ok i have an update/question for people who are following me from the Heartstopper fandom or are aware of and interested in the series I've been planning on doing for Heartstopper

the update: I've started taking notes on the series, but series like this one are very time-consuming and take dozens of hours to finish. I recently decided to try to log off tumblr for all of next semester, which means I would have to finish the whole series before school starts, which is soon, while I'm also working 2 part time jobs. That is not an easy thing to do.

I'm also thinking since the next season comes out in a couple months and the series will take a month to post (1 of 4 posts each week), it might be better to just wait and write it with s3 taken into account after it comes out. I don't want to spend days' worth of time on the series and stress myself out to post it on time just to have a point i make immediately negated by the next season.

so, the question: would you rather i finish it now or wait until s3 comes out and add that onto the series?

Accountability check-in post 9-28-24

Off of work today. Which SHOULD have meant getting shit done. I ended up sleeping until a quarter to 9. But, anyway...

Today I accomplished:

Did a garbage run. (Yes, this will find its way onto my list far too often. Just KEEPING my room clean seems to be asking too much of me)

Finally put last week's laundry away.

Did a small purge of clothes, but realized that I need to clean in front of my closet before I actually organize my closet. I'm totally counting that realization as an accomplishment, because it at least gives me my next step in this whole cleaning and organizing project.

Finished Maddie's character sheet. 1,668 words today. And created a new secondary character who just might end up being the FMC of book 3 of this series. (Book 2 will be Maddie's sister Jessie. Unless I make Nancy next and Jessie 3rd.) I really like what I have. It needs some tweaking, but I can do that as I go.

Finished rewatching season 1 of Heartstopper in preparation for season 3 coming out next week. (So excited for this show. Judging by the trailer, it's gonna be an angst-fest and I am so here for it.)

Read 52 pages in The Unexpected Duchess. I really am loving this book, for all that it may not seem like it with how slowly I'm reading it. I have about a hundred pages left. I'll write a review when I'm done.

Ended up not getting anything done on my revision. I have no excuses for that one.

Top 5 shows of the last five years that do not feature our man!

I LOVE THIS. Okay, right. Just know TLOU would feature so heavily if it were allowed.

1) The Serpent - I think you can find it on Netflix but I watched it as it came out week by week on the BBC here in the UK and I have never felt so enthralled by TV as I did with that. There were moments where I genuinely couldn’t look at the screen it was so tense!

2) Becoming Elizabeth - if there’s one thing you need to know about me, it’s that I’m going to DEVOUR a period drama, specifically set in the Tudor era. I just finished this not long ago and just? Loved it?

3) House of the Dragon - filled the GoT shaped hole in my heart - for real one of the only shows I’ve properly binged watched in ages, I loved it from start to finish!

4) NORMAL PEOPLE. The book was good okay BUT THE SHOW? Holy fuck it ripped me in two. I will love Connell and Marianne until the DAY I DIE they were made for each other.

5) Heartstopper - still need to catch up on season two but omg this is so cute? It’s wholesome but actually tackled some really important issues too? I just loved it so very much!

like literally i dont think any one piece of media has ever made me so joyful! It just just so beautiful. Visually its so pretty, thematically it toes (tows?) the line of realistic and comforting really well (at least for me), the acting is incredible - especially considering the age of the actors, and the constant unapolagetic queerness that is so obvoiusly written by queer people is so refreshing and just .. nice to see. Nick saying 'im bi, actually' so many times was heartwarming and - as someone who is bi themself - it was so nice to see that the only time the usual bi stereotypes were presented was through nicks anxiety (and also ben). I am so scared to see where they take nick's self worth in regards to his 'similarities' to ben bc i don't want to see him sad. I had already read the comics so it was so cool to see how effective this adaptation is continuing to be. the final few scenes of episode 6 have altered me as a human being and are like a visual form of pure nostalgia and comfort. the taylor song in there is so gorgeous. and speaking of songs the entire soundtrack was perfect (like they understand the vibe and the target audience) and had me doing the leo dicaprio pointing meme constantly. I also watched both seasons several times in the last few weeks and probably will rewatch for the rest of my life tbh. I cannot wait for the next season. anyway yea

I 100% agree I just watch this show or read the comics and I am smiling uncontrollably and just feel so warm and comforted and happy it's insane!! It's so beautiful to see something that feels so genuine and it's awkward but sweet and even seeing the changes and growth of all the characters from season 1 to season 2 feels so realistic!

