a shocking number of people got a needlessly condescending and apathetic - sometimes even mean - attitude towards bleakness in stories and all that ends up reinforcing the general sense of alienation felt by the few others who happen to find solace in such stories

#i alr know this as a long-suffering lover of tragedy media that are easy target for persistent self-righteous hate and condescension #but also watching trtm 2016 ytd and then seeing the slew of angry comments @ the bleak ending..hmm #what are yall even so angry about? also why does everything have to be 'beautiful' all the time? and what even gave you #...the idea that the rest of the movie was even 'beautiful' to begin with bjhbjhb #i have mixed feelings about the movie as a whole too but it's more about the execution rather than the development it decided to take #migrant stories are always especially close to my heart #and sorry I'm not the part of the population who has the fortune to be so out of touch with the experience of suffering and unhappiness #good that you're happy and blessed but can you let the rest of us suffer in peace #i respect its world is hopeless hell outlook and its existence as an outlet for such emotions. as a piece of art #even while i think some of the best tragedies i know of are also the most ardent about a sense of hope/solace at the same time #my posts
