Dog (LITERALLY IM NOT JOKING THISGUYISVOICEDBYSNOOPDOG) and green smoke came out of their mouths

Also Snoop Dog hits on love-interest-princess who is an obvious minor, and flexes that he has 7 wives

Arthur underage smoking:

Arthur’s parents come back to visit (cuz they've been away for a while) and his dad was scared of the African Tribe staying by their house. The dad runs away to the grandma and she asks “what’s wrong” then he says “five..” Grandma responds with “five what?” then he plain out screams “BLACK” with exaggerated gestures. uh EXCUSE ME????

im sure the african tribe stereotype this movie was depicting was pretty offensive in itself too...

And there was a scene where the bad guy (voiced by David Bowie) explained why he was evil. Apparently it was because people thought he was ugly and because he kissed some insect that made him contract ugly disease while he was drunk (he actually says he was drunk and the way he talked made it seem like it was equivalent to a one night stand)

and lastly, just a little nitpick but i HATE this guy’s voice (he’s the bad guy’s son). He sounds like a horrible Eggman impersonator with a lisp and with rocks stuffed down his throat. I’m sure with every word he says, saliva flies out of his mouth. 

Yeah I guess you have to acknowledge it was 2007, but you can’t deny this movie is still very uncomfortable to sit through and it does not excuse some of the things that happened here.

So uh overall.. bad movie is bad and I had a bad time. You can watch it if you want to experience what I had to. I won’t stop you. 

I was gonna write about the sequel on here, but I think I’ve written enough. I’ll save that for a different post if I feel like it. Just know that the sequel ends with a Kidz Bop-styled cover of Poker Face by Lady Gaga that chants the bad guy’s name in the beginning of the song (in the link they pitched the audio but it doesn’t change how bad the song is so its ok)

My Journey With Jackson Wang

For Jackson's birthday this year, I've decided to share why Jackson's birth is so important to me personally. I'll walk through the emotional journey that ensued once Jackson entered my life.

Fun Beginnings

It all started when I decided to explore more kpop groups than just Bigbang. The last month of 2016, I discovered GOT7, the group that sang A and Hard Carry. I learned they were having a comeback very soon, so I studied up everything I could on them. The member that caught my eye was Jackson Wang.

Beneath the Surface

I won't pretend I had this amazing ability to go beyond what was shown to me. Not at first. I saw Jackson as the biggest goofball in the group. He was loud and fun and extra. Honestly I thought every GOT7 member was fun and crazy, but Jackson in particular stood out to me. Then, I found this moment.

When Jackson burst into tears and collapsed into his Mom and Dad's arms. As an empathetic cryer, I was obviously using my sleeves to dry my own eyes. That was when I realized there was more to Jackson than the compilation videos were showing. After studying up from some good Jackson fans, I learned he was a gentleman, he had a soft side, he likes compliments and attention from his members, he had olympic level athleticism. These were all nice things to learn, but things only got deeper from there.

Stanning in 2017

Flight Log: Arrival era. My first GOT7 comeback. Poor Jackson got sick for a little while. When he returned, I saw how everyone welcomed him back so warmly. I remember seeing GOT7 joined Monsta X backstage- who I was also im the process of stanning- while reacting to their performance at a music show and everyone just seemed so happy for him to be there. They all loved each other. Jackson got along with basically every idol. Jackson must be very loved.

As I continued to stan, I learned just how good of a person he was. Stories from his past showed that Jackson was the kind person to care for complete strangers as close friends. He cared for elderly women who felt lonely or neglected. He spent hours talking with someone who was too depressed to live another day. He stood up for fans that may be jostled by security, even if it was ultimately for his protection. He made sure the women in his workspace were comfortable and respected. He shook hands and made contact with every person involved in working alongside him. He thanked God for his success in his letters. To me, Jackson seemed to be nothing short of a complete angel. Who could deny it?

Then, Jackson announced his solo career. That was when I saw things how they really were. The amount of hate that I witnessed towards Jackson was crushing for me. So imagine how bad it was for him. Physically, mentally, I saw him hit a wall. People were telling him what kind of music he was and wasn't capable of. They spread lies about him. Then they wondered why he stopped smiling as much.