Nick Nelson saying "I'm bi, actually" about seven times in S2 is literally so accurate and I felt so validated by that because it's so real (also as a fellow bisexual) to have to continually justify your sexuality depending on who you're in a relationship with. The queer rep is just wonderful and can I just say that Isaac's journey this season was one of my favourites and the way I screamed when he went back into the library and claimed the ace book at the end 🤌

Anyone who hurts Nick Nelson or makes him feel sad must endure my wrath! I want to put him in my pocket and protect him from all the sad in the world he is so sweet and caring and kind to Charlie, I hate seeing him compare himself to Ben but I love the way they showed that yes the situation was similar but he was so different because he cared about how his coming out made Charlie feel too and they literally talked and communicated, it was fucking beautiful.

And the whole hickey shenanigans from Charlie noticing it (or lbh from when Buck gave it to him) was so funny and realistic and just that episode was perfection (I'm saying this like all episodes weren't 😅)

The Taylor song scene literally did things to my heart, I felt that scene physically, and you are so right the whole soundtrack is perfect! I mean, Taylor aside you have girl in red, Conan Gray, Gabrielle Aplin, wolf Alice, Holly humberstone, Miya folick like so many more I am obsessed with the soundtrack! And have you listened to the "to Nick from Charlie" playlist based on the mixed tape from vol 1? It's literally also a vibe and has Hayley kiyoko (my beloved) and Troye Sivan (I was JUST SAYING that his blue neighbourhood album is so heartstopper coded and wild is one of the tracks 😭)

My life currently consists of:

Return from work and watch reels from the show / rewatch episodes

Read more comic (trying to spread it out so I get more but I am failing)

Constantly think about all of them until I fall asleep

8 Shows to Get to Know Me

The rules seem pretty simple, just to list 8 shows to get to know me. Some people have explanations and some don't so we'll see.

There are many shows I wanted to add on this list because I love them so much but this isn't a list of my favorite shows. This is supposed to tell something about me. So I tried to pick the shows that I relate to, was obsessed with, used to watch as a kid or just for the ✨ vibes ✨

1. Koisenu Futari

This is one show I relate to the most because I'm aroace. Both Sakuko and Takahashi are aroace and want to live together because they feel lonely by themselves. It's a really great show that just has 2 people figure out how to make their own version of a family in a world where everyone expects you to marry and have children. People like us can feel lost as to what the future might look like because there isn't a path we can follow. Nobody tells us what a happy life might look like if you don't have and don't want a partner so Sakuko and Takahashi are new to this form of family they're trying to create. They want to create something that works for them but nobody around the has similar lives so they have to figure it out all on their own.

2. Bad Buddy

I'm not gay or bi or pan, I'm aroace which means that while I love BL, I don't really relate to it so I didn't want to put many on this list. But Bad Buddy was such a great experience that it deserves a place on this list. This show aired episodes weekly and I love love love everything we did during the week we had to wait for a new episode. People were analyzing Everything from the colors to the dialogue to the music. And I read every single post. Every Friday I would mute the Clown Server on Discord until I could watch the episode. I love how we all talked about the new episode for hours. I would come home and watch the episode and we would still be talking about new points even when I went to bed. Even in the morning I would wake up to new messages. It was amazing.

3. Kieta Hatsukoi / My Love Mix-Up!

A BL that is not often on anyone's favorites list but it is on mine. The leads don't kiss but that doesn't really matter to me because it's a really cute show. It's the way Aoki and Hashimoto have the best friendship and support each other even when they thought they liked the same guy. It's how Ida doesn't understand love and is figuring that out very respectfully. He's really giving Aoki a real chance. He's trying to figure out if he likes Aoki without any moment of internalized homophobia. And also he's demiro in my book and I love him for that.

4. Heartstopper

I love love love the Heartstopper comic. I read it and reread it and rereread it even before the show was even announced. The show itself was everything I hoped for and it was amazing and perfect. I love Isaac of course who is our aroace icon. I'm so glad Alice decided to put him in the group since she had to erase Aled (love you). The second season has apparently big aroace plans for him so excited about that! I love the friendship in this show, they're all so sweet and lovely. I love Nick and Charlie who have such a good, healthy relationship. I love Nick's mom and how she supports her son.

5. Yuri On Ice

Yes we were born to make history! Another show I was obsessed with and I loved the experience of watching it just as much as the anime itself. Just like with Bad Buddy I would be on tumblr reading posts about those freaking rings and the kiss and everyone went crazy over all of that and it was amazing. I still remember watching the preview for episode 10 (I think?) and watching Everyone go crazy over the possibility that the something round and gold could be rings. Or! Would it be a gold medal? We didn't know but we sure as hell had a fun time freaking out about the possibilities.

6. Your Name / Kimi no Na Wa

This one has to be on the list even though it's a movie. I've watched this movie so many times, it's basically my personality. The art and animation is gorgeous, like wow it's so pretty and smooth, I love it. The way Taki and Mitsuha never met but they came to care for each other and care for the lives they lived in each other's bodies. Taki loves Mitsuha's family and wants to do everything in his power to save them. Also can I talk about the music? Radwimps is such a great choice for this movie, they make beautiful music for this kind of music.

7. Natsume Yuujinchou / Natsume's Book of Friends

Another anime I really love. This one has 6 seasons and it's still not enough. I love this show for it's slice of life feel with a supernatural twist. It's a very slow show where not much happens on the surface but every episode has a nice story. It's lovely to see that Natsume warms up to his new family. The first time he has a family that really, truly cares about him and doesn't tell him he's crazy. Only a few anime make me want to read the manga and this is one of them.

8. Avatar The Last Airbender

I used to watch this show as a kid with my dad. We both love it, it's a very beautiful show. It has a clear story overall but also great individual episodes. It has funny moments but also serious ones. It's a bunch of teenagers going on an adventure to save the world, what's not to love? And then there is Zuko with uncle Iroh who have the best redemption arc and some of the best lines in the show. Iconic duo. Anyways, when do I get my magic water powers?

To anyone who sees this i guess. From now on i will do random blogs about shows that i watch as well as larry. Just for me to rant about what I watch and love about any shows. I mostly watch queer media coz me being queer. I will try to keep this blog organized tho. This blog started out as my old blog which is long lost somewhere in this dumpster fire of an app which was being a Larry blog all about larry but i feel like i wanna blog about different things on here that aren't just about larry but myself as well.

Currently shows that I am obsessed with:

1. Young royals season 2- just finished (probably will scream about it through out the year till next season)

2. Heartstoppers- I absolutely loved this series and waiting for the next season.

3. Love in the air- currently watching (show has like 2 more episodes left with one special episode after that. I absolutely adore this show. Payurain will always be my fav couple even tho prapaisky are absolutely adorable)

4. Until we meet again- finished (i have already finished this one but i am in love with uwma would be unfair for me to not rant about deanpharm)

5. Between us- its starting this week I have waited years for this show. Its parallel with uwma but with winteam storyline and they are my favorite pairing ever.

Opening Tumblr today and seeing your Heartstopper reblogging spree honestly made my day. I'm so addicted to this show since it released and read the comic 3 times from start to finish in the last weeks to just keep that warm and cozy feeling those 2 boys give me for a bit longer, hahaha (also, if you have time and want to squee some more, search for reaction vids on YouTube, there are some real heartwarming and funny gems out there!) . Fingers crossed for a season 2 announcement soon!

i really do hope it gets a season 2! although i'm also annoyed bc I had plans to cut netflix after my friend and I were done watching SPN but alas now I am drawn back in.lwrjekflawekjlkaj

BL Drama Asks

Thank you @mrsandypants for tagging me and sorry it took so long to respond.

1. If you had to watch one drama forever what would it be?

I think I'm with Andy with this one Not Me has a little of everything and I would not get bored. Plus, I love OffGun and this is a stunning turn for both of them.

2. If you could change the ending of a drama, which one would it be?

This one is surprisingly easy even though I haven't watched the whole thing. History 3: Make Our Days Count. And the reason why I haven't watched it all the way through is because of that ending I vehemently dislike the burry your gays trope unless there's a very good reason. This ending was not a good reason. I read that even the creator of the show regrets it. 

3. Name your favorite drama and tell who your favorite character was.

Bad Buddy has won my heart on so many levels. There are very few changes I would make to Bad Buddy if I could and that in of itself is an accomplishment. I love a lot of the characters in this show so picking a favorite is difficult. I love how Ink is so intuitive and kinda just knows what's going on and gets right to the core of things. I love Pa for her realness. I love that Korn is a truly good friend at the end of the day. Wai had some growing to do and I wish we had seen it on screen (this is one of the things I would change) but I do love how much he tries to look out for and protect Pran. Pat is a wonderfully fun loving person who is very deep and passionate. I often wish I could have Pat's ability to live in the moment and not overthink everything. I don't think it would surprise anyone that Pran is my favorite character because I can relate to him so much and Nanon's portrayal of him is just perfect. I feel like I understand and feel what Pran is thinking and feeling and being honest with myself here I too am an emotional person with a tendency to overthink everything. 