They only saw him as a comedian or a joke. I just couldn't believe someone I thought was so wonderful was so despised. He was human. He may make mistakes, but he made an effort to correct them. No matter what, he still had feelings. He wasn't a robot or a clown. He could get tired. He could hurt. This was when I decided that I was going to be a ride or die Jackson fan. Because someone so kind and talented didn't deserve anything but love and to be supported for his dreams. I wanted to give it to him.

The Jacky Life

There was a lot of ups and downs after this. Jackson started Team Wang. This is where I saw a new side of Jackson. The hardworking Jackson, in real time. He showed the world his work ethic as he began to work from the ground up to make Team Wang a strong label. Through every release and every appearance he made, he gave 1000% of his effort. To the point where fans were afraid he was going to push himself too hard. He went through endless performances, intense dance competitions, long variety show shoots while enduring exhaustion, anemia, back pain, mental illness all without a complaint or a sign of lessening his passion for his art. I was so concerned, often breaking into tears over my worry. I didn't know what to do to let him know we were proud of him, we supported him, it was ok to rest. But I understood his mindset. He wanted to be taken seriously. He wanted people to see what he was capable of. He wanted the world to see him as Jackys already did. Then one day, it clicked for him. He stopped focusing on what negativity came his way. He learned and grew from it, and focused on improving himself. It was an amazing journey to witness.

It Gets Personal

Jackson continued to blast off as a solo artist, and participate in GOT7, all of which gained immense success. But then it was my turn to hit a wall. In my own life, I'd had doors slammed in my face over and over again, wearing me down more and more. I couldn't move forward. It seemed I wasn't meant to achieve my dreams. I started to kill my own dreams and believe they weren't meant to be pursued. My self worth and hope plummeted. Then Jackson's brand began to grow. "Know Yourself. Make Your Own History." He began to give more and more insight on how he left behind a secure future of olympic fencing to pursue his dreams. He talked about taking risks, learning from failure, not having regrets and at least trying to make your dreams come true. And these weren't just empty words for Jackson. He was living proof. I actually witnessed him rise like a phoenix from the ashes as he began to manage his health better, released his first album Mirrors, launch his own fashion brand, all while remaining his remarkably humble self. Other artists from all over the world flocked to be participants in his career. In his music, he expressed what his fans' support meant to him, and in his interviews he gives Jackys so much credit for getting him where he is now. It felt unreal to be acknowledged by someone I admired so much, and to hear someone who seems so out-of-my-league successful and talented encourage me to do the same. To say it so much that I truly believe he wants us to reach all of our dreams.

Team Wang For Life

For me, being a fan of Jackson Wang is beyond just liking his music. It's a source of love and motivation that I often have trouble giving myself. I see Jackson Wang as a blessing and a guide for me to help me take steps in my life I would've been afraid to were it not for Jackson's words and actions. So I'm extremely grateful for his existence on this earth and his decision to be a goodhearted and determined human being. His birthday is a day that I go back and think about everything he is and appreciate it.

Happy birthday Jackson Wang. Your journey so far has helped me in so many ways, and I will support you in whatever way I can. Thank you for making your presence on this earth so impactful. To me, you truly are a king, that I will continue to love through the ups and downs of this world. You're never alone.

BRAINWASHING CHILDREN THEORY

Now I’m warning you the next theory is pretty dark and probably one of the most unsettleing ones we have talked about in this Blog.

This theory starts with subliminal msgs in kids shows.

SUBLIMAL MESSAGES

By far Spongebob square pants has the most messages that are clearly hidden in grown ups.

There’s jokes about prison “Don’t Drop Them”

Those are all just jokes, clearly hidden for adults

But there are lot of jokes, some involves suicide.

In a 2001 episode , squidward is being sad the entire time. There is scenes of him walking around dazed stage. There is a scene of him putting in a oven. By far the most darkest moment of them all is sponge bob looks after him thinking his okay. And then he’s says “at least we know he’s alive”. Yeah that might be the darkest line I have ever read in a kids cartoon show. There are plenty of suicidal messages left in other episodes. As I was looking more into it , I found out suicide was in a lot of cartoon tv shows. The ending of looney tunes.this one really gave me chills down spine, in one of the cartoon characters from looney tunes jumping off the bridge shouting “IM FREE”. Once again glorifying suicide. And its not just these clips. Bunny , Daffy Duck, woody woodpecker, daisy and a bunch of cartoon characters ending their life with gun for no reason. the strangest of them all how they made it look exciting to kids.There is a cartoon where mickey gets depressed over Minnie. In that cartoon 3 ways of killing yourself is shown gun, petroleum and for some reason jumping off a bridge. Now I’m not saying this to scare you or not to watch cartoon. These are all just theories none of them are “facts” and they are not meant to hurt anyone/anything. I mean the daisy cartoon where daisy is shown depressed , in that cartoon almost 5 ways of killing yourself is shown and poured into youngsters mind. Gun, grenade ,knife, hanging and bomb.

THEORY(just speculations)

Now why would they put suicide on younger generations brain some people think control of over growth of population, some people think to keep society weak and depressed and fearful state. Because the more younger you are between 1 - 5 years your brain develops and everything you see on your favourite cartoon shows killing themself and also make it exciting. The more society, the more power control over weak society. Think about it kids are depressed , we’re medicating them and putting them on pills and sitting in front of TV while their watching their favorite cartoon character kill themself and also making it seem exciting to kids. I mean the global antidepressant market is estimated over 11.6 BILLION dollars. The government and the economy love depression. We also glorify things like money, fame, success. And of course if we can’t afford things we were told it will set us “free”. That’s why back of our heads teens think suicide is an option. YES , people have severe depression,OCD ,suicidal thoughts me too included in the past. But it is wondering who started all of these negative energy. Think about it your child entertainer Logan Paul filming a dead body in the suicide forest. The nickelodeon shows who show unessasacery content to kids.it involves talking about feet a lot. Even think about the board game which targeted to us as kids.

“THE GAME OF LIFE”. The goal is to succeed or you’ll lose. To win the game of life you need to make money. You should be better than those who are playing against you. Literally the commercial says “Be A Winner in the Game of Life”. I MEAN , COME ON. And the original version of the game of life in 1860 ,created by Milton Bradley ,it literally had suicide on the board as a option. Now its not just suicide being poured into kids pure brain.there’s darkness in every single form. I mean think about the games we used to play as kids. I mean just google “Ring around the Rosie meaning”A rosy rash, they allege, was a symptom of the plague, and posies of herbs were carried as protection and to ward off the smell of the disease. Sneezing or coughing was a final fatal symptom, and "all fall down" was exactly what happened. Again a another event where people die and has shown as exciting to kids. London Bridge. A song about a huge bridge falling down.“London Bridge is Falling Down” could be about a 1014 Viking attack, child sacrifice, or the normal deterioration of an old bridge. But the most popular theory seems to be that first one. More specifically: the alleged destruction of London Bridge at the hands of Olaf II of Norway sometime in the early 1000s. There’s even a darker line singing iron parts will bend and break , bend and break.

Ouija board, a game that makes fun to contact evil spirits in your house.Twister , a game that is marketed to tight teenagers up and down. Imagine the creepy uncles wanna play the game at thanksgiving.and then we have the darkest of them all Hangman , game where you have to choose the correct word or your little stick figure gets hanged. And the darkest part of them all is that , this classroom game is actually based on real life game in the 18th century, prisoners that were sentenced to death by hanging should guess the word, the exicutioner will give and if they guess the word right they’ll live or if not death. The most messed up part of all of this ,that almost all of the prisoners were illiterate which means they didn’t have a chance , that game was to just publicly humiliate them before they died.

NURSERY RHYMES

And it’s not just games which have a darker turn , what’s the first thing you remember as a kid, nursery rhymes. rock bye baby , a song which a baby’s cradle is in the branch of a tree and the branch breaks and the baby falls to the ground. Humpty Dumpty , he sat on a wall and suddenly “had a great fall” and nobody can save him because he’s dead.”its raining and pouring” a song where a old man hits his head on the wall and then dies, “he couldn’t get up in the morning “

Now one of the most disturbing is Peter peter pumpkin eater. A song about a guy who he’s wife doesn’t want him and puts her in a pumpkin and again, song which normalizes holding women against your will. I mean looking back at London bridge there’s a reference to something along the lines of “LOCK HER UP,LOCK HER UP” “LOCK HER UP,LOCK HER UP “(lyrics from London bridge).

INTERNET

Now on the internet kids start watching YouTube kids but don’t worry there’s bunch of dark messages hidden there. Murder,suicide, violence and for some reason lot of vomiting. Then when you’re a teenager you watch plenty of violence movies, tv shows and now internet challenges like momo challenge and blue whale challenge.