Oh man I just realized I missed an opportunity to gush about Heartstopper so I'm picking 2. I would actually change nothing about this show, it's real. fantastical and idealistic all at the same time. And my favorite character is Nick Nelson. It's so nice to have great Bi representation on screen but even more than that he is a great character and often goes against the stereotypes of characters like him which is nice to see. 

4. Name a drama you dropped within the first few episodes -we all have at least one!

So I do not have a problem of stopping shows a few episodes in, my problem is that I do not finish them and often leave them with one or two episodes left. Usually right before the cursed episode 11 conundrum. I do not like manufactured drama which is so often the case with these. One of the shows I stopped right at the end was Cutie Pie. I literally only have one episode left but I was so uncomfortable with how the 2nd to last episode ended I didn't see how the next episode could fix everything satisfactorily. I have been told they did but it was just a lot. Another show I haven't finished is Lovely Writer. I think I have 2 episodes left and I just don't like that they are going to have to hide their relationship. I will probably go back and finish them at some point. I just haven't done so yet.  Don't Say No is a good example of one I originally left with 2 episodes left and did eventually finish it. This happens more with shows I am watching week to week then shows I'm binging but I've done it with Binged shows as well. 

5. Name a popular drama you've never watched and why?

I too have not watched My Engineer and I will probably not watch it until Season 2 comes out if it ever does. But one I actually haven't watched is He's Coming to Me. I love Ohm, Singto and Gunsmile and have heard amazing things about the show but for some reason a love story about a ghost just makes me sad. Maybe because I've lost a lot of people in my life it just sounds like a painful thing to me to fall in love with a ghost whom you can't be with long term. 

Also, on this list is I Told Sunset About You. I wished I had watched it before season 2 came out because I do not like cheating storylines and it unmotivated me to watch season 1. 

6. Name a drama you regret watching.

I don't really regret watching shows because if a show doesn't seem like a show I'll enjoy, I just watch something else until I find out otherwise. I'm still new enough to BLs that there are enough that I haven't seen to pull this off. lol But one I watched but was disappointed with is Fish Upon the Sky. I thought it would be a fun fluffy drama and turned out needlessly angsty. I like all the actors and enjoyed some moments but I am not likely to re-watch the whole thing. 

Also, Andy I could not have made it through Enchante without watching it with you. But I don't regret it because it was fun watching with you. 

7. Name a drama you thought you'd never watch but ended up liking it?

I don't really rule out watching a show, I just think maybe later. But the show I was surprised with how much I enjoyed it, was Star in My Mind. I love Dao and Kluen so much and they are a complete comfort to me that I did not expect. 

8. Name a pairing you'd like to see.

I don't really ship people irl it's creepy and intrusive. That being said I know it would probably never happen but I think Chimon and Nanon would be able to play an interesting on screen pair. Their real life friendship and repore from working together so much before would create pretty strong chemistry on screen. Ohm and Nanon were able to do the same in Bad Buddy. 

9. Name a pairing you didn't think had chemistry?

I don't want to pick on a currently airing show that I am actually enjoying watching but Kim and Kamol in Unforgotten Night struggle in the chemistry department. And honestly I think it has to do with their characters being in a BDSM relationship and none of it being believable.  But this is a trashfire of a show that I am really enjoying. And you gotta love them actually communicating consent. I love consent being shown in shows. 

10. Name a pairing you have seen in another drama that you like?

OffGun is too easy of an answer for this one so I'm going to go with Mike and Toptap. They have paired up in a lot of shows and I always enjoy their banter. Toptap and Mike were the best part of Tonhon Chonlatee for me and yeah that's another show I never finished and in this case I don't think I will, I don't like the ending. I enjoyed them as a couple in 2gether as well. I'm a bit behind in Sky in Your Heart but with both of them in the show my mind just expects them to somehow end up together lol. I would love to see them play leads in a show together one day.

You can start reading the webcomic for free right here on tumblr, this is where the story goes on as far as Alice has written it.

The graphic novels cover the story up to a certain point, the 5th Volume will be released in a few weeks.

The show covers the story until volume 4, I think, so you can go ahead and watch it and still have new parts in the Comic, or read everything and be surprised by the beautiful additions in the Show.

There is no way to do it wrong, in my opinion.

I watched season 1, read the webcomic, bought all the books including some of Alice's novels, and watched season 2 when it aired.

book 5 is preordered and I've joined the patreon, which had new pages every day for a while and is on pause right now.

Tldr: Have fun and be prepared for emotions!