DISCUSSION

Everyone on society questions how much evil, death, hatred, depresssion, destruction but do we even have to question it? By looking back at our childhoods what was being put into us and right in front of our eyes. So what’s the overall theory ,”the way to keep a society in large is by fear, chaos ,the only way to make vote for them is to through destruction”” the only way to unite is through tragedies.”

“The only way to keep people happy , is by showing constant realistic expections that don’t really matter”” money, success”. The society that’s peaceful is not a society that can never be controlled.

CONCLUSION(spreading awareness)

So ,what do you do to make sure that chaos doesn’t appear continuously , well make sure to SHOW children how scary and dark the world is at very young age.

Something about art repost

I really need somewhere to vent, so I’m sorry Tumblr.

These days I’m having a lot of problems with the art reposting. I never cared too much if the person who did it gave me credits, and I allowed it. But a few days ago I reached my limit and said to PLEASE don’t repost my drawings anywhere. Why that change of mind? Because that went too far and people started to repost everything without credits. When it just once, you say "well, its ok", but when nobody bothers to do it, it’s frustrating.

When I said that on Instagram I had a problem with someone who started to say nonsense. You can be against repost or not, I  can accept that. But with valid argument.

But the problem has arrived today on Facebook. I'm in a quite large Danganronpa group, which reposts my drawings (AN LOTS OF ARTISTS WORKS), without credits. Sometimes they do it, but 90% of the time they upload lots of images without caring where they come from. I never said anything to them and I let it pass.Until a couple of days ago, they shared a post of one of my drawings that was on another group, writting in the main comment my name as "Chris-chan.".When I left a comment to correct them saying that it was "Criiis-chan", they told me that "it was a joke" (obviously many of us know from where.) Joke that is not funny to me anymore, besides that you devalue my work giving “””credits””” to another person. I got really upset, so today when I saw that they were posting another of my drawings without credits, I said that I didn’t allow reposts and that I was not comfortable with it, to please delete the post.  I was told that there was nothing against the rules and he laughed at me, saying “noone was gonna die for not posting my art” which frustrated me even more so I opened them a DM. Saying that due to this lack of respect towards me I wanted them to take down all my drawings from that group. To which the admin has told me that it was the first time that an artist complained about art reposting, and I’ve been giving him my point of view and asking respect to the artists.

He had another point of view, so he told me that he didn’t have time for this, that he was going to delete my drawings of the group and that he was going to ban me to avoid more conflicts. And indeed, without letting me say anything, he banned me. And then he made a post adding the link to this Tumblr saying that I do not accept reposts.

They also said I got banned because I threatened them, when I just said I was gonna report that previous post that had no credits. 

What  happened from here is that  people in the comments start laughing at me. And there was even people saying “no one’s gonna repost ur art cause is generic tumblr art” (?????????if you don’t like my art why did you keep posting it? dunno).

The only thing I asked for was respect. Respect for people who creates content. Respect for people who dont want their art to be reposted on another sites, and specially  without credits. But seems like this caused some people laugh because "without reposts nobody sees you", "we dont earn money so there’s nothing bad about repost". Sorry, but I rather prefer my art to be seen by just 1 person, than someone who reposted it getting it seen by 1000 when mine is still being seen by 1. Because honestly, people dont usually bother go to artists real medias when they see their art reposted. People lefts a like on the reposted drawing and then leave. It doesn’t benefit us at all. 

Obviously, there will be someone who finds artists like that, but most people leave a like and leave.

Please. We only ask respect for artists who do not want their drawings to be reposted.

hi it’s ava!! (duh. who else would b on this account) im gonna post this up now bc i have hella inspo for sunny. I think changing her fc really did help me after all and I have a better understanding!! yay for that. alright.. so i realize maybe I loss inspo w sunny was bc I never sat down and took the time to express who she is. sO THIS IS 1000 years late. I kno

anyways  !! let us start off with her parents and her backstory of why she chose to be an idol.

Her parents are former idols/actress and are still active in the entertainment industry. so she understood from a very young age how cutthroat and rewarding being an entertainer  is. hence why she’s very determined and always give 110%

but they never pushed her to follow in their footsteps. (she’s p sure they hoped she would be a doctor or sm shit like that but she always loved singing and being the center of attention) for a good 8 or 10 years, she didn’t even know her parents were famous. lol

her dad especially tried to shield her from everything and wanted sunny to enjoy her childhood. which is why she spent a lot of time in busan with her cousin (s/o ilwoo) and in secret.

when she was old enough to know about her parents, it didn’t really change anything  except for the fact she got bullied. 

sunny was a chunkier babygirl and she didn’t realize it until middle school. she got picked on a lot for it. and when students saw her gorgeous parents, they got meaner about it saying they created an ugly child. jus nasty things to her. it was a bad time for sunny yall. 

but she’s a strong girl and she knew they were all just stupid doodoo heads. she just used the bullying as motivation to change herself for the better. (but her dun fucked her up mentally)

she knew she could sing and had a great voice but never thought she could make it as a singer. it wasn’t until she was in a band that she saw how much talent she really had. she started seeing that she defintely had the qualities of being an idol. it wasn't her dream like everyone else she knew, but she had the talent so why not share it.

chose bce bc they fit her standards and knew her life as an idol would be in “good hands”

didn’t expect to take on the rapper position but she gives it her all and really enjoys it !!! (she just wished ppl knew that she actually has  amazing vocals.)

also wants to dabble more in acting,, she’s addicted after filming weightlifting fairy kim bok joo

she’s a quiet person, but once she talks, it’s full of aegyo.

like yeah she be acting cold and distant but she’s very considerate and take care of the members.

she’s v much introvert though... ik, who would’ve guessed? also an aries? introvert. wow sounds fake. but I mean this in the sense that she keeps her feelings to herself type of thing n doesn’t open !! she’s not the most sociable person at first but she likes being around the right ppl nd she can actually party ok. 

i think shes more cautious bc she was bullied and sees everyone as??? malicious and fake. she doesn’t trust easily. she’s always on defense mode i feel. bc she doesn’t want to get walked on like she did when she was younger !! young sunny was a sweet kid that wanted to share her snacks nd shit. but ppl had to ruin that lil girl

also w boyz she’s also been the friend/tomboy growing up so a lot of the time they saw her as one of the pals,, but when she glowed tf up she loves that attention. she likes being a tease and being flirty. but she also loves love. she just self sabotages any type of deep connections sometimes though. committment?? scares her. she doesn’t kno why though....... or does she. 

people joke around, saying that sunny is a heartbreaker, but they’re not necessarily wrong. it could be a fear of attachment, commitment, or both, but when relationships come into play, she can’t do it. similar to her stance on emotions, it’s hard for her to have something serious. in theory, the idea of loving someone romantically sounds nice to her, but in reality, it’s difficult. she doesn’t know if it’s because she stresses about her public image, the inability to settle, or some other internal fear, but despite the fact that she would like a relationship, she just can’t. oftentimes when she makes a new guy friend, she gets nervous that they might develop feelings for her. most of the time when they do, she slowly detaches herself from them, becoming more distant, texting less often. sunny once went on a date with one of them, hoping that, maybe, she could allow this to turn into something. she liked the feeling of affection, she liked the attention she got from him, but after the date, she ceased communication. she avoided him in person. she couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her, if anything.

another thing is this girl could literally get into an argument abt anything, she’s sensitive and emotional but she can also be v emotionless at the same time?? she’s honestly wild & is rlly impulsive so she doesn’t rlly think before she speaks or does things sometimes

she’s a pretty chill person and honestly sunny can either be the nicest person u’ve ever met or the devil there’s no in between tbh but besides that she’s a very passionate and determined person n if she rlly strongly believes in something she’ll get worked up over it & bc of that she’s also super stubborn

she presents herself in a way that appears put together n certain, but the few she puts her faith in have picked up on the fact that she’s more lost than ever.

despite the fact that sunny experiences a lot of emotions, she has no idea how to handle them. this ranges from masking how she really feels with sarcasm to attempting to change the topic or facing it head on. she can become v blunt. in some cases, she doesn’t have the ability to take things all that seriously. this causes problems when she’s at fault. sunny is the type of person that says that she’s trying to improve herself but never really changes due to being stubborn. it’s hard for her to apologize when she knows the other party did nothing wrong & she was the one who hurt the other. she can’t face the people she hurts, so she just avoids having to confront them, which brings me to the next bullet point.

sunny is quite self-aware, & she acknowledges her faults, but she doesn’t do anything about them. she also acknowledges the fact that she doesn’t do anything about them & lies to herself about the fact that she’s trying to change. it’s a bit paradoxical, really nevertheless, she is generally a friendly person as long as you don’t make her uncomfortable.
